- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty and now Handle on the news. Ladies
- 0:16Speaker 1: and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And this is a Tuesday Morning talk about Tuesday. Bill
- 0:33Speaker 2: Handle Here June night, as we start the show boy,
- 0:38Speaker 2: A lot of people are missing today. Okay, let's first,
- 0:42Speaker 2: let's talk about the people who are here, both figuratively,
- 0:46Speaker 2: figuratively literally and sitting in their house, in their seats.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Amy is gone until next week. Heather Brooker is here,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Heather, good morning.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Okay, so that's one the other when Michelle is certainly here.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I am here, good morning, good.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Morning, filling in for Anne, who I think is back
- 1:07Speaker 2: next Monday. Is that correct? Okay? Neil Savedra is gone,
- 1:12Speaker 2: and filling in for Neil is nobody. How are you? Nobody?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Silent type Neil doing the best suppression of Helen Keller
- 1:22Speaker 2: I have seen in a very long time. Will Coleschreiber here,
- 1:25Speaker 2: Good morning, and kno is here? What's up? And that's
- 1:30Speaker 2: my lineup? What's up? I talked to Neil yesterday. Neil
- 1:34Speaker 2: is doing reasonably well. He underwent bariatric surgery and is
- 1:42Speaker 2: eating and drinking absolutely nothing, and so he's already lost.
- 1:46Speaker 2: He's down. When did the surgery take place? Last week?
- 1:49Speaker 3: Friday?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Friday? And today is Tuesday, and he's already down eight
- 1:53Speaker 2: nine pounds. It goes very, very very quickly when you
- 2:00Speaker 2: have a bariatric surgery, as I did some twenty something
- 2:04Speaker 2: years ago.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you lost like too much weight.
- 2:07Speaker 2: At one point on I went from I figure about
- 2:10Speaker 2: three ten because I stop weighing myself at three hundred.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I just wasn't gonna do it anymore. So I figure
- 2:15Speaker 2: about three ten and I dropped to one seventy three. Wow.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah that was a lot of weight.
- 2:22Speaker 3: But how long did that take from the from.
- 2:25Speaker 2: The bariatric surgery? Yeah, nine minutes. It goes very very quickly.
- 2:31Speaker 4: It was like I would say six months, six months,
- 2:34Speaker 4: six to eight months, six months.
- 2:36Speaker 2: You can lose one hundred pounds and six months.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Wow.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It is very It's it's not fun, but it is
- 2:42Speaker 2: very rapid. And the you just don't have enough of
- 2:46Speaker 2: an appetite. They literally knock out a big portion of
- 2:50Speaker 2: your stomach. In my case, I had something called the
- 2:53Speaker 2: ruin why, which is considered the gold standard, but it
- 2:56Speaker 2: is a forever standard. Neil had the sleeve that goes
- 3:02Speaker 2: onto a stomach and crunches.
- 3:04Speaker 3: It up, and that can be removed, right, yes.
- 3:07Speaker 2: You can. The sleep can be removed. The ruin why cannot.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And they took out a good portion of the intestine,
- 3:12Speaker 2: about eighteen inches of the intestine with a ruined why.
- 3:15Speaker 2: And when that was finished, my stomach was about the
- 3:18Speaker 2: size of your thumb. And it has since expanded, because
- 3:23Speaker 2: stomachs expand rather dramatically. I mean, stomachs can get very big,
- 3:26Speaker 2: just as will so wow, yeah, it's a while shots fired.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so yeah, we've just started. I haven't even
- 3:35Speaker 2: begun to stop yet. So I am. I weighed myself
- 3:39Speaker 2: this morning. I'm at one hundred and seventy three pounds.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'm at the lowest I have been without being sick,
- 3:46Speaker 2: without a surgery, which you'd lose weight after major surgery
- 3:50Speaker 2: no matter what you do, certainly heart surgery. And then
- 3:54Speaker 2: when I had the by trick, the gastric bypass. So
- 3:59Speaker 2: there I was myself now. Also keep in mind, is
- 4:02Speaker 2: kind of fun weighing myself because I do it in
- 4:04Speaker 2: the kitchen, because upstairs Lindsay's asleep. I do it in
- 4:08Speaker 2: the kitchen, and I take off my nineties, I take
- 4:13Speaker 2: off my pajamas, etc. So I'm stark naked uh in
- 4:16Speaker 2: the kitchen with the lights on. Now behind me when
- 4:20Speaker 2: I do it are my big glass doors that open
- 4:24Speaker 2: up to the uh to the backyard. Oh yeah, no,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I know they get the They get my creepy ass.
