- 0:53Speaker 2: It's like you've had to blow up a little bit.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I've put Joe in my hair? Did you not? During
- 0:58Speaker 3: the break it was already like I was doing this
- 1:02Speaker 3: like every eight seconds on Wednesday through Friday last week,
- 1:05Speaker 3: and I was like.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Well, you got to sort of work out this morning
- 1:08Speaker 2: and you did your hair?
- 1:10Speaker 3: What such a jerk? I got up and went, that's
- 1:17Speaker 3: what matters.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Right, I am?
- 1:18Speaker 5: Where what are we talking about? I tuned y'all out
- 1:20Speaker 5: for like, per that's what I do?
- 1:25Speaker 3: What doing that? We're going to talk actual l s
- 1:28Speaker 3: U sports?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah we are. So we're going to start with a.
- 1:32Speaker 3: The first my workout, so this morning, tell us where
- 1:36Speaker 3: we're going.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Man, I flipped a fake tire.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Congratulations to l s U. L s U Baseball.
- 1:46Speaker 4: You out recruited a random junior college.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Do not do that and sell it?
- 1:53Speaker 2: I didn't. This is huge recruited junior college.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Crushed it, crushed it?
- 1:59Speaker 2: What you do not like that?
- 2:01Speaker 3: It feels like you're saying it in you didn't like.
- 2:03Speaker 2: That statement at all? Like it? Why not?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Don't sleep on JUCO bro.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I mean, why not? Apparently doesn't even count towards your eligibility.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Dude, No, it does not, and also it probably shouldn't
- 2:17Speaker 3: those classes that you go.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, the wait is over, folks, LSU baseball.
- 2:22Speaker 4: You get your guy Logan decides to not go to
- 2:25Speaker 4: junior college and comes LSU. So we got him for
- 2:29Speaker 4: not one year, not two years young, but three three
- 2:34Speaker 4: year years.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 4: If you like awesome pictures that get drafted the second
- 2:38Speaker 4: round out of high school, you like lefties that are
- 2:41Speaker 4: six four two fifteen as seniors in high school with
- 2:43Speaker 4: a laser rocket arm.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Do you like that kind of deal?
- 2:46Speaker 3: Turned eighteen ten days ago?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Did he really? Yeah? Wow?
- 2:49Speaker 3: So like this is not like a Derek Caurrial thing
- 2:51Speaker 3: where you get like, you know.
- 2:53Speaker 2: He his babyface, he's got kind of like evil villain
- 2:56Speaker 2: eyebrows too. I like that.
- 2:59Speaker 5: There's our our little art.
- 3:00Speaker 3: I do like that are drawn on They're pretty hard.
- 3:03Speaker 3: This is my graphic and I actually chatch you bet
- 3:05Speaker 3: to his eyebrows.
- 3:07Speaker 2: No, no, what he did this graphic. This is the
- 3:09Speaker 2: one you made.
- 3:10Speaker 5: This is the l one.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It looks good. Their graphics are awesome.
- 3:14Speaker 4: So with his commitment, means at LSU will have the
- 3:17Speaker 4: top ranked freshman class according to D one Baseball, according
- 3:21Speaker 4: to Baseball America, according to Common Sense.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Seven top one hundred players. But this kid specifically, and
- 3:29Speaker 3: I'm meant to send you guys this text this weekend
- 3:32Speaker 3: about I don't know why I'm doing all this, but
- 3:34Speaker 3: it was. It was about my actional man. Come on now,
- 3:40Speaker 3: So anytime you have a left he throwing ninety seven
- 3:43Speaker 3: miles an hour. That's a lead, right. Uh, the number
- 3:45Speaker 3: twelve overall player in this year's class. He was drafted
- 3:48Speaker 3: fifty ninth overall. We talked about that last week. But
- 3:51Speaker 3: six four two ten right now, that's what he's listed
- 3:54Speaker 3: at going into his senior year, already throwing ninety four
- 3:56Speaker 3: to ninety seven consistently. Uh, pretty good slide, a pretty
- 4:00Speaker 3: good change has commanded four pitches, and they're all ranked
- 4:02Speaker 3: fifty or above on that eighty. You know, for like
- 4:04Speaker 3: Major League Baseball, the draft scale goes to eighty, all
- 4:07Speaker 3: between fifty and fifty five already on that still very young.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I mean, you think about what you can put into
- 4:12Speaker 3: that frame. It's six four, two ten right now. He
- 4:15Speaker 3: can easily get to two thirty before next season, if
- 4:18Speaker 3: that's what he wants to be at right you know,
- 4:19Speaker 3: throughout your lower body. And somebody put out a list
- 4:23Speaker 3: of players this week, and I apologize for not remembering
- 4:25Speaker 3: who it was to give him credit. And it was like,
- 4:29Speaker 3: like to put in perspective where he is ranked out
- 4:32Speaker 3: of high school and it's a twelve overall prospect. It's
- 4:34Speaker 3: up there with Derek Carriel, it's up there with Dylan Cruz,
- 4:37Speaker 3: and it's up there with one more player, all of
- 4:39Speaker 3: them very elite prospects, all of them drafted very high.
- 4:42Speaker 3: That's who this kid is going, who the two he is. Listen,
- 4:46Speaker 3: you don't hit on all of them. It doesn't mean
- 4:48Speaker 3: they're all going to pan out. But you signed seven
- 4:50Speaker 3: top one hundred players and they all got to campus.
- 4:54Speaker 3: That is I've never seen anything like that. That is.
- 4:59Speaker 3: I mean, I didn't know the pick up them.
- 5:00Speaker 2: We're drafted, right, I don't know.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I think I don't know if Malachi was or not.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Yeah he was eighteen eighteenth.
- 5:06Speaker 6: Round yeah, no, eighteenth, No, he wasn't eighteen.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I think there was. There were a couple that went
- 5:14Speaker 3: late and they all decidedly that too. But either way,
- 5:20Speaker 3: getting all of them to campus, yeah, I mean, this
- 5:23Speaker 3: is I mean what it's pale brother a lot up
- 5:25Speaker 3: the Dodgers for fall games. I mean, at this point,
- 5:29Speaker 3: that is crazy.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, welcome to you know, in il world.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I guess is this would never obviously be possible. We
- 5:36Speaker 4: all know that we're preaching to the choir on this,
- 5:38Speaker 4: but obviously never possible five, ten, fifteen. However, many years
- 5:42Speaker 4: ago until now, is anybody shocked here that he so
- 5:48Speaker 4: the reason why he didn't sign because he got drafted
- 5:50Speaker 4: in the second round was because of the discrepancies between
- 5:53Speaker 4: what he was looking for and what they could pay
- 5:55Speaker 4: him as his bonus and in his contract. So like,
- 5:58Speaker 4: is anybody surprised that he didn't choose the Juco rope?
- 6:02Speaker 3: A couple of non ball knowers not on this show,
- 6:04Speaker 3: Alandra called.
