- 0:28SPEAKER_00: What's going on?

- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Episode one, man.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: We locked in, man.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Week one just happened in the NFL.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: And I gotta say, congratulations, brother.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Congratulations, Arn Order.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Got the dub.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Got the dub.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tambay Buccaneers 33 to 27.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: And boy, did the offensive line have a hell of a game, bro.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: It was phenomenal.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was phenomenal.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: So talk, talk me through it, man.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: It was a huge game.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: You know, the jungle was rocking.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: People were pumped up.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Talk us through this game.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, you know, it was a lot, obviously leading up to it, man.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Anytime it's week one, playoffs, uh, you know, prime time, some games just mean more.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: And with everything that we've had going on the past few years and not making it to the playoffs and shit, and you add in all the additions we made defensively, uh, expectations and the buzz has been high for a while now.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: And so um, man, we can only put in the work that we did in the month of April's, the months of April, May, June, July, August leading into this game, and we did, man.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: And uh, I think what you guys saw was uh, you know, a good a good initial uh raw product.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: For sure, man.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, listen, I was listening, first play, first play, uh true pass protection play, I would say on third down.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, my guy gets a pancake.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I was I was super excited to you know to see you play.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: See you guys out there.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: The defense was roaring.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And you know, obviously in Cincinnati this year, everybody's been talking about the defensive line.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Everybody's been so excited for sexy Dexy, Boye Mafei.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: The list goes on.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: And I would say every almost every one of the Cincinnati Bengals free agency additions showed up in a big way.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, for sure.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And that's huge, man.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: You know, anytime you can get number nine in that offense, the ball back, time and time again.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, we're talking about four force fumbles.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Uh Boye Mafe had a sack.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Dexter Lawrence, he created a pressure, and which led to a Jonathan Allen sack, of course.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: They robbed my dog Cassius How of a full sack.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, they gave him a half.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Him and Chris.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: They didn't even give him a half.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: They gave Chris the full sack.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Chris got the full sack.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Chris got the full sack.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Chris got the full sack.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it was a very I think the thing that I was super excited about and watching that game is I I hold the Bucks in real regard, bro.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that's a playoff team.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: And I think I think even though they they missed playoffs last year, any point given, you know, with Todd Bowles, Baker Mayfield at the helm, which we're gonna talk about his contract and stuff.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, they could be any given team in the league, any given week.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: And so I I think that the Bengals showed that they're they're for real this year, man.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I think you guys showed that you're for real this year.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: I think you guys started fast.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: The offense put up 30, you know, obviously with the help of the defense, but the offense showed up in such a big way, bro.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I mean, dog, it's just like so much of pro ball is a battle of field position, turnover battle.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, and when you dominate in both of those two things in itself and our special teams playing like they did, like it makes offense, our our job so much easier offensively.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: And when we got guys, obviously like number one, number five, 88, 30, 81, you know what I mean?
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's like whoever the fuck you would have put out there.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Like, when you got the players and uh firepower that we do uh from a skill standpoint, bro, we just you give us good field position.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, we gonna we're gonna take advantage of you.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Man, for sure, bro.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I I gotta ask you this though.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I know Bengals fans is dying for this as well.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, obviously you go up on in practice up against Boye Mafe, Cash Styles of the World.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: What like what did you see right away?
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Even said Johnson got burnt.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: He was, he was, he was I I love like I love said Johnson.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: I trade with said Johnson in all seasons.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: That's a dog.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: I I grind we grind together.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: We spend a lot of time together, so I might be a little biased, but said is a fucking problem.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Man, like I'm I I got a lot of respect for dude, man, because I I see the I see the the daily the daily like time put in, time spent, like, and and uh but yes, sorry, because you're yes though, he's a fucking dog.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: I had to have to say that.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Bro, I'm watching the game, right?
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: We all know.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Let me just say this for the show, real quick.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we all know how great of a left tackle Tristan Works is.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: We know that already.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, right?
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: The player I hold in such high regard, I would say this.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: I think that any single, any, anytime you you you deal with Boye Mafei, the Miles Murphy's of the world, the the the Cassius Howes of the world, the Cedric Johnson, he can't he I think the Bengals did such a good job.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Al Golden and company did such a good job yesterday, man, of changing the picture up so many times.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you never could really get comfortable.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: And I when I was telling people in the offseason, I said the Bengals defensive line has a rotation of guys that they can deploy at any point in time.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: As a as an offensive lineman, talk talk me through that.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: What does that do when you constantly have a rotation of guys that could, you know, swap in at any point in time?
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: It does allow you to get comfortable at any point in time in the game.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: And you know, like when you talk about depth on the defensive line, uh I what I think always what makes a unit special, right, is is uh like the different body types they have and the different style of rushes.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: Um for in our case, uh here in Cincy, you know, you might start a game with Boye rushing you, you know, who's a different kind of body type.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: You know, he's gonna win the edge with power, you know, he's got really good hands, he's got a great long arm and stab.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Like he's got a good, he's he's really good in the run.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: You know, he does a great job getting off the ball.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: He's also a really smart football player, too.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: And, you know, then maybe the next series, you're seeing Miles Murphy, who is, you know, a six foot five speed demon with a high motor, an incredible long arm, it's hard to get a feel for that.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And then you got young cash coming over there, who is a lot smaller, but plays really big, who's got enough power to keep you honest, you know what I'm saying?
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: And like he's got a unique skill set in the way that he moves.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: It's a lot to prepare for.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: And so what happens is uh, you know, for a tackle in those situations, when your team is down and you're having this pass set, these different body types, uh, you know, the rhythm that you get in, it it you have to be able to have that feel to be able to change it based off who's over you.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Like you go from pass setting Mafe for two reps, and then you now you setting Miles Murphy.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: So your game plan, you got to be able to like go in, go in and out of your game plans for each guy.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: And that that creates a really, really tough advantage, especially when it's as hot as it was, when the crowd is as loud as it was, when guys are getting turnovers, when the uh quarterback is is having to hold on to the ball because coverage is so good.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Like uh, you know, it's a lot of different different things that kind of go into that shit.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: But, you know, man, those guys, the defensive line that we had, I've been, I mean, I've been seeing it since day one, since all these dudes got here.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, they just they play so hard.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: They play so hard, and they're they're all so talented.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Like, that shit is like so, it's gonna be so, so tough for anybody to deal with, uh, especially when the flow of a game goes away that it did on Sunday with the turnovers and you know, a fumble recovery for a touchdown, and now they're down by you know seven or ten points against the Cincinnati Bengals, whose offense can put up at 20 points at any time, you know what I mean?
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: And then you add in the fact that my dog shooter Mick Pherson is bombs away.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, what what it's like so it just it it's gonna it's gonna create a lot of issues for for offensive lines.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Man, I gotta ask you this too, bro.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, like, obviously you you know what it's like being in being in the game and preparing and practicing.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: What did you take away from this game?
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: That maybe you I mean, obviously it's week one, it's real, real live game raps happen, bullets is actually flying.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: What did you take away from the game that maybe you didn't you you didn't know about your team going into the season?
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, man, to me, um you know, I think the the the way that I would put it is a lot of teams use week one, two, three, sometimes four, to kind of establish identity.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it might even go five, but like you're kind of using this first quarter of the season to establish your identity.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: And um for us, I think when you look around our locker room and you look at the type of people that we have in there, there are a lot of guys that have really had to earn the right to like be a guy, you know what I mean?