- 4:32Speaker 2: They really do. You know my I lost when I
- 4:35Speaker 2: lost a lot of weight, I lost it in my
- 4:37Speaker 2: ass department. Uh and uh it's it's a it's a
- 4:40Speaker 2: very fluttery ass. There's a lot of uh loose skin there.
- 4:44Speaker 2: And I've often said July fourth, it's it's a wind
- 4:46Speaker 2: for me because I paint my uh my fluttery parts
- 4:50Speaker 2: red white and blue, and a good wind comes it
- 4:53Speaker 2: comes up. Man, it's uh. I get a lot of
- 4:55Speaker 2: patriotic uh.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Notice bringing memories of when you had your surgery and
- 5:00Speaker 4: I had to come to your house to do the
- 5:02Speaker 4: show and you would come downstairs in your tank top
- 5:04Speaker 4: and your boxers.
- 5:06Speaker 2: For the Yeah. Yeah, Well after my after my after
- 5:10Speaker 2: my heart surgery, I should have taken a month off
- 5:15Speaker 2: because it was pretty serious. You started coming down a
- 5:18Speaker 2: week afterwards we started the show.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Did you get hazard pay for that?
- 5:24Speaker 4: But I did have access to his refrigerator, so I could,
- 5:28Speaker 4: you know, fix myself a little snack before he came down.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Ye. So anyway, Neil will be back next week as
- 5:34Speaker 2: will Amy, as.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Will Amy's gone for two weeks.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yes, Oh, can I always get confused?
- 5:41Speaker 3: You've done all these people, they're making they're leaving no one, You.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Got me and I don't know? All right? Are you
- 5:46Speaker 2: ready to do this?
- 5:47Speaker 4: Guys?
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Let's move on. It's time for Handle on the News
- 5:52Speaker 2: with Heather brook Or and me lead story one now
- 6:01Speaker 2: advances to second place and the runoff will be Nithia Rahman,
- 6:06Speaker 2: former city council member, or she still is a city
- 6:09Speaker 2: council member. Yeah, and it will be her and Karen Bass.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Spencer Spencer Pratt, a former reality TV guy from the Hills.
- 6:19Speaker 2: He's done. He was initially ahead the day of the election.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And we're getting the same, uh, the same screed as
- 6:29Speaker 2: we always have from Republicans, particularly the president. If some
- 6:34Speaker 2: if a Republican is ahead on election day, then votes
- 6:38Speaker 2: that come in afterwards are fraudulent. Uh, they're not. There
- 6:43Speaker 2: has been a rigged election. Notwithstanding California and other states
- 6:48Speaker 2: take mail in balloting and in California it's probably the
- 6:52Speaker 2: loosest in terms of time. In terms of security, it's
- 6:56Speaker 2: probably among the tightest. And in California you can do
- 6:59Speaker 2: a mail in ballot and if it's postmarked by the
- 7:02Speaker 2: day of the election, it can arrive up to seven
- 7:06Speaker 2: days later and will be counted. Also, California has an
- 7:09Speaker 2: automatic voter registration every citizen, I think in California, I
- 7:16Speaker 2: think everybody basically, Yeah, anybody who has registered to vote
- 7:20Speaker 2: gets an automatic ballot. And of course that's fraudulent too,
- 7:24Speaker 2: and it's other states do this, by the way, there's
- 7:27Speaker 2: some red states that do the same thing, not as
- 7:29Speaker 2: extensive as California. But here is what happens the day
- 7:34Speaker 2: of the voting. Republicans do better mail in ballots, Democrats
- 7:40Speaker 2: do better. And it's always the same screen. How does
- 7:45Speaker 2: for example, how does Pratt lose or how does Raman?
