[upbeat music] Good afternoon, good evening, good morning, good, uh, day, ladies and gentlemen- Good evening... children of all ages. Happy Star Wars Week, all of you. Oh, for...
• 0:28
Well, it's, uh, Revenge of the Fifth today, huh? Or yesterday or two days ago or whatever. Uh, that's- Revenge of the Sixth. Sixth? Fifth? Sixth? Four to fifth. I- Revenge of the Fifth.
• 0:38
I really like The Mandalorian one now. Can we stop talking about Star Wars? This is the man.
• 0:45
[laughs] Hey, everybody, it's Full Spectrum Cycling here, uh, at the old River West, uh, Everyday Cycle studio and whatnot place. JK to my right, as always. Hoy. Tony, purple hair, right across the way over there.
• 0:58
That's me. It's kinda fading, Tony, today a little bit. I know. It is, it is. And, uh, Mr. JT in, in the house as well, staying later than he planned. [laughs] Things happen. Things change. Beers drink.
• 1:10
Well, I, I asked Mr. Trusty by to help us identify an axle from this ridiculous bicycle that we have in here, but, uh, I don't, I don't think a company- It's stuck... that went out of business in 2008 is gonna
• 1:22
do a whole lot of good for us finding no Achwell. Yeah. Ach- Achmel. Ach. Going to be an- Achwell... expensive endeavor-... Achmel, Foley...
• 1:30
for someone who's silly enough to have a time trial bike that he's riding around You should probably point that thing at your face. Yeah, this thing. Turn it. Turn it a little that way. There you, there you go.
• 1:39
It's good. You're mic'd. Oh, that's way better. That's better. Nobody, nobody wants to listen to you anyway, but now- I know... at least we can hear you. [laughs] There you go. Good point, good point. Heyo.
• 1:47
Holy fricking frack, what a rollercoaster weekend of weather, huh? Yeah, no kidding, man. [can opening] It was out real. 84 on Saturday. It was beauty. Now it's- Now it's 52... not so cold again.
• 1:59
This starts in the 40s on Saturday, and then it goes up into the low or the high 70s. Like, that's, that's, that's some bipolar stuff, man. [laughs] That's some bipolar stuff. That's, that's Wisconsin in a nutshell. Yep.
• 2:11
Bipolar. [laughs] Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna escape, uh, I'm gonna escape Wisconsin next weekend. No? Where you going? Going all the way over to Iowa. It's kinda like- Going to the Cora, yeah...
• 2:22
it's kinda like Western Wisconsin. [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
• 2:25
There's, uh, well, the time trials would normally be this weekend, which is, or was, or s- I think it still is since it's happening, the longest running mountain bike race at least in the Midwest. Hm.
• 2:36
It's been going on since about '85 somewhere maybe-ish- Wow... pretty consistently, all the way through. I don't think it's ever missed a year. Maybe last year. I'm not positive.
• 2:46
However, this year's course, uh, Ta- Spinner stopped through last week and said he can do the course in under four minutes, so [laughs] - Wow... it's, it is a... It's an attempt at having an event that's, you know,
• 2:59
keeping continuity going, but not necessarily- Well, and-... full-on embracing the eventness yet in these trying times. S- Spinner does border on superhuman, too. [laughs] True. I mean, there is that.
• 3:12
[laughs] Well, I figure I'm gonna take my camera, that way I won't have to actually race. I can just take pictures of the racers. [laughs] That generates content. Which- Content generates clicks. Clicks generate revenue.
• 3:23
Clickety, clickety-clack. Click, click, click. Don't talk back. Hm. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. JK's swiping away at the phone over there. I am. I'm trying, uh- What are you doing over there?
• 3:32
Trying to find the damn show notes. Oh. But, but- Whoa... what's the bike on the stand there, Greg? It's a pretty good-looking bike, but some weirdness going on there. What the hell? Who thought of that?
• 3:42
What's going on with the weirdness on that bike, man? It's a, it's a new Wyatt frame- Yeah... which John, John, JT, look at the cable routing on the top of the down tube. What do you think of that?