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: And earn the right to, you know, be it, like really be a dude.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, I think of Murph in his situation, you know, he's in a contract year.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: He was might have been playing behind Trey a little bit for a few years, man.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: He's having to learn from Sam Hubbard, and you know, he he he was, you know, he he's got a chip on his shoulder now because it's like, you know, I think he he might have felt like for a while he was being held back.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: And that's our identity when you look around our locker room, you know, even with guys like Dex, man.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, I I know that like things didn't necessarily go as planned there in New York for him.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: And now he's got a fresh start in Cincinnati.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Like, he got a big ass chip on his shoulder.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: And that's who the Cincinnati Bengals are.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: You know, we we're a hungry football team, man.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: We got a lot of dudes from from in the end in that locker room that want to prove it.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: That that at the end of the day, you know, it's about the brotherhood that we share, uh, which in it in itself, you know, holds a lot of accountability, you know, between between one another.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Um and uh that's that's like the biggest thing that I see, man, is just we we got our identity is simple.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Like we got we got a lot of dudes that like really, really love one another in the locker room, but really feel like they got a lot to prove.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: And you know, when you when you dealing with when you're dealing with those type of personalities and characteristics from all 53 dudes that are suited on a Sunday, like that's a different kind of identity.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And like to me, that shit is sustainable in a way, because like we we got dudes that's like forever gonna want it, you know, because it if we feel like we all feel like we got something to prove, myself included.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: It's like fuck, I'm tired of hearing, you know what I mean, all the extra shit.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: I'm tired of hearing about all of the what I can't do and all those things.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: And you know, I I think I think for me that was probably like my biggest takeaway is like our identity showed and who we are um in the in that game.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Man, I agree with you so much, bro.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: I think for me, I didn't I didn't expect the operation to look as smooth as it did coming out week one.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I spent a lot of time on it too.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: And I think that's like that's a testament to this team being together for a long time, but also guys really buying in.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think that's a part of the process that you know obviously fans alike don't really see.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: They just see, oh, teams playing on Sunday, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: You know, it might look a little rough.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Man, that was probably the most exhilarating, I would say, that the city's been.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: But more importantly, I would say that everybody was pumped up just to see how how uh how locked in you guys were week one, man.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, week one.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so um, I think that all being said, man, hell of a win.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, hell of a win.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Hell of a dub, bro.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: That shit was fun.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Uh big win this uh big game coming up this week.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Got the Houston Texans, man.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Another playoff caliber team that was in a uh in a dog fight with the Buffalo Bills this past week, and Buffalo Bills pulled it up, so we know they're gonna be hungry.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: But I want to keep the conversation rolling.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: You know, keeping it on Baker, yeah, right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Like right before that game sort of happened, it was announced, Baker Mayfield just signed an extension with the Bucs.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right, largest in Buccaneers history guaranteed money, right?
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Well deserved, well deserved.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: That's a guy that took the mantle as the Buccaneers quarterback after Tom Brady, you know, obviously retired.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: And I feel like he's done it so gracefully, too.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I think that dude is an absolute dog.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh, talk to me about that though, man.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Type, you mean you saw Baker Mayfield out there, man.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: You got a lot of experience with Baker too.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Tell me about Baker's.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, Baker's literally family, man.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: I'm so happy for him, just the way that his career has really played out because I'm a big believer and everything happens for a reason.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: And the uh as mentioned before, man, I I've told you, man, this football shit can get really dark.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: And like there is a lot of lonely nights and sleepless nights, and and uh it it it can it can tear tear you away from the sport, you know, your love for the game.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: And you gotta be strong and have a really good support team and support system around you, the people, uh, you know, but you also you gotta be built different, you know, to be able to withstand kind of what he's been through and had to go through.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: And for his career to kind of be where it is today, man, and and get to the point where pretty much, I mean, this is his you know, third or fourth uh contract in the league, and you know, it being record setting, it's it's just special, man.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: He's earned it, you know, he works his ass off.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: He really loves everybody in that building, you know, he loves his teammates, his coaches, man, and you know, he loves the city of Tampa.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: You know, he he plays he plays with with that on his mind and on his shoulder and heart, man.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, to me, I think it's really shown up on tape over the last few years.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: I know yesterday didn't necessarily go as planned.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Um, but I I mean I just I can't say enough great things about him, man, because he he's a dude that like, you know, I I pride myself on working hard.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Like I even in college at a young age, like I pride myself on working hard.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: I would go in that indoor at Oklahoma at 5.30 in the morning on our off days, and I would go in there and I'm thinking I'm the first person in there.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna do my chain sets and I got my strength coach with me, and I'll go in that motherfucker, and Bake would be in there, bro, sweating, drenched.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: Like it's 5.30 in the morning on a Wednesday.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: He's fucking drenched, bro.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: He's sweating headbands.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: It means something and he's got fucking trash cans set up all over the field, and he had been throwing for, you know, an hour and some change already, bro.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Like this is like, you know, that's who he is.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, this guy was driving fucking Ubers in college, you know, to pay off his his uh his debts from being a walk-on and shit, because he enrolled in school.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: Like, this is somebody that like really has gotten it out the mud, man.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: So I'm just I'm just so I'm I'm so happy for him and his family and everything that he's been through in life and the in his football life, man, uh, to be able to come out on this end of things.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: So but they'll go out and have a great season, man.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Tampa's a playoff team.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Listen, when I look at Baker Mayfield, yeah, winner.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, winner, culture changer, yeah, franchise setter or resetter, if you will.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: I think that dude is an absolute dog.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: When I think of Baker Mayfield, I say winning mentality.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: You know who reminds me of?
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: We're gonna talk about it a little later.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Who is this?
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Jackson Dark.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I feel you.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Like it's that Moxie.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's that Moxie that like you could tell this fucking guy loves the sport, and people love playing for him.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Like, that's bake, bake brings that kind of energy, man.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Where he a dude, like, you want to put your shit on for that guy.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: You want to because like he it matters.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Makes guys believe.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he does.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: He does.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: He's gonna make you believe.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: However, he does it, he's gonna make you believe.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Listen, nothing like playing for a winner for her or for a guy that you know is gonna get it out the mud and is gonna put put the work in as well.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: So shout out Bake, shout out that contract extension.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Well deserved, well deserved.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Listen, I want to ask you a different uh question pertaining to contracts.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: You negotiated your own contract, bro, just this past offseason, right?
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, what surprised you about the process?
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Because you represented yourself.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Baker obviously had an agent.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: What surprised you about the process, you know, being in the thick of things, the wheeze of things with with an organization?
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, surprise me.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: Um, gosh, man, like I feel like I prepared as much as I could for it.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Because I'm like, I'm not gonna fuck this up.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right, right.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: But uh, you know, I can't say too much necessarily surprise me.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Um, but what I I can say that like I'm extremely thankful for the Blackburn family, the Brown family, in terms of uh the way that the operation and everything was able to go about.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Man, it made it so much, it made it so much smoother for me being a player in my position, uh, to have the freedom to openly commute openly communicate with them.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: They openly communicate with me.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: We get to a number, and I mean it being settled.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Like that, that in itself, uh, you know, you hear so many stories about, oh, we were here and we wanted this, and they said no.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, the thing about it, man, that the the the ownership was just so so straightforward with me, and that made the process a lot smoother on honestly both of us.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Man, listen, man.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: I know I maybe I'm a little biased, but I'm happy you stuck here in Cincinnati.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: You're my dog, my dog.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, we're gonna retire a bangle, too.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: You hear me?
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Gonna retire a bangle.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: But I want to keep the conversation rolling, bro.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: We had a big upset happen this week.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bro.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: The Cardinals beat the Chargers.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: The Chargers were nine and a half point favorites.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Now, yeah, in NFL, that doesn't mean anything.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: I think they used to have to line up against the guys next to you.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: But like guys, guys, you're gonna know, you know when you the underdog, though.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: Like, and and some and sometimes like I will say that shit, it shit might carry a little bit more weight weight than you think.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Because like, not saying that like guys are paying attention to odds and shit like that, but like, you know, I nine and a half point favorites is fucking crazy.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: That's good.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: In the NFL, yeah, that's crazy.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: But like, no matter how good of a team, but uh I guys do pay attention to that a little bit.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: I was gonna ask you about that a little further, bro.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Like, so like when a team like has an upset, for instance, what does that Wednesday practice feel like?
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, yeah, going in, like after you accomplish that victory, for instance.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, it you know, it really all depends.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: Like, the thing is, like, especially week one in the NFL, it's always a lot that goes into shit.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, and it's really all look all across the league, period.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: But um, man, that that's it's tricky, you know what I'm saying?
