- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: So hurls, we sweep the sunshine state into very important four-point games, four-point swing games given ourselves as it sits right now, we sit second in the Atlantic, second
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Was this at all possible, I mean, going back to say things giving in your mind before Thanksgiving in your mind when think about the situation they currently sit in.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was possible.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Of course not.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: But they went on a 17 and 3 and 1 run from early December to the end of January.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think no one thought it was actually possible.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: But I think there was at least some hope once the team got helped again, it feels like so long ago at this point, all of those injuries, all of them is fortunate to begin the year.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, dolly missing some games, having to go back home to deal with his family issues.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot that stacked up early on.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: And once this team has gotten
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: at least like 85% healthy Norris came back for a little bit Benson went out, Norris is back again.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: When they have this kind of ad for the past two months, they have proven that they are one of the best teams.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Not only in the Eastern Conference,
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: But given how good the Eastern Conference is, one of the best teams in the NHL.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: And that is not being hyperbolic.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: This is one of, in my opinion, the best seven teams in the NHL at the moment.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: And it's crazy to say, but it's gone on long enough that they've proven it.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: They currently have the third best, not points for sandwich, but the third best record.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now, in the Eastern Conference, as you said, getting some cushion on second place in the Atlantic Division.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: This is a legitimately really, really good hockey team.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: And if you didn't believe it, tonight was the final nail in the coffin to cement that this team is actually very good.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Chasing Andre Vasilevsky, who has been on...
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: on the past 18 games, he was 17 Owen won in his last 18 games, which was tied for the longest streak in franchise history.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Tonight was the night that I think the savers, I think arrived in the conversation of being one of the best teams in the NHL.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and like when when they chased us that I was surprising, honestly, started the second period being down for an author and I thought they would go right to you know, Jonas Johansson to start the second.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't they get the fifth on them, then they finally take them out.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was like to me.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, given the fact that we're off, you know, a team USA gold medal when you've seen a lot about miracle and the 1980 team and the movie miracle or the movie miracle on ice and the movie miracle like you remember when her brooks on the bench take a look at that guys the best goal in the world is sitting on the bench right now you did that like the Sabres did that today like you look at the numbers the insane numbers.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: hiding into tonight like shoe in right shoe in for the vets in the trophy like he's a lot almost like I'm gonna find I'm trying to find the numbers right here because they were staggering I know uh I buddy Mike Harrington uh post them like uh way earlier today but like very very insane and staggering numbers like here you go
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like the lighting are 22 and 1 in their last 23 game savers are 23, 5 and 2 in their last 30, but I'm trying to find the numbers of best Alaska, which again, we're just insanity and you'd have to again think that he's a lock for the Buzz and the trophy this year, given the season he's had, but yeah, man, just to see them chase that guy out of the net and it like.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: one point was at three goals on three shots or three goals on four shots.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was stupid.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they had three goals and I think a two minute and 41 second span.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, insanity.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: Again, fact guy is crazy.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's really wild.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: And you can see the impact that a healthy Josh Norris and a healthy Zach Benson have on this team.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Sabers record within without Zach Benson this season is pretty incredible.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, he's not the only person that affects what happens in those games, but he clearly has enough of enough of it when in fact on the game.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: to impact the savers in a positive manner.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: And for whoever who comes to segments and isn't an important player on the scene is off the rocker.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: So it's, uh, it's, uh, it's pretty amazing.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I think, I mean, we have a two weeks to talk about the trade deadline.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I, I don't think we need to spend a lot of time on it right now.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I will say that, I mean,
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Calciring had to leave the game.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: He came back.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like he got heard a little bit again at the end of the game.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: It just seems he probably came back too quickly for my high ankle spring.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: I know the injuries tonight were unrelated to that, but trying to force yourself kind of overcompensates for other things and then you put yourself in harmful positions.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Matt's a played really well.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Bryson didn't play well before the Olympic break.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: They really, the top priority, I think, is to bring in a third pairing defenseman.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Whether that's right or left, someone who you can trust in
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: 12 to 15 minutes in a playoff game because that's the expectation at this point that this team is going to make the playoffs.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: It really does feel that way me saying that's not jinxing anything a proven for the past two and a half months that they should make the playoffs.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: It would be a pretty epic collapse if they didn't.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to need some depth on the defensive end as we saw into the housing five in Carolina.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot risk anything and you cannot trust