- 6:05Speaker 5: It, Yes, I don't know if I like straight up
- 6:08Speaker 5: was like, I don't know.
- 6:09Speaker 6: I gave you reasons for why I feel like he
- 6:12Speaker 6: might make the decision to come here, and I thought
- 6:15Speaker 6: that they were valid reasons. And in my head, like
- 6:17Speaker 6: if you're going fifty ninth overall and you're turning down money,
- 6:23Speaker 6: I didn't like, I don't know. It just didn't make
- 6:26Speaker 6: it makes sense to go to Juco because of the
- 6:28Speaker 6: one year thing. I think people are focusing on that
- 6:30Speaker 6: so much. But you're not passing up on the MLB
- 6:35Speaker 6: for one year, right, not in this current climate that
- 6:38Speaker 6: baseball is in.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Like, I don't know, I.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Don't know what his NIL package would be. I don't know,
- 6:45Speaker 3: Like I just I don't.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Know what's possible in baseball.
- 6:48Speaker 3: That was just gonna say, I'm very ignorant to what
- 6:51Speaker 3: the totals could be. We know that Milam got a million,
- 6:54Speaker 3: and I don't know what else, Like like like I
- 6:56Speaker 3: don't know what Bino Waters is worth as like the
- 7:00Speaker 3: number one prospect in the portal, but you've got three
- 7:02Speaker 3: out of the top five players in the portal. That's
- 7:05Speaker 3: not including Cameron Fluki, who's like added in there even
- 7:07Speaker 3: though he's gonna be a first round pick. Yeah, basically
- 7:09Speaker 3: three out of the top five. What I let me
- 7:11Speaker 3: like nerd out for a second about what I love
- 7:12Speaker 3: most about.
- 7:13Speaker 5: This for LSU is that's what I was.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Yeah it is. We talked about football, and everyone's so
- 7:19Speaker 3: excited about the portal class, right, but you look at
- 7:21Speaker 3: the football team and you're like, yeah, it's gonna be
- 7:23Speaker 3: awesome with Sam Leve, It's gonna be awesome with Prince
- 7:25Speaker 3: will Um when meale On nailed it kind of nope, nope,
- 7:28Speaker 3: all right, Jordan Seaton, all these other elite players you
- 7:31Speaker 3: got from the portal Tie Benefield my favorite already, and
- 7:34Speaker 3: it's like, yeah, those guys are gonna be really, really good.
- 7:36Speaker 3: They're gonna start for you. Oh, by the way, you
- 7:38Speaker 3: also got Lamar Brown, five star, you got Richard Anderson,
- 7:42Speaker 3: you got Deuce Gerald's. You got all these really elite
- 7:44Speaker 3: players in the freshman class that are coming in as well.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And on top of all that, what you retained with
- 7:51Speaker 3: trade Is and with Weeks and all these like DJ Pickett,
- 7:54Speaker 3: like all these like and that's just scratching the service.
- 7:56Speaker 3: There's really good players, right. The baseball team is almost
- 8:00Speaker 3: like a mirror image of that. Yeah, I mean, like
- 8:02Speaker 3: what you have, Like we keep talking about the seven
- 8:04Speaker 3: top one hundred recruits, talk about Logan Schmidt, we talked
- 8:06Speaker 3: about I talk about Malco Washington because our few high
- 8:09Speaker 3: school Deno Waters, the Landen Hood kid, all these elite
- 8:13Speaker 3: players that you brought in. And oh, by the way,
- 8:16Speaker 3: you still have Cason Evans, you still have maybe the
- 8:18Speaker 3: best core of young hitters. You have the best catching
- 8:21Speaker 3: unit in the entire country. It's I mean, they are loaded,
- 8:25Speaker 3: it is it is going to be awesome, undefeated man.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Come on.
- 8:29Speaker 4: And that was the thing with the in the in
- 8:31Speaker 4: the portal was that, yeah, we are getting so many
- 8:35Speaker 4: good bats gloves, but it's the starting caliber pitching. It's
- 8:40Speaker 4: that ace that is just not available in the portal
- 8:43Speaker 4: this year. And so you know, I know he's he
- 8:46Speaker 4: just turned eighteen. I get on that, but maybe it's
- 8:49Speaker 4: not this first year, but like you would assume he
- 8:51Speaker 4: is going to become that guy. Yeah, and because he
- 8:54Speaker 4: will obviously have three years here, so he makes a what.
- 8:58Speaker 5: I think exciting too, Like you know you're going to
- 9:00Speaker 5: have that for three years.
- 9:01Speaker 4: R If I was a parent, my child was in
- 9:05Speaker 4: that situation. Yeah, and I don't know the conversations. Obviously,
- 9:08Speaker 4: we are not privy to that information, that conversation that
- 9:11Speaker 4: has had between this young man and the junior college,
- 9:15Speaker 4: this young man in the professional teams and his agent
- 9:17Speaker 4: and the managers and the scouts, and then also what
- 9:20Speaker 4: it is with Jay Johnson and other colleges. But looking
- 9:24Speaker 4: at it from a thousand foot view, I feel like
- 9:29Speaker 4: this is the right decision for a young man, especially
- 9:31Speaker 4: like I didn't.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Realize that he was so young.
- 9:33Speaker 4: That's how I was, Like, I didn't turn eighteen until
- 9:35Speaker 4: I got I was already at LSU. There is so
- 9:37Speaker 4: much growth that has to come, and he's not get
- 9:42Speaker 4: improving him. It's such like a pivotal part of his career.
- 9:45Speaker 4: He's obviously talented, obviously he's going to do big things,
- 9:47Speaker 4: but like, you're not going to improve by going to JUCO. So, yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 4: you're even if your draft position stays the same. I
- 9:55Speaker 4: guess the point is potentially the team that drafts you
- 9:58Speaker 4: next year would be a to pay the full amount
- 10:01Speaker 4: of your of your slot. But I think he makes
- 10:04Speaker 4: a great decision to come to college just for him
- 10:07Speaker 4: in his future. But again I'm just looking at that
- 10:10Speaker 4: from not being a ball knower. Just I just think
- 10:13Speaker 4: that's better for development of a young man. Yeah, better
- 10:16Speaker 4: like go for three years and you get to get paid.
- 10:18Speaker 4: And I don't know you make the comparisons from what
- 10:21Speaker 4: the football team's doing to what the baseball team, but
- 10:23Speaker 4: I don't know what kind of pool of money baseball
- 10:25Speaker 4: pools from. Obviously it's a lot less and Jay is
- 10:28Speaker 4: a master. I know Jay loves to go and recruit
- 10:31Speaker 4: and promise something and then go find it. I'm not
- 10:36Speaker 4: sure how much like he's got in the bag before
- 10:39Speaker 4: he promises it, but he can always finds a way
- 10:41Speaker 4: to deliver.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Well.
