- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili mornings on demand on 97.1 Wash FM.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Today's going to be one of those days just like
- 0:07Speaker 2: yesterday where you're going to need to carry a little
- 0:09Speaker 2: something extra called an umbrella just because. Toby and Chili
- 0:14Speaker 2: in the morning it is 97.1 Wash FM. Welcome to
- 0:18Speaker 2: this Tuesday morning. Why are you feeling good today?
- 0:20Speaker 3: 866-927-4361.
- 0:20Speaker 2: There's always got to be a reason something good is
- 0:23Speaker 2: going on. First thing in the morning before you get
- 0:29Speaker 2: a brand new day started. So what might that be? Chili,
- 0:33Speaker 2: what you got?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Well, we're going to be celebrating my sister's birthday, which
- 0:38Speaker 3: is to wait. What is it? It's on the 24th.
- 0:41Speaker 3: So that's on Thursday. And we made plans to do
- 0:43Speaker 3: something with her this coming weekend.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Where will you go? Will you dine or will you
- 0:47Speaker 2: do an event?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Her event is coming up next month.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Oh, I better shut up now. I've got that kind
- 0:53Speaker 2: of like smug smile.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I'll talk about that separately. So what we do with
- 0:58Speaker 3: our cousins, our first cousins, a group of ladies, everybody
- 1:01Speaker 3: who has a birthday gets to celebrate it in a
- 1:04Speaker 3: very special way. So she's already announced what she wants
- 1:07Speaker 3: to do. And I'll talk about it a little bit
- 1:08Speaker 3: later as we get closer.
- 1:10Speaker 2: You bite your tongue. Don't ruin any surprises. It would
- 1:13Speaker 2: be just like you first thing in the morning, Toby.
- 1:16Speaker 4: But yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm feeling good because just, you know, first of all,
- 1:20Speaker 2: today's physical therapy day. And when you know you're getting better,
- 1:24Speaker 2: even though it takes time, you find solace in the
- 1:28Speaker 2: little things that you can do that you couldn't do
- 1:31Speaker 2: yesterday or a week ago or a month ago. And
- 1:34Speaker 2: if I start to, the number shifted, right? The number
- 1:37Speaker 2: of things that I couldn't do as opposed to what
- 1:39Speaker 2: I'm able to do. I didn't say pain free, but
- 1:42Speaker 2: what I'm able to do. that number is larger than
- 1:46Speaker 2: it used to be. And every time we train, it's
- 1:50Speaker 2: a good thing. Not to mention, I'm really happy that
- 1:52Speaker 2: my physical therapists, some of the ones on my team
- 1:55Speaker 2: were at the, at the Triumph Trek that I was
- 1:59Speaker 2: at over the weekend. So that was, that was kind of,
- 2:02Speaker 2: reinforcement you know what i mean sure then little little
- 2:05Speaker 2: reinforcements are a good thing why are you feeling good
- 2:07Speaker 2: you know where to find us give us a call
- 2:09Speaker 2: in the meantime the news top stories at the top
- 2:12Speaker 2: of the hour chili what's going on this morning.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Two montgomery county malls are really cracking down on unsupervised
- 2:19Speaker 3: teenagers i've got the latest on that coming up in
- 2:22Speaker 3: just a few minutes.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Well, the president is no longer being covered by the
- 2:30Speaker 3: White House television press pool after three outlets were banned. CNN,
- 2:35Speaker 3: MSN Now and political reporters were barred after they were
- 2:39Speaker 3: accused of negative coverage. So those outlets are now taking
- 2:42Speaker 3: legal action. Northeast airports are still catching up after yesterday's
- 2:47Speaker 3: hours-long ground stop between Philly and New York. A cut
- 2:51Speaker 3: fiber line near Newark triggered a communications outage that grounded
- 2:56Speaker 3: flights at five major airports. Prince George's County leaders are
- 3:01Speaker 3: addressing rumors that surrounded a man who was found dead
- 3:04Speaker 3: Sunday in Upper Marlborough. Investigators determined that he died by
- 3:08Speaker 3: suicide and not a lynching, as some rumors had claimed.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Two Montgomery County malls are cracking down on unsupervised teens.
