- 0:29Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Table Talk here at the Philadelphia
- 0:31Speaker 1: Sports Table podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports
- 0:34Speaker 1: podcast show in the world, twelve and a half years strong.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You've got a great discussion coming to you here on
- 0:38Speaker 1: Table Talk. We got one of our good friends to
- 0:41Speaker 1: get into this Philadelphia seventy six ers early season. What
- 0:44Speaker 1: we have been seeing from this team, which has been
- 0:46Speaker 1: pretty spectacular so far in my opinion, and we're gonna
- 0:49Speaker 1: get his opinion as well. We've got from Fox Sports Phillies,
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Gambler and he does some great things over at
- 0:54Speaker 1: DraftKings as well.
- 0:55Speaker 2: We got our friend Sean Bernard. Buddy, how you doing man, Yeah,
- 0:58Speaker 2: doing well, daff Always appreciative of you having me on.
- 1:01Speaker 3: And it feels a little bit.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Better to be in good spirits about this Sixers team.
- 1:05Speaker 4: We've kind of pushed through some tough times last year,
- 1:07Speaker 4: so I'm happy to be spreading the positive vibes.
- 1:09Speaker 1: All over absolutely, And I gotta tell you too, like
- 1:12Speaker 1: the vibes and the offseason not all that great. I mean,
- 1:15Speaker 1: I had you on the show. We were trying to
- 1:16Speaker 1: keep things optimistic. You know what we were gonna be
- 1:18Speaker 1: seeing early this season. What VJ edgecumb was gonna be
- 1:21Speaker 1: doing tyres maxiy was he still gonna be able to
- 1:23Speaker 1: develop what happens with Joe Ellenbian. We're certainly gonna be
- 1:26Speaker 1: getting into that right now on this particular discussion.
- 1:28Speaker 2: But man like it.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's it's amazing where the vibes are, and that's how
- 1:33Speaker 1: we're gonna actually end our conversation.
- 1:35Speaker 2: So let's just I'll stop.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I'll stop with my nonsense here, because this team right
- 1:39Speaker 1: out of the gate, just I believe showed a ton
- 1:43Speaker 1: of resiliency sean their first two games, they're down by
- 1:47Speaker 1: double digits in the fourth quarter, they come back to
- 1:50Speaker 1: win both games. So I'm wondering, just to start us
- 1:53Speaker 1: off here, should we be really looking at this Sixers
- 1:56Speaker 1: team as one that could be one of the most
- 1:59Speaker 1: resilient NBA teams right out of the gate here?
- 2:01Speaker 2: What are your thoughts?
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's certainly showing the early signs of that, as
- 2:05Speaker 4: you mentioned, coming back from double digit a double digit
- 2:08Speaker 4: deficit in both games to pick up victories here. And
- 2:10Speaker 4: I think it was important for this team to come
- 2:12Speaker 4: out of the gates hot this year for a lot
- 2:14Speaker 4: of reasons. Obviously wins and losses matter to get the
- 2:16Speaker 4: fan base bought back in and just inside that locker
- 2:19Speaker 4: room for this team having a feeling of we can
- 2:21Speaker 4: produce wins, we can run with the best teams in
- 2:24Speaker 4: the NBA if everything clicks right, and that's what's being
- 2:26Speaker 4: put on display right now.
- 2:27Speaker 2: The number one thing that has.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Stood out has been the resiliency, the effort level, the
- 2:32Speaker 4: level of competitiveness, and then, to be honest, that's been
- 2:34Speaker 4: something that has been missing on some past iterations of
- 2:37Speaker 4: the Sixers team. I think about James Harden, Joel Abeed
- 2:40Speaker 4: sort of lumbering around Game seven as Jason Tatmams dropping
- 2:43Speaker 4: fifty one in the World Fargo Center there to send
- 2:45Speaker 4: him home in Game seven.
- 2:46Speaker 3: That's not the feeling I get about the Sixer team.
- 2:48Speaker 4: It feels like they care, feels like they compete, and
- 2:50Speaker 4: they're not gonna wave that way flag until the clock
- 2:52Speaker 4: heads zero.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Absolutely great vibes right from the start.