- 10:42Speaker 6: I think I was gonna say, like, I think we
- 10:44Speaker 6: kind of talked about where like obviously money is a
- 10:46Speaker 6: big factor, especially now, but I don't think Jay is
- 10:49Speaker 6: selling them on money, like I think he's giving them money.
- 10:53Speaker 6: For sure, you have to with how things are now,
- 10:56Speaker 6: but he's saying like, hey, come here three years, get
- 11:00Speaker 6: this MLB pipeline that we've built here, like with Dylan Cruz,
- 11:03Speaker 6: Tommy Tanks, Paul skiings like this is these are people
- 11:07Speaker 6: that are and even Kate Anderson and Anthony Ironsen in
- 11:11Speaker 6: the miners like they're going to get called up and
- 11:14Speaker 6: they're going to be successful in the MLB. So Jay
- 11:19Speaker 6: has built something here where. That's why something like this
- 11:23Speaker 6: is also just to me pivotal to the program, because
- 11:28Speaker 6: he's built something here where it's like, you can go
- 11:31Speaker 6: to the MLB and you can do well in the
- 11:33Speaker 6: MLB like Connor Griffin did, and you can do that,
- 11:36Speaker 6: or you can come here. You can win championships, right,
- 11:41Speaker 6: you can travel well, you have a fan base that
- 11:45Speaker 6: loves you and treats you like you're already a professional player.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Or you can go year in Juco.
- 11:50Speaker 6: You can go to the farm system and the miners
- 11:53Speaker 6: and you can grind your way through all these small
- 11:57Speaker 6: little towns or whatever until you eventually get called up,
- 11:59Speaker 6: or you come here and you can show people that
- 12:03Speaker 6: you can be immediately successful in them. Would be like,
- 12:06Speaker 6: I just think that Jay's built something here that's like
- 12:09Speaker 6: a pipeline, like people want to come here. It's like
- 12:12Speaker 6: with NFL LSU, like the pipeline from LSU to the
- 12:16Speaker 6: NFL is also really well established here. So I think
- 12:21Speaker 6: that Jay is doing something here where that's kind of
- 12:25Speaker 6: the pitch more than like, hey, we'll pay you millions
- 12:28Speaker 6: of dollars to come here, and I think, like, for sure,
- 12:31Speaker 6: he's giving the money, but there's the brand of LSU
- 12:34Speaker 6: Baseball that I think is the biggest brand in college baseball,
- 12:39Speaker 6: like period point block, and you can make arguments for
- 12:42Speaker 6: other schools, but I think it's LSU. And maybe I
- 12:44Speaker 6: have purple colored glasses on or whatever, but I just
- 12:50Speaker 6: think that Jay's building something very very.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Big here and very people that go high in the
- 13:00Speaker 5: MLB dropped want to come here.
- 13:01Speaker 2: We're to say his buildings. And he's won two national
- 13:03Speaker 2: championship but.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Still but standard not like that.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Yeah right, LSU baseball sells itself, yeah right. But what
- 13:11Speaker 3: he has done specifically and these draft picks that they
- 13:14Speaker 3: have had it is I listen, it's different because it's
- 13:18Speaker 3: baseball versus football. It's very saban Esque in terms of like,
- 13:22Speaker 3: yes all the time, what you're putting into I I
- 13:25Speaker 3: don't my own. Again, this is an assumption. I'm speaking
- 13:29Speaker 3: purely from a place of ignorance and what I assume
- 13:31Speaker 3: to be the case. I doubt that he got one
- 13:34Speaker 3: point seven million. It's also probably something to be said
- 13:37Speaker 3: of like, hey, we can't pay you more than we're
- 13:39Speaker 3: paying milam.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I I don't know.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I mean, like, yeah, that's that's always an odd thing.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Maybe you can't. Maybe maybe Milam also is like load
- 13:46Speaker 3: the roster up as much as possible. I don't care
- 13:48Speaker 3: about being the highest paid player because he doesn't seem
- 13:49Speaker 3: like the kind of person anyway. I don't know what
- 13:52Speaker 3: you're what you're paying them. What'll be interesting now for
- 13:54Speaker 3: next year is do you go, like, like you you
- 13:58Speaker 3: need to sign these types of players you and recruit
- 14:00Speaker 3: these types of players just in case there's a windfall
- 14:03Speaker 3: like this year and they all somehow end up on campus,
- 14:07Speaker 3: but you are you got to you gotta keep them
- 14:08Speaker 3: out of the portal, obviously, but you have a chance
- 14:11Speaker 3: really like to like you've now layered like a foundation
- 14:14Speaker 3: of elite players for the next several years where you
- 14:17Speaker 3: don't have to rush anybody into getting it bat's early.
- 14:21Speaker 3: If they're good enough, they will But my god, dude,
- 14:24Speaker 3: I don't I don't know if I've ever seen a
- 14:27Speaker 3: roster like this. Yeah, like there's there. I'm sure there
- 14:30Speaker 3: are historically speaking, some really good teams, especially at LSU,
- 14:36Speaker 3: but top to bottom, yeah, I.
- 14:38Speaker 6: Mean, like, and then you gotta like make sure that
- 14:40Speaker 6: the same thing that happened to you this season. Doesn't
- 14:43Speaker 6: happen again where you have all this talent loaded up
- 14:46Speaker 6: and they all leave.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Because they're all going to them LBA.
- 14:50Speaker 4: I would say that they're like, they're gonna be as
- 14:54Speaker 4: good as baseball as Browse's is a grocery store, you
- 14:57Speaker 4: know what I'm talking about.
- 14:58Speaker 2: You know about brother, go.
- 15:00Speaker 4: To ra Else's, go get your uh, go eat your
- 15:02Speaker 4: groceries for the week, load up for the week. And
- 15:04Speaker 4: you know, maybe you maybe you don't have a lot
- 15:06Speaker 4: of time at lunch, you need to go grab something quick. Well,
- 15:09Speaker 4: they got a little they got a cold bar over there,
- 15:10Speaker 4: they got a hot bar. Yea, they got onetons. Okay, Well,
- 15:16Speaker 4: you can do all of your groceries the best in
- 15:18Speaker 4: the business.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Man.

- 15:21Speaker 4: it's well serviced, The customer service is incredible. The shelves

- 15:41Speaker 4: why would I send you to a website for a
- 15:43Speaker 4: grocery store. I know you're asking yourself that well, because

- 15:50Speaker 4: all the specials running this week. And it changes weekly,
- 15:53Speaker 4: so check it every single week. You might get a
- 15:55Speaker 4: little ten percent off here, a little twenty percent off there.
- 15:57Speaker 4: You never really know what kind of special So go
- 15:59Speaker 4: to rolsees dot com and save big today and do
- 16:03Speaker 4: your grocery shopping with the local company. Rals's go to
- 16:05Speaker 4: Raulse's market Rous's dot com. I will kind of finish
- 16:11Speaker 4: this talk about Logan Schmidt, but just saying like this
- 16:16Speaker 4: is also this is a snapshot of college athletics in
- 16:21Speaker 4: general and in baseball. I don't think it has made
- 16:24Speaker 4: more of a difference as far as how teams major
- 16:29Speaker 4: league professional teams.
