Opening day for fall camp. And I'm super excited tonight because you guys don't get to hear me banter all night long. Adam Fisher: Mm. Ted Turner: I got the crew. The I'm I I don't even know what the nickname you guys, the wrecking crew, the I don't know, the dog pound. I got the dog pound here tonight. I got my man Adam Fisher: There you go. Ted Turner: Fish, Rich Man. This is kinda like a family reunion type thing here tonight. But I'll go to each one of you guys. How's it going, Fish? How's your summer been? Adam Fisher: Good man. Can't complain. You know, just hot. You know? We're we're in that that midsummer it's the real feel is a hundred degrees or better every day down here in Savannah, man, and I'm ready for it to be over. It's just another reason for football season to hurry up and get here, man. Ted Turner: Yeah, man. Yeah. I I will yeah, I will plead the fifth because this this Florida mess, this ninety six greasy, nasty, let's just put it this way, pumpkin spice latte can't come quick enough. Adam Fisher: You ain't lying. Ted Turner: Rich yeah. Rich man, what's up, my man? How are you? Richman: Good man, good. And this Atlanta weather up north, it still sucks. It's just Adam Fisher: Yeah. Yeah. Ted Turner: Yeah. Richman: like I don't know, eighties, ninety high eighties, nineties and and humid and I'm ready for I'm ready for September, October. If Adam Fisher: Yes, sir. Richman: I could skip August, Ted Turner: Yes. Richman: if I could skip August, I'd sign off right now. Adam Fisher: Nobody cares about the preseason. Just yep, straight to August. Let's Ted Turner: I grew. Adam Fisher: go. I mean September, let's go. Ted Turner: Yeah, man. Agreed, agreed. Well, man, it's good to have you guys tonight, man. It's gonna be fun. it's gonna be fun, fun, fun. I'm gonna hit on a couple of topics. if you haven't already done so, for all the listeners and followers, please go and like and follow us on Dogs Down South, TikTok, Facebook, Apple Podcast. man, YouTube's growing. Thanks everyone for the follows, all the likes, all the listens. so it's been going really well. Hey, it's it's like Technically day three of camp, day one and two, everybody kind of checked in. We got our roommate assignments. We kinda got locked in. Probably a lot of meetings going on. you know, nowadays with the players with so much social media, they kind of give it away what's going on, you know. So used to be, man, like the team would hit the field and the media wouldn't even know it. And now it's like everybody knew boots were on the I'm sorry, cleats are on the ground as I'm referring to it. today already practice notes out, but before we get into that. I I wanna get man, I'm I'm gonna really chime in on this dog pound stuff, man. I'm gonna let you guys bark a little bit. I I I really got tore up, man, in a TikTok post about old Kirk Signetti when I when I when I kind of You know, we're talking about the Big Ten, the SEC, and I know before we got on and before Fishy came on, me and Richman were talking about you know, Indiana and the state of the of the NIL stuff and we'll talk about the new NIL deal proposal, which I went over last night on that latest episode. But what do you guys think about all this banter about Kirk Signetti and and you know, you guys be cordial to each other. I know this is gonna be barking all over each other, but What do you guys think about Kirk Signetti? The claims of, you know, they think that he there's no doubt in our minds that he's he's definitely the best college football coach in America right now. on the hottest team that can't be touched. And, you know, what what's your take on 'cause man, I got eaten alive, man, and honestly, I got to the point where I was like, There's no point in commenting back because these Indiana fans, obviously, they know it all. So Richman: Dude, it's typical Big Adam Fisher: Yeah. Richman: Ten, man. Just go ahead and award them the trophy and skip the season. I mean that w we don't even need to play. That that that's that's Big Ten for you right there. They they get those trophies every year before the season. Ted Turner: And mail in. You get a you get a replica Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: before the year so you know what you get at the end of the year. Richman: I mean they they've Adam Fisher: That's right. Richman: won the last two years, so I mean kudos to them, but every year for as long as I can remember, you know, they're always one or two. And you listen to the Riffraff and give the trophy and forget the season. Ted Turner: Yeah. Fish, what do you think about Signetti, man? What do you what do you what's your take? I don't I don't dislike Signetti. I just want to have a conversation about how real this really is. What do you think about Signetti, Fish? Adam Fisher: I mean, okay, so he did what he was supposed to do. He he's bringing attention to him, he's bringing attention to the Big Ten, he's bringing attention to Indiana. You know, and all that bumping his gums and saying what he said, you know, that's just that's part of it. That's part of the whole thing, you know, and if he feels like he's gotta talk smack like that and take shots and things like that, then more power to him. You know, Kirby, some of the more, you know seasoned coaches down here, don't need to do all that. You know, been there, done that kind of a thing, you know. He's new to the party. He's he's excited. You know, you c you can't you can't hate the man, you know, for for lifting his program up and his conference and talking smack. I mean, he's a he's a clown. And what he said was was hilarious. You know, and you know, there's three teams in the Big Ten, then who else is there after that? There's Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State, and after that you've got nothing. The drop off is almost straight down. You know, I mean Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Adam Fisher: there's no gradual decline in talent or, you know, power or whatever you want to call it. And, you know, he's got unlimited NIL funding, basically. You know, Mark Cuban basically financed that championship run last year, you know, and y he's you know, kudos. More power to Congratulations. I watched the game. It was good. Richman: Don't don't forget he's got the new system where you only practice two hours a day and you're national champion. So don't forget that. He's he's perfected this system. Adam Fisher: Yeah. Yeah, and he's got he's got got a bunch of twenty five got a bunch of twenty five, twenty six year olds on the team. I think the average age of the team was like twenty five, twenty six, something like that. Bunch of NFL players. People that should be in the NFL, you know. So, you know, it is what it is. You know, that's not that we won't have the same thing happen this year, you know. It it won't be like that, you know. Georgia's gonna Take it home, bring it back to the SEC, and then we won't be having this conversation next year. Richman: Yeah, you'd think that he would prove his system with two or three rings before he starts Adam Fisher: Exactly. Self appointed king of college football. Ted Turner: That's one of those Yeah. Richman: Ha ha ha. Ted Turner: That's one of those things where you like back in the day when you're in the in the in the you know, that the backyard with your friends, and you know, you know there's one guy out there that was a really great basketball player and everybody was playing one on one, and you beat him by like one shot, right? And then you just started talking so much smack because you finally beat that person, but you know good and well. that the words that's gonna come up and go rematch, right? And then he just he just dusts you, man. And it's like, Adam Fisher: Yep. Yep. Richman: Yeah. Yeah. It he beats you nine out of Adam Fisher: Rattles off eight in a row. Yeah. Richman: nine out of ten. Yeah. Ted Turner: Hey man, fluke. Fluke, right? It's just crazy. Adam Fisher: Yep. It's like I'm about to show you. Ted Turner: yeah, man. Rich man, you talked cigarette. Richman: Look, if if old Cigaretti don't if old cigaretti don't win it this year, he's gonna get smoked. So Adam Fisher: Well he Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: better and I'm gonna be right there with the lighter, smoking him. I mean, that's what happens when you talk all that smack. Unprovoked smack talk, dude. Unprovoked. That's what's so hilarious about all this. He just felt the need to go out there and say something. Ryan Day, you can tell Ted Turner: Well you Adam Fisher: Ryan Day's been there done that. Okay? Ryan Day is just chillin. He doesn't have to take shots. You know what I mean? That's sh it's whatever. Ted Turner: Well, you know, he had you you were talking about this, talking about Rich Man, the I've heard it and the you know, Kirby goes for the two hour practice. I've heard he's like, We can get it done in an hour, hour and a half. Well, I mean, when you got twenty five to thirty year olds, man, with full fam full families and obligations, and you know, I I he was the first one to take advantage of this extra fifth year. I don't know if you guys saw it. I don't know the name of