Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Thank you nice crowd. What a
- 0:10Speaker 1: good looking group of people. Well, we have some very
- 0:13Speaker 1: very good news today, and a lot of good things
- 0:16Speaker 1: are happening for our country. Please sit down, my fellow Americans.
- 0:21Speaker 1: This is liberation Day waiting for a long time. April second,
- 0:29Speaker 1: twenty twenty five will forever be remembered as the day
- 0:33Speaker 1: American industry was reborn, the day America's destiny was reclaimed,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and the day that we began to make America wealthy again,
- 0:45Speaker 1: going to make it wealthy, good and wealthy. For decades,
- 0:48Speaker 1: our country has been looted, pillage, raped, and plundered by
- 0:52Speaker 1: nations near and far, both friend and foe alike. American
- 0:57Speaker 1: steel workers, auto workers, farmers, and ill craftsmen. We have
- 1:01Speaker 1: a lot of them here with us today. They really
- 1:04Speaker 1: suffered gravely. They watched in anguish as foreign leaders have
- 1:09Speaker 1: stolen our jobs. Foreign cheaters have ransacked our factories, and
- 1:14Speaker 1: foreign scavengers have torn apart our once beautiful American dream.
- 1:18Speaker 1: We had an American dream that you don't hear so
- 1:21Speaker 1: much about. You did four years ago and you are now,
- 1:24Speaker 1: But you know too often, and for many years and
- 1:27Speaker 1: decades even you didn't hear too much about our country
- 1:30Speaker 1: and its taxpayers have been ripped off for more than
- 1:33Speaker 1: fifty years. But it is not going to happen anymore.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's not gonna happen. In a few moments, I will
- 1:45Speaker 1: sign a historic executive order instituting reciprocal tariffs on countries
- 1:51Speaker 1: throughout the world. Reciprocal That means they do it to
- 1:55Speaker 1: us and we do it to them.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Very simple. Can't get any simpler than that.
- 2:03Speaker 1: This is one of the most important days, in my opinion,
- 2:06Speaker 1: in American history. It's our declaration of economic independence. For years,
- 2:13Speaker 1: hard working American citizens were forced to sit on the
- 2:16Speaker 1: sidelines as other nations got rich and powerful, much of
- 2:21Speaker 1: it at our expense. But now it's our turn to
- 2:24Speaker 1: prosper and in so doing, use trillions and trillions of
- 2:28Speaker 1: dollars to reduce our taxes and pay down our national debt.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And it'll all happen very quickly. With today's action, we
- 2:36Speaker 1: are finally going to be able to make America great again,
- 2:40Speaker 1: greater than ever before. Jobs and factories will come roaring
- 2:50Speaker 1: back into our country, and you see it happening already.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We will supercharge our domestic industrial base. We will pry
- 2:58Speaker 1: open foreign markets and break down foreign trade barriers, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: ultimately more production at home will mean stronger competition and
- 3:06Speaker 1: lower prices for consumers. This will be indeed the golden
- 3:11Speaker 1: age of American It's coming back.
- 3:13Speaker 2: We're going to come back very strongly.
- 3:19Speaker 1: We're pleased to be joined on this momentous occasion by
- 3:23Speaker 1: Vice President JD vance at JD.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, Thank you very much. Are you JD?
- 3:33Speaker 2: It's that wasn't too hard to find. I was looking.
- 3:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:39Speaker 1: He likes to take a low key attitude, and usually
- 3:41Speaker 1: we said right in front.
- 3:42Speaker 2: He's gaining a lot of confidence.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Mike is, and nearly my entire cabinet is here as
- 3:48Speaker 1: well as Speaker Mike Johnson has done an amazing job.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And with the great success we had last night in Florida,
- 3:59Speaker 1: we have a majority of seven, and seven's like a
- 4:03Speaker 1: lot when we had it at one. You've done a
- 4:06Speaker 1: fantastic job, and many of the members of the House
- 4:10Speaker 1: and senator with us. Senators, Congressman, thank you all for
- 4:13Speaker 1: being with us. We appreciate it. For decades, the United
- 4:16Speaker 1: States slashed our trade barriers and other countries, while those
- 4:20Speaker 1: nations placed massive tariffs on our products and created outrageous
- 4:25Speaker 1: non monetary barriers to decimate our industries. And in many
- 4:29Speaker 1: cases the non monetary barriers were worse than the monetary ones.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They manipulated their currencies, subsidized their exports, stole our intellectual property,
- 4:41Speaker 1: imposed exorbitant vat taxes to disadvantage our products, adopted unfair
- 4:47Speaker 1: rules and technical standards, and created filthy pollution havens. They
- 4:51Speaker 1: were absolutely filthy, but they always came to us and
- 4:55Speaker 1: they said, we're violating.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We should pay for it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's all detailed, very big report by the US Trade
- 5:02Speaker 1: Representative on foreign trade barriers, and I'll just hold it
- 5:06Speaker 1: up for you. It's available, and you don't have to
- 5:10Speaker 1: pay too much.
- 5:10Speaker 2: As I understand it, you'll pay nothing.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's a lot of work, a lot of work for something, actually,
- 5:16Speaker 1: because it's a special it's a special book. It's very frankly,
- 5:20Speaker 1: it's very upsetting when you read it, when you see
- 5:23Speaker 1: what people have been doing to us for thirty years.
- 5:26Speaker 1: This all happened with no response from the United States
- 5:29Speaker 1: of America, none whatsoever.
- 5:32Speaker 2: But those days are over.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Let me offer just a few examples of the vicious
- 5:36Speaker 1: attacks workers have faced for so many years. The United
- 5:41Speaker 1: States charges other countries only a two point four tariff
- 5:46Speaker 1: on motorcycles. Meanwhile, Thailand and others are charging much higher prices,
- 5:53Speaker 1: like sixty percent. India charges seventy percent, Vietnam charges seventy
- 5:58Speaker 1: five percent, and others are even higher than that. Likewise,
- 6:02Speaker 1: until today, the United States has for decades charged a
- 6:06Speaker 1: two point five tariff. Think of that two point five
- 6:09Speaker 1: percent on foreign made automobiles. The European Union charges US
- 6:15Speaker 1: more than ten percent tariffs, and they have twenty percent
- 6:20Speaker 1: vats much much higher. India charges seventy percent, and perhaps
- 6:24Speaker 1: worst of all, of the non monetary restrictions imposed by
- 6:28Speaker 1: South Korea, Japan and very many other nations. As a
- 6:31Speaker 1: result of these colossal trade barriers, eighty one percent of
- 6:36Speaker 1: the cars in South care are made in South Korea.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Ninety four percent of the cars in Japan are made
- 6:43Speaker 1: in Japan. Toyota sells one million foreign made automobiles into
- 6:48Speaker 1: the United States, and general motor cells almost none.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Ford sells very little.
- 6:54Speaker 1: None of our companies are allowed to go into other countries.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And I say that friend, and and in many cases
- 7:01Speaker 1: the friend is worse than the foe in terms of trade.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But such horrendous imbalances have devastated our industrial base and
- 7:09Speaker 1: put our national security at risk. I don't blame these
- 7:14Speaker 1: other countries at all for this calamity. I blame former
- 7:17Speaker 1: presidents and past leaders who weren't doing their job. They
- 7:19Speaker 1: let it happen, and they let it happen to an
- 7:22Speaker 1: extent that nobody can even believe. That's why, effective at midnight,
- 7:26Speaker 1: we will impose a twenty five percent tariff on all
- 7:29Speaker 1: forar and made automobiles.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Thank you, Brian. I'd like to have you come up
- 7:40Speaker 2: here for a second.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Okay, I just see him saying he's been a fan
- 7:44Speaker 1: of ours, and he understands this business a lot better
- 7:48Speaker 1: than the economists, a lot better than anybody.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Brian, say a few words. Please, would you? Thank you,
- 7:53Speaker 2: Thank you. It's great honor to have you. Thanks, thank you,
- 7:56Speaker 2: mister President.