- 7:51Speaker 2: All of said get hundreds of thousands of votes after
- 7:53Speaker 2: election date, it's fraudulent. Well, that's the way it's set
- 7:58Speaker 2: up in California is not the only state. Now, I
- 8:01Speaker 2: will tell you that in every state or in every
- 8:07Speaker 2: campaign in which the Republican wins, after the ballot, after
- 8:12Speaker 2: the mail in ballot. There is no fraud that doesn't exist.
- 8:17Speaker 2: If a Republican wins mail in ballot or not, it
- 8:20Speaker 2: is a free democratic election. If a Democrat wins, it
- 8:25Speaker 2: is a rigged election. Democracy does not exist in this
- 8:30Speaker 2: country where Democrats win. That's where we've come to. Now.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Have we heard a lot yet about Ramen winning in
- 8:41Speaker 2: terms of the fraud? I haven't heard as much as
- 8:43Speaker 2: I thought there would.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Be, you mean, winning the war in.
- 8:48Speaker 2: The second place, as against Pratt, where Pratt was ahead
- 8:52Speaker 2: election day and now has lost because of the mail
- 8:55Speaker 2: in ballots. Have we been hearing a lot fraud? Fraud, fraud?
- 8:59Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there's a lot of chatter online of people
- 9:02Speaker 3: claiming that it's rigged and there's fraud. I mean, everything
- 9:05Speaker 3: you just said is what's happening. People are saying that
- 9:08Speaker 3: it's you know, we played a story talking about some celebrity,
- 9:11Speaker 3: Jamie Kennedy saying that they're finding votes in the back
- 9:14Speaker 3: alleys and in trash cans and all that.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You know, and all you have to do is file
- 9:19Speaker 2: lawsuit and bring it into court.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Just bring it into court. I think Bill is Saley
- 9:23Speaker 3: also said that they were going to be investigating see.
- 9:26Speaker 3: The issue is is that there's no proof and no
- 9:28Speaker 3: evidence has been brought forward because this is just how
- 9:31Speaker 3: California elections work.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and there won't be and there won't be. I
- 9:36Speaker 2: think in an interview with the President when he said
- 9:39Speaker 2: there's fraud and Christine Kristin Welker said, where's the evidence?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Bring it forward, and he said, I just know it exists.
- 9:49Speaker 2: When the fraud was argued that Trump had won the
- 9:53Speaker 2: twenty twenty twenty twenty election and Joe Biden it was fraudulent,
- 9:58Speaker 2: there were lawsuits filed, headed by Rudy Giuliani. Sixty three
- 10:02Speaker 2: lawsuits were filed arguing fraud County, state, federal lawsuit. Not
- 10:08Speaker 2: one shred of evidence was produced, not one and a
- 10:14Speaker 2: or all dismissed, including Trump appointees. Okay, so we're going
- 10:17Speaker 2: to talk a lot more about that. That really bothers me.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It says a lot about where we're going.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Unfortunately, moving on, all right, are you as army helicopter
- 10:26Speaker 3: crash near the straight up horn moves? President Trump, though
- 10:30Speaker 3: last night after the Knicks game, says that two crew
- 10:32Speaker 3: members on board weren't hurt and they're doing fine. I
- 10:35Speaker 3: don't know how that's possible.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Being alive is fine.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't know what caused the crash. There hasn't
- 10:42Speaker 3: been a lot of details released about this, but we
- 10:47Speaker 3: know that Trump is saying the pilots are fine, nobody
- 10:50Speaker 3: was injured, and they're supposed to release a report today.