- 16:31Speaker 2: View at sport at the college level.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Like I think like back in the day, it was
- 16:36Speaker 4: more okay, you got to get in the farm system
- 16:38Speaker 4: to be to be groomed. Yeah, to be so you're
- 16:41Speaker 4: ready for the big leagues. It's not the same anymore.
- 16:44Speaker 4: I think college baseball is more It's always been a feeder, right,
- 16:48Speaker 4: but it's more of a feeder now. I think people
- 16:50Speaker 4: are willing. Of course, the money plays a big part,
- 16:53Speaker 4: and yet it's not one point seven million. But like,
- 16:55Speaker 4: if you're getting paid something right to go to an
- 16:58Speaker 4: incredible program that you know you're going to get better
- 17:01Speaker 4: at that, you know that Major League Baseball Views has
- 17:06Speaker 4: a very high opinion of, then it makes it an
- 17:09Speaker 4: easier decision. I would take that thousand times more than
- 17:13Speaker 4: going to a junior college to play a wasted year
- 17:17Speaker 4: just to get to the draft and be drafted in
- 17:19Speaker 4: the same position. You go to LSU, you get paid.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Yeah it's not one point seven million, but you're getting
- 17:25Speaker 4: paid something. You have an awesome experience, you get awesome coaching,
- 17:28Speaker 4: you have this potential to improve yourself to the number
- 17:31Speaker 4: one overall draft pick. You go to JUCO, you're not improving.
- 17:33Speaker 4: You're just gonna be the same guy. You're gonna be
- 17:35Speaker 4: the same guy. Maybe you add a one mile per hour,
- 17:39Speaker 4: maybe two miles per hour, whatever, Maybe that bumps you
- 17:41Speaker 4: up a couple of positions. But he's got an opportunity
- 17:43Speaker 4: now to make a lot of money in college. Maybe
- 17:46Speaker 4: it's not that signing bonus that he was gonna do
- 17:48Speaker 4: and get ready, and maybe now it's not three years
- 17:53Speaker 4: in minor leagues. Maybe now he plays at LG for
- 17:55Speaker 4: three years and he's pitches in the minor leagues for
- 17:58Speaker 4: a year.
- 17:59Speaker 2: You just never know.
- 17:59Speaker 4: But obviously you're gonna project that you're going to as
- 18:03Speaker 4: a family trying to make that decision, you're always gonna
- 18:05Speaker 4: think the most positive. You're gonna go to LSU, You're
- 18:08Speaker 4: gonna win a national championship or two. You're gonna be awesome,
- 18:11Speaker 4: and you're gonna be a top five pick in three years.
- 18:13Speaker 2: So that's the that's the cell.
- 18:15Speaker 4: And as athletes, as higher performance athletes, you're confident enough
- 18:20Speaker 4: to where you believe that that cell works because you
- 18:23Speaker 4: believe that and obviously he's got the talent to back
- 18:26Speaker 4: it up. So things is changing.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yeah, in IL feel so bad for like it sounds
- 18:34Speaker 3: bad because they lost a bunch of this year, but
- 18:35Speaker 3: like Southern and Nichols coming in on a Tuesday and
- 18:38Speaker 3: there's just some eighteen year old throwing ninety eight miles
- 18:42Speaker 3: an hour in the first.
- 18:44Speaker 4: And that guy gets to stay off of a bus
- 18:46Speaker 4: for a couple of years too, and he gets to
- 18:48Speaker 4: take chartered planes. So we hear all the bad stories
- 18:52Speaker 4: on nil on every sport. And my god, do we
- 18:56Speaker 4: like to talk about the bad ones because there's a
- 18:59Speaker 4: lot of bad.
- 18:59Speaker 2: But then I al not within il, I'll play yours.
- 19:03Speaker 2: She could play.
- 19:04Speaker 4: But there's a lot of bad in college sports. But
- 19:06Speaker 4: in als has helped college baseball more than more than anything.
- 19:09Speaker 4: So congrats LSU baseball. Congrats Jay, you keep winning. You
- 19:13Speaker 4: are the goat. And uh And that guy's flying all
- 19:16Speaker 4: his He's got a lot of miles right now. He's
- 19:17Speaker 4: probably Platinum, maybe Diamond, whatever airline he's with, he's crushing it.
- 19:23Speaker 2: You're getting free upgrades, probably weekly.
- 19:25Speaker 3: What are you telling me?
- 19:26Speaker 2: Jay?
- 19:27Speaker 4: He's flying everywhere. He's working his ass off right now
- 19:30Speaker 4: and he's crushing it. So congrats LSU Baseball. Right, we're
- 19:34Speaker 4: gonna go to break and you want to talk a
- 19:37Speaker 4: little LSU training camp.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I can't wait. Let's do it. Are you fired up?
- 19:41Speaker 2: Come on now all right with us, right here, off

- 20:33Speaker 2: A little bit more capital.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Well, don't have somebody make a decision in New York
- 20:37Speaker 4: City for Louisiana business. Have a Louisiana bank make that
- 20:40Speaker 4: decision for you. Do your banking with the local bank.
- 20:43Speaker 4: First American Bank.

- 22:57Speaker 4: time of year. It is August.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Welcome to August, everybody August.
- 23:03Speaker 4: There are student athletes all over the country packing up
- 23:10Speaker 4: a bag right now, folding up their undies, what, folding
- 23:14Speaker 4: up their shorts, their shirts, their socks, getting their tennis
- 23:19Speaker 4: shoes ready.
- 23:20Speaker 3: How'd you start with undies?
- 23:23Speaker 2: That's where I.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Always start when I packed. Yeah, because I forgot undies
- 23:26Speaker 4: one time and it was terrible. So that's the first
- 23:29Speaker 4: thing I packed as underwear. Underwear and socks.
- 23:33Speaker 2: You got them.
- 23:33Speaker 4: They're getting their toiletries ready, getting their little mini shampoos,
- 23:39Speaker 4: mini deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrush. They're packing up their bag, they're
- 23:44Speaker 4: going to Walmart. They're buying some sheets, maybe maybe new
- 23:48Speaker 4: little comforter because they're be moving into in a little
- 23:51Speaker 4: apartment for a month.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Training camps start all over the country. These are things
- 23:55Speaker 2: that I did.
- 23:56Speaker 5: People are using minis for a month.
- 23:58Speaker 3: That's craziness.
- 23:59Speaker 5: That's you're sweating size.
- 24:02Speaker 4: That's true. They're not even flying. They're probably regular sized.