- 7:57Speaker 3: I grew up just north of Detroit, Michigan and Combe County,
- 8:01Speaker 3: known as the home of the Reagan Democrats. My first
- 8:04Speaker 3: vote for president was for Ronald Reagan. I thought that
- 8:07Speaker 3: was gonna be the best president I ever saw in
- 8:09Speaker 3: my lifetime until Donald J. Trump came along. I have
- 8:15Speaker 3: watched my entire life, I have watched plant after plant
- 8:19Speaker 3: after plant in Detroit and in the Metro Detroit area close.
- 8:24Speaker 3: There are now plants sitting idle. There are now plants
- 8:27Speaker 3: that are underutilized. And Donald Trump's policies are gonna bring
- 8:32Speaker 3: product back into those underutilized plants. There's gonna be new investment,
- 8:36Speaker 3: there's gonna be new plants built. And the UAW members
- 8:40Speaker 3: and I brought twenty of them with me, they're sitting
- 8:43Speaker 3: right over here. We support Donald Trump's policies on tariffs
- 8:48Speaker 3: one hundred percent. So, mister President, we can't thank you enough.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And in six months or a year, we're gonna begin
- 8:55Speaker 3: to see the benefits. I can't wait to see what's
- 8:57Speaker 3: happening three or four years down the road. Thank you,
- 9:00Speaker 3: mister President, so much.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 9:04Speaker 1: What a great guy. He got it right from the beginning.
- 9:07Speaker 1: He got it before almost anybody else. This group over there,
- 9:10Speaker 1: they got it too. And you know, we won the
- 9:13Speaker 1: state of Michigan. We won almost all of them, but
- 9:17Speaker 1: we won Michigan.
- 9:18Speaker 2: By a lot. And I want to just thank you all.
- 9:20Speaker 1: The auto workers were fantastic, the teamsters were fantastic. Everyone
- 9:25Speaker 1: who's pretty good, I will tell you, thank you very much.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I appreciate it. You're going to be very happy very soon.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And you probably see what's happening with all of the
- 9:35Speaker 1: not only car companies, but car companies in particular, see
- 9:38Speaker 1: it with all of the ones they're moving, they're announcing
- 9:42Speaker 1: day in day out.
- 9:43Speaker 2: You're seeing it. Nobody's ever seen anything like that.
- 9:46Speaker 1: With today's actions, we're also standing up for our great
- 9:49Speaker 1: farmers and ranchers who are brutalized by nations all.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Over the world. Brutalized.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Canada, by the way, imposes a two one hundred and
- 10:00Speaker 1: fifty to three hundred percent tariff on many of our
- 10:03Speaker 1: dairy products. They do the first, the first can of milk,
- 10:08Speaker 1: they do the first little carton of milk at at
- 10:10Speaker 1: very low price. But after that it gets bad and
- 10:13Speaker 1: then it gets up to two hundred and seventy five
- 10:15Speaker 1: three hundred percent. So when they're figuring what's Canada charging,
- 10:19Speaker 1: they say, oh, about two percent three percent. But take
- 10:22Speaker 1: a look at what happens down the road when you
- 10:24Speaker 1: look a little bit, it's not a pretty picture. And
- 10:27Speaker 1: we don't like it, and it's not fair. It's not
- 10:29Speaker 1: fair to our farmers, it's not fair to our country.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And with countries like Canada. You know, we subsidize a
- 10:36Speaker 1: lot of countries and keep them going and keep them
- 10:39Speaker 1: in business. In the case of Mexico, it's three hundred
- 10:42Speaker 1: billion dollars a year, in the case of Canada, it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: close to two hundred billion dollars a year. And they say,
- 10:48Speaker 1: why are we doing this? Why are we doing this?
- 10:50Speaker 1: I mean, at what point do we say you got
- 10:53Speaker 1: to work for yourselves, and you got to This is
- 10:55Speaker 1: why we have the big deficits.
- 10:57Speaker 2: This is why we have.
- 10:58Speaker 1: That amount of debt that's been placed on our heads
- 11:02Speaker 1: over the last number of years, and we're really not
- 11:05Speaker 1: taking it anymore.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Through non tariff barriers.
- 11:08Speaker 1: The European Union bands imports of most American poultry.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You understand.
- 11:13Speaker 1: They say, we want to send you our cars, we
- 11:15Speaker 1: want to send you everything, but we're not going to
- 11:17Speaker 1: take anything that you have. Australia bands and they're wonderful
- 11:22Speaker 1: people and wonderful everything, but they ban American beef. Yet
- 11:26Speaker 1: we imported three billion dollars of Australian beef from them
- 11:30Speaker 1: just last year alone. They won't take any of our beef.
- 11:33Speaker 1: They don't want it because they don't want it to
- 11:35Speaker 1: affect their farmers, and you know what, I don't blame them,
- 11:38Speaker 1: but we're doing the same thing right now, starting about
- 11:41Speaker 1: midnight tonight, I would say. And China charges American rice
- 11:49Speaker 1: farmers and over quota.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It's called a tariff.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Raid of sixty five percent. South Korea charges fifty. Actually
- 11:57Speaker 1: they charge different from fifty percent to five one hundred
- 12:00Speaker 1: and thirteen percent. In Japan, our friend charges a seven
- 12:05Speaker 1: hundred percent, but that's because they don't want to selling
- 12:07Speaker 1: rice another Who can blame them, Madam Secretary Agriculture, Great
- 12:13Speaker 1: job you did on eggs. By the way, the egg
- 12:14Speaker 1: prices came down fifty percent. You got them down fifty
- 12:18Speaker 1: percent once we got involved. They were going through the sky,
- 12:22Speaker 1: the egg prices, they were going through the sky, and
- 12:25Speaker 1: you did a fantastic job. Now we have lots of
- 12:27Speaker 1: eggs and they're much cheaper, down about fifty nine percent now,
- 12:31Speaker 1: and they're going down further. We charged two point eight
- 12:36Speaker 1: percent for so many things that other countries are charging
- 12:39Speaker 1: two hundred percent, three hundred percent, then four hundred percent
- 12:43Speaker 1: for If imposing tariffs and protective barriers made nations poor,
- 12:48Speaker 1: then every country on Earth would be racing to eliminate
- 12:51Speaker 1: these policies, and China would be.
- 12:53Speaker 2: The first online.
- 12:54Speaker 1: They've run a very strong country, but they're not first
- 12:59Speaker 1: in line, and the American people.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Are paying a very big price.
- 13:03Speaker 1: From seventeen eighty nine to nineteen thirteen, we were a
- 13:09Speaker 1: tariff backed nation in the United States was proportionately the
- 13:12Speaker 1: wealthiest it has ever been.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So wealthy, in fact, that.
- 13:15Speaker 1: In the eighteen eighties they established a commission to decide
- 13:20Speaker 1: what they were going to do with the vast.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Sums of money they were collecting.
- 13:24Speaker 1: We were collecting so much money so fast, we didn't
- 13:26Speaker 1: know what to do with it.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Isn't that a nice problem to have?
