Transcript
- 0:13Hello you guys, and welcome back to another episode of the Hawkerel Energy Podcast.
- 0:17I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is your weekly reminder that it's
- 0:20a new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day
- 0:24for you to become the hawk Grel Energy you want to attract. Hello you
- 0:28guys, Happy twenty twenty four. What the actual heck? I cannot believe
- 0:35we are entering a new year. I have been on a break these past
- 0:40two weeks week and happen a bit. As you guys know, I took
- 0:44last week off and decided to not record an episode strictly because I really wanted
- 0:49to take a break. I just wanted to be off social media. I
- 0:52really wanted to be present during the holiday season with my family, with Zach
- 0:57and just really disconnect. And I have to be honest, it was the
- 1:00best decision to do. Of course, with my job, there's moments where
- 1:06I'm able to disconnect and you know, just spend time with Zach and not
- 1:08be on social media or anything like that. But I feel like I haven't
- 1:11had days where I literally just sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing,
- 1:17Like I'm talking like nothing in regards to taking care of the house, have
- 1:21no adult responsibilities, like I haven't had a day like that in so long.
- 1:25So Zach and I literally dedicated a day and we watched all four Hunger
- 1:30Games in our living room, so literally sat on the couch all day,
- 1:33did nothing, And it was exactly what I needed. I just needed that
- 1:37little reset of just doing absolutely nothing and enjoying the time off, and we
- 1:42did just that. So I really really enjoyed just taking the time off during
- 1:46the holidays and just as I said, spending it with family. And I
- 1:49hope you guys enjoyed your holidays as well. And now we have officially entered
- 1:53the New Year's season, so I'm very excited to see what is to come
- 1:59for twenty two twenty four. As for my New Year's Eve, I didn't
- 2:01do anything too crazy. I feel like New Year's Eve is so overrated in
- 2:06my opinion, like I feel like everybody feels forced to do something. Originally,
- 2:10Zach and I were supposed to have like a little staycation in Ottawa.
- 2:15We went to Nordeek during the day, which is a spa here in Ottawa.
- 2:17It was so relaxing and it just felt like a wellness day and I
- 2:22feel like it was the perfect way to enter the new year. And then
- 2:27we were supposed to stay at a hotel in Ottawa and just go out for
- 2:30dinner and just make it about Zach and I. We weren't going to do
- 2:32anything special in terms of like going out with our friends or going to a
- 2:36party, Like literally, we're just going to go out for dinner and that
- 2:38was about it. But we decided to change our plans and we went out
- 2:42for dinner the night before New Year's Eve because it gets so busy and hectic
- 2:46at restaurants and everything is usually booked and busy, right, So we ended
- 2:51up going out for dinner the night before at this restaurant called Riviera on Sparks
- 2:55Street downtown. If you're from Ottawa, so good, the food is amazing.
- 2:59So Zach and I did that the night before, and then on New
- 3:01Year's Eve, we went to the spa, as I said, but then
- 3:04we went home and we went to a little house party with our friends.
- 3:07Like literally it was just like eight or ten of us couples literally played games,
- 3:13ate good food, had a bit of wine, celebrated the New year,
- 3:16and then literally went home like it was super chill, nothing crazy,
- 3:20I also would have been happy just sitting in my pajamas in my bed,
- 3:23watching like some tip of TV show with Zach or a movie all night and
- 3:27been happy with that too, So doesn't really matter. I personally think New
- 3:30Year's Eve is completely overrated, but I'm very happy to be in twenty twenty
- 3:35four and start talking about goals, resetting, and just getting into the motivation
- 3:42of starting fresh. So, as you guys know, in the last episode,
- 3:46we talked a lot about setting goals, vision boards, all that,
- 3:50and not gonna lie. I've only gotten halfway through my vision board. I
- 3:53don't know why it's taking me so long. I'm just trying to make sure
- 3:58that the images that I pick really reflect the goals that I've written down.
