- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well before we jump in, we have not did you
- 0:13Speaker 2: know that it was a national gay Pride month starting today?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Big business for stores selling BoA's and two twos.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Okay, moving on or Handle on the news.
- 0:30Speaker 3: And now Handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:34Speaker 3: Bill Handle.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Good morning. Everybody. Is a Wednesday morning, June, third day
- 0:43Speaker 1: after the primary election. And I don't know about you, man.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I was tired before, tired of what's going on politically,
- 0:50Speaker 2: and even more tired now. Interesting, I might add, but
- 0:56Speaker 2: I'll talk more about what happened at seven o'clock. Obviously
- 0:58Speaker 2: there'll be a recap. No big surprises, however, one moderately
- 1:04Speaker 2: surprising aspect of the erection, which maybe you'll agree or disagree.
- 1:11Speaker 2: All right, quick, good morning to the crowd. Uh there
- 1:15Speaker 2: is Amy, Good morning Amy, Hi Bill, Hi Cono?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Hello Bill?
- 1:22Speaker 2: Oh just just a T shirt today?
- 1:25Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, suns out, guns out?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Okay, very well said, very well said.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I don't know if the view with the camera or not,
- 1:34Speaker 2: but Cono has the moves, at least from what I
- 1:38Speaker 2: can see over here.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I'm looking.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I'm saying from this view, Michelle, he has.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Is very fit.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Those are his pecks brouh.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and just a quick word about that.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Since Michelle has been with me for so.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Long and twenty five years ago or when she started,
- 2:05Speaker 2: what we used to do is comment on the fact
- 2:07Speaker 2: that Michelle is abundantly endowed.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Is true. This is absolutely true.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And when we do the when we did promotion photos
- 2:18Speaker 2: which we have, we had Michelle's photos simply a picture
- 2:23Speaker 2: of the Grand Teton Mountains and she would sign Michelle
- 2:28Speaker 2: Cube KFI Radio. By the way, that's true. Okay, Neil,
- 2:36Speaker 2: good morning, not after that, sure, after that, after that,
- 2:42Speaker 2: will good morning, good morning Bill. And there's some great
- 2:45Speaker 2: stories about Michelle too. She's got some fabulous stories in
- 2:49Speaker 2: that range. At some point we have to share those stories.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Michelle, there's exactly one story about.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It is a fabulous story. Would you like to share
- 2:59Speaker 2: with your other hold off on that.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It happened in the nineties when I was drinking quite
- 3:04Speaker 3: a bit and I got banned from Angel Stadium.
- 3:08Speaker 2: She got banned from Angel Stadium. And why do you
- 3:10Speaker 2: think she was banned from Angel Stadium?
- 3:12Speaker 5: I flashed somebody.
- 3:15Speaker 1: In the stands.
- 3:16Speaker 5: No, I well, I flashed somebody on the field, that's right.
- 3:20Speaker 5: She was anyone in particular, I can't remember. I can't remember.
- 3:24Speaker 5: It might have been Chuck Finley when he was pitching.
- 3:27Speaker 4: But it knocked out the second base coach. It really did.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And if you if you actually listened to the audio
- 3:35Speaker 2: that was recorded that day, you heard a lot of.
- 3:38Speaker 3: My God, will look at those It wasn't caught on JumboTron.
- 3:43Speaker 5: It was caught on there are no cell phones.
- 3:45Speaker 3: The worst part about that is that I had to
- 3:48Speaker 3: leave the stadium, but my stupid boyfriend stayed and so
- 3:52Speaker 3: I had to wait outside the stadium for him.
- 3:54Speaker 5: And that's the night that we broke up.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Because he was one of those guys who like put
- 4:00Speaker 3: down all the pitches and he tracks.
- 4:02Speaker 4: The He sounds fun.
- 4:05Speaker 2: No, it sounds like a lot of fun. Okay, I
- 4:07Speaker 2: said hello to everybody. Let me see, Amy, I did
- 4:10Speaker 2: say hello to you, didn't I you are obviously forgotten already.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Uh. Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Lindsey talks about how on this show, for the most part,
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm focused except when I say hello to people. Uh,
- 4:22Speaker 2: And then the rest of the time I just don't
- 4:24Speaker 2: pay attention. I'll say something, and she said, I told
- 4:28Speaker 2: you three days ago. I told you yesterday, the day before,
- 4:31Speaker 2: for the last three days.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Did you listen? No, No, not at all. All right,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you guys ready to do it?
- 4:39Speaker 4: Sure?
