- 0:07Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Schreeger as a production of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with My Heart Radio. What's Up, Everybody,
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's Peter Schreeger and this is the Season with Peter
- 0:27Speaker 1: Schreeger as an end of the year treat. I opened
- 0:30Speaker 1: up on Twitter and said opened up. I opened up
- 0:33Speaker 1: to everybody on Twitter, and I showed my true colors,
- 0:36Speaker 1: and I said, send me anything, any mail, bad question
- 0:39Speaker 1: you want, ask me anything, and we'll pick a few
- 0:41Speaker 1: of them and we'll answer them on the podcast as
- 0:44Speaker 1: a little end of the year treat. This is part two.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Part one was an interview we recorded earlier today with
- 0:49Speaker 1: Andrew Whitworth, who I don't know, it seems like I
- 0:53Speaker 1: can still play for the Bengals and uh good that
- 0:55Speaker 1: to listen went with this grant. I also discussed Sean
- 0:57Speaker 1: Payton at length in that podcast. But Aaron wrong Kaufman,
- 1:02Speaker 1: I love working with you. It is now week seventeen
- 1:06Speaker 1: of the season with Peter Schrager. We've had a ton
- 1:08Speaker 1: of guests and now it's time to dip ourselves into
- 1:13Speaker 1: the reader and listener questions. Do you want to just
- 1:16Speaker 1: fire these at me? And then uh, I'll take my
- 1:18Speaker 1: best stab at answering some questions from Twitter. Perfect sounds good,
- 1:22Speaker 1: all right, So the first one we've got is from
- 1:24Speaker 1: I apologize when I mispronounced all of these Twitter handles,
- 1:27Speaker 1: but Saudi Banani, I think it sounds right. Yeah, and
- 1:31Speaker 1: they rhyme, so that makes sense. They asked you, what's
- 1:34Speaker 1: the key to the Packers earning a playoff spot and
- 1:37Speaker 1: progressing beyond the wild card weekend? You know, shame on
- 1:41Speaker 1: everybody in the NFC. You know, the Packers were four
- 1:44Speaker 1: and eight, four and eight, especially following two primetime losses,
- 1:51Speaker 1: the terrible one at home to Tennessee and then the
- 1:54Speaker 1: one where they fought hard put loss to the Eagles.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And you come out of that fourign eight. The Packers
- 1:59Speaker 1: should be done. Any team that's foreignate should not be
- 2:01Speaker 1: going to the playoffs. And yet NFC team by NFC
- 2:05Speaker 1: team by NFC team, one by one by one continues
- 2:08Speaker 1: to screw up and lose games, allowing the Packers to
- 2:11Speaker 1: still have a flicker of hope. And now the Packers
- 2:14Speaker 1: have won three straight games. They got rested on the
- 2:16Speaker 1: bye week. Their special teams is suddenly something that's a strength.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Run for the last year and a half, it was
- 2:22Speaker 1: an absolute embarrassment. And you look, they got everything they
- 2:25Speaker 1: needed this week. They got the Giants to lose, they
- 2:27Speaker 1: got the Commanders to lose, they got the Seahawks to lose.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You look at that NFC South that's irrelevant for the
- 2:34Speaker 1: wild card race. None of those teams going on the
- 2:36Speaker 1: wild card. So all those other teams that they needed
- 2:39Speaker 1: to lose lost, and the Lions lost. So suddenly the
- 2:44Speaker 1: Packers are seven and eight. They are a half game
- 2:47Speaker 1: out of the final NFC playoff spot, and they've got
- 2:51Speaker 1: the Vikings and the Lions, two teams that they have
- 2:53Speaker 1: just bullied around for the last two decades at home
- 2:56Speaker 1: the next two weeks. What they need is this, they
- 2:59Speaker 1: need to win both of their final two games. Obviously,
- 3:03Speaker 1: they've got to beat the Vikings in Lambeau and then
- 3:06Speaker 1: they've gotta beat the Lions in Lambeau, which I think
- 3:08Speaker 1: is doable, especially if Rogers is playing like you've been
- 3:11Speaker 1: playing the last few weeks. And then they need the
- 3:14Speaker 1: Commanders to lose one of their games. Okay, one of
- 3:18Speaker 1: their final two games, which is Cleveland or Dallas or
- 3:23Speaker 1: Commanders can win both those games. They need the Giants
- 3:25Speaker 1: to lose both so their best bet is this their
- 3:28Speaker 1: best bet, and they got helped by the Eagles for