- 3:17Speaker 3: So starting next Monday, Westfield Wheaton and Westfield Montgomery will
- 3:22Speaker 3: require anyone under 18 to have an adult 21 or
- 3:26Speaker 3: older with them after 3 p.m. every day. The change
- 3:31Speaker 3: follows reports of youth violence and disorderly conduct. The planned
- 3:35Speaker 3: closure of Waterside Drive in northwest D.C. has been delayed
- 3:39Speaker 3: till further notice. Crews found a large utility line yesterday
- 3:43Speaker 3: dating to the early 1900s during their excavation. Well, Metro
- 3:48Speaker 3: is hoping to have the yellow line back to normal
- 3:51Speaker 3: before this morning's commute. A track vehicle derailment yesterday limited
- 3:55Speaker 3: service between Huntington. and Arlington Cemetery. And finally, a new
- 4:00Speaker 3: CDC report says that most Americans deal with fatigue. Seven
- 4:04Speaker 3: in 10 adults report it within any three-month span, and
- 4:08Speaker 3: nearly 17% say they're exhausted almost every day. A neurologist
- 4:13Speaker 3: blames poor sleep and constant digital connectivity for making it
- 4:18Speaker 3: tougher to truly unplug. Forecast today, lots of rain throughout
- 4:21Speaker 3: the day. Highs only around 62. Right now, 63 in Alexandria.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And that is the news with Toby and Tilly in
- 4:28Speaker 2: the morning. You get your top stories at the top
- 4:30Speaker 2: of the hour. And in just a few minutes, we're
- 4:33Speaker 2: going to talk about how you're doing today with something
- 4:35Speaker 2: that we hope might inspire. It is your morning mindset
- 4:39Speaker 2: for this Tuesday morning. If you need that mental shot
- 4:42Speaker 2: of espresso, we got you. If you're dealing with adversity
- 4:47Speaker 2: this morning, maybe a little bit of change that has
- 4:50Speaker 2: you feeling some sort of way, your morning mindset could help.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning, it's 97.1 Wash FM.
- 4:57Speaker 3: This is where we pause and share a quote to
- 4:59Speaker 3: get you into a good headspace just in case you
- 5:02Speaker 3: need the motivation.
- 5:04Speaker 2: The former CEO of Starbucks is named Howard Schultz, and
- 5:06Speaker 2: he said, in times of adversity and change, we really
- 5:10Speaker 2: discover who we are and what we're made of. Howard Schultz,
- 5:14Speaker 2: the former Starbucks CEO. Oh, look, I see you in
- 5:17Speaker 2: the Starbucks drive-thru line right now. How ironic. Says in
- 5:20Speaker 2: times of adversity and change, we really discover who we
- 5:24Speaker 2: are and what we're made of. Now, what's he saying
- 5:27Speaker 2: to us? Nobody asks for the hard season in life.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Nobody.
- 5:33Speaker 2: But the version of you that comes out the other
- 5:36Speaker 2: side might just know some things about strength. that the
- 5:41Speaker 2: earlier version of you never could. So embrace the change,
- 5:46Speaker 2: the adversity. It makes you a different person when you
- 5:50Speaker 2: come through the other side. And you learn things that
- 5:53Speaker 2: the earlier version of you would never have learned. Keep
- 5:58Speaker 2: it in mind, no matter what you're going through today.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Hopefully it helps. If you need it again, you'll find it.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Check us out socially. Just search for us at washfm.com.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You can also hit up the Toby and Chili page.
- 6:09Speaker 2: At WashFM.com. And that is your Morning Mindset for this Tuesday.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Now hang out for just a bit because.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Apparently there are some colors or five main colors that
- 6:19Speaker 3: most resilient people wear. It may be time to make
- 6:23Speaker 3: a change in your wardrobe.
- 6:24Speaker 2: 97.1 Wash FM with Washington's variety of the 80s, 90s,
- 6:29Speaker 2: and today. Toby, it's chilly in the morning, so your closet.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I'm thinking it might know how emotionally stable you are
- 6:36Speaker 2: before you even do. There's five colors that emotionally resilient
- 6:40Speaker 2: people tend to wear.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 6:43Speaker 2: What are you wearing right now? Because this could get awkward.
- 6:46Speaker 2: What color makes you feel unstoppable?
- 6:49Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Well, I'm wearing pink and that's not on the list
- 6:51Speaker 3: of the five colors that resilient people wear.
- 6:53Speaker 1: What?
- 6:54Speaker 3: I know. Earthy greens are on here. They terracotta and rust,
- 6:58Speaker 3: deep Navy, indigo and muted burgundy. Apparently all those are
- 7:03Speaker 3: colors that emotionally resilient people tend to gravitate towards. And I,
- 7:08Speaker 3: And I kind of want to define what emotional resilience is.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You could still feel overwhelmed, angry, sad, all those things,
- 7:14Speaker 3: but you don't get stuck in that set mindset for
- 7:17Speaker 3: a really long time.
