- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites presented by Draft Kings. The crown
- 0:13Speaker 1: is yours. We are an Action network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz,
- 0:17Speaker 1: your host, back at it with my people. The Prime
- 0:19Speaker 1: Minister of DJ Nation, Stucky, the first lady of the pod,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Kendrim Middleton is here. Evan Abrams Stats Hound is back
- 0:27Speaker 1: from Vaca as well. We're talking football today. The merry
- 0:31Speaker 1: go round of sporting events that we have to lock
- 0:33Speaker 1: in on on the Spring and summer are just about up.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Mandatory mini camps have wrapped up. We've got storylines of
- 0:40Speaker 1: plenty to sort through. By the way Mailbag episode on Thursdays,
- 0:44Speaker 1: so get those in podcasts at Better Collective dot com.
- 0:48Speaker 1: That's podcasts at Better Collective dot com. We will take
- 0:51Speaker 1: any question that you have for us. Nothing off the
- 0:55Speaker 1: table for the Favorite Screw first and foremost, So let's
- 0:58Speaker 1: check in on the team, Stucky. Your first Father's Day
- 1:01Speaker 1: has come and gone. How was it?
- 1:04Speaker 2: It was bitter sweet? First without my dad, first without Junior,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but first with the fourth, So yeah, it was bittersweet.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And then I also had that's given out on this
- 1:16Speaker 2: podcast at Sam Burns forty to one, which was cruel.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Are you, are you a believer in the fun sweat
- 1:25Speaker 1: or is it only fun when you win the sweat?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Because I saw that a lot out there from Sam
- 1:29Speaker 1: Burns backers that you know, they just enjoyed the ride,
- 1:32Speaker 1: but I have a tough time enjoying the sweat when
- 1:36Speaker 1: I come up empty.
- 1:37Speaker 2: No. I mean, yeah, it was, it was fun, but
- 1:41Speaker 2: ultimately it's only fun if you win. So yeah, that
- 1:44Speaker 2: plot that didn't go and then Clark made that those
- 1:48Speaker 2: two had those two other really really clutch plutts at
- 1:51Speaker 2: the end was the difference. I really did think he
- 1:55Speaker 2: was going to get there at one point, which made
- 1:57Speaker 2: it a little disappointing. But yeah, always the bridesmaid in
- 2:02Speaker 2: a second, so what are you gonna do? But uh
- 2:06Speaker 2: yeah it was nice.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Uh, Kendre, I feel like I'm living in an alternate
- 2:09Speaker 1: universe because yesterday the big topic was the US Open
- 2:14Speaker 1: fans unmercifully booing and heckling Wyndham Clark. And yet all
- 2:20Speaker 1: I see on my timeline from the World Cup is
- 2:24Speaker 1: the wholesome unity that has been created in this country
- 2:29Speaker 1: from soccer fans that are typically the hooligans of the
- 2:32Speaker 1: sports world. What is happening that we have golf fans
- 2:37Speaker 1: that don't know how to act right and soccer fans
- 2:41Speaker 1: that are This is like woodstock, the way that these
- 2:44Speaker 1: fans are falling in love with each other.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I think it's just a little bit of global propaganda. Kravitz.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I think that that's all that's going on here, is
- 2:51Speaker 3: that they want to make us hate each other and
- 2:53Speaker 3: think that everybody else is a bunch of hooligans. Meanwhile,
- 2:56Speaker 3: we're all just komba yawing and having a good time.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Would be it? Maybe we've been sold a false bill
- 3:02Speaker 1: of goods and we all love each other after all.
- 3:05Speaker 1: By the way, big news overnight. First of all, congrats
- 3:07Speaker 1: to Oklahoma winning there the College World Series title. Never
- 3:11Speaker 1: a sweat. They dominated UNC in Game three, But right
- 3:15Speaker 1: after that game ended, the real news broke. I had
- 3:18Speaker 1: just fallen asleep, so I woke up to this news
- 3:20Speaker 1: this morning. Yannis headed to the Miami Heat and the
- 3:24Speaker 1: steam Chasers are out. The title odds got cut in
- 3:28Speaker 1: half after the news broke over on DraftKings love the
- 3:31Speaker 1: move for Miami. I'm not sure what this does for
- 3:33Speaker 1: them in the title picture. I'm sure, Kendra, you all
- 3:36Speaker 1: want my full fledged breakdown of the trade and all
- 3:39Speaker 1: of the pieces involved.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yeah, can you give me a rosebud thorn and then
- 3:42Speaker 3: we can move the fuck on?
- 3:45Speaker 1: Can you explain to me how that game works again?
- 3:47Speaker 3: It's like your high low hero, So you're high of something,
- 3:49Speaker 3: you're low of something, and your unexpected hero.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I think the the high is Tyler hero going
- 3:58Speaker 1: back to Milwaukee. I didn't realize that through this trade
- 4:01Speaker 1: we were going to get this sort of hometown story.
- 4:05Speaker 1: The low is it taking pat Riley ten years to
- 4:10Speaker 1: pull off another move like this.
- 4:12Speaker 3: They both are basically where they were when they started.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I won't talk again pretty much. I think the
- 4:19Speaker 1: hero in this is that the Celtics didn't have to
- 4:24Speaker 1: give up Jalen Brown because I don't think that would
- 4:26Speaker 1: have been a good move for them.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So I don't think it's a good move for them either. However,
- 4:29Speaker 3: I think that he is pissed off, so.
- 4:33Speaker 1: It might be an untenable situation. So we'll see, and
- 4:36Speaker 1: any grandiose opinions on the pot. I do want to say,
- 4:39Speaker 1: as a disclaimer, do not go out there and bet
- 4:41Speaker 1: the Miami to win the title right now. This is
- 4:43Speaker 1: not the time to do it.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I think that this whole thing was stupid and drama
- 4:47Speaker 3: for no reason. Nobody is better off or worse off
- 4:49Speaker 3: than when they started, just to change of scenery for
- 4:52Speaker 3: no reason and a bunch of drama for nothing.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Pretty much anything else on your mind, Kendro. We haven't
- 4:58Speaker 1: had a full fl edged, deep into the dark waters
- 5:03Speaker 1: of Kender's mind question in a while. I'm curious what
- 5:06Speaker 1: is percolating?
- 5:07Speaker 2: What could you have been?
- 5:18Speaker 3: We are so back, Okay, I've been NonStop on every
- 5:22Speaker 3: single show and the Internet talking about the World Cup,
- 5:25Speaker 3: specifically Boston and the Scottish being here. But the Bostonians
- 5:29Speaker 3: are so obsessed with the Scottish men that there's this
- 5:31Speaker 3: girl that's going viral here right now for meeting one
- 5:34Speaker 3: of them and immediately getting on a flight to Miami
- 5:37Speaker 3: with this random stranger to go to the next like
- 5:40Speaker 3: Scotland game in Miami. So I want to know, when
- 5:42Speaker 3: you guys were single, what's the craziest thing you've done
- 5:45Speaker 3: for a girl or like on a whim a date,
- 5:48Speaker 3: like did something insane. I will also allow for the
- 5:51Speaker 3: craziest way you have been turned down by a girl,
- 5:53Speaker 3: Because I went to the bars on Saturday night until
- 5:56Speaker 3: like three o'clock in the morning and got trapped in
- 5:58Speaker 3: a booth by one of these guys and had to
- 6:00Speaker 3: convinced them that I was a lesbian so he would
- 6:02Speaker 3: let me leave.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Uh, stuck, you want to tackle this one first.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I mean, craziest thing I've done. I mean, I married
- 6:11Speaker 2: the girl I met on Twitter.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So I got your wife on Twitter.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah, she was. She followed me. She was a she
- 6:18Speaker 2: was the fan. She followed me and.