- 3:31Speaker 1: losing on something because now the Eagles are gonna you know,
- 3:34Speaker 1: I have to be playing and the Cowboys are gonna
- 3:36Speaker 1: be playing to the final stretch. So here's what they need.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Packers fans, you're failing me. Here's what you got. Win
- 3:42Speaker 1: these final two games, and then you need Dallas or
- 3:45Speaker 1: Cleveland to beat Washington. If you get that, you're in.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And then Rogers is the seventh seed. And guess who's
- 3:52Speaker 1: most likely the two seed? Forty Niners? And guess what
- 3:57Speaker 1: Rogers Niners revenge from last year in San Francisco. Let's
- 4:02Speaker 1: roll like this thing is crazy. The fact that they
- 4:05Speaker 1: even let this guy, and you know it's I always
- 4:08Speaker 1: say he's like the Boogeyman in the NFC, like keep
- 4:10Speaker 1: him out of the club. Do not let the Boogeyman
- 4:12Speaker 1: back in. But here we are, and I think they
- 4:14Speaker 1: played well last week. I gets the Dolphins three picks
- 4:16Speaker 1: yet and I'm not sure if Tour was concussed during
- 4:18Speaker 1: that or not. It doesn't matter. The defense is all
- 4:20Speaker 1: over the place. They just absolutely manhandled the Dolphins, uh
- 4:24Speaker 1: in that final Stanza. So Packers are alive Vikings. If
- 4:29Speaker 1: you want to put an end to everyone's misery, just
- 4:31Speaker 1: beat them and and shut everyone up and show that
- 4:34Speaker 1: you're not just one of these smoking mirrors teams that
- 4:36Speaker 1: wins by one score every game and just hangs on
- 4:38Speaker 1: by the skin of their teeth. Go beat them if
- 4:40Speaker 1: you really want to tell everyone that you're the power
- 4:42Speaker 1: of the NFC North. If not, you better believe that
- 4:44Speaker 1: game Sunday night is going to be on TV and
- 4:47Speaker 1: it'll be national television Lions versus Packers with Aaron Rodgers
- 4:50Speaker 1: playing for a chance to make it to the NFL playoffs.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Wild Ride. I'm here for another team that we got
- 4:56Speaker 1: a ton of questions about, was the Raiders and their
- 4:59Speaker 1: chances of making into the playoffs. Yeah. So I do
- 5:02Speaker 1: a segment on Good Morning Football every year called a
- 5:04Speaker 1: Beautiful Mind, and I take the team that has longest
- 5:07Speaker 1: odds at making the playoffs going into Week seventeen, the
- 5:11Speaker 1: longest odd so, the biggest long shot, and it's the
- 5:15Speaker 1: Las Vegas Raiders, with Aaron a one point to five
- 5:18Speaker 1: percent chance to make the playoffs. Here's a clip from
- 5:22Speaker 1: the show where I explain exactly what they need to
- 5:25Speaker 1: see the Silver and Black playing in January. It might
- 5:28Speaker 1: take a little bit more than a winning in like
- 5:30Speaker 1: it did in one against the Chargers, But the Raiders
- 5:34Speaker 1: are still alive for the playoffs, and I'm here to
- 5:36Speaker 1: tell you how they will make the dance. Here's one
- 5:40Speaker 1: way the six and nine Raiders can still qualify for
- 5:42Speaker 1: the NFL playoffs. Producers, Can I have my music? Please?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Can I my music? Thank you? For the Raiders. To
- 5:50Speaker 1: secure a playoff birth, Las Vegas must win their last
- 5:55Speaker 1: two games home against the forty Niners, then home against
- 5:58Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs. Second, the Dolphins must lose their
- 6:02Speaker 1: last two games Week seventeen at the Patriots, then we
- 6:06Speaker 1: eighteen home against the Jets. Third, the Jets need to
- 6:11Speaker 1: lose Week seventeen at Seattle, then win in week eighteen
- 6:16Speaker 1: at Miami. Fourth, the Patriots then need to beat the
- 6:20Speaker 1: Dolphins in Week seventeen, but then lose Week eighteen at
- 6:25Speaker 1: Buffalo against the Bills. Fifth. Fifth, the Steelers then need
- 6:32Speaker 1: to lose at least one game. Now they can lose both,
- 6:35Speaker 1: but Pittsburgh must lose at least once, either at the
- 6:38Speaker 1: Ravens in Week seventeen this Sunday night or home against
- 6:42Speaker 1: the Browns six six. The Titans they need to beat
- 6:47Speaker 1: the Cowboys at home, then losing their regular season finale
- 6:50Speaker 1: against the Jaguars. If all of that happens, there would
- 6:55Speaker 1: then be a sixth way tie for the seventh playoff spot,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and that sixth way tie would be between the Patriots,
