Latest / Outspoken the Podcast / How Wrong We Were... Revisiting Our Influencer Predictions
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Kate Torber and I'm coming to you in that weird
- 0:12Speaker 1: period after Christmas where nobody knows what day it is.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I feel like we have to have a little bit
- 0:17Speaker 1: more accountability now that it's the new year. We are
- 0:19Speaker 1: recording this in January. Well, this was meant to be pre-recorded,
- 0:23Speaker 1: wasn't it? It was. I actually think it's nicer to
- 0:25Speaker 1: record this in real time because I feel a bit
- 0:27Speaker 1: more refreshed. We had a good week and a half off.
- 0:31Speaker 1: It makes you excited to get back into things, back
- 0:34Speaker 1: into the influence world. So much has been going on
- 0:36Speaker 1: since the break as well. Well, as you can tell
- 0:38Speaker 1: by the title of this episode, we're not back to
- 0:41Speaker 1: regular scheduling this week. We will be back next week.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And I've had quite a few messages saying, When are
- 0:48Speaker 1: you talking about Tammy Hembrough? Don't worry. We will be
- 0:50Speaker 1: going in depth on everything that's been going down with
- 0:53Speaker 1: Tammy next week. In today's show though, we are going
- 0:56Speaker 1: to be revisiting our 2025 influencer predictions. Now, sadly, I
- 1:00Speaker 1: wasn't part of last year's episode. I think I was
- 1:04Speaker 1: celebrating my anniversary. There was some reason that you guys
- 1:07Speaker 1: were hanging shit on me about it. Well, I actually
- 1:09Speaker 1: ended up having to listen back to that episode to
- 1:11Speaker 1: see what we said. And it was hilarious because We
- 1:14Speaker 1: did hang shit on you. We're like, I'm not sure
- 1:16Speaker 1: why Sophie needs the whole day to celebrate her anniversary.
- 1:18Speaker 1: It was very special. It was, I mean, it's nine
- 1:21Speaker 1: years this year. And did we do much? Nah. We
- 1:24Speaker 1: spent it on the couch relaxing. I think we had
- 1:26Speaker 1: some takeaway. It was very different to last year. Well,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm glad that, you know, you celebrated properly the year before.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I think we should get into the correct predictions first.
- 1:34Speaker 1: So this might be a little bit of a stretch
- 1:36Speaker 1: because we actually set it in our 2023 predictions for 2024.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But we predicted that Chloe Zep and Mitch Orville would
- 1:44Speaker 1: return to YouTube with a family vlogging channel. It only
- 1:47Speaker 1: took two years, but it kind of happened this year.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So they announced that they are set to make a
- 1:52Speaker 1: return based on their two young sons, Artie and Sonny's request.
- 1:55Speaker 1: We're yet to see a video though. So maybe it's
- 1:58Speaker 1: going to be something that happens in 2026. In saying that,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I saw that Chloe Zep has now set up a
- 2:05Speaker 1: kind of motherhood religious sub stack and she put it
- 2:09Speaker 1: on her story and you said, here's the link to it.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Only seven people have subscribed. How much does it cost?
- 2:15Speaker 1: You know? Well, I think it's actually free. Oh, okay.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I feel like having a sub stack is like the
- 2:20Speaker 1: 2026 version of having a podcast. Like, you know, everyone's
- 2:23Speaker 1: starting one. It's very oversaturated. That is pretty embarrassing to
- 2:27Speaker 1: only get seven subscribers. But what do you expect when
- 2:30Speaker 1: you have completely fallen off the face of the earth?
- 2:33Speaker 1: I hope that they actually do bring out this family
- 2:36Speaker 1: vlogging channel again. I mean, they said it would be
- 2:38Speaker 1: more of a family adventure style, a little bit like
- 2:41Speaker 1: Brody Moss, but think that would be pretty cool. I
- 2:44Speaker 1: think Mitch would be great in it. Mitch has got
- 2:45Speaker 1: a fantastic personality for being on camera. I think he
- 2:50Speaker 1: really made Chloe and his vlogs. They had their couple
- 2:53Speaker 1: vlogging channel and he was in charge of filming majority
- 2:57Speaker 1: of it. Yeah. I think Mitch, you know, I hate
- 3:00Speaker 1: to say it was the star of the show. And
- 3:02Speaker 1: I think Chloe, it seems like she's lost a bit
- 3:04Speaker 1: of confidence in front of a camera. Like I saw
- 3:05Speaker 1: her recording an ad And I was like, it seems
- 3:08Speaker 1: like she's never been online before. Well, if you cast
- 3:10Speaker 1: your minds back, I think it was either 2021 or
- 3:13Speaker 1: 2020 that we did an episode entitled The Cancellation of
- 3:16Speaker 1: Chloe Zep. And that is really when she had an
- 3:18Speaker 1: influx of people unfollowing her. She was in the headlines
- 3:21Speaker 1: at the time. From that time onward, she has really
- 3:23Speaker 1: been quite irrelevant. So that's four years of not really
- 3:27Speaker 1: posting anything, not being engaged with her audience. I mean,
- 3:29Speaker 1: she shut down her clothing line last year. It seems
- 3:33Speaker 1: like since then she's been searching online. For something else.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I mean, she came out and basically said she regretted
- 3:38Speaker 1: doing that. Or closing it. Yeah. I noticed on her
- 3:42Speaker 1: Instagram bio, it says that she closed up and is
- 3:45Speaker 1: now the CEO at home. But it's quite clear that
- 3:47Speaker 1: she's looking for something else additional. I don't know if
- 3:51Speaker 1: her talking about religion is maybe the way to go.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I think that it would work for an American market.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But I'm not sure what her demographic, when you break
- 3:58Speaker 1: it down via location, looks like. I assumed it would
- 4:01Speaker 1: be Aussies. Now, let's get into another prediction we got right.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And that was that Morgan Waterhouse, Olivia Rogers' ex, would
- 4:09Speaker 1: date a low-level influencer. So, again, it seems like we
- 4:13Speaker 1: sort of somewhat got that correct. And this is no
- 4:16Speaker 1: shade thrown at the beautiful woman he ended up dating
- 4:18Speaker 1: this year. So, in May 2025, Morgan attended a runway
- 4:22Speaker 1: show with a 32-year-old Perth model called Bella Secaro. So
- 4:27Speaker 1: she is somewhat of a micro-influencer. She's got 16.9 thousand
- 4:31Speaker 1: followers and alongside her modelling career, she is an account
- 4:34Speaker 1: manager for fashion brand Runway The Label. She also appeared
- 4:38Speaker 1: on both Made in Chelsea and Made in Bondi. It's
- 4:41Speaker 1: pretty wild because Bella has previously dated Tammy Hembrough's ex-fiancé
- 4:46Speaker 1: Matt Poole as well as Sydney Swans footballer Isaac Heaney.