- 6:21Speaker 1: We went back.
- 6:22Speaker 2: We went back and forth d m ing. I texted
- 6:27Speaker 2: her the night that Kentucky lost to Wisconsin. I DMed
- 6:30Speaker 2: her that night. That was the first time we started talking.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I DMed her that night. She she would always like
- 6:34Speaker 2: reply and I was like, man, this is like there
- 6:38Speaker 2: was like it was like the one girl that followed me.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I had like one girl follower, this one I was
- 6:42Speaker 2: anonymous uh on Twitter with a locked account because I
- 6:46Speaker 2: was working in finance and I DM. I DMed her
- 6:52Speaker 2: it was the uh, the only girl I've ever d
- 6:53Speaker 2: m in my life. And I said, it was a
- 6:57Speaker 2: really funny DM. I said, because Kentucky. She was a
- 7:00Speaker 2: diar Kentucky fan. I said, sorry for your loss. If
- 7:03Speaker 2: you want to talk about it, here this is my number.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And then she called me and that night at like
- 7:12Speaker 2: three in the morning from the bar and we talked.
- 7:17Speaker 2: And then the next morning I texted her and she
- 7:24Speaker 2: had no recollection of who I was or that we talked,
- 7:30Speaker 2: so that explained.
- 7:31Speaker 3: To her, you married a reply guy. That gives me hope.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Then we started talking for like a year, then we met,
- 7:40Speaker 2: then we started dating shortly thereafter, and then got married
- 7:44Speaker 2: a couple of years after that, and then here we
- 7:46Speaker 2: are with a kid.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Wow, that is amazing. You might be one of the
- 7:51Speaker 1: only people in the country with that love story. You
- 7:54Speaker 1: guys ask phenomenal questions. I want to start by saying that,
- 7:58Speaker 1: but often I feel ill because I have it. I know.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I mean, we've known each other now for a full year.
- 8:07Speaker 1: You know that there's a story somewhere lodged in my
- 8:12Speaker 1: brain of me getting horrendously turned down by a woman. Okay,
- 8:15Speaker 1: that has just happened numerous times so far. Can I
- 8:20Speaker 1: think of the best example. No, But when I was
- 8:23Speaker 1: in third grade, oh god, I had a huge crush
- 8:27Speaker 1: on this girl, Stacey, and I remember calling her house
- 8:32Speaker 1: and I sang, can you feel the love tonight? By
- 8:36Speaker 1: Elton John off of the Lion King album CA and
- 8:53Speaker 1: she hung up on me. Understandably, I've been scarred by
- 8:58Speaker 1: that ever since.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Funny, Oh, I think, Okay, the craziest thing, and then
- 9:03Speaker 3: we'll move on the craziest thing that I've done. I
- 9:05Speaker 3: met a guy on a dating app, talked to him
- 9:07Speaker 3: for like a week, and then didn't want to do
- 9:09Speaker 3: a drive to a wedding that was like so far away.
- 9:12Speaker 3: So I just asked him if he wanted to come
- 9:14Speaker 3: with me, and he did, so, Yeah, okay, you gotta
- 9:19Speaker 3: be down for the rid.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I did break up with a girl once. This
- 9:24Speaker 1: is the opposite end of the equation because the Dolphins
- 9:27Speaker 1: were playing the Jets on Monday Night Football and it
- 9:30Speaker 1: was the day of our anniversary and I didn't want
- 9:33Speaker 1: to do anything. So yeah, that was That was a
- 9:39Speaker 1: lot awkward. Coming up NFL training camp storylines that we
- 9:43Speaker 1: are most excited about. Before before we get to that,
- 9:46Speaker 1: let me tell you about the sports app I'm most
- 9:48Speaker 1: excited about, and that, of course is DraftKings. The Favorites

- 10:18Speaker 1: and stay in the game. The crown is yours. All right,
- 10:22Speaker 1: Let's just start with the obvious, the quarterbacks. Lefty v
- 10:26Speaker 1: Lefty In Atlanta, Michael Pennix has not yet been cleared
- 10:29Speaker 1: for eleven on eleven's Tua has been getting first team reps.
- 10:33Speaker 1: He's the new guy, but in some ways they're both new.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Kevin Stefanski's the new head coach. They've got a new
- 10:38Speaker 1: system to learn. I still feel like Pennix has a
- 10:42Speaker 1: higher ceiling than Tua because of his arm strength. But
- 10:45Speaker 1: who do we want to see win this battle? If
- 10:47Speaker 1: you are like me and you've got a futures ticket
- 10:51Speaker 1: pot in the sky for Super Bowl, but I will
- 10:53Speaker 1: probably end up taking them to win the division at
- 10:55Speaker 1: some point, who would you want to see as the
- 10:58Speaker 1: quarterback odds? Right now? Point towards two A minus one
- 11:02Speaker 1: seventy five and Michael Pennix at plus one forty Kendra,
- 11:07Speaker 1: where do you land on the leftyv Lefty battle?
- 11:10Speaker 3: I gotta be honest, I would love a success story
- 11:13Speaker 3: for Michael Pennox, but I just don't see that in
- 11:16Speaker 3: the cards. I think from a if you're a Falcons
- 11:19Speaker 3: fan and from an entertainment perspective, you're probably cheering for
- 11:23Speaker 3: two a year, and that's kind of who I would
- 11:25Speaker 3: like to see, just because I think it makes them
- 11:27Speaker 3: more competitive. I think it makes them more fun, and
- 11:29Speaker 3: I think that it is better for this podcast. So
- 11:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna say I would like to see to us. Sorry,
- 11:35Speaker 3: Michael Pennix, I just don't know how you have so
- 11:37Speaker 3: many ACL surgeries and come back from that like you
- 11:40Speaker 3: have no ACL left. How are you even going to
- 11:42Speaker 3: be manageable? I don't care if you have the best
- 11:44Speaker 3: doctors in the world. That is just something that I
- 11:47Speaker 3: fear you cannot ever be the same From.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Well my count, it's three by the way, three torn ACL.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Do you want the same leg correct? Like obviously I
- 11:56Speaker 3: think yeah. I think two of them are on his left.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Me, Well, how else you gonna have three torn acls.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Well you could tear the same one three times.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Maybe, Yeah, I guess, uh, I think, I'm yeah. I
- 12:10Speaker 2: think it's gonna be two a starting week one. I
- 12:13Speaker 2: mean he's got the leg up as far as no
- 12:17Speaker 2: pun intended, and got the leg up right now running
- 12:19Speaker 2: the offense with Penics not fully healthy, and you know,
- 12:23Speaker 2: Stefanski's talked a lot about how accuracy is paramount in
- 12:28Speaker 2: his offenses, and that's where I think Tua has an edge.