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, can't be understood like they return a Josh Norris will look to be a very healthy Josh Norris deck.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: That no look shot he does do that's like the third time he's done at this season or maybe I think Benson did it once too, just because like I think he was he was tipping the captain Norris on that one, but the no look shot, you know, completely fully baseless he do like I wish as you know as a goalie, I hate stuff like that, but as a fan you love to see, you know, fake outs like that and we don't.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Just just a super nice guy to have back in the lineup, who was so integral in the success when he was healthy.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: And you got to remember like this team is in plain as well as it has for a while now without Josh Norris getting him back is almost like getting a rental back or get, I'm not a rental, but you don't know what I mean, like making a trade at the deadline.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's a guy you did not have in your lineup for a while now.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: And he's back.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're most likely holding on to Alex talk, you know, given what Elliot Freeman said, I think it was pretty obvious they weren't going to trade him, you know, you can speculate all you want, but.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: to your point, we don't spend a lot of time on the trade deadline, but like, I think the sabers are an incredible position right now where, you know, you look at your third pairing defense when you heard that the Tyler Meyer stuff, you maybe you look another bottom six guy.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, where do you upgrade?
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: He has a Jack Quinn, like who, again, is very streaky.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's very cold right now.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's a nice situation to be, and if you're here, I'm gonna kick a line.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think you need to do anything too drastic.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's yeah.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot to be said about keeping chemistry in the room.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: And even a guy like Jack Quinn.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's he's up and down.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's not necessarily the most consistent guy, but he seems pretty well liked in the locker room.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: And he does perform in sports.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't necessarily think you have to carry the guy like that.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: If a team is asking for him, and it helps you bring in a guy that you think you could help your team, then yeah, you probably do it.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I think trading picks, trading prospects, doing something that can improve this team right now while giving away an asset that's probably not going to help the team for two to three years now.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: I see a lot of people talking about Ausland, still I think that would only be the discussion for a guy like Robert Thomas,
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: who knows if that's even a possibility, but I see a lot of people saying that he's not only the future, but he's the present.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of people want to keep him on this team and it would be a legitimate superstar, like Robert Thomas coming back.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: If you're gonna have to give up a guy like Noah Oslin.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now that Hellenius is down in Rochester, maybe he is more likely, he's still the top prospect in the system.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's potentially something to consider.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Personally, I think he should be on the roster.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to want guys that are maybe potentially a little bit more battle tested, a little bit tougher to play in those playoff type situations, which is going to happen here over the last month.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think there's a lot of different possibilities, but more than anything, they're going to be buyers.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: And that's pretty exciting for all of us.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, if anyone thought, I mean, like we post about I posted the video, the audio clip from Elliot from the 32 thoughts podcast and I was like, yeah, no shit, like yeah, I'm going to be buyers, but like it's just nice to hear it come from a guy like Elliot with, you know, who's our version and hockey of like Adam Shepher.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: So like I don't know, man, like he spoke on the talk thing.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's just like, yeah, like he's going to stick around and I mean, I don't know.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Are you over?
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: Are you kind of over like the home the hometown boy thing right now?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean like he, you know, this is his city like, you know, you know, you know, he grew up loving this team for me.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like,
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to be a part of this team getting over the playoff bump and you really want to be a part of the solution going long-term here, you know what type of living you can make in Buffalo with even with taking a slight pay cut for what you think you deserve should be like your market value is.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Are you kind of over like giving him a break because he's a home town guy like either do it or don't at this point.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't know.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just tired of using that as a reason to hold on to
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't think y'all won't catch a line and is acknowledged, let's whoever there's no way he's factoring that in I think he is weighing all factors whether.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's smart to play a guy who's about to turn 30, 11 and a half million per year.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: What he potentially could get on the open market.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think you figure out how many years he wants to sign for.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: This ever could do one more year than everybody else.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think it really comes down to his contribution to the team.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: All of the advanced stats, all of the analytics, how he is in the locker room, the intangibles as well.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously,
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: that's a huge part of it.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't sign Alex Tucker, you trade Alex Tucker, what is that going to do with the rest of the guys?