- 24:04Speaker 4: It's probably regular size shampoo.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Please wear regular sized stuff.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Actually in the nil world, I don't know what. Maybe
- 24:10Speaker 4: they have one. Maybe they're probably they might be getting
- 24:13Speaker 4: seven eight hundred thread counts. I was going to Walmart
- 24:16Speaker 4: and getting the T shirt style. She yeah right, yeah, yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 4: those are legit. They were legit and something that was
- 24:23Speaker 4: cheap and you're only going to use for a month. Well,
- 24:26Speaker 4: then at the end of that month, you just take
- 24:27Speaker 4: it back to Walmart and return it. So sorry I
- 24:31Speaker 4: didn't use it. About the wrong color. Well, that's what
- 24:35Speaker 4: people are doing because they're getting ready to report training camp.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Report day is coming. First practice for LSU, I believe Wednesday, right,
- 24:42Speaker 4: So the first practice is that report day.
- 24:44Speaker 3: You lost me at Many Underwear. They got their Many
- 24:49Speaker 3: travel underwear yeah, Wednesday they report Tuesday, yep, with all
- 24:55Speaker 3: the stuff you brought up and Wednesday they unpack all
- 25:00Speaker 3: their underwear.
- 25:01Speaker 2: No, Tuesday, run packing Tuesday.
- 25:03Speaker 3: You don't know that. Yeah? Do you? When you got hotels?
- 25:08Speaker 2: When you go to a hotel, do you unpack?
- 25:09Speaker 6: No?
- 25:10Speaker 3: You should have seen my hotel in Tampa.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Unless it's a really big bag and a small room, yeah,
- 25:16Speaker 4: stuff everywhere. This is a really big bags or in
- 25:19Speaker 4: a small room you kind of have to unpack because
- 25:22Speaker 4: you can't keep it open.
- 25:23Speaker 2: All right, I'm in big cities.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I ran out of the other this morning. I had
- 25:27Speaker 3: to use one arm degree or what do they call it?
- 25:30Speaker 3: Old spice over here, and then this one in this arm.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Ped I can do you do? Same arm, same same hand, same.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Pit, crazy said, I was trying to block my body
- 25:39Speaker 3: with this arm.
- 25:40Speaker 2: This this man puts on with the same hand.
- 25:43Speaker 5: It's like, how do I do this the most complicated
- 25:45Speaker 5: way possible?
- 25:45Speaker 3: I want to make sure my wrist flexibility. It's sometime
- 25:47Speaker 3: I've been working on with the y.
- 25:50Speaker 6: Tyre flips will really help you.
- 25:54Speaker 3: There's so many unnecessary things.
- 25:56Speaker 2: About why fake tire flip anyway?
- 26:00Speaker 4: We feel it so obviously we're speak of della chief, folks.
- 26:04Speaker 4: But every single college is reporting a lot of storylines,
- 26:08Speaker 4: tons of storylines, a lot of quarterback battles just within
- 26:12Speaker 4: the SEC, all over the country, all over the SEC.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Of course they do LSU not so much a quarterback battle,
- 26:19Speaker 4: but brand new coaches up, brand new quarterback, brand new
- 26:22Speaker 4: lots of things. The one thing that's not brand new
- 26:26Speaker 4: is most of the pieces are a lot of the pieces,
- 26:27Speaker 4: at least on defense, which I'm.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Very excited about.
- 26:30Speaker 4: I expect the defense, as with a lot of most
- 26:34Speaker 4: training camps, defense is usually ahead, always doesn't matter, it
- 26:39Speaker 4: doesn't matter if it's experienced on experience, defense has usually
- 26:44Speaker 4: had that first week and you're seeing that. You're you're
- 26:47Speaker 4: seeing that at least with reports in Saints training camp,
- 26:50Speaker 4: but I expect to see that in reports at LSU
- 26:53Speaker 4: training camp. Now things are going to look a little bit,
- 26:55Speaker 4: you know different. There's going to be a lot of
- 26:57Speaker 4: getting to know each other. I know we had Spring
- 26:59Speaker 4: and every everything, but still there's a lot of news
- 27:01Speaker 4: spring training. Throw that throw that tape in the trash.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Nobody cares you forget everything that you did in spring.
- 27:08Speaker 4: You never watched that film again, So there's going to
- 27:11Speaker 4: be a lot of introduction with coaching staff, players, blah
- 27:14Speaker 4: blah blah, and it's uh, it's gonna be it's gonna
- 27:17Speaker 4: be exciting.
- 27:17Speaker 2: The reports are gonna be great.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Be careful Nick Oneerols told us about that with with
- 27:21Speaker 4: Saints training camp and NFL, like, be careful of taking
- 27:25Speaker 4: too much stock into quarterbacks completion percentage, how quarterbacks or
- 27:30Speaker 4: receivers look an individual just and especially first gave a
- 27:34Speaker 4: couple of days of training camp. Be careful of any
- 27:36Speaker 4: defensive and offensive lineman reports like, because that's all garbage
- 27:41Speaker 4: the first couple of days, like you maybe if you
- 27:44Speaker 4: really know what you're looking at, maybe you can tell
- 27:46Speaker 4: if there's like missed assignments or something like that. But again,
- 27:48Speaker 4: that's what the first couple of weeks of training camp
- 27:50Speaker 4: is for, to get those miss assignments out of the way.
- 27:52Speaker 4: But until you get pads on, until he goes live,
- 27:54Speaker 4: which we are going to get some live drills this
- 27:56Speaker 4: year a Lan Kiffin, something we never got with Brian Kelly.
- 28:00Speaker 4: It's just there's a lot of things that are hard
- 28:02Speaker 4: to judge. But I'm just fired up to have something
- 28:04Speaker 4: to watch, something to look at.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Yeah, agree. Also, his practices are fun, Like there's there's
- 28:10Speaker 3: a lot of slim dunk. There's just a lot of
- 28:13Speaker 3: work that gets done in that amount of time like that.
- 28:16Speaker 3: It is very high energy, pretty fast paced. I'm looking
- 28:21Speaker 3: forward to most like I think that the things that
- 28:23Speaker 3: are most important for this year's team to succeed in
- 28:26Speaker 3: my opinion, obviously the trenches, as cliche as it is,
- 28:30Speaker 3: but they're super young on the defensive line, but they're
- 28:32Speaker 3: also super talented. I think their Defensepond's gonna be really
- 28:35Speaker 3: really good. They also got some really key pieces that
- 28:37Speaker 3: are not young, right like Dominic McKinley. Let's said Donovan,
- 28:43Speaker 3: I mean he's going into his third year, former five star.
- 28:45Speaker 3: You got the kid from Auburn, You brought in a
- 28:47Speaker 3: couple other like really good players. I feel like at
- 28:50Speaker 3: that position specifically to go along with maybe the best
- 28:54Speaker 3: defensive line class, like from a recruiting standpoint that we've
- 28:58Speaker 3: seen in twenty years. I mean they just loaded there.
- 29:03Speaker 3: And then the office line, I think is the one
- 29:04Speaker 3: you would be most concerned about for a position unit
- 29:07Speaker 3: on the field. I'm looking forward to that. The running
- 29:10Speaker 3: back won't be interesting. Dylan Jones looked awesome. He just
- 29:12Speaker 3: looked awesome.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Hester is really excited about Dylan Jones.