- 4:49Speaker 1: A couple of episodes ago, you were talking about making
- 4:52Speaker 1: a bit of a family tree. I don't know if
- 4:53Speaker 1: family tree is the right word, but a bit of
- 4:55Speaker 1: a map of all of the influences connected with Tammy
- 4:59Speaker 1: Hembrough and her past relationships. Here's another branch to add
- 5:02Speaker 1: to that tree. I mean, in terms of Bella's relationship
- 5:05Speaker 1: with Morgan Waterhouse, it's unclear if they're still dating. Before
- 5:08Speaker 1: their public appearance together, Bella appeared in a reel of
- 5:11Speaker 1: Morgan's back in April, but we haven't seen anything since.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So I'm assuming that they have split. Moving on to
- 5:17Speaker 1: our next correct prediction. Well, I actually should give Amy credit.
- 5:20Speaker 1: She's the one that came up with this. She said
- 5:21Speaker 1: that Sophie Jane Miller would launch a matcher company. She did.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It's called Matcher Lane. What I didn't predict was that
- 5:27Speaker 1: Amy would be so addicted to matcha and then get
- 5:29Speaker 1: us all into it. We've been getting a lot of
- 5:31Speaker 1: stick from people saying, oh, you're only drinking it because
- 5:34Speaker 1: influencers do. Like our cousins were like, oh, all for
- 5:36Speaker 1: the grandma. I'm like, no, it's actually delicious. It's actually
- 5:38Speaker 1: a reason not to drink it. No, I am absolutely
- 5:42Speaker 1: hooked too. One of the things that we spoke about
- 5:45Speaker 1: when we touched on the launch of her new company
- 5:48Speaker 1: was the pricing. So I brought up at the time
- 5:52Speaker 1: that it seemed quite expensive to for the small sachet
- 5:56Speaker 1: that they were getting. Now, I think because it was
- 5:58Speaker 1: a startup, they wanted to dip their toe in the
- 6:00Speaker 1: water with just a small package. Because it has been
- 6:03Speaker 1: quite successful, they have now released a larger package, which
- 6:06Speaker 1: makes a lot more sense. I mean, it's ceremonial grade
- 6:09Speaker 1: matcha as well, which, you know, when we weren't drinking matcha,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I didn't really know much about it. But it's hard
- 6:14Speaker 1: to get good matcha. I haven't actually tried it. I'm
- 6:16Speaker 1: very tempted to. I'm starting to get quite influenced by it. Yeah,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I seem to be swayed because I– enjoy Sophie Jane
- 6:23Speaker 1: Miller's vlogs. I also enjoy watching Georgia Richards, Smiley Citrus, Rachel, Catherine,
- 6:29Speaker 1: all of their sort of friendship group and they're always
- 6:32Speaker 1: all drinking it. I really enjoyed Sophie Jane Miller's vlogmas
- 6:36Speaker 1: and then Georgia Richards did the December Diaries. Oh, I
- 6:39Speaker 1: was hooked on Georgia Richards. I think she put out
- 6:41Speaker 1: the perfect amount because I think she released every three
- 6:44Speaker 1: to four days and it was enough time that she
- 6:46Speaker 1: had enough interesting things to include in there. There is
- 6:49Speaker 1: something about her vlogs. that is so undeniably relaxing. She
- 6:53Speaker 1: is a fantastic vlogger because she has this ability to
- 6:56Speaker 1: draw you into her world because she's very relatable. She
- 7:01Speaker 1: kind of says when she's having a shit time, which
- 7:03Speaker 1: I liked it. You know, it's not just the highlights
- 7:06Speaker 1: reel of her life. You said relatable, but I don't
- 7:10Speaker 1: think her lifestyle is that relatable in the sense that she,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you know, doesn't work a nine to five, From the
- 7:16Speaker 1: outside looking in, it seems like a lot of the
- 7:18Speaker 1: activities that she does are very enjoyable and fun. But
- 7:21Speaker 1: I think what makes it relatable is that she's very
- 7:23Speaker 1: open about her mental health. Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I don't think that her career is particularly relatable to
- 7:29Speaker 1: most people or the way that the flexibility that she
- 7:31Speaker 1: has with her lifestyle. Because sometimes I watch it and
- 7:33Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, it seems like a bit of
- 7:35Speaker 1: a chore to go down to Coles. Like, you know
- 7:38Speaker 1: what I mean? But I do love her content. No
- 7:40Speaker 1: shade thrown at her. But that's the stage of their
- 7:42Speaker 1: life that they're in. When you do reflect on your mid-20s,
- 7:46Speaker 1: it was a bitch to go to the supermarket. It's
- 7:47Speaker 1: not until you're in your 30s and you're a mother
- 7:50Speaker 1: that it's an actual pleasure to go to the supermarket