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: The thing is, I mean, I think because that game was in LA, right?
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: I'm not tripping, right?
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was in LA.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, Phoenix is, I mean, it's right there, you know what I mean?
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: So that you don't have to really worry about the stress of traveling halfway across the country for week one, you know.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: You going an hour or 45-minute flight away, you know what I'm saying?
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Like, on top of that, um, we all know the Chargers Stadium is beautiful, but I can't say it's always full of Chargers fans.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: So that that in itself is an advantage.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Um but uh and then you add into the to the type of guys that they got in Arizona's locker room, man.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: I I feel like I don't know Jacoby Brissett personally, but the things I heard about him, man, um, you know, I heard a lot of a lot of good things about him.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: Man, listen, I admittedly, I had the Chargers.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I thought I said, man, Herbert's got a lot riding on this year.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Harbaugh just did an interview where he called him.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: He said he got his opportunity to be the next GOAT at his position.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: When it's all said and done.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: So high praise coming from uh such a respected coach and stuff like that.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: It kind of was kind of a shocking to me, but I guess it shouldn't be a shock, right?
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Because this is the NFL.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: A lot of teams are playing with chips.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: They got a new coach in Arizona that was playing, playing, uh, playing for a lot, and everybody wrote them off.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: You said, you talked about it, you said, you know, guys see that they see that nobody, they're the underdog, so to speak.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: And you said that can sort of carry over.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: Have you ever seen, like, I guess in a locker room, guys kind of built the entire identity of that week around the underdog mentality?
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, like it happens, you know.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Like, I think when you take a step back and you look at Arizona and you know, uh because the Chargers are a good football team, and and Coach Harbaugh and what he does, man, um, you know, they're their general manager there in LA.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: I know Joe Ortiz really well, man.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Like, he's he's an amaz he's amazing at what the fuck he does.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: That's why they've been in contention the last few years.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: But um, man, to me, like Arizona and their culture and kind of what they're looking to build and the foundation they're looking to lay with a new head coach.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: You got Jacoby Brissett who was going through contract issues, you know what I mean, looking to prove some shit.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: You know, we've seen we've seen uh the rookie come out and play well in the preseason.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: He's like, fuck that.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Like I can do this shit too.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, just keep it in pee.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm just I imagine, like, as the competitor in him, it's like nothing against Carson Beck, but it's like, shit, like, fuck that.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: I could do this shit too, right?
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: You know, straight up.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: And and you know, Marvin Harrison, all the the the noise you've been hearing about him and all the all the crazy shit that you hear about him, and you know, I'm sure he probably felt like he had a lot to prove, you know what I'm saying?
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: And uh their left tackle is another guy that comes to mind, man.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Paris Johnson, who you know is is gonna be one of the higher paid guys at the position, uh, hopefully here soon.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, he's got a chip on his shoulder and Trey McBride.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: It's just, you know, you look at those circumstances and you know, they they're looking to create something new and change the narrative in Arizona.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, it was a lot of will.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: And I imagine, you know, you watch the tape on that football game, uh, you know, Arizona, Arizona was was playing hard as fuck.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, straight up.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: And I I think you I think that goes down to the to the want to as well, you know.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: They wounded up winning by two scores because again, people people wrote them off.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: People said, hey, you know, they can't do this, they can't be XYZ.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: Shout out to the Arizona Cardinals, man.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but we'll we'll see obviously how they continue to do as the season progresses on, but I think wow, hell of a start for them.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: If I'm if I'm a part of the Arizona fans fan base culture, I'm I'm excited.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: I'm pumped up because damn, like even if like this year doesn't result in playoffs free or whatever, this is such a great building block because the Chargers are a playoff team.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: You get that off against the Chargers, that's huge, it's huge.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Another crazy game that happened this week, man.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: The Bears put up 59 points against the Panthers, who put up 37 in their own right.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: First of all, shout out to Dave Canales as well, man, because everybody was talking crazy about Bryce Young, and that dude just seems like he is putting it together.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: That's a crazy game, though, to be a part of.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Have you ever been a part of a crazy game like that?
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Man, like that high score.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, well, he was a part of the unk bowl, too.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: The unk bowl.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: The unk bowl last year.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: He was a part of the unk bowl.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: That was crazy.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: We we played we played Patton College.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Uh that game was literally, I mean, I think over a thousand yards of offense.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, combined both sides.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: Uh Maybe even 1200 yards of offense.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: It was fucked.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: That game was crazy.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: In the NFL though, um damn, I don't know if I like Unc Bowl was high scoring.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: What was what was the let's fact check that?
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure the Unc Bowl was pretty high scoring because it went overtime.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: It went overtime.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Y'all won 41 to have to go do my Sean McVay memory bank thought process.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't, yeah, it's not a game that comes to mind, man, where I'm like where it stood out and it's like on the NFL level, it was like, yo, it was literally just touchdown to touchdown.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: But but even on the college for level why are you getting at, what is a sideline like when there's an offense that's just unstoppable?
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Like what's what do you what do you do, bro?
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Because I'm sitting there, bro.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Because if you offer you looking at the defense like, bro, what's going on?
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Like, all right, like you wanna get it together?
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: It's the funniest shit ever, bro.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: So man, this is fucking great.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: It's just great.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, coach through still get mad at me, but this shit, this shit aged like firewise.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: So we're playing, it's Oklahoma, Texas Tech.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Obviously, it's a lot in this game.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Um, this isn't college, so I'm gonna tell you.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: I'm I gotta give you the build-up.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: I'm here, I'm locking up sort of build-up.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: So, like Bake, you know, he walked on the tech and offensive newcomer of the year, Big 12, and they bring in Pat, uh, I forgot the damn number seven, Davis Webb, I think is his name.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, so Bake ended up leaving, and he enrolls at Oklahoma as a walk-on and then earns a scholarship, whatever.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: We red shirt.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: And so I think it's our red shirt sophomore year, his red shirt junior year.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: We go down, we go down to Lubbock, Texas, and past the starting quarterback.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, Bake's got the uh walk-on shirt, they got a shirt on that say trader and shit.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: And at Texas Tech, they throw these fucking like frozen tortillas at you on the side line.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: So like I remember like somebody threw a tortilla, that shit smacked the fuck out of Cole Stoops, made his ass right on the head, like early on, like before kickoff.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: I'm like, damn, this shit is hostile.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: So, so whatever.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: So that game was high scoring.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: And after about like the first quarter, I don't know how many points we had scored and how many you know touchdowns it was on the other team, but coach Stoops comes over to the offense and he goes, Hey, we can't stop them on defense.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be high scoring straight up, it's gonna be high scoring, and you guys gotta score every fucking series.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: So get your mind right.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: And I'll never forget that shit because like it was so real and authentic, and like we damn near scored every series.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, that was like literally the mindset.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Like, right, like we calling work Coach Riley was calling the game of his life there, but like um, that's like my little dose of like being a part of something like that.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Where and I'm glad I came out on the winning end of that one, that that crazy duel.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I mean, shit, sometimes it's like that, man.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, it's part of a team.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Shit, you gotta cover for each other.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Man, I'm thinking, like, what do you do in that situation?
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Because at that point, you know, I don't know.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: I I guess I'm looking from an outside perspective, and of course, never playing at a professional level of anything.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh, and that's college.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's I I I'm I imagine that the the defense looking like, all right, like we relying on you, and the offense is like, man, yeah, you gotta do your job.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Like somebody turn up here, but no, uh, I was watching that game and I was like, first and foremost, how absurd is it to put up 59 points in the NFL game?
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Because crazy.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: That's another.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, shout out to Ben Johnson, right?
