  I, I mean, you know, that's kind of a weird thought.

  I've been running around naked and out of control for like

  years. I have no idea.

  thinking of a Twisted Sister, right?

  Every time I say sister podcaster, sister church or

  sister, whatever, I think of that guy.

  All right, with all that weirdness out of the way, we
• 1:29
  wanted to talk about something that, you know, we were talking
• 1:32
  on the phone recently, right, about some of these fringe ear
• 1:38
  sensational, titillating kind of things that get us into the
• 1:45
  types of conversations we have on our show.
• 1:47
  And they're great and they're interesting.
• 1:49
  And I think God is appointing as we're just recorded an episode
• 1:53
  on time. I think the things in the book
• 1:59
  of Enoch and things about the Nephilim and all of this
• 2:02
  interesting stuff, UFOs and and all that weirdness, right
• 2:07
  cryptids, the thing that inspired me.
• 2:11
  I think the Holy Spirit giving me that kind of that inner,
• 2:17
  what's the word I'm looking for? Push.
• 2:20
  When I was binging Blurry Creatures episodes to do the
• 2:24
  days and over show and it didn't even start out as a podcast.
• 2:28
  It was just going to be me and my brother Luke and a friend
• 2:32
  maybe just kind of hashing over some of these weirder topics.
• 2:36
  But we wanted to put out sort of a disclaimer episode to just
• 2:42
  remind ourselves as Rod and I kind of chase some of these more
• 2:48
  sensational things, to stay grounded and to look at our
• 2:53
  spiritual diet. And this is just as much for
• 2:57
  myself and Rod as it is for everyone listening.