• 3:51
What do you think of that? Yeah. [laughs] Right? I see, I, I, I see one issue, and that's, uh, they didn't integrate it into the water bottle mount that should be there. Well, there's a water bottle holder.
• 4:06
It's down lower. Yeah, it's there. You can't see it from your vantage point. Well, no, I can kinda see it there, but I think that's... it could be integrated a little bit nicer.
• 4:12
Yeah, but I'm just not- That's- I'm not sure about the top, top of the down tube routing for cables. I would've put 'em all on the bottom of the down tube. Yeah, yeah.
• 4:19
I'm actually a top of the down tube kinda guy, um- Right on... on the basis of if you're gonna throw it over the back of a truck, if you're gonna, you know, possibly, you know, introduce it to rocks, logs, body parts.
• 4:34
What about throwing a frame bag in there? What do you think of that idea? Well, I think that a frame bag is very flexible.
• 4:39
A rock or a root is not flexible, so therefore, I think that it's still on the same point, but- Well, I, I did, I... So it didn't look especially attractive without cables.
• 4:47
I think once cables start to be run, it's gonna kinda tie things together. I, I'm willing to- [laughs] I, I'm willing to give it a try. [laughs] Ha- Have you even mentioned what it is yet, Greg? The Wyatt. The Wyatt.
• 4:57
Maverick. The Wyatt Maverick. I don't know if they- In a- They probably changed it on the other bike, too. To be fair- To be fair... to be fair,
• 5:04
I did send him a note and I said, uh, "Bike Crack, I, I thought you guys welded this [laughs] top tube in upside down." He goes, "Oh, no, no.
• 5:10
That's the new routing," 'cause the old bike had it on the bottom of the down tube- Mm... and on the bottom of the top tube, which I would say meh.
• 5:20
I'm, I'm all for, I'm all for routing as many of the cables together as possible along the same length. True that, especially when you start to put electrical wires in there, too. Mm-hmm. Well, if you wanna...
• 5:32
[laughs] Not my jig. Not my jig. Not my jig there at all, and I'm not gonna dance to that one.
• 5:37
But keeping an aesthetic sensibility, it allows you to run the, run all the cables from your shifters and your brakes right down the same line so they can take the same similar path and keep continuity- Well, it's-...
• 5:52
within the system... it, it's growing on me. I, again, at, uh, initial, it just threw me for a loop the first time 'cause I wasn't expecting it. We, we can skip over- I did-...
• 6:01
all the technical aspects and just look at the beautiful color. I mean, I love that bike. That's- I, I came in to work on something else- We can talk... and I was like, "Ooh, that's a really good-looking bike."
• 6:09
Well, it's- I'd call it s- it's supposed to be a smoky color. Mm-hmm. It's supposed to be like smoke What a handsome craft. Is that- Such lovely lines... is that a, uh, is that a paint or is that an anno?
• 6:20
No, it's a prismatic powder coat. Oh, so it, it's [smacks lips] They went, they went in-house at Wyatt with the powder coating. Atta- And, uh- Atta boy. Atta boy... atta boys, yeah. Atta, atta, atta people.
• 6:31
Whoever, uh, whoever's involved in there. That's- I don't know, I didn't do it, so... it, it's just a really nice looking build, man. Yeah. It's gonna be- It really is...
• 6:37
and I had to, uh, just be lazy and throw new brakes on it because the former routing made my hydroline shorter than [laughs] than a new set of new brakes. Is this a Greg bike? Uh, well- It is... theoretically.
• 6:50
[laughs] Certainly for sale. [laughs] Everything's for sale, but yes, it is. I like this. I- It is my bike... I mean, I'm a big fan of it because, well, I mean, black bikes are faster, period.
• 7:01
[laughs] I mean, just to me personally, it's like if you don't have to worry about the bike underneath you and pay attention to the color underneath you, it's just the black, the black bike is definitely faster.
• 7:13
It is a good thing. We will soon be able to make, make brown wheels roll down- [laughs]... beaches. Beaches, hopefully. Beaches, maybe.