- 4:40Speaker 2: Sure, it's the day after election day, and of course,
- 4:42Speaker 2: uh we are doing the news with Amy Neil and me.
- 4:48Speaker 2: It is lead story. I was surprised, I thought was
- 4:55Speaker 2: that Steve Hilton actually got more votes, or at least
- 4:59Speaker 2: up to this point.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I mean, all the votes have not been counted.
- 5:03Speaker 2: He got twenty seven percent, Besarah twenty five percent, give
- 5:06Speaker 2: or take. I'm going to say a few words about
- 5:09Speaker 2: that at seven o'clock because that says a whole lot
- 5:13Speaker 2: about what we are thinking and where we were going,
- 5:16Speaker 2: and an analogy to work at the same place we were,
- 5:20Speaker 2: was it six seven years ago? Stier came in third
- 5:24Speaker 2: with almost twenty percent. So Stier spent about fifteen eighteen
- 5:29Speaker 2: maybe twenty two dollars per vote, and Chad Bianco came
- 5:34Speaker 2: in with only eleven percent of the vote. So that's done.
- 5:38Speaker 2: That's finished on that one, and so we'll do a
- 5:41Speaker 2: lot more than that. The governor's race the mayor's race,
- 5:45Speaker 2: which are the two big races, and both those races
- 5:48Speaker 2: were covered nationally. Even the LA mayors race covered nationally much.
- 5:53Speaker 5: More lugely on both Fox and Cenna.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It's like the mayor's run for New York. It is
- 6:01Speaker 2: a big national story. Well, the mayor of either New
- 6:04Speaker 2: York or LA instantly becomes a national figure, or one
- 6:09Speaker 2: of the two, or both become national figures.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So we'll talk more about that.
- 6:14Speaker 6: Well, who to thunk Spencer's surging in the race for
- 6:18Speaker 6: LA mayor. Karen Bass has like thirty five percent of
- 6:21Speaker 6: the vote, and I said that's enough. She's going to
- 6:23Speaker 6: go to the runoffs. So the question is does Spencer
- 6:26Speaker 6: Pratt have enough to make it or could Nithia Ramans
- 6:29Speaker 6: still come back. Spencer Pratt has about thirty percent of
- 6:32Speaker 6: the vote right now. Nythia Rahman has twenty two percent.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's going to be tough for her
- 6:42Speaker 2: to come back. Maybe not though, you know, because mail
- 6:45Speaker 2: in ballots and there's huge number of mail in ballots.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yesterday I mailed in my ballot.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Well, actually I had to go to the post office
- 6:53Speaker 2: because I did it at the last moment, and so
- 6:55Speaker 2: went to the post office and dropped off the my
- 7:00Speaker 2: envelopes and because I was carrying so much stuff in
- 7:03Speaker 2: the post office to be mailed. I was holding both
- 7:07Speaker 2: of the envelopes with my teeth and there they had
- 7:12Speaker 2: teeth marks and spittle all over the envelopes. And as
- 7:17Speaker 2: the gal behind the counter took them, it was I
- 7:21Speaker 2: got a very interesting look. Just thought I share that
- 7:24Speaker 2: with you. Not that has anything to do with anything,
- 7:26Speaker 2: but you know, it's what happened yesterday.
- 7:29Speaker 4: The teeth marks are different, but the spittle is pretty
- 7:32Speaker 4: much on everything you hold. All right, this was a
- 7:40Speaker 4: strange story. It's still going as far as I know.
- 7:43Speaker 4: You tell me Amy King if things have changed, but
- 7:46Speaker 4: you have we.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Are waiting for confirmation that things have changed.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Gotcha. So you have several buildings downtown Bakersfield on lockdown,
- 7:55Speaker 4: active bomb threat, hostage situation. You even have have, you know,
- 8:00Speaker 4: out of an abundance of caution, you have the city
- 8:03Speaker 4: Hall and the police headquarters among those that are on lockdown.
- 8:08Speaker 4: You've got the FBI Department of Homeland Security out there.
- 8:12Speaker 4: And this is just an unidentified man at this point
- 8:16Speaker 4: entered the bank and barricaded himself in there with an
- 8:21Speaker 4: unknown number of people. Some I think two hostages have
- 8:27Speaker 4: been released so far from the building. Everyone else.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Now up to nine nine that have been really nine
- 8:33Speaker 6: have been released, and they're just negotiating, right, well, they
- 8:36Speaker 6: were saying that they were negotiating. And what I'm waiting
- 8:38Speaker 6: for confirmation on is that a swat team may have
- 8:42Speaker 6: gone in and got him out this morning. But he
- 8:45Speaker 6: had like a what looked like a bomb strapped to
- 8:47Speaker 6: his chest.
