SPEAKER_02: Well, hello everyone, and welcome back to the Diva's That Care.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_02: My name is Candace Gish.
• 0:37
SPEAKER_02: Well, guys, I know that you have been with us for so long here, and you know we've been doing this amazing series.
• 0:43
SPEAKER_02: We've been interviewing these dynamic women that are part of an anthology, Animal Prints on My Soul.
• 0:49
SPEAKER_02: And I have the pleasure to interview an author.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_02: Her name is Joe Dibley.
• 0:53
SPEAKER_02: And I am beyond excited that Joe had submitted her story to our anthology.
• 0:58
SPEAKER_02: She is an amazing woman, has been on the Divas That Care for quite a while now.
• 1:03
SPEAKER_02: We've I've had the pleasure of interviewing her, and it's just so much fun to talk with her.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_02: She is so inspiring and empowering.
• 1:10
SPEAKER_02: So today I would love to welcome back Joe Dibley.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_02: Joe, I'm so excited to chat with you today.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited to be here all the way from Los Arenales, Mexico.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_01: So thank you so much for inviting me back to chat about things that really matter.
• 1:28
SPEAKER_02: Well my goodness, you are always doing so many great things to help so many individuals, you know, people and animals.
• 1:35
SPEAKER_02: So that's why we really wanted you to be a part of this anthology with us.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_02: Before I kind of dive into some questions that I have for you, Joe, would you mind introducing yourself to our new listeners?
• 1:45
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, and thank you.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_01: And sometimes that could be as simple as a kind gesture, but my goal is to stand for those who have no voice and also to stand with those who care for others.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_02: And you're definitely doing that on a you know, I would say quite a big scale, and you have for quite a long time.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_02: Why did you decide to submit your story to this ontology?
• 2:30
SPEAKER_02: You know, we sometimes don't realize.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_01: I think at times we just don't realize the impact animals have on our lives.
• 2:40
SPEAKER_01: And if not for Cassie, I would not have completed a very important goal in my life.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_01: If not for Cassie, who was my dog, who was my rescue, just basically saying, come on, stop lolly gagging, let's get it done, which seemed so impossible till I looked back and looked at her impact in my life.
• 3:03
SPEAKER_01: And I want others to know that, you know, whether it be rescue or what had these animals play a crucial role in the human experience.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_01: And so when you approached me about sharing my story about the marathon that has an impact in my life, it wasn't you know, I hell yeah, sorry if that offense anyone, but it really was.
• 3:26
SPEAKER_01: No questions that yes, I'll do it.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_01: I got it at one o'clock in the morning because I was so excited, and then of course you go through the process, but I was honored to contribute and also to put her memory in writing.
• 3:40
  SPEAKER_02: I love that.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_02: And we are very honored to have that story in our anthology.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_02: I know that you're kind of mentioning it's about a your marathon and your can you kind of give us a little bit of tidbits that are about your story?
• 3:51
SPEAKER_02: Um, we don't want to dive too much into it because we definitely want our listeners to go and check that book out and read your story, but would you give us a little bit of information about it?
• 4:00
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
• 4:01
SPEAKER_01: I think one of the most important pieces of of that piece for me was the fact that she had been abandoned twice.
• 4:11
SPEAKER_01: And if not for the grace of whatever we believe in, I would not have she would not have been brought to my life exactly at the time I needed her.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_01: And without those goals would have been accomplished.
• 4:24
SPEAKER_01: I mean there's so much to her story, and obviously just a little little side note is she just kept getting overlooked because of how she looked.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_01: And yet to me she was beautiful.
• 4:36
  SPEAKER_02: I love that.
• 4:37
  SPEAKER_02: It's so empowering.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_02: Since then, the story, you've done so much.
• 4:41
SPEAKER_02: You know, you're calling in from Mexico right now, and you're doing some amazing things down in Mexico.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_02: So I definitely want to touch on that because I think it's really powerful for our listeners to see the kind of things that you are doing.
• 4:54
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_01: You know, I think Cassie really kind of ignited in me something that had lined dormant.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_01: I always had this passion to rescue animals.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_01: And so here in Mexico, we foster, we help find, as we call them, forever homes for the dogs.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_01: I do my best to help place them, not just thoughts, but place them, not that that's required.