the player, don't really care. that is a linebacker that is already back on the team, was undrafted, they've announced it, already took him back. Richman: Yeah, isn't that crazy? Ted Turner: Yeah. He I mean, but it but it's kind of right, man. I mean, they don't do they do fall camp because, you know, I don't know if they can be a I don't know if the players can be away from their like families that long. if they got significant roles. I'm I'm really I'm being very seetious right now, but Adam Fisher: No no practice on the first day of school. Ted Turner: right. Right. And I I mean we're going off Richman: Yeah, the and he was bragging about Adam Fisher: No. Ted Turner: on this a little bit, but like guys, At the end of the day, I just couldn't believe it. I I looked at records. I looked at the Big Ten. I agree with you, Fish. Like you look at teams that they played this, they played this year and their records last year. people like Purdue, people like Minnesota. I mean, we don't even talk about the out of conference games. And here's the thing I don't think people need to go to the fact of scheduling anymore because I think you can't get mad at the SEC finally seeing the clickbait and going, wait a minute. We're playing nine SEC games. So we're not gonna go out here and you know, we until the playoff committee will prove that that that strength of schedule means something, why are we going out here and playing anything? So so Georgia, I don't you saw Georgia this year, they're like, I really don't care what you say. We're gonna play Tennessee Tech, we're gonna play Western Kentucky, and we're gonna play Georgia Tech. Yeah, I put Georgia Tech in there. I mean, because we just feel like we don't have anything to prove, you know? I mean, and everybody's like, Well, and also Georgia's playing Florida State next year. Well, I mean, no offense. Florida State's not gonna have a coach next year, so that's probably no different than playing. I mean, I I do think this is Norvell's last year, I'll be honest with you, but that's a whole nother podcast. But let me let me let me kinda do an extension to this, right? 'cause 'cause before you came on fish, Rich man, you were talking about this and it'll kind of go into the conversation about this new ruling coming down. But like, how much did did Indiana fly under the radar? Because you gotta look at Indiana and go, nobody saw it coming. You know, you look at Fernando Mendoza, you look at the he's the first pick, you look at I mean, honestly, let's let's be honest. Let's get real. How how well at times the the offensive line, the defense looked for Indiana, the passing game, the run game. I mean, it was a well oil machine. It was, it was really good last year. But like they flew under the radar and f as far as like money, right? I mean, they shelled out as much as Texas and as much as Ohio State. And even Georgia per se, if you want to put up there, they they showed out as much money as they did. And but it was a little bit more under the radar. It was almost like they were talking big and bad about how the SEC need to this and the SEC need to that. Bro, you have a billionaire that's backing your entire football team that's foot in the bill. But Rich man, how how much if we can get this gap in and they can actually govern it? I hate to use that word because it's the NCAA and judges have been governing a lot of the NCAA lately. But if they can keep a hand on this, how much will that affect the teams like? I mean, will it bring us back to square one where the powerhouses from back in the day will get more notoriety? Because we all know, man, and we're not being biased. The pageantry at Georgia, you know, Athens, you know, s Sanford Stadium, I mean, i it it just it's just nothing, it's not a lot comparable to it, you know. If you're a player that has no background in going somewhere, like if you haven't been at somebody that grew up in Georgia, right? But like, why am I going to Indiana? I mean, what I mean, I saw the movie Hoosier's, but I even I don't even was that is that a high school? Richman: Yeah, if you're not a Midwestern kid, what's what's the what's the allure? I I don't know. Ted Turner: Right. Other than money. Adam Fisher: Exactly. Richman: I mean if if if I'm getting recruited by the Midwest and I'm a a decent athlete, I wanna go to the Buckeyes. That's where I wanna go. What about you? Ted Turner: And right, but from what and not to test you but like from what what would be the reason behind that? I mean, I don't know about you guys, but all I remember as a kid was you turned the T V on and you saw the silver helmet with the with the buckeye stickers, the big gigantic circular buckeye stickers and then you know, they played in a lot of big games. You saw playing against that was when Purdue was really good, Michigan, things of that nature, and you were like, Man, dude, that's you always see them. I wanna play for that team, you know? but who I mean Indiana was known for basketball. Richman: Yeah, I mean it looking in our in our era, I mean Penn State was Penn State was a was a powerhouse and Paterno was such a great coach that that that was an allure in Ohio State. but and Wisconsin used to be a you know, competitive I if you know, if it was me, I'd be looking at those schools, not not Ted Turner: Right. Richman: Indiana. Ted Turner: Right, right, right. R Richman: mean Indiana definitely would have to be dropping a check to get me to come up there. Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: Right. Right. I mean, you weren't those were Indiana was a school six years ago on PlayStation that you wanted to re you wanted to kind of what is it, redo redo the dynasty and get him to the national championship. Now Adam Fisher: Yeah. That's right. Yep. Ted Turner: yeah. I mean money's changed the game. Money's changed the game clearly and for some reason Indiana didn't see that. I mean, they even said it in those comments. They're like, Well, Georgia had this and Kirby had this and that's why he was successful. I don't think some of these people understand that I get what you're saying, but you don't understand that, and I love Mark Rick. I love Mark Rick. I think he's an incredible man. I think he's an incredible man of God. But like, as far as on the field and coaching, those were some of the most high blood pressure days of college football that I was ever a part of as a Georgia fan. Or Richman: Yeah. Ted Turner: none. And so People love to, and including Indiana, they love to sit there and go, Well, look what Georgia had. Look what Kirby walked into. What did he walk into? We were soft. We had good recruiting, but undeveloped players. And I'm and believe me, I mean, it's hurts to talk about. Because I like I said, I love Mark Rick, man, but we fell short in a lot of these errors. in these a lot of these areas. We had, I I feel like we had mediocre quarterback play at best. We ran the football because Georgia's always ran the football, but Richman: Man, we always struggled. We and we struggle our offensive lines struggled, man. We we Ted Turner: Right. Richman: we never had an Outland trophy winner. We never had all American linemen. You know, Ted Turner: Uh-huh. Richman: we we we just didn't ha I don't I always wondered about that, you know. We had all these skill players that were like great, went to the NFL, but we never had the you know the guys in the defensive line, offensive line. Well we had We had what's his name? A couple of defensive guys, nose guys that went to and played, but it was it was it was long and frustrating 'cause we were you know, we Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Richman: were we were we were very competitive, but we were not competitive at the at the highest level, you know? Ted Turner: Yeah. I mean, Fish, you remember me and when me and you would go to games. I can't remember this, but you know, the days of like I mean, yeah, we talked about David Pollock, but like we didn't talk about that defensive line as something that was like a as a whole that teams should be intimidated by. I mean, Champ Bailey was a name that stood out. I mean, the Fred Gibbsons, the I I just feel like we had these splash in the pans that were always had so much potential and you know, a and it just like They never got to where I think they could have gotten to, right? And don't get me wrong, there was a lot of great games that, you know, I remember the Auburn games where where David Green throws in the back of the end zone to Michael Johnson. I mean, there's a lot of that, but I think Indiana fans don't realize and and they think that they're just because we played in the SEC, I mean, there were years where one of the best teams I thought we had back in the day with Matthew Stafford, No Sean Moreno and all them. I mean, we I was cheering them on in the Sugar Bowl playing Hawaii, right? Is that Sugar Bowl? For nothing, right? We weren't we weren't getting anything out of that. And the hula bowl, I mean, dude, I'm cheering like a I'm in the back. I mean, we're cheering for that. And and Indiana is not even on the map. I mean, I don't even know what bowls they played in. So I I I think they're they