- 8:48Speaker 4: And it started around one pm yesterday.
- 8:51Speaker 5: So it went overnight. And we'll get confirmation on that
- 8:55Speaker 5: as soon as we can and let you know.
- 8:57Speaker 2: But hold, what was the Alpachino movie where Dog Day Afternoon,
- 9:02Speaker 2: which is exactly what happened here.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Really, that's such a Yeah, it's a great movie.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It's one of al Pacino's early films after he broke
- 9:10Speaker 2: out in The Godfather, and it was this situation exactly.
- 9:15Speaker 2: He goes in, holds a bunch of people, he's going
- 9:18Speaker 2: to rob the bank, but holds a bunch of people hostage,
- 9:21Speaker 2: and it was for his boyfriend to turn into his girlfriend,
- 9:25Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken. And this was way way back
- 9:29Speaker 2: when where the concept of trans was and the surgery
- 9:35Speaker 2: was pretty risky at that time. Okay, I thought I'd share,
- 9:39Speaker 2: Oh we can do one more. Let's do one more
- 9:41Speaker 2: before take a break.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Scott Pelly sacked. CBS News has fired Scott Pelly. So
- 9:49Speaker 6: they had a meeting and things got pretty heated. So,
- 9:55Speaker 6: of course, Scott Pelley has been working for sixty minutes forever,
- 9:58Speaker 6: and they rather new executive producer. Nick Bilton was having
- 10:03Speaker 6: a meeting and said, you know the that what's her name? Weiss?
- 10:11Speaker 5: Serious?
- 10:12Speaker 6: Yeah, CBS News editor in chief Barry Weiss loves this institution. Well,
- 10:16Speaker 6: that set Pelly off and he said, Weiss murdered sixty minutes.
- 10:22Speaker 6: He said, she does not love this place. She was
- 10:25Speaker 6: brought in to kill it and she's been doing exactly that.
- 10:28Speaker 6: And after that he was fired.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Fired, and I think he wanted to get fired.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna do that story at eight o'clock and then
- 10:38Speaker 2: throwing a personal story about sixty minutes when I was
- 10:40Speaker 2: lucky enough to have a segment of sixty minutes done
- 10:43Speaker 2: on me in the mid eighties, and I'll give you
- 10:46Speaker 2: some inside baseball about that. Yeah, it's I practiced a lot,
- 10:51Speaker 2: putting a file in front of my face and running
- 10:53Speaker 2: out in the parking lot. Yes I did, okay, bills
- 10:57Speaker 2: coming down fourhead, yes, oh yes, all.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Right, us President Donald Trump said yesterday Monday, rather that
- 11:05Speaker 4: talks with Iran were ongoing. Here's the thing. He said,
- 11:09Speaker 4: talks are continuing at a rapid pace with the Islamic
- 11:13Speaker 4: Republic about Iran. And he said this untruth social because
- 11:17Speaker 4: that's where he does most of it. And he then
- 11:21Speaker 4: went on to say that he thinks we've been doing
- 11:24Speaker 4: too much talking, and if you want to know the truth,
- 11:27Speaker 4: he thinks going silent would be very good and that
- 11:31Speaker 4: could be for a long time. Separate interview with CNBC,
- 11:37Speaker 4: Trump had said that he didn't mind if the talks
- 11:40Speaker 4: were over. I don't care if they're over. Honestly, I
- 11:42Speaker 4: could care less. Interesting tact.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Rubio's getting grilled.
- 11:50Speaker 6: The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said when he
- 11:54Speaker 6: testified before Congress that President Trump's negotiating team has not
- 11:58Speaker 6: offered Iran's sanctions relief in exchange for reopening the Strait
- 12:02Speaker 6: of Hormuz, and insisted that any sanction relief was tied
- 12:06Speaker 6: to Tehran giving up its nuclear program. He said, Iran
- 12:10Speaker 6: is being sanctioned because they have highly enriched uranium. Iran
- 12:15Speaker 6: is being sanctioned because of their nuclear activities. If they
- 12:19Speaker 6: agree to give those things up. There will be sanctioned
- 12:22Speaker 6: relief associated with that commitment and compliance to those agreements.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 12:30Speaker 2: A lot of this in the sense that it's now
- 12:33Speaker 2: come to their nuclear program and that's it. And then
- 12:38Speaker 2: opening up the Strait of Hormuz. We really don't know. Yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 2: it's a free waterway. I'm going to assume we're going
- 12:44Speaker 2: to go back to that, and then we want to
- 12:47Speaker 2: see that nuclear program reduced or given up entirely.