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Shout out Ben Johnson and the play caller that he is with with the Chicago Bears.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: A lot of pundits going into even this season were like, oh, this could be a um uh uh I would say a year where the Bears could sort of take a step back.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: They didn't take a step back, they kept going, they kept going.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: So like I think that this Bears' offense is for real.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: You played y'all played against them last year.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: They're good, bro.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, they're good.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: And we just saw him in camp, too.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Like, you're good.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: I I think Ben Johnson, you know, I've I've seen all the statements he's made and stuff, and I feel him on that shit because like, I mean, their their offense is so good, man.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I think he just does such a great job calling a game, and the timing of the of the of his lot of his calls is just like it's not really what you would expect in a way.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Like it's hard to like, it's hard to react to the shit because it's just so much eye candy with emotions and personnel and you know the things that Caleb can do is is so unique, man.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: I'm like, it's crazy.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: But yesterday, I mean, Caleb was lighting it up though.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: He was lighting it up, bro.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, offensively, they they played the ass off.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: And it was cool to see him, you know, get some good, some good uh scramble runs too, man, for some big pretty big plays.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: What was his PFF grade?
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: Do we know his PFF grade?
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: I'm actually curious.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: That's the PFF back there.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, she she's gonna get us the stats.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: What's his PFF grade?
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Man, but shit better be like a 90 something.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Bro, he played his ass off.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he did.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: That team was on fire, bro.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: I don't think he threw interception or anything like that.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: I don't think so either, man.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: And shout out uh Manung guy, too, man.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: Backup running back, yeah.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Hell yeah, played his ass off, yeah.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: Man, we're gonna get to that a little later because I'm curious to hear who your unsung hero is of the week.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm curious here to hear that from you.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: While we're getting all of that, man, make sure you guys do us a favor, give this video a like, subscribe to the YouTube channel, turn on post notifications so you guys never miss when we uh turn up and we put we put content up, man.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: Please, please, we're begging you.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: Want to keep the conversation rolling, man.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the season started, man.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: Rams uh took on the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I gotta ask you this as a player.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, week one, number one, right?
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: You're going against a divisional rival.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but in Melbourne, Australia, bro.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Fucking crazy.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: But I get it though.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Like, football is a brand that's forever growing.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: And like Roger Dill, I feel you.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Like, grow this shit.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: I imagine we'll probably have games all across the fucking world here soon.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: So I feel it.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Like, I get up for football games no matter where they are.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: I play in a CVS parking lot.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: I don't give a fuck.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: But like Melbourne, Australia is crazy.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: But shit, you gotta do what you gotta do.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Man, so Sam Fran landed a full week before the game.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: The Rams a day before.
- 28:05SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: And it created a conversation where people were asking, like, well, what's the best route to go, so to speak?
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Because, like, what do you do, right?
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: And and by the way, I am happy this is above my pay grade.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: This is above OB.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: We ain't gotta worry about making these tough decisions, but uh, they were saying pretty much there's not a lot of data out there, right, to support either way.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, however, I want to ask you this how much of it do you think played a factor in the Rams only putting up seven points?
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Because that's not what we're used to.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: We're used to the Rams rolling, and the Rams only put up seven points.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: They lost 27-7.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: It was an upset.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: Although it shouldn't be upset because Kyle Shanahan, let me say it again.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Kyle Shanahan is one of the best play callers in the NFL.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: Brock Purdy played with his hair on fire.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: Brock Purdy played great.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Brock Purdy proved that, listen, he deserves to be the franchise starting quarterback there.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: But that's another team on the other end.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: And they heard all the hype, they heard all the all the talk.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: Obviously, I do want to give context though.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: The Rams were without Aaron Donald.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: The Rams also, uh, well, it's now known Miles Garrett's been dealing with a little bit of an injury, and now he's placed on IR.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: So how much of it do you think played a factor, like the travel played a factor in the Rams coming out sluggish?
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: Man, I really don't want to make excuses because like I just being keeping it real.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: Like I've been on the other side of shit like that, where like we we beat Philly in the Super Bowl and the whole talk was centered around like the field being slippery and shit.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Like I think outside factors, I was there.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you were there.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: I was there.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: That was that was a great, great feeling.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: But uh, you know, I think outside factors have a have a little bit of a play, but on the pro level, uh these players for the Rams knew the situation.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: It's not like they found out the week of the game.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: Hey, we're going out a few a day earlier.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Like they know, they've probably known about this for a long time.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: And so um, as a pro, like that's your responsibility to kind of like make do with what's being dealt, you know, in a way.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: Um because at the end of the day, like I said, it's hard to win like pro football games straight up.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: And for San Francisco to win in the fashion that they did, um, man, that's really impressive.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: You know, and I don't I don't want to take anything away from that by saying, shit, they traveled a day earlier.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: I think I just think shit, San Fran, for whatever reason, um they they looked, they looked and and played a lot more, a lot more uh physical.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: I thought they played their tails off, man.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Um and when I look at it too, I I don't think anybody should should leave week one any lower on the Rams, yeah, you know, after that game.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: That is another fantastic football team that they played on the other side.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Shout out Trent Williams.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: Trent Williams, a dog, by the way.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: That's what I thought out.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: I was watching that game, bro, and I was like, bro, he he he's getting up there in age, but he has not stopped.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: He's not aged at all.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: The dude is still playing like a top left tackle in his stuff.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: That's what that's what being an all-pro left tackle is about, too, man.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: Is like, what are you like in one-on-one situations?
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: And I think we turned on the tape throughout the last few years at Trent Williams, man.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: Probably since I'm gonna, I mean, we could say forever for as long as he's been doing it.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: But you know, specifically, man, I feel like these San Francisco years have been really like just different, you know what I'm saying?
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: And he's getting recognition finally.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, which I love to see, you know what I'm saying?
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: But like, um, just how well he is in in one-on-one situations.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: That's what makes him all pro.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: That's what makes him the best left tackle, I think, of uh our generation right now.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: I I love that praise.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: I love that praise from him.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: Listen, I I thought I was really impressed with the 49ers.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: I think the 49ers hit a lot of people over the head, pretty much reminding them like we're still here too, we're still here gonna hear be here to compete.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: Uh, I still think Fred Warner, yeah, one of one.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, Freddie is dog.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: He's a dog.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: It's insane, but he's a dog.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: I'm watching that game and I'm like, oh bro, also I want to say Nick Bosa reminded people, yeah, he's still him.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, people were forgetting, obviously, he's dealt with ailments, injuries last few years, whatever case.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: Maybe Nick Bosa played his ass off, bro.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, in such a in such a high stake game, too.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Where it was on it was National Television, everybody was watching it.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: And I thought that shout out Nick Bosa for sure.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I'm a fucking good, bro.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Man, so good, bro.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: Um, I think I'm gonna uh I'm gonna keep the conversation rolling, keeping it on the Rams, obviously.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: So Miles Garrett goes out, he's on IR now.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: But Aaron Donald is now back.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: That was the news that came out of this week.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Aaron Donald's officially back with the Rams.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: He did not play in the uh season opener against they expecting him to play week two.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: That's the that's the expectation, yeah.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: Him to play week two.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: Give me your thoughts first and foremost on Aaron Donald being back in the NFL, right?
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: The consensus, probably one of the best defensive players of our generation.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: Of all time.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, hell yeah.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Talk to us about Aaron Donald being back in the fold and what that does for this Rams team.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think it helped it helps him so much, man.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Just because like for the reasons we're talking about, I mean, he's you know one of the best defenders of all time, and uh the attention that he's gonna garner, play in, play out, like it's gonna be really high.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: Even even coming out of retirement, like it's it's like something you gotta respect.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: And you know, to me, I I don't even think it's uh necessarily worth testing out, like shit, is this dude at full back to his full hall of fame level of play?
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't even I wouldn't even mess around with that shit.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: Right, you know what I mean?
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Like I would make sure, like, hey, we this is I'm expecting him to be where he was when he left this shit, you know, if not better and more fresher with time off and shit like that.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Cause like in I think in these situations, like how often does a guy really come out of retirement and and be dominant?
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: Uh, I don't think it's necessarily often, right?
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: But like in a in a special instance with like Aaron Donald, like, I mean, it's a dude that like he really loves football, you know what I'm saying?
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: He was already like really good and he retired on his own.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: As the best as the best.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like most dudes, you know what I'm saying?