- 10:53Speaker 3: All right, Moving on, President Trump also has expressed some
- 10:58Speaker 3: renewed optimism over negotiations with Iran. He says we have
- 11:03Speaker 3: a good chance of signing another deal or deal in
- 11:06Speaker 3: the next two or three days, but he didn't provide
- 11:08Speaker 3: any details or why there is this renewed optimism. Not anymore.
- 11:14Speaker 3: He's been predicting this over the past several months. The yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 3: we're gonna have a deal.
- 11:17Speaker 2: We're gonna have a deal right next Wednesday. If we
- 11:20Speaker 2: don't have a deal, we're gonna bomb Iran. It's we
- 11:22Speaker 2: won the war the first hour. We're they're desperate to
- 11:27Speaker 2: make a deal of Iranians. Nothing has come to fruition nothing.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So now it's we're gonna have a deal. They're anxious,
- 11:35Speaker 2: and we'll have a deal soon. I don't know what
- 11:38Speaker 2: that means, not anymore.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Israel's military has launched new attacks on tire in Lebanon,
- 11:47Speaker 3: this morning. They've issued also a rare evacuation order for
- 11:50Speaker 3: the historic southern Lebanese cities Christian Quarter. They say, in
- 11:56Speaker 3: light of Hasbella's violation the ceasefire agreement and it's targeting
- 12:00Speaker 3: of the Israeli home front, the IDF is compelled to
- 12:04Speaker 3: act forcefully against them.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah. The President is doing everything he possibly can to
- 12:10Speaker 2: bring this war to an end. And at this point
- 12:15Speaker 2: it certainly visa the Israel and Lebanon and it's just
- 12:20Speaker 2: not working. Is really just saying too bad and keeps
- 12:23Speaker 2: on attacking and ignoring the President, and it's not making
- 12:26Speaker 2: the President very happy at all. Tire, by the way,
- 12:31Speaker 2: there's I don't know if you know that, but the
- 12:32Speaker 2: biggest Goodyear plant is in Tire in the Mid East.
- 12:36Speaker 3: That's not true. That is not that's not true.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Okay, I just thought i'd go there. Thank you, You're welcome.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Lies this morning, Lies this morning, all right. US Food
- 12:49Speaker 3: and Drug Administration issued a recall notice for their brand
- 12:53Speaker 3: of baby wipes, and these wipes have the potential to
- 12:56Speaker 3: cause bacterial contamination that could result in some pretty series
- 13:00Speaker 3: or life threatening infections for newborns and young children. The
- 13:03Speaker 3: recall is for Target brand Up and Up fragrance free
- 13:08Speaker 3: and fresh cucumber scented baby wipes, So please check your wipes. Okay,
- 13:16Speaker 3: all right. La County measure Eer, which was previously going
- 13:23Speaker 3: into the no category, has now flipped and he is
- 13:25Speaker 3: slightly edging out in the yes category. This was introduced
- 13:30Speaker 3: by Supervisor Holly Mitchell and Hildas Lease. It's called the
- 13:34Speaker 3: Essential Services Restoration Act, and they're asking voters to enact
- 13:38Speaker 3: a half sent general sales tax for five years.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Two things. Number one, why not let's get we
- 13:46Speaker 2: go from the most taxed state county in the country
- 13:50Speaker 2: to the ridiculously most tax and for five years. You know,
- 13:54Speaker 2: the last time we've actually had a tax that was sunseted,
- 13:58Speaker 2: I can't remember. Five years, two years, ten years, two months,
- 14:03Speaker 2: three minutes, It doesn't matter. There'll be a bill, there'll
- 14:06Speaker 2: be a proposition to continue the tax on forever ten
- 14:11Speaker 2: point two five now percent La County, other cities, Orange County.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I think are there some places that are now eleven
- 14:19Speaker 2: percent sero tax?