- 4:01I've already written down my goals for each category, which if you haven't listened
- 4:05to that episode, you need to. It's the perfect episode to prep for
- 4:10the new year. And it's never too late to start your vision board now
- 4:14or in February, whenever it works for you. Just know that it's never
- 4:17too late to jump on that wagon. But as I said, I'm still
- 4:21not fully down my vision board. I still have a few more images to
- 4:25add, so just trying to make sure I find the best images to reflect
- 4:28the goals that I've written down in my notebooks. So currently going to be
- 4:30working on that probably tonight or tomorrow night. And I wanted to share some
- 4:35of the goals with you guys, just because I feel like that's very inspirational
- 4:40for people who don't know what to write down. Some people have a hard
- 4:43time figuring out goals for themselves, and I personally find seeing other people mention
- 4:46their goals or anything like that, it's very inspiring and it allows you to
- 4:50see if that goal might work for you, or maybe something similar that works
- 4:54for your type of lifestyle or anything like that. So first off, I'm
- 4:59entering my wifey era. I am getting married this year. It is my
- 5:01wedding year. I cannot believe I'm going to be becoming a wife in eight
- 5:05months. Eight months. It's gonna fly by you, guys. I'm telling
- 5:09you right now. It's going to go buy so vast. So I am
- 5:12just hoping that I have the wedding of my dreams this year. I have
- 5:15a lot of planning coming up these next few weeks with my wedding planners,
- 5:18so things are starting to get real, not like it wasn't real when I
- 5:23picked up my wedding dress and you know, picked up the wedding venue and
- 5:26all that. But I think it's going to feel even more real once we
- 5:28start picking out like the florals and the overall design of what we're going to
- 5:31be doing for our ceremony and the reception and all that. So we haven't
- 5:34done any of that yet, so that is going to be a January thing
- 5:39to start off with. But one of my goals is just to have the
- 5:42most memorable wedding with Zach and just being able to have the perfect tineymoon as
- 5:46well. I don't think I've mentioned this yet, just because Zach and I
- 5:49we're still trying to confirm our plans, but Zach and I are literally taking
- 5:54the whole month of August off, So we are leaving August first for our
- 5:58wedding in Italy, and then we're going to be doing our honeymoon after that
- 6:00within Europe. Still haven't confirmed honeymoon location. We're thinking either all of Greece
- 6:06or the French riviera area like Saint Tropez, Monaco nice. So if you've
- 6:12been to either of those places, please let me know how your experience was
- 6:15or if you've been to both, tell me your opinion on both of those
- 6:17places. I would love to hear your feedback. Those are the two places
- 6:20in between right now. I'm really struggling just because they're both beautiful places that
- 6:25I've never been, and I think there'll be an absolute dream no matter which
- 6:29one I pick. But we'd love to hear your feedback just on getting from
- 6:31place to place, if it was easy in terms of like costs for accommodations,
- 6:36is it, you know, affordable, is it very expensive? All
- 6:40that, So let me know if you've been to either of those places.
- 6:42Would love to hear your feedback. Another goal of mine is to launch my
- 6:46business before the end of the year. This year, I'm definitely going to
- 6:48be focusing on, you know, continuing my content through social media, but
- 6:53also really focusing on creating my brand. Creating a brand doesn't just take three
- 6:58months or six months. It typically takes an entire year, if not longer,
- 7:01to really launch a good quality brand. So my goal would be to
- 7:05least launch by the end of the year. Not going to say what kind
- 7:09of brands it is yet. I already have that selected obviously, with the
- 7:12type of products that I'll be selling and all that, but I don't want
- 7:14to give any hints yet, just because we are in the very beginning stages
- 7:16of it, so I don't want to release anything. But that is definitely
- 7:19going to be my main goal for this year business wise. Another business goal
- 7:24is really just getting more exposure on this podcast. You guys know how much
- 7:27I love chatting with you guys and just really becoming our best selves. So
- 7:30I really just want to get more girlies like you a bigger audience, just
- 7:34to continue growing here in the podcast community. And I'm also going to start
- 7:40including video podcast clips on our Instagram. I don't know if I'll be posting
- 7:44full videos on YouTube. I do see a lot of podcasters do that,
- 7:49but personally, for me, I'd rather just post the clips that are the
- 7:54most inspiring, the most motivational through Instagram. And yeah, you guys will
- 7:58see a bit of video clips once my studio is all set up. I'm
- 8:01doing my entire office in the next few weekends, so realisticly, I won't
- 8:05start video footage until the end of January, but at least it's making progress,
- 8:09right, so that will hopefully be set up before February. Another thing
- 8:15I want to start doing is posting more YouTube content. As you girlies know,
- 8:18I've been completely off YouTube, but we're getting back into a routine.