- 2:55Speaker 1: We're gonna get into those vibes a little bit a
- 2:57Speaker 1: little bit later, but we certainly have to talk about
- 3:00Speaker 1: the one player and the one talent on this team
- 3:03Speaker 1: that is so very exciting, and that is VJ. Edgecomb
- 3:06Speaker 1: His presence on the court. My goodness, he has been electric.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Sean and my co host Eric this past week on
- 3:14Speaker 1: the show, he was kind. He was kind of comparing VJ.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Edgecumb to d Wade actually, but even better in terms
- 3:20Speaker 1: of his offensive presence and his aggressiveness. So I'm wondering,
- 3:23Speaker 1: let's start talking about VJ.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Edgecumb here.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Get your thoughts on you know, this very early start
- 3:29Speaker 1: to his career in the NBA and what we've seen
- 3:31Speaker 1: from him.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's incredible, man, that you can't ask for a
- 3:34Speaker 4: much better start than what he's put on display. The
- 3:36Speaker 4: number one thing that stood out with me with him
- 3:38Speaker 4: is he's just fearless that he does not share at
- 3:40Speaker 4: the moment, and whether that means rising up and trying
- 3:42Speaker 4: to dunk on two guys or whether that means taking
- 3:44Speaker 4: a three point at a big moment in a game.
- 3:46Speaker 2: There, he's just ready for it.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Like mentally he's there at twenty years old, which does
- 3:50Speaker 4: not happen. It's also really uncommon for a player of
- 3:53Speaker 4: his skill set, which is essentially a high level athlete
- 3:56Speaker 4: guy that is, you know, it's going to be that
- 3:58Speaker 4: kind of his defining immediately upon walking into the NBA NBA.
- 4:02Speaker 4: He's in probably the top ten percent stile of athletes
- 4:04Speaker 4: in this league, which is the best of the best.
- 4:06Speaker 4: But typically with those kind of guys, you don't really
- 4:08Speaker 4: get the basketball field that he's already showing, just making
- 4:11Speaker 4: connective passes, getting rebounds, And I love how active he is.
- 4:14Speaker 4: It feels like he's always itching to what more can
- 4:17Speaker 4: I do? Can I help out and box out here?
- 4:18Speaker 4: Can I make a week's side of rotation here?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Like?
- 4:20Speaker 4: What can I do at all moments to help impact
- 4:22Speaker 4: this team? And I really do believe that the ceiling
- 4:25Speaker 4: is even higher than I initially believed with him.
- 4:27Speaker 3: It's really exciting what he means to this sixth game.
- 4:29Speaker 4: And I think we're gonna be talking about this being
- 4:31Speaker 4: the best backcourt in the entire NBA and not too
- 4:34Speaker 4: far down the line.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I mean, I can't if that narrative starts,
- 4:38Speaker 1: Holy cow, it's gonna be hard to quell the vibes.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Really, it's gonna be really hard.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But look, as much as we have loved seeing him
- 4:45Speaker 1: thus far, and right now as we're recording this, they
- 4:48Speaker 1: are playing the magic and we're kind of right in
- 4:50Speaker 1: the middle of the game here halftime is like almost
- 4:53Speaker 1: upon us here. But I guess to follow up on
- 4:55Speaker 1: vj Edge come here, Sean.
- 4:57Speaker 2: He's a rookie.
- 4:58Speaker 1: He's not perfect by any stretch. You know, we are
- 5:01Speaker 1: going to see some mistakes happening here and there. Where
- 5:04Speaker 1: does VJA so far from what you have seen? Where
- 5:07Speaker 1: does he need to work on his game or where
- 5:09Speaker 1: would you like to see him work on his game more?
- 5:10Speaker 1: As he's progressing here?
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean to be honest, he's been exceeding my
- 5:15Speaker 4: expectations in just about every single category. I can kind
- 5:18Speaker 4: of throw it in to start here. I also think
- 5:20Speaker 4: it's really telling, like the trust that Nick Nurse is
- 5:22Speaker 4: showing off the bat here that leading into today's games.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And I'm sure these stats will shake up after all
- 5:26Speaker 4: the matchups to go down, but he was tied for
- 5:28Speaker 4: third in the league in minutes played per game here,
- 5:30Speaker 4: which is nuts for a rookie to he's going there.
- 5:34Speaker 4: He's also like trusting him to run the offense at
- 5:36Speaker 4: a much higher than I expected, particularly when you have
- 5:39Speaker 4: guys like Quinton Grimes who's here for the second half
- 5:41Speaker 4: of the year, like Tyrese Maxi. We still have veteran
- 5:44Speaker 4: sitting on the bench who had not touched the floor
- 5:46Speaker 4: this year, such as Kyle Lowry like that, And I
- 5:48Speaker 4: also want to always bring up the Jad mccainne still
- 5:50Speaker 4: lurking in the background. Here is a guy that is
- 5:52Speaker 4: to be an impact player on this team in the
- 5:54Speaker 4: pretty near future that his cast has just been taken
- 5:56Speaker 4: off and is making his strives to return. But as
- 5:58Speaker 4: far as Bja overall, I think he, like I don't
- 6:01Speaker 4: really have a specific.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Improvement area right now.