- 12:32Speaker 2: She's very accurate when you know he makes that first
- 12:34Speaker 2: read and Penick struggles in that department. So I think
- 12:39Speaker 2: it's going to be Tua to start. Now, who would
- 12:41Speaker 2: I want? Like you mentioned, I do think I think
- 12:45Speaker 2: it's a pretty simple handicapper from determining how you would
- 12:49Speaker 2: approach this, there's like depending on what you bet on.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I think, for like your Super Bowl future, you would
- 12:55Speaker 2: want Penix. Now that doesn't mean it has to be
- 12:57Speaker 2: Panis right away, but the chances that either one of
- 12:58Speaker 2: these quarterbacks stays healthy all years, probably.
- 13:01Speaker 1: If I could bet both will start games, that bet
- 13:04Speaker 1: of the year on thee.
- 13:05Speaker 2: But I think that the team has a higher ceiling
- 13:09Speaker 2: with Panix and a higher floor with Tua, So like
- 13:14Speaker 2: I don't if Penis. We know what Tua is now,
- 13:20Speaker 2: and you know Penis has his flaws, but he also
- 13:24Speaker 2: has only started what twelve games I believe in his career,
- 13:28Speaker 2: so he hasn't even started a full season's worth of
- 13:32Speaker 2: games yet. So there's still some unlocked potential and just
- 13:37Speaker 2: some higher variants because we just haven't seen he's younger
- 13:40Speaker 2: and we just haven't seen him grow into what he
- 13:45Speaker 2: potentially could be. So if you're looking for like your
- 13:48Speaker 2: super Bowl future, I think you would eventually need Penix
- 13:51Speaker 2: to take over and take that next step. If you're
- 13:55Speaker 2: just looking to, you know, potentially win the division because
- 14:00Speaker 2: the division is so wide open. If you're looking to
- 14:04Speaker 2: just get to like that eight to ten win range
- 14:08Speaker 2: and you know, have a pretty high floor where you're
- 14:11Speaker 2: going to be in most games, then I think you
- 14:14Speaker 2: want Tua. So I think it just depends on what
- 14:17Speaker 2: lens you're trying to look through for that. Do you
- 14:20Speaker 2: think I do think too will start Week one?
- 14:22Speaker 3: Who do we think the team wants to start?
- 14:25Speaker 2: I think they want I mean depends on how you're
- 14:28Speaker 2: who you're asking. Like about two, I think I think
- 14:30Speaker 2: the staff wants toua just because he's been running the offense.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Now he's healthy, he's gonna have the edge there and
- 14:37Speaker 2: then he's more accurate as of right now. And I
- 14:39Speaker 2: think that's what they value in the offense at least
- 14:41Speaker 2: to get things started. And then like the good thing
- 14:45Speaker 2: is is that you can you can you have a
- 14:49Speaker 2: backup plan now, so that that's that that's how you
- 14:54Speaker 2: think you can keep everyone happy by framing it like that, right,
- 14:56Speaker 2: you can frame it that, oh, well, t was healthy,
- 15:00Speaker 2: Panics is still recovering. So two is going to start
- 15:03Speaker 2: and if it goes well, great, it goes well. If
- 15:06Speaker 2: it doesn't, then at some point you're even like six seven,
- 15:11Speaker 2: eight weeks into the season, you're never You're probably never
- 15:14Speaker 2: gonna be out of this division. I mean, look at
- 15:16Speaker 2: last year they almost they were this division should be
- 15:20Speaker 2: a race until the end. So you can then pull
- 15:23Speaker 2: the trigger and say let's go to Panics because it
- 15:25Speaker 2: isn't going well. So I think that the staff wants
- 15:31Speaker 2: to at a start, but I don't think that they'll
- 15:34Speaker 2: be shy about moving on to Panics if it doesn't
- 15:39Speaker 2: go well.
- 15:40Speaker 1: That's the problem with with marrying yourself to two is
- 15:43Speaker 1: that he's going to have a game where he throws
- 15:44Speaker 1: four picks and then what do you do? How knee
- 15:47Speaker 1: jerk are you going to be with his bad games?
- 15:50Speaker 1: And it feels like, just with the way that they're
- 15:52Speaker 1: set up, the answer is very Penix was three and
- 15:56Speaker 1: six last year in the nine games that he did play.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Let's move on to the nerd off in Las Vegas,
- 16:02Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza flourishes in training camp.
- 16:08Speaker 1: If he does and he flourishes in the preseason, could
- 16:11Speaker 1: he start Week one? They seem pretty dead set on
- 16:14Speaker 1: their plan, but Tom Brady is at least in charge
- 16:18Speaker 1: to some degree. They've got a new head coach. The
- 16:20Speaker 1: timeline does not indicate that they need to rush Mendoza
- 16:24Speaker 1: out there. I'm I think I'm on the more bullish
- 16:27Speaker 1: side of I could see Kirk Cousins starting the entire season,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and that does not seem to be the consensus opinion
- 16:34Speaker 1: out there. Kendrick, where do you think is there a
- 16:37Speaker 1: natural point in the year where we see Mendoza come
- 16:41Speaker 1: in or does he just start right away?
- 16:43Speaker 3: I don't think he's gonna start right away. Tom Brady
- 16:45Speaker 3: sat he's been talking about how he would prefer if
- 16:47Speaker 3: he's sat the entire time. I don't think that they're
- 16:49Speaker 3: going to go against whatever Tom Brady has to say,
- 16:51Speaker 3: just because how can you. I think probably what's gonna
- 16:54Speaker 3: happen is they're going to start their season first, you know,
- 16:57Speaker 3: eight nine weeks, like shit. There's gonna be a lot
- 16:59Speaker 3: of pressure, not just from players on the team who
- 17:02Speaker 3: want to win and don't want to waste their season,
- 17:05Speaker 3: probably wanting to put Mendoza in there, let alone from
- 17:08Speaker 3: the fans and you know whoever, the staff winds up splitting.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I could see him probably halfway through the season coming
- 17:14Speaker 3: in and them just trying to keep their head above water.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Austin's was pretty good last year, and it's not like
- 17:20Speaker 1: the Raiders don't have talent around him. This is one
- 17:22Speaker 1: of the reasons why I think they could end up
- 17:24Speaker 1: sticking with Cousins is because he could look good in
- 17:28Speaker 1: this offense. Rock Bowers is a star. Ashton gent should
- 17:31Speaker 1: be a lot better than he was in his rookie season.
- 17:35Speaker 1: They have pieces, they have a decent offensive line. He
- 17:38Speaker 1: might actually look good. I mean he was. He was
- 17:42Speaker 1: better than Penix was for the Falcons last year. So
- 17:45Speaker 1: who's to say that he's gonna play so horribly that
- 17:47Speaker 1: they feel like we're talking about knee jerk reactions where
- 17:50Speaker 1: they would have to move off of Kirk Cousins and
- 17:52Speaker 1: not stick to their plans. Old, yeah, off.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yet I think he's gonna be Cousins is the star,
- 18:01Speaker 2: and I mean that there's our reason that they signed him,
- 18:03Speaker 2: and he effectively has what a one year, twenty million
- 18:05Speaker 2: dollar deal, So I think that's and this is I
- 18:11Speaker 2: think I liked what the Raiders did in the draft,
- 18:14Speaker 2: but this is a team that's still at least a
- 18:16Speaker 2: year or two away, especially when you're in that division
- 18:20Speaker 2: with the Chiefs, the Chargers, the Broncos. So I don't
- 18:24Speaker 2: think that they're going into this season saying, let's try
- 18:30Speaker 2: and win the Super Bowl. So I think they want
- 18:33Speaker 2: to just their focuses on bringing Mendoza along, and you know,
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think they want him to develop more under Cousins.