- 7:18Speaker 6: Right.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You're able to bounce back fast.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Well, this is an interesting list because the majority of
- 7:23Speaker 2: what I'm wearing on my top is black, but it's
- 7:25Speaker 2: got like baby blue accents and gray in it.
- 7:28Speaker 3: But overall, if you were to just glance at your closet.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 7:32Speaker 3: What color stands out?
- 7:33Speaker 2: All kinds of dark colors.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Black.
- 7:35Speaker 2: It's slimming. What about you?
- 7:38Speaker 3: I've got some deep navy and I've got some burgundy
- 7:41Speaker 3: because I think that color red looks good on me
- 7:43Speaker 3: with my skin tone. But I'm not thinking about no
- 7:46Speaker 3: resilience when I choose to wear those clothes.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I like greens. I love like a good green color, right?
- 7:53Speaker 2: Like a deep green. And I like any kind of
- 7:55Speaker 2: variation of red. Deep Navy. No, not the biggest fan.
- 8:00Speaker 2: And then burgundy. I've got a couple of things that
- 8:02Speaker 2: are burgundy. I like burgundy because it's a different feel
- 8:04Speaker 2: of red.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Well, you certainly wear burgundy when the commanders are. Well, yes.
- 8:08Speaker 3: You know, and I don't know what kind of resilience
- 8:11Speaker 3: they have. But anyway.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Oh, stop. Come on now. Burgundy gives off strength.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Strength.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Yes. Yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 2: If only the commanders could wear more burgundy more often. Well,
- 8:22Speaker 2: if you want to take a look at this list
- 8:23Speaker 2: and see how it applies to your life, are you
- 8:26Speaker 2: emotionally resilient? Unstoppable like a superhero in what color? What color?
- 8:31Speaker 2: It's not on the list. We're not saying you're not
- 8:33Speaker 2: emotionally resilient, but check it out when you get a
- 8:35Speaker 2: chance to tell me a chili page. Wash FM dot com.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Hang out. Top stories at the top of the hour.
- 8:40Speaker 2: We'll get to it right around 610 chili. What are
- 8:42Speaker 2: you working on this morning?
- 8:43Speaker 3: Six-figure jobs without a college degree do exist, but they're rare.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And coming up in just a few minutes, I'm going
- 8:49Speaker 3: to tell you about the top earners.
- 8:53Speaker 2: 97.1 Wash FM, Toby and Chili in the morning, October,
- 8:57Speaker 2: National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
- 9:00Speaker 3: And we want you to join us for the Susan G.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Komen More Than Pink Walk. It takes place October 10th
- 9:06Speaker 3: at National Harbor.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And it's yours thanks to Mattress Warehouse. Find out how
- 9:11Speaker 2: you can help to raise awareness and funds to support
- 9:14Speaker 2: the fight against breast cancer. Washfm.com slash pinkwalk.
- 9:18Speaker 1: 97.1 WASH-FM, Washington. An iHeartRadio station. Coming up on Top Stories,
- 9:26Speaker 1: top of the hour.
- 9:26Speaker 3: An equipment outage led to travel chaos in the Northeast yesterday.
- 9:32Speaker 3: We've got the latest on that story and others on
- 9:35Speaker 3: the way. With Toby and Chili in the morning on
- 9:38Speaker 3: 97.1 WASH-FM.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 9:46Speaker 3: The president is not being covered by the television press
- 9:50Speaker 3: pool after he banned CNN, MSN Now, and Politico from
- 9:54Speaker 3: the White House. He's accused the organizations of negative coverage,
- 9:58Speaker 3: so now those outlets are taking legal action with a
- 10:00Speaker 3: hearing set for tomorrow. An equipment outage led to travel
- 10:05Speaker 3: chaos in the Northeast yesterday. The FAA issued ground stops
- 10:09Speaker 3: for several airports in the region. It caused hundreds of
- 10:13Speaker 3: delays and cancellations after fiber optic cables in New Jersey
- 10:16Speaker 3: were cut by a construction crew at an off-airport site. Meanwhile,
- 10:21Speaker 3: a new AI tool could help prevent flight delays before
- 10:26Speaker 3: they even happen. Officials say the technology can predict problems
- 10:29Speaker 3: in the air traffic system. giving airlines and airports more
- 10:33Speaker 3: time to respond. Starting next Monday, teenagers under 18 will
- 10:39Speaker 3: need an adult with them when they go to Westfield
- 10:42Speaker 3: Wheaton and Westfield Montgomery Malls after 3 p.m. The adult
- 10:47Speaker 3: is allowed to supervise up to four minors. And by
- 10:50Speaker 3: the way, this new policy applies every day, including the
- 10:55Speaker 3: mall's outdoor areas. A Hyattsville man is accused of stealing
- 10:59Speaker 3: more than a million dollars from seniors. Prosecutors say 34-year-old
- 11:03Speaker 3: Roy Davis made more than 1,500 fraudulent ATM withdrawals using
- 11:08Speaker 3: the cards that were ordered in victims' names. And finally,
- 11:12Speaker 3: six-figure jobs without a college degree, yes, they do exist,
- 11:16Speaker 3: but they are rare. And a new analysis finds fewer
- 11:19Speaker 3: than one in 10 non-degree occupations pay $ 100, 000 or more.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Top earners include air traffic controllers, pilots, and nuclear reactor operators.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Forecast for today, it's going to be rainy all day.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Highs around 62. Right now, it's 62 in Newmarket.