- 6:03Speaker 4: He's just been great across the board the way that
- 6:05Speaker 4: I did not think was possible.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I you know, I'm looking at this team and there
- 6:08Speaker 1: are gonna be some guys who are gonna be coming
- 6:10Speaker 1: back to the court, Like you mentioned Jared McCain We're
- 6:13Speaker 1: gonna get to Paul George in a bit as well.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But I feel like I don't want any mojo getting
- 6:18Speaker 1: screwed up right now with some of these guys coming back,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and not that it will by any stretch of the imagination.
- 6:23Speaker 1: But I think it's also important that we talk about
- 6:26Speaker 1: what we have also seen from Joel Embiid too, because
- 6:29Speaker 1: I mean, for years and years and years, I mean,
- 6:32Speaker 1: arguably one of the best athletes in the city of
- 6:34Speaker 1: Philadelphia and somebody who just a couple of years ago
- 6:37Speaker 1: was the MVP of this league. And it really does
- 6:39Speaker 1: appear sean as though the torch has really been passed
- 6:42Speaker 1: to this new generation of Sixers players, as Embiid is,
- 6:46Speaker 1: you know, missing tonight's game from you know what, he's
- 6:50Speaker 1: missing tonight's game from a load management injury management standpoint?
- 6:54Speaker 1: How do you envision Joel Embiid's role on this team
- 6:57Speaker 1: throughout this season? I guess from an overall perspective because
- 7:00Speaker 1: I remember seeing a social post from you where you
- 7:05Speaker 1: were ranking some NBA players and I think Embiid might
- 7:08Speaker 1: have been like a top six if I'm not mistaken, Like,
- 7:12Speaker 1: what are your thoughts about himbid? From an overall perspective,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I mean, can he really do that? Can he be
- 7:16Speaker 1: like a top six NBA player here? And where do
- 7:19Speaker 1: you really see his role from what we've seen thus far?
- 7:22Speaker 4: Yeah, And for that list in your referencing there, I
- 7:25Speaker 4: kind of went with my direction there is this is
- 7:26Speaker 4: a guy who we've seen done it, and I do
- 7:28Speaker 4: think that has been written off a little bit prematurely
- 7:31Speaker 4: here for sure that obviously he's been on a strict
- 7:33Speaker 4: minutes limit he's played twenty minutes in the game, and
- 7:35Speaker 4: it's been very different across those two games there. I
- 7:38Speaker 4: think we all forget a little bit that less than
- 7:40Speaker 4: two calendar years ago, this dude was a universal top
- 7:42Speaker 4: five player in basketball, and it has been helped it's
- 7:45Speaker 4: gotten the way now. Granted, we know kind of what
- 7:47Speaker 4: happens with big guys when there are lower leg issues
- 7:49Speaker 4: that the track record is not great there, but I
- 7:51Speaker 4: gave him a little bit more of the benefit of
- 7:53Speaker 4: the doubt, and I think he's getting nationally there and
- 7:55Speaker 4: decided I would rather rock with a guy that I've
- 7:57Speaker 4: seen do it than somebody taking a leap for that
- 7:59Speaker 4: type of list there. But as far as embiads outlook
- 8:01Speaker 4: for the season overall, I mean, the first game was
- 8:03Speaker 4: really concerning to me from the standpoint of I was
- 8:06Speaker 4: pretty impressed with that final preseason game that he did play,
- 8:08Speaker 4: but I did think he was moving well there against
- 8:10Speaker 4: the Timberwolves, and obviously was the third stringer in his preseason,
- 8:13Speaker 4: but just his movement up and down the court was
- 8:15Speaker 4: really encouraging to me. Then in Game one this year,
- 8:18Speaker 4: did not look the same, but he was sort of
- 8:19Speaker 4: lumbering around No. One to County nothing like that, and
- 8:22Speaker 4: that's when the red flag started to raise with you.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Even from a rebound perspective too. I wanted to throw
- 8:26Speaker 1: that in there because like that, I mean, that's look, yes,
- 8:30Speaker 1: this is basketball and a critically important part of the game.
