- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you are listening to the voice, come on,
- 0:09Speaker 2: dig me?
- 0:09Speaker 1: Now what and only Steve Harvey got a radio show? Man?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Oh man, oh man? How good is God to me?
- 0:17Speaker 2: And part of the mission and the reason that I
- 0:20Speaker 2: have a radio show is to is to become a
- 0:23Speaker 2: share of more and more of a share of you know,
- 0:28Speaker 2: I just to hear my mother say it to me
- 0:29Speaker 2: all the time. But God blesses you to become a blessing.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And I think the more you understand that about yourself,
- 0:35Speaker 2: I think the more blessings will flow your way. I
- 0:38Speaker 2: think that once you understand the principle.
- 0:41Speaker 1: That you know. But it's kind of tied together with
- 0:45Speaker 1: some other.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Scriptures, and I'm not too knowledgeable about them, of course,
- 0:49Speaker 2: as usual, but I do know what I've heard you know,
- 0:53Speaker 2: And you know, if you look at something simple as
- 0:55Speaker 2: do unto others as you would have them do unto you,
- 1:00Speaker 2: you want somebody to help you if you needed help.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I just know how to get it down there to
- 1:05Speaker 2: where I've been able to understand it. If there's a
- 1:10Speaker 2: scripture similar that it says do unto others as you
- 1:13Speaker 2: would have them do unto you, or if that's you know,
- 1:18Speaker 2: in a prayer, would not you want somebody to help
- 1:23Speaker 2: you if you needed help? You've heard you reap what
- 1:29Speaker 2: you sow. Do you understand that if you so discord,
- 1:34Speaker 2: that discord is gonna come your way. That if you hate,
- 1:39Speaker 2: hate gonna come your way. If you blog nothing but
- 1:43Speaker 2: negative comments about people, your life will be filled with negativity.
- 1:48Speaker 2: If all you do is talk about people, then guess
- 1:50Speaker 2: what somebody got to turn that gun around and talk
- 1:53Speaker 2: about you. See, it just stands to reason. So what
- 1:58Speaker 2: I've learned in my life and through all the trials
- 2:02Speaker 2: and tribulations that I've had, is to take those lessons
- 2:06Speaker 2: and share them with people in case you ain't heard
- 2:09Speaker 2: it from somebody else. See sometimes, and the reason it
- 2:13Speaker 2: seems like I'm redundant at times is what I am
- 2:17Speaker 2: is because I'm always trying to find a different way
- 2:20Speaker 2: to say the same thing. Because it's a funny thing. Man,
- 2:24Speaker 2: You got to hear it a certain way for it
- 2:26Speaker 2: to click with you. How many times have I heard
- 2:32Speaker 2: a saying and then I heard it a different way
- 2:36Speaker 2: that it clicked with me. You know, I've heard this
- 2:41Speaker 2: saying right here. Remember this, Now, everybody's not happy for you.
- 2:45Speaker 2: We've all heard that, right, everybody's not happy for you. Well,
- 2:50Speaker 2: that's very simple. I don't need no explanation. That simply
- 2:54Speaker 2: means of all the people you know or do not know,
- 2:58Speaker 2: when something happens to you and you celebrating it, everybody
- 3:02Speaker 2: not gonna join in on the celebration. That's all that is.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But then you take it one step further. My father
- 3:09Speaker 2: used to say something to me all the time. He said, son,
- 3:12Speaker 2: everybody come with you, can't go with you. I didn't
- 3:15Speaker 2: get that when I was fifteen. Everybody come with you,
- 3:17Speaker 2: can't go with you. He said, you're gonna lose some
- 3:19Speaker 2: of these friends you got along the way. But I
- 3:22Speaker 2: don't care where you get in life. Know this right here,
- 3:27Speaker 2: everybody can't go with you. If you are constantly trying
- 3:30Speaker 2: to improve yourself, you constantly have to take assessment of
- 3:33Speaker 2: the people around you. Because if you are going to
- 3:37Speaker 2: continue to go and continue to grow, then guess what
- 3:40Speaker 2: you got to have people that's on the go and
- 3:43Speaker 2: willing to grow, or else, guess what you're gonna learn
- 3:49Speaker 2: the valuable lesson you know. The late boxing promoter Butch Lewis,
- 3:53Speaker 2: I was talking with Butcher Lewis one time and man
- 3:56Speaker 2: with a good brother.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Man.