have this figment of their imagination that Georgia was just on the scene. Kirby came in and the first year Kirby was here. Who'd we lose to the first year? I'll give you one of the most embarrassing losses of Kirby's first year. Will Muschamp, South Carolina, right? That one hurt, man. That one hurt really bad. Was that first or second year? Adam Fisher: That was his first year. Ted Turner: That was his first year, man. But yeah, man. I I I don't know. really quick though, the this act is called the and then we're gonna get into the meat and potatoes of practice today. the Federal Protect College Football Act. So basically the nuts and bolts of it. current revenue sharing cap at twenty-one point three million per school. Now this has been okay through the Big Ten and SEC just needs to be voted on. New proposal schools could add a twenty seven point five million dollar retention pool. So total potential spending about forty-eight point eight million per school on athletes of the new pool. 22.5 million could be used to retain players. Five million would support, this is the wild part about this one. Five million would support women's and and other non revenue sports. I'm sure other sports would love to read that part of the paragraph. But let me Adam Fisher: I know. Ted Turner: ask you guys this each. What do you guys think? What do you guys think drove this to becoming? I'll come to you, Rich Man first, because we talked about for you. What do you think drove this to happening, right? What what what made this come about? So what do you think with this, like, why do you think the main reason this is coming about? And I know my plug is is I think Texas and a lot of these big, big, big heavy, you know, donor style teams are like they're going, How how out of control can this get unless we do something? Right? 'Cause it's forty and fifty million this year, but it could be seventy and eighty million next year. Do you agree? Adam Fisher: Right. Yeah. No, I agree a hundred percent. Like that's why they're you know putting the cap on it. Well the cap, whatever you want to call it. because I mean it it it is, it has the potential to go nuts and go out of control. Like like in the NFL you see it, like Deshaun Watson's contract like set like records, highest paid, you know, quarterback in the NFL, two hundred and forty million dollars over however many years, and every year Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: one quarterback has a great year. You know, and then they have to make him the highest paid. And then this guy wants to be Ted Turner: Mm. Right. Adam Fisher: the highest paid. The next year this guy wants to be the highest paid. I mean it could like go nuts. It could get way out of control. And, you know, you don't want to see that happen in college, I guess. I mean, they're still gonna be millionaires, you know, and they're still gonna get paid and Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: they're still gonna make more money than I ever will. You know, and that's great. More power to because I enjoy the heck out of college football and college football wouldn't Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: exist without those athletes. So they deserve what they get, you know, they deserve their money. but Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: I mean that's why you gotta put a regulation on it. I mean, it's not to take anything away from anybody. It's just to kinda maintain the sport, which is very important because if the sport gets out of control and it gets out of hand and nobody can afford to do pay all these exorbit, you know, exuberant, I'm sorry, like salaries and everything, then it's just gonna go away. And then we're all gonna be sad. Ted Turner: Right, right. Adam Fisher: Because the game we love, Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: the game we grew up with, you know, loving and it was such a huge part of my life, I know it was a huge part of yours as well. It's just not gonna be the same. It's gonna be gone. So, I mean, we gotta protect it. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, man. It's it's it's crazy. I mean, I was very happy to see that something is coming this direction. some updates. I I would say some updates that are beneficial, crucial, but like I also still see the NCAA walking and treading very lightly with this with this topic, but it's needed. But I don't think it's it's being pursued hardest. You know, it's not being pursued as hard as it can be. So at the end of the day, it's a good thing for college football. I I'm I'm s I'm curious to see if it gets passed. But I'm also curious to see how they like doctrine this thing and how they like protect it. but anyways, well let's well fish let's move ahead a little bit. Obviously, today was the official cleats on the ground day for Georgia. Kirby had his presser this morning. Kirby was in his presser this morning. talked about things about his you know, obviously it's great to be back. Looking forward to a really great year, getting this time together to kind of be you know, problem free. Get away from your phone, get away from your girlfriend, your even your parents and friends, and just lock in, go to work. And there's a lot of, you know, he talked about how there's a lot of players really excited about this. You got a lot of players that look at this year and go, number one, when you get towards now your junior year, especially your senior year, you wonder like, is this it? Is this the last hurrah? Like Who am I playing with? I look to my left and right. And is this go time this year? Is this the is this the year that we could go out, put the puzzle pieces together and make a run? and so obviously tons of questions. obviously Dingy Richman back. tons of questions that he was asked, but a lot of the same stuff that was asked around SEC media days, and we'll kind of also go over in the notes. But Bish before we get in there, like how excited are you, man, that that that football is is starting. We are I think my countdown, I'm guessing on my countdown, I think we're on thirty-two days, man. But how excited are you? Adam Fisher: Okay, so confession while we're live, just because Ted Turner: Thirty one. Yep. Adam Fisher: okay. I'm a nerd, okay. ESPN is showing old games twenty four seven. Okay. Ted Turner: Uh-huh. Adam Fisher: I got recording. Okay, I record all college like college football, the ESPN shows on the channel. So I have like fifty games from last year on my D VR. So I sleep with the TV on, full disclosure, okay. Not not noise, just picture. Okay, 'cause my wife can hear it. She's got she can hear a mouse park ten miles away. So I have to have the volume down. So I've been watching just every night when I go to sleep. It's a football game. when I'm at home, if I'm like cleaning my room or the office or whatever, football's on. It's games from last year because I don't have any new content to watch, obviously. But I am ready. I'm eating, I'm sleeping, I'm breathing college football. I just spent two grand on Auburn tickets today. Got the parking pass, got the tickets. Boom. We're going. It's done. I'm ready. I can feel it. I can taste it. I can smell the the liquor in the air, you know, in Athens, you know, with everybody tailgating. Because we're in a parking deck and I swear to God, we're surrounded by just Lots and lots and lots of Georgia fans who are partying and getting crunk and getting ready to go in the stadium. And you know, just I can't wait. Can't wait. I'm excited. Ted Turner: Dude, you might have just you might have solidified. We were still debating what game we were gonna go to, man, but you might have solidified it, man. I mean, if we can go to George Auburn, man, we we can get up Adam Fisher: We're getting together. Ted Turner: there and yeah, man. So I don't know. We might need to hop off camera after this to talk about that. But Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: dude, I agree, man. I'm I'm I'm pumped. I think the players are obviously pumped, they're out there. And you know, everything is a is a progression. Now they'll they'll look at when they get out of camp and It'll get a little bit more real as scrimmages start to come into play. And usually by scrimmage one or two, usually two, we kind of figure out who's gonna get primarily the, you know, the the the important snaps at the beginning of the year. but man, we got some we got some live updates from today. I'm gonna be sharing these for the for the for everyone listening. if you're not already done so, go find us on Georgia. I'm sorry. Dogs down south on our TikTok page, I'm doing daily updates on camp. Okay. So pretty much camp, fall camp, and as well as leading up to the very first game, every single day we will have some sort of update, very small, but something to keep up with if you're on the move. And yeah, so it's gonna be exciting. But observations. So so right when we get off here, I'm gonna do an update on TikTok. So make sure you catch it. You can get the the the kind of small version of all this, but things that stood out today, Fish, let's go through them. I want to get your comments on this. But right