- 14:21Speaker 4: I want to say Palmdale, like up in that area,
- 14:23Speaker 4: that Lancaster Palmdale area, I think is.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, how special is that? Huh? All right?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Big waves coming into Malibu. These are potentially deadly rip currents,
- 14:32Speaker 3: and authorities are warning people to be careful if you're
- 14:36Speaker 3: heading out into the waters there, and actually they're saying
- 14:38Speaker 3: just don't don't go out to the waters. Waves as
- 14:41Speaker 3: large as seven feet are forecast to hit the beaches
- 14:44Speaker 3: across the area.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, rip tides are no fun. They tend to kill
- 14:47Speaker 2: people a lot.
- 14:49Speaker 3: And a federal judge has struck down a one hundred
- 14:52Speaker 3: thousand dollars fee. Remember that one hundred thousand dollars fee
- 14:55Speaker 3: that was going to be imposed on new H one
- 14:57Speaker 3: B visas for highly skilled four workers. Will judge says
- 15:02Speaker 3: that it constituted an unlawful tax that Congress never authorized.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, here's the argument, and it's going to go up.
- 15:09Speaker 2: This is a federal judge, and it's going to do
- 15:10Speaker 2: the appeals and will certainly go to the Supreme Court
- 15:14Speaker 2: whether they're going to hear it or not. And that
- 15:16Speaker 2: is the president. According to the administration, the president has
- 15:20Speaker 2: the ability under law he can basically can make it
- 15:25Speaker 2: a million dollar or eliminated completely the HN one visa visa,
- 15:31Speaker 2: the visa itself, or certainly the money if it is
- 15:34Speaker 2: if he deems it detrimental to the interests of the
- 15:37Speaker 2: United States, and with the judge said, no, no, what
- 15:40Speaker 2: you're doing is just adding a tax, and we'll see
- 15:44Speaker 2: what happens. And tax is only Congress. Same thing with tariffs.
- 15:48Speaker 2: By the way, the same thing happened with the court
- 15:51Speaker 2: and tariffs. You know, you don't. The Congress has to
- 15:54Speaker 2: do it, not you, And he's always argued that he
- 15:58Speaker 2: will make that decision.
- 15:59Speaker 3: I'm just surprised that it's taken this long, though, for
- 16:02Speaker 3: everything takes forever. Well, that's true. Our legal system is
- 16:04Speaker 3: very slow. Also, Trump administration said that they're seeking district
- 16:10Speaker 3: citizenship of seventeen immigrants. They are escalating their push to
- 16:15Speaker 3: find and expel people who they say improperly obtained US citizenship.
- 16:20Speaker 3: The Justice Department says they're filing these denaturalization cases and
- 16:24Speaker 3: district courts across the country, targeting people accused of concealing
- 16:28Speaker 3: previous crimes or committing fraud during the naturalization process.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, here's the problem. And by the way, I agree
- 16:35Speaker 2: with the administration on this one. I mean, you do
- 16:37Speaker 2: want to de certify.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Or get rid of denaturalized.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Thank you denaturalize people who are this kind of criminal
- 16:51Speaker 2: who have engaged this kind of criminal activity. Here's the problem, though,
- 16:54Speaker 2: the only basis of doing so is to commit fraud
- 16:59Speaker 2: in the application to become a naturalized citizen. Those are
- 17:03Speaker 2: the basis for doing it, not anything else. And so
- 17:08Speaker 2: there's still US citizens. And if they've attempted sexual battery
- 17:11Speaker 2: on Tiler, you go to jail, but you're still a
- 17:12Speaker 2: US citizen. Once you're a naturalized citizen, other than committing
- 17:15Speaker 2: fraud on the application, you're basically a citizen. Even though
- 17:20Speaker 2: I would like the administration's position to be involved. Here's
- 17:25Speaker 2: a quick story. I'm going to take a minute to
- 17:27Speaker 2: share this with you. My father was instrumental in getting