- 8:22I'm going to be posting consistently on one day, so every Sunday there'll be
- 8:26a video or every Monday. I'm not sure yet. It's either going to
- 8:28be Sunday or Monday, just because editing for YouTube takes me much longer than
- 8:33my TikTok videos, so I just need the weekend to like take the time
- 8:37to actually do it, so there'll be a consistent schedule. That way,
- 8:39you guys know every time I upload, so it might be on Sundays or
- 8:43Mondays. I will let you guys know once I confirm that with Zach,
- 8:46because Zach is going to help me with the editing as well, which is
- 8:50great. And then I also really want to try and include YouTube style content
- 8:54on my TikTok and Instagram. I want to provide longer form videos, as
- 8:58I said, very similar to YouTube, just chatty vlog style all that,
- 9:01and TikTok has that ten minute video feature now, so I think it could
- 9:05be a really good opportunity to yeah, tap into that market. Just a
- 9:09different kind of video style, so hoping to be consistent with that as well.
- 9:13And then another huge business thing that I really want to do or personal
- 9:18I guess, is host my very first event. I would love to have
- 9:22everybody in the same room. I think I'm going to start here in Ottawa.
- 9:26Right now, I'm in conversation with two people who are workout instructors,
- 9:30so we're going to be doing a workout class and then I'm going to have
- 9:33some goodie bags, hopefully have some other vendors there, and yeah, just
- 9:37have a really fun event out of it. So that is definitely my goal
- 9:39to do here in Autawa. I'm hoping within these next few months we can
- 9:43finalize it, but that is another goal of mind that I really want to
- 9:46do this year. And then lastly, I just want to be in the
- 9:50best health, in the best shape of my life. There's obviously a lot
- 9:52of stuff going on. I want to look my absolute best for my wedding
- 9:56day. I'm not going to do any crazy like wedding diets rounds like that.
- 9:58I don't really believe it diets, as you guys know, but I
- 10:01do really want to just eat consistently healthy, working out, consistently all that,
- 10:07But I'm not going to talk about that too much because a lot of
- 10:09these things that I'm going to be talking about in this episode, which is
- 10:11going to be the twenty twenty four non negotiables, are going to be things
- 10:15that I'm personally making a non negotiable for this year, whether it's healthy habits
- 10:20or just things that I personally think should be done consistently for the year in
- 10:24order to feel like your absolute best self. So we're going to get into
- 10:26this episode now, I'm going to be sharing twenty things that you should be
- 10:30doing for this year. Okay, So if you're wanting to become her,
- 10:35your best self, the person that you strive to become for the new year,
- 10:39then these are the things that you should be doing. Number One,
- 10:43having a consistent workout schedule. This could be as many times a week as
- 10:48you want. There is no number on working out consistently. You could work
- 10:52out five days a week, three days a week, two days a week.
- 10:56The fact that you're actually putting time out of your day to move your
- 11:00body, whether it's for an hour or forty minutes or twenty minutes, you
- 11:03are taking time to yourself and focusing on yourself to become the best version of
- 11:09yourself. You are allowing yourself to work towards a goal that you will want
- 11:13to achieve yourself, and that is just working out consistently. So I'm not
- 11:16going to put a number on it because some people are like, okay,
- 11:20Ley, how many times a week do you work out? Like I want
- 11:22to do exactly like you whatever, Like totally understand, like I like to
- 11:24see what other influencers do to It's I understand what you're saying, but you
- 11:28have to do what works for you. If you're the kind of person that
- 11:31works long shifts and you don't have the time to have a consistent workout schedule
- 11:35five times a week, then maybe do two times a week. You have
- 11:37to do what works for you. The only way you're going to be consistent
- 11:39is if it is very achievable for yourself. If it isn't achievable, you're
- 11:45not going to achieve it, and then you're going to be disappointed. Right.
- 11:48You need to make sure you're setting realistic goals for yourself. So that
- 11:50is one non negotiable that I think everybody should be taking into the new year,
- 11:56is taking time for yourself and working out, and I'm telling you right
- 11:58now, working out is not about your physical appearance. It is about your
- 12:03mental health. Another one is trying different workout classes. If you're the kind
- 12:07of person that doesn't like going to the gym, then you need to find
- 12:09something different that works for you. Do you like spinning, Do you like
- 12:13pilates? Do you like just doing at home workouts? Like you just have
- 12:16to try different things. Specifically, if you're someone that also has never really
- 12:20been in a consistent workout routine, this is the perfect opportunity for you to
- 12:24try different things. I've tried so many different types of workout classes. I
- 12:28was trying yoga at the end of twenty twenty three, just trying to see
- 12:31if it was for me, and to be entirely honest, after my second
- 12:35or third class, I realized it wasn't something that I wanted to include into
- 12:37my routine consistently. So now I'm going to be trying something different. So
- 12:41just get out there and just try different classes. It's totally worth just trying
- 12:46out different things, and it will help you realize what you actually love.