- 29:15Speaker 4: He runs hard, he runs The running back room is
- 29:18Speaker 4: going to be so unique because Lane Kiffin's offense is
- 29:21Speaker 4: usually kind of have a bell cow, right, but this
- 29:23Speaker 4: is going to be three guys that you're really not
- 29:26Speaker 4: going to lose anything when any of them they're going
- 29:28Speaker 4: to be You're gonna be able to have a fresh,
- 29:30Speaker 4: really good.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Running back in the fourth quarter every single game. So
- 29:33Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 29:34Speaker 4: So this whole season, Like if we everything revolves around
- 29:38Speaker 4: the quarterback always, right, But if you like look at
- 29:41Speaker 4: Lane's history, Let's look at last year at Ole Miss,
- 29:44Speaker 4: like they were a drive away from playing for the
- 29:47Speaker 4: national championship. His team was try to compare that team
- 29:51Speaker 4: to this team from a talent perspective, anyway, Like defensively,
- 29:55Speaker 4: they're gonna better.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Than Ole Miss was desive coordinator.
- 29:59Speaker 4: From a talent perspective, it is this this year will
- 30:04Speaker 4: go as Sam Levitt goes.
- 30:07Speaker 3: So one of the other things I was gonna say
- 30:09Speaker 3: is like what you want to see in in like
- 30:13Speaker 3: fall practice, you want to see who steps up as
- 30:17Speaker 3: QB two. I thought I thought Landon Clark was good
- 30:19Speaker 3: early on in spring practice. Long Stoot obviously, I think
- 30:22Speaker 3: he's going to be the guy that's QB two also
- 30:25Speaker 3: in the former five star like like a lot of
- 30:27Speaker 3: really good talent there, right, But I also think it's
- 30:32Speaker 3: very hard to get through a full season in this
- 30:35Speaker 3: league without an injury at that position, and not because
- 30:37Speaker 3: of Levit's you know, but just like over the last
- 30:40Speaker 3: two years, I mean South Carolina's had Lenora Sellers go down,
- 30:44Speaker 3: Texas head Quinn Viewers go down. That's when Arch had
- 30:47Speaker 3: to come in, Gutter Sockton had to come in for
- 30:49Speaker 3: Carson Beck. I mean, there, there's there's I mean Trinidad
- 30:52Speaker 3: came in only at first because Austin Simmons was.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Injured, and we know the style of play that same level.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Sam Levit like can be explosive with his legs now out.
- 31:01Speaker 4: What does give me a little bit of hope for
- 31:02Speaker 4: that is he has been injured. Now, he has suffered
- 31:05Speaker 4: through an injury, and he's got a lot of experience.
- 31:07Speaker 2: So quarterbacks do learn.
- 31:10Speaker 4: How to avoid that, to learn how to say stay healthy,
- 31:15Speaker 4: you know, to an extent. Sometimes you just like can't take.
- 31:18Speaker 2: It out of them.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Sometimes they do, but you know, I don't think he's
- 31:21Speaker 4: like Jackson Dart was as past year with the Giants,
- 31:24Speaker 4: like diving into linebackers head first, Like he's not doing
- 31:27Speaker 4: any of that dumb stuff. But I just think that
- 31:31Speaker 4: this season, if you look at it and compare it,
- 31:33Speaker 4: how fast can this offense assimilate to Lane Kiffin's style
- 31:37Speaker 4: of style.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Of play, the speed of which they like.
- 31:40Speaker 4: How quickly can they get that installed in like offense installed,
- 31:45Speaker 4: not just installed, but get these guys speaking fluently in
- 31:47Speaker 4: that language. They can learn it, they can memorize it,
- 31:50Speaker 4: but do they know know it? And that's when you
- 31:52Speaker 4: become an expert at that whatever you're trying to do,
- 31:55Speaker 4: an expert at that offense, at that terminology of understanding
- 31:58Speaker 4: not just understanding what you're doing, but why you are
- 32:01Speaker 4: doing it. So we'll see how it goes. But if
- 32:03Speaker 4: you just compare it to what almost was able to
- 32:05Speaker 4: accomplish last year on paper, at least LSU should I mean,
- 32:11Speaker 4: could potentially be better if you can get good quarterback play. Now,
- 32:14Speaker 4: Trinidad Chambliss played like one of the best quarterbacks in
- 32:16Speaker 4: the country, So are we going to get that play?
- 32:19Speaker 2: It remains to be seen, But we're all excited about it.
- 32:22Speaker 3: I can't wait.
- 32:23Speaker 4: I can't wait to see it happen, see a play out.
- 32:25Speaker 4: What else I can't wait to go is go to
- 32:27Speaker 4: go Tommy's.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Is time?
- 32:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's time.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Hey Tommy, you gotta go Tommy dot Com, windows, doors, sady,

- 32:39Speaker 4: I know you're going to call some people if you
- 32:40Speaker 4: have to change out your doors, your windows, your siding.
- 32:43Speaker 4: And sometimes maybe it's a new house, maybe it's a
- 32:45Speaker 4: little addition, maybe it's a renovation, or maybe you just
- 32:47Speaker 4: live in South Louisiana and it's humid, there's termites and
- 32:50Speaker 4: there's bad weather, and you just have to replace stuff
- 32:53Speaker 4: because it's old. Well, make sure you give Tommy's a
- 32:55Speaker 4: call and let them show you why. They win award
- 32:57Speaker 4: after award afterward. Angie's Super Service Award winner every single
- 33:01Speaker 4: year since twenty sixteen, hanging those banners. What a championship
- 33:05Speaker 4: team they got over there, So give them a call.

- 33:19Speaker 4: lot of big things to get through. We got weekend
- 33:21Speaker 4: winners and losers coming up a little bit later on
- 33:23Speaker 4: in hour three, So stick with us, right in and
- 33:25Speaker 4: off the bench.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Off the bench, Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn
- 33:34Speaker 1: presented by Buy You Automotive.
- 33:40Speaker 3: We got an Angel, Loneless tars, Sam, beauty and chairs
- 33:45Speaker 3: with legs.
- 33:46Speaker 7: You up and sounds all right looking back here Off
- 33:54Speaker 7: the bench Love on the Raisin Kane Studio Monday Shows,
- 33:57Speaker 7: brought to you by Buy You Automotive.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Some not great news out of Saints Cam, I mean
- 34:06Speaker 4: not terrible news, but a little surprising news. Wide receiver
- 34:09Speaker 4: Jaalen Polk announced that he was just gonna hang him up.
- 34:12Speaker 4: He's announced the retirement. Jalen Polk was traded for last
- 34:19Speaker 4: year before this season from the New England Patriots. Now
- 34:23Speaker 4: it was a definitely a low risk trade. I think
- 34:26Speaker 4: you traded him in a twenty seventh sixth round pick
- 34:29Speaker 4: in exchange for a twenty twenty eight seventh rounder.