- 13:29Speaker 1: What do you think, Marco? Good problem? Marco would love
- 13:32Speaker 1: that problem. But we don't have that problem anymore. But
- 13:37Speaker 1: we're not going to have it very much longer, I
- 13:39Speaker 1: will tell you. But they collected so much money they
- 13:42Speaker 1: actually formed a commission to determine what.
- 13:44Speaker 2: They were going to do with the money, who they
- 13:46Speaker 2: were going to give it to, and how much.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Then in nineteen thirteen, for reasons unknown to mankind, they
- 13:52Speaker 1: established the income tax so that citizens, rather than foreign countries,
- 13:56Speaker 1: would start paying the money necessary to run our government. Then,
- 14:00Speaker 1: in nineteen twenty nine, it all came to a very
- 14:03Speaker 1: abrupt end with a great depression, and it would have
- 14:06Speaker 1: never happened. If they had stayed with the tariff policy,
- 14:09Speaker 1: it would have been a much different story. They tried
- 14:11Speaker 1: to bring back tariffs to save our.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Country, but it was gone. It was gone.
- 14:18Speaker 1: It was too late, nothing could have been done. Took
- 14:20Speaker 1: years and years to get out of that depression, far
- 14:23Speaker 1: longer than even FDR had that office right over there
- 14:27Speaker 1: for a long period of time. The ramp system, it's
- 14:30Speaker 1: rather intricate, was built because of him, and every time.
- 14:34Speaker 2: You walk up you think of him.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And he did a great job in many ways, but
- 14:38Speaker 1: it lasted long beyond his terms, as you know.
- 14:42Speaker 2: But it's not too late any longer.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And we're going to start being smart, and we're going
- 14:48Speaker 1: to start being very wealthy again. We're going to be
- 14:50Speaker 1: wealthy as a country because they've taken so much of
- 14:52Speaker 1: our wealth away from us.
- 14:54Speaker 2: We're not going to let that happen. We truly can
- 14:57Speaker 2: be very wealthy.
- 14:57Speaker 1: We can be so much wealthier than any country, it's
- 15:00Speaker 1: not even believable.
- 15:01Speaker 2: But we're getting smart.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Nearly a century later, in the face of unrelenting economic warfare,
- 15:07Speaker 1: the United States can no longer continue with a policy
- 15:10Speaker 1: of unilateral economic surrender. We cannot pay the deficits of
- 15:15Speaker 1: Canada and Mexico and so many other countries. We used
- 15:18Speaker 1: to do it, we can't do it anymore. We take
- 15:20Speaker 1: care of countries all over the world. We pay for
- 15:22Speaker 1: the military, we pay for everything they have to pay.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And then when you want to cut.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Back a little bit, they get upset that you're not
- 15:29Speaker 1: taking care of them any longer. But we have to
- 15:31Speaker 1: take care of our people, and we're going to take
- 15:33Speaker 1: care of our people first.
- 15:34Speaker 2: And I'm sorry to say that.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And today we're standing up for the American worker and
- 15:44Speaker 1: we are finally putting America first. In Sleepy Joe Biden's
- 15:55Speaker 1: last year in office, the United States hemorrhaged one hundred
- 15:58Speaker 1: thousand manufacturers jobs and the number was going through the
- 16:02Speaker 1: roof at levels never seen before. And our trade deficit
- 16:06Speaker 1: reached a record one point two trillion dollars, which is
- 16:11Speaker 1: unheard of since the beginning of NAFTA, the worst trade
- 16:15Speaker 1: deal ever made. It was a horror show. I was
- 16:17Speaker 1: able to determine it. They all said, you'd never be able to.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Get it out.
- 16:21Speaker 1: We had to get approval from Congress to get it terminated.
- 16:25Speaker 2: We had to live with that deal.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It was the worst deal, worst trade deal ever made
- 16:28Speaker 1: by far. But since the very beginning of NAFTA, our
- 16:32Speaker 1: country lost ninety thousand factories. Think of what that is,
- 16:36Speaker 1: ninety thousand. Think about putting a map up and putting
- 16:40Speaker 1: tacks on it.
- 16:41Speaker 2: You wouldn't have enough room. Ninety thousand, I said, is
- 16:43Speaker 2: that possible?
- 16:44Speaker 1: We had it checked four different times and it was
- 16:47Speaker 1: actually somewhat.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Higher than that.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And five million manufacturing jobs were lost while racking up
- 16:53Speaker 1: trade deficits of nineteen trillion dollars.
- 16:57Speaker 2: That was the worst trade deal ever made.
- 17:00Speaker 1: As a result of these gigantic losses, foreign nations now
- 17:03Speaker 1: own twenty six trillion dollars more of American assets, and
- 17:07Speaker 1: Americans think of this than the Americans own of their
- 17:11Speaker 1: own foreign assets or other foreign assets. The United States
- 17:15Speaker 1: can no longer produce enough antibiotics to treat our sick.
- 17:20Speaker 1: We have a tremendous problem. We have to go to
- 17:22Speaker 1: foreign countries to treat our sick. If anything ever happened
- 17:25Speaker 1: from a war standpoint, we wouldn't be able to do it.
- 17:28Speaker 1: We import virtually all of our computers, phones, televisions and electronics.
- 17:33Speaker 1: We used to dominate the field, and now we import
- 17:36Speaker 1: it all from different countries. A single shipyard in China
- 17:40Speaker 1: now produces more ships every year than all of the
- 17:44Speaker 1: American shipyards combined. Think of that, and it was a
- 17:47Speaker 1: business that we used to dominate. We used to dominate
- 17:50Speaker 1: it totally. In short, chronic trade deficits are no longer
- 17:53Speaker 1: merely an economic problem.
- 17:55Speaker 2: They're a national.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Emergency that threatens our security and our very way of life.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's a very great threat to our country, and for
- 18:04Speaker 1: these reasons. Starting tomorrow, the United States will implement reciprocal
- 18:08Speaker 1: tariffs on other nations.
- 18:10Speaker 2: It's been a long time since we even thought of that.
- 18:14Speaker 2: We used to think about it a lot.
- 18:16Speaker 1: We didn't think about it for many decades, and you
- 18:19Speaker 1: see what's happened for.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Nations that treat us badly.
- 18:22Speaker 1: We will calculate the combined rate of all their tariffs,
- 18:25Speaker 1: non monetary barriers, and other forms of cheating. And because
- 18:30Speaker 1: we are being very kind, we're kind people, very kind.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You're not so kind when you get ripped off with
- 18:37Speaker 2: your salaries.
- 18:39Speaker 1: My autoworker friends and my teamster friends, and all of
- 18:43Speaker 1: the unions that typically voted Democrat. They're not voting Democrat
- 18:46Speaker 1: anymore because worker, whether union or non worker, they're for
- 18:50Speaker 1: the Republicans.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Now, that's what happened. But we will.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Charge them approximately half of what they are and have
- 18:58Speaker 1: been charging us, so the tariffs will be not a
- 19:03Speaker 1: full reciprocal. I could have done that, yes, but it
- 19:06Speaker 1: would have been tough for a lot of countries. We
- 19:09Speaker 1: didn't want to do that. I'd like to see the chart.
- 19:11Speaker 1: If you have it, could you bring it up, Howard.