- 11:40Speaker 2: And that is the news. We call it Top Stories
- 11:42Speaker 2: at the top of the hour here at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning. Imagine, if you will.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Trying to plan a family birthday dinner when five generations
- 11:53Speaker 2: of your familia all have the same birthday. This happened
- 11:57Speaker 2: for an Iowa family and they actually pulled it off
- 12:01Speaker 2: and some people noticed. So, here's the question. Who stole
- 12:06Speaker 2: your birthday? And do you love sharing it or do
- 12:10Speaker 2: you hate it?
- 12:11Speaker 6: 866-927-4361.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Let's talk. Okay, who was it in your family that
- 12:18Speaker 2: stole your birthday? Do you actually like sharing it with them?
- 12:22Speaker 2: There's a family in Iowa. They've taken this to a
- 12:27Speaker 2: completely new level. Five generations, all with the exact same birthday.
- 12:33Speaker 2: It's 97.1 Wash FM. We're Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 12:36Speaker 2: That's an expensive day.
- 12:38Speaker 3: September 14th they all share the same day from a
- 12:41Speaker 3: great great grandfather all the way to a baby boy
- 12:44Speaker 3: the family members are born 118 years apart but they
- 12:49Speaker 3: all blow out that candle on that one day in
- 12:51Speaker 3: september and guinness world records has recognized them for it
- 12:55Speaker 3: how do If you do some math, the conception is
- 13:01Speaker 3: around the holidays. So maybe in that family, there's always
- 13:04Speaker 3: a little celebratory happening.
- 13:06Speaker 2: There's more than just a smooch under that mistletoe.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But even though when you're given a day of birth,
- 13:13Speaker 3: like when you are told as an expecting mother, oh,
- 13:15Speaker 3: babies do. It's a generalization. You can't be exact. Baby
- 13:19Speaker 3: comes when baby comes. So this is quite the feat
- 13:22Speaker 3: for them to all share a birthday. I just don't
- 13:24Speaker 3: know how I would feel about sharing a birthday with
- 13:26Speaker 3: that many relatives.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you a little something about that, Chili.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I share a birthday with my dearly departed aunt. And
- 13:34Speaker 2: upon reason and belief, and maybe I'm airing some dirty laundry,
- 13:37Speaker 2: I don't think my aunt Sandra was ever happy that
- 13:41Speaker 2: I was born on December 6th, her birthday. Because I,
- 13:45Speaker 2: upon reason and belief, feel that I came along and
- 13:49Speaker 2: robbed her thunder. And I didn't have a choice.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Wait, somebody said that she really was mad at you.
- 13:55Speaker 2: For being bored?
- 13:55Speaker 4: She was.
- 13:56Speaker 2: She was a little perturbed by it.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Is she your mom's sister or your dad's sister?
- 13:59Speaker 2: No, my dad's sister.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Were they close siblings, your dad and this woman?
- 14:03Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Because that doesn't seem like a very supportive sibling to
- 14:07Speaker 3: be all.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I can't really explain it. I don't know exactly what
- 14:12Speaker 2: it is that rubbed her so wrong. And I'm sure
- 14:15Speaker 2: that it wasn't me personally. Common sense says that the
- 14:18Speaker 2: baby doesn't have much of a choice on when the
- 14:20Speaker 2: baby is going to be born.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And who says you can't have more than one birthday
- 14:24Speaker 3: on the same day or celebrate around the same day? time. Well,
- 14:27Speaker 3: then I'm curious if anybody else out there shares a
- 14:29Speaker 3: birthday with any friends or relatives and how you feel
- 14:31Speaker 3: about it. Are you as upset as Aunt Sandra was
- 14:34Speaker 3: that somebody was born on your day?