- 18:40Speaker 2: So I think the way that they're going to approach
- 18:42Speaker 2: this is, Look, if if it goes really well with
- 18:46Speaker 2: Cousins and for whatever reason, it's the NFL, you know,
- 18:50Speaker 2: you never know, then yeah, I could see him starting
- 18:52Speaker 2: for a good chunk of the season and then if
- 18:55Speaker 2: he leads them to the playoffs, and then Mendoz is
- 18:58Speaker 2: going to start next year. But I think that the
- 19:01Speaker 2: Raiders are looking Mendoza is going to be quarterback in
- 19:03Speaker 2: the future. We're going to keep building out the roster
- 19:07Speaker 2: and there's probably a good chance that at some point
- 19:10Speaker 2: this season they're going to be out of the race,
- 19:12Speaker 2: and then I think that's when you move on to Mendoza.
- 19:15Speaker 2: And looking at the start of their schedule, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 2: a lot of times it always makes sense to I
- 19:24Speaker 2: shouldn't say always, but many times it makes sense to
- 19:26Speaker 2: do these things at the buy. Now they have a
- 19:28Speaker 2: late buy I believe, like late thirteen, so, but they
- 19:33Speaker 2: have a tough schedule. You know, the first seven weeks
- 19:40Speaker 2: they're at the Chargers, at the Saints, Chiefs, at the Pats,
- 19:45Speaker 2: Bills Rams, So you know, if they're one in six,
- 19:51Speaker 2: then it makes that it's like, Okay, let's see what
- 19:55Speaker 2: we got with Mendoza. Let's get them some some game action.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And it doesn't matter. But I think Cousins will at
- 20:00Speaker 2: least start the year.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Mendoza's touchdown prop right now on DraftKings plus one fifty
- 20:06Speaker 1: for fifteen plus touchdowns that would suggest that the books
- 20:10Speaker 1: expect him to play at some point.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but that seems high because I am in the
- 20:16Speaker 3: camp that they're going to wait as long as possible
- 20:18Speaker 3: on him, and that number feels crazy to me.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I agree. It is a one way market, so it's
- 20:23Speaker 1: not like you can bet the no on that. On
- 20:27Speaker 1: the age front, though, Kendro, it's crazy, and I know
- 20:30Speaker 1: that you're I think you're a little more down on
- 20:32Speaker 1: the hype of the La Rams, so this could fit
- 20:34Speaker 1: in line with that. You called Kirk Cousins old. Matt
- 20:37Speaker 1: Stafford is a year older than Kirk Cousins, and it
- 20:40Speaker 1: doesn't feel like that because Kirk Cousins carries himself like
- 20:43Speaker 1: a grandpa. He is actually younger than our reigning MVP.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm very you guys know. I want to love
- 20:51Speaker 3: the Rams. I just don't this season. I think Matt
- 20:53Speaker 3: Stafford's finally too old. I think last year was their window.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I don't care who they add. The drama going on
- 20:59Speaker 3: with Pokin who DeVante Adams also old. I just don't
- 21:02Speaker 3: know how they're going to get all of these pieces
- 21:04Speaker 3: to fit so perfectly in such a difficult division. I
- 21:08Speaker 3: know that they're the favorites right now. People expect Matt
- 21:10Speaker 3: Stafford to go out there and be as good as
- 21:11Speaker 3: he was last year. I just with another season under
- 21:15Speaker 3: his belt, another season on his body, and the back
- 21:17Speaker 3: issues that we know he continues to have. I don't
- 21:20Speaker 3: know in the division that they play in, how long
- 21:22Speaker 3: he can go out there and be a forty year
- 21:24Speaker 3: old man in the NFL.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Well, good thing they drafted a quarterback.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Oh my god, did did they vot? Did they vote?
- 21:31Speaker 3: Did they? Well?
- 21:34Speaker 2: The Raiders also like the Kirk Cousins touchdown prop they there,
- 21:38Speaker 2: Their wide receiver room is a little lacking.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It was a it was the that was a Mendoza
- 21:44Speaker 1: prop that was not Kirk Cousins.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Well we regardless, I'm saying the their wide receiver room
- 21:49Speaker 2: is still leads a lot to be desired.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yes, hours Uh, well, I'm not sure that anyone actually
- 21:57Speaker 1: gives a shit about this. We'll talk about it anyway.
- 21:59Speaker 1: The Arizona Cardinals and what's going on with Jacoby Brissett
- 22:03Speaker 1: and a stalemate right now with Arizona significantly far apart
- 22:08Speaker 1: in negotiations for a new contract. This is the same
- 22:10Speaker 1: dude that went one and eleven last year as the starter.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I'm not sure what kind of leverage he has. Gardner
- 22:16Speaker 1: Minshew is also on the roster, and Carson Beck, who
- 22:20Speaker 1: is seven to one to be the day one starter
- 22:23Speaker 1: for the Arizona Cardinals. We don't have to spend much
- 22:26Speaker 1: time on this, stucky, but who do you think starts
- 22:29Speaker 1: day one for Arizona?
- 22:31Speaker 2: I don't I think they ultimately get some kind of
- 22:34Speaker 2: deal done with Persette. But I mean, look, the Cardinals
- 22:37Speaker 2: are in complete rebuilt mode and they're not going to
- 22:42Speaker 2: compete for anything real this year, especially in that division.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So could I see them, you know, maybe there's a
- 22:48Speaker 2: quarterback who gets hurt and they end up trading Bersette,
- 22:51Speaker 2: or they just can't come to an agreement. Could I
- 22:56Speaker 2: see them just saying, like, because it's not like Carson
- 22:59Speaker 2: Beck is a top five pick right where you invested
- 23:05Speaker 2: this huge amount of draft resources and you want to
- 23:10Speaker 2: you know, he's your franchise quarterback. Let's bring him along slowly. He's,
- 23:16Speaker 2: you know, very experienced college quarterback. I don't know, I
- 23:20Speaker 2: think it might be worth a flyer on back because
- 23:21Speaker 2: I could just see them saying, let's just see what
- 23:23Speaker 2: we got. There's also a world where they go it
- 23:28Speaker 2: like if they think that they're not going to come
- 23:29Speaker 2: to an agreement with Bersette and I'm not, I fully
- 23:34Speaker 2: admit I'm not. I'm not completely up to speed on everything,
- 23:39Speaker 2: and I don't have any knowledge on what's going on
- 23:41Speaker 2: in the back end there. But is there a world
- 23:44Speaker 2: where they go into the season with you know, Minshew
- 23:46Speaker 2: is the veteran Beck and and then they get Soresby
- 23:52Speaker 2: in the supplemental draft and then he's obviously I don't
- 23:56Speaker 2: think it'll be able to start right away, So you
- 23:58Speaker 2: throw Beck in there and you say, Okay, let's just
- 24:03Speaker 2: see what we got, just see what he looks like.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And then you know, if Sowarsby's like suspended the first
- 24:09Speaker 2: six weeks, then later in the year you throw in
- 24:13Speaker 2: if it doesn't go well, which probably won't, you throw
- 24:15Speaker 2: on Sowarsby and see what you got. And now you
- 24:17Speaker 2: have two young quarterbacks and you hope that one hits
- 24:21Speaker 2: and then you'll have your quarterback of the future as
- 24:25Speaker 2: you continue to rebuild as you're because the Cardinals should
- 24:29Speaker 2: have a lens of Okay, let's look three years into
- 24:33Speaker 2: the future, right, and then the goal three years into
- 24:36Speaker 2: the future when the division might not be as difficult
- 24:39Speaker 2: and there's more turnover with some of the other teams
- 24:42Speaker 2: in their division. The goal should be, let's have a
- 24:46Speaker 2: quarterback on a rookie contract that we have two to
- 24:50Speaker 2: three years from now, that we feel comfortable with that
- 24:52Speaker 2: we can then build the team around to compete. So
- 24:55Speaker 2: why not go into the year with a Soresby and
- 24:58Speaker 2: a back you didn't waste a first round pick on either?