- 19:14Speaker 1: This is our great Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnek.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 19:22Speaker 1: So if you look at that China first row, China,
- 19:27Speaker 1: sixty seven percent, that's tariff charged to the USA, including
- 19:33Speaker 1: currency manipulation and trade barriers. So sixty seven percent. I
- 19:38Speaker 1: think you can, for the most part see it. Those
- 19:40Speaker 1: with good eyes with bad eyes. We didn't want to
- 19:42Speaker 1: bring the it's very windy out here. We didn't want
- 19:44Speaker 1: to bring out the big charts because it had no
- 19:46Speaker 1: chance of standing. Fortunately, we came armed with a little
- 19:50Speaker 1: smaller chart. So sixty seven percent. So we're going to
- 19:54Speaker 1: be charging a discounted reciprocal tariff of thirty four percent.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I think in otherwise they charge us we charge them.
- 20:01Speaker 1: We charge them less, So how can anybody be upset?
- 20:04Speaker 1: They will be because we never charge anybody anything. But
- 20:07Speaker 1: now we're gonna charge European Union. They're very tough, very
- 20:12Speaker 1: very tough traders.
- 20:15Speaker 2: You know, you think of European Union, very friendly. They
- 20:18Speaker 2: rip us off. It's so sad to see, it's so pathetic.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Thirty nine percent.
- 20:23Speaker 1: We're gonna charge them twenty percent, So we're charging them
- 20:26Speaker 1: potentially half. Vietnam great negotiators, great people.
- 20:31Speaker 2: They like me. I like them.
- 20:32Speaker 1: The problem is they charge us ninety percent. We're gonna
- 20:35Speaker 1: charge them forty six percent tariff. Taiwan where they make
- 20:40Speaker 1: they took all of our computer chips and semiconductors. We
- 20:44Speaker 1: used to be the king, right, we were everything. We
- 20:47Speaker 1: had all of it. Now we have almost none of it.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Except the biggest company is coming in. They're gonna have
- 20:51Speaker 1: We're gonna end up with almost forty percent.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Leez Elden's working to get their.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Approvals and it's an amazing company, mister way of one
- 21:00Speaker 1: of the great companies of the world. Actually, they're coming
- 21:02Speaker 1: in from Taiwan and they're got to build one of
- 21:04Speaker 1: the biggest plants in the world. Maybe the biggest for that,
- 21:08Speaker 1: but sixty four percent, we're gonna charge them thirty two percent. Japan,
- 21:12Speaker 1: very very tough, great people. And again I don't blame
- 21:17Speaker 1: the people for doing it. It's I think they're very
- 21:19Speaker 1: smart to do it. And I blame the people that
- 21:20Speaker 1: sat right in that oval office, right over there, right
- 21:23Speaker 1: behind the resolute deska, whichever death they chose. Japan forty
- 21:29Speaker 1: six percent, they would charge us forty six percent, and
- 21:32Speaker 1: much higher for certain items like cars, you know, little
- 21:35Speaker 1: items like cars, forty six percent. We're charging them twenty
- 21:38Speaker 1: four percent. India very very tough, very very tough. The
- 21:44Speaker 1: Prime Minister just left, and he's a great friend of mine.
- 21:47Speaker 1: But I said, you're a friend of mine, but you're
- 21:49Speaker 1: not treating us right. They charge us fifty two percent.
- 21:52Speaker 1: You have to n't stand. We charge them almost nothing
- 21:54Speaker 1: for years and years and decades. And it was only
- 21:59Speaker 1: seven years ago when I came in. We started with China, Georgia.
- 22:03Speaker 1: We took in hundreds of billions of dollars from China
- 22:07Speaker 1: in tariffs, and they understood. Honestly, Presidency understood. He said, look,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I understand, and the other countries and they all understand.
- 22:16Speaker 2: We're gonna have to.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Go through a little tough love maybe, but they all
- 22:19Speaker 1: understand they're ripping us off, and they understood it. Prime
- 22:23Speaker 1: Minister of Japan, Shinzo was Shinzo Abbi.
- 22:29Speaker 2: He was a fantastic man.
- 22:31Speaker 1: He was unfortunately taken from US assassination. But I went
- 22:35Speaker 1: to him and I said, Shinzo, we have to do
- 22:38Speaker 1: something at trade is not fair. He said, I know that.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I know that, and he was a great gentleman. He
- 22:45Speaker 1: was a fantastic man. But he understood immediately what I
- 22:50Speaker 1: was talking about. I said, Shinzo, we have to do something.
- 22:53Speaker 1: He said, I know that, and we've worked out a deal,
- 22:56Speaker 1: and it would have been a much better deal. But frankly,
- 22:59Speaker 1: there were many years and the deal that was made
- 23:01Speaker 1: previous to my getting there, but it was it was
- 23:03Speaker 1: something if you look at Switzerland sixty one percent to
- 23:07Speaker 1: thirty one percent, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia. Who look at Cambodia
- 23:12Speaker 1: ninety seven percent, we're going to bring it down to
- 23:16Speaker 1: forty nine. They made a fortune with the United States
- 23:18Speaker 1: of America, United Kingdom ten percent, and we'll go ten percent.
- 23:23Speaker 2: So we'll do the same thing.
- 23:25Speaker 1: South Africa, Oh, sixty percent, thirty percent, and they've got
- 23:29Speaker 1: some bad things going on in South Africa. You know,
- 23:33Speaker 1: we're paying them billions of dollars that we cut the
- 23:36Speaker 1: funding because a lot of bad things are happening in
- 23:38Speaker 1: South Africa.
- 23:39Speaker 2: The fake news ought to be looking at it. They
- 23:41Speaker 2: don't want to report it.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Brazil ten percent, ten percent, Bangladesh is seventy four percent,
- 23:48Speaker 1: so you see what's going on. Pakistan fifty eight percent,
- 23:53Speaker 1: Sri Lanka eighty eight percent.
- 23:57Speaker 2: So what we're doing is.
- 23:58Speaker 1: We're taking not the fall, could take the full eighty
- 24:00Speaker 1: eight percent.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Thanks a lot. He's doing a very good job. How's
- 24:03Speaker 2: he doing all right? I think you better take it
- 24:06Speaker 2: with you. It's not gonna last very long. He's gonna
- 24:09Speaker 2: put it.
- 24:10Speaker 1: It's gonna follow you down with the wind. I brought
- 24:13Speaker 1: a hat just in case you got too windy. But
- 24:15Speaker 1: here would anybody like a hat I'm giving I'm not
- 24:19Speaker 1: giving you to a cabinet. I'm giving it to the
- 24:21Speaker 1: auto workers, Thank you, fellas. Yeah, that's it, that's it.
- 24:33Speaker 1: They deserve it more than our cabinet. Our cabinet has
- 24:38Speaker 1: plenty of hats. But you see the numbers, The numbers
- 24:41Speaker 1: are so disproportionate, they're so unfair. At the same time,
- 24:45Speaker 1: we will establish a minimum baseline tariff of ten percent
- 24:49Speaker 1: you notice that on the chart, and that'll be on
- 24:52Speaker 1: other countries to help rebuild our economy and to prevent cheating.
- 24:56Speaker 2: So we're gonna have a minimum of cheating and we're.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Gonna be very and the people that at the gate
- 25:02Speaker 1: that watched the tariffs and watched the product coming in,
- 25:04Speaker 1: because there's been a lot of bad things happening at
- 25:08Speaker 1: the gate, because the money is so enormous that you're
- 25:10Speaker 1: talking about, there's never been probably anything like it in
- 25:14Speaker 1: terms of the enormity, and there are a lot of
- 25:17Speaker 1: bad things happen at the people that do the check in,
- 25:20Speaker 1: and they're looking at ten year jail sentences if they
- 25:23Speaker 1: do play, we're going to treat them so good. But
- 25:24Speaker 1: if they cheat, the repercussions are going to be extremely strong.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Foreign nations will finally be asked to pay for the
- 25:32Speaker 1: privilege of access to our market, the biggest market in
- 25:36Speaker 1: the world, where right now the biggest.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Market in the world.