• 7:23
Our, uh, our buddy Steve up in Port Washington up there has said that there are miles of beach going south out of port. Really? That's what I said, to which I am going to go up and check out- Is that the rocky part?...
• 7:35
I believe on Saturday. Uh, it gets gravelly or kind of like- Well, so it's-... like, like fist-sized rocks maybe a little bit sometimes. Oh, I, I- But there's a lot of sand... yeah, let me know.
• 7:46
Yeah, no, but well, Saturday, you're welcome to come on up. All right. Take a break from the house. Give yourself a treat there, Tony Bert. I need a little bit more of a, a, a heads-up on this because I am- [laughs]...
• 7:57
I am down for these excursions. It's also- Well-... Mother's Day weekend. Yeah... yeah, well, that's Sunday though, so I've got that going for me. Yeah, well.
• 8:04
Gonna pick up, gonna pick up my ma, take her over to my house. It's also my son's birthday on Sunday. Oh, nice. Happy Birthday. He'll be 15 years old. Woo. [clapping] All right, Garrett, yay.
• 8:15
Cleon got signed up for driver's ed. last week. [sighs] Nice. Oh, there you go. No, that's not nice at all. That sucks. [laughs] Well, okay, so I'm gonna- That's awesome... my cat has- What are you talking about?
• 8:24
What are you talking about?... acquired ringworm. [laughs] Pretty sure I'm gonna, pretty sure I'm gonna get [beep] for this because- [laughs]...
• 8:30
I managed to keep Sydney out of a driver's license all the way through college. Oh. Not, notwithstanding that she didn't need one and it would cost us a bunch of money for insurance. Right. She didn't need one.
• 8:41
And so now I'm gonna have to at least toe the line on Garrett for a while. I can't just throw him into a car. Well, Sydney learned to drive when she was 15, she just never got a license. Mm.
• 8:50
So I think we can follow that same path. I, I'm, I'm, I'm a person that, uh, you know, I, my, I, my dad taught me how to drive a car when I was far, far, far younger than a teenager. As well, myself.
• 9:01
Yes, and I think that's- But those were, those were different times... and I think those times should still actually apply, and- The licensing portion of the situation is the only thing I actually have a problem with.
• 9:11
It's like, why am I spending 100 to $150 a month for something that the person driving the car doesn't need? If, if they're going to a job and earning money, that's one thing. Right.
• 9:21
But S- Sydney never had a job that she had to drive to. She could walk or ride her bike to any job she ever had. Well, that's fine. Yeah. So yeah, see? Yeah. But- I'm a, I'm a curmudgeon, yeah...
• 9:31
that's why I'm buying old cars. Oh. 'Cause I'm hoping the insurance will be less. [laughs] Well, now that Sydney's 21, I think her insurance will be way down from what it would've been when she was 16.
• 9:40
Are you sure about that? Right, not much. Plus, she's- I thought it was 24 when- Oh... you know, those rates started dropping. But she's a lady, too, not a dude. But this is- [laughs]...
• 9:47
but this is also, this is also a bike show, right? I mean- Mm-hmm... our bike program-age. Well, we were talking about how she used a bike instead of driving a car, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, okay. Bring it on back.
• 9:57
Right? That's right around the horn there, folks. Yeah. So about this ringworm. [laughs] What events are coming up? What vets? I don't know. Yes. What vets do you suggest? That's way down the list. This was about Dr.
• 10:09
Noel. We're not even, we're not there yet. That's where we, that's where Rainbow is. See? It all comes back to bicycles. [laughs] I shit you not. Well played, sir. Well played. Yeah.
• 10:18
Yeah, you just gotta grab your socks and hose and pull, and woo-hoo. JK's not the color guy for nothing, folks. [laughs] [laughs] Uh, on a, on a kinda bummer note, uh, our buddy Todd passed. Yeah. Who?
• 10:33
Todd, he, he was always on Steel Is Real. Locksmith? Locksmith. Super nice guy. Wait, the guy UWM locksmith? Yep, that guy. Yep. What happened? Uh- He had some issues... don't know.