- 7:52Speaker 1: on your own.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think it's kind of nice also watching it because
- 7:55Speaker 1: it does make you, you know, at my age reflect
- 7:58Speaker 1: on those fun times that you had when you didn't
- 8:00Speaker 1: have any responsibilities. Like it's a bit of an escapism,
- 8:03Speaker 1: I suppose. Yeah. Anyway, back to another one of our
- 8:05Speaker 1: correct predictions. We said this time next year, Steph Clare
- 8:09Speaker 1: Smith's hair will be long and luscious, but possibly have
- 8:13Speaker 1: hair extensions in it to help with postpartum hair loss. Now,
- 8:16Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure she doesn't have extensions, but she's growing
- 8:18Speaker 1: out that bob. I also saw today, hot off the press,
- 8:21Speaker 1: that apparently she is considering getting her fringe back. No,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I don't think she should. I think that what's happening
- 8:27Speaker 1: with Steph Clare-Smith, and I think this is what a
- 8:29Speaker 1: lot of influencers do, is she's gone back and had
- 8:32Speaker 1: a bit of a stalk of her own Instagram, a
- 8:33Speaker 1: bit of a nostalgic look back at the time when
- 8:36Speaker 1: she wore that fringe. And that was before she had Harvey.
- 8:39Speaker 1: So probably- She had it after though, I'm pretty sure. No,
- 8:42Speaker 1: she said that she had it four years ago before Harvey.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Really?
- 8:45Speaker 1: And I think that that would have been a really
- 8:46Speaker 1: exciting time in her life where she had a lot
- 8:48Speaker 1: of freedom and she's probably thinking, I want to be
- 8:51Speaker 1: that Steph again. I want to be that version of
- 8:53Speaker 1: me again. Let's get the fringe back. I feel like saying, honey,
- 8:55Speaker 1: just wait till you get one like me. I've got
- 8:57Speaker 1: a fringe. I didn't choose it. It's just postpartum hair growth.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I need to do something with my hair because it
- 9:03Speaker 1: is not looking good either. The baby hair, being blonde, well,
- 9:07Speaker 1: having fake blonde hair, having black baby hair coming through
- 9:10Speaker 1: is not a vibe. Well, I'm not looking forward to
- 9:13Speaker 1: this time next year when you've got a little little
- 9:16Speaker 1: 80s fringe like I have, it's honestly been worse than
- 9:19Speaker 1: I thought. And because you can't actually pin any of
- 9:21Speaker 1: this down. Again, I keep talking about how influenced I
- 9:24Speaker 1: am over the influencer products. Obviously it's in the name,
- 9:27Speaker 1: it's meant to be influential, but I'm that tempted to
- 9:29Speaker 1: go buy a bouff hair at this stage. Well, maybe
- 9:32Speaker 1: buy it and let us know if it actually works. Yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I will. Now getting into our final correct prediction for 2025,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and that was that Molly May and Tommy Fury would
- 9:40Speaker 1: get back together Love to see it. I take my
- 9:43Speaker 1: hat off to Molly because even though as a consumer
- 9:46Speaker 1: of her content, we're all very aware of the murkiness
- 9:49Speaker 1: that has gone on behind the scenes, that the controversy,
- 9:53Speaker 1: you know, Tommy's been painted as really a bit of
- 9:55Speaker 1: a dickhead, a bit of a lad who likes to
- 9:57Speaker 1: go out and drink. But the way that she curates
- 9:59Speaker 1: the photos of them, you would think that they were
- 10:02Speaker 1: the perfect couple, but they never had an argument. It's
- 10:04Speaker 1: like just back on to what it used to be.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And I like to just believe in it. Yeah. Even
- 10:08Speaker 1: though I know it's a facade. I mean, I hope
- 10:10Speaker 1: that Tommy has changed a bit. I mean, he was
- 10:13Speaker 1: very open that he struggled with drinking. I'm assuming that
- 10:15Speaker 1: he's getting help now. But I do think, you know,
- 10:18Speaker 1: deep down we all know that was a little bit
- 10:20Speaker 1: of an excuse for bad behavior that might have occurred
- 10:24Speaker 1: in the relationship. You're talking about potential cheating. Well, there
- 10:26Speaker 1: are infidelity claims. We don't know what actually happened. Actually,
- 10:30Speaker 1: that's just reminded me. We had a bit of a
- 10:33Speaker 1: fail over New Year's because– I, there's a trending video
- 10:38Speaker 1: on TikTok where basically people secretly film themselves giving their
- 10:42Speaker 1: brother-in-law a hug. I was hoping we can still do
- 10:44Speaker 1: this though. Well, Dale's not going to listen to this.