- 25:02Speaker 2: Throw them in. See what you got.
- 25:05Speaker 3: My comments?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Actually, why somebody's gonna end up blowing a pick on
- 25:08Speaker 1: Brendan Soresby for that exact reason. It'll either be the
- 25:11Speaker 1: Cardinals or the Dolphins.
- 25:12Speaker 3: My comment was gonna be, is there truly that big
- 25:15Speaker 3: of a drop off between Jacoby and Gardner? I'm gonna
- 25:19Speaker 3: say no.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Jacoby Brissette, their offensive coordinator I think is now the
- 25:28Speaker 1: OC in Detroit if I have my moving pieces correct,
- 25:32Speaker 1: So then they must have done something pedzing. Yeah, they
- 25:38Speaker 1: must have done something that the NFL was fond of,
- 25:41Speaker 1: and Brissette was the guy leading that charge. They were
- 25:44Speaker 1: really bad overall, but Brisette wasn't necessarily the problem. I mean,
- 25:50Speaker 1: I don't think he has much leverage, so I don't
- 25:51Speaker 1: know what's going on here with that. But I think
- 25:55Speaker 1: there's a drop off. I think Brissette is better than
- 25:57Speaker 1: how many times have we seen Mention.
- 26:00Speaker 3: It's just not that big of a drop off, is
- 26:01Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I don't think you would like Gligo Minshew, like, just
- 26:06Speaker 2: go to back if you're not.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Going to agree with that. Seven to one, By the way,
- 26:10Speaker 1: not terrible if you wanted to bet that the Minnesota
- 26:13Speaker 1: quarterback battle seems to be settled. This is Kyler's job
- 26:16Speaker 1: unless he gets hurt. JJ McCarthy could not have been
- 26:20Speaker 1: less professional in his response when asked about the relationship
- 26:22Speaker 1: with Kyler Murray. He said, it's like two kids sitting
- 26:25Speaker 1: in class at the opposite end of the classroom. Kendra
- 26:29Speaker 1: big talent gap here. I'm excited to see what Kyler
- 26:32Speaker 1: can do in this offense, and I think they're done
- 26:34Speaker 1: with JJ already.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I was very much in the camp that I did
- 26:39Speaker 3: not give a singular shit about Kyler Murray or JJ McCarthy.
- 26:43Speaker 3: But JJ McCarthy has had me re enter the chat.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I am now cheering actively for his downfall and for
- 26:50Speaker 3: Kyler Murray just because, like I get, the kid is
- 26:54Speaker 3: young and he probably doesn't have as much media training.
- 26:57Speaker 3: But to be honest, how do you, just as a
- 26:59Speaker 3: cogniz human, not understand that you cannot say those things?
- 27:03Speaker 3: Like I understand you do not have the same amount
- 27:05Speaker 3: of media training as Kyler Murray. And you are probably
- 27:08Speaker 3: hurt and your feelings are hurt, your butt hurt, your
- 27:10Speaker 3: ass hurts from the banking that you're getting whatever, But
- 27:13Speaker 3: you have to be an adult in the room, especially
- 27:16Speaker 3: at the quarterback position. He knows better. He played it
- 27:19Speaker 3: a big school. He knows better than to say those things.
- 27:22Speaker 3: And now because of how much of a child he
- 27:25Speaker 3: acted like, it feels like he's lost the fan base,
- 27:28Speaker 3: he's lost the locker room, he's lost the respect of
- 27:30Speaker 3: the media. And I don't want to pile on the kid,
- 27:32Speaker 3: but you have to know better, and to go out
- 27:34Speaker 3: there and say something like that is just absurd. And
- 27:37Speaker 3: I am now rooting for Kyler Murray when I quite
- 27:39Speaker 3: literally did not give a crap how his career went
- 27:42Speaker 3: like two months ago.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Seems like a pretty big upgrade going from JJ McCarthy
- 27:48Speaker 1: what we saw last year nine. Even if you can't
- 27:51Speaker 1: complete passes with Justin Jefferson, yeah, can't form chemistry with him,
- 27:55Speaker 1: you could do that. I think Kyler's gonna have a
- 27:59Speaker 1: phenomenal year. Starf Ucky. Is there the football X and
- 28:01Speaker 1: O side of you. Are you geeking out over the
- 28:03Speaker 1: idea of a talent like Kyler when he's on the
- 28:07Speaker 1: field playing in a KOC offense.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you have to be. I think you
- 28:13Speaker 2: have to be a lot more optimistic as a Vikings
- 28:16Speaker 2: fan than you were lest year. We've seen what O'Connell
- 28:18Speaker 2: has done with inferior quarterback play and just a hodgepodge
- 28:23Speaker 2: of who's like just random backups that he's had success with.
- 28:27Speaker 2: So yeah, and if you look if their offensive, like
- 28:30Speaker 2: if their tackles are healthy, you could argue they have
- 28:32Speaker 2: one of the best, if not the best wide receiver
- 28:35Speaker 2: duo in there are a treo, I should say, in
- 28:38Speaker 2: the NFL. So there's weapons there, and you know Murray
- 28:43Speaker 2: gives them a much higher floor and ceiling. And I agree,
- 28:47Speaker 2: I think this this is they're saying that it's a competition,
- 28:51Speaker 2: but this is Murray's job. There's like he went to
- 28:56Speaker 2: Minnesota and they were recording him early and then he
- 29:01Speaker 2: was supposed to go meet with the Steelers and never
- 29:07Speaker 2: even met with the Steelers and then signed with the Vikings.
- 29:10Speaker 2: And a guy like Murray where he's at in his career,
- 29:15Speaker 2: for him not to go meet with other teams after that,
- 29:19Speaker 2: I think essentially tells us that he was he was
- 29:24Speaker 2: told it's his job, so yeah, he's the and McCarthy
- 29:29Speaker 2: is just we know what McCarthy is, so you have
- 29:35Speaker 2: to go with You have to go with Murray to
- 29:38Speaker 2: start this thing. And I think basically they told him
- 29:40Speaker 2: it's your job and that's why that deal was done
- 29:43Speaker 2: so early and he didn't go meet with the Steelers
- 29:45Speaker 2: or any other teams. So yeah, I think this that's
- 29:49Speaker 2: we're gonna see Caylumurry week one.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Does Bros make the roster?