• 10:43
He was- Well, he was a pretty heavy drinker... he was sleeping in bed and didn't recover from the sleep. Mm. So- He had, like, he had a stroke or two or something, I thought- Well-... a couple of years back or something.
• 10:55
Wow. I'm not sure. That's a bummer. Main deal about him is- There was something where it was affected, I can remember that... right, and he was, but he was on every Steel Is Real that I was ever on- Right, right...
• 11:02
I think. He was a, a real good supporter of that right there. Yeah, with his... What the hell was the bike? Uh, he- Something beat up... no, he had a couple of different bikes. Nope.
• 11:09
He had a Trek 400 that he got at a rummage sale. Yeah, but I can't... Takaras or something, too. Oh, God. Old, old school.
• 11:13
I'm gonna remember the name of it because it's just aggravating as hell to hear the, him say the words. Takara. Damn it, it's gonna drive me nuts. Takumsa. [laughs] I don't know. I, I'll- Yeah...
• 11:26
I'll remember it as well. [laughs] Yeah, right. It's already that time. [bell ringing] Ding-a-ding-a-ding-a. How did we get here? I don't know. We... top of the hill, I guess, or something.
• 11:35
That's what the tongue heads always ask. Well... Right? How did I get here? How did I get here? And the days go by. Uh, today, well, as we are making show, it is Cinco de Mayo. Olé. Si. So I don't know.
• 11:49
I, this stuff just jumped off the shelf at the old Otto's Liquor over there. Mm-hmm. It's, uh, it's Cutwater Tequila Margarita with natural orange, lime, and triple sec flavors.
• 12:00
It says it has two-plus shots of Cutwater tequila in this 12-ounce can. Huh. It's gluten-free and it's award-winning. Wait, it's two-plus? Like, they don't know if it's 2.2? It could be 2.8, could be six.
• 12:12
Well, it's not, what it is is not a malt liquor like your White Claw- No, it's-... or your other bullshittery drinks. This has actually got the- This is-... actual stuff in it. This is a 12-plus [laughs]...
• 12:21
12 and a half percent- Margarita. [laughs]... alcohol by volume margarita. Um, it is not super bitey. No. It's just sort of, uh- It's okay... unfortunately really drinkable. It's- [laughs] It's okay. That's danger.
• 12:34
Danger, danger. It's okay. Well, and, and- You know, it would go good with some more tequila. [laughs] Use this as a mixer. Yeah. What doesn't go good with more tequila? This is true. Good Lord.
• 12:44
[laughs] I mean scotch, I mean scotch doesn't go good with- That's kinda like when you were-... vomiting... when you were saying the White Claw. It's like, yeah, you use White Claw as a mixer- Right...
• 12:51
with vodka seltzer essentially. Yep. Oh, you jumped off the wagon hardcore, huh? Oh, hell no. [laughs] No, the, no, I'm m- I'm revisiting ass slides of my past- [laughs]...
• 13:00
knowing that that's one of them because you can't even modulate what the ABV you're putting into yourself with a 5% mixer and then however, eh, bored the, uh, or distracted the bartender or yourself is pouring this drink.
• 13:15
[laughs] You don't even know where you're going. Yeah. This is why maybe having a handle on what you're actually consuming is a good thing. Yeah. Amen. [laughs] Hallelujah. [laughs] What do you got today?
• 13:27
Uh, another Athletic Brewing Company, the Run Wild IPA. And I'm still amazed at it, every time you've opened one, now you've opened two of those now- Yeah...
• 13:36
in the, in the time that we've been here, and neither one- It-... of 'em has blown over the top, which has been my experience with Athletic. Um, perhaps I ov- maybe it was the jostling on the ride here to counteract.
• 13:50
Balanced it out. Yeah. I dunno, maybe you shake it up and it doesn't spray out of there. Exactly. Huh. Huh. That's like some- It's the upside down world... fuzzy logic for sure. Right?