- 10:46Speaker 1: We're going to try and do it with Dale, but
- 10:47Speaker 1: basically we all messaged. So we were just having a
- 10:50Speaker 1: very chilled New Year's at your place, Kate, you put
- 10:52Speaker 1: on this really nice barbecue. It did actually end with
- 10:54Speaker 1: a storm out, not by me, by Amy. Amy is
- 10:57Speaker 1: the queen of storming out. Well, it was egg on
- 10:59Speaker 1: her face because she had made this Rocky Road and
- 11:03Speaker 1: she'd made it this really special one that she particularly liked.
- 11:06Speaker 1: She always makes very wacky Rocky Road. Yeah, it was
- 11:08Speaker 1: gummy bears, Skittles. I think it may have had clinkers
- 11:12Speaker 1: in it and there was something else that was random too,
- 11:14Speaker 1: but love it. She left the whole bowl at my house. Anyway,
- 11:17Speaker 1: she stormed off after a disagreement. It was about the podcast,
- 11:22Speaker 1: wasn't it? We were having some strategy meetings regarding the podcast,
- 11:25Speaker 1: which probably is inappropriate to have on. New Year's Eve,
- 11:28Speaker 1: but there was a bit of a storm. Anyway, that
- 11:29Speaker 1: was not what we were actually talking about. We were talking, though,
- 11:32Speaker 1: before we went to your New Year's about how we
- 11:34Speaker 1: have to secretly film me hugging Rhys and you hugging
- 11:38Speaker 1: Brandon just to capture their reaction. We thought it would
- 11:40Speaker 1: be funny. It would have been so funny me hugging
- 11:42Speaker 1: Brandon because we've got this, you know, we were friends first.
- 11:45Speaker 1: He used to be my intern at work. You know,
- 11:47Speaker 1: we don't hug. You sort of have that– Not brother-sister hate.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I don't mean it like that. But you kind of
- 11:53Speaker 1: have that banter where you would never actually give him
- 11:56Speaker 1: a hug or.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Or the instances that we have on your wedding, it's
- 12:00Speaker 1: sort of we make a joke about it. Yeah. But anyway,
- 12:03Speaker 1: I went to... I was about to initiate the hug
- 12:06Speaker 1: with Rhys and Amy completely blew the whole thing. Like
- 12:09Speaker 1: she's like, what are you guys doing? Yeah, because you
- 12:12Speaker 1: were indicating to me to record and Amy's like... Well,
- 12:14Speaker 1: I actually think that sparked the argument when I reflect
- 12:17Speaker 1: on it. Now, the reason we are bringing up this
- 12:19Speaker 1: very long-winded story is because a video that Zoe Rague
- 12:23Speaker 1: posted over the Christmas period went viral. It got 8.8
- 12:26Speaker 1: million views and it was the brother-in-law hug. So she
- 12:30Speaker 1: gave Tommy a very awkward hug whilst they were both
- 12:33Speaker 1: in Christmas pyjamas. And one of the top comments was,
- 12:36Speaker 1: Tommy getting nervous in case he cheats again. That got
- 12:39Speaker 1: 13.8 thousand likes. And another comment that tickled my fancy
- 12:44Speaker 1: was someone saying Tommy's PJ is fighting for their life
- 12:47Speaker 1: because they were very, very tight on his muscles. That
- 12:50Speaker 1: one got over 100,000 likes. So now I'm very proud
- 12:53Speaker 1: of this one. I actually predicted that Anna Paul would
- 12:55Speaker 1: get cancelled in 2025. That was the biggest story of
- 13:00Speaker 1: the year. And I actually want to throw to what
- 13:02Speaker 1: I said because I found it quite fascinating. Yeah, on
- 13:05Speaker 1: Anna Paul, what do we think is going to happen
- 13:08Speaker 1: to her this year? Because some people on our Instagram
- 13:10Speaker 1: question box predicted that she would get cancelled. I don't
- 13:14Speaker 1: think so. I don't think anything negative is going to
- 13:17Speaker 1: happen to Anna Paul. I think she's a breath of
- 13:19Speaker 1: fresh air. I think she's just going to continue to
- 13:21Speaker 1: grow on TikTok. I think that she's going to do
- 13:24Speaker 1: very well again with her business. See, Amy, I actually
- 13:27Speaker 1: think that.
- 13:27Speaker 2: This could be true because the tide has really turned
- 13:31Speaker 2: on Anna Paul ever since she launched her brand, Paulie,
- 13:34Speaker 2: because before she was literally one of the only influencers
- 13:38Speaker 2: who wasn't doing any brand deals. She was making money
- 13:41Speaker 2: off OnlyFans. I actually think that she potentially could shut
- 13:46Speaker 2: down OnlyFans and focus purely on Paulie because there seems
- 13:50Speaker 2: to be this moral debate at the moment around, hang on,
- 13:54Speaker 2: people like Anna Paul, they're such role models for young people,
- 13:57Speaker 2: but they're on OnlyFans. And we saw it at the
- 14:01Speaker 2: end of last year when Bonnie Blue blew up all
- 14:05Speaker 2: over our news because She was going to schoolies and
- 14:09Speaker 2: promoting the fact that she wanted to have sex with
- 14:11Speaker 2: just legal guys.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but Anna Paul's not sharing that kind of content.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I know, but I do feel like we're at a
- 14:18Speaker 1: point where people are turning against OnlyFans content creators. I
- 14:23Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, I don't think that's the case
- 14:25Speaker 1: at all. I actually think that it would be more
- 14:26Speaker 1: damaging for Anna Paul's brand if she shut down her
- 14:29Speaker 1: OnlyFans account. I want to point out that Amy was like, no, no,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I think she's just going to be as popular as ever.