- 7:02Speaker 1: the Dolphins, the Jets, the Steelers, the Titans, and the Raiders.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Which team would get the final spot? Well, first, the
- 7:10Speaker 1: tiebreaker is a divisional The Patriots would have the best
- 7:13Speaker 1: had to add record among the Jets and Dolphins, which
- 7:16Speaker 1: would eliminate New York in Miami. The second tiebreaker is
- 7:19Speaker 1: overall conference record in Pittsburgh would be four night in
- 7:22Speaker 1: the conference in the a f C games, Tennessee would
- 7:24Speaker 1: be five and seven in the conference in an f
- 7:26Speaker 1: C games, but New England and Las Vegas would both
- 7:29Speaker 1: be six and six. That eliminates both Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So it would then come down to the Raiders, and
- 7:38Speaker 1: you guessed it, the Patriots. And what would the tidebreaker
- 7:41Speaker 1: be in that one. Let's go back to the final
- 7:45Speaker 1: play Week fifteen, Patriots and Raiders tied at sixty four.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Jacobe Meyers lateraling the ball and it landing in the
- 7:53Speaker 1: arms of Chandler Jones. After this, Romandre Stephens pitch this
- 7:58Speaker 1: play right here would be the tiebreaker after a seven
- 8:03Speaker 1: way tie for that seed and the Raider because of
- 8:07Speaker 1: this game, this tidebreaker over the Patriots would have the
- 8:11Speaker 1: head to head advantage, and it would be the Las
- 8:13Speaker 1: Vegas Raiders getting the tiebreaker over the Patriots and learning
- 8:17Speaker 1: the final spot in the a f C playoffs. Now, folks,
- 8:20Speaker 1: if you're saying that's crazy, you're right. There is a
- 8:23Speaker 1: one point to five percent chance that the Raiders have
- 8:27Speaker 1: to make the playoffs. But if we've learned anything following
- 8:31Speaker 1: the NFL season this year, if you give me a chance,
- 8:36Speaker 1: it means there is a way the Las Vegas Raiders
- 8:41Speaker 1: would be able to make the playoffs if all those
- 8:43Speaker 1: things happened. Do we have my full screen of what
- 8:46Speaker 1: they need, producers, Do we have this? This is what
- 8:50Speaker 1: they need, all of this help. They need to win
- 8:52Speaker 1: two games. They need to lose. They need the Dolphins
- 8:54Speaker 1: to lose two games. They need the Jets to lose
- 8:56Speaker 1: to the Seahawks but beat the Dolphins. They need the
- 8:58Speaker 1: Patriots to beat the Dolphins but lose to the Bills.
- 9:00Speaker 1: They need the Steelers to lose one game, and then
- 9:02Speaker 1: they need the Titans to beat the Cowboys and then
- 9:04Speaker 1: lose to the Jaguars. It is that easy, one point
- 9:06Speaker 1: to five. The Raiders are alive and well, Jamie Jason
- 9:11Speaker 1: your thoughts. Second question was from Darth Greece's If the
- 9:16Speaker 1: Rams recover from all of their injuries, can they be
- 9:19Speaker 1: playoff contenders again next season? Also from Argentina Argentina, congratulations
- 9:27Speaker 1: Darth Greasey's has been partying the last ten days. Good
- 9:29Speaker 1: for he or she? Um Big messy fan by the way,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I guess, uh that's not a crazy take, big messy fan. Um.
- 9:38Speaker 1: All right, I gotta be careful with the Rams. Everyone
- 9:40Speaker 1: knows my relationship with McVeigh and that I'm pretty plugged
- 9:43Speaker 1: in with that organization. I would say this, it's gonna
- 9:45Speaker 1: be a really interesting offseason. I think the Christmas Day
- 9:50Speaker 1: win was really cool. I think the Thursday night win
- 9:53Speaker 1: against the Raiders was really cool. But they have salary cap, hell,
- 9:58Speaker 1: no draft picks, and a bunch of really highly priced
- 10:02Speaker 1: veteran talent, and I'm curious to see what they do
- 10:05Speaker 1: and whether it's hey, let's bring everyone back and and
- 10:08Speaker 1: try to add more players and get more guys like
- 10:10Speaker 1: Bobby Wagner who they got this year, or like Allen
- 10:13Speaker 1: Robinson who they got this year, and try to figure
- 10:15Speaker 1: it out and sell more picks away. Or is next
- 10:18Speaker 1: year one of those like let's give it our best shot,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and let's see if Stafford's healthy, and let's see if
- 10:23Speaker 1: Cooper cup recovers, and let's just try to roll it back.