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think a guy like Tage Thompson would be very upset, Dali would be upset.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be a big load of the room.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: I really do, but no, I don't think Yarmoh, who's the only opinion who's really matters.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, everyone talks about him being from Syracuse and growing up as Emerson and that's a really cool story, but Yarmoh, Kekalin, and does not care about that.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not something that I think is going to affect his negotiation whatsoever.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and for me, it's like, I almost appreciate like kind of your remote kind of drawing the line in the sand here and we're like, hey man, like,
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're thinking, we're at just thinking this year.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're obviously not trading, unless some of you blows our doors in, but we're not thinking this year or thinking beyond this year.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: And if you wanna be a part of this, then these are the terms that we have set in front of you.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you can live a very healthy living here at this kind of money.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: You've said you have loved it here.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the offer, take it or leave it.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's the smart way to go about business here.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: And one way or another, I think there are ways to get it done.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about less term and more money.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about more guaranteed money, front loading it, different incentives.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a way to do it.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: And if the savers do play playoff hockey, which looks like they're going to, I think that incentivizes Alex talk to potentially stay here longer term.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: He could probably make a million more a year somewhere else, maybe with a bad team,
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe with a location that he doesn't like.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's built a life here.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's closer to his family, and he really enjoys being the guy to help turn this franchise around, which he has had a huge part in.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I personally do believe it'll get done in one way or another, but it's not something they have to worry about right now.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: This one.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: comment right here from Jaybird.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: We need a goon.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I wouldn't say like you'd actually need like a goon, but I think that's who like Josh doing is right.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the guy.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: Justin.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: Justin.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's done.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: Is it done.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: Doing her done.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was doing.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know because they're son.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, you know, slipped up.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: They're judged on.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard you see that before, but I just wasn't sure, because it's sister played in the Olympics.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think they said done.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Either way.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's just I'm going to play in the playoffs.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing right now.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if he has a confirmed spot on this roster.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think you can get a goon like guy who still contributes.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: There's no robbery anymore.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: There's no Andrew Peters like today's NHL is different than the NHL of their early 2000s.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't necessarily think you need just a good.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think you need a good that can forecheck well, that is good with the puck, that can get scoring chances.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think in today's NHL, you need guys that can do everything.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: Back milestone is really, really good in his role.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Peyton Crabbs is basically our good, but he does a really good job at it.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's in the middle of every single scrum and Peyton Crabbs is currently on the first line or whatever you believe to be,
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I don't know.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: I personally loved how they stood up to the bullshit tonight.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Tampa was, yeah, they did not fall down.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Tampa was clearly frustrated.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: And in years past, we would see you guys not to fan guys.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: But the best example was one of the smallest guys on your team defending your captain when he got slashed by Braden Point.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Noah Ossland with no hesitation went directly for him.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: credit to brain brain point he had every single opportunity to just take his head off But when Osloon was down and facing away from him, he held back his punches, which I thought was cool but
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Long story short.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: You have a bunch of guys that support each other.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: This team has a really good vibe to it.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think you need to break up the chemistry or bring in a guy like Ryan Reeves or Matt Rempay.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: No, I would never do that.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's like a Livia on on the blue jackets.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need to.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would bring in a Livia just because like he's a force and he can actually score.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's got to be, it's got to be, but I get what you're saying.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: Um, or like a key in Colis are we a nice ad like Tom Wilson.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you could get Tom Wilson.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was Washington completely out of it.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, the Washington's in second place.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I thought.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Tom Wilson is going anywhere.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, I actually know there are two points out of a wildcard.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Tom Wilson is not going anywhere.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: But what I'm saying is Tom Wilson is the prototype of a goon, so to speak, that also produces.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: I tend to agree.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: Could the Buffalo Sabers actually win the division counter?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think they could.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: How many like, I'm going to pull.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to pull it up right now.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: You keep talking, but we did post the the Atlantic division stats just a moment ago.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I feel like the lightning have two games in hand and their four points ahead.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: So that's pretty significant.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: I would say that it's unlikely, but I think this was a storyline going into the Olympics that they had 10 guys playing the tournament and