  I think it's totally fine that God engages more of the, let's
• 3:06
  say, fleshly part of us to be interested in things like the
• 3:13
  weirder experiences out there, the paranormal perhaps.
• 3:17
  It can get unhealthy if that is your spiritual diet.
• 3:22
  By and large, if you're not dealing with sin, if you're not
• 3:28
  studying the Word of God, if you're not meeting with other
• 3:31
  believers, you know the spiritual milk is the
• 3:38
  foundation. It's the necessary things.
• 3:41
  It's believing the right things about Christ.
• 3:43
  It's believing about the right things about the Bible and
• 3:47
  having a Christian worldview and whatever that means.
• 3:52
  So this is just kind of a call to remind ourselves to stay
• 3:57
  grounded in those more important things.
• 4:02
  You know, I think of my friend Don, who was on some of our
• 4:05
  earlier episodes, and it was eschatology, the End times, and
• 4:11
  the Book of Revelation that really got him to take the idea
• 4:16
  of faith in Jesus seriously. So a lot of times it can be
• 4:21
  those things that are a little more scary, a little more weird
• 4:27
  that make us make the important decisions.
• 4:32
  But I'll pass to you, Rod, what are your thoughts on kind of how
• 4:36
  we balance our spiritual diet with some of the more fun
• 4:41
  things, with some of the more mundane but extremely important
• 4:48
  foundational things? It's funny how your moment to
• 4:53
  moment, day-to-day experience can change how you would wrestle
• 4:59
  through some of these topics. But there's what I call nudges
• 5:04
  or flashings, very important climactical, spiritual moments
• 5:10
  that we're supposed to be in tune to.
• 5:12
  And that's what I had the other week when I called GP and was
• 5:14
  like, hey, we need to recalibrate, disclaim and set
• 5:19
  the record straight. Because one of the things coming
• 5:23
  off my sabbatical, you know, I took, I took a mini step back
• 5:27
  away from the show and worked on some other projects, which was
• 5:31
  fruitful. But I also had time to reflect
• 5:34
  after 6 plus years of production autodidact.
• 5:39
  I had to teach myself everything.
• 5:40
  It's a very long and gritty process.
• 5:44
  And really the first time I took a step back was recently and I
• 5:49
  thought, and I got back into the word again and kind of like
• 5:52
  tried to recalibrate and I felt like I was failing forward and
• 5:55
  everything was just going wrong. And I'm like, what is happening?
• 5:59
  And God was kind of billboarding me in the spirit versus like the
• 6:07
  sheep here, the shepherd's voice, everyone who belongs to
• 6:12
  him is going to come to him. It's it's unarguable.
• 6:14
  That's his word. Don't like it?
• 6:16
  Go take it up with the Father. But I started to think, what
• 6:20
  about all the in between? So if your word never returns
• 6:24
  void, right, can you be feeding ideas, concepts, parabolic
• 6:32
  language, storytelling concepts that are based on the word to
• 6:39
  people in the wrong season or for the wrong reason?
• 6:43
  And I'm like, that's definitely a real problem.
• 6:47
  Not saying any, any of us would know who is not a real believer
• 6:52
  or not. I'm not that.
• 6:53
  That's not even the route I'm going here.
• 6:55
  What I'm trying to say is the reason we should love the topics
• 7:01
  like what we cover on our shows, Pete, is because it's a seasonal
• 7:05
  growth inhibitor, because we love him in recognition of he
• 7:10
  first loved us, right? So it's like this this concept
• 7:13
  of just to know the information, you know, for if anyone out
• 7:17
  there is in witchcraft or just in rebellion in general, where
• 7:20
  they're like, I don't really care about Jesus, but I kind of
• 7:23
  want to know what's going on with the giants.
• 7:24
  And Pete covers that in the days of Noah and Rod talks about nano
• 7:28
  particulates and cloud seeding and you know, he he has fringe
• 7:32
  round tables. I like that about his show, but
• 7:34
  I don't know about Jesus. Is that information really
• 7:37
  beneficial? Not that I'm going to stop doing
• 7:41
  that information, but I think making the record straight would
• 7:44
  be that's God's decision of how to work that out with that
• 7:48
  individual that may be in that seat going.
• 7:51
  I'm only here for to eat the popcorn and enjoy the Super
• 7:55
  creepy topics. There's a warning label that
• 8:01
  comes with that and we have to be responsible as creators and
• 8:05
  producer, producers of the shows to say, I really hope that the
• 8:10
  right heart posture and people are receiving this the right
• 8:14
  way. There has to be a bit of a
• 8:16
  governor that gets put on the motor that can run and run and
• 8:21
  run and God forbid I don't want to end up someplace I'm not
• 8:25
  supposed to be. I've always told the Lord, open
• 8:28
  the door, I'll go through it, close the door.
• 8:29
  I'm not going to marvel as to why you closed it.
• 8:32
  I've been pretty simple approach about how I do my life
• 8:34
  personally. This show, I've been going since
• 8:38
  2018, not of this world. 2020, we started MMS, sloppy, messy
• 8:45
  beginnings, but I think if I took one month off and had that
• 8:48
  reflection, got it. Have I been in OverDrive, right?
• 8:56
  Have I been laser focused? How should I bring myself before
• 9:02
  you with this? How is this affecting people?
• 9:05
  How are they receiving this information?
• 9:08
  Five years ago, Pete, there was nobody doing this before.
• 9:11
  Blurry Creatures, before any of these other shows, there was
• 9:16
  only a couple people that would talk about the Fringe stuff
• 9:18
  publicly was it's minuscule in the grand picture.
• 9:20
  If you really go back and look at the track record and I was
• 9:24
  just having early conversations while while shows like Blurry
• 9:27
  Creatures were being birthed months later asking about
• 9:30
  angelic warfare in the heavens and similar topics.
• 9:34
  And it makes me kind of think I've seen such a rapid growth
• 9:39
  and demand for these topics publicly.
• 9:41
  And so many podcasts have come, which I congratulate.
• 9:45
  I'm in competition with no one other than myself last year.
• 9:48
  So I see shows come and go. I mean, Pete, your show came.
• 9:50
  I told you right from the RIP. I'm like, you're going to do
• 9:53
  better than I am. You're great.
• 9:55
  You have what it takes. Your show's bigger.
• 9:57
  It's more successful. I mean, I called it.

  I knew it. I knew that there was going to
• 10:03
  be people coming in to fill the void and I was excited about
• 10:06
  that. But personally, I have to set
• 10:09
  the record straight and say, if you're not listening to these
• 10:13
  shows with the right heart posture, be warned.