- 12:50Spinning was something that I took on in twenty twenty three in the beginning of
- 12:54the year. I think my one year mark will be in March or February,
- 12:58so I'm basically almost there doing spending for an entire year. And it
- 13:03has been a huge game changer in my routine. Just something that I never
- 13:07knew I would enjoy until I actually started. And now I've met a bunch
- 13:11of friends through spin co going to spin classes together. Just such a great
- 13:16community and such a great way to get a good sweat in and get a
- 13:18good cardio session in, and it's yeah, truly a game changer. It's
- 13:22just changed my life. So something that I will be definitely taking in for
- 13:26twenty twenty four, but I also want to try new workouts for twenty twenty
- 13:30four. Another thing that I am taking into twenty twenty four is early bedtimes
- 13:35and early mornings. Of course, I've always been an early bedtime person,
- 13:39but I need to be more consistent at it. Sometimes you're on your phone
- 13:41end up scrolling a little too late and you look at the time and you're
- 13:43like, oh, crap, I should have been in bed thirty minutes ago.
- 13:46So less scrolling at night is definitely going to be a huge impact for
- 13:50me in terms of going to bed earlier. I'm pretty consistent at going to
- 13:54bed at ten PM. I personally find that's early. Some people don't think
- 13:56that's early enough. Some people go to bed at nine thirty. I would
- 14:01say I'm in bed by eight pm, and I usually start shutting down by
- 14:05nine thirty and then I'm fully like asleep by ten. So that's typically my
- 14:11night routine when it comes to going to bed at an early bedtime. In
- 14:15terms of early mornings, I definitely want to keep my consistent seven am morning
- 14:18routine. However, I do like to wake up at five thirty as well
- 14:22to go to seven am spinning classes. I freaking love doing an early morning
- 14:28workout like that. It is so rewarding after I find like being able to
- 14:33say that you're done your workout at eight am in the morning is so cool.
- 14:37I don't know, I just like find it feels so good and I
- 14:39feel so much more productive throughout the day as well. However, I wouldn't
- 14:41do that every single day for me personally, just because I do have the
- 14:46flexibility with my job where I don't need to be waking up at five thirty
- 14:48in the morning every single morning, so I only like to do it usually
- 14:52once a week, but it definitely makes me feel so good when I do
- 14:54do that. And everybody has their own thing, and whether you do that
- 14:58every single morning, good for you. If you love it, that's what's
- 15:01important, or if you do it once a week like me. Everybody is
- 15:05on their own path or on their own journey. They can do whatever they
- 15:07feel. You do not need to do it every single day, but if
- 15:11you're the kind of person that likes early mornings like that, I definitely recommend
- 15:13trying it out. It will change your life. Another thing I'm going to
- 15:18be doing less in twenty twenty four is drinking less alcohol. I mentioned it
- 15:22in my previous episode, I think, or the episode before that, but
- 15:26I realized that in twenty twenty three, I have been drinking less and less
- 15:31and less, and I've been feeling so freaking good. Like being able to
- 15:37wake up the next morning and not feel like absolute shit is honestly amazing.
- 15:41Like I don't need to get blackout drunk when I'm with my friends. If
- 15:43you're with your group of friends and you have no choice but to get blackout
- 15:46drunk because you know, maybe your friends pressure you to take shots, or
- 15:50they press you to drink more blah blah blah, then those are not really
- 15:52good friends. Do you need to be able to make your own decisions,
- 15:56be able to have self control and figure out what works best for you,
- 16:00And let's be honest, hangovers are totally out for twenty twenty four. I
- 16:04do not want to have one single hangover for twenty twenty four. I just
- 16:07want to feel like my absolute best self. Actually, maybe not for my
- 16:11bapterorette. We're gonna put that weekend on a hold for my New Year's resolution.
- 16:15But I don't want to remove alcohol from my life completely though, because
- 16:19I like to have a glass of wine the odd time, I like to
- 16:22order a fancy cocktail at the bar, like, I don't know, I
- 16:26just don't want to remove it from my life completely. And I think that's
- 16:29totally okay. As long as you have some self control and you can figure
- 16:32out when you can consume alcohol, how much you can consume all that,
- 16:36then you're totally fine to just decrease the amount of alcohol that you drink and
- 16:40just focus on drinking mocktails or just drinking water. Like, you don't have
- 16:45to have a bunch of drinks to have a good time. You can still
- 16:48have a good time by drinking less. The next non negotiable for twenty twenty
- 16:52four is budgeting and investing. We are going to stop spending money on stupid
- 16:57shit, and we're gonna be focusing on saving money and putting their money towards
- 17:03valuable things, plain and simple. I'm not even going to go into that.