out of the bat, a couple of noticeable things out of practice today. number one, Isaiah Gibson, the talented linebacker outside, I'm sorry, from the Warner Robbins was noted that he was lined up running with the defensive line today. Adam Fisher: Mm. Ted Turner: interesting. Interesting. I know that they've been trying to find A spot for Isaiah. He came in, very highly touted kid. I I do think one of the things that always scratched my head about is when he came in as a freshman, he got noticeably bigger, right? not necessarily put weight on, but he know he noticeably bulked up a little bit as far as muscle. And then this year, apparently he's taken another step in that direction. So he was noticeable that he was running with the defensive line group. He spent the first individual drills working at defensive end with Gabe Harris, who's coming back from that foot injury, other noticeables, Cadent Pro Throw was drawing praise for being kind of like the man without position. Although he's running a lot of his his reps are being ran with the wide receivers. But I think, you know, he's gonna have one of those years where what kind of exotic formation can we get him in to get him the ball? He has good hands, really, really talented kid. running backs working on catching the ball out of the backfield. one of the players that was focused on as far as taking those, I call him those Cash Jones reps, was Dwight Phillips Jr. So Adam Fisher: Yeah. Ted Turner: man, Dwight Phillips, I I hear Kirby raving about Dwight Phillips. So before I go any farther with any more of that up those updates, I want to give you a chance to chime in, fish, but So we talked about Isaiah Gibson, Caden Prothrow, Dwight Phillips, like what what what sparks, what do you what do you get from all that? Adam Fisher: Just I I feel like he's he's gonna he's gonna be taking reps with the wide outs until we figure out what the wide outs are gonna be. I think that's just Kirby's being safe, you know, 'cause the man can play anywhere. So I think Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: Kirby's just being safe. Plus we got three other good tight ends, you know, that are that are getting reps too, so that's spreading the wealth. That's spreading the the reps out, you know, so make sure that everybody gets reps. so I Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: like that. I I'm glad to I'm glad to hear that 'cause yeah, he's gonna be We we I want some packages for him. I'm sure Bobo I'm sure Bobo has gotten something, some sort of play, some sort of formation, some sort of package for him, some sort of red zone something, you know, down there on the goal line, maybe five, ten yard line, something like that. so I'm excited to hear that. just I don't know, man. Ted Turner: Yeah. You know, I agree with you. I I'll give you I'll give Adam Fisher: Just Ted Turner: you something else that this is pretty fun. it was noticed today that the quarterbacks, right, Gunnar Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, Montgomery, Hezekiah Miller, Bryson Beer, they're is i i also Mike Bobo, they're all rocking mustaches. I don't know if you read Adam Fisher: Really. Ted Turner: this or not. Adam Fisher: I didn't. Ted Turner: They're all rock rocking the stash. So noticeably Stockton has a s a a stash. I really I'm looking to see these pictures, man. Mike Bobo, all these guys. But that's the funny part. But I will tell you, what was noticeable today was everyone feels like that Ryan Puglisi has made a solid push to go. That is the second guy. So if you're looking at Puglisi and you're going, like, what is this quarterback room and how is it dialed in after Gunnar Stockton? Because we Gunnar Stockton is the guy. But apparently Ryan Puglisi has taken a huge step forward to solidifying himself for that second spot. I know there's a lot of stuff coming out of G Day. And you know, we're we're human. I mean, you know you know Puglisi's reading this stuff and looking at this stuff, but I thought that was really cool to hear. Other things that that were notable was Let's see. I'm reading through some stuff. Sakovy White Helton, Craig Dandridge, the the talented, speedy freshmen were noted that they were returning punts and returning kicks. specifically punts. Helton was going first. This was a a position that makes sense because you know, Zach Branch was doing this last year. we're obviously looking at Sokovy White Helton to take over in that slot position to take on. At least at first, a lot of the reps that Zach Branch was getting. so that I thought I found that very interesting. another thing I found very interesting from some of the notes were the defensive backs. they said immediately that Khalil Barnes stood out. He stood out as a guy that is fit in perfectly with this team. He's already got great dynamic with KJ Bolden, Dinkins, a lot of those guys, DeMelo Jones, Kyron Jones was noted that he was back on a pitch count. back there, but Fish, hearing all that, like I and I will tell you, I'm I'm really excited. I mean, I'm excited about football in general, but but the defensive side of the ball for me is is very exciting. And our secondary and the depth in our secondary, like speak a little bit into that. I know we talked a little bit about it postseason before this, but what are you excited about hearing those updates about the secondary? I know you really have you're really you're really high on Jamari Riddle too. Adam Fisher: Yeah, I am. And didn't is he is he injured still? Ted Turner: Mm mm. We're healthy. Wait, we ha we might Rich Adam Fisher: Okay. Ted Turner: Man back. Rich man, we we got you? Adam Fisher: There you go. Ted Turner: I see him. Adam Fisher: I see him too. Ted Turner: We gotta felt wait. I hear his lips moving. I see I hear his lips moving. That's crazy. I see his lips moving and we lost it. man, dude. Rich man's going through it, bro. Rich man's going through it. Adam Fisher: I hear his lips moving. Woo. But yeah. I know. I know. I know. short lived, but I'm glad we were all three able to still be here for at least a few minutes. hopefully we get him back Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, we saw it together again. Adam Fisher: soon. I I I I love a no fly zone. You know, the Legion of Boom was one of my favorite position groups ever that I've ever seen play. 'cause they can impact the game and I think we're putting something together. I think we got something going in the secondary dude. We can all stay healthy, okay? If we can Ted Turner: Uh-huh. Adam Fisher: if we can all stay healthy, especially like Ellis Robinson, KJ Bolden, you know, because Ellis Robinson was might have been the best cornerback in the SEC last year. I know he led the SEC in interceptions. And he didn't start playing right until about game five or six. So, Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: you know, that I'm interested to see I'm Cautious optimism, okay? Because whenever I tend to get excited about things or a certain guy or a certain position, like somebody something happens, something crazy happens. It's like I was Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Adam Fisher: talking to my daughter, okay, my youngest, was a big Zach Branch fan. Okay? We Ted Turner: Uh-huh. Adam Fisher: even got her a Falcons jersey. Okay? Number 17, Zach Branch. Like she's got the jersey. She she loves the man. And I don't blame her, because he was my favorite player on the offensive side of the ball last year too. So Ted Turner: Right. Adam Fisher: Like anyway, I got off track. But like so Ted Turner: You're good. Adam Fisher: when I get excited, okay, because we were talking about it, and then Jalen Walker, because I was telling her about another Georgia player who plays for the Falcons. And we got all excited about him. We were talking that he was gonna have a breakout year this year, he was gonna lead the team in sacks, you know, because Pierce isn't gonna be playing, you know, a hundred percent. So but then like yesterday, ACL gone for the Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Adam Fisher: year. So Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: I'm trying to I'm trying to hold it back. I'm trying I don't wanna get too hyped, you know, out in public, if you know what I mean. Ted Turner: Right. Right. Adam Fisher: Because I don't want karma to come get me. But yeah, I'm excited, dude. Like I said, cautious optimism, best way to explain it for me. We could have something Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Adam Fisher: special back there this year. Ted Turner: Yeah, no, I get it. I totally get it. it, you know, other things that, you know, you look at with expectations for fall are you're so excited, everybody's like just, you know, bar but we have to understand like what camp is about. I think Kirby does a really great job. There was shout outs from the strength and conditioning, which strength and conditioning spends ninety percent of the time in the offseason with them. And a lot of shout outs to a lot of players who have been very silent with their mouths, but have been very active with their work ethic. and those things stood out. And I think