  Jesus is the answer. He's the only way.
• 10:21
  He's the narrow door. And I think what's going to set
• 10:25
  my show apart moving forward, Pete, which we talked about like
• 10:28
  I'm going to critique my direction, right, is that not
• 10:32
  every show out there is willing to make the statement I just
• 10:34
  made. But I think that me and you are
• 10:36
  in agreement, Pete, that it's all about him.
• 10:39
  It's it's never meant to be anything other.
• 10:42
  Than that, and please hear us when we say this, that if you
• 10:48
  are here for the more sensational things, we still
• 10:51
  want you to come along for the ride like.
• 10:54
  Yeah, we're not. We're not asking you to leave.
• 10:56
  Absolutely no. We're, we're everyone's at a
• 11:00
  different place in life. And I think the importance of
• 11:05
  these topics that we cover, Rod, is to say, look, there is a
• 11:11
  strange, weird world out there. And the Bible has answers for
• 11:16
  that. And the writer of the Bible
• 11:20
  himself, Jesus, is the answer to that.
• 11:23
  And that we are in a spiritual battle and things are going to
• 11:27
  get more dark, but they're also going to get more bright as
• 11:34
  Christ's bride's finest hour approaches.
• 11:38
  So, yeah, continue with us, but don't stop there.
• 11:43
  Don't stop with just the, the more fantastical things and ask
• 11:48
  the hard questions of yourself because it really does come back
• 11:51
  to you as a creation of God. And who do you say that I am?
• 11:57
  Jesus asks. You know, I think back to my, in
• 12:02
  my 20s when I felt like, OK, I had, I had faith in God that,
• 12:06
  that, that was always there. That foundation was there.
• 12:09
  I made that commitment growing up and kind of recommitted when
• 12:13
  I was about 17. But I felt like a lot of times
• 12:18
  that sanctification was very slow in my language, in my
• 12:23
  thoughts, and a lot of other ways that sanctification was
• 12:26
  very slow. But you know, the thing that
• 12:28
  kept me going to church every week, I was in the church band
• 12:32
  and I love the music and I love playing and singing and that
• 12:36
  whole collaboration with musicians.
• 12:38
  I was at church more than the pastor was.
• 12:41
  He would take, you know, 3-4 Sundays off, go on vacation or
• 12:45
  or whatever. I was there every week and I
• 12:49
  felt like it was the music that kept me going because this was a
• 12:55
  small church, we didn't have rotating worship teams.
• 12:59
  This was it. And I wanted to be a part of it
• 13:01
  every week, and I was. And I think God used that to
• 13:05
  keep me grounded in being with other believers every week.
• 13:11
  So yeah, let God meet you at the season that you're at, but don't
• 13:17
  stop and continue pressing into Him because he, he came to give
• 13:24
  us a life abundant. And I know, man, I know a lot of
• 13:28
  us aren't feeling it right now. I've had some weary days lately
• 13:33
  trying to figure that out and it does seem like it's just going
• 13:39
  through the motions sometimes. But we just want to thank you
• 13:46
  guys for being out there listening and stick with us as
• 13:50
  as Rod and I try to balance our shows with some of the more
• 13:53
  weird and interesting, but also some of the more how do we press
• 13:57
  in to our creator? Hopefully you get this
• 14:02
  disclaimer that we need to keep the main things the main thing
• 14:08
  and not be too extreme in any way and just let that marinate
• 14:15
  and let the Holy Spirit use it how He wishes.
• 14:20
  Yeah, I mean, the weird and interesting things are only
• 14:24
  important because the waymaker has said it in that order.
• 14:32
  And so those those kind of reflections of me and Peter
• 14:36
  sharing are the disclaimer that This is why we're in it.
• 14:39
  This is our heart posture. Jesus is Lord, the spiritual war
• 14:44
  is raging all around us. There's so many.
• 14:48
  I don't even mean to laugh like when I say that Pete, but it's
• 14:52
  it's almost that stumped or just flabbergasted, perplexed right
• 14:57
  at the fact that experientially I've known this, but to try to
• 15:02
  get that across to other people seems to be night and day
• 15:05
  sometimes and there's casualties all around us.
• 15:10
  It's, it's unbelievable how many people are dying, leaving the
• 15:16
  faith in the wrong beliefs, entertaining witchcraft,
• 15:20
  doctrines of demons, as Paul would say.
• 15:25
  And this calibration and, and my, my effort, my voice right