- 8:33Speaker 1: But when you have somebody like Embiid with his size
- 8:35Speaker 1: where he needs to be underneath the rim. It was
- 8:38Speaker 1: really concerning that first game of the season just in
- 8:41Speaker 1: terms of the lack of rebounding ability.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Yeah, no, you're one hundred percent right there, and that's
- 8:45Speaker 4: gonna be something that they're going to kind of have
- 8:46Speaker 4: to combat for the rest of his career. Is pairing
- 8:48Speaker 4: him in a little different way than it has been
- 8:50Speaker 4: the case for most of this but I was encouraged
- 8:52Speaker 4: by the second game of him looking a bit closer
- 8:54Speaker 4: to more like himself. There's still a work in progress
- 8:57Speaker 4: as far as his impact around the rim. I think
- 8:59Speaker 4: defensively there's going to have to be some conversations, but
- 9:01Speaker 4: the dude's working back from two surgeries in the span
- 9:04Speaker 4: of eighteen months. I do like that there is a
- 9:06Speaker 4: concrete plan from the Sixers organization like I've seen it.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Even a little bit of criticism for him not playing
- 9:10Speaker 4: against the magic there. There is always the MB beating
- 9:13Speaker 4: up on bad teams, merchant accusations on the internet there.
- 9:16Speaker 4: But I think it makes a lot of sense for
- 9:17Speaker 4: him to play Saturday, rest Sunday, Monday, play Tuesday and
- 9:21Speaker 4: rest Wednesday, Thursday, and then play Friday. So it does
- 9:23Speaker 4: feel like there is a plan in place for it.
- 9:25Speaker 4: I think the reality is there will be nights where
- 9:28Speaker 4: we get a little bit of a throwback Jowell and
- 9:29Speaker 4: b performance, but it is no longer live and die
- 9:32Speaker 4: with where Joel Andbid takes you. That this team has
- 9:34Speaker 4: other ways that they can win. They have other styles
- 9:36Speaker 4: of basketball that they can play, and I think that
- 9:38Speaker 4: should be looked at as a positive.
- 9:39Speaker 1: That's a fantastic point. It's a great point as we
- 9:42Speaker 1: head into our first break here. But first and foremost,
- 9:46Speaker 1: tell everybody where they can find you on the socials
- 9:47Speaker 1: out there and on the innerwebs if they want to
- 9:49Speaker 1: connect with you.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Sean, Yeah, you can follow me on exit at Sean
- 9:53Speaker 4: Underscore Bernard one.

- 10:32Speaker 2: Again.
- 10:32Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break here and when we get back,
- 10:34Speaker 1: got more Sixers talk coming your way. All right, We
- 10:38Speaker 1: are back with our good friend Sean Bernard from Fox
- 10:41Speaker 1: Sports Phillies, The Gambler also DraftKings, Pick Swap Media. I'm
- 10:46Speaker 1: glad to hear you getting back into it there, because
- 10:48Speaker 1: I truly enjoyed listening to you guys, but specifically when
- 10:53Speaker 1: i'd be picking my daughters up during the winter season
- 10:56Speaker 1: from their ski from their ski club at school. I love,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I love listening to you guys, it was. It was
- 11:01Speaker 1: perfect somehow.
- 11:02Speaker 2: For the facts. Appreciate that. Yes, I meant absolutely.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Man, Well, look, I want to get into the quote
- 11:09Speaker 1: other guy, the older guy on this team, who we're
- 11:12Speaker 1: just not talking a lot about because he hasn't been
- 11:14Speaker 1: on the court and we're not one hundred percent shore
- 11:16Speaker 1: when he's gonna get back on the court, and that's
- 11:17Speaker 1: Paul George and US fans. You know what our expectations
- 11:22Speaker 1: should be in terms of his contributions this season, and
- 11:26Speaker 1: once he's able to get back on the court, I mean,
- 11:28Speaker 1: how I'm wondering, from what we've seen thus far, the
- 11:31Speaker 1: good stuff we have seen thus far, and we've seen
- 11:32Speaker 1: a decent amount of it, how does this team alter
- 11:35Speaker 1: itself once Paul George comes back from his injury And
- 11:39Speaker 1: is that alteration gonna be a good thing or could
- 11:41Speaker 1: it potentially be a negative thing? Here, Sean, what are
- 11:44Speaker 1: your thoughts?
- 11:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I do think it's gonna be a good thing,
- 11:47Speaker 3: to be perfully honest, And.