• 13:58
Or they, or they figured things out. I mean, that's also a very distinct possibility, that somebody paid attention and went, "Huh, we have an issue. How do we-" Fuzzy Logic, isn't that the...
• 14:06
Oh, was that the Mud- what was the Mudhoney LP? [laughs] Goddammit. [laughs] Fuzzy Logic was a bad, like, fusion jazz band too if I remember. [laughs] I've had some fuzzy logic in my days. This is gonna drive me nuts.
• 14:20
Have you had any Fuzzy Navels? Whew. Remember those? Oh. Whoa. Those are popular. Doesn't that have peach in it too? Fucking great. I'm, I'm not drinking that. I'm sorry.
• 14:27
My grade school- So now we're talking about flashbacks from my time working in- See... working bar on Water Street, so yeah, stop. [laughs] Yeah. Yeah. It was pretty gross. Well, here's some bike news.
• 14:36
CAMBA trails are open. Whoa. Ooh. No Sealy Dave report this week, but I did get a note that all CAMBA trails are open according to their cambatrails.org website, so. We've been in a drought, so, uh, we- Yeah. Open her up
• 14:52
... ride 'em if you got 'em. Mm-hmm. Ride 'em if you got 'em. I think going up there several times a year is probably just what the doctor ordered. I think that's a very fair assessment. Hey, guess what else?
• 15:04
Tony's doing pushups. Mm-hmm. Tony's on a pushup plan. What's the goal, Tony? It's 100 a day for the month of May. Oh, I like that. Oh, it rhymes. Today I got 150 in just for fun. Nice.
• 15:19
Just do 25 quick, and then take a break and do 25 quick, and... I'll admit, I, uh, I, uh, I've backed off of that because injuries- S- you-... are as they are,
• 15:32
and I'm starting to look at doing wall pushups as a viable- Yeah... solution to this. Totally acceptable, man. I- You can even go on your knees if you want. It's- I-... not unacceptable...
• 15:41
I actually was up riding in Glacial Blue for my first time, Glacial Blue trails up in, um, um, where is that? Jesus. That is, is- Wausau? No. Not Wausau. Not, that's too far. But- Lay Cross? No. No, it's not that far.
• 15:57
Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. But, uh- Is it Packa? You gotta get, what, a regional- German town area... dialecture. Oh, wow. It's that close. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's, uh, it's...
• 16:08
And my first time ever riding the trails up there, and by all means, if you're in this neck of the woods and you're maybe hitting Northern Kettles and you're coming back and like, "Ah, I still got a little bit of, like, gas in the legs,"
• 16:20
worth the stop. Um, great glush- glacial drumlin trails. Uh, you get all the deposits. You have great ridge lines. You have great vistas.
• 16:29
I mean, it's, it's an, a, for a small trail system, there's a lot of punch, a lot of value, a lot of value to it. I highly recommend it. And- Is that near West Bend? That is, that is a lot of, lot of praise.
• 16:42
Yes, right by West Bend. Ah. Yes. Yeah, right outside of West Bend. Okay. Um- 'Cause that's on my f- It's almost a reason to visit West Bend. I know. Yeah. Actually is. Oh, no.
• 16:49
That's a, yeah, uh- But that's what I'm saying... Tim's son- If you're coming back from, like, the Northern Kettles-... moved out there... if you're, if- Don't like it... oh, sorry.
• 16:54
[laughs] If you're, if you're a Sconnie and you're like, you know, Southeastern Sconnie, you're going up to ride in Northern Kettles, it's hands down worth a, worth a trip because they've put some, they put some effort into it and they've...
• 17:06
It's great effort. It's good effort. Wisconsin was a Jeopardy! question for tonight. Was it? Yeah. Oh, I didn't watch. What was the question? It was, uh- What was the answer? The, the answer was Wisconsinite.
• 17:17
It was, you know, some people may call these people... Some may refer to these people of, as Wisconsinians, but what do they go by besides cheesehead? Wisconsinite. Well- Wisconsinite... yeah. But so nobody on Jeopardy!
