- 0:00Mark, Matt, are you going to let me go inside your home away from
- 0:04home? Absolutely, man.
- 0:05Let's go. I'm going first.
- 0:07Yeah. Oh, I'm scared.
- 0:09Oh. Oh, my Lord, would you look at
- 0:11this? It's better than anybody's
- 0:14house. Oh, my gosh, Mark, I can't get
- 0:20over this. It's like a show house.
- 0:23You guys actually live in here. It's so beautiful.
- 0:26Oh yeah? Well, for the longest time my
- 0:28coaches were nicer than our homes, but.
- 0:31It's nicer in my house, explains So how many slide outs we got
- 0:37now? This is 4 slide outs, One of the
- 0:40major benefits of Newell coaches.
- 0:43They build their own chassis from the round up and so they're
- 0:47able to do 4 slide coaches with flat floors, all flat floors, no
- 0:53raised, you know where the slide outs are.
- 0:56And of course they put the big engine in the coach as well.
- 1:00They're able to have really tall ceilings, much taller ceilings
- 1:04than a bus conversion. So there's a lot of pluses.
- 1:07The slides are big, are deeper. These are 230 inch slides up
- 1:12here instead of a 30 and a 24. And when it's closed up, you can
- 1:16still walk down through the middle of it.
- 1:18We stop and have make lunch on the road and don't put a ride
- 1:22out. Have lunch and.
- 1:23You know, every measurement. Oh, yeah.
- 1:25You're telling me. OK, one thing I really like that
- 1:28just caught my eye. Yeah.
- 1:30This is almost sunk in the wall a little bit.
- 1:32It's it's that is an incredible call.
- 1:34What is this? Hot water, Coffee.
- 1:36What is that? That's that's coffee.
- 1:37It's a Brew Express and for a long time after COVID you
- 1:42couldn't get them. Like this coach delivered
- 1:44without one because they couldn't get one and then
- 1:47finally by like 2 years later they finally got them and we
- 1:51were able to put them. I've never seen anything like
- 1:53that. It's half in the wall.
- 1:54Yeah, it's and it's with the water's piped to it, so you
- 1:57don't have to add water, it just.
- 1:59You got to be kidding. Me and it's got filters, so it's
- 2:03filtered water that goes to the coffee maker and the ice maker.
- 2:06So yeah. So it's just and Arlene and
- 2:11Amber Kernan is the interior designer there at Newell and she
- 2:18is absolutely incredible. She does some killer, you know,
- 2:22show coaches and stuff, but you work with her on all the
- 2:27finishes. I mean, you pick everything out
- 2:29from the countertops to the laminate to the leather to what
- 2:33color the studs you want or nail heads, you know, everything.
- 2:38I don't have the the rug out, but there's a rug here that
- 2:41really makes it look homey. But we're fixing to get on the
- 2:44road here shortly. So that's already rolled up, but
- 2:47yeah, it's so it's overwhelming when you go to spec one of these
- 2:50coaches out because you know, this is a different OHH.
- 2:54That's good. Feel, yeah, this is a different
- 2:56material than this material than that, you know.
- 2:59It's that Gator feel. Yeah, this different, you know,
- 3:03like you know, it's just everything, every single
- 3:07material you you pick out, it's all custom.
- 3:11We passed it, but this looks like a race car up here.
- 3:14Oh yeah, this is this is killer. The cockpit is actually.
- 3:18Killer aluminum pedals. Yeah, billet pellet pedals.
- 3:22And this is a this iPad, I ran a a map on it.
- 3:26But you can also control everything on the coach with
- 3:29this iPad. Like you bring that up and you
- 3:32control everything. And of course here you can run
- 3:35your cameras, say you want your 36360 degree cameras or whatever
- 3:41going down the road or if you're stopping for fuel that's outside
- 3:45the fuel door. So you pull up till the fuel
- 3:47pumps, right? There you can see.
- 3:49Yeah, they say. I mean they got and then.
- 3:51This is another map over here. Is this close to your old
- 3:55airplane? I mean, you got some avionics
- 3:58over here. It's killer.
- 3:59And then of course, you've got all your instruments here on
- 4:02that that panel. So yeah, this is a Control
- 4:06Center. You can sit right here, drive
- 4:08this thing, control everything on the coach, run your maps and
- 4:12everything and just sit here and and roll down the road.
- 4:16Matt, as you and your mom, you're a team.
- 4:22There's three of you that go down the road.
- 4:24You know, you said your dad pretty much does it all because
- 4:27he likes it that way. Is there anything that is your
- 4:29job, anything you just let him? Roll No.
- 4:33I mean, he likes to drive and he likes to clean it himself.
- 4:35It's got to be your way with that.
- 4:37Too. And you know, well, listen,
- 4:41listen, I don't touch his book. I will not touch one his books.
- 4:47OK, I get it. I understand.
- 4:49You know, they he might want to show me one.
- 4:51I'm like, I ain't touching that, you know, no, you know, because
- 4:55and so I get it. We are particular about our
- 4:57stuff and even even the trip planning.
- 5:00I do the trip planning as well. Arlene could do a really great
- 5:04job, but I know a lot more about.
- 5:06You're the man. What?
- 5:07I can get into and get out of sea.
- 5:09I've scratched the fool out of this, which is, you know, and
- 5:12being in all kind of situations where I had to unhook and you
- 5:15know, I mean, you learn as you do it.
- 5:18I've got multiple apps. I do multiple research.
- 5:21I put it up on Google Maps and swell it out.
- 5:23Wow, you know, and look at the turns and the trees and all this
- 5:27stuff. I mean, it takes the the trip
- 5:29planning takes more than the aircraft.