- 11:48Speaker 4: There is no doubt that he did not live up
- 11:49Speaker 4: to the max contract expectations that he did have last year,
- 11:52Speaker 4: and I think it's fair to assess that he may
- 11:54Speaker 4: very well never reach quite those heights there. But I
- 11:57Speaker 4: do think we're watching the start of the six or
- 11:59Speaker 4: season that I'm gonna I feel a whole lot better
- 12:00Speaker 4: if they're kicking out to the corner and it's Paul
- 12:02Speaker 4: George taking a three point rather than Dominic Barlow or
- 12:05Speaker 4: Kelly Eubray.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Even in that case.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Yeah, So I think there was a lot of uncharacteristic
- 12:09Speaker 4: stuff from George. I think it's gonna be nice that
- 12:11Speaker 4: he's looked at to fit in rather than be the
- 12:13Speaker 4: guy and how the season will play off. And I
- 12:15Speaker 4: do think that this is happening at a pretty rapid
- 12:17Speaker 4: rate here that he's already returned to five on five practice,
- 12:20Speaker 4: I don't think we're that far from him rejoining this team.
- 12:22Speaker 4: And another kind of critique of Paul George throughout his career,
- 12:26Speaker 4: he's been a little bit against being labeled of power
- 12:28Speaker 4: forward or playing the fourth five about being pretty open
- 12:31Speaker 4: to that during Six's media day.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I think he's an encouraging sign.
- 12:34Speaker 4: So he may not be the max contract guy that
- 12:37Speaker 4: he was built out to be, but I don't think
- 12:38Speaker 4: he can be a very valuable role in this current
- 12:40Speaker 4: Sixers team and fit into stylistically the way they want
- 12:42Speaker 4: to play.
- 12:43Speaker 1: All right, Well, it's gonna be positive vibes here on
- 12:45Speaker 1: out for us as we talk about this team, because
- 12:48Speaker 1: like we've seen some surprises for sure, and again only
- 12:52Speaker 1: as of us recording this, only two full games being
- 12:54Speaker 1: played at this point, two and a half games being played.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I'm wondering which player on this team, Yes, of course
- 13:00Speaker 1: it's early team.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Which player has really.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Been a surprise when you look at what they've done
- 13:05Speaker 1: so far on the court and why Yeah, for.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Me, it's definitely Dominic Barlow in this category here, and
- 13:10Speaker 4: it is unfortunate that he's picked up a little bit
- 13:12Speaker 4: of injury himself, a laceration they're calling it, which it
- 13:15Speaker 4: required some sort of procedure, with like a little bit
- 13:18Speaker 4: more of a clear update from the Sixers overall what's
- 13:20Speaker 4: going on there. He has ruled out for today and tomorrow,
- 13:22Speaker 4: but he was the guy that got the start, start
- 13:24Speaker 4: in both the opening two games, and I think that
- 13:26Speaker 4: speaks a lot about the belief in Nick Nurse to
- 13:28Speaker 4: give a guy that's on a two way contractor that
- 13:30Speaker 4: has a fifty game limit at the NBA level and
- 13:32Speaker 4: expected to play some time with the Blue Coats that
- 13:34Speaker 4: he said no, that dude gives us the best chance
- 13:36Speaker 4: to win right now, and that's the decision that Nurse made.
- 13:38Speaker 4: But the athleticism absolutely pops. And to your same point
- 13:41Speaker 4: about Joelle's sort of lack of verticality and rebounding ability
- 13:44Speaker 4: that they're in there, you need a guy like Dominic
- 13:46Speaker 4: Barlow who is going to be all effort, all athleticism
- 13:49Speaker 4: and will of those do the dirty work for the
- 13:50Speaker 4: team here. So I think he's served a very valuable
- 13:52Speaker 4: purpose so far, and I think he's going to continue
- 13:54Speaker 4: to be a pretty significant part of the Sixers team
- 13:56Speaker 4: all season.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I didn't really plan on asking you about Nick Nurse,
- 13:58Speaker 1: but you brought Nick Nurse up, and you know, I
- 14:01Speaker 1: got to give him a ton of credit, you know,
- 14:03Speaker 1: bouncing back from the season that this team had last year,
- 14:06Speaker 1: just a complete toilet bowl of a season.
- 14:10Speaker 2: It was just rough, as we all know.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I think Nick Nurse deserves some credit right out of
- 14:14Speaker 1: the gate here for how he has been that that
- 14:17Speaker 1: coaching leader that this team really needs.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I think would you say.