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Like, a lot of times I think when you know when you come out of retirement, it's like, oh shit, like, you know, he had a few down years, and you know, like it's like if Barry Sanders would have came back, it's like fuck niggas, they would have been like, shit, okay, it's Barry Sanders.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: Like, you gotta respect that.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: I think Aaron Dotto like garnish the same attention, man.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: Um, but he makes their football team a lot better.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: I agree, man.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: I think Aaron Donald's one of those guys, man, when you just turn on the tape and you watch him.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: Again, I'm a defensive-minded guy first, yeah, but I'm I'm looking at it from an offensive perspective.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: I'm like, how do we stop that guy?
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: And I would it would keep me up at night.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: I would have genuine nightmares because I feel like it's not somebody you can really game plan for.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: So I guess the question is, yeah, he's been away from the game for two years, which it doesn't feel like he's been away from two years, by the way.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: It really feels like he's been gone for a season, but he's been going away from the game for two years.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: Like, do you like what is first to come back, right?
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: Is it is it timing?
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: Is it speed?
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: Is it strength?
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: And that's hard to answer, right?
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: Too because you never retired.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: You've never experienced it.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've never experienced that.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: Like, I I in the instances that I'm going off of, like, I'm thinking of guys that have taken a year off of football and come back, like, that shit hard to do.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: Like, I but but those the guys I'm thinking of, they they aren't Aaron Donald.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: So right, right, right.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: So, like, what the what is it worth?
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: I think the Rams' hardest part is trying to be trying to figure out how can they stay afloat with Miles Garrett.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: Because obviously the ideal focus was hey, we want to have Miles and Aaron there together, yeah, right.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: But now with Miles expected to miss at least the next four games, yeah.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: We got a young Giants team, yeah, right, that they're taking on that's playing with a lot of confidence coming off a big divisional win against the Cowboys last night.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: Played their asses off.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they got the Bills in this gauntlet, yeah.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: They got the Broncos in his gauntlet, yeah.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: They had the Eagles in this gauntlet.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm looking at it and I'm like, it gets spooky.
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: It's tough.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: It's a tough team because I could honestly say, out of you might be facing four potential playoff teams right there.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, and the Giants specifically, like, I love, I love what I see.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: And like, I obviously I was drafted by Coach Harbaugh.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: Um, I've played under Matt Nagy.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: Uh I think Cali's there, right?
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Callie Hanna is there.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Yes, he is, yes, he is.
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: Um, Greg Roman's there.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Winners.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Um, they got a staff.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Like, and I can speak on the offensive staff.
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: I I can't off the top of my head remember who's on the defensive staff.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: But like, I mean, bro, the motherfuckers, they look good too.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: They look really, they look really good.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: They look really good.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: They look really good.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: So that Rams will definitely have their hands full.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: Have they had their hands full?
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:33SPEAKER_00: I want to ask you that a little bit more about Harbaugh, for instance.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: You played for him, you were drafted by him.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: Are you shocked by his culture uh reset that he's basically doing for the Giants?
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, the guy the guys, the group of guys just seen ball in Isaiah likely balling out, proving that he's a tight end one.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: And you know, in the NFL, he's capable of doing that, man.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: Are you shocked by by the quick turnaround that we're seeing from the Giants already?
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: No, man.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: Harbaugh, Harbaugh is uh he's an easy guy to play for in a way, you know what I mean?
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: And I think the one thing that he does an amazing job of uh that always stuck with me was being a master motivator, yeah.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: Understanding how to get the most out of guys.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: And, you know, he's he's got a little bit more control, I think, than he had in Baltimore in terms of personnel, you know, so the type of guys they're probably bringing in in and out of there, um, which I feel like he's kind of made that be known.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: Um But like uh I'm not surprised, man.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: That's that's who Coach Harbaugh is.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: He he understands like how to adjust and and and get the most out of a locker room.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: You know, I think about his probably pretty early on in his coaching career when he took over there for Brian Billick, uh, it probably was, you know, you know, he probably has somewhat of a mentality of how he thought things would go, right?
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: You know, but when you look over and you see Ray Lewis and Ed Reid and Terrell Suggs and Pernel McPhee and young CJ Moses.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean shit, like these are Jimmy Smith and like you know, Jacoby Jones.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I mean he took over and you know, they had a lot of personality, you know, they had a lot of veteran leadership and personality and guys that like were like ravens.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Like these these dudes are like this is what it means to be a Raven.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: Six or seven examples, like clear as day, you know.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: And um he he took over that job, and like I imagine he probably had an idea of how he wanted to shape things for them.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: But like once you kind of realize, once he probably realized, you know, what he had, he was able to make the most of it.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: You know, and they won a Super Bowl there pretty early, pretty pretty early, and we're always in playoff contention up until that point.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: Um, and then you know, I think even the transition over to Lamar being a part of that from you know Flack to Lamar, seeing the differences in, you know, his coaching style.
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: And and you know, it it might even went from talking about guys wearing underwear to put on your draws, like straight up.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: You something as simple as that.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: Like that carries weight, you know, like like you you notice that as a player.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: And so I think that's one of Coach Harbaugh's strong suits is like, you know, somewhat, I don't want to say being a chameleon, but like understanding the room.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: What's your best memory of Coach Harbaugh, man?
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: Because from an outside perspective, he seems like a character, he seems like a guy that gets true leader of men, man, that you know, re-resets the culture.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: And obviously, he comes into New York with a lot of respect already.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: Many winning seasons in Baltimore, was the man in Baltimore, won a championship there, and now you got a young team with the Giants.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: That's obviously what's your best memory of Coach Harbaugh, man?
- 39:20SPEAKER_01: Best memory?
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, we had a lot of good memories, man.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: Um I I'm gonna throw out, I'm gonna throw out like the wildest one.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: It was uh my rookie year, and we had to report to training camp early.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: We played in the Hall of Fame game.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: Our rook from rookie minicamp to reported training camp was 10 days.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: We had 10 days off.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Normally most guys get a month, uh, but we had 10 days off.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Um, and he threw us the craziest bone of all time, man.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's nothing better than like, you know, you hear these stories and shit in college.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: Uh this was like my first taste of it in the NFL.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: We all get suited up.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: We go out to practice and you know, we bring it up, and you know, he says, hey, yesterday's practice was uh.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: But the buses are outside, we're going to the movies, fellas.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: That shit was, I mean, that probably was the clutchest bone of all time.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: Like at that time, like bodies was hurting.
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, motherfuckers is fucked up.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, we're going, we're going to the movies.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's that.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: You remember what y'all saw?
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: Um, damn.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Man, that would have been 2018 summer.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: What the I probably slept the whole time.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I just probably went to sleep the whole time.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: But to me, that's probably one of my better memories.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: And obviously, we had so many great wins too, man.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: That was that was like special to be a part of.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: I always like, you know what?
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: Another story I always like was uh it's unfortunate that we that we lost the game, but like I always appreciated like his uh mentality, like in terms of uh, you know, shit, just just standing on business.
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: And we played the Titans one year, um, and they kind of ran out and went up beating him in the playoffs, man.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: But they ran out, stepped all on our logo and shit.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: And Coach Harbs, like, why because all the players are in the tunnel, like we getting ready to get called out, you know, offense and full team and all that go through that.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: Shit, he ran up on, you know, ran up on the players, you know.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: He's got his head set on, and hat crooked and shit.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: Who you guys think you are?
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Like, I always, always appreciate it.
- 41:24SPEAKER_00: Man, so true players coach through and through.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man, I'm excited to see what he does with the Giants.
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: And you know what's crazy?
- 41:29SPEAKER_00: I feel like he is the right, him and his brother are both very similar.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but he is the right coach for the you know, he has the right temperament for this young Giants team.
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: Cam Scattaboo, yeah, beast.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: Jackson Dart, beast.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: Malik Neighbors, yeah, tip of the hat, man.