- 17:06I have always loved saving my money and investing it in good quality things.
- 17:11For an example, investing in my home. I own a house at
- 17:14twenty six. Oh my gosh, I'm not twenty six and twenty seven.
- 17:17Oh I don't even know what age or what life I'm in right now,
- 17:18But anyways, I totally recommend saving your money, do not waste it on
- 17:25stupid shit. This is your sign that twenty twenty four is going to be
- 17:26the year where you're going to start saving money and putting it towards traveling,
- 17:30or putting it towards a home, or putting it towards a wedding. Put
- 17:33it towards things that are actually worth the investment. Another non negotiable for twenty
- 17:38twenty four is Daily Greens. You guys know that I'm obsessed with egg one.
- 17:45I truly believe that this drink has made a huge difference in my life
- 17:49in terms of energy, in terms of strengthening my gut, overall health benefits
- 17:53all that. Do your own research, talk to your doctor about it before
- 17:57taking anything like this is just something that you guys know that I've been taking
- 18:00consistently and I'm definitely going to continue taking into twenty twenty four. Just something
- 18:06that I personally find is a huge impact in my life. As well as
- 18:11daily vitamin intake. It needs to be better at taking my vitamins, not
- 18:14gonna lie. That is something that I sucked at in twenty twenty three,
- 18:17so I'm getting back into that for twenty twenty four, just taking collagen daily.
- 18:21I also want to get into vitamin D just because I don't have sun
- 18:25really right now with the winter season, so I want to be consistent at
- 18:27taking that and just other vitamins like a multi vitamin all that. So I
- 18:32can also share some of the vitamins that I will be taking throughout this year.
- 18:37I've had it all stocked up in my I have like a health and
- 18:40wellness drawer that has all my vitamins and tees and greens and electrolytes all that
- 18:45Electrolyte is also something that you should be taking into twenty twenty four. It's
- 18:49just a good way to stay hydrated and it tastes better than water in my
- 18:53opinion. I've mentioned brands in the past in previous podcast episodes, but Organica
- 19:00Element is another great one as well. You can just get them off Amazon,
- 19:03but I find it makes a huge difference in staying hydrated throughout the day.
- 19:07I can definitely make a little supplements tab on my LTK or Amazon page
- 19:11of things that I buy consistently for my daily intake. But those are two
- 19:15things that I definitely want to stay consistent at for twenty twenty four. Another
- 19:18non negotiable is getting ready every single day, even if I don't have to
- 19:22leave the house. There is such a huge difference when I don't put myself
- 19:26together. If I stay my pajamas all day and don't do skincare and makeup,
- 19:29I feel like a complete slob, Like I literally feel like, oh,
- 19:33like what am I gonna do today? I feel like I just feel
- 19:36like crap. That's the best way to describe it. So I have made
- 19:38it into my routine where I need to wake up, brush my teeth,
- 19:42eat, my breakfast, go upstairs, do my skincare, makeup, put
- 19:47on a cute outfit, workout set, whatever, and that is my everyday
- 19:51routine and getting ready for myself has made such a huge difference in my confidence
- 19:56as well. Just putting on a little bit of makeup. You do not
- 19:59need to put bull face and makeup on every single day. I actually created
- 20:03a video on TikTok about the ends and outs for twenty twenty four, and
- 20:07one of the ends that I personally think is gonna be more popular in twenty
- 20:10twenty four is no mascara. I don't know about you guys, but I
- 20:14hate wearing mascara on my eyes. My eyes get so itchy. I hate
- 20:18taking it off every single day. It's just not necessary. All you need
- 20:21to do is curl your lashes for the day and you're good to go.
- 20:23I've been doing the no mascara look for probably the past six months now,
- 20:27and I just find it makes a huge difference in taking off my makeup throughout
- 20:30the day. I just like to put on light makeup for the day,
- 20:33just on my face, and it's the perfect every day no makeup makeup routine.
- 20:37If you guys want me to show you guys how I do it.
- 20:40I can definitely film a TikTok on it. I also feel like it's like
- 20:42my bronzing routine. Like some people say, oh, how do you stay
- 20:45so tan? Blah blah blah, and I am not tan right now.