- 34:32Speaker 2: So it was a very like low risk move to
- 34:34Speaker 2: add some depth.
- 34:35Speaker 4: A talented wide receiver, and he was on injured reserve
- 34:39Speaker 4: last year, so it was like definitely a move for
- 34:40Speaker 4: the future. But he was drafted Jalen Polk drafted in
- 34:44Speaker 4: twenty twenty four, second second round pick, thirty seventh overall.
- 34:48Speaker 2: So obviously he's got a lot of talent. Crazy, I know, right,
- 34:51Speaker 2: And I.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Mean you see that every now and then you see
- 34:53Speaker 4: these young guys that I don't know if they just
- 34:56Speaker 4: fall out of love with the sport. You never know
- 34:59Speaker 4: what's somebody's going through personally. But seemingly a surprise to
- 35:03Speaker 4: the Saints. I think he was a guy that was
- 35:07Speaker 4: that every time he talked to the media, seemed to
- 35:10Speaker 4: express excitement for this season, excitement what the future held,
- 35:14Speaker 4: and for whatever reason, decides to hang them up retire early.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I still like this receiver room, though, I feel like
- 35:22Speaker 3: there's a lot of talent there, not just the lave
- 35:24Speaker 3: we talked. It was a little bit last week. I
- 35:25Speaker 3: like that Devon Vailey kid, I say, kid, he's grown adult,
- 35:29Speaker 3: but it's like twenty five or don't.
- 35:31Speaker 4: It's like, well, people, because in the NFL, they just
- 35:34Speaker 4: never really have to grow up, so there are always
- 35:36Speaker 4: kids like Peter Payin.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I mean, I am older than most of them for sure,
- 35:41Speaker 3: but no, I mean, but still very surprising. The twenty
- 35:44Speaker 3: twenty four I just assumed this was like a situation
- 35:46Speaker 3: that he was I forgot that he was a twenty
- 35:48Speaker 3: twenty four draftic. I feel like twenty one like that,
- 35:52Speaker 3: very talented, but also I.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Mean, thirty seventh overall pick a wide receiver as a yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 4: you're you're supposed to be somebody, you're supposed to play
- 36:01Speaker 4: for a while, you're supposed to be a big high contributor.
- 36:03Speaker 4: And the fact that the Saints were able to trade
- 36:07Speaker 4: for him for not much compensation a year after he
- 36:10Speaker 4: was drafted probably the first red flag.
- 36:12Speaker 2: I guess, yeah, that's.
- 36:15Speaker 3: A that's a really good point. Thank you, you're welcome,
- 36:18Speaker 3: But you know.
- 36:20Speaker 4: It's I guess, love what could have been but a
- 36:24Speaker 4: little bit of a shock, And it is just it
- 36:26Speaker 4: is strange to see these young guys. It's always a
- 36:28Speaker 4: little bit jarring when we see young athletes retire when
- 36:32Speaker 4: seemingly a career ahead of them. Now again, you never
- 36:35Speaker 4: really know what happened, what panned out. But the Saints
- 36:37Speaker 4: move on? Will you move on? And going through Ross
- 36:42Speaker 4: Jackson's article from yesterday was a great job he does
- 36:47Speaker 4: do a great job.
- 36:47Speaker 2: He's so much smarter than us, so much smarter than us.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Standouts from practice Chase Young, first guy, he mentions.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Multiple times this week.
- 36:58Speaker 4: So Chase Young. It's such an inter resting story with him,
- 37:00Speaker 4: obviously ultra talented. Didn't really know he had an injury
- 37:05Speaker 4: last year, didn't really know if he wanted to be there.
- 37:07Speaker 4: We didn't really know what his attitude was going to be,
- 37:10Speaker 4: how motivated he would be to come back from injury.
- 37:14Speaker 4: But my guy, did he and did he play incredibly?
- 37:17Speaker 3: So really he was a Heisman finalist, like he was,
- 37:21Speaker 3: he was one of the best players in the country.
- 37:23Speaker 3: I mean, this is twenty nineteen, which doesn't feel that
- 37:25Speaker 3: long ago but is. But you're also coming into the
- 37:29Speaker 3: prime part of your body at that age. I think
- 37:34Speaker 3: we've all been there, and I think Ross talking about
- 37:38Speaker 3: the defense, especially, there's a couple of guys like him
- 37:40Speaker 3: in kool Aid are guys that he keeps bringing up.
- 37:42Speaker 3: I think he got some really good young pizzas there,
- 37:44Speaker 3: and I don't know if he's necessarily a young piece.
- 37:47Speaker 3: He's done really.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Well so far.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he's done really well. And again most training camps,
- 37:55Speaker 4: how it goes is the defense is always ahead early, right,
- 38:00Speaker 4: both sides of the ball are installing a lot of things.
- 38:03Speaker 4: The defense installs a lot, offense installs a lot, and
- 38:07Speaker 4: every single day is something different. So day one is
- 38:10Speaker 4: day one installed, and you work on those plays. Day
- 38:12Speaker 4: two install, you work on those plays. Day three blah
- 38:14Speaker 4: blah blah.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So it goes on.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Now, when things everything gets installed, that's when things start
- 38:21Speaker 4: to even out, usually a little bit. Now, offense is
- 38:23Speaker 4: going to have its moments. It's gonna have its some
- 38:25Speaker 4: periods where it looks great. It's gonna score in two
- 38:27Speaker 4: minute drive, red zone is gonna have looked a great
- 38:29Speaker 4: one day. But overall that first week is usually the defense.
- 38:33Speaker 4: It's a defense heavy, and it does start to even out,
- 38:37Speaker 4: So I wouldn't be too worried. You know, Ross mentions
- 38:40Speaker 4: that he's being very Chase Young's being very disruptive. They
- 38:44Speaker 4: usually have I mean there's usually the first two, three,
- 38:46Speaker 4: four prices there's no pads on. So like offensive linemen,
- 38:50Speaker 4: they offensive lineman hate no pads. It's it's dumb for
- 38:54Speaker 4: them because they're going full contact anyway, because the defensive
- 38:58Speaker 4: line is coming off the as fast as they can
- 39:01Speaker 4: and they're having a block and they're getting yelled at
- 39:03Speaker 4: if they're not hitting their run fits on offense and
- 39:06Speaker 4: it's no pads, so they're like, can we just get
- 39:08Speaker 4: the pads on, It's gonna be a lot safer. So yeah,
- 39:11Speaker 4: usually defense is goingnaly, so is going to be ahead.
- 39:15Speaker 4: So it's but it's good to see. That's the question mark.