- 25:38Speaker 1: We had a great country four years ago in terms
- 25:42Speaker 1: of the economics. We were doubling up on China, we
- 25:45Speaker 1: were doing so well, nobody was going to catch us,
- 25:47Speaker 1: but so much of it slipped away over the last
- 25:49Speaker 1: four years under Biden. I campaigned on this policy throughout
- 25:54Speaker 1: last year and today. That promise was made, and it
- 25:57Speaker 1: was also a promise, as you know, that was kept.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Promise is made, promises kept.
- 26:06Speaker 1: To any company that objects to our common sense reciprocal
- 26:09Speaker 1: tariffs again reciprocal, back and forth, back and forth, and
- 26:14Speaker 1: were I call this kind reciprocal. This is not full reciprocal.
- 26:19Speaker 1: This is kind reciprocal. But what we do is we
- 26:24Speaker 1: cut it in half.
- 26:25Speaker 2: We charge them. My answer is very simple.
- 26:27Speaker 1: If they complain, if you want you're tariff right to
- 26:30Speaker 1: be zero, then you build your product right here in
- 26:32Speaker 1: America because there is no tariff if you build.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Your plant, your product in America.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And we've seen companies coming in like we've never seen before. Likewise,
- 26:44Speaker 1: to all of the foreign presidents, prime ministers, kings, queens,
- 26:47Speaker 1: ambassadors and everyone else who will soon be calling to
- 26:51Speaker 1: ask for exemptions from these tariffs, I say, terminate your
- 26:56Speaker 1: own tariffs, drop your barriers, don't manipulate your currencies. They
- 27:01Speaker 1: manipulate their currencies like nobody can even believe, which is
- 27:05Speaker 1: a bad bad thing and very devastating to us and
- 27:08Speaker 1: start buying tens of billions of dollars of American goods.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Tariffs give our country protection against those that would do
- 27:15Speaker 1: us economic harm. And many people were looking to do
- 27:19Speaker 1: US economic arm. Maybe not so obviously, but they were
- 27:25Speaker 1: doing tremendous economic harm. But even more importantly, they will
- 27:29Speaker 1: give us growth. These tariffs are going to give us
- 27:31Speaker 1: growth like you haven't seen before, and it'll be something
- 27:35Speaker 1: very special to watch. I am so looking forward to, Brian.
- 27:39Speaker 1: It's gonna happen even faster than you said. You know,
- 27:41Speaker 1: you might, you might say, but it's already started. It's
- 27:45Speaker 1: already started. Work's already begun on plants all around the country.
- 27:50Speaker 1: And you see that as before. These are big rich companies.
- 27:53Speaker 1: We have sixty one billion dollars started on a big
- 27:57Speaker 1: plant going up. It's going to be announced over the
- 28:00Speaker 1: next two days. And they already started work. Many of
- 28:03Speaker 1: these biggest, the biggest companies in the world, they've committed to.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Build, the build to build. We're going to build, build, build.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Sir, And they came here to see me, and they
- 28:11Speaker 1: came wanted to know if they could have a press conference.
- 28:14Speaker 2: They do as many as I can.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I'm pretty busy trying to stop Russia and Ukraine and
- 28:19Speaker 1: the Middle East.
- 28:19Speaker 2: We got to stop that.
- 28:21Speaker 1: We're going to stop the hooties which were making tremendous
- 28:24Speaker 1: They like shooting ships down and out of the water
- 28:27Speaker 1: seeking chips. They get a kick out of it. But
- 28:29Speaker 1: they're not getting such a kick out of it now,
- 28:31Speaker 1: are they, mister Secretary. They're not getting such a kick
- 28:34Speaker 1: out of that now. But here are just a short
- 28:38Speaker 1: list of some of the companies that have already announced
- 28:41Speaker 1: and committed to investment. And this is a company that
- 28:46Speaker 1: built its factories and its plants in China. Apple is
- 28:50Speaker 1: going to spend five hundred billion dollars.
- 28:54Speaker 2: They never spent money like that here.
- 28:56Speaker 1: They're going to build their plants here, Soft Bank, Open
- 29:00Speaker 1: Ai and Oracle, great companies are investing five hundred billion dollars.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Almost immediately.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Navidia, a hot company, is investing hundreds of billions of dollars.
- 29:13Speaker 1: They just announced TSMC, the biggest most important company in
- 29:18Speaker 1: the world of chips from Taiwan with no investment from US,
- 29:22Speaker 1: is investing two hundred billion.
- 29:24Speaker 2: And they said the reason was number one.
- 29:26Speaker 1: The election of November fifth, and number two the tariffs.
- 29:30Speaker 1: They don't want to pay the tariffs, and the way
- 29:32Speaker 1: they're not paying it is to build their plan here.
- 29:34Speaker 1: So we're going to go from almost no percentage. We
- 29:37Speaker 1: used to have one hundred percent of the chip market.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Now it's all in Taiwan.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Almost all of it's in Taiwan, couple of other countries,
- 29:43Speaker 1: but mostly in Taiwan.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And think of it, we had one hundred percent.
- 29:47Speaker 1: We lost it because of people in that office that
- 29:50Speaker 1: didn't do their job.
- 29:51Speaker 2: They allowed it to be stolen from us. Johnson and
- 29:54Speaker 2: Johnson Great Company.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Fifty five billion dollars, ELI Lilly twenty seven billion, Meta
- 30:01Speaker 1: is investing five hundred billion dollars, while the MAC is
- 30:08Speaker 1: investing twenty billion, CMA, CGM twenty billion dollars. And then
- 30:13Speaker 1: you have Merk and Clariers, Stilantis, General Motors, GE Aerospace,
- 30:18Speaker 1: Honda and Nissan, Hyundai are all putting in billions and
- 30:23Speaker 1: billions of dollars and they're committed.
- 30:24Speaker 2: One hundred percent.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And we have never had We've never had And this
- 30:29Speaker 1: is after two and a half months. This is not
- 30:32Speaker 1: this is after just the short This all took place
- 30:35Speaker 1: as soon as we came out with what everybody wanted
- 30:38Speaker 1: to do. You know, I watched a gentleman today on television,
- 30:41Speaker 1: used to work with Leia Kokova, respected automobile person, and
- 30:45Speaker 1: he said, you know, because they're asking people, they try
- 30:49Speaker 1: and get as many negative people as they can, but
- 30:51Speaker 1: they can't find them too much. It's pretty hard to
- 30:53Speaker 1: find in terms of what we're doing, especially when they
- 30:55Speaker 1: see all this investment.
- 30:57Speaker 2: They said, so.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Tell me, what do you think of what is doing
- 31:00Speaker 1: from the automobile standpoint?
- 31:02Speaker 2: He said, I can't believe it.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Somebody is finally he's an older guy, real pro, really
- 31:09Speaker 1: top guy with Leiacoci said, I never thought i'd see
- 31:13Speaker 1: the day when this would happen where somebody had the
- 31:15Speaker 1: courage to go and do what has to be done.