• 17:30
was from Wisconsin, or did they- No, they got it. One of 'em got it. The other one was up, y- you... These people are called Yoopers. The- I'm like, come on. Really, man? Is it this easy? [laughs] The Yoopers?
• 17:40
The Yoopers. Yoopers. What state are they from? I'm like, really? That's not even Wisconsin. Molly thinks they're dumbing down the questions. It should be, but- Well-... here we are... that is- Yeah...
• 17:48
that is a, a very good point. It is connected to Wisconsin and not to the- Not to Michigan... lower part of Michigan at all.
• 17:53
Yeah, the- But it's good for all those people who live up there if they wanna go up and buy weed 'cause they- Go up there to Cop-... can quick go over the border and- Go up to the Copahaba. Go some rides- Copahaba...
• 18:01
in Copahaba. Yeah. Um, I've, it's, I spent many a fine weekend up at Marquette riding all their trails up there, and I will highly recommend the UP for, for, for off-road bicycle riding.
• 18:13
I think we've mentioned this in the past, but Marquette has such a great system for funding their tourism industry in general, but a lot of that is building trails for mountain bike type folks to show up there and ride on.
• 18:25
  Oh.
• 18:26
Um, they, they really do a good job of collecting money out of every hotel room rental that happens to make sure that Marquette's a place where you wanna go do stuff 'cause- They have a budget for it, so- And they got a big boy...
• 18:38
any other city that wants tourists- [laughs]... s- start making sure that you, you know, make your place a worthy of going to.
• 18:45
Well, and there is also in Marquette, like right in, pretty much right in downtown Marquette, there's a great public campground that has actually a beautiful view. Beautiful view.
• 18:55
And if you're a, a fishing kind of person, then you can definitely get into some trout up there. Definitely right in, right in downtown Marquette. Highly recommended. Highly recommended.
• 19:06
I was, uh, just watching some movie that had trout fishing, and again, not the trout fishing movie everybody watches, but some other one with trout fishing in it. I thought, by cracky, fly fishing is a pretty good thing.
• 19:17
I was just going out there with just, um, just really an open spool rule. You know, just going out there with, with the tackle that I had and it was, it was a good time.
• 19:27
You ever have one of those things- That was nice... that kind of pisses you off? What? You ever like- It really grinds your gears... just grinds your gears. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 19:35
Good, good, good allusion there, uh, JK. [laughs] Brompton, Brompton bicycles expands their product line at REI. Ew. Right? That's kind of what I thought. Yeah, those are real dead. Ew. I mean, I get it, but... Hmm.
• 19:48
That's a nest egg fit though. I mean, you can't really har- you know, harp on them too much because who's their clientele? Rich white people. [laughs] Yep. [laughs] And dang old. [laughs] Let's face it- I, I-...
• 20:01
that's why they're going... yep [laughs] I thought they had a diversity thing going on.
• 20:05
Well, of course everybody has a diversity thing going on now, but- I, I have a friend who works at REI and she sent me a picture of a Tern that was scratched and returned or something, and they still wanted like 800 bucks for this Tern folder.
• 20:23
And I- That's a nice bike though... she said it to me and she asked me, I'm like- That's a nice bike right there. That's a nice bike, Tony. Tony, that's a nice bike... like, I'm really...
• 20:27
Yeah, it is a nice bike, and $800 isn't a bad price, but when you work, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, at a bike shop, you can get it for even better without a scratch. And- I don't know about that. Well. Not for you.
• 20:40
Well, these are COVID times, so- Yeah, that's-... there- therefore- That is true... first of all, working at a bike shop gives you a warped sense of the value of things. Eh. Totally. Absolutely. Eh.
• 20:50
So- As somebody who- You know. You know what I'm saying... spent 28 years in the industry, yes [laughs] I do like Tern bikes. I really do.
• 20:54
Um, I also, the Dahon Folder we looked at at that show right before COVID closed it down was, uh- Oh, the CAMBA show? That was, that was- Or, uh-... pretty nice... CAPRA? Yep... um, they...
• 21:03
I still think Dahon makes a nice higher end folding bike- I liked it... if you go to their higher end lines and- Absolutely... their e-bikes are pretty cool.