- 12:51Speaker 1: No more even mention.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Of supporting terrorists to organizations throughout the world that's off
- 12:57Speaker 2: the table, building their roans and ballistic missiles, those manufacturing sites,
- 13:05Speaker 2: no more mentioned to that.
- 13:06Speaker 1: That's all gone.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Wow, always about the it wasn't it always about the
- 13:12Speaker 4: nuclear weapons, and then the strait came in later, and
- 13:17Speaker 4: but that's what I thought.
- 13:19Speaker 2: No, the attack initially, the attack initially was certainly about
- 13:22Speaker 2: nuclear weapons, but it was also about the other litany
- 13:26Speaker 2: of issues that the United States wanted the support of
- 13:30Speaker 2: Risbola and other proxy terrorists organizations that was important. Regime
- 13:36Speaker 2: change was part of it, and the President of course
- 13:38Speaker 2: says we have regime change. When the senior leadership of
- 13:43Speaker 2: around was taken out, we have regime regime change. You're going,
- 13:46Speaker 2: what different regime, no different leadership. It's like if God forbid,
- 13:51Speaker 2: our president is assassinated and the vice president comes in,
- 13:56Speaker 2: that's regime change.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's not.
- 13:59Speaker 2: It's still the same sit it's just different people. And
- 14:02Speaker 2: so that was off the table, and then all of that.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Then we have then the ballistics, the manufacturing, the use
- 14:09Speaker 2: of drones, all of that was part of it.
- 14:11Speaker 1: That's all disappeared.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Now we're back simply to nuclear weapons enrichment, and we'll
- 14:19Speaker 2: see what happens with that one. Oh, in the Strait
- 14:21Speaker 2: of Hormuz is now controlled by the US, as if
- 14:25Speaker 2: the Iranians have nothing to do with closing the straight
- 14:29Speaker 2: That's weird, although at the same time, well, there's a
- 14:33Speaker 2: lot of contradictions and no surprise there.
- 14:35Speaker 1: In terms of the US.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Rubio does a pretty good job by the way of
- 14:39Speaker 2: considering he has to do what the president wants him
- 14:42Speaker 2: to do, which cabinet members must do.
- 14:44Speaker 1: They work for the president.
- 14:46Speaker 2: He's probably the most rational voice out there for the
- 14:50Speaker 2: presidency or for the administration.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Representative Jimmy Gomez, a Democrat here in Los Angeles, being
- 15:00Speaker 4: instigated by the House Ethics Committee over allegations of sexual misconduct.
- 15:05Speaker 4: So this is a report that came out yesterday. Three
- 15:09Speaker 4: unnamed sources told CNN that Gomez, being investigated by the
- 15:13Speaker 4: Committee Panels Panel, has not confirmed or commented at all
- 15:20Speaker 4: on this supposed report. Kind of goes back sometimes years ago.
- 15:25Speaker 4: He said, years ago, he made some personal mistakes outside
- 15:28Speaker 4: of his marriage and that have caused real pain to
- 15:32Speaker 4: his wife and family. Although my actions were consensual in
- 15:36Speaker 4: nature and haven't violated any law or House ethics rule.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Apparently I don't understand kissing. I don't understand aid of somebody.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I don't understand no, not his aid. I don't understand
- 15:47Speaker 2: how plutish we have become here he is he is
- 15:50Speaker 2: ostensibly kissing, maybe stooping, a staffer who works for another
- 15:55Speaker 2: congress person, of which he didn't have the ability, I
- 15:59Speaker 2: guess to make any decisions, and therefore sexual misconduct. Explain
- 16:03Speaker 2: to me what the sexual misconduct is when you have
- 16:07Speaker 2: two consenting adults, granted one of them is married or not.
- 16:11Speaker 1: How about it's nobody's business.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And for him and all these politicians to say I
- 16:16Speaker 2: made mistakes is between me and my wife, and I've
- 16:19Speaker 2: caused great harm. How about it's none of your business. Okay,
- 16:23Speaker 2: you can talk to me about my voting record. You
- 16:26Speaker 2: can talk to me if there was an issue of
- 16:28Speaker 2: a subordinate does it.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Become an ethics issue?
- 16:32Speaker 1: Uh, it's but it's beyond that.