- 10:27Speaker 1: McVeigh is a big question mark. We'll see. I think
- 10:31Speaker 1: there was a report earlier this this month that he
- 10:35Speaker 1: might take some time away. Look, we and I have
- 10:37Speaker 1: not spoken about that. I wouldn't be shocked with anything though.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Um I know Sean has been burning the candle at
- 10:43Speaker 1: both ends, and that means both coaching and life wise. Uh.
- 10:47Speaker 1: You know, he got married this past offseason, his grandfather
- 10:50Speaker 1: passed away, he bought a new home, he went out
- 10:53Speaker 1: on honeymoon. Um, he his wife's family is is Ukrainian.
- 10:59Speaker 1: There's a lot going on for Sean McVeigh right now,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and I would be curious to see how he handles
- 11:06Speaker 1: the final two weeks of the season, then also maybe
- 11:09Speaker 1: the final weeks of January as well, to see what
- 11:12Speaker 1: he wants to do with his future. But I'll say this,
- 11:15Speaker 1: I think the roster got just absolutely riddle with injuries,
- 11:19Speaker 1: a lot of veteran guys that they all come back healthy.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm if I'm looking at next
- 11:23Speaker 1: year's Rams, I wouldn't expect them to be Super Bowl
- 11:27Speaker 1: contenders just yet. There's just so many players that got hurt,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and so many guys who are I think in in
- 11:33Speaker 1: in a different stage of their careers and they were
- 11:35Speaker 1: a year ago when they were all home and all right.
- 11:36Speaker 1: The third one is from gerr Ky, Yeah, Ky, Why
- 11:42Speaker 1: isn't there more smoke about Brady to the Jets next year? Defense,
- 11:47Speaker 1: good skill guys. Brady's kids in school in New York
- 11:50Speaker 1: chanced to be back in the a f C East.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I don't know if that's a positive, But yeah, I
- 11:55Speaker 1: don't think Brady would do that to Robert Kraft. I
- 11:58Speaker 1: know that sounds wildly like sentimental and all that. I
- 12:02Speaker 1: just I don't see Tom Brady, who was the pride
- 12:07Speaker 1: of the New England Patriots, and if he goes out
- 12:08Speaker 1: of conference and plays for them, and I guess you're saying, well,
- 12:11Speaker 1: he's going to the Dolphins. I think Jets and Patriots
- 12:13Speaker 1: are a different deal. I really do. I think Jets
- 12:15Speaker 1: and Patriots are a different deal. I would see the
- 12:18Speaker 1: Tom Brady story, and I guess Daniel Jones makes it
- 12:21Speaker 1: kind of mood right now, but because he's playing well enough.
- 12:23Speaker 1: But I would see Brady is more of a fit
- 12:25Speaker 1: for the Giants than the Jets. I just can't see
- 12:28Speaker 1: Brady in the Green and white. I could see the
- 12:30Speaker 1: Jets looking to acquire a veteran quarterback, whether that be
- 12:34Speaker 1: a Derek Carr in the off season, or signing a
- 12:36Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppolo, or or going heavy after um, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 1: some other quarterback that's elsewhere. I just I could see
- 12:44Speaker 1: them wanting to bring in Brady, and I could see
- 12:46Speaker 1: I just don't see Tom Brady signing with the hated
- 12:49Speaker 1: Jets over signing with another team if he comes back.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Uh again, that seems like it's contradictory because he was
- 12:55Speaker 1: willing to go to the Dolphins. We know that story
- 12:57Speaker 1: was out there. I think the Jets are different than
- 12:59Speaker 1: the Dolphins. I really do. And I think with the
- 13:01Speaker 1: history of dollar check and the Jets and all that stuff,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I don't think Brady would want to end his career
- 13:05Speaker 1: as a New York Jet. All right, number four from
- 13:08Speaker 1: Devon Lynn nine. Who are your top three head coaching
- 13:12Speaker 1: options that would be most beneficial for the Broncos? Okay,
- 13:16Speaker 1: so Broncos are unique situation, as so many other teams
- 13:20Speaker 1: have unique situations to them. Broncos went with the young,
- 13:23Speaker 1: hot offensive coordinator named Nathaniel Hackett and swung and miss desperately.