• 21:12
We're definitely gonna have something of that nature when we can actually open the shop doors again. Mm-hmm. Most likely up at the new spot. Hey, guess what? We're getting a door at the new spot. Mm. Mm.
• 21:20
And I think we're get- Got electric too... I think we're getting power. No, they were just, they brought a 400 amp breaker in and they're doing 480 volt to the other building, and things are moving along. Nice.
• 21:30
Are you gonna have 220 up there or are you just gonna be running 110? Things are moving right along. Well, we could have 220 if it were needed for somebody welding something or some such. Mm-hmm.
• 21:37
But, uh, I, it's super easy to do, it's just not in, in the- It's just like 110 twice... it's not in the box yet. But yeah, right. You can always just- It's like 110 twice... bridge it.
• 21:46
You can- Always, always better to have it... you can bridge it, baby. Always better to have it- And not need it... and not need it. Right... but you can just bridge it anyway, so we, we could make that work.
• 21:55
Just get some clamps and clamp them on the main and don't worry about it. [laughs] Fine. We used to have to do that with floor machines, 'cause a 220 floor machine, almost nobody had 220 in their house, and you just...
• 22:06
Don't worry about it. [laughs] Tony did pushups, Brompton at REI, going to Decorah. Oh, uh- Oh, oh. Oh, wait. Yep. Yep. JK. Oh. JK. Yeah, yeah. What? But, but...
• 22:20
JK found the kick-assest video I've seen since that- [laughs]... crazy downhill Brazil thing- Yeah... with the dog chasing alongside the guy as they go down, down, down- Nearly... Yeah...
• 22:32
downstairs and down things, down the mountain. Mm. Oh, that's so cool. But this is- Man, it was a great video... well, I'll let JK tell you, 'cause it's pretty kick-ass. Super great. No, it's, uh,
• 22:41
I guess there's like 300 kilometers of catacombs, like, not accessible normally to the public. But- I know what you're talking about... [laughs] like, there's like- Great video...
• 22:52
there's like seven that is, like, tourist access, and then there's the cool access. Kind of like doing sewer tour and whatever, and this guy just fucking rips it.
• 23:02
I only watched part of it at, and then I watched all of it while we were here before. [laughs] Yeah, bombing down those steps- It's pretty insane... in about a, what? 18-inch wide catacomb. Oh, it's out- It's, it's-...
• 23:12
of its fucking-... it's barely n- it's barely wider than your shoulders. Yeah, you aren't running wide bars in this thing. No. I think he had cut down bars on that bike. Mm. I'm pretty sure.
• 23:19
Those, those were not 800 plus bars on there. No. No, but that was an amazing, amazing video. I was surprised- Well, they may have started out that way, but maybe they just zeroed through.
• 23:29
[laughs] Just rubbing them off on the- Ride 'em down... on the concrete. [laughs] Ride 'em up. Stop. Readjust the shifter. Slide the grips over. Ride 'em down. Right on.
• 23:38
That's, that's why it's nice to have just, uh, you know, the new, you know, well they're not new anymore, but the, you know, the, the screw on... What do they call that thing? L- lock on grips. Oh, yeah.
• 23:47
And that way you can just loosen them up, push them in, don't worry about it. Yeah. Or you just have the, uh, the, the OD handlebars where you can just, like,
• 23:54
unthread the ends, so now you're down to a 760 as opposed to the 800. Oh, I like that idea. Well, I mean, it's- That's a good idea. That's not a bad idea. I like that idea.
• 24:03
I mean, they don't, they don't come out with terribly innovative products terribly very often, but when they do it's like- It's pretty brilliant... well, that makes, that makes perfect sense.
• 24:12
Were they the ones with the heated grips or was that Amy? What's up? Somebody had- Amy had. Yeah. Yeah. Somebody had heated- I mean, they didn't last long... grips that didn't last that long. Oh, Odi. Odi did that too.
• 24:21
  Did they? Yeah.
