- 5:44Speaker 1: the things that I have planned this week is we'll
- 5:47Speaker 1: do a deep dive into the producer era here of
- 5:50Speaker 1: the Indian music movement. And of course this music goes independent,
- 5:55Speaker 1: the power shifts into the hands of the producer a
- 5:58Speaker 1: little bit more So, what we'll do on tomorrow show
- 6:02Speaker 1: is we'll talk about that very interesting dynamic and a
- 6:05Speaker 1: very interesting piece here that is becoming very powerful in
- 6:10Speaker 1: the music industry in India. Today's episode, folks, the Sufi Resurgence.
- 6:18Speaker 1: This song that's playing underneath me right now is by
- 6:21Speaker 1: Fahim Abdullah. He collaborates with the great there Himanser. The
- 6:28Speaker 1: song is called Avada Angada and a great ode to
- 6:32Speaker 1: the genre of Sufi music.

- 13:32Speaker 1: my Ruckus Avenue Radio All Stars. To start it off,
- 13:36Speaker 1: Here's doctor Roy. How are you Doctor Roy?
- 13:38Speaker 24: Hey guys, this is Doctor Vory with today's word on
- 13:40Speaker 24: the Avenue. In film and TV news, the upcoming epic
- 13:44Speaker 24: Ramayana is said to make history with a massive four
- 13:47Speaker 24: five hundred screen release across the US, surpassing the benchmark
- 13:52Speaker 24: set by r Backed by Warner Brothers and starring Rondbrigapur,
- 13:57Speaker 24: the film is already generating global bluzz, with lands for

- 14:18Speaker 24: being hailed as a powerful moment for authentic representation and
- 14:21Speaker 24: self made talent on the world stage. In evenge News,
- 14:25Speaker 24: when music crosses borders, it finds new life, and that's
- 14:29Speaker 24: exactly what's happening with the song from rund Gehira Hua.
- 14:33Speaker 24: A group of university students in Georgia have reimagined the
- 14:36Speaker 24: track as a haunting a cappella performance, proving that pure
- 14:40Speaker 24: voices alone can carry emotion beyond language and culture. That's
- 14:44Speaker 24: it for today's word on the Avenue until next time.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Thank you very much, doctor Roy. Yeah, that Ramayana movie
- 14:50Speaker 1: is looking crazy, just wild, all kinds of special effects
- 14:55Speaker 1: going on, and I know that there's a version of
- 14:58Speaker 1: it where you have to wear goggles or glas or
- 15:00Speaker 1: whatever it is. So it's gonna be the big movie
- 15:02Speaker 1: of the year. We're in the middle of a Sufi
- 15:06Speaker 1: resurgence in music. Here's still Vender. The song is called Hasseine.
- 15:11Speaker 13: Very good job, Hassena, Suba Hassein very Sham Hassina ipi

- 15:49Speaker 25: Nobody look this even larger. They look kind of looking
- 15:56Speaker 25: curl look it gamely on a super Leavis Curnel look
- 15:59Speaker 25: in the play Nobody look at this.

- 17:15Speaker 13: Hasina Passina, John Hassina and Subas Mary Sham Hassina.
- 17:28Speaker 16: Is in the game.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Hasina is what is super music and it is deeply
- 17:42Speaker 1: rooted in of course, the the poetry, the the genre
- 17:47Speaker 1: of love and so much to do with devotion. So
- 17:50Speaker 1: that's one starting We'll get into more of it here,
- 17:53Speaker 1: but here's Mira Sharma with today's mindful minute.
- 17:56Speaker 26: What's up, Mirah, Hey, Sammy, Hey everyone, Mirah Sharma here
- 18:01Speaker 26: with your weekly dose of mindful sess helping you stay
- 18:04Speaker 26: self assured, spirited and strong. So I was back on
- 18:09Speaker 26: the red carpet IFLA over the past few days and
- 18:12Speaker 26: I asked some of the talent what their mindfulness go
- 18:15Speaker 26: tos are and honestly, my biggest takeaway from everyone was
- 18:20Speaker 26: don't start your day by picking up your phone. So
- 18:24Speaker 26: this week's message is simple, when you wake up, resist
- 18:28Speaker 26: the scroll. Instead, do something else.
- 18:31Speaker 27: Stretch your body, drink some water, read a few pages
- 18:35Speaker 27: off a book, or just take a moment to be still.
