- 0:44soup it up. Okay, so I came across this
- 0:46story. It was in the news recently
- 0:48actually and only in the last kind of wheat as a British
- 0:50comedian, who is from Scotland and a name, is Fern Brady.
- 0:54And she's quite famous. She does a BBC three podcast,
- 0:57which is quite a funny podcast and she's a comedian.
- 0:59She's sold out stuff like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
- 1:01She saw that venues there for her comedy and stuff.
- 1:03And she's really funny girl. And, you know, a pretty good
- 1:06laugh, and she's awesome, but she's super famous actually, and
- 1:09she A great job and I'd love to interview it by the way.
- 1:11So if anybody knows her, I can reach out to her.
- 1:13Yeah. Well, I don't know, I want to
- 1:15interview that was super awesome.
- 1:16So she recently released a statement on Twitter that got
- 1:21like 20,000 likes saying that she had been diagnosed with an
- 1:26Autism Spectrum Disorder. Now, this is groundbreaking
- 1:28because nobody kind of expected this.
- 1:32You just kind of came out of the blue like, oh, fun Brady's
- 1:34autistic and I think it's super, super awesome.
- 1:37Now, the story of how it happened is kind of Typical, you
- 1:40know, she's a young girl who was diagnosed with OCD and I did
- 1:45explore personality, neurological conditions, all
- 1:47that kind of stuff when she was younger.
- 1:49I think she said between the ages of 11 and 15 and they then
- 1:52basically said all know, you're making eye contact.
- 1:54You can't possibly be autistic. I mean it just look I have a
- 2:00entire series all about girls and autism spectrum disorder.
- 2:03So I will leave a link for that playlist in the description
- 2:06below and I'll put it in a pin comments.
- 2:08You can check out that video. Playlist of all the videos.
- 2:10I've done talking to girls on the Spectrum, talking about
- 2:12girls on the Spectrum, everything to do that.
- 2:14You'll need to know about girls and Spectrum.
- 2:16One of them is that people can make eye contact and still be on
- 2:18the autism spectrum. It's not a, you make a contact.
- 2:21You can't be artistic kind of deal.
- 2:22It's the most ridiculous thing ever to think that.
- 2:25So Fern. Brady.
- 2:26She was, you know, happy that she had this diagnosis of OCD
- 2:31like, you know, okay. Well, okay, fine.
- 2:32I'm happy with that order, but then she realized that there was
- 2:34some other stuff going on and somebody kind of, you know,
- 2:37pushed, I think it was her hurts.
- 2:39When she's at her friends or her family, like, you know, maybe we
- 2:42should go and speak to a, you know, a doctor, ask for a
- 2:44referral, maybe get checked out. And so she was having these
- 2:47issues that were, that were, you know, parallel with that on the
- 2:50autism spectrum. So she goes to an assessment and
- 2:52then near the docks that yeah. It looks like you are
- 2:54potentially on the autism spectrum.
- 2:55But to form a formal diagnosis. One will have to go on to the
- 3:00NHS waiting list, which is about a year, maybe two years or you
- 3:03can go privately, you know, they're out there are options
- 3:05obviously. So she look a little bit like
- 3:07she was like, no. So she didn't To go to the NHS
- 3:10wingless because it takes far too long and understandably.
- 3:12So and if she has the money to go privately then why not?
- 3:15So she went privately to get a diagnosis and she was diagnosed
- 3:18autistic, which is kind of liberating deliberating on a few
- 3:20fronts. It's liberating for her because
- 3:22she's a young female, you know doing her thing and she is
- 3:26diagnosed autistic. And that's great.
- 3:28The other thing is that she is a you know personality a celebrity
- 3:32a person of kind of Public Image, which is good because you
- 3:36know it her story is one in like a And people who probably
- 3:40wouldn't even get that diagnosis name because it weight on his
- 3:43NHS weightless and then get forgotten about and all that
- 3:45kind of stuff which is just horrendous and nobody wants that
- 3:47to happen. And I think that she her showing
- 3:51her herself and her vulnerability and all that kind
- 3:53of jazz is just absolutely phenomenal.
- 3:55I think she's done. I think she's done a great job.
- 3:57I think she's a great candidate for showing people how you can
- 4:02have really good successful careers, entertainment creative,
- 4:06you know, young woman, killing it in the in the industry.
- 4:09She's and I think that's amazing.
- 4:10We should all salute her because like she's just doing a great
- 4:12job and it's great. It's inspiration for young girls
- 4:16who are grown up on the autism spectrum and I want to see,
- 4:18like, is there somebody who I look up to is there.
- 4:20Somebody who is killing it right now?
- 4:21I'm like, yeah, firm Brady's. Absolutely killing it.
- 4:24She's a beast. Like this is so dope.
- 4:26So in terms of that, I think that she's doing a great job and
- 4:29that. Yeah, this is just so
- 4:31inspirational for people guys. If you think this was
- 4:33interesting, give it a thumbs up.