- 41:43SPEAKER_00: He looks like he is ready, man.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: And so like I think the one thing that kind of stood out to me about the Giants game, if I could say this, is I love seeing a young quarterback, especially like nowadays in today's NFL, yeah, learn to take the easy outlets.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, right.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: So I know we're eager to push the ball down the field, but just seeing that maturation and Jackson Dart's game where he's like, hey, I'm gonna keep checking it down to the running back.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna force the Dallas Cowboys to either respect it or let something open up deep.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: And I would say like Jackson Dart last year wasn't really doing that.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but seeing that evolution of his game, I'm like, man, yeah, the jump from year one to year two, yeah, magnificent.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I gotta be honest with you, like it's funny because all the quarterbacks I've played with, like, that is like a uh that's a big part of maturation as a quarterback is like ego to the side, yeah, willing to take the easy ones, you know what I'm saying?
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: And and like I think as football players and competitors, like we naturally, like we're all really greedy.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know what I mean in the moment.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: Like, naturally, like shit, I would love to just throw two hands at a defender and crumble them every single rep.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: Like, and you know, there's times that it happens, but I can't do that every play, you know what I'm saying?
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: And for the quarterback, like it's the idea that like, okay, single hot coverage, I see my guy one-on-one, I can take this shot.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: Like maturation is letting it play out and taking an easy outlet.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Uh, and so I think that's the biggest thing I've seen with with Dart is you know, he's just he's he's uh his maturation has has shown.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: And you know, the good thing about guys like Jackson Dart and where he's at in his career, you know, you look at what's around him.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he would tell you too, like, you got Jameis Winston in the room with you, who's who's who's a guy who's thrown 30 interceptions and 30 touchdowns of the season.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: And like he's been the young number one overall pick that's going out and done it and made the mistakes and you know, and been in the playoffs and done all he's seen a lot of ball.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: So, you know, he's great to have around.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, as mentioned, man, his coaching staff, and you know, you got Callie Callie and you know, Coach Nagy and Greg Roman, all three coaches that come to mind, man, that have been around uh elite level high high quarterbacks and have been coaching a long time, you know what I mean, and have a great understanding of the game.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: And so he's surrounded by really Really good football minds, man, that that I imagine uh helped make things a lot easier on him uh for his maturation process.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: Bro, I think some of the best film, obviously, and it's gonna probably be one people are gonna say duh after you see this, but Tom Brady, man, like like you look at Tom Brady, he made a career out of passing to his check downs, bro.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: Passing it to the running backs, bro, whether it's the Rex Burke heads of the world or the Danny Woodheads of the world, um, the Shane Verenes of the world, Legarrett Blunt.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: He will just take his check downs.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: He will literally look at what the defense is trying to do and it would say the first thing he talked about in some of his interviews is where's my outlet?
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, where what's my outlet?
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: That's the that's the first thing I'm looking at.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: And I think that's so important in today's NFL because offense is key.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: We we know that a lot of these offensive players are getting paid a lot of money and the NFL wants to see a lot of points, obviously score.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I think what's gonna keep offenses running smoothly and what's gonna keep quarterbacks uh uh around a lot longer is the ability to take, you know, take the check downs, take the easy, take the easy routes, the easy passes, throw it to your running backs, throw it to your tight ends.
- 45:01SPEAKER_00: They are your friends through and through.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: And so just seeing that part of uh you know Jackson Dart's game go to the next level.
- 45:08SPEAKER_00: I I keep looking at it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: I'm like, Isaiah likely is gonna eat in this offense.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: I saw what he was gonna, what he was capable of, obviously all when he was in at Coastal Carolina and he was with the Baltimore Ravens.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: He looked good.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: And now he's getting a real opportunity now to be the true tight end one for the New York Giants, man.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: I think he's just gonna keep running with the opportunity, man.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: No, he's gonna ball for now.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 45:27SPEAKER_00: He did play well last night, too.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: In such a big way, man.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: In such a big way.

- 45:38SPEAKER_00: Listen, another big game happened over the weekend, switching over from the NFL to college ball, man.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: Uh Texas took on Ohio State in Texas.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: And uh, man, was it a crazy game?
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: Ohio State led most of the way, was up 21-3 going to the fourth quarter.
- 45:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: And you know what's so funny?
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: I was talking with my buddy about this, and we said, um, I said, I felt like this could be a big game for Archmanning.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: I thought it was gonna be a big game for Texas, big game for Archmanning.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Ohio State is who they are.
- 46:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:07SPEAKER_00: But just seeing the poise, I would say, I think that's the thing that shocked me the most.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: Seeing the poise that Texas showed through all three quarters.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the game didn't break open until the fourth quarter.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: And I remember I texted you and I was like, Texas looking rough, bro.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: Texas looking rough.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: But what'd you say?
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: What'd you say?
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: Well, I just I said that their O line has been really good in Pass Pro.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: And that's kind of what they were gonna need to kind of get out of that funk.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: And uh I think I I fucking hate Texas.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: I just want to go on the record.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: I fucking hate Texas.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: Like, so like I fucking hate Texas.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: Let's go to one to ten.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: One to ten.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: Chris Brown.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: Like, I hate Texas.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't like Texas at all, but I'm gonna speak positively about Texas right now.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: Um, no man, they they they balled out.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: Like, they balled out, they play really well.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: Um, their offensive line, I think, was like the strong suit for me when I watched that football game.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: There were some ups and downs uh in the trenches initially to start the game.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: And uh to me, man, by the end of that game, like they were doing their job.
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: And uh a lot of times in those type of football games, especially in college football, when you've got to climb out of a funk, um, your quarterback is gonna need time.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: And and Ohio State did a great job doing some really, I'm not gonna say I'm gonna say unique things.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen the all 22, um, but I know Coach Patricia has an incredible, you know, football mind, man.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: Um, so I imagine it was some probably really unique things in coverage that you know caused, caused a little bit of uh confusion for Arch, but the the got front front five for Texas man played really well uh to be able to help set that team up.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Man, I've always wanted to ask you this question, man, because you know the environment was nuts.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: You know it was crazy.
- 47:46SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: College football crowds versus NFL crowds, what's crazier?
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: Um man, you know, I I've I'm like, I'm in the in football life, I'm fucking spoiled, bro.
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: Like I'm spoiled.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: In football life, I'm I'm I'm spoiled, bro.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: Like, like like I can go on a long, long, long list of like how fucking I'm spoiled as fuck.
- 48:09SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't block for a Heisman winner who was a Heisman finalist.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Every year he's a starter.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: I've three MVPs in NFL, or I'll say three.
- 48:19SPEAKER_01: Joey B gonna get one.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: So three MVPs, three Hall of Fame level quarterbacks.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I'm spoiled, bro.
- 48:25SPEAKER_01: Like I really am.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: Um college or NFL like crowds, uh like Oklahoma, like that shit is forever like special to me.
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: Just because like, you know, the Red River Rivalry game, OU Texas, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, bro.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: Like, I swear it's nothing like that.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Like, I've I've never experienced anything like that.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: I just for whatever reason, that game is just, I don't know, the tradition of it was just different.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: Um, but there is a few, there's there's a few, I I would say like, I'm gonna just leave Oklahoma, you know, in its own box.
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna say, playing at Oklahoma State, um, in those games that we had against them, boom pickings, when people slapping the field and shit, slapping the the walls of the field, crazy.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Um I'm gonna add in uh West Virginia, crazy.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: Kick they ass in the snow, but it was still crazy.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: The fans was crazy.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna add in um playing at Arrowhead, man, crazy environment.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: MT Bank Stadium, crazy environment.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: Seattle, uh, crazy environment, man.
- 49:33SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say those are probably for me, outside of OU, Texas, and the University of Oklahoma home games, those are probably five stadiums that come to mind where I say, like, damn, I can remember how loud, like loud it was.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: We played at Tennessee my freshman year too.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: That was insane.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, I couldn't hear the man next to me.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna throw, I'm gonna throw that in there too.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: Bro, just thinking on an NFL level, right?