- 18:39Speaker 27: Try it for a week and see the difference it
- 18:41Speaker 27: makes to your energy and your mindset.
- 18:44Speaker 3: You've got this.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Thank you so much, Mira. That's the great Mira Sharma. Everybody.
- 18:49Speaker 1: This is Roomy.

- 20:43Speaker 4: Sony honey.
- 20:45Speaker 28: And only courage. Hey Honey, Hi honey.
- 21:02Speaker 11: As soon as.
- 21:09Speaker 28: Bedonium amat.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I mean the dude's name is Roumy. There's no way
- 21:29Speaker 1: that you can have him in a Sufi episode of
- 21:32Speaker 1: the show and not have an artist named Rumy. The
- 21:37Speaker 1: song is called Hania great stuff right there. And now
- 21:41Speaker 1: let's bring in Daniel Johnson from the United Nations News Department.
- 21:46Speaker 29: This is UN News Today with me Daniel Johnson. The
- 21:49Speaker 29: headlines cease Fars are largely holding in the Middle East,
- 21:53Speaker 29: but the straight of home news crisis continues and Iranians
- 21:57Speaker 29: are suffering increasing shortages. Will have the latest. Meanwhile, in Gaza,
- 22:02Speaker 29: most families are still living hand to mouth. The UN
- 22:05Speaker 29: Health Agency serves and how the UN is trying to
- 22:09Speaker 29: help South Pacific Islanders reclaim their home from the toxic
- 22:13Speaker 29: legacy of World War II. The head of the International
- 22:19Speaker 29: Maritime Organization expressed concern on Friday at the stalemate in
- 22:23Speaker 29: the straight offor moves between the US and Iran, warning
- 22:27Speaker 29: of growing risks to shipping and cruise safety. At least
- 22:31Speaker 29: twenty nine vessels have been attacked and ten seafarers reported
- 22:35Speaker 29: killed since the war began at the end of February.
- 22:38Speaker 29: There are also reports of some ships being boarded and
- 22:41Speaker 29: seized by Iran and the U S forces in the Strait,
- 22:45Speaker 29: which is a key waterway for oil, gas and fertilizers. Meanwhile,
- 22:49Speaker 29: inside Iran, concerns are growing over a looming shortage of
- 22:52Speaker 29: essential medical supplies. Despite an extended CEASEFA announcement by President
- 22:57Speaker 29: Trump earlier this week, how far does not mean the
- 23:01Speaker 29: conflict is over, said Christian Cortes Cardosa, the Deputy Region
- 23:05Speaker 29: of Director for the Middle East and North Africa at
- 23:08Speaker 29: UN partner the International Federation of Red Cross and Red
- 23:11Speaker 29: Crescent Societies IFRC. He insisted that the consequences of weeks
- 23:16Speaker 29: of intense conflict will continue to be felt by Iranian
- 23:20Speaker 29: society for months and years to come. Hundreds of Iranian
- 23:24Speaker 29: health facilities have been hit and there is increasing concern
- 23:27Speaker 29: about access to key services such as dialysis machines and
- 23:31Speaker 29: prosthetic devices because of destruction to manufacturing as a result
- 23:36Speaker 29: of the war, the IFRC factory that supplies sixty percent
- 23:40Speaker 29: of the country's dialysis filters, only has enough raw materials
- 23:43Speaker 29: to continue production for the next three months. Desperate and
- 23:48Speaker 29: dangerous conditions in Gaza continue to hamper recovery efforts for
- 23:51Speaker 29: the war torn Enclaves people. The UN Health Agency said
- 23:55Speaker 29: on Friday today, more than eighteen hundred health facilities are
- 23:59Speaker 29: partially completely destroyed in the Strip. According to the Weld
- 24:02Speaker 29: Health Organization WHO, this includes large hospitals such as Alshifa
- 24:08Speaker 29: in Gaza City, along with smaller primary health care centers, clinics,
- 24:12Speaker 29: pharmacies and laboratories. The agency's representative in the occupied Palestinian territories,
- 24:18Speaker 29: Dr rein Hilde van Dervit, described the massive needs.
- 24:22Speaker 30: More as Palestinian families than Gaza remain displaced, delive in
- 24:26Speaker 30: plants amidst the rubble, dependent on humanitarian systems for the
- 24:31Speaker 30: most basic of their needs, and despite the ceasefire, airstrikes,
- 24:36Speaker 30: shining and gun fire continued.