- 14:35Speaker 1: She was wrong. I think we forget just the darling
- 14:38Speaker 1: of TikTok that she was at the time. She really
- 14:41Speaker 1: could do no wrong. But I think you had also
- 14:44Speaker 1: an inkling because tall poppy syndrome is so rife in
- 14:47Speaker 1: Australia and what does go up always generally comes down.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Now let's move into our incorrect predictions because there was
- 14:53Speaker 1: quite a few of them. So we predicted that Michaela
- 14:56Speaker 1: Testa and Maxwell Krauss, her fiance, would break off their
- 15:00Speaker 1: engagement due to issues with Michaela's US visa. Now, you
- 15:04Speaker 1: guys were wrong because they are still very much together.
- 15:07Speaker 1: In fact, Michaela has been teasing that the couple are
- 15:10Speaker 1: trying to get pregnant. They're also in the process of
- 15:12Speaker 1: trying to relocate to the US, but it does seem
- 15:15Speaker 1: like there are some issues there. getting across there based
- 15:18Speaker 1: on Michaela's issues before with getting deported. Now getting into
- 15:21Speaker 1: the next one, you guys were very wrong about this one.
- 15:24Speaker 1: You predicted that Sky Wheatley and Lockie Waugh were going
- 15:27Speaker 1: to get engaged. And I think the reason why you
- 15:29Speaker 1: guys were leaning towards an engagement was I think it
- 15:32Speaker 1: was last year or the year prior, Skye kept trialing
- 15:35Speaker 1: engagement rings. So she had a deal with a jewelry
- 15:38Speaker 1: brand and she would try a new engagement ring every week.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So it seemed like something was on the horizon. There
- 15:44Speaker 1: were also talks that Lockie was going to propose to
- 15:46Speaker 1: her at her 30th. And she said, please don't do that.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I just want to enjoy my birthday. It was also
- 15:51Speaker 1: because she was sort of being a bit nonchalant about
- 15:53Speaker 1: it finally. Like after that full on year where she
- 15:55Speaker 1: was basically posting, you know, all these clues that she
- 15:58Speaker 1: wanted Lockie to propose. She then started saying that she
- 16:00Speaker 1: didn't want to get engaged. And I feel like she
- 16:02Speaker 1: was kind of playing it off to be like, you know,
- 16:04Speaker 1: when you say you don't want something, so then they
- 16:06Speaker 1: do it. I do want to stick up for myself though,
- 16:08Speaker 1: because I said that they would get engaged after going
- 16:11Speaker 1: on a couple of breaks. So they are currently on
- 16:14Speaker 1: a break. They're holidaying together with their kids at the moment.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Things seem a little bit better between them. So who knows,
- 16:19Speaker 1: there might be an engagement. I think over Christmas, they
- 16:21Speaker 1: seem to be in a better place. And Skye said
- 16:23Speaker 1: it had a lot to do with the fact that
- 16:26Speaker 1: they were on the same page about the renovations. So
- 16:28Speaker 1: We spoke about it a couple of weeks ago, how
- 16:30Speaker 1: they have completely run out of money to pay contractors
- 16:33Speaker 1: for their renovation. So they're now having to do everything themselves,
- 16:36Speaker 1: which does make sense because Lockie has a background in building.
- 16:40Speaker 1: He had his own company. Anyway, so Sky said that
- 16:43Speaker 1: now they're on the same page, it leads to less
- 16:44Speaker 1: arguments because they both feel like they're putting in equal
- 16:47Speaker 1: effort to the house. I mean, I'd like to see
- 16:49Speaker 1: them get in a better place and be happy. I
- 16:51Speaker 1: love them together. They're classic. Classic. Now, despite our inbox
- 16:56Speaker 1: being flooded at the end of last year with listeners
- 16:58Speaker 1: predicting that Tammy Hembrough and Matt Sikowsky would get divorced
- 17:01Speaker 1: this year. On air, we said we thought their marriage
- 17:04Speaker 1: would last the year. Now, I'm not just saying it
- 17:06Speaker 1: because we were wrong, but off mic, we agreed with listeners.
- 17:09Speaker 1: But we didn't want to be too harsh considering that
- 17:11Speaker 1: they only just got married, but I thought they would
- 17:13Speaker 1: get divorced. So you're saying that you put out a
- 17:16Speaker 1: prediction that you didn't wholeheartedly believe in, that you were
- 17:19Speaker 1: just trying to be nice. Is that what we're reading
- 17:21Speaker 1: between the lines here? Yes, I did because I felt
- 17:24Speaker 1: too mean. There was a lot of hate being thrown
- 17:26Speaker 1: at Tammy and Matt at the time. I think anyone
- 17:29Speaker 1: could have seen that this marriage wasn't going to last
- 17:31Speaker 1: very long. I mean, off the back of us discussing
- 17:34Speaker 1: whether we thought they would get divorced, I predicted that
- 17:36Speaker 1: Matt would cause a rift between Tammy and her sisters.