- 14:36Speaker 2: That's right.
- 14:39Speaker 4: 866-927-4361.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Call now.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Vent.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Let it all out. We're listening and we'll be here
- 14:43Speaker 2: to support. In Iowa, five generations sharing one birthday. Wow.
- 14:51Speaker 2: 97.1 Wash FM. Toby and Chili in the morning. Got thoughts.
- 14:55Speaker 4: 866-927-4361.
- 14:56Speaker 2: If you missed it, the backstory.
- 14:58Speaker 3: They were all born on September 14th, and now they're
- 15:01Speaker 3: in the Guinness Book of World Records for having that
- 15:04Speaker 3: incredible coincidence in their family. But we were wondering, do
- 15:08Speaker 3: you share a birthday with any friends or relatives? And
- 15:10Speaker 3: how do you feel about that?
- 15:12Speaker 2: In Old Town Fairfax on this Tuesday morning, Ricky.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I remember in high school, me and two girls in
- 15:19Speaker 4: my grade all shared the same birthday.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Now, did you think that was cool or annoying?
- 15:23Speaker 5: It was kind of our thing.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Right. You know, and we all shared a bond and
- 15:28Speaker 4: we're all cool with each other because, hey, we had
- 15:30Speaker 4: the same birthday.
- 15:31Speaker 2: That seems to be a very good and healthy way
- 15:34Speaker 2: to look at it there, Ricky.
- 15:35Speaker 3: And also after you guys kind of graduate, you go
- 15:38Speaker 3: your separate ways for the most part. So it's just
- 15:40Speaker 3: a short lived sharing.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:43Speaker 2: The only time you get reminded is say on Facebook.
- 15:45Speaker 2: That's right. Hey, this birthday, you share it with five others.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Good morning, Shelby and Adams Morgan.
- 15:53Speaker 4: I don't know anyone with my birthday, but my mom
- 15:56Speaker 4: and her mom have the same birthday and it makes
- 15:59Speaker 4: it way easier to remember them.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Wait, how does your mom feel about having had to
- 16:04Speaker 3: share a birthday with her own mother?
- 16:06Speaker 2: My mom swears she was the favorite child because of it.
- 16:09Speaker 2: That is a very astute point. Isn't it always that way?
- 16:14Speaker 2: Moms choose a favorite. In this case, your mom. Was
- 16:18Speaker 2: your grandmother's favorite? If you had a younger sister, she
- 16:21Speaker 2: might have been the favorite too. I didn't say it
- 16:23Speaker 2: was fair. It's just how things were. Share a birthday
- 16:25Speaker 2: with a member of the family. How's that working out
- 16:27Speaker 2: for you? Tell us everything. Tap the talkback microphone if
- 16:30Speaker 2: you're signed in listening on your iHeart app. It is
- 16:33Speaker 2: wide open for you to send us a quick voice
- 16:35Speaker 2: note with your thoughts. And stay there. Top stories at
- 16:38Speaker 2: the top of the hour coming up. Chili, what do
- 16:41Speaker 2: we have to look forward to right around 7-10 with
- 16:44Speaker 2: the news?
- 16:45Speaker 3: I don't know if you've noticed, but... Pickle-flavored snacks are
- 16:49Speaker 3: really having a moment. I've got more on that coming
- 16:53Speaker 3: up in just a few.
- 16:53Speaker 5: 97.1 WASH-FM, Washington.
- 16:58Speaker 1: An iHeartRadio station. Coming up on Top Stories, top of
- 17:02Speaker 1: the hour.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Northeast airports are still catching up after yesterday's hours-long ground stop.
- 17:09Speaker 3: We've got the latest on that story and others coming
- 17:12Speaker 3: up with Toby and Chili in the morning on 97.1
- 17:16Speaker 3: Wash FM.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Northeast airports are still catching up after yesterday's hours-long ground stop.

- 18:29Speaker 3: violence and disorderly conduct. D.C. 's Transportation Department has awarded
- 18:35Speaker 3: Lyft a five-year contract to expand capital bike share. The
- 18:39Speaker 3: plan adds more electric docking stations to boost e-bike availability,
- 18:44Speaker 3: building on the network's current 850 stations. And finally, pickle-flavored
- 18:50Speaker 3: snacks are truly having a moment, with sales up 30%
- 18:54Speaker 3: this year, way outpacing snacks overall. Dill pickle almonds, for example,
- 19:01Speaker 3: saw over 800% growth. And Flamin' Hot dill pickle Cheetos
- 19:06Speaker 3: are now a permanent shelf item. Gen Z's TikTok obsession

- 20:54Speaker 3: The light to turn green. Especially if you have a
- 20:59Speaker 3: longer commute. I bet that's so true. Yeah. Do you
- 21:03Speaker 3: find that to be true for you there, Chris?