when you do that too, you have a great offseason in the weight room. I think that the health piece, longevity wise, throughout the season, shows up more, right? so one of those players that was shouted out that was also seen today that was doing an incredible job that, you know, Kirby said you know, is absolutely gonna help take the pressure off what he would say was all these questions about our passing game would be Jaden Reddell. And he had a he had a very good spring and there was questions in the in the media session about like, hey, like what do you think about Jaden Riddell? And Kirby was very frank about this. He was like, look, Jaden had a great spring. He had a he had a really great G Day. He had a really great twenty-three, twenty-four days of spring. But we're in camp, you know, and you would some of these players that come in now are it it's it's layers to these things, you know, it's levels to these things. But he hasn't fallen off. He hasn't fallen off. He had a really great summer. He was shouted out by you know the way the the strength and conditioning staff. So like where's where's the bar in this? It would be crazy to know that like players like Ethan Barbour, who's getting a second chance after you know, his injury, that like right now, if you really looked at like a one, two, three layers of depth, Ethan Barbour doesn't fall into that until like fourth. I mean, you got Laws and Lucky, you got Elias Williams. I Jaden Riddell comes into that play as far as, you know, positional type situations, but This tight end room is really locked and loaded. And that was that was noted by some of the stuff as well today. other notes was wide receiver, so Taylon Taylor, man, he's being coached up. you can tell people say this a lot of times, you can tell who Kirby knows has he knows who the players are that have the talent, the the the niche, the twitch to be to have a a really good year and he I think he coached him a little bit harder. So he was very, very up front and very in the face of Talon Taylor today. a lot, which kind of tells me something. And I'll I'll let you chime on this fish too. Like Talon Taylor's gonna be relied on this year to be a big boy, right? You've heard Sakovy White Helton, you've heard Cannon, you've heard London Humphreys, but Taylor, he he might be that it factor guy. What do you what do you what do you think, Fish? Adam Fisher: Well, okay, so I listened to a couple of radio shows. I watched Fine Baum religiously. That was something me and my dad always talked about all every day during football season, especially. We always talked about it. that's the name I hear the most when we talk about the wide receivers. Okay, it's it's Caden Pro and it's Talon Taylor. Like those are the ones I'm hearing about. I'm not I'm not hearing anything about anybody else. So that tells me that this kid has like a very high ceiling. And if he's not carrying the PTSD of dropping that wide open potential game winning touchdown against Bama, then he can get past that, which I'm pretty sure he already has, you know, then he could be special. And when you when when you hear a lot of people talking about it and I'm telling you, we've got a deep room, you know, maybe a lot of people that we don't know a lot about yet, like Isaiah Canyon, you know, the guy from tech, he's he's supposed to be our number one, you know, this year coming in. So but I'm not hearing anything about him. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Adam Fisher: So, you know, this guy, you know, hopefully the hype train doesn't, you know, run him you know, get to be too heavy for him. And but, you know, I'm excited, dude, fingers crossed, this kid could be something. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah, no, no, no. Yeah, I I agree with you. And and Canon is I think Canon's flying on the radar. Gunnar made some comments at the Peyton Manning Passing Academy, also made some comments around SCT Media Days that Cannon is a specimen in Pats. if I had to give you a little bit of a of kind of a stature, you know, look at a Colby Young last year and what he did for us. I I I think when you look at Georgia, Georgia's starting to get into this trend of going, okay, like If we're not gonna be that team that right now can can if we can't get those pass catchers right now, they're looking and going, I can go to Georgia and I can I can have a thousand yards receiving every year. However, we know what the makeup of that needs to look like. And I think if anything, we're into a little bit of that. Hey, so we got this productivity out of Colby Young, who's a guy that can give us that spark, big body wide receiver, go up and get And we missed that productivity when he was out for the time he was. I think Adam Fisher: That hurt. Ted Turner: Cannon reminds you a little bit of that guy. and that's a big role for us. and I think London Humphreys, I said it last night. not because, you know, he's a white boy in pads, but I I think London Humphreys and and and Ladd can get to remind you a little bit. London Humphreys is a guy that gets sneaky, right? This is a white this is a white white white Adam Fisher: I'm sorry. Ted Turner: boy right with wide receiver, right? And it's like, yeah, you go to Ladd. You know, no, it's not that at all. it's actually because they remind each other a lot because, you know, London's sneaky good because the way the ways that Ladd was, he runs he runs great routes. He knows he knows the defense, he knows where he's gonna be open. London's not gonna Ladd and London are not going to out finesse you. They're not gonna outrun you. They're actually gonna catch the ball in tight windows, they're not scared of of contact, and they're gonna do things that are gonna get them open, and it's not built off of just being a very elusive receiver. So, so that's interesting. But one of the things I'll add to that was that was brought to our attention. This is the last thing I have as far as an update was because you talked about injuries. Obviously, no Dante Daldell, still recovering from the ATV accident. there's no timetable for Dante to be back, but but he is doing better from what understand, but trying to get back into doing the day-to-day stuff, just just life day-to-day, which is Which is great news. obviously, no no one spotted Ameris Williams. you know, towards ACL defensive back, Justice Sitzpatrick was not noticed. A wide receiver, Trey Shields. But other than that, Kirby feels really good about the health of this team right now in camp. Now, you know he's gonna dial it up in camp. Today will probably be, you know, very you know, it's probably We're going to go out. We're going to get some practice outside. There's going to be a probably a lot of meetings, a lot of classroom stuff going on, type things. But for a first day, this was a lot to see. Also, when you looked at another comment was for someone who was limited this offseason with shoulder injury. Sophomore linebacker Zaydan Walker is already one of the more physically impressive players on the field. Much was said about this linebacker. Much was said about how these linebacker these linebackers were flying around today on day one. could this be the best linebackers the line the best linebacker crew we ever had? Fish, what do you think? Could could this be it? I mean Adam Fisher: Okay, they're awesome, but I don't know dude 'cause twenty twenty one was special. Nakoby Dean, Channing Tyndall, guy who got the number one pick, what was his name? Went to the Jaguars. I mean, those guys were special. And we had a lot of speed off the edges. I mean we still didn't get a lot of sacks. Still didn't have a lot of sacks, but still one of the best defenses in the nation. but they're they're they're special. And I can't wait to see what Chris Cole looks like in pads. Because I swear he doubles in size every freaking offseason. That dude is swole. Ted Turner: Yeah, it's funny. Adam Fisher: He's one of my favorite people. He's one of my favorite defenders we have. Definitely probably my favorite favorite linebacker. I love me some Chris Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: Cole. Ted Turner: Yeah, man. It's good stuff. Well, hey man, it's first day was exciting. A lot of things out there. I'm sure we'll get a lot of more a lot more stuff in days to come. But let's have a little fun at the end, fish. let's take let's take about five position groups and let's maybe talk like what we call our panic meter. Okay. As we digest what we're seeing in the first three, four days of of ball camp. I think it'll be important for for listeners if we kind of go where are we at as far as we haven't seen a lot as far as specimen, as far as sample size, but like on a scale of one to ten, ten being like boiling panicked, one being cool as a cucumber. where do you have some of these position groups at and why? So I think we're gonna do about five. So we'll we'll we'll do it down. We'll do defense, we'll go three, we'll do about six. So we'll do secondary, we'll do linebackers, and we'll do defensive line, then we'll do we're gonna do the quarterbacks. Let's let's do let's do running, let's do five. Let's do running backs, wide