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: They clearly went on a generational run, kind of like we have for the past two and a half months, but there's bound to be some regression.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: So if the Saber is continue to get healthier and use this momentum and play as well as they have been on the road, the Saber's started the season off the road off on the road terribly.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: But now they're 18, 11 and three, and I think they have points in nine straight road games, which I think I heard on the broadcast tonight.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: So if they continue to do this and play as well, if they have at home too, which is 17, 8 and three,
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: It is not out of the question.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: They need to make up some ground, absolutely.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're effectively three and a half, four games back of the lightning at the moment.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: But you saw what they did to them tonight.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: They've got six out of the next seven games at home.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: If they win six out of seven and the lightning go 500 over their next seven, I think it's absolutely realistic.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: And as long as you're within ear shot in those final 10, five, 10 games of the season, it's definitely a possibility.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: We got the standings right here as you guys can see and let me pull it up for myself too, but like again, like something that we didn't really think was possible just a few months ago, I mean, we're right there in my opinion, like we got either the scoreboard kind of went your way tonight right with.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: with Carolina beating Detroit, you beat Tampa Bay.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you wish you would got a loss for Montreal.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: They beat, they beat Washington, 62, Philly beat Boston, 3-to-1, and then the Rangers beat Pittsburgh, 3-to-2.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: So not a bad night from, if you're a scoreboard watcher, again, you would have wished that Montreal would have lost.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: But you're only two points back.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, they have two games in handy.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: But they're currently on a two game losing streak.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I think their next game is in Minnesota.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm not mistaken, a team that's really going for it right now.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a tough game.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: That'd be a tough win for them.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not sure Buffalo has Vegas next at home.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Vibes will be high.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Tuesday night, you know, you're going to year to celebrate, page Thompson's Olympic win, um, you know, and you know how Buffalo plays on nights like that where they do like a pre-game ceremony, like they always seem to show up.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: So that could be a night where you can literally take two points, you know, put yourselves in a good position, even though they have two games in hand, if they lose them in a soda and you can find a way to beat Vegas.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you just sweat, you just beat two teams at one of the Stanley Cup, one that's backed up back and the other one has won two cups in the last about six seasons.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like against the best goal in the world.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think tonight proved that nothing is out of the question with this team.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: They were saying it before the Olympic break, Alex Tuck said it, they're not just trying to make the playoffs, they're trying to win the cup.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think another really good example was the St. Louis Blues in 2019.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: They were one of the worst teams in the league at New Years and Jordan Bittington got hot.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: The team got hot and they went on a run in one of the cup.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think this team has the goal-tending.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: They have the talent on the blue line, both defensively and offensively.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: They have super stars on offense and they have depth scoring.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: They have guys that can score up and down the line up.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: You bring in another guy, whether that's the top nine, a third pairing defenseman, and you keep Alex Line in UPL Healthy, which a discussion I had with my friend earlier.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's uncommon in today's NHL, but the way that they're both going right now, provided they both stay healthy.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: I could see both of them getting significant time in the playoffs.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think this team has handled the goal-tending in a really interesting way this season, obviously, with the three-go-lay rotation, which turned out to be fruitful given all of the injuries, but I could absolutely see Lyon getting
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: Games one and two new PL getting games three and four or going back and forth.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously momentum is a huge thing and you don't want to Mess up a guy's flow, but I don't think that's happened to the entire season and I think you can guys fresh is really valuable in today's NHL 100% If you're looking ways to improve this team, I think even though they have I mean did that the powerplay score tonight?
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was let me just confirm
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think a tough skull, I think, is power play was, not ever mind.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was a power play goal, over five.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as I saw it, I didn't like, it's so frustrating.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I know they've scored seven out of the last nine games on the power play, but it's such a weird thing because you can play out the power play even though it's been successful, but the things you complain about the drop back pass, like the slingshot entry, like it's just seemingly
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: Having Norris back in the face off dot on the power play is huge because you know he is your face off guy and you know, Belfa little riled to them he has more success
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: on the power play when they can win that offensive zone and just get control that way because they don't do a really good job and train the zone any other way unless they just decide to just dump it.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: But maybe that's somewhere you look to improve but I don't know who that guy is.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, is it a Rob Thomas type player?