- 21:05Speaker 1: Absolutely. Commuter like many others.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Well, we're glad that you at least listened to us

- 21:12Speaker 3: the light to change.
- 21:13Speaker 2: You know, twiddling your thumbs and such while waiting. And waiting.

- 21:28Speaker 2: Going to the Jonas Brothers, sir.

- 21:50Speaker 4: You too, as well.
- 21:51Speaker 2: And if you want to see the Jonas Brothers, you've
- 21:54Speaker 2: got to be here tomorrow, right around 7, 10-ish, just
- 21:57Speaker 2: after Top Stories at the top of the hour. These
- 21:59Speaker 2: Joe Bro tickets could be yours with 97.1 Wash FM
- 22:04Speaker 2: tomorrow morning. Now stay there because... Not sure.
- 22:08Speaker 3: If you heard, but rowing at the 2032 Olympics is
- 22:11Speaker 3: going to take place in a crocodile filled river. So
- 22:14Speaker 3: let's have a little bit of fun. If you could
- 22:17Speaker 3: add an unexpected element of danger to any sport, what
- 22:21Speaker 3: would it be?
- 22:22Speaker 4: 866-927-4361.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Let's talk.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So be in Chile in the morning. It is 97.1
- 22:30Speaker 2: Wash FM on this Tuesday. What sport would be way
- 22:34Speaker 2: more fun to watch if there was just a little
- 22:37Speaker 2: more danger added to it? Because in the Olympics, rowing
- 22:41Speaker 2: in 2032, it's going to happen on this beautiful Australian river.
- 22:45Speaker 2: This river infested with crocodiles. Crocodiles, Chile.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. It doesn't seem like very fair
- 22:51Speaker 3: racing conditions. But hey, if you don't fall out of
- 22:54Speaker 3: the boat, you're fine.
- 22:55Speaker 2: So what sport would you improve with a little bit
- 22:59Speaker 2: of danger added to it? Or, well, that would ratchet
- 23:02Speaker 2: up the drama.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think it would be an improvement. But
- 23:05Speaker 3: if we were going to go with this ridiculousness, I
- 23:07Speaker 3: don't know, throw some electric eels into a swimming pool
- 23:10Speaker 3: and see how much faster they swim in the Olympics.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I like the idea of Olympic cycling only with jousting
- 23:17Speaker 2: thrown into it.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 23:19Speaker 2: You give the cyclist a little something to carry around,
- 23:22Speaker 2: much like it's medieval jousting. And then they just go
- 23:25Speaker 2: around and they whack other cyclists off their bikes. And
- 23:29Speaker 2: that's how you ultimately get and then win the gold.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I mean, it'd be an interesting caveat.
- 23:34Speaker 3: 866-927-4361.
- 23:34Speaker 2: So What sport would you pick to ratchet up with
- 23:40Speaker 2: a little bit of danger? Becky and Herndon, go ahead.
- 23:43Speaker 5: What do you mean by that?
- 23:44Speaker 6: Oh.
- 23:54Speaker 3: So the Chicago Bears would actually have a grizzly or something.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Because nothing says fun like having an actual wild animal
- 24:01Speaker 2: roaming the field.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I bet every team would suddenly have a kitten or
- 24:06Speaker 1: a puppy mascot.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Well, where's the fun in running from a kitten or
- 24:10Speaker 2: a puppy? But thank you for jumping in this morning there, Becky.
- 24:13Speaker 2: American Bethesda.
- 24:14Speaker 4: It would be really cool if hockey was done on
- 24:17Speaker 4: an actual frozen lake, like with like the risk of
- 24:20Speaker 4: falling in.
- 24:21Speaker 3: You know, Derek, a lot of the players who are
- 24:23Speaker 3: like from Canada, especially that's kind of how they trained
- 24:25Speaker 3: as kids playing on frozen lakes.
- 24:28Speaker 4: It would be scary if the barrier around was like
- 24:31Speaker 4: this ice water where players could actually fall in.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Okay, well, that changes a little bit.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because nothing changes a game like frostbite. Got thoughts
- 24:40Speaker 2: to add? You know where to find us? Tap that
- 24:41Speaker 2: talkback microphone. In the meantime, top stories at the top
- 24:45Speaker 2: of the hour on the way right around 8, 10 chilly.