- 16:34Speaker 2: It's sexual misconduct under any circumstances. Ethics means you can't
- 16:39Speaker 2: have sex with someone who is not your wife. Okay,
- 16:43Speaker 2: that's great us. At some point, is it ever nobody's business?
- 16:49Speaker 5: This is part of.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Their business though, because it was an aid, so it
- 16:52Speaker 6: really is. It was an aid for somebody else.
- 16:55Speaker 2: But that's right, it is amazing somebody else. That's the problem.
- 16:58Speaker 2: If it was his aid, you have an argument, gotcha,
- 17:01Speaker 2: but someone else? Come on, what if it wasn't even
- 17:04Speaker 2: an age? What if he was stopping the gal behind
- 17:07Speaker 2: the counter at a Jack in the box while he
- 17:10Speaker 2: was married? Does that come out to yike? That's like
- 17:13Speaker 2: a takshow.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Host leavin his wife for a listener.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Hello, a gender reveal party is going to cost millions.
- 17:27Speaker 6: You know that the gender reveal parties are so popular,
- 17:30Speaker 6: But this one went tragically wrong. It sparked a major
- 17:34Speaker 6: wildfire that led to the death of a firefighter three
- 17:38Speaker 6: companies have now agreed to pay more than four million
- 17:40Speaker 6: dollars for their role in the fire. It happened in
- 17:46Speaker 6: U Kuipa, part in a park in U Kaipa, And
- 17:49Speaker 6: if you'll remember, it was in twenty twenty and a
- 17:51Speaker 6: couple used a pyrotechnic that was supposed to put out
- 17:54Speaker 6: either blue or pink smoke, but the device ended up
- 17:58Speaker 6: setting off the El Dorado fire that burned nearly twenty
- 18:01Speaker 6: three thousand acres, damaged or destroyed nine buildings, and killed
- 18:06Speaker 6: us for a service wildland firefighter.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Yikes, yikes? How many of these has there been? Though?
- 18:13Speaker 4: There's been explosions, there's been fires, there's been can't you.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Just cut the cake in it's either blue or pink inside?
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah? You know, it's interesting with these people.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I mean, I mean it's almost like, guess what, you know,
- 18:26Speaker 2: you're that stupid?
- 18:27Speaker 1: Okay, then do it.
- 18:28Speaker 2: It's like kids who the fireworks and they blow their
- 18:31Speaker 2: hands off. Oh my god, that's horrible. That's horrible. You
- 18:34Speaker 2: know what, you got to take some responsibility for this too.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Now they're arguing a lawsuit because it blew up or
- 18:40Speaker 2: it shouldn't have, and the city because it allowed it.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I just want some responsibility there and it never happens,
- 18:48Speaker 2: all right.
- 18:49Speaker 4: I saw this come over the wire yesterday. Sad legendary
- 18:52Speaker 4: singer songwriter pbo bryce And has died. He was seventy five,
- 18:58Speaker 4: which seems young by today's standards.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Yeah, no kidding, was something something went on wrong? Obviously?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Yeah he had he had a stroke and just yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 1: that comes out of the blue.
- 19:08Speaker 5: What a voice though?
- 19:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, no one, I didn't know his name.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I don't know, No, I know, I didn't know his name.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I didn't know who people was or Piabo. I didn't
- 19:19Speaker 2: know his name. But as soon as you talk about
- 19:20Speaker 2: his voice and what he's saying, Beauty and the Beast,
- 19:23Speaker 2: it's a whole new world, all of these R and
- 19:26Speaker 2: B classics, you instantly obviously know who he was. But anyway,
- 19:33Speaker 2: it's uh man, what a talent.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, what a talent.
- 19:38Speaker 6: Speaking of talent, as if Garth Brooks didn't have enough
- 19:41Speaker 6: money already, he said years and years ago that he
- 19:45Speaker 6: had more money than his children's children's children's children could
- 19:48Speaker 6: ever spend. Well, now he is considering a sale of
- 19:52Speaker 6: his catalog. About two billion dollars is what he's looking for.