- 31:17Speaker 1: This is transforming our nation. Our entire nation is going
- 31:21Speaker 1: to be transformed, not only with the cars, but on
- 31:25Speaker 1: every single other item that's built. We're going to become
- 31:28Speaker 1: an industrial powerhouse. And he said that so beautifully today.
- 31:32Speaker 1: In fact, I'm going to find out. I'm going to
- 31:34Speaker 1: get a tape and Bruce, I'm going to get that
- 31:37Speaker 1: tape and I'm going to send it to you out
- 31:38Speaker 1: of Long Island, and you're going to play it for
- 31:40Speaker 1: the people and all your union workers and your non
- 31:43Speaker 1: union workers out there, you got a pretty even split.
- 31:47Speaker 2: But we have so far it looks like we're going to.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Have about six trillion dollars of investments, and you wouldn't
- 31:54Speaker 1: do that in years in this country over the last
- 31:57Speaker 1: number of years. Six trillion dollars, and that's going.
- 32:00Speaker 2: To be much higher by the end of the year.
- 32:03Speaker 2: And think of what six trillion dollars is.
- 32:05Speaker 1: You wouldn't have even a small percentage of that under
- 32:10Speaker 1: this other system. We're going to be an entirely different country,
- 32:12Speaker 1: and it's going to be fantastic for the workers, it's
- 32:15Speaker 1: going to be fantastic for everyone. There will never have
- 32:18Speaker 1: been a transformation of a country like the transformation that's
- 32:21Speaker 1: already happening in the United States of America. It's an
- 32:24Speaker 1: incredible thing to watch, and it's incredible to meet with
- 32:28Speaker 1: the top people, people that you read about, very wealthy people,
- 32:31Speaker 1: or people that are great managers and executors and presidents
- 32:36Speaker 1: of big public companies, and to watch the enthusiasm they
- 32:39Speaker 1: have now that they didn't have. They gave up on
- 32:41Speaker 1: our country, they went to foreign countries and they built
- 32:44Speaker 1: companies are pouring into our country at levels never seen before,
- 32:48Speaker 1: with jobs and money to follow, and it's really beautiful.
- 32:52Speaker 1: In the coming days, there will be complaints from the
- 32:55Speaker 1: globalists and the outsources and special interests and the fake news,
- 32:59Speaker 1: always fake news, will always complain, but never forget. Every
- 33:04Speaker 1: prediction our opponents made about trade for the last thirty
- 33:07Speaker 1: years has been proven totally wrong. They were wrong about NAFTA,
- 33:11Speaker 1: they were wrong about China. They were wrong about the
- 33:15Speaker 1: Transpecific Partnership, which would have been a disaster.
- 33:18Speaker 2: If I didn't terminate it.
- 33:19Speaker 1: If I didn't turn that terminate that United Auto Workers,
- 33:24Speaker 1: you would have had no jobs in this country. You
- 33:27Speaker 1: would have had no jobs. I was all going to
- 33:30Speaker 1: other countries in my first term. They said tariffs would
- 33:35Speaker 1: crash the economy. Instead we built the greatest economy in
- 33:39Speaker 1: the history of the world. And again, I have great
- 33:41Speaker 1: respect for presidentcy of China, great respect for China. But
- 33:45Speaker 1: they were taking tremendous advantage of them of US.
- 33:49Speaker 2: And I commend them for that.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I say, hey, if you can get away with it,
- 33:53Speaker 1: that's okay. But you know, they understand exactly what's happening,
- 33:57Speaker 1: and they probably most of them are saying it's about
- 34:00Speaker 1: time they did something. But and they're gonna fight, and
- 34:03Speaker 1: they're gonna fight fair.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Everyone's going to fight. You know.
- 34:05Speaker 1: It's like I say to the leaders, Look, you got
- 34:08Speaker 1: to take care of your country, but we have to
- 34:10Speaker 1: start taking care of our country now. We can't do
- 34:12Speaker 1: what we've been doing for the last fifty years.
- 34:14Speaker 2: From the day of my election.
- 34:16Speaker 1: The stock market went up in my first term eighty
- 34:19Speaker 1: eight percent, with NaSTA going up one hundred and fifty
- 34:23Speaker 1: five percent, more than any president has ever had in
- 34:27Speaker 1: any term in office by far.
- 34:31Speaker 2: And I think we're going to blow that away.
- 34:33Speaker 1: And maybe the numbers won't show, but I think they're
- 34:37Speaker 1: going to show much better than even those numbers. But
- 34:39Speaker 1: what you're going to see is you're gonna see activity
- 34:41Speaker 1: that empty, dead sites, factories that are falling down. Those
- 34:46Speaker 1: factories will be knocked down and they're gonna have brand
- 34:48Speaker 1: new factories built in their place. And not only talking
- 34:51Speaker 1: about renovating, they're talking about brand new, the best anywhere
- 34:54Speaker 1: in the world, the biggest anywhere in the world. I
- 34:56Speaker 1: have a friend who bills car plants, and I said,
- 34:59Speaker 1: I want to see the biggest and the best. He said, well,
- 35:01Speaker 1: we have to go to Mexico. I said, Now, I
- 35:04Speaker 1: want to see it in the United States. He said,
- 35:05Speaker 1: we're not building.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Them in there.
- 35:06Speaker 1: This is a year and a half ago during the
- 35:08Speaker 1: campaign he said, we're not building.
- 35:10Speaker 2: You'd have to go to Mexico.
- 35:12Speaker 1: When I was starting to decide to run, and I
- 35:15Speaker 1: went to number one in the polls.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Very rapidly, I want to say, I want to like,
- 35:19Speaker 2: let's say, in the.
- 35:20Speaker 1: First in the first hour, and then shortly thereafter, it
- 35:24Speaker 1: looked like I was going to win, and the fake
- 35:26Speaker 1: news was saying, oh, no, don't do this. What they
- 35:29Speaker 1: don't know is if I didn't win, they would have
- 35:31Speaker 1: really been in trouble because nobody wants to read them anyway.
- 35:35Speaker 1: But I tell you what, when when it looked like
- 35:38Speaker 1: I was going to win, I announced that I was
- 35:40Speaker 1: going to be doing exactly what we're talking about today.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Great consistency actually because I've been.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Talking about it for forty years, but because I saw
- 35:48Speaker 1: what was happening forty years ago. If you look at
- 35:50Speaker 1: my old speeches when I was young, very handsome, my
- 35:56Speaker 1: old speeches and that people would say it'd be on
- 35:58Speaker 1: a television show talking about how we were being ripped
- 36:01Speaker 1: off by these countries. I mean, nothing changes very much.
- 36:04Speaker 1: The only thing to change were the countries. But nothing
- 36:07Speaker 1: really changes. But you know, it's it's such an honor.
- 36:11Speaker 1: It's such an honor to be finally able to do this.
- 36:14Speaker 1: If you look at China, I took in hundreds of
- 36:18Speaker 1: billions of dollars in my term, hundreds of billions. They
- 36:22Speaker 1: never paid ten cents to any other president, and yet
- 36:26Speaker 1: they paid hundreds of billions, so much so that Biden
- 36:29Speaker 1: couldn't do anything. They wanted to try and terminate it
- 36:32Speaker 1: because he had a very special relationship with China. You
- 36:36Speaker 1: know what the relationship was, he had especially, but the
- 36:40Speaker 1: numbers were so big, the numbers were so big that
- 36:45Speaker 1: they couldn't do it. So they did ease it up.