receiver, yeah, six wide receivers, offense, and offensive line. So let's start with this. Let's start on the defense side of the ball. So if you could if you could rate it right now, because we just kind of left this area, we really talked about the secondary and everyone who's coming back. But really quick, if you had 60 seconds, tell me your panic meter number for the secondary, including cornerback, safety, star, all of that. Tell me your panic meter and why you would give them that score. Adam Fisher: Okay, so ten being the most panic and one being chill. Ted Turner: Ten being boiling panicked, one being cool as a cucumber about that group. Adam Fisher: Okay. Four. Ted Turner: Okay, why? Adam Fisher: And and that's just because depth. Okay, 'cause if you know if one or two guys goes down Okay, if everybody stays healthy the whole season, one. Okay, but I didn't want to go one. I wanted to play safe, and I'm gonna say Ted Turner: Right. Right. Adam Fisher: four, and it has nothing to do with talent, it's just straight depth. That's it. Ted Turner: Right. I'm with that. I'm with that. yeah, I'm I'm kinda in that same range. I mean it's there's no sample size, but we're assuming sample size will be right now what we presume it will be, which is what we see of G Day, what we see of the makeup of this team, what we have coming back. I mean, this is a defense that has a lot of returning starters, a secondary that has a lot of returning starters. Adam Fisher: Yes. Ted Turner: I I'm I'm close to that number. I'm I'm liking it at at around a three. I'll I'll tell you what even gets me to three. Injuries are part of the game. I get it. So it's hard to vote that in, but the thing I wanna see is is what Kirby said in the presser. He said, you know, we can teach them to do anything, but the biggest thing that sets them apart about who's gonna be playing on Saturdays is and he said this because this is you know, nine times out of ten, this is gonna be the challenge from Georgia and how their defense is is is built. Is you gotta be able to tackle, you gotta be able to play man coverage, and you have to be able to know how to go up and adjust for the football in deep in deep ball situations. All things that you've seen us and I would say if I ranked those, I think tackling would be last. I really feel good about our secondary and how we've tackled in the last two, three years. I Adam Fisher: It too. Ted Turner: feel like man coverage is a strong suit for us, but I do feel like the aggression and the man coverage has put us in bad situations in our past. Where the deep ball has affected us because we took bad adjustments and angles. that's the only thing that worries me. Everything else, I mean, I love KJ Bolden. I really like how Jamar Riddle and Khalil Barnes are gonna fit into this. I think Dinkins is kind of who's gonna get in the star, who's gonna be playing with KJ. And then I love the cornerbacks. I mean, obviously Ellis, Stamello, I mean, you got Kyron Jones, you got some names over there. Fitzpatrick, if he's healthy. you got some names over there that could really help with depth, but I'm kinda with you. It's a safe number, but that's the reasoning. Why? What about linebackers for you? What's your paying at meter on the linebackers? Two. Why why why why are you there for two? Adam Fisher: All these names I'm looking at right now. I'm sitting here looking at the depth chart and these are guys that have been here. There's not many many guys I'm looking at out that I don't like that I haven't, you know, seen in the red and black before. And the more time you spend with Kirby and Glenn Schumann, the better you're gonna get. Like you're gonna get coached hard, you're gonna get coached the right way, and you're gonna improve 'cause they're gonna make your smarter. They're gonna lift your c your football IQ. Like you might have all the talent in the world, but they're gonna tell you where to be and when to be there. And dude Looking good. It's looking good. Ted Turner: It's a good room. This is this is a real good room. you know, you look at Raylan, obviously Justin Williams. if you haven't done so, go check out my my episode from last night where we talked about one of the things coming to camp is who's gonna you know, you know, George likes to go four deep. They like to roll four on the inside. I think this is more of a linebacker room to go who's gonna be opposite of of Raylan, obviously. And you know, we know we have talent in Chris Cole, Justin Williams. Terrell Foster has done a really great job. He brings a lot of stability. Terrell Frosson is a redshirt senior, man. So he brings a lot of stability, a lot of a lot of growth, a lot of matureness. But, you know, as Aden Walker, we really feel good about being just different, right? He's twitchy. Here's my thing. I got my panic meter a little higher on these linebackers. I'll tell you why. I'm gonna put him as seven. Seven, and and and you'll hear when you hear my reasoning, you might go, okay, this is what makes me panic about this room. It's so good. But but is it gonna be able to do what it needs to do, right? Can we get to the quarterback this year, man? Can we get to the quarterback and can we look at all that talent and go, can Glenn Schumann and this defensive staff get these guys to the quarterback and get him on the ground? It will make I mean, obviously, fish, we know it's the difference maker in how long man coverage is so hard when you got to cover for a long time. I mean, we showed it against Ole Miss. It's hard to cover for that long if you're not getting to the quarterback, right? So that's why my payent meter's a little higher. I I have all faith in these guys. But but is this talent going to get the quarterback to the ground? Right. That that's yeah, that's it for me. Adam Fisher: That makes sense. That checks out. I mean I understand that. Hundred percent. That makes sense. Ted Turner: What about D line? What's your pay-enter for the defensive Adam Fisher: D line. Ted Turner: line? Adam Fisher: We need to be a little better at stopping the run this year. And it's the same it's the usual suspects. I mean, you got Gabe, Jordan, and Elijah. You know, that's them. They're starting. That's it's their line. they've they've got to improve. I mean they were good last year, don't get me wrong, but we were stopping the run is usually something we are great at, but we weren't great last year, or elite. I'm sorry. We weren't elite. enough last year. So I'm gonna say this is probably my highest worry on the defensive side of the ball, and I'm gonna go seventh. Ted Turner: Yeah. I dig it, man. I I I can see it. I I can see it. It for me I'm the same. I'm gonna kinda be on the on the same lines of you. I'm gonna be a five because it's like a seesaw, right? And this group, this group with Gabe Harris is a difference maker, right? Now I can see where I can see where we're going with Isaiah Wilson. I mean I I I don't for the life of me like I I don't understand in my mind, like as much talent on this line. Injuries really took this line down last year. You know, look you look at Jordan Hall, you got him Adam Fisher: Yep. Yep. Ted Turner: returning this year. Can Griffith take a step another step forward in the right direction and be just a man presence on that line? And and and I think he's hyped up about that. I mean, he just saw Jalen Carter get the the top defensive tackle, you know. eel in the the highest, you know, defense for a defensive the highest deal for a defensive tackle in the NFL is is is is Jalen Carter right now. So like can they put up or shut up? Now I I I'm just gonna tell you, Gabe Harris and Gabe Harris we trust. If he can stay healthy this line is different with Gabe Harrison. It's different with Gabe Harrison there. And if they can do that, it takes that number, that pantomia for the linebackers way down. Adam Fisher: Yeah. a hundred percent. A hundred percent. Ted Turner: way down and I agree with tackling. I I do agree with you on tackling. That's spot on. can they tackle? Can we stop the run? That can't be based off of last season. This is a new year, right? you got some offensive coordinators that have come to the SEC that are no longer Billy Napier and and and Hugh Freeze and you know we'll we'll keep it at that. But Adam Fisher: It's gonna look different. Ted Turner: exactly. let's move. What about the running back room? Tell me about the number you got for them. What's the pendant on the running backs? Adam Fisher: You know, I'm not I'm not really worried about these guys. I know what they're capable of and I know what they can do and I know what kind of O line we're gonna have this year. three? Four just for just for Ted Turner: I like it. What what gives you a little bit of a twitch as far as worries? Nutrition. Adam Fisher: Attrition. Ted Turner: Okay. Adam Fisher: You know, just staying healthy. And I say that this is me every preseason and because Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Adam Fisher: Kirby gets the guys in the door, man. Like he gets the dudes. He gets the men, the guys that he wants. And all of them are capable. And he's such a good coach and has such a good like crew, you know, a bun a good staff underneath him. I'm not coaching does not scare me at all. We have one of the best coach like set like group of coaches, you know From just the staff, coordinators to Kirby in the SEC. Ted Turner: Yeah. Yeah. Adam Fisher: so but just staying healthy. And and I'm beating a dead horse, I know. You want you want me to come up with something different, I know, but I'm just being honest. Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: You know, they just they just gotta stay healthy. I mean, tell me, give me one thing, one say something negative about Nate Fraser. Can you? Off top of Ted Turner: Yeah. If it Adam Fisher: your head. Ted Turner: I you know, my panic meter for the running backs is is kind of similar to I'm a little bit lower than the linebackers, but I'm a little bit higher than you are. I'm at like a six. I'll tell you why with the running back room. we talked about depth. We also we also have to understand like how do they complement each other. what does this running back room look like without a without a McCray, you know, a Josh McCray, that short yarded situation. But also whether we like it or not, you know, we like we most people liked Cash Jones. We also feel like that he was utilized a little bit weirdly in the past year. But like Dwight Phillips is gonna take on a little bit of that role. And he was he was going first with the third down backs. So obviously he is that guy that I guess we can per se for better ways to describe it will be taking on that cash jones Jones role. But this guy has a lot more elusive game breaker type speed than cash. No offense to Cash. Good hands, but game breaker speed, right? So whether you like it or not, and the creativity Bobo's gonna use, you know. I I I have a feeling that he's going to be trying to get this guy the ball on third down in situations where he can make a lot of it, give or take, whether you like it or not. But the thing I worry about Adam Fisher: You You know Bobo loves a screen. Ted Turner: is is yeah, screen yeah, well, screen the old different the thing I worry about that gives me the six is is like after you get that, right, you look at depth, you know, do we have enough? Dante Daldell was obviously paid and brought in for good reason, right? You gotta wonder it, does Dwight really fill out that third running back room? Because George is gonna use Chauncey and and Nate very similarly, right? They don't George does not see a huge difference in their capabilities per se. because we all know Nate runs to the tackle. So I would just say when you look at is there a fall off, right? or do, you know, does Bo and does Jay Lamar, do they understand that? They have an opportunity because Georgia does go deep in their running back ring. I mean, you numerous times last year did see your fourth and fifth string running back for Georgia in certain scenarios where they just wanted a different, a different, I guess, per se, oomph in what was going on. So Adam Fisher: No. Yeah. Ted Turner: that's the only reason I got him a little higher is is there is there a big drop off after Chauncey, Nate, Dwight? There is You're one injury away from being very it's gonna be very hard to do what George likes to do, right? Because the ground and pound, man, is a is a it's a stamina type thing too. We're we're rotating three, four backs sometimes. The trust is more around two or three backs, but who knows? let's move to the let's move to the offensive line. Give me your panic meter number and let's talk about why. Adam Fisher: I'm gonna say three. But that's that's just trying not to go one. Not trying not to let my fangirl come out, you know, and just go, We got the best team in the world. We're nothing you know, blah blah blah blah blah like you can't touch us, you know. So, you know, but the O line, man, I mean anybody that knows football can look at this O line and tell that they're gonna be trouble. Like our run game is gonna be a lot better than it was last year. There's gonna be holes and there's gonna be gaps for these guys to hit and hit hard. so I'm not I'm not stressing the O line right now. As long as Bobo can keep his thumb healthy, we'll be alright. Ted Turner: Yeah, I I got them in that like same range, three, four. The only reason I have them a little bit more elevated than just coolza cucumber is because I wonder how, you know, you gotta look at the second second layer of this line, you know, do do you have good Georgia is not based off of a one or two line. It's a it's a and or or. So it's like when you look at well, what do you got at right starting right guard? It's it's this or it's this, right? So when you look at Zakai Helton, which r which for for listeners a lot of people are probably gonna wanna r you know, say it as Zay Key, but a lot of you guys will know him. He's obviously you know, he he's a three star, came out of Beauford, and he's a guy I think is gonna be your right guard starter this year. but he goes by Zakai Helton. Does that continue to gain momentum? You know, how he's gonna get into I mean, do I think spring's hard? Yeah, but fall's much harder, right? There's more demand. There's more demand in, you know, in the playbook, and there's you know, you also have Ja Jackson in there somewhere. You look and so how how how big of a year can can Ernest Green have coming back from an injury that was very, very nagging to Drew Bobo. how does he anchor this line in terms of leadership? Coming off of an injury, you know, and then how does Juan Gaston go from year one to year two? But I think that's kind of what this line will look like. I think from left to right. I think you're gonna look at left tackle, you're gonna see on the screen. Then get left guard, you're probably gonna see Glover at center, you're probably gonna Drew Bobo. right right guard, you're probably gonna see either Za Zekai Hilton or Ja Jackson. And then I think right right tackle, you're probably looking at Juan Gaston. and then everything after that is, you know, still an and or an or, but But I but I think that's it for me. It's like how does it mold together and does all this stuff that we've seen that's really good about it, does it pan out as it produced to the field? Last but not least, fish. I left the best for last because I know this one can go both ways, but I'm gonna include the tight ends in this, okay, because I think it's a I think it's a good precursor, but what's your what is your panic meter on the tight ends and wide receivers? Adam Fisher: Seven. Ted Turner: Natur naturally high. Yeah. For the same Adam Fisher: Seven. Yeah. Ted Turner: reasons as everybody's panicking, or do you got something? What do you got? Adam Fisher: Well, just unprovenness. We don't know a lot about these guys. We know what we saw out of a couple of them last year. We know what the potential is. We know the ceilings high. 'Cause with their athletes, they're talented. Like they've got skills, they got speed, they got height. Some of you know, we we we as a team, I'm sorry, have speed, we got height, we got little bitty guys that are twitchy and quick and wiry, you know, and hard to tackle. We got Zack branches, we've got you know, Colby Young's so to speak, as far as stature is what I'm saying. just gotta gotta prove it. Gotta go out on the field and play the game and they gotta make plays. They gotta get open. They gotta catch the ball. that's that's the only reason. like we know what we're getting out of London London. We know what we're getting out of when we know what we're hope we're getting out of Canyon, you know, from watching him play last year, saw him play us last year, although that wasn't his best game. I wouldn't watch that tape if I was going back to see what this man was about. but yeah, I'm gonna stick with seven. Solid seven. Ted Turner: Yeah. I I think I think seven's good. I for for lack of doing the same, I will I will go up a little bit to not have the same score. But I'll go eight and I'll tell you why. It's because I I don't think it's because of of not trusting that it could be there. I think it's once you said it's like it's unknown, right? We've seen it in G Day. But also we're not we're not unloading the entire playbook at G Day, but How does it all fit in? I think the tight ends are what get it from being absolute boiling panic mode. But it's just because all these players are untapped. Like you didn't see, you know, Taylor Talon Taylor was going to be a guy that you could have probably gauged more of last year, but he got hurt, right? And then you got these, you know, flashy freshmen. You got the insertion of Isaiah Cannon, and then you got, you know, London Humphreys did get targeted last year, was one of, in my opinion, was one of Gunnar's favorite targets as far as like Go to moments, man. I mean, he was a go-to wide receiver for Georgia last year. I think Zach was firmly entrenched in the game plan, but I think when it looked to giving you a catch, I mean, no everybody remembers the Tennessee game. The catch by London Humphreys made that the Gunner that Gunner made that throw. I think he'll be a dependent on guy this year. And I think we're we're also underutilizing