- 24:38Speaker 29: Doctor van der Vit described Meter's high piles of rubble
- 24:42Speaker 29: and widespread disease linked to rodents. She said that a
- 24:45Speaker 29: lack of laboratory equipment being allowed into Gaza had left
- 24:48Speaker 29: health teams blind and insisted that blocks must be removed
- 24:52Speaker 29: on deliveries of essential medicines and supplies. More than eighty
- 24:56Speaker 29: years after World War II, the Solomon Islands remains one
- 24:59Speaker 29: of the the most heavily mind contaminated places in the Pacific. Today,
- 25:04Speaker 29: the UN is supporting the process of making the islands
- 25:06Speaker 29: safe again, but the risk to public health from corroding
- 25:10Speaker 29: munitions is growing. For many years, Irelanders have suspected that
- 25:14Speaker 29: this toxic legacy has been harming them and their children,
- 25:17Speaker 29: and now a UN partnereds study has found strong evidence
- 25:21Speaker 29: to back this up by confirming the presence of heavy
- 25:23Speaker 29: metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium, and explosive residues. Leading
- 25:28Speaker 29: the study, funded by Japan and supported by the UN
- 25:31Speaker 29: Development Program UNDP, doctor Stacey Pitzino from the University of
- 25:36Speaker 29: Queensland explained that unexploded ordnance, also known as UXO, is
- 25:41Speaker 29: part of daily life there.
- 25:43Speaker 31: Ux so you can see them in the reefs when
- 25:45Speaker 31: you're traveling, when you look down off a boat. Unexploded
- 25:48Speaker 31: ordinance are used as anchors in the canoes, and children
- 25:52Speaker 31: are interacting with devices on a regular basis so in
- 25:55Speaker 31: one area that we were in, we were hearing explosions
- 25:59Speaker 31: fairly regular basis, and the children were playing with the
- 26:02Speaker 31: devices and harvesting the explosives out of them to create
- 26:06Speaker 31: bangers so to block coconuts.
- 26:09Speaker 29: The UN studies findings are the first of their kind
- 26:12Speaker 29: in the Pacific. Making areas safe is a slow and
- 26:15Speaker 29: complex operation because the contamination threat is vast, but it
- 26:20Speaker 29: changes everything for islanders who say they don't have to
- 26:22Speaker 29: worry for their children and can plant crops for UNDP.
- 26:27Speaker 29: Clearance is central to development. It warns that time is
- 26:30Speaker 29: running out as more hazardous chemicals leak into the environment,
- 26:34Speaker 29: huming reefs, sea life and coastal communities. Daniel Johnson, UN.
- 26:39Speaker 1: News thank you so much. Daniel, thank you very much
- 26:41Speaker 1: for that. Daniel Johnson appears every week here on the
- 26:44Speaker 1: Bridge as part of our partnership with the UN News Department.

- 33:12Speaker 15: Gosh, I am so excited to be part of I
- 33:16Speaker 15: s T. It is about four incredibly talented individuals.
- 33:21Speaker 34: If I may say so, that's about myself.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Yes, gosh.
- 33:26Speaker 15: We got Rama Valui, just the glue and just a genius.
- 33:30Speaker 15: He is our wonderful talented uh you know voice, He's
- 33:35Speaker 15: a he's a voice of artist out of Los Angeles.
- 33:37Speaker 15: We got the incredible Coopra Saint, who I've been a
- 33:40Speaker 15: fan of forever. With this wonderful actress out of Mumbai,
- 33:44Speaker 15: saying goes with Uberoy, incredible act out of Mumbai. And
- 33:47Speaker 15: then I am usually based out of Los Angeles, but
- 33:51Speaker 15: I'm currently in Karachi, Pakistan.
- 33:54Speaker 34: And it is about four incredibly talented individuals.
- 33:57Speaker 15: Coming from the Diasporaus, coming from the mother land, but
- 34:01Speaker 15: having these very different lives that you get.
- 34:05Speaker 34: To experience and then you get to learn about what
- 34:08Speaker 34: it's like to be someone even though you come from
- 34:12Speaker 34: the same diasphora, but having these incredible, four different lives
- 34:17Speaker 34: that we get to experience and we got to talk
- 34:19Speaker 34: about what it's like, how we became artists, the way
- 34:23Speaker 34: we did, and everything that goes in between.