- 13:27Speaker 1: It was terrible and the team was undisciplined on the
- 13:29Speaker 1: sidelines on national TV, which I think was a great
- 13:31Speaker 1: embarrassment to a lot of people um Sunday seeing a
- 13:34Speaker 1: fight breakout and also seeing fisticuffs during the game on
- 13:38Speaker 1: the sidelines with their own offensive line in their backup quarterback.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Last year, dan Quinn was in the final interviews for
- 13:45Speaker 1: that job. I think dan Quinn makes a lot of
- 13:47Speaker 1: sense to the Denver Broncos. I think uh Frank Reich
- 13:52Speaker 1: makes a lot of sense for the Denver Broncos. I
- 13:55Speaker 1: think Leslie Frasier makes a lot of sense for the
- 13:58Speaker 1: Denver Broncos. Let's say Fraser is the defensive coordinator of
- 14:01Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills right now. He has a history with
- 14:03Speaker 1: George Payton, the general manager. Uh you know, I don't
- 14:07Speaker 1: know what this team is. Is Russell Wilson as bad
- 14:09Speaker 1: as he's played this year? If so, is that at
- 14:11Speaker 1: the turrant or is that a detrimental thing for a
- 14:15Speaker 1: for a coach that wants to go there, like Seanpagne
- 14:17Speaker 1: and we've talked about him at nauseum over the last
- 14:19Speaker 1: several weeks. Does he want to go to Denver? Well, Look,
- 14:22Speaker 1: they've got a great fan base, they've got an awesome
- 14:26Speaker 1: new ownership group that hasn't hired a head coach yet
- 14:29Speaker 1: and has a ton of money and is looking to
- 14:31Speaker 1: make a big splash. And Denver's a great place to live.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It's a great place to raise a family, it's a
- 14:37Speaker 1: great place to to to settle. Um. He would have
- 14:42Speaker 1: to figure out the Russell Wilson deal. So I don't
- 14:45Speaker 1: think it's a young offensive coach. I don't think overro Ijiro,
- 14:49Speaker 1: who has been um great as a defensive coordinator, is
- 14:52Speaker 1: going to get the head coaching job. I think they
- 14:54Speaker 1: go to a guy who has been there, done that
- 14:57Speaker 1: before as a head coach and stabilizes this thing. Uh.
- 15:00Speaker 1: The names I would put out there, as I've mentioned
- 15:02Speaker 1: Dan Quinn Okay, I think he's a very viable option,
- 15:06Speaker 1: and I think Frank Wright is a very valuable option.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I think Leslie Fraser is a very viable option. And uh,
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'll throw another one out there just because I think
- 15:17Speaker 1: he's he's done the rounds before, and he's got an
- 15:19Speaker 1: offensive mind, and it would be an interesting one. I
- 15:22Speaker 1: think Jim Caldwell is an interesting potential higher offensive coach
- 15:26Speaker 1: Detroit Lions. For years, um took the Lions to the
- 15:29Speaker 1: playoffs twice, got fired and hasn't gotten an opportunity since. Uh,
- 15:33Speaker 1: those are the coaches I'm going with for the for
- 15:34Speaker 1: the Broncos. As you can see, guys who have been there,
- 15:37Speaker 1: done that. You need to stabilize that thing. It's it's
- 15:38Speaker 1: kind of off the rails right now. Okay. Number five
- 15:42Speaker 1: favorite Monmouth County restaurant. Do you know what Mammoth County
- 15:45Speaker 1: is there somewhere in Jersey. Yeah, it's as far as Jersey.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I grew up in Mommouth County. I grew up in Freehold,
- 15:53Speaker 1: New Jersey, and my favorite Mammoth County restaurant is a
- 15:56Speaker 1: place called Federici's. Federici is in downtown Freehold. It's a
- 16:02Speaker 1: legendary spot for Springsteen is often seen there where was
- 16:06Speaker 1: at least twenty years ago when I lived there. You
- 16:08Speaker 1: get those like random like Springsteen was at Federici's. It's
- 16:12Speaker 1: the thinnest crust pizza you can imagine, and it's perfection.
- 16:16Speaker 1: There pizza is the best pizza in America. I'll put
- 16:19Speaker 1: it up against anywhere. I grew up on Federici's pizza.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I haven't had it in years. Uh. There was a
- 16:25Speaker 1: second Federici's that opened and it was actually interesting if
- 16:29Speaker 1: you really want to get into the dynamics of Mammoth
- 16:30Speaker 1: County restaurants. One of the brothers opened up another one
- 16:34Speaker 1: called Frankie Feds. I hear that those two brothers had
- 16:36Speaker 1: a falling out. I'm not sure where this is, but
- 16:39Speaker 1: there's like two rival Federici's. It's Frankie Feds, which is
- 16:42Speaker 1: about a mile away from Federici's, and both of them
- 16:46Speaker 1: are outstanding. Uh my mouth is watering even thinking about it.