- 3:58Speaker 2: He say, every successful man, it's doing what I call
- 4:02Speaker 2: he got rope work to do. He got rope work
- 4:05Speaker 2: to do. He got to put in work on rope.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And I'm sitting there listening to Butch Lewis and all
- 4:12Speaker 2: the money he had made and all the people's lives
- 4:14Speaker 2: he had changed, and all of the moves he was making.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And he's an incredible skills as a negotiator on behalf
- 4:20Speaker 2: of some very very wealthy people. He was just an
- 4:23Speaker 2: amazing man with no education, but he read everything. He
- 4:27Speaker 2: Butch Lewis read all the papers, all the periodicals. That
- 4:31Speaker 2: brother knew everything. He said, you got to put in rope.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And I was sitting there listening. He said, here's the analogy,
- 4:38Speaker 2: little brother. He said, you are on rope. There's a
- 4:41Speaker 2: thick rope. You have on no shirt, you have on
- 4:45Speaker 2: some tattered clothes. You have on no shoes. Your shorts
- 4:50Speaker 2: is cut off just below the knee, and they tatted,
- 4:53Speaker 2: and you got dirt on you and your sweating. There's
- 4:55Speaker 2: this huge, huge raw rope over your shoulder. There's burn
- 5:00Speaker 2: marks on all of your shoulder connected to that rope
- 5:04Speaker 2: is a wagon. That wagon has all your weight on it,
- 5:09Speaker 2: all your responsibilities, all the people you're responsible for, all
- 5:13Speaker 2: your children, your wife, your family members, your employees, your coworkers,
- 5:19Speaker 2: your friends. They are all on that wagon. Man, They
- 5:23Speaker 2: just sitting there. He's saying, what you gotta do is
- 5:26Speaker 2: you gotta pull that wagon.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Up the heel.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Now. The only thing with it is can't nobody help
- 5:31Speaker 2: you pull your wagon?
- 5:33Speaker 1: You pull your wagon alone. He say.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Now, what you can do along the way of pulling
- 5:38Speaker 2: your wagon is you can find yourself a good wife,
- 5:41Speaker 2: a good woman.
- 5:42Speaker 1: He say.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Now, what that woman does is she get down off
- 5:45Speaker 2: the wagon. She fan you while you pull it. She
- 5:48Speaker 2: put water on you while you pull it. She puts
- 5:51Speaker 2: stuff in your mouth while you pull it. She kicked
- 5:53Speaker 2: rocks out the way while you pull it. But she
- 5:56Speaker 2: but she pull it for you. But she is equally
- 5:59Speaker 2: as important as you are on the pull of the rope.
- 6:02Speaker 2: He say, you hear me clearly, now, young soldier. He said, nah,
- 6:05Speaker 2: I got this here. He says, people on your wagon
- 6:08Speaker 2: that you're responsible for. But you want the people on
- 6:11Speaker 2: your wagon to help you get your wagon to the top.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So what you hope is that they got their foot
- 6:17Speaker 2: hanging over the side pushing. They got one leg over
- 6:21Speaker 2: the back, or maybe both legs over the back pushing.
- 6:24Speaker 2: They got they might have their butt on the wagon,
- 6:27Speaker 2: but they push you with both legs. They back facing
- 6:29Speaker 2: your back, maybe some of them facing you when one
- 6:32Speaker 2: of them got left leg hanging over trying to push.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And you hope that all them people on the wagon
- 6:37Speaker 2: you pulling is back there at least trying to help
- 6:40Speaker 2: the wagon get to the top of the hill.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Here go your problem.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Though everybody ain't pushing, Everybody ain't pulling, ain't everybody ain't pulling,
- 6:49Speaker 2: Everybody ain't kicking.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Rocks out the way.
- 6:51Speaker 2: You got some people on your wagon that's just laying
- 6:53Speaker 2: on the wagon, drinking lemonade, looking at you, talking about
- 6:58Speaker 2: how long it's taking you to get your wagging up
- 7:00Speaker 2: to the top, looking at you talking about why this
- 7:03Speaker 2: wagon is so slow. Then when you start picking up
- 7:06Speaker 2: picking up speed, they want you to pull harder, you
- 7:09Speaker 2: to pull faster, you to pull more. Then they want
- 7:12Speaker 2: you to throw what you then earned on the way
- 7:14Speaker 2: up the hill, backed on the wagon so they can
- 7:17Speaker 2: have mo But guess what, they ain't helping you get more.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But They got a sense of entitlement that since you
- 7:22Speaker 2: got MO, they should have MO.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Everybody come with you can't go with you.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Sometimes you gotta kick the people off the wagon that
- 7:30Speaker 2: ain't pushing and pulling and say, hey, man, I'm sorry.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I thought I could do this with you, and I
- 7:35Speaker 2: thought you was going with me. But it's clear to
- 7:38Speaker 2: me you ain't nothing but dead weight, and it ain't
- 7:40Speaker 2: my responsibility to carry dead weight anymore. I have carried
- 7:44Speaker 2: you as long as I have to carry you. You
- 7:46Speaker 2: are no longer my responsibility. I'm responsible for my family,
- 7:51Speaker 2: my wife, my children. I'm not responsible for you. You got
- 7:54Speaker 2: to get off my wagon because I'm a man on rope.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'm on a mission. Baby, I'm pulling here. List me.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's Steve Harvey Morning Show.