- 34:26Speaker 1: So wow, wow, my first of all, Mona mind blown
- 34:30Speaker 1: for everybody that's finding out about this for the very
- 34:32Speaker 1: first time, because you have four incredible individuals. And I
- 34:35Speaker 1: love the title because it's ict the four of you
- 34:37Speaker 1: guys are in four different places around the world from
- 34:39Speaker 1: what I pick up here, which is really cool. But
- 34:42Speaker 1: then the dialogue remains about what you guys do and
- 34:46Speaker 1: how it is and I and that's really interesting. Now
- 34:50Speaker 1: a little birdie told me that you guys dive into
- 34:53Speaker 1: the individual stories of each four of you guys of
- 34:56Speaker 1: the first few episodes and the first one being about you, Mona.
- 35:00Speaker 1: So like, you know, the four of you get together,
- 35:02Speaker 1: you start doing a podcast together here and you know,
- 35:05Speaker 1: you flip a coin in the very first episode is
- 35:08Speaker 1: you know the Mona shake spotlight here Mona, you know,
- 35:10Speaker 1: how did that feel and how does it to kind
- 35:13Speaker 1: of share your story with three other very remarkable individuals
- 35:16Speaker 1: here on a podcast.
- 35:18Speaker 34: Gosh, no pressure, no pressure, there, no pressure whatsoever.
- 35:24Speaker 15: You're actually airing my laundry lines and whole online.
- 35:27Speaker 34: Get them reported. No pressure.
- 35:29Speaker 16: Uh.
- 35:30Speaker 34: Definitely made me nervous. I got you know. Also, I'm
- 35:34Speaker 34: not gonna lie. There was a sort of intimidation factor
- 35:37Speaker 34: for me.
- 35:37Speaker 15: I mean that Who Brought and Upshare are so unbelievably established.
- 35:42Speaker 15: Rama is so unbelievably established, and to be among these
- 35:46Speaker 15: brilliantly talented people and to be able to talk about
- 35:49Speaker 15: and it becomes you know, I'm the focus of the
- 35:52Speaker 15: first episode.
- 35:53Speaker 34: Gosh, I'm the one who's like breaking the ice. No
- 35:57Speaker 34: pressure at all.
- 35:58Speaker 15: I'm only biting my name and pulling my hair out,
- 36:01Speaker 15: and thank god nobody gets to see that.
- 36:02Speaker 34: But good lord, it has.
- 36:05Speaker 10: You know.
- 36:06Speaker 15: It was just so unbelievably you know, eye opening. Also
- 36:13Speaker 15: things that I didn't know about myself that I.
- 36:15Speaker 34: Got to learn, you know, because of what I experienced
- 36:18Speaker 34: in this episode.
- 36:19Speaker 15: So you just got to tune in and really find
- 36:22Speaker 15: out like this, it has been just such a wonderful experiences.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I can only imagine.
- 36:28Speaker 10: You know.
- 36:29Speaker 1: First of all, I don't even know, uh, I don't
- 36:34Speaker 1: even know if you can keep a straight face through
- 36:35Speaker 1: this thing, for by the way, because I know it's
- 36:37Speaker 1: gonna be riproaringly funny just throughout it all, just the
- 36:40Speaker 1: individuals I know, you guys all and it's like really
- 36:42Speaker 1: interesting to see what the four of you guys will
- 36:44Speaker 1: do sharing a microphone together and sharing these experiences and
- 36:47Speaker 1: diving into what individual you all go through. And I
- 36:50Speaker 1: feel like tuning into this show, Mona, I feel like
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'm making four new friends. You know how that is
- 36:58Speaker 1: that a pretty accurate assessment here.
- 37:00Speaker 15: That is an absolutely spot on description of what this
- 37:06Speaker 15: is the show is about.
- 37:07Speaker 34: You are absolutely making four friends.
- 37:09Speaker 15: And and on this one, I'm not the only comedian.
- 37:12Speaker 34: We're apparently all comedians on this one. Because it is
- 37:15Speaker 34: there's a lot of jokes.
- 37:18Speaker 15: Uh, there's a lot of laughing, and there's a lot
- 37:21Speaker 15: of really you know, very you will hear so many
- 37:26Speaker 15: like sirrtual things being talked about. You're going to listen to,
- 37:30Speaker 15: you know, experiences that we have working in entertainment. You're
- 37:32Speaker 15: going to hear just hilarious things and the banter and
- 37:37Speaker 15: basically the roasting that goes on of each other.