- 16:49Speaker 1: That is my favorite Mammoth County restaurant. All due respect
- 16:52Speaker 1: to pel Does, and I'll due respect to the rest
- 16:56Speaker 1: of the Mammouth County restaurants that everyone will be arguing
- 16:58Speaker 1: about when they listen to this. You know, I've heard
- 17:00Speaker 1: a lot about Jersey pizza, but uh never, never really
- 17:04Speaker 1: like had a great New Jersey pizza, which is partly
- 17:07Speaker 1: my fault. It's different. It's so like I think like
- 17:09Speaker 1: a New Jersey slice. People think of like a New
- 17:11Speaker 1: York Slice, and that's great, and people in Long Island
- 17:13Speaker 1: will say, no, Long Island pizza is the best. Federchies
- 17:16Speaker 1: is unique. It is like a cracker. It is so thin.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I don't know if Portnoy did uh, I gotta look
- 17:21Speaker 1: it up. If Dave Portnoy has ever done, you know,
- 17:24Speaker 1: the pizza review for Barstool from feder Rechies. I'm curious
- 17:27Speaker 1: what he would give it to me. It's a ten.
- 17:28Speaker 1: It's the best pizza in the world. Following up another
- 17:30Speaker 1: food one favorite New York City steakhouse. Oh, okay, New
- 17:36Speaker 1: York City steakhouse Peter Lukers is not necessarily the best
- 17:42Speaker 1: steak or dining environment, and that Peter Lukers is legendary.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It's under the under the bridge in Williamsburg and it's
- 17:51Speaker 1: like no credit card, all cash. But it is a
- 17:55Speaker 1: fun night out. It is old school New York. So
- 17:58Speaker 1: I like the Peter Luker's experience, but I'm not gonna
- 18:02Speaker 1: say it's the best steak. I'm gonna say this, this
- 18:05Speaker 1: is a bit of an outside the box pick. I
- 18:07Speaker 1: don't think a lot of people talk about this place
- 18:10Speaker 1: as a steakhouse because it's also one in l A.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Wolfgang Puck has a fancy as steakhouse called Cut and
- 18:17Speaker 1: Cut has that wago, which is, you know, two dollars
- 18:21Speaker 1: for eight ounces of steak. It's absurd, But there is
- 18:24Speaker 1: one in the four seasons downtown in Manhattan. I have been,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I have been taken there. I certainly I am not
- 18:31Speaker 1: the one dipping into that. If you're ask me what
- 18:32Speaker 1: steakhouse I choose, it's usually the outback variety um, which
- 18:37Speaker 1: is nothing to shake a stick at. But if you
- 18:39Speaker 1: are in New York or Los Angeles, and in Los
- 18:42Speaker 1: Angeles they have one in the four seasons. They're also
- 18:44Speaker 1: Cut by Wolfgang Puck. Um insane wa goose steak like
- 18:50Speaker 1: just melts in your mouth. Nothing better in the world
- 18:52Speaker 1: than that, alright. Number seven from Josh B. Stern, Where
- 18:57Speaker 1: did you get the sweatshirt you wore Christmas Eve on
- 18:59Speaker 1: the show Good Morning Yes Yes, Yes, So on the
- 19:03Speaker 1: show Good Morning Football, I wore a sweatshirt that had
- 19:05Speaker 1: every NFL low go on it, and it was a hoodie.
- 19:08Speaker 1: It is actually from a collection that the NFL put
- 19:12Speaker 1: out called the Jeff Staples NFL X All Team Logo Sweatshirt.
- 19:17Speaker 1: From what I got thousand in tweets about this, where'd
- 19:19Speaker 1: you get swatsht Where'd you get that sweashirt? It's sick.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It's every team's logo. It's bizarre. It looks like your
- 19:25Speaker 1: old sheets when you were a kid, with all the
- 19:27Speaker 1: NFL logos on it. And it's just in a sweatshirt forum.
- 19:30Speaker 1: But right now I'm told they're all sold out, so
- 19:32Speaker 1: keep an eye out for it. Jeff's Staples, he is
- 19:34Speaker 1: a streetwear brand. I don't know him. Uh, He's apparently
- 19:38Speaker 1: a very popular designer, like of the Supreme Variety or
- 19:42Speaker 1: one of those brands the I'm trying to sound cool.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I'm not the one who's hanging outside Supreme waiting three
- 19:47Speaker 1: hours for a T shirt. But Jeff's Staples NFL X
- 19:52Speaker 1: All Team Logo sweatshirt. I had those those sheets with
- 19:55Speaker 1: the old school Paths logo and the oilers, like I
- 19:58Speaker 1: had those NFL sheets. Yeah, everyone had those NFL sheets.