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know but you're kind of splitting hairs right now trying to figure out criticisms of this team.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: You really are like, you know, where do you improve?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's tough.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, it's a bottom, bottom pairing defense, been sure.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know tougher, tougher your bottom for, but I've, I've, I don't know, I mean, who hasn't stepped up?
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, awesome stepped up for God's sake today.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think you improved the team from, but a dev,
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: and just meaningful minutes perspective by getting that third pairing guy or you could go for a second pairing guy and then move somebody down the line up to have a more balanced defensive unit completely.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think necessarily bringing in a guy like Robert Thomas is going to fix the power play.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is purely scheme.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: it is the lack of creative zone entries.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's the refusal to dump the puck.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's the insistence upon carrying it in using the sling shot and then going right into a line of defenders on the blue line because everybody knows what's coming.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be adaptable in today's NHL in a variety of different ways.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: And for them to continue to do the same thing on the zone entry, and also not when the all important first face off in the zone on the power play, I think getting a guy potentially like Vincent Trocheck potentially like Ryan O'Reilly someone that you know can win you a face off.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: No matter what, or at least 75% of the time, is something to look at too, because it was 33 to 31 lightning in face off tonight, but this team has been pretty bad at face off sol year.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think the two main weaknesses of the team are face offs and the power play.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: If as long as you're not changing the coach, Seth Apert is going to need to adapt.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: The coaching staff collectively is going to need to come together or you bring somebody else in to try something new, but it's not for a lack of talent, that clearly as you saw during the Olympics, Tate Thompson can be good on a really good power play.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: So can Rasmus Delling so can Alex talk and Josh Norris and Josh Don and Zach Benson, all of these guys can produce, but they're not being given the correct scheme or system in my eyes at this current moment.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I set the effort.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's been a ton of criticism of him.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of it is rightfully so.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's the talent you have on this team with Dallene, with Tade, with Talk, you know, other guys like Norris now being back in the fold.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think Benson is just a very undervalued player in my opinion.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: I, I don't never understand the criticism of them.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: The talent's there to have a top 10 power play.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: I just,
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't know where they sit in the standings, but like from fans who watch every game like me and you, we see it every game like just the how disconjoined it.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: It can look at times.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: I would have very much welcome a Ryan O'Reilly or again, like you said, a Vinny Tro check or a guy who could really, you know, yeah, you might not value him as a top power play unit type guy.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: But somebody who can make sure you win the important face-offs in those positions, because
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: in the playoffs, and I know we're talking about playoffs right now here at the end of February, but let's be real, like if you might get only one power play opportunity in a single play off game, that's how sometimes the roughs will put the whistle away, especially in close game, that's why the power play and being consistent and everybody on the same page, like you said being scheme properly, that's how important it can be.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: College of Career is the best face-off man in the NHL by a lot this season.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: I was just thinking it got potentially could be either on the market or available.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: There's not too many church checks 57.4%.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew's the best at 63.2% so you're not going to get a guy who's guaranteed to come in and win a face of 70 plus percent of the time.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't happen in today's NHL.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot has to do with the rough that's dropping the puck, the timing of it all, the situation, everything's involved.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: Curtis Lizarre is 61.2%, that would be funny.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, no, it's, uh,
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the guy actually with the most face-offs taken and the highest percentage by far actually is Dylan Strom.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's on the capitals and he had a really, really good season last year and not so much this year, but yeah, I don't know.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's something to look at.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're not gonna bring in a guy specifically just to be a face-off guy, but having a guy you can trust in really important situations.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't believe couldn't hurt.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how about did you expect that goal to get disallowed to I figured who was from Tampa like I was surprised I mean it definitely looked like a kicking motion to me even though he was falling but I was very 50-50 then myself but like I thought to myself like man these fucking calls are going the Saber's way
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: like we're getting these calls.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_00]: I personally thought last night was extremely surprising they didn't call that goaly interference.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually on the side that it wasn't goaly interference.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't think it was.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it was, but I just thought it would be called back, given the way these calls have gone this season.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Savers have lost a lot of them.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was surprising and then yeah, I don't know.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think the kicking motion is way more common to
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: not be called or overturned because it can be so slight and they're just going to call it anyway.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm trying to think of the one that was that wasn't called against us, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the hudgeon, the
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: Not directly.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: I agree on what you were doing, but I think subjectively like if you're the referee, you know, making that call that could have won either way in my opinion.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't and I wouldn't been mad.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: That one Hudson fashion one was a grieges that was a kick like this one.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like you could make an argument his, his foot was flying that way because he was falling even though from the slowdown overhead of you it definitely looks like You know a kicking motion, but like especially with the way the score was the time was six to one, you know, then it would have been six to but like I think that if you're a savers fan, it's like Okay, you know, I can see why it was called that way, but I was surprised and even last night against Florida, you know, Paul Maurice was freaking out Um
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: those calls and the bounces are going their way.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: And as Sabers fans, even the players, I'm sure they're not used to this.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's like all the stars are aligning and for us to finally break this fucking playoff drought.