- 24:48Speaker 2: What's good?
- 24:49Speaker 3: DC area airports are the first to test new AI
- 24:53Speaker 3: technology to cut flight delays. I've got more on that
- 24:57Speaker 3: coming up in just a few minutes.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It's now history. 97.1 Wash FM. Toby and Tilly in
- 25:02Speaker 2: the morning talking about our iHeartRadio music festival happened over
- 25:05Speaker 2: the weekend in Vegas. Thanks to Capital One. Oh, you
- 25:10Speaker 2: missed it? You didn't see the Goo Goo Dolls and
- 25:12Speaker 2: that sing-along?
- 25:13Speaker 4: What?
- 25:14Speaker 3: Oh, but you'll get to relive those once-in-a-lifetime moments starting
- 25:17Speaker 3: October 1st only on Disney Plus and Hulu.
- 25:20Speaker 5: 97.1 WASH FM, Washington.
- 25:24Speaker 1: An iHeartRadio station. Coming up on Top Stories, top of
- 25:28Speaker 1: the hour.
- 25:29Speaker 3: An equipment outage led to travel chaos in the Northeast yesterday.
- 25:33Speaker 3: We've got the latest on that story and others on
- 25:36Speaker 3: the way. With Toby and Chili in the morning on
- 25:39Speaker 3: 97.1 Wash FM.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 25:45Speaker 3: An equipment outage led to travel chaos in the Northeast yesterday.
- 25:49Speaker 3: The FAA issued ground stops for several airports in the region,
- 25:54Speaker 3: causing hundreds of delays and cancellations after fiber optic cables
- 25:58Speaker 3: in New Jersey were cut by a construction crew. at
- 26:01Speaker 3: an off-airport site. Meanwhile, the FAA has launched new AI
- 26:05Speaker 3: technology to cut flight delays, and the D.C. area is
- 26:10Speaker 3: the first region testing it. The SMART system gives air
- 26:14Speaker 3: traffic controllers better weather and traffic data to make smarter calls. Well,
- 26:19Speaker 3: the president is not being covered by the television press
- 26:23Speaker 3: pool after he banned CNN, MSN Now, and Politico from
- 26:27Speaker 3: the White House, accusing the organizations of negative coverage. So
- 26:31Speaker 3: those outlets are now taking legal action with a hearing
- 26:33Speaker 3: set for tomorrow. Starting next Monday, teens under 18 are
- 26:38Speaker 3: going to need an adult with them if they go
- 26:40Speaker 3: to Westfield Wheaton and Westfield Montgomery Malls after 3 p.m.
- 26:45Speaker 3: The adult is allowed to supervise up to four minors,
- 26:48Speaker 3: and this new policy applies every day, including the mall's
- 26:52Speaker 3: outdoor areas. Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando is back at
- 26:57Speaker 3: work after a heart attack during a pickup basketball game
- 27:00Speaker 3: earlier this month. He had a stent placed, and doctors
- 27:03Speaker 3: expect a full recovery. And Marcus Marietta takes over at
- 27:08Speaker 3: quarterback for the Washington Commanders this Sunday against Seattle after
- 27:13Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels dislocated his elbow. Coach Dan Quinn says that
- 27:17Speaker 3: Jaden is seeing more specialists this week and the team's
- 27:20Speaker 3: going to be holding off on signing a backup until
- 27:22Speaker 3: those evaluations wrap up. Forecast today, it's going to be rainy.
- 27:26Speaker 3: with the temperatures remaining around 62 throughout the day.
- 27:31Speaker 2: There goes the news with Toby and Tilly in the morning. Remember,
- 27:34Speaker 2: you get top stories at the top of the hour
- 27:36Speaker 2: next at 97.1 Wash FM. You know those people, they
- 27:40Speaker 2: can tell a story about the family, and you sit
- 27:43Speaker 2: there and you're like, wait a minute, were you at
- 27:45Speaker 2: my house? Leanne Morgan has turned that into an Emmy-winning
- 27:50Speaker 2: Netflix show. She's with us in minutes. Wait till you
- 27:53Speaker 2: hear why women see themselves in her. Apparently, we all
- 27:57Speaker 2: live with the same people. You'll have to hear this
- 28:01Speaker 2: to understand what I mean when I say that somebody
- 28:04Speaker 2: owes all of us some alimony. Hang on. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 28:07Speaker 2: she is fresh off an Emmy win for her Netflix show,
- 28:12Speaker 2: the sitcom Leigh-Anne, season two streaming right now. She's taking
- 28:16Speaker 2: the time of our lives to her across the country.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Good morning, Leigh-Anne Morgan. Congratulations.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Thank y'all. Can y'all believe all this? No, can you
- 28:25Speaker 3: believe all this? No, my darling.