- 20:02Speaker 1: They were the best. I would love to have those
- 20:05Speaker 1: sheets now as an adult. All Right, Number eight, what's
- 20:08Speaker 1: been your favorite moment of Good Morning Football. I'll tell
- 20:12Speaker 1: you my favorite moment of Good Morning Football, and it
- 20:14Speaker 1: was a It was a pretty cool deal because we
- 20:18Speaker 1: were in our second season as a show and we
- 20:21Speaker 1: had really picked up a lot of steam and we
- 20:22Speaker 1: were getting critical acclaim and everyone was like, we love
- 20:24Speaker 1: the show, we love the show. And the Eagles lost
- 20:28Speaker 1: Carson Wentz and Nick Foles comes in and Kyle Brant,
- 20:32Speaker 1: my co host, does a whole speech on Good Morning Football,
- 20:36Speaker 1: mimicking the Rocky four speech, where you know, Adrian's telling
- 20:41Speaker 1: him he can't do it, he can't do it at
- 20:43Speaker 1: the top of the stairwell and she's like, you can't
- 20:46Speaker 1: do it, You're not able to do it, Like what
- 20:47Speaker 1: are you doing? You can't do it. And he's basically
- 20:49Speaker 1: saying this to the Eagles, all right, and he's telling
- 20:52Speaker 1: them you can't do it, You're not good enough. What
- 20:54Speaker 1: are you doing? You're done? What do you can't do?
- 20:55Speaker 1: You're not going to fight if Andrago and Russia? What
- 20:58Speaker 1: are you doing? Um? And Cole does this whole amazing speech.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You can google it. It's great. Here's the wild, wicked
- 21:04Speaker 1: turn to this thing. Doup Peterson, the head coach of
- 21:08Speaker 1: the Eagles at the time, sees the clip, not knowing
- 21:12Speaker 1: that actually he knew, but knowing that his team might
- 21:17Speaker 1: not know the reference to the Rocky speech. He plays
- 21:21Speaker 1: Kyle Spiel to the Eagles the night before their game
- 21:25Speaker 1: against the Falcons in the NFC Divisional Round, and it's
- 21:28Speaker 1: Kyle Brandt saying you can't do it, You're not good enough,
- 21:32Speaker 1: There's no way you can do it. Da da da da,
- 21:34Speaker 1: all the stuff that probably uh Jason Kelsey scream about
- 21:38Speaker 1: in a Mummer's costume. So Peterson plays that for the team.
- 21:43Speaker 1: They don't know the Rocky speech. They just see some
- 21:45Speaker 1: white guy at Good Morning Football telling them they're not
- 21:48Speaker 1: good enough and there's no way they can win without
- 21:50Speaker 1: Carson Wentz and they're gonna lose their terrible team, the
- 21:53Speaker 1: worst number one seed in football history. Great, they go
- 21:57Speaker 1: out there, they go and they beat the Atlanta Falcons.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Julio Jones has one in the back of the end zone,
- 22:01Speaker 1: goes through his hands. They beat the Falcons. They're going
- 22:04Speaker 1: to host the NFC Championship game the following week. John
- 22:07Speaker 1: Clark is the local NBC reporter for Philadelphia. He gets
- 22:11Speaker 1: Brandon Graham, the team captain number fifty five, gets him
- 22:14Speaker 1: in a moment and says, Brandon, what do you want
- 22:18Speaker 1: to say to the fans who do who are rooting
- 22:20Speaker 1: for the Eagles and all the people who doubted you?
- 22:22Speaker 1: And he looks to the camera and says, Peter, not Peter,
- 22:26Speaker 1: Peter Schreeger. Peter Schreeger, you didn't think we could do this.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I want you to eat your words. You were wrong,
- 22:33Speaker 1: Peter Schreeger. You were wrong. Preeter Schreeger. Yeah, you better believe.
- 22:40Speaker 1: And like I said, Brita Schreegor, you was wrong. We
- 22:43Speaker 1: he good Morning Football. Y'all need to add that boy
- 22:46Speaker 1: on there. He was wrong. My name is Peter Schreeger.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I didn't even say anything. He just saw a white
- 22:51Speaker 1: guy good Morning football and assumed I was Kyle and
- 22:54Speaker 1: he's going off on the NBC, you know, broadcast. I'm
- 22:57Speaker 1: sitting at home getting a million tweets. I'm getting a
- 23:00Speaker 1: million texts. All my Eagles friends like Brandon Graham is
- 23:03Speaker 1: out for blood for who I picked the Eagles to win.
- 23:06Speaker 1: They like, I'm like, all right, so we're all laughing,
- 23:09Speaker 1: rub a good time. We run the clip on Good
- 23:10Speaker 1: Morning Football. Sure enough, they're going to beat the Vikings.