• 5:19
  SPEAKER_01: It's it's important to me.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_01: We help with the sterilization clinic so that we don't have more abandoned animals.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_01: And down here, I've an airlanders is always need, right?
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: Whether it's with our with the animals that we serve or with the people we serve, or sometimes both, right, at the same time, actually.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_01: Um and it's a real honor to be able to give back in such a powerful way.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_01: That's why we started Team Humanity Baha'i.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I hear that uh without that particular organization, I wouldn't have been able to do even a bigger scale piece.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_01: And so we've raised and we continue to raise money every single month for the organizations we support for Team Humanity and rescue and just animals in general are a critical component to what we do down here because without that we would have a problem, a serious and very dangerous problem, because we're doing the good work with everybody, the team, not Joe, the team.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_01: Because we're doing that, we are seeing tremendous change.
• 6:22
SPEAKER_01: And one of my little fosters was over yesterday playing my I call her me and my crux Bibley, our other dog.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_01: And I now call that foster for a dozen, as it doesn't the dog.
• 6:34
  SPEAKER_01: I I make up my words so sorry, it's it's weird, but it's who I am.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's pretty awesome to be able to see the intact personal.
• 6:44
  SPEAKER_02: I love that.
• 6:45
SPEAKER_02: And Joe, one of the great things that I love about what you're doing down there is you even have your friends and people that you know that have come from Canada and the United States that have come down and volunteer their time to help you when they can with this amazing program that you have.
• 6:59
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_01: You know, we started doing uh as you and you and I met a long time ago, and so it's been really a a great journey to watch what you're doing and to be involved and also to have vice versa, right?
• 7:13
SPEAKER_01: And but when I started, I did that as when you and I first met.
• 7:17
SPEAKER_01: I we met at a lot of events, which is to help women grow their business and and get more connected and feel like in a people level, not just it's not just always about dollars and cents, it's about feeling that you belong and making a competition.
• 7:31
SPEAKER_01: In any event, when I did that here, and then I realized when I came down here that people were looking, you know, and I truly, to my core, believe that people want to make a difference, but sometimes they don't know where to start.
• 7:46
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes they don't know how to do that, and they want to have that experience.
• 7:50
SPEAKER_01: I know I wanted to have that.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_01: I wanted to see that my work mattered, that I was actually working with the end, like the outcome, for example, knowing that I was working in with the dog, working with the cat, working with, you know, at the ornament, whatever it was.
• 8:08
SPEAKER_01: And I knew other people kept asking me, how do you do this?
• 8:11
SPEAKER_01: How do you do this?
• 8:12
SPEAKER_01: And so we started, and thank you for sharing that, we started doing um what we call well and tourism events.
• 8:19
SPEAKER_01: So people come down here for a week and we work hard.
• 8:23
  SPEAKER_01: Like there's no mistake.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_01: We go, you know, we go for the animals, we work with the clinics, we work with um some of the poor areas, we work with the orphanage, but we are working and volunteering and giving back in a meaningful way, not just uh it's not just bringing them the fish, it's teaching them how to fish.
• 8:42
SPEAKER_01: And so when women primarily is we've come to our events, uh, we're usually told that obviously with COVID that's been different, but they cannot say enough about it.
• 8:53
SPEAKER_01: We work hard, we try to play the higher, uh, but we work really hard and we have to felt throughout every place we go.
• 9:02
SPEAKER_01: And I am honored to be able to curate these events for these women so that they too can feel that hands-on experience.
• 9:10
  SPEAKER_01: There's nothing like it.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_01: It's it's like saying to someone, go look at a garden and feel that experience.
• 9:15
SPEAKER_01: Now you all put your hands in the dirt to truly feel, to cultivate seed, to watch it mature, to harvest it, or to pick that flower and put it on your table, to be able to say you were right there working alongside the people that are doing the good work is like I'm extremely passionate and extremely emotional about it about that.
• 9:36
SPEAKER_01: I do love it, and I'm honored that they understand and want to be part of it too.
• 9:41
  SPEAKER_02: Well, I I absolutely love what you're doing.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_02: You have inspired me for so many years that I'm just an awe in everything that you have done and you've accomplished.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_02: What an amazing woman that you are, and I'm so happy that I can call you my friend.