- 29:54Speaker 1: Probably not fuck pact to squad Taxi cab Taxi squad.
- 30:00Speaker 1: By the way, I come in peace on this episode.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Even though production wrote in a suggestion that we talk
- 30:06Speaker 1: about Malik Willis and the Dolphins, I am exing that
- 30:11Speaker 1: out because we already know.
- 30:14Speaker 3: You just had to continue your streak about talking about
- 30:17Speaker 3: the Dolphins and then move on.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'm just mentioning I'm keeping the streak alive by mentioning
- 30:21Speaker 1: that I'm not talking about them. By talking about them,
- 30:24Speaker 1: Let's talk about the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes. We
- 30:27Speaker 1: are going to get daily updates on his health. Some
- 30:30Speaker 1: beat reporter will be assigned to camp outside of his home.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Most likely, he hopes to play in the preseason. He's
- 30:37Speaker 1: the odds on favorite to win Comeback Player of the
- 30:41Speaker 1: Year plus two hundred, even though he played fourteen games
- 30:44Speaker 1: last year for the Chiefs. I'm not sure he should
- 30:46Speaker 1: be eligible for that. He is a heavy favorite to
- 30:51Speaker 1: be the starting quarterback at the start of the season
- 30:53Speaker 1: for the Kansas City Chiefs. They do justin fields, by
- 30:55Speaker 1: the way, But any pessimism Kendra going into the season
- 31:00Speaker 1: as far as Mahomes goes the injury, or is it
- 31:04Speaker 1: just wheels up for Kansas City on the bounce back.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I just feel like we're in the same spot we
- 31:09Speaker 3: always are. Until Patrick Mahomes shows me that he is
- 31:13Speaker 3: off his game at all, I'm going to continue to
- 31:15Speaker 3: believe that he is the second coming of Jesus Christ,
- 31:17Speaker 3: because that's who I know him to be. I just
- 31:19Speaker 3: worry that. I mean, and they did retool, so I'm
- 31:23Speaker 3: just as scared of them as I have ever been.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And I until that is shown otherwise to me, I
- 31:29Speaker 3: will stay in that camp.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yeah, the market definitely still backing the Kansas City chief Stucky.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Any hesitancy on Kansas City and what Mahomes can be
- 31:39Speaker 1: to start the season.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, that definitely hesitancy. We'll be monitoring and we'll
- 31:48Speaker 2: see when he's fully healthy and he's you know, another
- 31:52Speaker 2: year older. But I have more concerns about the rest
- 31:54Speaker 2: of the roster than Mahomes. So that's that's a conversation
- 32:00Speaker 2: for another day. But there's there's other problems that the
- 32:02Speaker 2: Chiefs have than Mahomes.
- 32:03Speaker 1: But if you get him back, we're the favorites.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Back to form that that'll mask a lot of issues.
- 32:09Speaker 1: They're plus one sixty to win the division and this
- 32:12Speaker 1: is a loaded division too. Denver's good and got better
- 32:16Speaker 1: in the offseason. I think Denver's at least good. They're
- 32:20Speaker 1: not as good as they were last year. They're not
- 32:22Speaker 1: gonna be the one seed again, but that's a good
- 32:24Speaker 1: football team. They've got an elite defense, a decent quarterback.
- 32:28Speaker 1: They upgraded in terms of weaponry them.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I don't believe in I don't believe in the Chargers either.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Denver showed us that they can compete last year. They've
- 32:38Speaker 1: got an elite coach too, and Sean Payton that should
- 32:40Speaker 1: be mentioned talking about elite coaching, Jim Harball with the
- 32:43Speaker 1: LA Chargers and a loaded roster there, and both are
- 32:47Speaker 1: sitting behind the Kansas City Chiefs in terms of the
- 32:49Speaker 1: AFC West odds. And we don't even know for sure
- 32:53Speaker 1: that Mahomes is going to start at the beginning of
- 32:55Speaker 1: the season. It just seems a little rich if you
- 32:57Speaker 1: wanted to get and Travis Kelcey, who still should be
- 33:01Speaker 1: there a one tier one weapon, looked awful last year.
- 33:06Speaker 1: And I don't want to get stuck in the on
- 33:11Speaker 1: page the back page of the New York Post here,
- 33:14Speaker 1: but it doesn't look like he's done a ton this
- 33:17Speaker 1: offseason in regards to the football field, So I.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Don't think that they have, though. I think that they
- 33:24Speaker 3: just paid him so that they could continue to profit
- 33:27Speaker 3: off of Taylor Swift. I gotta be honest. I don't
- 33:29Speaker 3: think he's going to be a key piece of this offense.
- 33:30Speaker 3: I think that he knows that. I think they know
- 33:32Speaker 3: that his beer belly is growing by the day with
- 33:36Speaker 3: all the wedding shenanigans. I don't think that they expect
- 33:39Speaker 3: anything from him other than jersey sales from mister swift.
- 33:43Speaker 1: A bottom line is I tend to agree with that.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I think before you can place a bet on a division,
- 33:53Speaker 1: you have to decide who you're not going to bet on.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Kansas City is not a bet that I would be
- 33:58Speaker 1: willing to place right now. Head to Indy, Daniel Jones,
- 34:02Speaker 1: Anthony Richardson, Riley Leonard, who are they going to start
- 34:07Speaker 1: at the beginning of the season. Jones was cleared to
- 34:09Speaker 1: participate in seven on seven drills for the club's mandatory
- 34:13Speaker 1: mini camp, but not a ton of confidence that he's
- 34:16Speaker 1: going to be ready to start the season. This is
- 34:20Speaker 1: a very weird situation for how hot Indy was at
- 34:23Speaker 1: the start of last year. Kendra, how do we feel
- 34:26Speaker 1: going into twenty twenty six as it pertains to the
- 34:30Speaker 1: quarterback situation with the Indianapolis Cults.
- 34:33Speaker 3: I love that the Indianapolis Cults are in the AFC South,
- 34:35Speaker 3: Thank you give me. The streak will continue in Jacksonville.
- 34:39Speaker 3: I think that they're going to make Riley Leonard and
- 34:40Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson battle it out in camp, and whoever looks
- 34:43Speaker 3: less like shit, it's probably going to start until Daniel
- 34:45Speaker 3: Jones comes back. I just don't think we're ever going
- 34:47Speaker 3: to see the version of Daniel Jones that we saw
- 34:50Speaker 3: last season. I think the Sauce Gardner train was trade
- 34:53Speaker 3: was all for nothing now and thank you, I will
- 34:56Speaker 3: gladly take that money. See AFC South one less competition.
- 35:03Speaker 1: It does feel like they're kind of falling behind even
- 35:06Speaker 1: the I'm seeing the Titans catch a little bit of
- 35:08Speaker 1: hype in the off season with you head coach and
- 35:11Speaker 1: Robert Salad another year of maturity for camp Ward. The
- 35:15Speaker 1: Texans are loaded and the Jaguars are as well.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Alexansas schedule gods fucked us by making a divisional game
- 35:24Speaker 3: in London against the Texans. I will never forgive you losers.
- 35:28Speaker 3: I hate you guys.