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: Because I've been to a lot of NFL games myself.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Arrowhead.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: Crazy.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: It's loud, it's loud in there, bro.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: It knows it is crazy.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: No, it's loud.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: And I've been in there, I've been in there as the opposing team and the home team.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, it's loud.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think the Bengals have done such a good job in the last couple of years.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bro.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: It gets loud.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: I've been inside the stadium sitting in the seats, and I've been inside the stadium sitting in the suite.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, more suite games than sitting in seat games, I would say, but it is incredibly loud, bro.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: Like to the point where you cannot hear the person that's next to you.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: Well, that's what I was just about to say, too.
- 50:27SPEAKER_01: Like, I after I said Tennessee, like, bro, like honestly, our games, like that shit yesterday felt like a college game.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, it was loud, bro.
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: Shout out Bengals fans.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, shout out who they nation.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, our our pay core gets rocking, bro.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: And and for the times that I was in Kansas City playing here, bro, those games were insane.
- 50:46SPEAKER_01: I think the craziest one I seen for Pay Corps though was um, you know, obviously a series of unfortunate events, the Damar Hamlin night.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: But from what I saw on TV pregame, that Monday night was versus Buffalo, crazy.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: You were there, I was there, bro.
- 51:00SPEAKER_01: That shit, bro, you could see it bleeding through the TV.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: I'm like, yo, it is rocking in there right now.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: Bro, that's I keep trying to say, NFL, hear me out.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: I know you like to do a lot of primetime games for the Bengals taking on Pittsburgh, Ravens.
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: Since he needs more primetime games, bro, yeah, the the environment is crazy.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: Some of the loudest games I've been a part of.
- 51:25SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm sorry, I've been to, not been a part of, I am play.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: But I got it out there.
- 51:30SPEAKER_00: I am playing.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: See, I'm not like I'm on the team, but listen, uh, it was uh it was also another unfortunate event, but it was uh Cincinnati taking on the Miami Dolphins.
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: Um, it was when two unfortunately got hurt.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: That one was crazy too, bro.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: That was insane how loud it was.
- 51:49SPEAKER_00: It was when y'all was wearing the color uniforms, if you know it was nuts, bro.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: It was it was so intense, it was so crazy.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: And that's why I'm saying Pay Corps really listens, bro.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: When Zach get on there and Joe and y'all get on there, y'all like, man, stripe out the jungle, go crazy.
- 52:02SPEAKER_01: They do, yeah, bro.
- 52:03SPEAKER_01: Cause it because in terms of like NFL teams that like have real home field advantage.
- 52:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, my list personally might sound fucking crazy, but obviously you're gonna put Paycore in there.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: Yes, like our fans are fucking crazy.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, we gotta have the drunkest fans in the NFL, too.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, we gotta have the drunkest fans.
- 52:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Bills might have us beat low-key.
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: We we gotta be close though.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: We gotta be close.
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: We gotta be a close one.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: Like PayCorp Stadium, bro, like on game day, tailgaten, the vibes.
- 52:34SPEAKER_00: It's one of the few football, like professional football towns, bro, that has the ability to have a college like atmosphere.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it feels like college.
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: Like it really does, though.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: It really does.
- 52:43SPEAKER_00: I said this years ago.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, when I was partnering with this one company, I said, yo, we should bring college game day atmosphere to Cincinnati.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we should do.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I said, they said, really?
- 52:51SPEAKER_00: You think that we're I was like, yes, bro.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: We can do that.
- 52:53SPEAKER_00: Bengals fans will show up in droves.
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: They they get really passionate, they're really behind this this city, this team, this whole nine yards.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: They they they're passionate, they love the Bengals here.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, bro.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: I learned that early, bro.
- 53:03SPEAKER_00: And so when I talk about loud football games, man, that's what comes to mind.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know if you even got a chance to notice, but Baker was saying yesterday they couldn't hear, they were having communication issues on the offensive the ball.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: And then it felt like every snap, um, it felt like every snap they were, it was right down to the wire.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: The play clock, the not the not the game, but the play clock was down to the wire for them where they could not hear, they could not get it.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: So they had to waste a couple timeouts.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: And that's a shout out to to Bengals fans as well, man.
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: Man, that y'all show up in droves in a big way.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: But man, I I just thought that that back going back to to kind of Arch, and you know, obviously I thought he played, I thought he I didn't think he had a Heisman game, but I thought he had a Heisman moment at the end of the game, man.
- 53:42SPEAKER_00: That drive at the end, yeah, phenomenal, man.
- 53:45SPEAKER_00: So shout out, I I won't say it too too much on this show because you know, I will just say shout out Archon and them boys.
- 53:50SPEAKER_00: That's what we're saying.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: Horns down, you know what I'm saying?
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: But keeping the conversation rolling, man, you know, we obviously talk about everything on this show, man.
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: It's inside the pocket, man, with OB.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: You know, I want to talk about you know Ryan Garcia in a big way, bro.
- 54:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Ryan Garcia just had a huge knockout over Connor Ben uh this past weekend, bro.
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna sit keep the conversation very, very niche, if you will, and very, very quick.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: I I personally think Ryan Garcia is the most exciting boxer of the last 10, 15 years.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: He's not the most technical, right?
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: And we've had a lot of great boxers we've watched.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: We watched Floyd, obviously, the GOAT, in my opinion.
- 54:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Um, we watched Floyd, we've seen Canelo, we've seen um so many talented boxers come through Bud Crawford.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: I'd be remiss if I mentioned if I didn't mention Bud, Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury.
- 54:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:36SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 54:37SPEAKER_00: You agree with me?
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: Would you say Ryan Garcia is the most exciting boxer, I would say finisher in the bot in boxing in the last 10, 15 years?
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm a I'm a Baltimore native.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: Like, oh, I know, I know you go.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm a Baltimore native boy, and ain't nobody fucking with that one.
- 54:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, tank.
- 54:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that real killer.
- 55:00SPEAKER_01: Like, so like, I just I but I will say, I do enjoy watching Ryan Garcia fight, man.
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: That fight that he had, bro.
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: Bro, bro, he put it on him.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: He did, bro.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: He put it on the fight.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: And it was exciting, it was really exciting.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: And the second bro, that doesn't happen in boxing anymore.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: The second round knockout, yeah, bro.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: That is so crazy to do, bro.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the high stakes, the you know, but I'm looking at I'm like, Ryan Garcia answered the challenge, bro.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: Everybody was saying Connor Ben was a little bit too more too too technical for him.
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: But I didn't see that when I watched film when I saw it.
- 55:30SPEAKER_00: I said Connor Ben likes these rough and tough style of fights.
- 55:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I said if Ryan could force him into a chaotic fight, which he did, it was gonna be his fight to lose.
- 55:39SPEAKER_00: But you know what's funny you brought up Tank.
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: Tank is now saying he's open to a rematch with Ryan Garcia at 140.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: Sound like a lot of money.
- 55:46SPEAKER_00: A lot of money being made, if you ask me.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: A lot of money on the floor, man.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: So I I I I look at it, man.
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: Who who so you would you say right, would you say Javante's the most exciting boxer you've seen in your in your lifetime?
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man.
- 55:58SPEAKER_01: I really that's high praise.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, I like I'm from Baltimore, and then you know, you gotta think like Tank only a few, maybe one or two years older than you, too.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: Like, I mean, duh, I don't know.
- 56:08SPEAKER_01: It's it's something about Tank, though.
- 56:09SPEAKER_01: I like watching, I like watching dude fight.
- 56:11SPEAKER_01: Man, like I just I fuck with his energy.
- 56:14SPEAKER_00: Man, listen, I think Tank is gonna be a problem.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to see him uh, you know, obviously get back into the ring because I feel like he I feel like he has a lot of exciting fights still to offer, whether it's the Tia Fimo Lopez, the Ryan Garcia rematch.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: I still need to see Devin Haney versus Tank.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: Still need to see that.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: I still need to see.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: Listen, I'm from Jersey.
- 56:32SPEAKER_00: Listen, I'm from Jersey through and through.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: Listen, I'm from Jersey through and through.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: And you know, uh OB from Baltimore, he, you know, he's a he's a he's a tank guy.