- 14:21Speaker 4: The same, Yeah, absolutely, And I think I was a
- 14:24Speaker 4: bit more critical of Nick Nurse than the general consensus
- 14:27Speaker 4: for last year. That for sure, he was far from
- 14:29Speaker 4: the reason where things went south, and there was spots
- 14:32Speaker 4: where it's like, what can he really do based on
- 14:34Speaker 4: the players that he does have? But I was a
- 14:35Speaker 4: little frustrated personally with it felt like all too often
- 14:38Speaker 4: he was sort of throwing his hands up, what do
- 14:40Speaker 4: you want me to do with this?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah, a guy like.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Nick Nurse has been branded as this basketball genius, this
- 14:45Speaker 4: mad scientist, this excellent nose wizard that can cook together
- 14:48Speaker 4: these creative lineups. I didn't see a lot of that
- 14:50Speaker 4: last year. So far this season they are playing Nick
- 14:53Speaker 4: Nurse basketball that they're forcing turnovers, pushing the pace. There
- 14:56Speaker 4: does feel to be a bit of an identity in
- 14:57Speaker 4: a way that never kind of landed last year. Yeah,
- 15:00Speaker 4: shout out to Nick Naris forgetting the team to buy in.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I think the product on the floor is sort of
- 15:04Speaker 4: speaking to that buy in directly there.
- 15:06Speaker 3: And I do think he deserves a lot of praise
- 15:07Speaker 3: for how the season has started.
- 15:08Speaker 1: All Right, Well, my friend, before I let you go,
- 15:11Speaker 1: we've been talking, and you know, talking to getting around
- 15:14Speaker 1: to this subject matter of the vibes, and the vibes
- 15:17Speaker 1: are certainly high right now for this Sixers team, and
- 15:19Speaker 1: it's because we really are. I think seeing that torch
- 15:22Speaker 1: being passed, like we talked about earlier, we're actually seeing
- 15:25Speaker 1: it happening in motion right now. A lot of us
- 15:28Speaker 1: talked over this past offseason and even in the past
- 15:31Speaker 1: few years, you know, when we would start to see it,
- 15:33Speaker 1: We're seeing it. It's being done in such a productive way.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I think, how does this team keep these positive vibes
- 15:39Speaker 1: going in the long term for US fans to truly
- 15:42Speaker 1: continue to love this team and who they are.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's keep the foot on the gas that the
- 15:47Speaker 2: way they are right.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:48Speaker 4: And I think where this really started to me and
- 15:50Speaker 4: what made an impression on me significantly here was Tyrese
- 15:53Speaker 4: Maxi when he stepped up there at Sixers media day.
- 15:55Speaker 2: He talked about his goals for the.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Season, and one of the number one things he brought
- 15:59Speaker 4: up is setting a stand that he said, when you
- 16:01Speaker 4: flip on the Philadelphia seventy six watch them and TV,
- 16:03Speaker 4: when you go to a game, that you're gonna know
- 16:05Speaker 4: the way they're gonna play, that they're gonna compete until
- 16:07Speaker 4: the final whistle. There's going to be a standard of play.
- 16:10Speaker 4: He is walking the walk with that statement there, and
- 16:12Speaker 4: it started with the offseason with him bringing teammates out
- 16:15Speaker 4: to his hometown of Texas, flying him at our home
- 16:17Speaker 4: state of Texas, bringing them out for training and everything there.
- 16:21Speaker 4: But I think it starts with that. There is a
- 16:23Speaker 4: standard that is set this year that I don't really
- 16:24Speaker 4: feel was ever the case. So if this is if
- 16:27Speaker 4: the floor for this team is a group of young
- 16:29Speaker 4: athletic players that it's gonna compete and give you everything
- 16:31Speaker 4: they got, that's a team that I think we all
- 16:33Speaker 4: can rock with and get behind.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Here.
- 16:34Speaker 4: So there's a lot more season to kind of sort
- 16:37Speaker 4: through how good this team really is, what are the
- 16:39Speaker 4: strengths and weaknesses, and how does this stack up around
- 16:41Speaker 4: the rest of the NBA. But if that's what we're
- 16:42Speaker 4: getting out every night, basis is a team that's gonna
- 16:44Speaker 4: compete as hard as they possibly can.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I can rock with that team right there.
- 16:48Speaker 1: We all can for sure, folks. He is Sean Bernard again,