the fact that lost and lucky Elias Williams. I think Elias Williams is gonna be a nightmare on third down and it on the goal line. I think he's matured. Adam Fisher: Thanks so too. Ted Turner: I think he's grown and he has a lot of more just a lot more God given speed, you know, than the average two hundred and forty pound tight end, you know, and Jaden Ridd's built a little bit different. I mean, this tight end room is not only good and it's not only top tier, but it's built different, man. You got a lot of switchiness, a lot of fast, a lot of a lot of a lot of fast guys, a lot of a lot of good hands. They also block well. So it it's it's gonna be it's gonna be incredi. It's it's got the makeup of a Of a unit that could be incredible. I mean, and believe me, I'm the number one fan for you to go give us no question in this wide receiver room. Game one and two is a force to be reckoned with. I mean, more power to you. I mean, would I like to see an efficient run game? Yeah, of course. But give me some reason to to believe that there's no questions asked about this wide receiver. But Adam Fisher: Exactly. Ted Turner: well, fish, it comes to a close, man, and it's been fun, man. We have We got nothing but thirty-one days till we get into the twenties very soon. But by the time the weekend's over, we'll be in the twenties and we'll be heading towards scrimmage one for Georgia. I think for myself and you, final thoughts. I know for myself are just help, man. You know, I know we gotta practice, I know we gotta get better, I know we gotta find some strength and toughness and we gotta figure out how these guys are gonna play under adversity, but it'll be very interesting to see. what comes out of camp and where we're at as far as what we're seeing in scrimmages. But how about yourself, Fish? Final thoughts? I know you're excited, but any other final thoughts? Okay. Yeah of course. Adam Fisher: Okay, I got two things, so just bear with me. Okay, we didn't rate the quarterback or we didn't do the quarterback. But my worry level Ted Turner: I didn't, but you can. Adam Fisher: my worry level for Gunner is nine. Ted Turner: Okay. Whoa. Adam Fisher: Nine. Cause old Miss knew like he's got the that that release has to speed up. And he can't be afraid to take shots. Okay. Like that's we we need to be explosive. 'Cause they're just gonna line up seven, eight people or you know not not seven, eight, but like six, seven men in the box and they're gonna plug the run. If they're not worried about our passing game, we gotta stretch the field and that's on him. You know, we got some dudes he can throw it to, even if they're not the best, but they're somebody. But he's got he's gotta pull the trigger. number two, okay, I wanted to say this when we were talking about Ricked when you mentioned him because I'm one of Mark Rick's biggest fans. And one of the reasons I don't do Facebook much anymore is because when we were going through that transition between from Kirby to Rick, three, four years after the man was fired or replaced with by Kirby. People still feel the need to talk mess about him. But nobody seems to understand Ted Turner: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Adam Fisher: or remember that there were three years, two years specifically, where we were one play away from playing for the national Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: championship. Now college football looked a lot different back then because it was the top two, there was no playoff, it was the BCS. So and I was at the Georgia Florida game where Terrence Edward dropped that ball where he was wide open. There was nobody within fifteen yards of him, okay. And David Green laid it up for him and he dropped it. And we lost. And so we there were two undefeated teams in front of us that year. But that was the only loss we had that year. Okay, that was two thousand two. Then there was the Stafford Merino team, which you mentioned that went to play Hawaii. Nobody can tell you that we weren't the best team in the nation at the Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: end of the year that year. Nobody wanted to play us. Nobody wanted to play us. Ted Turner: Yeah, I wanted I I wanted to be in a system where we could prove ourselves on an even playing field and not just be stuck in the game that year. I mean you always every Adam Fisher: Because Ted Turner: team wants a one, I agree with that. Adam Fisher: if there was a playoff that year, that's championship number maybe one or two for Rick. And then 2012, Bama, SEC championship. Winner of that game goes to play Notre Dame. Aaron Murray choked. Last play of the game. Last play of the game. Like that whole drive, the last thirty seconds of that game, dude. One play. One play. Came down to the last play. We got down to like the ten or eleven. Okay, came down to one play, one play away from going to play for the na another national championship. Rick could have had three. If Ted Turner: Yeah. Adam Fisher: we had to if that was if we were in the pla if we did a playoff back then, Rick might have had three national championships and Kirby might not even be our coach right now. So the man got us clo he got us you know, the it was just The way college football was ran back then, you know, the way it was, you know, just top two, BCS, all this. Everything looked different. It was a different game. But just remember that when you're that when you're Ted Turner: It it did. Adam Fisher: when you're talking about Rick. Like he was he he was a Ted Turner: Yeah. It did. I will say this though. I I'll give a rebuttal because we're not I we're on the same page. We I think we both, I mean, I said it numerous times, it's very hard to critique him hard because the man he is and the coach he w he was and even seeing what he's going through now, man, like it it's not easy saying those things, but you gotta be truthful because you know sometimes if you're up front, dog nation sometimes tries to tries to throw the buffet out there and I I wanna Adam Fisher: I know. Ted Turner: I wanna keep an easy balance and go like, you know, we're doing it in a way that we're going we're calling it what it is, but like if you're out there just bashing him because of the same reasons we bash like a Mike Bobo or a I mean, I already heard it the other day. I mean, I said something about Bobo as like a I did a wild take about, you know, could he win the Broyles Award this year? And I mean I yeah, I think you can. I I Adam Fisher: He might. Ted Turner: it it it there's a whole nother podcast an hour long to talk about like my thoughts on the behind the scenes co-conspiracy theory some sometimes about this play calling with Mike Boba because I do have a r I I have to think that the reason why Kirby backs him so much is because Kirby's looking and going sometimes we call the plays because I know the chess match we're playing. That's a whole nother podcast. But back to Rick. I just think that man, like I I feel like the development of some of the players were not where they should have been and But also like how many of those players would have transferred out in an NIL era with Mark Rick? What what the reasoning was behind it, I I can't really pinpoint it, man. Because behind the scenes, I think what really was w it what it was was is I think Mark Rick was a nice guy. And I think sometimes if you were to put a little bit of that gutsiness that Kirby brought to the team with his heart and his his want to not only be a great football team, but raise boys to men. no pun intended for the boys to men. I know that name's already taken in the in the world of of groups. Adam Fisher: Mm-hmm. Ted Turner: But I think it's different, right? I mean, that's the one thing. Mark Rick's flex was running the whole team out for Georgia, Florida. And it was like it was kind of cool, but you look back and you'd be like, dude, we were we were dancing in the end zone. Like, what kind of, you know, flex was that? I mean, I also look at it and go, Urban Urban Meyer called timeouts. on us and it's like, what's the bigger flex, right? Ballsy to to to call timeouts and let the flip fans just rip into you, right? But I will say he had his corny he has some corny things and ways to do things, but it worked. Right? It worked. In a lot of ways, you're right. We were very close in a lot of areas and it worked. So and Mark Rick will still go down in the history of Georgia football, probably for more Bad than good, but in a lot of people's mind, way more good than bad, obviously. We're probably the only ones that'll say that. Well, fish, lots to to keep our eyes on, obviously. we're gonna get a little bit more consistent. I know we'll be going a lot here in the near future. and then football seasons are right around the corner. So it's here, Adam Fisher: Yes, sir. Ted Turner: man. So a lot more of this. We'll see if we can get the technical difficulties of rich man taking. taken care of and hopefully we can get him back in the swing of things as well this season. So we're looking forward to it. But but yeah, man, great time. if you haven't done so, go and like and follow us. Like and follow. Follow, follow. Share.
