- 1:12together, going to build a potential, a world future full
- 1:15of awesome opportunities for us to take individuals.
- 1:17I want you to be there on my side, helping me bring this to
- 1:20fruition. It's going to be amazing.
- 1:21You guys are awesome. Let's get stuck in right now,
- 1:24Guys, Aspergers and girls. Aspergers is a term that we
- 1:27don't really use anymore. We use kind of like lower
- 1:29support needs autism spectrum disorder.
- 1:31It's a bit of a whirlwinded way of saying it, but the reasons
- 1:34for this. However, we're here to talk
- 1:36about the role of therapy in helping autism, right?
- 1:39So The thing is, you can't cure autism.
- 1:41Autism is a incurable neurological developmental
- 1:43condition, but you can treat symptomatic issues of autism
- 1:47right? So one of the things I would say
- 1:49is therapy is the best way to do this.
- 1:51I do take medication and I have therapy now.
- 1:54I've had all kinds of therapy from in person counseling to
- 1:57digital counseling over my using my iPhone with an app called
- 2:00Better Help, which FYI guys, I actually recommend.
- 2:03So if you are interested in checking out using an app to you
- 2:06know as your therapist you can talk on video or voice call or
- 2:10you can just text them better help is amazing because within
- 2:1324 to 48 hours they hooked me up with a specialist in autism and
- 2:16ADHD because you put new credentials is absolutely
- 2:19amazing and I did from the comfort of my own home.
- 2:20I was actually sat in bed at one point so it's amazing.
- 2:22I definitely recommend it. So check them out below.
- 2:24However, I've done all types of stuff occupational therapy all
- 2:27down to like intensive kind of like counseling.
- 2:29What I would say is that therapy is the quickest way for self
- 2:33realization and self knowingness, and when you have a
- 2:36therapist that works on things that are specific to you as a
- 2:40person, nothing compounds to it. You can take a medication which
- 2:44will take off some kind of issues and maybe take the edge
- 2:47off certain things like anxiety and depression and stuff like
- 2:49that. But when you say I have a
- 2:50problem in this area of my life, I need, you know, specific help
- 2:54in this one area. And a therapist says, hey, I can
- 2:57help you in that one area. You win every time.
- 3:00It's kind of like the golden ticket to realizing that one
- 3:03thing. So I actually work one-on-one
- 3:05with a lot of clients. I do coaching, so I coach people
- 3:07who, you know, so say you wanted to reach out to me now and know
- 3:10more about certain things. You'd e-mail me and say, Dan, I
- 3:12want to, you know, do coaching and I'd send you my coaching
- 3:14link and you book in and I work on a specific thing.
- 3:17Say you said to me, oh, I'm having a difficult time in the
- 3:20relationship with my partner, my spouse, and we work on those
- 3:23issues. So therapy actually has a very
- 3:25important role and actually has one of the most important roles.
- 3:28Yet. I think it's the least thought
- 3:30about thing when people think about autism.
- 3:32Because when you go online and you look for stuff and you read
- 3:34about things, reading and looking is one thing.
- 3:36But when you're actively getting tactile feedback, when you're
- 3:39sitting with somebody, when you're when you're trying stuff,
- 3:41when you're when you're getting told to do protocol and
- 3:43practices and you follow them through, you actually win every
- 3:46time you do that because practice makes progress and you
- 3:48win every time. Now, guys, I have a free Autism
- 3:51Wife has a PDF book at autismhacks.net that you can get
- 3:54right now. And if you have anything to add
- 3:55this video, pop in a comment and read every single one and share
- 3:57this video if you think somebody can benefit.
- 3:59All right, guys, I'll see you in the next one.
