Canes Lock In Rising Finnish Defenseman | Carolina Hurricanes News
The Hurricanes just inked promising young defenseman Aleksi Heimosalmi to a one-year, two-way deal for 2026-27, betting big on his continued growth. After a breakout AHL season with 17 points and playoff runs, Heimosalmi’s steady offensive development and international pedigree—including Best Defenseman at the U18 Worlds—make him a key piece in Carolina’s defensive future.