- 35:29Speaker 1: If we're cashing tickets on me mentioning the Dolphins, we
- 35:32Speaker 1: gotta cash some tickets on Kendra mentioning.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I never mentioned them, I never.
- 35:37Speaker 1: No, no, no no, I'm talking about your hatred for.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Games.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate Alec Pierce is another one that he
- 35:45Speaker 1: might not be ready for the start of training camp
- 35:47Speaker 1: as well. We don't talk a lot about the Indianapolis cult, Stucky,
- 35:50Speaker 1: but is this a team that you are concerned about
- 35:54Speaker 1: in terms of repeating what they were able to do
- 35:56Speaker 1: at the start of last season.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yeah, not not too high on the Colts. That's why
- 36:00Speaker 2: if we get I mean Daniels going to started to
- 36:03Speaker 2: show cracks of turning back into Pumpkin before he got hurt.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Let's not forget that. If it's Riley Leonard starting, it'd
- 36:10Speaker 2: be the tenth different quarterback starting in Week one for
- 36:13Speaker 2: the Colts over the past ten years, which is pretty crazy.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Let's end the quarterback discussion with perhaps what could be
- 36:23Speaker 1: for some the most captivating. Are the Browns really gonna
- 36:26Speaker 1: go with Deshaun Watson over Shador Sanders. The talk amongst
- 36:31Speaker 1: the Cleveland media is this is a hot topic on
- 36:35Speaker 1: on Monday in Cleveland Sports Talk Radio was that Shador
- 36:39Speaker 1: Sanders could be a trade candidate. I don't know who
- 36:42Speaker 1: would invite this circus onto their team after seeing the
- 36:45Speaker 1: commotion created in Cleveland. Maybe maybe Arizona. Maybe Arizona starts
- 36:50Speaker 1: Shadoor week one. If you aren't gonna start Shador Sanders,
- 36:54Speaker 1: it's kind of it kind of goes back to the
- 36:56Speaker 1: Tim Tebow discussion from years ago. If you're not gonna
- 36:58Speaker 1: be serious about him, being your guy? Why bring him in?
- 37:02Speaker 1: And that will always hold Shadoor Sanders back fair or not.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson, though the last time we saw him play
- 37:08Speaker 1: was terrible twenty twenty four. His quarterback grating was seventy nine,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and that would put him in range with old man
- 37:14Speaker 1: Philip Rivers last year and Davis Mills. He was not good, Stucky.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Where do you think we end up landing on who
- 37:23Speaker 1: starts the year for the Browns? What direction do they go?
- 37:27Speaker 1: It's not like they expect to be all that competitive
- 37:30Speaker 1: in the North.
- 37:32Speaker 2: I honestly have no idea. I mean I've had a
- 37:33Speaker 2: guess right now, I think it would be Watson. I mean,
- 37:36Speaker 2: he hasn't played in over six hundred days though, I
- 37:38Speaker 2: just I don't think Sanders is the guy. And then
- 37:41Speaker 2: with Watson, you know they're going to move on from
- 37:43Speaker 2: him after this year due to the contract. So and
- 37:47Speaker 2: this is not the Browns are focused on two years
- 37:51Speaker 2: three years from now. I'd like what they've done in
- 37:53Speaker 2: the draft the past two years. They're just trying to
- 37:55Speaker 2: recover from the disastrous Watson contract. And so I think
- 38:02Speaker 2: that the way that they're looking at this is I
- 38:04Speaker 2: mean made with Watson. I think you probably have a
- 38:07Speaker 2: higher ceiling, like just the things are going to go
- 38:09Speaker 2: right and somehow he gets back to the quarterback that
- 38:12Speaker 2: he once was. But most likely it's gonna end poorly
- 38:17Speaker 2: no matter which quarterback is under center for the Browns
- 38:19Speaker 2: this year, and they don't they're fine with that. They're
- 38:21Speaker 2: look probably want to get their quarterback in next year's draft.
- 38:25Speaker 2: So maybe, but maybe there's a chance that with Watson
- 38:32Speaker 2: he gets back to some of his old form and
- 38:36Speaker 2: then you're able to get something for him.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Are they so candidates?
- 38:42Speaker 2: It's it's now it sounds like they're not interested in Soresby,
- 38:47Speaker 2: and I mean Bunkin came out and said they're not
- 38:50Speaker 2: gonna bid on him. But you never know what the Browns.
- 38:54Speaker 1: So I maybe.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Watson starts out hot and then someone gets hurt and
- 39:00Speaker 2: you're able to trade them. But then the other you
- 39:03Speaker 2: also could I could see the argument for like, all right,
- 39:05Speaker 2: well let's we have better weapons now, the offensive line
- 39:08Speaker 2: would be better shape. Let's just might as well see what
- 39:11Speaker 2: Sanders has after another year. So I don't know, it's
- 39:14Speaker 2: the Browns. Who knows.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I'm high on the Browns. You guys know this I
- 39:18Speaker 3: think that the Browns might be kind of nice.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Somebody's got to play.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Your loan that you did the Broncos, the Chargers stink,
- 39:27Speaker 2: the Rams stink. But you like you're in on the Browns.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You're setting up for a year of disaster. Kendra, I
- 39:32Speaker 1: don't know.
- 39:33Speaker 3: We're gonna see what our psychic has to say about that.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Boys we will be talking to about the Panthers last year.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Uh, this is true.
- 39:44Speaker 3: You did say that about words.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I do. Look, you've got plenty of time to change
- 39:50Speaker 1: your opinion on this, so or we're not gonna hold you.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Already logs the Browns in the app. It's sentenced down.
- 39:56Speaker 1: That doesn't mean that it's a good bet. Comes September, Okay.
- 39:59Speaker 3: You have a few. You're on the fucking Falcons, krabbit.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I hated that. The mean that, I I mean, I'm
- 40:05Speaker 1: still gonna I was gonna stand by it. It's a
- 40:07Speaker 1: seventy five to one long shot. But then immediately after that,
- 40:11Speaker 1: James Pierce got arrested. That was not in the plan.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Talk about a quarterback controversy with a ticket in your pocket.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I made that bet, and then the team signed Tua
- 40:22Speaker 1: and James Pierce was arrested this This was not in
- 40:26Speaker 1: the plan.
- 40:27Speaker 2: But anyway, Kender being all in on Deshaun Watson was
- 40:30Speaker 2: not on my bingo card.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I would think he would be on your on your
- 40:35Speaker 1: no touch list.
- 40:36Speaker 3: He is on my no touch list, but I'm praying
- 40:38Speaker 3: that it should or.
- 40:39Speaker 2: No one's on his no touch list.
- 40:42Speaker 3: God damn it.
- 40:43Speaker 1: All right, We'll save the rest of these updates for
- 40:45Speaker 1: our Thursday episode. A reminder that if you want to
- 40:49Speaker 1: get your questions in for the Thursday mail bag, you
- 40:52Speaker 1: can DM your questions to the Favorites Twitter account or
- 40:55Speaker 1: go to podcasts at Better Collective dot com and you
- 40:58Speaker 1: can ask us.