- 17:31Speaker 2: an avowed Nazi out of this country. A man who
- 17:36Speaker 2: handled in Yugoslavia. He was interior or minister of justice
- 17:40Speaker 2: in Yugoslavia during World War Two, and it was a
- 17:43Speaker 2: Nazi puppet regime. And he came to the United States
- 17:47Speaker 2: and he came under an assumed name, and the State
- 17:52Speaker 2: Department were certain members the State Department wanted to ship
- 17:56Speaker 2: him out of the country because there was a warrant
- 17:58Speaker 2: for his a rest. They were going to try him
- 18:01Speaker 2: as a criminal over what was Yugoslavia. And the only
- 18:06Speaker 2: way they got they finally got him, it was online
- 18:09Speaker 2: in the immigrant line, not the fact that he was
- 18:11Speaker 2: a Nazi and there was a warrant he was a citizen.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And what ended up happening is they finally got him,
- 18:18Speaker 2: and my dad actually testified in that trial, and he
- 18:21Speaker 2: got man. He got grief, He had death threats because
- 18:25Speaker 2: the Croatian community was very, very upset that this guy
- 18:30Speaker 2: was being shipped out. And then I don't know if
- 18:33Speaker 2: you ever heard Irv Rubin, Michelle, you know who Irv
- 18:36Speaker 2: Reubin was. Irv was a guy who headed the Jewish
- 18:41Speaker 2: Defense League and he would actually protect Jews, a bunch
- 18:47Speaker 2: of guys like the Guardian Angels in New York, except
- 18:49Speaker 2: there were a bunch of Jews in Los Angeles. He,
- 18:52Speaker 2: by the way, ended up going to prison. He was convicted,
- 18:54Speaker 2: and then he took a swan dive off of floor
- 18:58Speaker 2: the third floor of the Federal building. And of course
- 19:01Speaker 2: there was a conspiracy they threw him off and just
- 19:03Speaker 2: a bunch of crap. But anyway, my dad as a witness,
- 19:07Speaker 2: no one would help in the Jewish community. Irv is
- 19:10Speaker 2: the only one. Irv in his group were the only
- 19:13Speaker 2: ones that protected my dad, and when he testified, they
- 19:16Speaker 2: would pick him up, accompany him into court, and then
- 19:21Speaker 2: accompany him out, and he had to go through this
- 19:24Speaker 2: gauntlet of pro or Tugovich Croatian Catholics or Tukovich was Catholic,
- 19:31Speaker 2: and so with a lot of religious aspects to this,
- 19:34Speaker 2: and just giving an idea of how crazy IRV was.
- 19:38Speaker 2: There was a little old lady that came up to
- 19:40Speaker 2: my father as he was going into the courthouse and
- 19:44Speaker 2: there were demonstrations, and this little old lady, it must
- 19:46Speaker 2: have been ninety. You know, she has a cane and
- 19:49Speaker 2: she's been over and she shuffles and she goes, mister Handel,
- 19:53Speaker 2: you know, you have to let bygones be bygones. At
- 19:57Speaker 2: some point you have to forgive IRV bends down, spits
- 20:02Speaker 2: in her face and goes get out of the way,
- 20:04Speaker 2: you Croatian horror. Now that is impressive stuff. Yeah, I know.
- 20:11Speaker 2: IRV was quite a character. Matter of fact, he used
- 20:15Speaker 2: to whenever I'd say anything, remember it he was at
- 20:16Speaker 2: be we'd used to be in Koreatown, and if I
- 20:19Speaker 2: didn't put him on on some topic, he would be
- 20:22Speaker 2: demonstrating five o'clock in the morning with a bullhorn in
- 20:25Speaker 2: our parking lot, and I would be sending him bagels
- 20:28Speaker 2: and coffee. It was while he was screaming against KFI. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 2: it was just tremendous, tremendous episodes. Those are the old days, ah,
- 20:38Speaker 2: the good old days. Yeah, Okay, imagine that now.
- 20:41Speaker 3: If you didn't put somebody on and they would come
- 20:43Speaker 3: down here, you wouldn't know. We would all just be like,
- 20:46Speaker 3: there's somebody here.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I know you could look out the window and see them.
- 20:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Americans are getting more and more pessimistic about their personal finances.