- 19:57Speaker 6: To get the rights to his songs and recordings. It
- 19:59Speaker 6: would be among the largest deals for an individual artist
- 20:03Speaker 6: or group catalog. He's been looking at doing this for
- 20:07Speaker 6: a few years. Recently told some investors he's one of
- 20:10Speaker 6: the few artists of his level of fame who has
- 20:12Speaker 6: not sold and is considering it. Of course, he's behind
- 20:16Speaker 6: Friends in Low Places, Shameless, the Dance and tons more songs.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Yeah, when you look at the numbers, I mean, this
- 20:23Speaker 2: is astronomical, more than why he's asking more than two billion,
- 20:27Speaker 2: but they figure that, well, you put it this way,
- 20:30Speaker 2: was it? Queen's catalog sold for more than a billion
- 20:33Speaker 2: dollars in twenty twenty four, And I think Queen would
- 20:38Speaker 2: be worth more because the music goes across a large
- 20:43Speaker 2: segment that maybe Garth Brooks doesn't. I mean, it's basically
- 20:47Speaker 2: country music. And do you if you remember that the
- 20:50Speaker 2: Beatles publishing and ownership of their rights for the early Beatles,
- 20:57Speaker 2: they were selling half of it for seventy five million
- 21:01Speaker 2: dollars and Michael Jackson bought that that half for seventy
- 21:06Speaker 2: five million dollars.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Paul McCartney bit on it.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And he thought seventy five million dollars was too much,
- 21:12Speaker 2: and McCartney rude the day. He said, oh my god,
- 21:15Speaker 2: and I think he ended up buying the last half.
- 21:19Speaker 4: So what does that mean. It just gives them the
- 21:21Speaker 4: rights to.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they own the song. Yeah, they just owned the song.
- 21:23Speaker 2: They own the publishing. For example, when you hear a
- 21:25Speaker 2: commercial with an old song that goes to the publisher.
- 21:31Speaker 2: When on radio, when you hear any one of these
- 21:35Speaker 2: songs played, I mean, when's the last time you heard
- 21:39Speaker 2: a major song not being played on radio stations? I
- 21:42Speaker 2: mean I listened to the song as an easy listening
- 21:44Speaker 2: station and I hear basically the same song over and
- 21:46Speaker 2: over again Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel. So it's two
- 21:52Speaker 2: billion dollars. I mean that is completely insane. Oh a
- 21:56Speaker 2: quick word. I was talking this story came out. I
- 21:58Speaker 2: was talking to Lindsay, who is a Garth Brooks fan.
- 22:01Speaker 2: She went to a Garth Brooks concert. He was four
- 22:03Speaker 2: hours late. Four hours.
- 22:06Speaker 6: I thought you were going to say he played for
- 22:08Speaker 6: four hours.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I've seen him twice and he played for three hours.
- 22:13Speaker 5: He wasn't late when I saw him, But that was
- 22:15Speaker 5: way and then that was back in the nineties.
- 22:16Speaker 2: That's what she said, and he has a he's notorious
- 22:19Speaker 2: for being late. From what I understand, I'm telling you
- 22:23Speaker 2: maybe Lindsay made it up.
- 22:25Speaker 5: Lindsay quit making stuff up.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah she made She makes up a lot of stuff.
- 22:28Speaker 2: To be honest with you, just to assuage my guilt
- 22:32Speaker 2: and feelings.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Although you know there are people that show up.
- 22:36Speaker 6: Late, there are he does put on a fabulous, fast, fabulous.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Everybody everybody today puts on three hours with no opening acts.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Do you know when the Beatles first came out and
- 22:47Speaker 2: you would go to or anybody would go to a
- 22:48Speaker 2: Beatles concept concert? You know how long those concerts were?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Ten minutes, now, thirty minutes, twenty seriously, twenty.
- 22:56Speaker 1: To thirty minutes.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Wow, that's funny.
- 22:57Speaker 1: That was it. They come out.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I saw McCartney. He did at least three hours.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, he was. He was absolutely wonderful.
- 23:07Speaker 2: One of my great regrets in my life is going
- 23:10Speaker 2: to see the not going to see the Beatles when
- 23:13Speaker 2: prices were actually reasonable. I should have gone to I
- 23:17Speaker 2: think they did Dodger Stadium. I know they did Hollywood Bowl. Anyway,
- 23:21Speaker 2: moving on.
- 23:23Speaker 4: All right, out back the steakhouse. We all know and
- 23:27Speaker 4: love a Virginia woman is seeking one point five million
- 23:30Speaker 4: dollars for what being hitting in the face with a
- 23:34Speaker 4: hot bluemin onion. Nope, she slipped on mashed potatoes, fell
- 23:39Speaker 4: faith first. That sounds horrible, Uh, but you know she's
- 23:44Speaker 4: saying that she has, you know, all kinds of lasting
- 23:50Speaker 4: issues and.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah, no, she fell straight on her on her face.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I can understand there's some you can do some big damage.