- 40:59Speaker 3: And anything or tweet us.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Yep or that, however you want to reach us. Come
- 41:06Speaker 1: Back Player of the Year, let's do that. Our plant
- 41:08Speaker 1: the Flag segment presented by Draft Kings, where the crown
- 41:12Speaker 1: is yours.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Might and shut up. I'm trying to plant my flag here.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Okay, you're really planning your flag in that thing. I
- 41:20Speaker 1: talked about this earlier. At the top of the Odds
- 41:22Speaker 1: board for Comeback Player of the Year is none other
- 41:26Speaker 1: than Patrick Mahomes at plus two hundred. He's followed by
- 41:28Speaker 1: Jayden Daniels at plus four fifty, Kyler Murray at six
- 41:32Speaker 1: to one, and Micah Parsons at ten to one. I
- 41:35Speaker 1: think there's about fifteen good options that you can make
- 41:37Speaker 1: a case for with comeback Player of the Year. We've
- 41:39Speaker 1: talked about a number of these guys already. The NFL
- 41:43Speaker 1: has made it clear that they don't want this award
- 41:45Speaker 1: to be, Hey, you sucked last year or in previous
- 41:48Speaker 1: seasons and you don't suck anymore. They wanted to be
- 41:52Speaker 1: you were injured and then you came back and had
- 41:55Speaker 1: a great year. Christian McCaffrey is the winner of this
- 41:57Speaker 1: award in twenty twenty five. He played four games in
- 42:00Speaker 1: twenty twenty four and was phenomenal last year. So just
- 42:04Speaker 1: to sit the baseline there, Kendra, where will you be
- 42:07Speaker 1: placing your dollars over on DraftKings as it pertains to
- 42:11Speaker 1: come back Player of the Year quickly?
- 42:13Speaker 3: I have two complaints about this. I also don't think
- 42:16Speaker 3: that Patrick Mahomes should be eligible to win this. But
- 42:21Speaker 3: since we're here and I want to complain, I'm gonna
- 42:23Speaker 3: say that Rookie of the Year, if you get hurt
- 42:25Speaker 3: in the preseason, it should be the same as the NBA,
- 42:27Speaker 3: where you should be eligible to win Rookie of the
- 42:29Speaker 3: Year the next year if you don't play a certain
- 42:31Speaker 3: percentage of games. I just needed to say that. However,
- 42:34Speaker 3: if I'm looking at this today, there are kind of
- 42:38Speaker 3: three options. Unfortunately, I do think that it will probably
- 42:41Speaker 3: wind up being Patrick Mahomes because they're going to allow
- 42:44Speaker 3: this and the media just eats it up and is
- 42:46Speaker 3: going to create the perfect just Taylor Swift scenario, come back,
- 42:50Speaker 3: love story, write a song, whatever. If I'm looking at
- 42:53Speaker 3: this right now, Kyler Murray good option for me. Micah
- 42:56Speaker 3: Parson's good option for me. And then I'm also gonna say,
- 42:59Speaker 3: further down the board, I'm looking at brock Bauers if
- 43:01Speaker 3: we think that Kirk Cousins can keep that team semi
- 43:04Speaker 3: afloat more so as like I'm going to buy it now,
- 43:08Speaker 3: sell it later type of ticket. But if I'm puching
- 43:10Speaker 3: it in, I'm gonna go Micah Parsons because if he
- 43:13Speaker 3: I get that, he might not be one hundred percent
- 43:14Speaker 3: week one, but if he can eat down in that
- 43:16Speaker 3: division of all divisions, I think that that's going to
- 43:18Speaker 3: give him some major hype.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I'm concerned about him not being available for the first
- 43:22Speaker 1: month plus of the season and all these other guys
- 43:25Speaker 1: getting a bit of a head start. I'm surprised you
- 43:28Speaker 1: didn't go with the Travis Hunter twenty five to one.
- 43:31Speaker 3: I just don't think that there's gonna be a enough
- 43:33Speaker 3: like you at that position. You're going to have to
- 43:36Speaker 3: really ball out to get some serious looks.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's got some serious competition on the board here, Stucky.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Where would you place your wager?
- 43:46Speaker 2: I don't know. NFL comeback player is not really my
- 43:48Speaker 2: cup of tea, but if I had to, I would
- 43:51Speaker 2: go Kyler Murray. We talked about what O'Connell has done
- 43:53Speaker 2: with way less talented quarterbacks than Mary and I'm starting
- 43:59Speaker 2: to come around on the Vikings and that division. That
- 44:03Speaker 2: division is like, I think the Bears could be in
- 44:08Speaker 2: for a bit of a decline. The line still a
- 44:11Speaker 2: lot of holes, and the Packers, I'm I am just
- 44:16Speaker 2: getting lower and lower in the Packers for each passing day.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Last year was their year. Unfortunately they had all the injuries.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I mean, you've los Parsons, you lose Craft, a couple
- 44:25Speaker 2: other key pieces. It's hard to overcome that. But now
- 44:29Speaker 2: the offensive line is very, very concerning the Parsons injury.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I'm starting to get lower them, so I think there's
- 44:37Speaker 2: opportunities in that division. It's also it's interesting that I
- 44:41Speaker 2: was looking at the NFL Coach of the Year and
- 44:45Speaker 2: you basically need Like the formula is pretty set, everyone
- 44:49Speaker 2: knows it. Like if you look back at the NFL
- 44:51Speaker 2: Coach of the Years over the past decade plus, you
- 44:54Speaker 2: basically need to win. I think the only coach that
- 44:57Speaker 2: didn't win double digit games was Brian Dable when he
- 45:01Speaker 2: won it with the Giants, and but they went nine
- 45:04Speaker 2: to seven in one. Like the formulas basically like win
- 45:08Speaker 2: double digit games when you weren't expected to. So like
- 45:11Speaker 2: your win total is you know, that's a good proxy,
- 45:15Speaker 2: maybe eight and a half or less. Two of the
- 45:17Speaker 2: names that jump out the most are like that. I
- 45:20Speaker 2: could see it happening with r O'Connell and Stefanski who
- 45:24Speaker 2: have won what three of the past five, because their
- 45:27Speaker 2: win totals are like seven a half to eight and
- 45:28Speaker 2: a half range. And then I could see in their
- 45:30Speaker 2: division them winning ten to eleven games and getting looks again.
- 45:36Speaker 2: But I would look Kylo Marray. I think he's gonna
- 45:38Speaker 2: just everything that's around him from the staff, to the weapons,
- 45:42Speaker 2: to the potential of that healthy offensive line, and then
- 45:47Speaker 2: the fact that I think that the other teams in
- 45:48Speaker 2: that division might be a little bit more vulnerable than
- 45:52Speaker 2: many might believe. I think you gotta look at.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Mary might be a vikingssts.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I think we might be a Vikings podcast by goal. Yeah,
- 46:05Speaker 3: should we start the row that the Norwegians are doing
- 46:08Speaker 3: because we know they're gonna steal that.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Melik Neighbors sixteen to one, he
- 46:12Speaker 1: only played four games in twenty twenty five, sensational talent
- 46:15Speaker 1: as a chance to be a part of a Giants team.
- 46:18Speaker 3: That see, are we also a Giants podcast now? Because
- 46:22Speaker 3: you guys, you guys know that I'm.
- 46:23Speaker 1: On the Giants just then that I'm willing to make
- 46:29Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe it's because I just recently finally
- 46:31Speaker 1: got my hands on my fantasy football magazine for the summer.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I'm getting all high on Milik Neighbors.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Sixteen, getting high on your own supplies, Crazy.