- 17:39Speaker 1: This was clearly going on behind the scenes while the
- 17:42Speaker 1: pair were together. But since the divorce announcement, it seems
- 17:45Speaker 1: like it's brought the sisters together. They're stronger than ever.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They've opened a new supplement brand together. In terms of
- 17:50Speaker 1: predictions around influencer relationships, You guys predicted that Madison Woolley
- 17:55Speaker 1: would get engaged to Jonathan Sauer. Those two are absolutely
- 17:58Speaker 1: blasts from the past. I feel like they have absolutely
- 18:00Speaker 1: fallen off the face of the earth in terms of
- 18:01Speaker 1: the influencer world. I sort of do a little bit
- 18:04Speaker 1: of a check-in on Madison Woolley's content in my burner
- 18:06Speaker 1: account because I've set up a burner account to look
- 18:08Speaker 1: at influencers' profiles. A lot of them blocked us.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And also I don't want to support them and follow
- 18:13Speaker 1: them in my own name. Anyway, but all she seems
- 18:15Speaker 1: to do at the moment is just post really like
- 18:17Speaker 1: pretentious photos of her overseas and And I'm like, that's
- 18:20Speaker 1: not what I want to see of you. I actually
- 18:22Speaker 1: think she's got a quite cool personality that came through
- 18:25Speaker 1: on her podcast. She's quite funny when she takes the
- 18:28Speaker 1: piss out of herself. Does she still post on YouTube?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Because I have not watched her content in years. I
- 18:33Speaker 1: actually need to have a look. I think that she's
- 18:35Speaker 1: dropped off there a little bit. Yeah, because they've ended
- 18:37Speaker 1: their podcast, her and her best friend, Caitlin Rodriguez. And
- 18:41Speaker 1: then They have actually started a content creation business where
- 18:44Speaker 1: they film weddings and other events. So they've been traveling
- 18:47Speaker 1: overseas doing that. Maybe that's where we got this engagement
- 18:50Speaker 1: vibe from because she's also converted her business, 23rd and Madison,
- 18:55Speaker 1: more into bridal wear. It used to be fashion. And
- 18:59Speaker 1: then she's got this wedding content business. And in the
- 19:01Speaker 1: middle of the year to promote her content wedding business,
- 19:06Speaker 1: She actually did this mock-up wedding shoot with Jonathan and
- 19:10Speaker 1: pretended that they were married. Well, also her best friend, Caitlin,
- 19:13Speaker 1: got engaged as well. So generally when someone's best friend
- 19:16Speaker 1: gets engaged, that's when there's a lot of pressure on
- 19:19Speaker 1: the boyfriend. I mean, I know Jonathan as being Sharni
- 19:21Speaker 1: Grumman's boyfriend of Instagram. They've actually been together for a
- 19:25Speaker 1: very long time now. See, I wouldn't be surprised if
- 19:28Speaker 1: they got engaged in 2026. So I've been together since 2019. Jeez,
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's a long time. Yeah. They'll either get engaged or
- 19:36Speaker 1: break up. I think this is a big year for them. Now,
- 19:38Speaker 1: Amy guessed that Cartier Milan would find God. She doesn't
- 19:42Speaker 1: appear to have found God. I mean, she hasn't moved
- 19:45Speaker 1: into the sort of Christian influencing space. She's not followed
- 19:49Speaker 1: in the footsteps of Chloe Zep or Sarah's Day. At
- 19:52Speaker 1: the time, I didn't actually agree with that one. Yeah,
- 19:54Speaker 1: to me, that one didn't really make sense because a
- 19:57Speaker 1: lot of influencers who find God, they have a predominantly
- 20:01Speaker 1: US audience because it seems to resonate well with them.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Her audience seems to be predominantly from Australia and the UK. Yeah, well,
- 20:08Speaker 1: she lives in the UK at the moment. Now, moving on,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I'm actually very embarrassed because I predicted this one and
- 20:13Speaker 1: it was completely incorrect. I said that Olivia would break
- 20:16Speaker 1: up with Hugo and date another Justin lookalike. Amy actually
- 20:20Speaker 1: said that they would be engaged. So she's sort of
- 20:22Speaker 1: closer to the money. No one had on their bingo
- 20:25Speaker 1: card that they would fall pregnant. I'm shocked that you
- 20:27Speaker 1: thought they would break up. Yeah, I'm embarrassed over that one.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I think it had just sort of fairly come out
- 20:30Speaker 1: recently that they were together. She'd been with Morgan Waterhouse
- 20:34Speaker 1: for a small amount of time. It seemed like She
- 20:36Speaker 1: was in her dating era. Fair enough. Fair enough. You
- 20:40Speaker 1: also predicted that Sammy Robinson would date a Mr. Big
- 20:43Speaker 1: type character, which again, we've more so seen her fall
- 20:47Speaker 1: into her regular dating type, which is New Zealand rugby players. Yeah. Well,
- 20:53Speaker 1: they've broken up now. So maybe, maybe again, it will
- 20:56Speaker 1: be something that will happen in 2026. Who knows? Now
- 20:59Speaker 1: we predicted that Abby Chatfield and Adam Hyde would get
- 21:02Speaker 1: engaged and That hasn't happened. But again, I keep saying it.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if it is a 2026 thing.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Have you been surprised by the amount of trolling that
- 21:13Speaker 1: Adam Hyde has been receiving really just for being Abby
- 21:16Speaker 1: Chatfield's boyfriend? No, I'm not surprised at all. It does
- 21:19Speaker 1: seem like the trolling of Abby Chatfield has increased this
- 21:24Speaker 1: year and it's really getting out of hand. I also
- 21:26Speaker 1: think that Adam Hyde has Had a lot of success
- 21:29Speaker 1: this year. Yeah, his song's been massive. His song has
- 21:32Speaker 1: been massive. Again, tall poppy syndrome, what goes up must
- 21:35Speaker 1: come down. There is a lot of piling on when
- 21:37Speaker 1: it comes to him. The only thing that I did
- 21:41Speaker 1: have a bit of a chuckle at was that viral video.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And I actually think that they would have laughed at
- 21:44Speaker 1: that too. Do you mean that guy that pretends to
- 21:46Speaker 1: be him? Because it's not just one video. Like he's
- 21:48Speaker 1: been doing a whole series. Yeah, yeah. There's been a
- 21:50Speaker 1: whole series of them. That seems to be a bit
- 21:52Speaker 1: more lighthearted. I feel like they'd have a bit of
- 21:53Speaker 1: a chuckle at that one too. I don't know. I
- 21:55Speaker 1: think they'd probably have a problem with it. Okay. I
- 21:58Speaker 1: don't know if you've seen all of them. I saw
- 22:00Speaker 1: one that went really viral and he kept doing the
- 22:02Speaker 1: dance thing. Yeah, they've gotten a bit nasty though, I think.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:06Speaker 1: They're probably taking it maybe a step too far. Now,
- 22:09Speaker 1: another one of your predictions that you got wrong was
- 22:11Speaker 1: that Sarah's day would be pregnant with baby number four.