- 20:56Speaker 3: About forty eight percent of Americans said their financial situation
- 20:59Speaker 3: was worse in men of this year than a year ago,
- 21:02Speaker 3: and the highest share since January of twenty twenty three,
- 21:06Speaker 3: and the Federal Reserve Bank is saying that so consumers
- 21:09Speaker 3: are also less optimistic about the future as well.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but look at what's happening right Our consumer index
- 21:17Speaker 2: are the index which measures our confidence way way down.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Our spending is up, employments in good shape, the stock
- 21:25Speaker 2: market is at record highs. None of it makes sense.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Matter of fact, it's up again right now. It's up
- 21:33Speaker 2: what three hundred and oh, four hundred and sixty six points. Come,
- 21:38Speaker 2: what do you do with all that? You can't make
- 21:40Speaker 2: sense of it? So well, it doesn't translate yet between
- 21:44Speaker 2: consumer confidence and the economy going downhill, which it should.
- 21:48Speaker 3: So people are basically up saying they're not happy with
- 21:52Speaker 3: their personal finances, but all of the indicators and numbers
- 21:55Speaker 3: say that things are going well. Yeah, yeah, So it
- 21:58Speaker 3: doesn't make sense. You're right. Several private label products saw
- 22:03Speaker 3: price drops. Oh bill, handled, this one's for you. Some
- 22:07Speaker 3: of them dropped as much as ten dollars at Costco.
- 22:10Speaker 3: The Costco's lowering prices on several of their popular Kirkland
- 22:14Speaker 3: and Signature are Kirkland Signature items, including ones that shoppers
- 22:19Speaker 3: had previously said as getting more expensive. So have you
- 22:23Speaker 3: checked out this list to see if? I got to
- 22:26Speaker 3: tell you there's not much to this. I no understand it.
- 22:31Speaker 2: The Crispy Wings, I don't buy him.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Well, I don't understand why the prices are dropped anyway,
- 22:36Speaker 4: because Costco's markup overall is maybe eleven percent, and on
- 22:41Speaker 4: food it's even less than that, between five and ten percent.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Well. Well, according to Fox Business, which released this story,
- 22:49Speaker 2: it's a bunch of executives saying that in light of
- 22:52Speaker 2: consumers fears. Although sales at Costco I'm shirt are still
- 22:56Speaker 2: through the roof, they are dropping it because of what
- 23:01Speaker 2: the perception is out there. The bottom line is milk, chocolate, almonds. Hey,
- 23:04Speaker 2: I don't care. I don't use those golf balls. No,
- 23:09Speaker 2: not enough goalsap male golfs out there to even make
- 23:12Speaker 2: a difference. Kinsai sheets, Chrispy wings. Yeah, I'm not only so.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Yeah, the markup is so low anyway at Costco. The
- 23:21Speaker 4: regular grocery markup is between fifteen and thirty percent. At
- 23:24Speaker 4: Costco is like maybe twelve percent.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't care. So people are saving a couple bucks.
- 23:30Speaker 3: It sounds like maybe just a few dollars there, all right,
- 23:33Speaker 3: all right, So, coffee lovers, a new study has been
- 23:39Speaker 3: published for you. People who drink more one or more
- 23:42Speaker 3: cups of coffee each day lost an average of thirty
- 23:45Speaker 3: six minutes of sleep compared to those who didn't. This
- 23:50Speaker 3: is from the New Zealand Journal of Medicine and found Sense. Yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 3: people who were assigned to drink coffee were also more active,
- 23:56Speaker 3: taking an average of one thousand more steps. Well, yeah, see.
- 24:00Speaker 2: There's that right, So you can do the same study
- 24:03Speaker 2: with for methampheta bean. Sure, you don't sleep as much
- 24:06Speaker 2: and you walk faster.
- 24:08Speaker 4: How many cufs toffee do you drink a day handle?
- 24:11Speaker 2: I drink either one or two just in the morning.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Do you stop so you stop at a certain time?