- 20:48I am so pale. And that's one thing that I find everyone always talks
- 20:52about, you know, their confidence being low because they're pale. You guys
- 20:56know how much I love getting spray tans, but when my spray tan wears
- 20:59off, I like to keep a consistent, like makeup routine that gives me
- 21:04that bronze, glowy look. If you guys want a video of tutorial and
- 21:07how I keep my face looking tan and bronze, I can definitely show you
- 21:11guys how I do that. Another non negotiable for twenty twenty four is less
- 21:15scrolling and more podcasts. I'm learning nothing through scrolling on TikTok. Actually,
- 21:21sometimes you can't actually find educational stuff on TikTok, but usually when you're scrolling
- 21:26through TikTok and Instagram reels, it's pretty useless videos. It's pretty much just
- 21:30funny stuff or of log style videos anything like that. I'm not learning anything
- 21:33really. Podcasts, on the other hand, are extremely educational. You can
- 21:37find so many great podcasts that you can just learn so much. And I
- 21:41personally just want to educate myself more this year, So definitely listening to more
- 21:45podcasts is something that I want to continue doing for twenty twenty four. The
- 21:48next thing you need for twenty twenty four is a journal and a planner.
- 21:53Journaling and planning daily for twenty twenty four is going to be a huge game
- 21:59changer for you. If you are not planning your life every single day in
- 22:02a planner, what are you doing? Planning every single day has just been
- 22:07a huge game changer for me. I love writing everything down. I find
- 22:10it allows me to stay on top of things. I feel like if I
- 22:12don't write it down, I'll almost just like push the task to the side
- 22:17and I'll forget about it, and then I'll be upset that I didn't actually
- 22:19make it a priority. So writing things down, making everything a priority that
- 22:22you have to get done for the day is so motivational and it allows you
- 22:26to actually stay on top of the shit that you have to get done for
- 22:29the day. Journaling is something that you just need for yourself. Being able
- 22:33to write twenty things that you love about yourself or things that you're grateful throughout
- 22:37your life, or daily affirmations, self care acts, anything like that like
- 22:42it is so important for your mental health. I definitely struggle through a lot
- 22:48of different mental health issues in the past, as well as some seasonal depression,
- 22:52which I've talked about multiple times on here, But writing stuff out like
- 22:56that in my journal definitely helps me out so so much. And this is
- 22:59define something that you need to take into twenty twenty four if you really want
- 23:03to level up yourself and just feel like your best self. Another thing that
- 23:07I'm going to be taking into twenty twenty four is skincare for not just your
- 23:11face. Skincare for your face is obviously important. If you're not doing that
- 23:15now, you need to make that a religious thing every single morning. Just
- 23:18your skin health is very important. But one thing that I've lacked at but
- 23:22I have gotten better at the last part of twenty twenty three is body care.
- 23:27Neck care. Neck care is something that I've always sucked at, which
- 23:33means bringing your skincare from your face down to your neck. You need to
- 23:36remember that part of your body when I was, I want to say,
- 23:41twenty two twenty three, my parents brought me on a trip to Pudicana.
- 23:45I was there for the first day and I think I wore maybe like thirty
- 23:49cent screen, which honestly the first day of not being exposed to sun for
- 23:55a very long time. This was in February, so it was like the
- 23:57middle of the winter here in Canada. So going to a very hot,
- 24:02tropical place in Mexico where it's literally smoking hot out, I put thirty SBF
- 24:07on my body and I barely applied it on my neck. I got the
- 24:11worst sunburn of my life. Of my life. Did I apply some sacram
- 24:17on my neck? Not really. I got such a bad burn, and
- 24:19to this day I regret it because I do have some pretty bad like not
- 24:26damage, like if there's no visible damage, I guess you can say.