- 30:19[UNKNOWN]: And
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm just riding this wave like a finally being on the right side of that fence like and not complaining about calls and not complaining about, you know, all these demons we dealt with as savers fans, it's a full sports fans forever now, the calls and the bounces are going our way and all the stars of a line of this team to finally break this playoff trout.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they've earned it.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: I really do believe they have, as Mike Carrington said, it might be one of the greatest timed GM moves in NHL history.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think it did have a tangible effect on the team known just respect to Kevin Adams, but so ever, but it clearly wasn't working.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean he didn't make good moves and that even some of the moves that he did make are having a tangibly really, really positive effect on this team right now.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: I was talking about Ryan McCloud earlier and how he signed
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: However, many million at age 26 for the next three seasons like Matt's of always coming on right now And he's he's been a lot better out of late, but that was objectively a good trait I think that it just came at the right time and these guys respect for Yarmol They respect Lindi I don't know if they were respects at that, but a lot of them played for him and Rochester, so they probably do I would like to improve the power play of course, but who knows if at all I just think that regardless of all of it they've earned it
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: and they've played their asses off.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: The goal-tending's been incredible.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: The goal-scoring has been timely and also supplemented by depth and the defense, especially those top four.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: The noise on Owen Power has been pretty quiet recently.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: The noise that some people had on Bowen Byrum has been pretty quiet and then obviously Samus and Andaline are playing at a superstar level.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think this team has had a lot of pieces and they're all coming together as we said before the season in the perfect way to finally compete and finally put up points to like you said make the playoffs.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, and you know, you say like there's a comment from Mikey Castle ring only at a half minutes of ice time.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're limiting his ice time right now excited.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: He also seemed like he heard his shoulder and he was out for a bit.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that too.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: We like he finished the game thankfully.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: We did get a question in here.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: Let me see if I can find it right now.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, here's another comment.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: Sabers lead the league at 19 empty net goals.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: Also insane.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: Help by Jack Quinn the.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: That all.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Peyton Krebs has all 19, man.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like he is legitimately the, um, emptiness ass and here from Mr.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: Sponsor Port, who would you start game one of the playoffs?
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: Me, I, I think, you know, my answer.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's Alex Lyon just consistency and experience.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's played in playoff games before.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's played in big moments before.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: To me, it's Alex Lyon.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: For sure, and I think he's earned that this season.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's largely been the workhorse.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: He was out for a little bit, but he's played in the biggest games, and I think he's played the best in the biggest games.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I will say, if for whatever reason they weren't able to, I would be very confident with UPL as the Sabre starting goalie for a game one of any playoff series.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think when he's been healthy, that's how well he's played this season, and it's been a really, really positive and solid bounce back year for him.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: these two games to begin this post Olympic stretch up in New Jersey and then tonight.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think tonight was not necessarily the hardest game for him, but those games can be hard when you're not getting a lot of shots and the plays that the other end, the ice is tilted, you still need to stay focused and be on your game and he did that tonight.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: He made some timely saves in the first period to keep this game out of reach.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it is it is lime game one, but I'm completely comfortable with UPL starting playoff games.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, yep, yep, I don't know what this is.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: You're a blow-hired who just tries making noise try it appreciate that they are playing good, hockey, and support them.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure who that's directed at Robert.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing nothing but supporting that right now.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the chat.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen your name before, but what a comment to come in to start, to start your time, you're on, I don't know, hang up unless I'm here.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: We'll only go up from there, I guess.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: I got I got so you can only get better from there.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: I got a lot of Lion King answers here to that question though.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: One last comment I want to bring up because this is true remember we did our preseason predictions.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: This guy Kevin remembers, savers are playing as good as your guys.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: We should go back to that.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, we should go back to that.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: We should go, line up, I'll find that episode.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: I had it written down.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: I probably don't have it anymore.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll find that episode.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to see how well we did up until this point of the season, because that's interesting.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, I think that, I think both of us were right around 98 points, right?