- 23:57Speaker 2: But here is a legal aspect of this. She is
- 24:00Speaker 2: suing the steakhouse out back for negligence because the mashed
- 24:05Speaker 2: potatoes were on the floor and she's arguing that they
- 24:08Speaker 2: should have known and should have cleaned it up. And
- 24:10Speaker 2: they're going to argue, it just happened beforehand. What did
- 24:13Speaker 2: we do that is negligent? We weren't told. It just
- 24:16Speaker 2: happened before. Let's going into a supermarket. I slipped on
- 24:19Speaker 2: a banana peel. You should have known, well the banana
- 24:22Speaker 2: peel was, it was ten minutes ago.
- 24:24Speaker 1: What do you want me to do?
- 24:25Speaker 2: Now? There's an argument that there should be someone walking
- 24:29Speaker 2: around looking at what could cause a slip. It's a
- 24:33Speaker 2: better argument against a restaurant. But again they're saying, you
- 24:38Speaker 2: know what, someone's build their mashed potatoes.
- 24:41Speaker 1: That's all.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Wait, here's the weird thing. Would it be in the
- 24:44Speaker 4: location it was apparently by a bathroom.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Is that a server that spilled it? Or is that
- 24:50Speaker 2: it doesn't matter? I don't think it matters on that one.
- 24:53Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It was the fact that the mashed
- 24:54Speaker 2: potatoes were on the ground. Also, I think the restaurant
- 24:57Speaker 2: has a big, big problem when it's going to them
- 25:00Speaker 2: out that when the order was taken and she was asked,
- 25:04Speaker 2: do you want your mashed potatoes on the floor or
- 25:06Speaker 2: on your plate?
- 25:07Speaker 4: Therein lies the rub okay.
- 25:11Speaker 6: Scrapping the fund. Acting Attorney General Todd blanche says the
- 25:16Speaker 6: Trump administration is scrapping plans to create the one point
- 25:21Speaker 6: seven seven six billion dollar fund to compensate people who
- 25:26Speaker 6: they say were targeted by the Biden administration. It's that
- 25:29Speaker 6: anti weaponization fund that everybody had a fit about.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yeah, this avoid of the Trump administration missed the boat
- 25:37Speaker 2: on that one, underestimating the pushback that.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I mean everybody.
- 25:44Speaker 2: There were a few congress people and senators who would
- 25:48Speaker 2: have backed it up, but the leadership but just said
- 25:50Speaker 2: you can't do that. I mean, you cannot leave open
- 25:54Speaker 2: paying people who overran our capital and tried to an election,
- 26:01Speaker 2: and that was just a bridge too far in the
- 26:05Speaker 2: red sand.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Never mind, you know what's worse than paying them out
- 26:13Speaker 4: of a slush fund, hiring them as an employee and
- 26:20Speaker 4: paying them every two weeks. So the Trump administration has
- 26:24Speaker 4: hired a convicted January sixth rioter to work at the
- 26:29Speaker 4: Pentagon's office that oversees sensitive special operations and what they
- 26:33Speaker 4: referred to as a regular warfare matters. Elias Irizari is
- 26:41Speaker 4: what I'm going with. He was nineteen at the time
- 26:43Speaker 4: when he participated in the attack, and actually he pleaded
- 26:46Speaker 4: guilty to entering in remaining in a restricted building or grounds,
- 26:51Speaker 4: was sentenced to fourteen days in prison.
- 26:53Speaker 2: But now he got a job at the Pentagon and
- 26:57Speaker 2: he apologized. So how does this happen? Oh, it's real simple.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Keep in mind, the underlying premise is that every one
- 27:04Speaker 2: of those people who was prosecuted or accused or went
- 27:09Speaker 2: to jail of overrunning the capitol and causing harm and
- 27:13Speaker 2: you attacking police officer, they were all patriots, right, every
- 27:17Speaker 2: one of them were patriots, and they were held hostile.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Was accused of any of that.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Okay, now, hold on hold on, no, no, no, I
- 27:24Speaker 2: want to go to a point. And so this is
- 27:27Speaker 2: akin to hiring a veteran that you give a veteran precedence,
- 27:33Speaker 2: you give extra points to a veteran whenever hiring in government.
- 27:37Speaker 1: And this is it.
- 27:38Speaker 2: If you were one of the January sixth defendants, you are,
- 27:42Speaker 2: you should get more, You should get more consideration than
- 27:46Speaker 2: someone who is not, because look at this, you were.
- 27:50Speaker 2: You were a hero, a patriot trying to undo an
- 27:53Speaker 2: unconstitutional rigged election. That's the craziness here, that's the craziness.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I mean, I where do you go with this?