- 36:48Speaker 1: They did things that they shouldn't have done. They made
- 36:50Speaker 1: it a lot more comfortable for them, but they couldn't
- 36:54Speaker 1: do it because the numbers were hundreds of billions of dollars.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And I did that, and.
- 36:59Speaker 1: We were on our way to doing something like incredible,
- 37:03Speaker 1: and then we had a very bad election. Happened, very
- 37:05Speaker 1: bad election. A lot of bad things happened. So when
- 37:08Speaker 1: I said we've got to do it again. I said,
- 37:10Speaker 1: we have to make it too big to rig, and
- 37:12Speaker 1: we made it too big to rig, and we won
- 37:13Speaker 1: in records and it was a monumental win. And it
- 37:18Speaker 1: was such an honor to see so many of you,
- 37:21Speaker 1: like Brian and your friends here with us to celebrate,
- 37:25Speaker 1: and to more importantly celebrate what we're doing, because that
- 37:27Speaker 1: wouldn't be a full celebration if we didn't do this,
- 37:30Speaker 1: Because this will be an entirely different country in a
- 37:32Speaker 1: short period of time. It'll be something the whole world
- 37:36Speaker 1: will be talking about it. The critics made the very
- 37:39Speaker 1: tired predictions earlier this year, but in February, core inflation
- 37:44Speaker 1: dropped to the lowest rate in four years, and the
- 37:47Speaker 1: price of eggs.
- 37:48Speaker 2: As you know, just in a couple of in a
- 37:49Speaker 2: month and a half.
- 37:51Speaker 1: We were there for four weeks, and the first week
- 37:56Speaker 1: I got blamed for eggs. I said, I just got
- 37:59Speaker 1: They said eggs have gone up at like two hundred
- 38:02Speaker 1: and fifty percent and you can't get eggs, and they
- 38:05Speaker 1: were going crazy, and I said, I just got here.
- 38:09Speaker 1: And then we got to work on eggs. We got
- 38:13Speaker 1: to work on everything. In our great Secretary of Agriculture,
- 38:17Speaker 1: you did a fantastic job.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Brooke Rollins, you did a fantastic job.
- 38:21Speaker 1: And as I said before, the price of eggs dropped
- 38:25Speaker 1: now fifty nine percent and they're going down more and
- 38:27Speaker 1: the availability is fantastic. They were saying that for Easter,
- 38:31Speaker 1: please don't use eggs. Could you use plastic eggs? I said,
- 38:34Speaker 1: we don't want to do that. We want to and
- 38:36Speaker 1: you really came through. It's an amazing job. Thank you
- 38:38Speaker 1: very much, Brooke, you did great. But likewise, an old
- 38:41Speaker 1: fashioned term that we use, groceries.
- 38:43Speaker 2: I used it in the campaign.
- 38:45Speaker 1: It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term, groceries.
- 38:48Speaker 1: It says a bag with different things in it. Groceries
- 38:51Speaker 1: went through the roof and I campaigned on that. I
- 38:54Speaker 1: talked about the word groceries for a lot. And energy
- 38:58Speaker 1: costs now are down, groceries down, Gasoline is way under
- 39:01Speaker 1: three dollars and people are beginning to be able to
- 39:05Speaker 1: buy things and live again.
- 39:06Speaker 2: We brought prices way down.
- 39:08Speaker 1: We created ten thousand already in a few weeks new
- 39:12Speaker 1: manufacturing jobs, and it was that took place in one month,
- 39:16Speaker 1: numbers that they haven't seen in a long time. We
- 39:18Speaker 1: had virtually no inflation. Under my term, we had virtually
- 39:22Speaker 1: no inflation for four years, but after transitioning over to
- 39:27Speaker 1: Sleepy Joe, it went from almost nonexistent to the highest
- 39:31Speaker 1: in the history of our country. They had the highest
- 39:33Speaker 1: inflation in the history of our country, brought up by
- 39:37Speaker 1: energy and bad spending and bad policy, and a lot
- 39:40Speaker 1: of bad things happened. How about allowing millions and millions
- 39:44Speaker 1: and millions of people to pour into our country with
- 39:46Speaker 1: open borders where the it's so sad to see even now,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and I see our great Secretary of you have done.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Stand up, please, Christy, stand up, CHRISTI.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Nom and Tom Homan. These the people are doing a
- 40:06Speaker 1: great job. But gotten them out in records. We have
- 40:10Speaker 1: problems with judges that don't want.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Them to go out.
- 40:12Speaker 1: They want trend I I raqua and they want MS thirteen,
- 40:16Speaker 1: the most vicious gangs ever. Nobody's ever seen anything like
- 40:19Speaker 1: in absolute killer gangs. They kill people that don't even
- 40:22Speaker 1: think about it, and we put them out. And we
- 40:24Speaker 1: have judges now, radical left judges that want to They
- 40:28Speaker 1: don't want them to go out, they want them to
- 40:29Speaker 1: even be brought back.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Let's bring them back.
- 40:31Speaker 1: You've done a fantastic job, and please thank everybody, Homeland Security,
- 40:35Speaker 1: thank everybody.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Appreciate it.
- 40:40Speaker 1: And we now have a border that's the best border
- 40:43Speaker 1: that we've ever had, even better than it was my
- 40:47Speaker 1: first term. My first term we did good, but this
- 40:49Speaker 1: one we really specialized and we've done really well. And
- 40:53Speaker 1: we had records then we had with the best safest border.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Four years ago, we the best border there ever was,
- 40:59Speaker 1: and now you've actually matched it and done even better.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And we're going to get it down the right way.
- 41:05Speaker 1: And we want people, by the way, to come into
- 41:07Speaker 1: our country, but we want to come in through a
- 41:10Speaker 1: legal process. We want them to come in legally. We
- 41:13Speaker 1: need more people. We need people to run these plants
- 41:16Speaker 1: and to help the other workers and the teamsters and
- 41:19Speaker 1: the non union people and everybody else.
- 41:21Speaker 2: But we need people on the farmers.
- 41:23Speaker 1: And we're going to let people come in, but they
- 41:25Speaker 1: want to come in, we want them to come in legally.
- 41:27Speaker 1: They have to have the capability of loving our country.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Not people that hate our country. We don't want them
- 41:31Speaker 1: in our country. And now we're going to pass the
- 41:35Speaker 1: largest tax cuts in American history, and that's where we're
- 41:39Speaker 1: relying on Mike and John Thune, and we will not
- 41:43Speaker 1: cut Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits, and the Democrats
- 41:48Speaker 1: will because if they got in, the entire economy would collapse.
- 41:53Speaker 1: This country is heading for a collapse under the people
- 41:56Speaker 1: that you saw, they were horrible. I think one of
- 42:00Speaker 1: the reasons people liked the job I have my highest
- 42:02Speaker 1: approval is because I think they're comparing me to the worst.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Administration in the history of our country. So I appreciate
- 42:09Speaker 2: that at.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Least, but Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate
- 42:14Speaker 1: Majority Leader appreciate it. Mike john Thune have been fantastic,
- 42:19Speaker 1: by the way, but they've been working tirelessly on taking
- 42:23Speaker 1: the next step to pass the plan.
- 42:25Speaker 2: For our one big beautiful bill.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I'd like to name it that if you can one
- 42:31Speaker 1: big I made that statement about six months ago, and
- 42:34Speaker 1: everybody calls it one big.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Beautiful bill, and it will be that.