- 22:15Speaker 1: And this was after she seemed to have a bit
- 22:17Speaker 1: of gender disappointment. So she seemed to really pin a
- 22:19Speaker 1: lot of hope in having a girl That seems to
- 22:22Speaker 1: be maybe why they were going for baby number three.
- 22:24Speaker 1: She did have a boy called Harlow.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:27Speaker 1: After seeing Sarah's year unfold, I'm not surprised that they
- 22:30Speaker 1: haven't gone for baby number four because poor Harlow had
- 22:33Speaker 1: pretty bad reflux and it seemed to impact Sarah's mental
- 22:37Speaker 1: health quite badly. I mean, she was quite open with
- 22:39Speaker 1: the fact that she suffered from postpartum depression. Now, while
- 22:43Speaker 1: we were incorrect about Sarah being pregnant with baby number four,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I was correct in saying that she would launch her
- 22:49Speaker 1: pregnancy guide So that came out after years of work.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Who knew though she would have such a quick turnaround
- 22:55Speaker 1: and launch the 560 challenge literally like a couple of
- 22:57Speaker 1: months after it. It's pretty crazy, isn't it? Now, another
- 23:00Speaker 1: prediction you got wrong was that Mia Plesik would start
- 23:04Speaker 1: a baby business. So whether that was releasing bone broth
- 23:07Speaker 1: for babies or Amy's guess was wooden toys. Now, this
- 23:11Speaker 1: was off the back of Mia posting a lot about
- 23:13Speaker 1: what her baby ate and how much effort she was
- 23:16Speaker 1: putting into making sure his food was organic. Well, this
- 23:20Speaker 1: was because she was overseas at the time for her
- 23:22Speaker 1: wedding and it looked like a huge ordeal to bring
- 23:24Speaker 1: all of the puréeing devices over and ziplocking everything. Well,
- 23:31Speaker 1: that was incorrect. She hasn't done any of that. On
- 23:33Speaker 1: the topic of food, we said that Michael Finch would
- 23:35Speaker 1: release a cookbook. He's yet to, but again, I think
- 23:37Speaker 1: that could happen in 2026. I think some book publishers
- 23:40Speaker 1: should reach out to him because I think it would
- 23:42Speaker 1: be very, very successful. Oh, I'd buy it. Now, another
- 23:46Speaker 1: one we got wrong was that Indy Clinton's husband would
- 23:48Speaker 1: become a full-time influencer. So we said he would leave
- 23:51Speaker 1: his full-time job to do content creation and join Indy
- 23:54Speaker 1: on her podcast. Amy actually disagreed with me on this one.
- 23:58Speaker 1: This was off the back of him having issues at work.
- 24:01Speaker 1: So we spoke to Indy on our podcast and she
- 24:04Speaker 1: was very open about the fact that some of Ben's
- 24:06Speaker 1: colleagues didn't really understand Indy. why Indy shared so much
- 24:09Speaker 1: of their life online. They seem to pay it out.