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, not because I mean not because you know, I
- 24:19Speaker 2: stop at a certain time. It's just that I'm done
- 24:21Speaker 2: with coffee in the morning.
- 24:22Speaker 3: So it's just a morning thing for you.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah, for me, it's a morning thing. How about you?
- 24:26Speaker 2: You drink coffee in the morning.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I don't drink coffee at all.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, you don't, Heather, Are you a coffee drinker?
- 24:31Speaker 3: I love coffee, and I will stop. My cutoff is
- 24:33Speaker 3: probably for the morning edition of coffee, around ten thirty
- 24:37Speaker 3: or eleven, But then I will almost always have a
- 24:39Speaker 3: nice coffee in the afternoon.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Okay, kono, who can't afford coffee? You don't drink coffee,
- 24:45Speaker 2: do you? You're cheering company.
- 24:49Speaker 3: He's like a one sip.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Okay, that's the initial taste. But I would consider myself
- 24:55Speaker 2: a coffee It's that first sip of that first cup,
- 24:59Speaker 2: and it will and your nostrils all of it. Are
- 25:02Speaker 2: you a coffee drinker. And it's not like as good
- 25:03Speaker 2: as cocaine, but it still works. Will Are you a
- 25:06Speaker 2: coffee drinker? Have one cup a day? Yeah? I make
- 25:08Speaker 2: it at home and I bring it here and smell.
- 25:10Speaker 2: The best part is when it bruised. It turns itself
- 25:13Speaker 2: on in the morning and at that smell when I'm
- 25:15Speaker 2: you know, in the shower. Oh all right, I think
- 25:19Speaker 2: we have time for one more story.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Alright. Uh, the world's biggest sporting event is coming to LA,
- 25:26Speaker 3: but the real impact will not be felt on the pitch,
- 25:29Speaker 3: that's right. According to a new analysis from bookies dot com,
- 25:33Speaker 3: the twenty twenty six FIFA World Cup is projected to
- 25:35Speaker 3: generate in eye popping almost six hundred million dollars in
- 25:39Speaker 3: economic impact for LA. And that's interesting because I was
- 25:43Speaker 3: asking people this morning, are you going to be watching
- 25:45Speaker 3: the World Cup? And so many people said no.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah, And I don't know how many billion people actually
- 25:51Speaker 2: watch the World Cup. I mean it's insanity. It's half
- 25:55Speaker 2: of the round population. Yeah, it's half of the world population.
- 25:58Speaker 3: So uh, a big event, big event for sure.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to watch it.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Are you going to watch it?
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah? Certainly parts of it.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Are you rooting for a certain team, or you just
- 26:07Speaker 3: want to watch for the social impact of it.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I really don't care. First of all,
- 26:12Speaker 2: I would root for the United States and the United
- 26:14Speaker 2: States close. I used to root for Brazil only because
- 26:20Speaker 2: I'm Brazilian and that was a world class team, I mean,
- 26:23Speaker 2: one of the best in the world. There since they're
- 26:25Speaker 2: still up there, but not like Argentina, not like Germany,
- 26:29Speaker 2: and so we'll we'll see what happens. I'm I'm going
- 26:32Speaker 2: to watch.
- 26:33Speaker 4: The average audience for worldwide for each game is about
- 26:37Speaker 4: one hundred and seventy five million.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Wow, worldwide game worldwide.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, over the course of the Cup because there
- 26:45Speaker 2: are a bunch of games that are played.
- 26:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and then a final game could could see like
- 26:48Speaker 4: one billion people watch.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty it's pretty crazy. Okay, guys, we are
- 26:54Speaker 2: done with the news. Coming back, I'm going to give
- 26:57Speaker 2: you an equation, a mathematical equation that you're going to
- 27:01Speaker 2: have a hard time refuting. I'll be back with that
- 27:05Speaker 2: KF I am six point forty. If you've been listening
- 27:08Speaker 2: to the Bill Handle Show, catch my show Monday through