• 15:30
  now in this moment is to let you guys know the reason it's all
• 15:33
  important to me is because there was a deficit for it in the
• 15:37
  church. And I feel like that's starting
• 15:39
  to grow. The church is starting to
• 15:41
  wrestle with these topics. And a lot of people are coming
• 15:44
  on board that have large followings from secular places
• 15:48
  that are now saying, oh, I'm a Christian, but I don't know
• 15:52
  what's AI and what's not. That's something I kind of told
• 15:54
  you, Pete, like, I'm like, I wonder how much is like actually
• 15:57
  true? Like, can you go put your hand
• 15:59
  on that person's shoulder and like, are they actually changing
• 16:02
  their lives? Like one example, a name I'll
• 16:04
  use is Russell Brand. I really feel like he's trying
• 16:06
  to become a Christian, but there's still a lot of bad
• 16:10
  psyche. The mind of Christ is the mind
• 16:12
  of Christ. And then the mind of someone
• 16:14
  wrestling with topics from secularism is different.
• 16:17
  And I'm not saying he's not a believer.
• 16:19
  I'm just saying I look at it and I'm going that's, that's not
• 16:23
  fruit, that's not deep. That doesn't serve the sacred
• 16:25
  place in me that that Christ is. But I'll be like, hey, that's
• 16:30
  he's on the right track. There's no way I'm going to
• 16:33
  hinder that. Like I'm going to pray for that.
• 16:35
  I'm going to plant seeds on that.
• 16:37
  I'm going to water that. But I think what I'm trying to
• 16:39
  say from my show's perspective, and thank you also for doing a
• 16:42
  mini because this now goes out to your audience as a bit of a
• 16:46
  warning that the miners and the majors don't exist apart from
• 16:51
  each other. I had a pastor one time, Pete,
• 16:53
  tell me the miners with the miners, the majors with the
• 16:55
  majors, Christ is king and nothing else that you have to
• 16:58
  ask or say in my church matters. And I was like, what?
• 17:01
  I was like, no, they have to. It all fills the beauty of the,
• 17:06
  the, the messy masterpiece that we're living.
• 17:11
  You can't tell me one's less important or more important or
• 17:13
  this or that. And oftentimes, Pete, you say
• 17:17
  it's the most untalked about parts of the Bible that we talk
• 17:22
  about in order to create the balance.
• 17:25
  Let's let's close with this thought.
• 17:27
  And that's, that's right, because we are all the body of
• 17:30
  Christ and we have different parts and different functions,
• 17:33
  right? And there, there's more cells in
• 17:38
  some areas of the body and some organs than there are in other
• 17:41
  cells, right? So God has these things
• 17:44
  appointed how he wants. So we don't all have to be the
• 17:46
  same. But yeah, I, I, I do recall a
• 17:49
  conversation with my dad a few years ago as we were talking
• 17:52
  Genesis 6 and, and he kind of pushed back and said, you know,
• 17:56
  it's not the most important chapter in the Bible.
• 17:59
  And I said, no, you're right, Dad, it's not.
• 18:01
  I said, but it's one of the most misunderstood and
• 18:04
  underrepresented. And so I think that's kind of
• 18:09
  what I've tried to set out on our show is, is to represent the
• 18:16
  things that haven't been talked enough about in the Christian
• 18:20
  worldview. But again, the most important
• 18:24
  thing is relationship with Christ is dealing with sin and
• 18:28
  holiness is how are you walking that out and loving one another
• 18:34
  and being the part of the body of Christ that you're called to
• 18:37
  be. So hopefully guys are encouraged
• 18:41
  in that. Keep pressing in asking God what
• 18:44
  you should be focusing on each day and but keep doing the
• 18:48
  fundamentals, the prayer, the Bible reading, meeting with
• 18:51
  other believers, asking the hard questions.
• 18:55
  God, how do you see me? I know how I see me.
• 18:58
  How do you see me and how should I think about this day that
• 19:03
  you've given me each day I wake up?
• 19:06
  For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His
• 19:10
  mercy towards those who fear Him.

  As far as the east is from the West, So far He has removed our
• 19:17
  transgressions from us. As a father pities His children,
• 19:22
  so the Lord pities those who fear Him.
• 19:25
  For He knows our frame. He remembers that were made of
• 19:29
  the dust. Psalms 103, eleven through 14.

  thought you could take on my God's spot now, but you can die