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and is that what they're like, I don't know, I saw a model that we're projected to get one or four of them out, which is I have to see it.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: I have to see like how close me and you are.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think I crazy thing, I think they're going to
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'll, I'll, I'll pace that.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: I really do believe it.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's 22 in your right.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's 22 games left to get to 96 points.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: They need to win 10 of 22.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: And to get to 100, they need to win 14 of 22.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, well, I've a variety of different ways to get points, of course, but it's very much within reach, and I think 100 points is more of likely that not at this current moment.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, yep, do I need you to see that real OM Power 25 was in the chat?
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: check it in live from Tampa, while I'm glad you're checking in for the post game from Tampa Bay and spending spending your evening with us after another Saber's win sliding into second the Atlantic are we still six in the are we still six in the NHL or do we bump go up at all?
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see in the league six.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: We are still in six, but most importantly, we're second in the Atlantic.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they have a real shot at winning the division.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're getting hot and Tampa is cooling off right now all at the right time.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think we have age on our side, age and speed compared to Tampa.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: They're dealing with injuries.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think they might have dealt with a couple tonight.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, maybe Vasyloss is cooling off at the right time.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think that we have a real shot at winning the Atlantic division this season.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why not us, man?
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just super, super, super excited for, um, the opportunity to, I hope.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I, and again, I know web jokes around about going to the airport and stuff like that.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I did once already.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, there was only like 10, 15 fans there when I did go, but like, um,
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine if they clinch a playoff spot or the division on the road, what that scene could look like at the airport.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's crazy.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's given the pace and the projection and the way that they're playing right now, they will be here in LA Saturday, March 21st and in Anaheim Sunday, March 22nd.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: I have a slight feeling that that weekend could be the weekend.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: And if I were to be able to see that in person, that would be
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: unbelievable.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually so the King's game on Saturday the 21st is 1 p.m. West Coast time and I'm playing in a like beer league all-star game on the crypto dot com arena ice after the savers game.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: So if we've got chance, there's a beer league all-star game.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's just like my rank that they allow us the ice for one of the games every year for the Kings.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: We've been doing it for like two to three straight seasons now, but the game this year is the Sabers game, so we're all sitting in the 100 level and then we get to play on the same ice afterwards, but if the Sabers were somehow to clinch the playoff berth and break the drop that day, I don't know if I'll be able to stand in that to be honest.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: That was good hand, just get a hand up and go play gold.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that would be really difficult.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: I've done it before.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: You're being able to be a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, now that would be, uh, that would be something.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: But uh, yeah, I, I think it's trending towards potentially, especially if they continue to play at this pace, clinching a play off spot before the end of March, which would, which would be in say, if they do it on that trip and then they come home, I think you got to sneak on the flight to be in coming to Buffalo.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think you have to.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, um, I'm already coming as of now, uh,
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: arrive early morning of April 18th which let's say for playoffs right if you know I know we're done playoffs pretty early here but right yeah you know like this is just a trip home but let's say uh the playoffs start on April 18th and I think it's if they're in the
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: Second place in the Atlantic Division spot.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: They would have a home playoff game on Saturday, April 18th.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: So we got to make sure we coordinate, because I think we both should go to that game.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, obviously I'm going to go to the game.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I'm saying that like go to that game together and part of the plan go nuts.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: Take a turn to be tough.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm already looking into a few different options.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we'll see what happens.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: Don't want to get to it out of ourselves.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's looking good.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: I have a cousin who's had seasons now for 10 years, who always reach back when they were making the playoffs, who'd always reach out to me for playoff tickets because he gets kind of like first crack.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: If it's the same way it used to be, like season ticket owners get first crack at single game tickets.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, to buy extra, I think at, you know, whatever their value of their ticket is before they hit the secondary market.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to, I'm going to stay plugged in with that because he said 300 level very low in the 300 level center, all you see, it's actually pretty good seats.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: I like I prefer like to sit higher up because you can see everything.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: but I for sure without a doubt will find a way to be there if they open up game one in Buffalo, whoever their opponent might be.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, that's the reason I made the trip as long as it was because no matter when that first home playoff game is in 15 years, I will be there regardless.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: Because theoretically, let's say they'll, they start on the road on Saturday, game two would be Monday.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: I would imagine game three and four would be one's day in Friday.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: You bet you'll be there.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you were done talking as I bet you bet your sweet ass.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be there for the March 14th Leafs game
