The Real Story of Black Bears in Texas
Texas used to be bear country, until hunting wiped out the breeding population by the 1950s. Then black bears walked back on their own from Mexico into Big Bend. This episode covers the history, the comeback, what we actually know about where bears are today, and the law: they're state-threatened, there's no season, and you need to know your target.