- 28:28Speaker 6: I thought that I've dreamed this since I was little,
- 28:31Speaker 6: but I did not know it was going to be
- 28:32Speaker 6: this special and this big and this wonderful.
- 28:35Speaker 3: What I love about Leanne, the show on Netflix, you
- 28:38Speaker 3: are not afraid to tackle all the things that come
- 28:41Speaker 3: with being of a certain age, including the M word, menopause.
- 28:46Speaker 5: And you make it funny, but.
- 28:48Speaker 3: You also are talking out loud what everybody was somehow
- 28:51Speaker 3: afraid of addressing.
- 28:53Speaker 6: Menopause, honey, was such a blow. I thought, why didn't
- 28:56Speaker 6: anybody talk about that? We need to know what's happening.
- 28:59Speaker 3: And I guess I was the first person on Netflix
- 29:01Speaker 3: to talk about menopause. Who would have thought? I hope
- 29:04Speaker 3: I get a third season, y'all. Well, and Emmy is
- 29:06Speaker 3: going to help you with that for sure, Leanne. For
- 29:08Speaker 3: people who are trying to catch up, tell them what
- 29:11Speaker 3: this show is truly about.
- 29:12Speaker 6: This season, my mom and daddy move into my house,
- 29:15Speaker 6: which is something I'm dealing with in real life.
- 29:18Speaker 3: And it's just magic.
- 29:19Speaker 5: And I don't think anybody depict having.
- 29:21Speaker 6: To care for elderly on TV right now.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Just like they weren't depicted. And menopause.
- 29:26Speaker 2: That's right.
- 29:27Speaker 3: And menopause. And trying to date when you go through
- 29:29Speaker 3: a divorce. Oh, I love it.
- 29:31Speaker 2: What's the one dream that you have not gotten yet?
- 29:35Speaker 6: I think I wouldn't mind having a pot or pan
- 29:38Speaker 6: in Target or Walmart. I think that'd be fun because
- 29:40Speaker 6: I do love a pot and pans and some salt
- 29:43Speaker 6: and pepper shakers because.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I am a mama. But You know, if that doesn't happen,
- 29:47Speaker 3: that's okay. I'm just having the best time of my life.
- 29:50Speaker 6: That's why I named the tour Time of Our Lives 2.
- 29:53Speaker 6: And I think that's, y'all, because I'm in a lane
- 29:55Speaker 6: by myself, and I think Hollywood kind of ignored my demographic.
- 29:59Speaker 3: It's just been so special. Everybody needs to know how
- 30:02Speaker 3: hard it is to get a hold of an estrogen
- 30:04Speaker 3: patch these days. Oh, Lord. There is a shortage.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I know.
- 30:08Speaker 6: If you had to, could you switch to a compounded cream?
- 30:12Speaker 5: You know what?
- 30:13Speaker 3: That's what I did. That's what you need to do.
- 30:15Speaker 3: You know what? That's got to be in season three, Leanne.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Give Chili some writing credit on that one there. Come
- 30:21Speaker 2: on now, so she can go up there and get
- 30:22Speaker 2: an Emmy with you, you know?
- 30:24Speaker 5: I know, Chili.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Well, you have said it all, Leanne.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Well, y'all, thank y'all so much.
- 30:29Speaker 6: And thank y'all for... I'm having a ball, and I
- 30:33Speaker 6: hope people enjoy season two. So far, it's going wonderful,
- 30:37Speaker 6: and we're hoping it keeps going so I can get
- 30:39Speaker 6: a season three, y'all. They'll let me know in a
- 30:41Speaker 6: few weeks.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Well, it's going to happen. And I'll tell you, here's
- 30:45Speaker 2: why it's going to happen. Because you are a blessing
- 30:47Speaker 2: to so many people. And the talk we've had this
- 30:51Speaker 2: morning has been a blessing to us. And I thank you.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for teaching me about
- 30:57Speaker 2: creams and estrogen cream.
- 31:00Speaker 6: Well, you're welcome. Thank you all for letting me talk.
- 31:03Speaker 3: I've had a bowl.

- 32:27Speaker 2: of adversity and change, we really discover who we are
- 32:31Speaker 2: and what we're made of. Nobody asks for the hard season,
- 32:35Speaker 2: but the version of you that comes out on the