- 39:18Speaker 4: We believe, based on what we saw towards the end
- 39:20Speaker 4: of last season that the offense is going to be good.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Now how good remains to be seen. There's a lot
- 39:26Speaker 4: of positivity for every NFL team going into training camp
- 39:31Speaker 4: because you think everybody's got a chance with the Super Bowl,
- 39:33Speaker 4: everybody's got a chance, and there's all these great moves
- 39:36Speaker 4: that you made going but you do have to be realistic.
- 39:38Speaker 4: The Saints can be good. How good that is good?
- 39:42Speaker 2: Eight wins to you? Is it nine wins? Is it
- 39:44Speaker 2: ten wins?
- 39:45Speaker 4: You don't really know, but you think the offense is
- 39:47Speaker 4: going to be able to at least put points up.
- 39:49Speaker 4: They've invested in the offense. They got a young quarterback,
- 39:52Speaker 4: they got a young offensive mine head coach, they invested
- 39:54Speaker 4: an eighth round pick.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Well, you tell me this too, Like in terms of
- 39:59Speaker 3: maybe different from college to pro, but usually the biggest
- 40:02Speaker 3: jump you make as a team is from year one
- 40:05Speaker 3: to year two of a head coach. It's especially the
- 40:07Speaker 3: case in college. I would assume it's probably similar in
- 40:11Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Right, I mean in the NFL, you'r one to year two,
- 40:16Speaker 4: four quarterbacks is the biggest jump you'll ever make. Okay,
- 40:19Speaker 4: So I I'm trying to think was that ever a
- 40:23Speaker 4: year one with a head coach? And I don't think
- 40:25Speaker 4: I was ever on a team that was year one
- 40:27Speaker 4: with a head coach.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad I brought it up. Then McCarthy, Pete.
- 40:31Speaker 4: Carroll definitely not your one. Belichick, he was there for
- 40:33Speaker 4: a little bit. Sean Payton, Yeah, they're all there.
- 40:37Speaker 3: But I mean, either way, I feel like that's usually
- 40:39Speaker 3: the case. Like, and you're trying to talk about install
- 40:41Speaker 3: and everything like that and like like laying a foundation.
- 40:44Speaker 3: There's a lot to like about the Saints going into
- 40:46Speaker 3: this season with what like like the confidence you have
- 40:49Speaker 3: to I guess parlay the end of last year's success
- 40:53Speaker 3: into this year. And again we've talked about it at nauseum,
- 40:56Speaker 3: almost like the the the division itself is garbage I
- 41:00Speaker 3: mean it's got to be the weakest division top to bottom.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I think in the NFL. Am I wrong about that?
- 41:06Speaker 3: Is there a weaker one NFC East?
- 41:09Speaker 2: No, not THEFC South. We could AFC North is not
- 41:14Speaker 2: the best this year, but no, the NFC South is
- 41:18Speaker 2: the answer.
- 41:18Speaker 3: See, like everything's in play for you to make a
- 41:21Speaker 3: big sub.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 41:23Speaker 3: And you also brought up the fact that you make
- 41:25Speaker 3: the biggest leap for quarterbacks in year one a year two,
- 41:28Speaker 3: and so that should make even more confident going in
- 41:30Speaker 3: this year with Tyler Shuck.
- 41:32Speaker 4: That's right, and I am We're confident again. What is
- 41:35Speaker 4: your what's the bar? Your setting is kind of depending
- 41:38Speaker 4: on whether you think it's going to be a good
- 41:39Speaker 4: or bad year.
- 41:40Speaker 2: So what bar is it? I'm going to set it
- 41:42Speaker 2: at about nine wins. I think it is going to
- 41:47Speaker 2: be a very successful such an unsexy number eight. Yeah,
- 41:50Speaker 2: I know, all right, stick with us. We're going to
- 41:52Speaker 2: break right here and.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Off off the bench.
- 41:55Speaker 2: You laugh at that, You laugh every time we go.
- 41:57Speaker 4: To commercial, every time go to Central play in Central

- 42:28Speaker 4: water heater, never run out of hot water again.
- 42:31Speaker 2: What do you laugh at?
- 42:33Speaker 4: Yeah, powder powder room, Yeah yeah, thankless water heater and
- 42:38Speaker 4: never run out of hot water again. I'm also commercial

- 42:50Speaker 4: make sure you're calling the experts at Central Plumbing, go

- 43:03Speaker 2: Memory try the lot.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Buy
- 43:16Speaker 1: You Automotives.
- 43:28Speaker 4: Welcome back here off the bench. That was Chris Marler
- 43:31Speaker 4: right there on the We're on people are hearing our voices.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Welcome back here, off the bench, flapping the raised canes studio.
- 43:42Speaker 4: We kind of talked about it. We were trying to
- 43:44Speaker 4: figure out exactly what the line movement was. But there's
- 43:47Speaker 4: been a little bit of align moment with LSU Clemson.
- 43:50Speaker 3: That's shocking to me.
- 43:51Speaker 4: I know it opened up, I mean I assume it
- 43:53Speaker 4: opened up months ago. It opened up at eleven and
- 43:56Speaker 4: a half, I believe, and currently is sitting right around
- 44:00Speaker 4: Some people have it at nine and a half, some
- 44:01Speaker 4: people have it at ten ten and a half, but
- 44:03Speaker 4: it's moved a little bit since the opening two.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Points depending on which book you look at.
- 44:09Speaker 4: That's exactly right, trying to figure out exactly what the
- 44:12Speaker 4: reasons were why there would be movement, at least that
- 44:16Speaker 4: much movement.
- 44:17Speaker 3: I mean, listen, Clemson is one of the best programs
- 44:21Speaker 3: in college football over the past decade. Right have you
- 44:26Speaker 3: seen the quarterback? I should know sent you guys this.
- 44:30Speaker 3: It look it looks like left coast gunner Stockton big
- 44:34Speaker 3: time quarterbacks Christopher. Would you you know how I feel
- 44:40Speaker 3: about the name Christopher. You and I've had this conversation.
- 44:42Speaker 3: I don't love it when an adult goes by Christopher.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 44:45Speaker 3: It's that's a four year old you rather go by.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I would rather go by Tofer than Christopher. It's not
- 44:52Speaker 3: a good it's not good either way, but to go
- 44:55Speaker 3: that far over, I mean, like like to just drop
- 44:58Speaker 3: two points. I mean again the old miss one, which
- 45:01Speaker 3: is the big one. We probably would talk about. The
- 45:02Speaker 3: next segment is uh that moved technically four points from
- 45:07Speaker 3: the opening line last year where that where LSU was
- 45:09Speaker 3: favored by one and a half.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what it is, but it has
- 45:13Speaker 2: moved a little bit. We'll see how it goes.
- 45:14Speaker 4: Obviously ls's still a big favorite no matter what line
- 45:17Speaker 4: you're looking at.
- 45:17Speaker 2: And hopefully the books are correct.
- 45:20Speaker 4: I hope we beat the brakes off of them in
- 45:22Speaker 4: tofer yeahstover all right, stick with us. We got weekend
- 45:25Speaker 4: winners and losers coming back to start hour number three