- 37:39Speaker 34: So there, because there's a lot of good stuff dig into,
- 37:43Speaker 34: I don't want to live.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I love it, Moda, you you have my attention. We're riveted.
- 37:48Speaker 1: We can't wait for Thursday, and I can't wait to

- 45:09Speaker 17: Fi Fi Fire.
- 45:15Speaker 11: John Bag.
- 45:34Speaker 1: You start to wonder why this music doesn't go away.
- 45:40Speaker 1: It's very interesting and I think it has a lot
- 45:42Speaker 1: to do with, of course, poetry, but I also think
- 45:45Speaker 1: it has a lot to do with the conditions of
- 45:47Speaker 1: the music industry right now out there. A lot of
- 45:51Speaker 1: what you're hearing and seeing out there so commercialized and
- 45:53Speaker 1: so I don't know, call it plastic or fake or whatever,
- 45:58Speaker 1: but Sufi music seems to be one of the last
- 46:01Speaker 1: kind of protected bastions of all of South Asian music,
- 46:04Speaker 1: where it still is what it is and it's modernized
- 46:07Speaker 1: in the right kind of ways, if you will, through
- 46:09Speaker 1: artists like of course Arhiman and set Tinder, Sathage and
- 46:13Speaker 1: artists like that. Very interesting. What Capriana, Hey everyone.
- 46:18Speaker 38: It's Rihanna with the news only on Diaspora, Rising Global
- 46:21Speaker 38: News from a South Asian lens on Rakis Avenue Radio.
- 46:23Speaker 38: You're Home away from Home. We start the week with
- 46:25Speaker 38: something escoating quietly but rapidly, global cyber attacks. Security agencies
- 46:30Speaker 38: across North America Europe and parts of Asia are investigating
- 46:33Speaker 38: a coordinated wave of ransomware and infrastructure targeted cyber attacks. Banks,
- 46:37Speaker 38: telecom providers, and government digital portals have reported attempted breaches.
- 46:41Speaker 38: Officials have not confirmed a single source yet, but cybersecurity
- 46:45Speaker 38: analysts are calling this one one of the most aggressive
- 46:47Speaker 38: coordinated digital offenses in recent months. India's Ministry of Euptronics
- 46:51Speaker 38: in It has reportedly increased cyber defense monitoring protocols, urging
- 46:55Speaker 38: financial institutions and techroms to tighten security and audits. With
- 46:59Speaker 38: India's of Digital Payments Ecosystems UPI transactions crossing billions monthly.
- 47:04Speaker 38: Cyberstability is national stability. Wars aren't only fat with weapons anymore, they're.
- 47:08Speaker 28: Fat with code.
- 47:09Speaker 38: In South Asia is now too digitally powerful to ignore it.
- 47:12Speaker 38: But tell us your thoughts. Follow our rockis Avenue Radio.
- 47:14Speaker 38: This is Randon with the news every Monday the Thursday
- 47:16Speaker 38: and I Heart Radio and Nexus Avenue Radio dot Com.
- 47:19Speaker 1: See you guys tomorrow, Thank you, Rihanna, See you Manyana.
- 47:25Speaker 1: This is one of my favorites. When you start talking
- 47:27Speaker 1: about Sufi music, there's a lot of artists that I
- 47:29Speaker 1: could play here and We're not done here. The show's
- 47:32Speaker 1: not over, but there's still probably eighty more artists that
- 47:35Speaker 1: I could play that are very deserving of this show.
- 47:39Speaker 1: But of course, managing all sentiments around this episode and
- 47:43Speaker 1: the show that we do here every morning thought this
- 47:45Speaker 1: was a great breakdown. Here's out the Voslom everybody. The
- 47:49Speaker 1: song is called doj dot a hot em.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Get so much? The needy China surgy on likoda.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Do mana could be made of.

- 57:31Speaker 1: there is Sufi music. It went through the ups and
- 57:34Speaker 1: downs of all of it right there. And maybe the
- 57:37Speaker 1: flex these days of being the biggest and loudest in
- 57:40Speaker 1: the room isn't the thing that everybody's looking for. They're
- 57:43Speaker 1: still looking for this personal touch that this genre brings
- 57:47Speaker 1: to you. It still does. It's undeniable, and there's some
- 57:51Speaker 1: artists that will always remind you of that feeling. And
- 57:54Speaker 1: for me, it's this this man right here, the great Khan.