- 5:32Trip planning. Yeah, it's, you know, you got to
- 5:35plan it out, plan it all out. So I just do all that, you know,
- 5:39because I'm the one driving and I've got the most experience at
- 5:43finding where we want to pull into I.
- 5:45Think it's really interesting. Matt, you are, I don't know the
- 5:48exact name, but you are a book collector and you collect some
- 5:53what I think is really different books.
- 5:56I assume you'll read them going down the road.
- 5:58Tell me about these books. Well, I've, you know, been into
- 6:01collecting books for a while now and I like a lot of like rare
- 6:05and antique books. So I have, I've got quite a a
- 6:08bit from like the 19th century and everything.
- 6:10And I'm always been into history, but I read a lot of
- 6:14fiction and stuff too, so. You got any that are worth
- 6:17thousands of dollars? I've got quite a bit, yeah.
- 6:21I've got a really rare Edgar Allan Poe set from 1884.
- 6:27It says complete works and that's probably over 10 grand
- 6:33probably value. Wise racers have become diverse.
- 6:36And listen, just think about this, Kenny, when you look at
- 6:39that book and you open, just think 150 years ago where that
- 6:44book was, do you? Wear gloves.
- 6:46No, I actually had that recently rebound in leather.
- 6:50So the pages themselves are, you know, that old, but the binding
- 6:54is new, but that that helps preserve it over time.
- 6:59But yeah, there's I can't remember the exact limitation,
- 7:02but it's 350. So copies I.
- 7:05Like it when you guys go to and I, I don't think I'm saying it
- 7:08right. Is it Kenny Buck, Buckport,
- 7:11Maine? Ken Buckport, Yeah.
- 7:12I love it when you go up there really old.
- 7:14Yeah. I mean, it's where the some of
- 7:16the, I guess, first settlers come in on the East Coast there.
- 7:18From Europe, Yeah, from in New England, Everything well, and
- 7:21you know our buddy Bentley. Warren, Yeah.
- 7:24We stay at his place and go to his biker bar.
- 7:27Oh, I love it. Yeah.
- 7:28Bentley Saloon. There you go.
- 7:30Oh, there it. Is Bentley Warren the Ledger?
- 7:32We're going to have him on Kenny conversation.
- 7:33OK. Oh.
- 7:34You got to. Do we rest?
- 7:37Do we get into your, your, your, your bedroom?
- 7:40Mark. Mark.
- 7:41Chicken ass bedroom. OK, Mark, I don't.
- 7:43Have I don't have the filthy pillows out because I don't go
- 7:47to all that trouble unless they're trying to show off,
- 7:50which I probably should have did today.
- 7:51But we're just set up for for traveling.
- 7:54We're going to get on the road later.
- 7:56This is better than a five star hotel.
- 7:59This is like something you'd see downtown Dallas, TX.
- 8:04Absolutely. What do they call those marks?
- 8:06Skonks Skonts. The.
- 8:07Lights. Skonts Lights.
- 8:09Look at this and you know something that we talked about
- 8:15that I can relate to. I I just had a normal motorhome,
- 8:18but when you close everything up, OK, so in your NASCAR
- 8:23career, you close everything up at all these different race
- 8:27tracks. There were times that I would
- 8:29wake up and forget where. I'm at.
- 8:31I did this morning. This morning.
- 8:33This morning I woke up and I was like, why is not my clock?
- 8:37I have a clock that shines on the ceiling at home.
- 8:39And I was like, why is it dark? Black and white?
- 8:42And so I had to think, oh, shoot, I'm in the motorhome.
- 8:45I hadn't been in it in two months, you know.
- 8:47So you you can be in this bus in New England, you can be in it in
- 8:53Texas, and you feel like you're in the same spot.
- 8:56Yeah, we've, we've actually Arlene and I've pulled into a
- 9:00Flying J's truck stop and parked.
- 9:04And when those shades go down, you're at home, turn on the TV,
- 9:10lay up on your, you know, in your pajamas and watch TV and
- 9:14you got your own back. Everything is here, you know,
- 9:16every, all your clothes are put away in the drawers and it's,
- 9:20it's just like you're going to the bathroom, you know, at home,
- 9:24all your stuff's just. Set up.
- 9:26I love it. OK, guys, listen, check.
- 9:28Out OH. My gosh, this is better than MTV
- 9:32Cribs. Go on in there, Charlie.
- 9:35Look. Oh my Lord.
- 9:37Yeah, so. That's incredible.
- 9:40Nice vanity here. But I mean the lit up
- 9:44countertops, how do they do that Mark?
- 9:47They backlight them somehow, but this is, I think this is some
- 9:50sort of quartz. There's only a certain kind of
- 9:54material. Goes through.
- 9:55That that will let the light come through.
- 9:57Yeah, that's incredible day. It's almost dayglo, looking
- 10:02absolutely beautiful and. And are you like me?
- 10:05Every time you get out of the shower, do you take a squeegee
- 10:08and get the water off the? Glass.
- 10:09Oh yeah, of course. Oh, yeah, you got to do that.
- 10:13Well, I think we've invaded their privacy way too much,
- 10:17Mark. Let's close it out.
- 10:20I hope you all like what what do we call this segment?
- 10:25Mark Martin's bust. But will he let us go all the
- 10:27way into the bathroom? Thank you.
- 10:29Thank you guys for letting let me see your home away from home.
- 10:32Well, thank you for having. Us.
- 10:33Yeah, we've enjoyed it. All right, till the next time
- 10:36we'll see y'all later.