- 24:27But it is so important to prioritize SBF on your body and taking care of
- 24:33that, Like having bad burns like that is obviously not good for your skin
- 24:37health. So let this be a reminder to you to apply SPF every single
- 24:41day on your face, on your neck whenever you're outside and hot sun like
- 24:45that all over your body. It's so so important if you want to stay
- 24:49young and if you just want to feel and look your best self. So
- 24:52that's definitely something I regret, is just not being better at that. But
- 24:56I've definitely been better since that. But for the young girls out there,
- 25:00I'm telling you right now, you need to make just skincare on your body
- 25:04a priority. Another thing I'm taking into twenty twenty four as a non negotiable
- 25:08is meditation. You guys know that I tried to do this last year and
- 25:12I struggled so hard at it. But my goal for this year is to
- 25:17really have a better night routine. That's one of my personal goals is just
- 25:19focusing on things that I can do to prioritize my health for my evening routine,
- 25:26and just meditation is just something that I've always wanted to include into my
- 25:30routine. I realize that in the morning it doesn't work for me, and
- 25:33that's okay. Everybody has their own thing, and it just doesn't work for
- 25:37me because I feel like in the morning, I'm so focused on getting all
- 25:41my tasks done for the day. I'm just very on the go, and
- 25:44that's how I like to have my mornings, where at night I really like
- 25:47to relax, enjoy, downtime, disconnect all that. So I really think
- 25:52meditation is going to be a huge game changer into my routine. So that
- 25:55is something that I'm trying to take in for twenty twenty four. A negociable
- 26:00for twenty twenty four is weekly face mass and hair mass. I suck at
- 26:04face mass and hair mass so much. I probably do it maybe once every
- 26:10six weeks if I'm lucky, but I really want to get into a consistent
- 26:12hair oiling routine for my scalp as well as weekly face mask, whether it's
- 26:17just eyemass or face mass. I like that just to really keep my skin
- 26:21hydrated. I have extremely dry skin, and you know, there's a lot
- 26:26of creams out there that are good, but you know, when you're walking
- 26:29outside, you can just yeah, I don't know. My skin is just
- 26:32flaky and dry and it's just the reality. So I definitely like to use
- 26:36the hydrating face mass. One of my favorite brands is Doctor Jarrett and I
- 26:41have a few of those, and I just try and use that as much
- 26:42as I can. But I definitely need to have a more consistent schedule in
- 26:45doing that. So weekly face and hair mass are going to be one of
- 26:49my goals for twenty twenty four. Another non negotiable for twenty twenty four is
- 26:53trying new recipes each week. Doesn't have to be every single day, it
- 26:57could be once a week, but going on Pinterest finding healthy recipes that you
- 27:02can try with your partner or your friend or just yourself at home. It's
- 27:06fun to also cook at home and learn how to cook. If you're someone
- 27:08that's not the best cook, this is the perfect opportunity to get into more
- 27:12cooking by trying new recipes. I love cooking at home. I feel like
- 27:18once I moved into my new place with Zach, we really made it at
- 27:21a priority to cook more at home meals, and I feel like I've really
- 27:25became a good little cook and found ways on what I like and trying to
- 27:30create new recipes for myself that Zach and I both like. So going on
- 27:33Pinterest will be your best friend finding healthy recipes, whether it's trying new breakfast
- 27:37recipes, lunch recipees, dinner recipes, anything like that. I feel like
- 27:41the new year is the perfect opportunity to try new things. There's obviously a
- 27:45lot of like good staples that people like to include into their dinner rotation each
- 27:49week. That's something that Zach and I like to do. But I really
- 27:52also like to try different things to hopefully include into my weekly dinner rotation,
- 27:56right, So that's something that I want to continue doing. This is something
- 28:00that I feel like I've been doing for a while. Like I would say,
- 28:03all of twenty twenty three, Zach and I did a pretty good job
- 28:06at trying new recipes, but I want to continue that. I definitely want
- 28:08to keep trying different ones, trying different foods as well. I am not
- 28:12a huge seafood person. I really really just don't like certain seafoods. I'm
- 28:18very on and off with fish. Not gonna lie like, I'm not a
- 28:22huge salmon girl. I really only like my salmon if it's in the air
- 28:25fire and if it's coated with like a bunch of sauce. I don't know,
- 28:27I just don't love the taste of salmon. But I really really like
- 28:30trying those salmon bowls with like the avocado and the saracha mao all that,
- 28:34Like that's something that I actually enjoy. But I can never just have salmon
- 28:40on the side of my plate, Like I just I can't do it.
- 28:41So trying more recipes like that by introducing new foods is a really good opportunity
- 28:47to Yeah, just try new recipes and try new things. Another thing that
- 28:51I'm taking into twenty twenty four is work life balance. I need to be
- 28:56better at balancing my personal time and work. I feel like I'm always focusing
- 29:00on work, and you know, sometimes that can impact relationships with your friends
- 29:04or impact relationships with your partner. And yeah, like to be honest,
- 29:08sometimes I make work more of a priority than other things. I definitely think
- 29:12in twenty twenty three I did do a better job at that, making you
- 29:15know, nights with my friends a bigger priority than you know, editing things
- 29:19that, honestly, like, it wasn't a nine to one one to do.
- 29:22I could take an hour of my time to spend time with my friends
- 29:25for spending an hour on my couch being on my phone. Right, So,
- 29:27just trying to create that work life balance is important. Whether you're someone
- 29:32that you know has a office job and you're looking at emails past your work
- 29:36schedule. If you're working at nine to five and you're looking at emails at
- 29:38eight pm, that's probably not a healthy relationship with your job in personal life,
- 29:42right, So you definitely need to find that balance. Same thing with
- 29:45school. Definitely find a balance between school as well as your friendships and just
- 29:49your own personal time too, right, Like go outside for a thirty minute
- 29:52walk. Don't feel forced to trap yourself in the house and continue working.