- 23:13Speaker 1: They're playing the Eagle, They're playing the Patriots in the
- 23:15Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Me, Nate and Kyle, we get to go
- 23:19Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl and we're sitting together. We're having
- 23:21Speaker 1: a blast and it's an amazing day and the game
- 23:23Speaker 1: is incredible. Turns out Derek Barnett strips Tom Brady, Brandon
- 23:29Speaker 1: Graham's trips Tom Brady, whoever does it? The Eagles win
- 23:32Speaker 1: the game. The coolest moment of Good Morning Football was
- 23:35Speaker 1: not my interaction with Brandon Graham, which did follow and
- 23:37Speaker 1: we had a great time, and he came on our
- 23:39Speaker 1: show and we had a blast and we unpacked it all.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But the coolest thing was we were a part of
- 23:44Speaker 1: that journey. We were on the show every morning. Kyle
- 23:47Speaker 1: was kind of the resident Eagles rallying cry guy. I
- 23:50Speaker 1: had been covering the Eagles for years. I knew Doug
- 23:52Speaker 1: really well, I knew how he Roseman really well, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: I had really fallen in love with Nick Foles. The story,
- 23:57Speaker 1: you know, from being discarded by Jeff Fisher on National
- 24:01Speaker 1: TV to being cut by the Chiefs. You know, all
- 24:04Speaker 1: this stuff coming out of really oblivion to come on
- 24:08Speaker 1: this team because it was so cold in Minnesota, and
- 24:11Speaker 1: it was ice cold in Minnesota. We had to walk
- 24:14Speaker 1: out of that stadium after the win, and there's these
- 24:16Speaker 1: little corridors like almost like connecting what would you even
- 24:20Speaker 1: call them sidewalks if you will, but like they're they're
- 24:23Speaker 1: over what would you call them? And you know I'm
- 24:24Speaker 1: talking about, yeah, toddles connecting all the hotels. And to
- 24:29Speaker 1: be a part of this walk back with thousands of
- 24:32Speaker 1: Eagles fans chanting E A G L. E S Eagles,
- 24:37Speaker 1: all the Eagles, chance fly, Eagles fly, all the stuff.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And I saw grandparents crying with their sons who were
- 24:44Speaker 1: crying with their sons and just joy and like I'm talking,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I get goose bumps. Thousands of fans of a fan
- 24:51Speaker 1: base I had not one since nineteen sixty finally winning
- 24:54Speaker 1: the Super Bowl and all of them walking in Unison, singing, chanting, hugging, loving,
- 24:59Speaker 1: And I was with my two brothers. I was with
- 25:01Speaker 1: Nate and Kyle, and we were walking through those corridors
- 25:04Speaker 1: together and I remember getting back to the reminisc being
- 25:06Speaker 1: like that was a cool moment, Cool moment for our show,
- 25:09Speaker 1: and uh, I'm pretty blessed to be a part of this.
- 25:11Speaker 1: So Nate has gone on to to to be on CBS.
- 25:15Speaker 1: K is no longer with us, um she's with FanDuel,
- 25:18Speaker 1: But me and Kyle are still doing it. We got
- 25:19Speaker 1: two new great hosts and Jason mccordy and Jamie Hurtle,
- 25:24Speaker 1: and I'm looking forward to having plenty of memories with them.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But that was my favorite memory. That whole Eagles run.
- 25:29Speaker 1: It was pretty damn cool. That's awesome. I love that.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I'm and I'm you know, very thankful that I get
- 25:34Speaker 1: to work with the great Preetor Schraeger too. So Freeter, Preet, Aaron,
- 25:39Speaker 1: anything else, anything else mailbag related that was our last
- 25:43Speaker 1: was great. To do that again, we'll do it again.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Maybe we'll do it uh instead of uh, you know,
- 25:50Speaker 1: having to book my own guests and try to ask
- 25:51Speaker 1: for favors, We'll just do whilbags every week. It sounds fun.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Let's let's have a nice end of the year. Thank
- 25:58Speaker 1: you to everybody. To you, Aaron, You've been awesome. We've
- 26:00Speaker 1: become really good friends and I appreciate all the work

- 26:05Speaker 1: Fantastic Stick, the NFL Network, the NFL digital folks. Um, everybody,
- 26:10Speaker 1: thank you for listening, and hopefully you'll keep hanging with
- 26:13Speaker 1: us into the playoffs as we're gonna be doing a

- 26:19Speaker 1: weeks and big names. I've already poked them uh and
- 26:22Speaker 1: uh no tease. Hopefully they come through. Um, but I'm excited.