• 9:54
SPEAKER_02: And I want to thank you, you know, for putting the time into our anthology because your story is so impactful.
• 10:01
SPEAKER_02: It is just a beautiful story.
• 10:03
SPEAKER_02: Um, and you're doing so many things also outside of that.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_02: And I want a lot of people to know more about your organization, and we're gonna be posting that obviously after our show here so that they can perhaps get involved because it is amazing what you are doing and how you are taking women, as you said, mostly women, into and you're into your home and into your life down in Mexico, and you're showing them what you're doing.
• 10:27
SPEAKER_02: And we will we definitely haven't even dived into the orphanage part that you're working with, and I would love to talk with you about that at a later date.
• 10:36
  SPEAKER_02: I would love that.
• 10:37
SPEAKER_01: I I'm so honored, Candace, because truly it's when we join hands and you know, and and really connect and do something at this level that it's so it's just so impactful.
• 10:52
SPEAKER_01: Often we forget, we don't understand the power we have just by showing up and showing, you know, showing our talents.
• 11:00
SPEAKER_01: But they're viewed, it's we're combining this, you know, cre creating empathies and creating a community that actually creating deeply cares about the impact we're having on living beings or you know, environmental sensors, whatever it may be.
• 11:16
SPEAKER_01: The truth of the matter is is one of us isn't gonna do it, but all of us are doing our head and and thinking because I really do believe this.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_01: I believe that we each have such a powerful story to share, and that our talents will change someone's life.
• 11:35
  SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it's small.
• 11:36
SPEAKER_01: It's you know, it's just the things that we do quietly for no one else is singing, which is fine because it's not always it's not about us, it's about it's in others.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_01: But it's amazing what that does to other people, and I've seen it too so many times.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_01: I've seen Mexico has a lot of needs, we're not just resorts to beaches, although we have beautiful beaches and it's a beautiful sunny day.
• 12:00
SPEAKER_01: The truth is we need help like any other developing country needs help.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_01: And I'm honored to be here.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_01: That's why we sold everything in Canada.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, we sold most of us and there are 12,000 pounds of donations for the animal privilege, you name it.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_01: And it was our privilege.
• 12:19
SPEAKER_01: It was that responsibility of privilege to third, and it continues to be a privilege to third, these people have the golden names, right?
• 12:27
  SPEAKER_01: Whatever it might be.
• 12:30
  SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_02: That's a lot.
• 12:32
SPEAKER_02: You know, a lot of people don't realize the whole in-depth story that you have, and I didn't want to have you back on the Diva Vet Care and really go through that because that in itself has been such a journey for you, and wow, I can't wait to hear more about it.
• 12:46
SPEAKER_02: So, Joe, thank you so much for you know taking the time to chat with me.
• 12:50
SPEAKER_02: I know that you are calling in from Mexico.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_02: Um, I appreciate everything that you do.
• 12:56
SPEAKER_02: You have always been an honorary diva from the get-go.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_02: It has been my pleasure to know you over so many years, and I thank you for everything that you're doing in the world today.
• 13:05
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_01: And and for those who're saying, please get the book.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_01: There are so many amazing there to lift you and inspire you to the next whatever your next thing is.
• 13:16
SPEAKER_01: And kind of time to say all the good books with you, but you are truly an amazing goal.
• 13:22
SPEAKER_02: Oh my friend, thank you so much.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_02: Yes, and everybody, the Animal Prints of My Soul is going to be available right away here.
• 13:29
  SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited.
• 13:30
SPEAKER_02: We will be posting a lot of that stuff on our social media.
• 13:33
SPEAKER_02: So make sure that you know keep your eyes open for that because it's going to be coming right away here.
• 13:38
SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much, Joe.
• 13:39
SPEAKER_02: Thank you to all of our listeners.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_02: I appreciate each and every one of you.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_02: And it's because of all of our listeners we're able to do these amazing anthologies.
• 13:47
SPEAKER_02: And all the proceeds of our anthologies will be going to different animal charities.
• 13:51
SPEAKER_02: So, you know, make sure that you do check them out and support as much as you can.
• 13:55
  SPEAKER_02: Again, thank you, Joe.
• 13:56
SPEAKER_02: Thank you, our listeners, and I hope that you do something kind today.
• 14:00
  SPEAKER_02: Until next time, everyone.