- 29:56We need those little breaks for our socializing with people or just putting on a
- 30:02podcast and going outside and getting fresh air. It's important to have those little
- 30:06mental health breaks, So definitely make sure you allow work life balance into twenty
- 30:10twenty four. Another thing that I want to be consistent out for twenty twenty
- 30:14four is eating whole foods consistently. I feel like the end of twenty twenty
- 30:18three I kind of got a little bad in terms of my eating habits.
- 30:22I felt like I was just going to things that were easy to cook,
- 30:25like you know, frozen foods that honestly aren't the healthiest. I want to
- 30:29get back into cooking consistently with whole foods, eating my vegetable intake all that.
- 30:34So yeah, just something that I could be better at for twenty twenty
- 30:37four. Another thing that I'm taking into twenty twenty four is less pressure on
- 30:41myself. What I mean by that it could be multiple things. To be
- 30:45honest, It could be work related, it could be personal growth related.
- 30:48We need to put less pressure on ourself in order to grow more as a
- 30:53person. I personally feel like when it comes to my job, I put
- 30:56way too much pressure on myself about certain things. I'm like, okay to
- 31:00be posting three times a day, not three times a week, like things
- 31:03like that where it's just like you always feel like you could be better at
- 31:06what you do for a living or what you do in life in general.
- 31:10I don't know how explain it, but I just personally feel like I need
- 31:12to put that pressure off and really just focus on what I can do and
- 31:17what feels good for me. Another thing I need to take in for twenty
- 31:21twenty four. This is for all my Hawk girls that are always late for
- 31:23appointments or anything like that. We are going to be on time this year.
- 31:26We are going to be showing up at least ten to five minutes before
- 31:30any appointment, any workout class, anything like that. I definitely sucked at
- 31:34being on time for the past few years. Like not gonna lie. The
- 31:38next thing that we're going to be taking into twenty twenty four is weekly Sunday
- 31:42resets, whether it's just resetting one room in your home or one main floor
- 31:48on your house, anything like that, or just taking an hour of your
- 31:51time just to do your laundry, clean your floors, dust anything like that.
- 31:56Taking the time to clean your home is so important, or clean your
- 32:00space. You'll feel so good after just doing a mini reset like that.
- 32:05So I definitely want to be consistent at doing my Sunday resets. I feel
- 32:07like this is something that I kind of slacked on just because life gets busy,
- 32:12and that's no excuse, to be honest, but I definitely need to
- 32:15spend more time on doing a weekly reset on my Sundays because I know how
- 32:19good I feel when I wake up on Monday morning and seeing a clean house,
- 32:22and I just need to be consistent with that. And lastly, another
- 32:25twenty twenty four non negotiable that we will be taking into this year is celebrating
- 32:30the small wins. This one I think is so important because I personally feel
- 32:35like people forget those small things that you may have achieved on your vision board
- 32:38or goals that you really hope to achieve for the year, whether it's the
- 32:43small goal or the big goal or anything like that. But we really need
- 32:45to appreciate those small wins and just feel grateful for those accomplishments because a lot
- 32:51of people you know don't realize those small wins are so so important, and
- 32:57I think it's important just to document small wins like that as well and just
- 33:00really be in the moment and congratulate yourself for those things. Putting so much
- 33:05pressure on yourself to achieve these goals for yourself happens. But being able to
- 33:09at least celebrate the small wins and knowing that you actually did achieve a goal
- 33:14for yourself motivates you to continue to achieve more goals for yourself and more goals
- 33:19throughout the year, because if you don't celebrate those small wins, then how
- 33:22are you going to continue wanting to achieve other goals for yourself throughout the year.
- 33:27So those are the twenty twenty four non negotiables for this year. Those
- 33:31are twenty things that I personally think that are the most important things to prioritize
- 33:37this year. If you haven't created a vision board yet, I highly,
- 33:40highly highly recommend doing so. It will change your life. I'm telling you
- 33:45right now, there's so many amazing things that are going to happen this year,
- 33:50and you want to make sure that you can document those moments by having
- 33:53those visual images being able to help you remember to achieve those things for yourself
- 33:57this year. So we are making twenty twenty four our best year yet.
- 34:01You heard it here. We are going to have the absolute perfect year by
- 34:06achieving everything that we want for ourselves and more so, remember to make your
- 34:10vision board, set those goals for yourself and let's just have the best year
- 34:15yet. So thank you so much for listening to today's episode. If you