• 24:21
And I think Amy did as well, and there was some other company I think that did it as well, but- I, I don't have it handy, but I'm gonna forward you the most ridiculous, not necessary invention that Kickstarter just recently had for this light that's available in Europe that's- Europe...
• 24:36
it's got, I, I'm just, I'll let you put it in the notes because- Oh, it's just a really ridiculously stupid light. And it's like- I'll, I'll, I'll take your stupid light and put it in the...
• 24:46
and it's how- And it's new and improved... and it's- I mean, it's- Why, why is it stupid? Because, I mean, you're leaving us hanging here, and especially us in the studio. I'm gonna find it. I'm gonna find it.
• 24:55
But why is it stupid? Why is it stupid? It's cliffhanger. It, it's- Join us next time-... you mount, you mount a piece onto your-... at the next captivating episode... seat post, and then this magnetizes to it.
• 25:05
And they're like, "Well, let's, you know..." And then you can flex it either left or right or up. And it's just otherwise it's just an LED light, but it's flexible. Humph. And it has this magnetic attachment.
• 25:16
I'm like, "Because regular light attachments are difficult to operate?" Maybe. Well, silicone straps are very difficult, yes. You know? Strap-ons. Yep. I, I was going to... I was avoiding all those conversations.
• 25:29
[laughs] I was r- uh, all those comments that just like, he just starts putting out and like... [laughs] So tomorrow, tomorrow, everybody, s- it's, uh, Chewie's Salon Chair Number 3 on, on- Tomorrow? Where is he?
• 25:43
Well, he, he went up to Minneapolis to visit with Hurll, who is moving to Portland, Oregon. So Tommy
• 25:52
Hurll Everson has been in the bike biz forever, and is a writer of words and maker of things, and not the least of which is Cars Are Coffins. Yeah. Some of the, some of the most...
• 26:03
Didn't you have some car- [laughs] You had some gloves for a while there from Hurll. Yeah. Cars Are Coffins. Somebody fucked off with 'em. Somebody, somebody stole those Cars Are Coffins gloves- Exactly...
• 26:10
'cause they're so badass. And some, and my, uh, water bottle- I had that one... many moons ago. So, uh, so check out Chewie's- Shout out to salon chairs... Salon Chair Number 3. Don't. I will, God damn it.
• 26:21
[laughs] Which, again, to be fair, was not in a salon chair. [laughs] So, uh, yeah. Salon. If you have to say it like salon. What in the hell is that? It gives you mileage. Why would you even ask?
• 26:33
I sent you six, I sent you six cycles email, but- That's a, that's a, that's a red light tint, or taint tinkler if I ever- Yeah, that, that's- Whoa, yeah... sort of a form solve part.
• 26:39
That's solving a problem that did not exist. So we're not talking about Hurll here. It's... [laughs] We're talking about the, uh, the, the, the, the most ridiculous thing that- Bike light thing...
• 26:49
thing that Tony found on- Kickstarter, baby. [laughs] And it is a red light tin- taint tinkler, if I ever saw one. I mean... I, it, it- It's right up Hurll's alley. [laughs] It is.
• 27:04
You can use it right, left, or up, but not down. [laughs] Oh, man. Gosh, no way. Do not even think of using it down. Well, thank God. Day or night, left or right, the- Thank God this is how we're leaving this show...
• 27:17
eyeball. We're talking about taint ticklers and whatnot. It's the L- Super Fuzz Big Muff. Oh my God, it's called the L Bow. Super Fuzz Big Muff was the name of- Oh, the sound garden. No, no, no. Oh. Yeah.
• 27:26
The letter L and B-O-W- The Mudhoney album. Yep, the Mudhoney album... dash L dash Bow. Which- The fuzzy-... was- It's just the wrong... was a great album. Hell yeah. Boy, that was an amazing album. It's just a bad idea.
• 27:37
Yes. All right, everybody. Thanks for listening. Th- thanks for tuning in, and, uh, by cracky we'll be back next week, unless, uh, something catastrophic happens. Yeah. Touch me, I'm sick.
• 27:47
  [upbeat rock music] We