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's called the team that's falling apart right now.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: And if you saw that a full line brawl today, tonight against Ottawa, absolutely falling apart.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: And if you see marks from Go for a goal, an MC not goaly goal.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then it get picked off.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then then they get then Jersey got stuck scored on.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, I didn't.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he went from the one knee, they're up to nothing.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: Try to go for the empty nutter.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: It got picked off and they scored on Jersey.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I've ever seen that before.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Jeez.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we say one still.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I do want to give a quick shout out.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: We did meet another, I didn't mean another fan of the show last night.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to the movies for a little anniversary and had some issues getting into our movie.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently I was sold a ticket for the previous night before.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: So like we got there.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually kind of funny.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: We got there to see scream seven.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: And we're sitting in there.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: We got there like a few minutes late, but normally previews because we'll get in start and that will be the animated movie goat was going, but we thought it was a long preview and we're like, it doesn't seem like scream seven at all and I walked down.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: I asked this guy, hey, is this scream seven.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: He looked at me all confused like, no, no, it's like this is not scream seven.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, this is goat.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I looked at her.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like,
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're in the wrong theater and we find out they sold us a ticket for the night before Sky Nick Richter who, you know, noticed, noticed me from the podcast, you know, took care of us.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I really appreciate that making sure that we're able to see our movie, you know, a little bit later than we anticipated.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure we had tickets.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to you.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for supporting the show.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: Howl the dude huge sabers fan so couple clicks to you next.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for supporting the show.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Any final thoughts before we get out here.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess I'll finish it with what I started with that I think tonight was the true tipping point.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_00]: for not only Saber's fans, but the rest of the NHL to realize that this is one of the best teams in the league, doing what they did to the best team in the East and one of probably the best team in the NHL for the past two months.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was probably their best game of the season all around.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: And we've said that a few times now, so that's really saying something.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: And it speaks to how good of a team they truly are and it's going to make for an exciting,
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: Next week and a half leading up to the trade deadline.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think they don't necessarily need to change up that much, but potentially looking at a guy like Robert Thomas and if not.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: A depth forward addition definitely a depth defensive addition and putting themselves in the best possible position to be not only a contending playoff team, but a team that could actually make a run.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anything is out of the question with this team at the moment.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: First place in the Atlantic, second place in the Atlantic, of course.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then winning two to three rounds and actually going out of run here.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: The Stanley Cup odds, I mean, my friend got earlier.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: We're at plus 4,000.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's not a horrible bet.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that...
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: the right combination of things are happening at the right time for a hockey team in today's NHL.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I think everybody should be really excited.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: Don't get ahead of yourself.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: You can do whatever you want.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: We're fans.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're allowed to do this.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're not the team, right?
- 44:32[SPEAKER_00]: So get as excited as you want because we have an experience this level of joy and excitement in a really long time.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: So you might as well soak it in and live in the moment and go from there.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it might happen.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: The animals can fuse Sabers fans have been in a long time.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think we talked about it last the other night.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think he gets shared pre-game, but the circuity touched the puck.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting moved.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, I guess you're good at this.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: As you should know how to hold a grudge.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think as soon as he made those comments after his first game back, he's never heard of this as well as he did that night.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: He was getting booed for the rest of time.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I did like scream 7 Paul Hamilton watch your language.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: It was it was decent.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: It was decent.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like who I didn't like who the killers ended up being, but everything up until that point was pretty good.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_01]: So, and there is a request here, her else for you to wear your headband when when you do me pricing sucks 25 or whatever, apparently everybody likes your headband.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I'd say it was my bills had been all season long.

- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, it's something that I have adopted in the past like six to six to seven months.