- 24:12Speaker 1: And it looked like I could have been correct because
- 24:14Speaker 1: in the new year, he launched his own Instagram account
- 24:17Speaker 1: and started getting invited to PR events. However, he still
- 24:20Speaker 1: isn't working full-time as a content creator. He also randomly
- 24:23Speaker 1: posts TikToks from time to time, which seem to perform
- 24:26Speaker 1: really well. They generally are of Indy, but no, he
- 24:29Speaker 1: is not a full-time content creator. You guys also incorrectly
- 24:32Speaker 1: guessed that Sharni Grimman would get engaged to her longtime boyfriend,
- 24:35Speaker 1: Jacob Tompkins. Yeah, I'm disappointed. I'd love to see a
- 24:39Speaker 1: proposal with Sharni. I mean, they've been together for years now.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I sound like a broken record, but maybe in 2026.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I want to put out a prediction. It's more of
- 24:47Speaker 1: a manifestation, but I would like to see us get
- 24:50Speaker 1: Sharni Grimman on an episode of Outspoken. I can't see
- 24:53Speaker 1: it happening. I think she's so shy. Well, because she
- 24:55Speaker 1: actually reached out to us when we released our deep
- 24:58Speaker 1: dive series on her a couple of years ago. And
- 25:01Speaker 1: she said that she really enjoyed it and it actually
- 25:04Speaker 1: made her want to post more because she was really
- 25:06Speaker 1: like reflecting on that time in her life and the
- 25:08Speaker 1: relationship that she had with her audience. So we said, well, Sharni,
- 25:11Speaker 1: would you come on an episode? And she said that
- 25:13Speaker 1: she would love to, but she just, it almost is
- 25:15Speaker 1: too shy to do it really sounded like. Yeah. Well,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I mean, I've met her years ago now, probably like
- 25:21Speaker 1: eight years ago, randomly at the airport. I know OG
- 25:24Speaker 1: listeners will remember this story, but I was there for
- 25:27Speaker 1: work and I spotted her and Chloe Zep and Chloe
- 25:29Speaker 1: Zep actually kindly took the photo. I wasn't sort of
- 25:32Speaker 1: as big on her at the time. Like I'm like,
- 25:34Speaker 1: oh damn, why did I not get Chloe and Sharni
- 25:36Speaker 1: in the photo? That would have been iconic. But she
- 25:38Speaker 1: came across very shy and softly spoken. I think anyone
- 25:41Speaker 1: who has grown up watching her content will know that
- 25:43Speaker 1: about her too. She's very confident in front of a camera,
- 25:46Speaker 1: but I think when you get her in a group setting,
- 25:47Speaker 1: she is very shy. Now, the last prediction that you
- 25:51Speaker 1: guys got incorrect was that Sophie Gwendolyn would get married again. Yeah,
- 25:56Speaker 1: that was wrong. I mean, I can see why we
- 25:58Speaker 1: predicted it. How many marriages was she up to? Was
- 26:00Speaker 1: it three or four? Well, we're still unsure if the
- 26:03Speaker 1: fourth was actually a verified one. She was wearing a
- 26:06Speaker 1: wedding ring. However, they've now split. I mean, we've since
- 26:10Speaker 1: been blocked from Sophie Guedelin. So, you know, if she
- 26:13Speaker 1: does anything outrageous, please screen record it and send it
- 26:16Speaker 1: to us to report on. In our next episode, we
- 26:18Speaker 1: are going to be making predictions for 2026. Maybe we
- 26:22Speaker 1: need to make a list of predictions of influencers who
- 26:24Speaker 1: are going to block us. Well, there's already a really
- 26:26Speaker 1: long list of them. I'm hoping it's not Tammy. I'm
- 26:28Speaker 1: surprised she hasn't blocked us, to be honest. I think
- 26:30Speaker 1: Tammy is smart enough to know that it's all good
- 26:33Speaker 1: PR for her. True. She loves to antagonize her audience. Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And she loves to be spoken about because it ultimately
- 26:41Speaker 1: means that people are still interested in her life. They're
- 26:43Speaker 1: still going to be paying her bills.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Well, that is where we're going to leave it today,
- 26:47Speaker 1: but we will be back in your ears on Friday
- 26:49Speaker 1: with our 2026 influencer predictions. I'm very excited about that.
- 26:54Speaker 1: We put up a question box last year asking for
- 26:56Speaker 1: people to send in their predictions and there were some
- 26:58Speaker 1: hilarious ones that we will be sharing on the show.
- 27:01Speaker 1: That is all we have time for though. Thank you
- 27:03Speaker 1: so much for joining us. If you have enjoyed today's show,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I would love to see where you are listening to
- 27:07Speaker 1: today's episode from. Are you away at the moment? Are
- 27:10Speaker 1: you on a walk? Are you back at work? Please
- 27:13Speaker 1: tag us in all of your stories. Yeah, we would
- 27:15Speaker 1: love that. Now, if you're like me and are desperate
- 27:18Speaker 1: for new podcast content, because all of the podcasts I
- 27:21Speaker 1: listen to, they've gone on break and they're just replaying
- 27:23Speaker 1: old episodes. And I'm like, I don't want to listen
- 27:25Speaker 1: to this. We have a back channel of almost 200
- 27:29Speaker 1: episodes on Outspoken Plus. It's $ 5. 99 to become a subscriber
- 27:33Speaker 1: for a month. You can also sign up on Apple
- 27:35Speaker 1: for a year. It's a little bit cheaper that way.
- 27:37Speaker 1: We have recently dropped an episode that we recorded this year.
- 27:41Speaker 1: giving a bit of a wrap on influencers Christmas days,
- 27:44Speaker 1: as well as some stories that have broken since the
- 27:47Speaker 1: festive break. Yeah, that was a lot of fun to
- 27:49Speaker 1: record because ever since we went on break, all of
- 27:51Speaker 1: these massive things have been happening in the influencer space.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And I was like, we can't save all of them
- 27:56Speaker 1: for the new year. We've got to have a debrief
- 27:58Speaker 1: at least about what went on over Christmas. So if
- 28:01Speaker 1: you don't want to listen all the details to subscriber
- 28:03Speaker 1: in the show notes, this podcast was recorded on the
- 28:06Speaker 1: traditional land of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
- 28:09Speaker 1: We pay respect to elders past and present.