- 42:37Speaker 1: It'll have everything, the big tax cuts and every incentive
- 42:40Speaker 1: there is, and it'll be uh fantastic. And by the way,
- 42:44Speaker 1: for the cars, we're asking for an interest deduction on
- 42:48Speaker 1: the loan. So if you build the car only in America,
- 42:51Speaker 1: we do it.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Brian.
- 42:52Speaker 1: If the car's not built in America, you don't get
- 42:54Speaker 1: the interest rate deduction.
- 42:56Speaker 2: But if you.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Build the car in America, if you buy a car,
- 42:59Speaker 1: if it's built in a America, then you get an
- 43:02Speaker 1: interest rate deduction tax deduction. And uh, that's a big thing.
- 43:06Speaker 1: It's going to be a big thing. I think that's
- 43:08Speaker 1: going to pay for itself very quickly. That deduction never happened.
- 43:11Speaker 1: We've never had anything like that before. Somebody said, way
- 43:13Speaker 1: do you get the idea? Because it's so basic, you
- 43:15Speaker 1: would think that would have happened a long time ago.
- 43:18Speaker 1: It never did, and I'm very happy it didn't because
- 43:22Speaker 1: now I can say that was my idea. But we're
- 43:26Speaker 1: going to get us closer to the debt extension.
- 43:29Speaker 2: We have to get the debt extension.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Passed, and I know you're going to be able to
- 43:32Speaker 1: do that, Mike, and it's very important that you do
- 43:35Speaker 1: that and all of the other things that the Senate
- 43:38Speaker 1: Budget Plan gives us along with working Because I know
- 43:40Speaker 1: they're working together, John and Mike, and the two bills
- 43:44Speaker 1: are going very well together. We need to get our
- 43:46Speaker 1: shared priorities done, including certain permanent tax cuts. We want
- 43:50Speaker 1: the tax cuts to be permanent, spending cuts, energy and
- 43:54Speaker 1: historic investments in defense, border, and so much more.
- 43:58Speaker 2: We're covering everything. These will be phenomenal.
- 44:01Speaker 1: There'll be no bill like it's going to straighten One
- 44:04Speaker 1: bill is going to straighten out our country for many,
- 44:06Speaker 1: many years to come. And we said, let's just do it,
- 44:09Speaker 1: and let's get it done. And some guys will love it,
- 44:12Speaker 1: and some guys will like it a little bit less
- 44:14Speaker 1: because they're not getting what they were exactly looking for,
- 44:17Speaker 1: but they're getting a lot they'll never If we get
- 44:20Speaker 1: this done, it'll be the most incredible bill ever passed
- 44:23Speaker 1: in the history of our Congress and Senate and congressmen.
- 44:28Speaker 1: The senators and the congressmen, many of whom we're here today,
- 44:31Speaker 1: will be.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Very proud of themselves.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I really believe that it's gonna set us on a
- 44:35Speaker 1: whole new prosperous path. We're going to cut spending and
- 44:39Speaker 1: right size the budget back to where it should be.
- 44:41Speaker 1: We're gonna do that very strong. Thank you, Rick, Thank you, John,
- 44:48Speaker 1: thank you. Oh look at all of our senators over.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Oh boy, that's a nice group of people, But I
- 44:54Speaker 1: won't like them so much if they don't get this
- 44:56Speaker 1: bill done out.
- 44:58Speaker 2: That's a great group.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Congressman. Thank you very much. I appreciate it tremendous people.
- 45:03Speaker 1: The Senate plan is my complete and total support, and
- 45:07Speaker 1: the House plan likewise is very similar.
- 45:09Speaker 2: They're moving along pretty much at the same clip.
- 45:12Speaker 1: And as soon as you're ready, you'll show it to me,
- 45:14Speaker 1: and I'm sure it'll have my support.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Mind.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Every Republican Congressman and senator must unify. We have to unify.
- 45:21Speaker 1: We can't be separated. We have to get it done.
- 45:24Speaker 1: We have to get absolutely everything we can, and we
- 45:27Speaker 1: have to take care of the American people.
- 45:28Speaker 2: That's the only thing that matters.
- 45:30Speaker 1: We have to take care of the American people first.
- 45:32Speaker 1: We need to pass this bill immediately, get it done,
- 45:36Speaker 1: including debt extension. From this day on, We're not going
- 45:40Speaker 1: to let anyone tell us that American workers and families
- 45:43Speaker 1: cannot have the future that they deserve.
- 45:46Speaker 2: We're going to produce.
- 45:47Speaker 1: The cars and ships, chips, airplanes, minerals and medicines that
- 45:51Speaker 1: we need right here in America. The pharmaceutical companies are
- 45:55Speaker 1: going to become roaring back.
- 45:57Speaker 2: They're coming roaring back. They're all coming.
- 45:59Speaker 1: Back to our country because if they don't, they got
- 46:02Speaker 1: a big tax to pay. And if they do, I'll
- 46:05Speaker 1: be very happy, and you're going to be very happy,
- 46:08Speaker 1: and you're going to be very safe. We're going to
- 46:09Speaker 1: build our future with American hands, with American heart, American steel,
- 46:14Speaker 1: and we're going to build it with American pride like
- 46:17Speaker 1: we used to. We're approaching our one hundredth day as
- 46:20Speaker 1: president and have been given credit by a lot of people,
- 46:25Speaker 1: actually even some of the fake news can you believe it,
- 46:29Speaker 1: which in this case hopefully isn't fake, for having done
- 46:33Speaker 1: more in that time than any other administration in the
- 46:36Speaker 1: history of our country. In the first one hundred days,
- 46:39Speaker 1: I think we've had an amazing in terms of what
- 46:41Speaker 1: we've done, what we've gotten accomplished, like to see if
- 46:45Speaker 1: we can get that war ended and another war from
- 46:49Speaker 1: not starting in the Middle East.
- 46:51Speaker 2: We have to get Russia.
- 46:53Speaker 1: They're losing two thousand, on average, two thousand five hundred
- 46:57Speaker 1: people that they young people, soldiers. Russian think of that
- 47:01Speaker 1: two thousand, five hundred through some days, but on average,
- 47:05Speaker 1: probably over about a one week period, it's two thousand
- 47:09Speaker 1: and seven hundred and twelve. They say they're losing those soldiers,
- 47:14Speaker 1: they're dying, they're being decimated, and they're not from our country.
- 47:18Speaker 1: But they're from other countries, but they're human beings. They're
- 47:22Speaker 1: from Russia, they're.
- 47:23Speaker 2: From Ukraine in this period, most of them. And we're
- 47:27Speaker 2: going to get it stopped.
- 47:28Speaker 1: It's a senseless war that would have never happened if
- 47:30Speaker 1: I was president, that it shouldn't be allowed to go on.
- 47:37Speaker 2: And I think we're.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Being given good cooperation by Russia and by Ukraine, but
- 47:42Speaker 1: we have to get it stopped. It's humanity. It's humanity.
- 47:45Speaker 1: It's a terrible thing. This will be a very big moment.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I think you're going to remember today. It's going to
- 47:51Speaker 1: be a free nation that we're dealing with. We're going
- 47:54Speaker 1: to have a very free and beautiful nation. It's going
- 47:57Speaker 1: to be Liberation Day in America, and it's going to
- 48:00Speaker 1: be a day that hopefully you're going to look back
- 48:02Speaker 1: in years to come and you're going to say, you know,
- 48:04Speaker 1: he was right. This has turned out to be one
- 48:06Speaker 1: of the most important days in the history of our country.
- 48:10Speaker 2: God bless you, and God bless America. Thank you, everybody,
- 48:13Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Thank you, thank you very much.