- 28:01Speaker 2: But the good news is they shut it down. Todd Blanche,
- 28:04Speaker 2: Oh they're still defending it. By the way, Todd Blanche is.
- 28:07Speaker 2: No one is saying in the administration, Okay, maybe we overstepped.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Maybe not.
- 28:12Speaker 2: He said, oh there was there was a weaponization, but
- 28:18Speaker 2: we're not going forward. Why because we're not going forward.
- 28:21Speaker 2: That's why.
- 28:26Speaker 6: George Santos, remember he he got himself in little trouble.
- 28:30Speaker 6: He was former US representative. Well, he has been betting
- 28:35Speaker 6: on himself, apparently prediction marks prediction market Calci reported Santos
- 28:41Speaker 6: to federal prosecutors after he boasted that he would be
- 28:45Speaker 6: going to President Trump's State of the Union address and
- 28:48Speaker 6: then he bet against his own attendance.
- 28:52Speaker 1: And he didn't show up.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Imagine that.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Imagine yeah, of course he did. Now what I find
- 28:58Speaker 2: interesting is he's even talking to prosecutors. These are federal prosecutors.
- 29:04Speaker 2: This is a guy who was pardoned by the president,
- 29:07Speaker 2: and why would they even go forward? For example, Tom Homan,
- 29:11Speaker 2: who is the immigration Zar. They have video of him
- 29:16Speaker 2: with cash being handed over video and Pam Bondi, the
- 29:21Speaker 2: Eternal General, has asked about that. She says, We've done
- 29:23Speaker 2: the investigation and there is no evidence there. So when
- 29:28Speaker 2: you're on the side of the administration, what's going to happen?
- 29:31Speaker 2: He was pardoned by the president for his craziness when
- 29:36Speaker 2: he ran for office, and he lied through his teeth
- 29:38Speaker 2: about that that what he was just a bogus total
- 29:43Speaker 2: bogus resume. All right, I think we have time for
- 29:46Speaker 2: one more and this is good news. And Amy is
- 29:49Speaker 2: really excited about. Let Amy do this one because this
- 29:52Speaker 2: is an Amy topic.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Okay, they're animals, Amy.
- 29:55Speaker 5: I know, I'm just aftah.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Depending on our audience their dinner. Okay, moving on, Amy,
- 30:02Speaker 2: why don't you give us the good news.
- 30:03Speaker 6: Okay, The Great Beagle Rescue of Wisconsin continues as animal
- 30:08Speaker 6: rights groups say they plan to remove more dogs from
- 30:11Speaker 6: a medical research facility. It's called Ridgeland Farms. They agreed
- 30:17Speaker 6: to allow animal rights groups to remove one hundred and
- 30:20Speaker 6: thirty five beagles from the facility, on top of the
- 30:23Speaker 6: fifteen hundred dogs that have already been removed and relocated.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not that they were treated poorly. I don't
- 30:31Speaker 2: think that's the accusation. It's just that the emimeral medical
- 30:34Speaker 2: research place.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and that is well.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Again, keep in mind, I'm going to give you the
- 30:38Speaker 2: other side of the coin on this one, because when
- 30:40Speaker 2: you look at these things, they are these beagles are
- 30:43Speaker 2: so adorable being held up and hugging and I mean
- 30:47Speaker 2: just you love it. You love this story and it's
- 30:50Speaker 2: being covered all over the place. But when new drugs
- 30:54Speaker 2: come out to save human beings, they have to go
- 30:58Speaker 2: the pharmaceutical companies have to go through animal testing. And
- 31:02Speaker 2: do you not now, and no one cares about mice.
- 31:05Speaker 2: You can kill all the mice you want, but when
- 31:07Speaker 2: it comes to animal testing with these beagles, I.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Don't know what happens. And they kill them.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Afterwards, and I sometimes yeah, and I don't know the answer,
- 31:17Speaker 2: but when you look at how utterly cute and you go,
- 31:20Speaker 2: how can you do this?
- 31:21Speaker 6: Well?
- 31:22Speaker 3: And you know why they they use beagles, right because
- 31:26Speaker 3: beagles they don't fight back, Like beagles are the calmest
- 31:31Speaker 3: dogs and they can do almost anything to them and
- 31:34Speaker 3: they don't fight back.
- 31:35Speaker 5: That's okay, I would you will?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeahs yeah, yeah, I'm never eating at a Korean restaurant again. Okay,
- 31:44Speaker 2: we are done. Coming up the election recap, We'll do
- 31:50Speaker 2: that right here. Kf I A M.