- 56:41SPEAKER_00: I'm a tank guy too, but we know the fight we need to see.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: Shakur Stevenson versus Tank.
- 56:48SPEAKER_00: I don't know, I don't know what side you're gonna take when they fight, but I'll tell you right now, that's gonna be a crazy fight when it finally does happen.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: OB, I gotta ask you this, bro.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, who's your unsung hero, right?
- 56:58SPEAKER_00: NFL, you know, week one is wrapping up.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: We still got the game tonight, obviously.
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: Um, with uh Broncos and the Chiefs take going on going head to head and arrowhead, Pat Mahomes return.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: But so far, who would you say is your unsung hero of the week, NFL wise?
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm gonna give my bias.
- 57:14SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna give my bias.
- 57:15SPEAKER_01: I'm here for it.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: Um two guys come to mind for me, man.
- 57:19SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know, I know they didn't get a ton of time on Sunday, but Chris Jenkins, for the time, for the time that he was in, I feel like was very effective.
- 57:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 57:28SPEAKER_01: He played his ass off uh and did a great job spelling, spelling those guys inside when need be.
- 57:34SPEAKER_01: Um the other one is Dante Myers.
- 57:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think I think of the jet sweep where he made a gotten miss and took it 10 plus yards or however many that was.
- 57:44SPEAKER_01: The other one, that third down catch in two minute or four minute there at the end of the game to close out the game.
- 57:49SPEAKER_01: He catches it and gets vertical and and you know makes a play there, and I think it's it gets a first down for us.
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: Um, those are two guys, man, that like, you know, they've they've uh they've really had to earn their opportunities.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: And, you know, some of the outside factors in terms of who's in front of them and why they aren't playing isn't on low nim.
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 58:09SPEAKER_01: It's more so the situation and circumstances that they've kind of ended up in.
- 58:13SPEAKER_01: Um, but those are two guys, bro.
- 58:15SPEAKER_01: Like, just my biased opinion, being a Bengle, like two unsung heroes, man, of guys that made plays uh when we needed the most.
- 58:23SPEAKER_00: Man, listen, I think those are two great shouts, bro.
- 58:26SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be a little biased too.
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna mention Bengals, too.
- 58:28SPEAKER_00: I even though I thought shout out Kyle Manangai did such a great job back at running back for the Bears.
- 58:32SPEAKER_00: I think he had 100 yards, beast, absolute dog.
- 58:36SPEAKER_00: Umsung heroes.
- 58:39SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go Bengals as well, too, real quick, if I can.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh I'm gonna go William Wagner.
- 58:45SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go William Wagner.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: Shout out Lil Bill.
- 58:47SPEAKER_00: Man, listen.
- 58:48SPEAKER_00: Shout out Lil Bill.
- 58:49SPEAKER_00: That's a smooth operation right there.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: Money Mac proved that he's still that guy, man.
- 58:55SPEAKER_00: And listen, Money Mac was putting things through, man.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: Listen, I think he had one field goal yesterday that I'm I swear would have been good from 67.
- 59:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I swear it would have been good from 67.
- 59:04SPEAKER_01: I said shooter is the rec the record, is what he's the first Bengals kicker to make two 55-yard field goals in this in a game for sure.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: I definitely think that's broke that record.
- 59:17SPEAKER_01: He's the first Bengals kicker to make two 55 plus can we can we pull that up if we can, please?
- 59:24SPEAKER_00: But yeah, Money Mac, absolute beast.
- 59:27SPEAKER_00: Bro, the Bengals punted one time yesterday.
- 59:30SPEAKER_00: Ryan Rico only got the punter.
- 59:31SPEAKER_00: He only punted punted one time.
- 59:32SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure he punted one time yesterday.
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: If I'm we got the best punter in football, it's crazy.
- 59:37SPEAKER_01: We don't have to use him.
- 59:38SPEAKER_01: We got the best punter in football.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 59:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Ryan Rico is is he punted one time, if I'm not mistaken.
- 59:45SPEAKER_00: I'm getting this, I'm getting this, this, this down, make sure I'm saying accuracy, but I would say, yeah, one punt for 51 yards yesterday.
- 59:52SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 59:52SPEAKER_00: One punt 51 yards.
- 59:53SPEAKER_00: But William Wagner is what I will say, man, because that's a smooth operation.
- 59:57SPEAKER_00: I remember a couple years ago, that was a whole big thing.
- 59:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 59:59SPEAKER_00: Bango's operation.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_00: Like, how is it?
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_00: How is it looking smooth?
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: Is it is it operating together?
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_00: And uh man, that that operation is just flawless, you know.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_00: And so shout out him, shout out him, Money Mac.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_00: I'm sure a lot of time and effort gets put into it.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_00: Another guy I want to shout out, though, Eric all.
- 1:00:14unknown: Oh man.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_00: Eric all blew somebody up, bro.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, bro.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_00: And uh I was like, man, that's a dude that you know obviously can do it all.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he can do it all.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: I got a couple of guys important to our team, too, bro.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_00: He's so important.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_01: He really is.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_00: Talk about it.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, I mean, I just like I feel like guys like Eric all kind of go under the radar at times, like from a fan perspective, because like obviously it isn't like a ton, ton of huge plays that that he necessarily makes.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: Um, because he's been out for you know the last few years, man, with his injury.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: But um, man, I mean, just his physicality, uh, how he is and um you know his approach been on a day is is is different.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_01: You know, I even brought my sons his jerseys.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, both my sons.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_00: Listen, Eric all just seemed like a guy that wants it, man.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_00: I think we had the we had the record uh here too.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_00: It three three 50 plus yard field goals and one game from Money McPherson, man.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_00: Shout out shooter, man.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: Man, an absolute problem, bro.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_00: Um, I would also I also just want to shout this dude out real quick.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_00: That's my dog.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_00: I was texting with him uh last night.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_00: Mike is ecci, man.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_00: Mike G.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_00: Mike G is a problem, bro.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he is.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_00: He's a problem, bro.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_00: And I'm so happy that he's finally listening.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_00: That's a dude that's so talented.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_00: There's so many talent.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_00: You talked about it earlier on the show.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_00: You said there are so many guys on this team with a chip on their shoulder.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right?
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Dalton Reisner, another guy, should we all know should be should have been on a team and got that call with the Bengals, bro.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_00: And he's just done nothing besides run with the opportunity.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_00: And Mike Gasicki, the same thing.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_00: Dude had produced two 700 plus yards season with the Miami Dolphins, right?
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_00: They wasn't able to kept getting these one-year deals, one-year deals, one-year deals.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_00: Finally broke through with the Bengals, man.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_00: I'm telling y'all right now, I said it obviously on the show that I do, uh, but I said I'll say it again.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Mike Gisicki, he's the truth, man.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_00: He's a problem, he's a problem.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_00: And so I just want to shout that out because I think he's in for a hell of a season, man.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_00: I'm yeah.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_00: No, I agree.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_00: I'm pumped up, man.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: I'm pumped up.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: Listen, little social talk, real quick.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, oh shit.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_00: You know, social talk.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if y'all know anything about Obi, what y'all gonna learn on the show?
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_00: Because it's inside the pocket, right?
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, listen, I'm not a left tackle, I'm not an offensive lineman.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_00: This is his show, man.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_00: It's inside the pocket, man.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_00: But he he's a big um Mariska Haggerty fan, and she's hosting uh Mariska.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, Haggart.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_00: Haggart Tay, you know, Hagar Tay.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_00: How to pronounce it right.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_00: But uh, you know, uh, she is now in her 28th season of uh, you know, Law and Order SVU, right?
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_00: Yep, but she is the first female in 15 years to be hosting the Emmys.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's dope.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_00: So that's amazing, first and foremost.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_00: And so I think it's just that level of consistency too.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_00: So I wanted to ask you, how you know, from a football perspective, right?
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_00: Maybe we're looking at it from your lens.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_00: What do you think sustained success looks like?
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_00: Like to be doing something that long, to be in that spot, that type of position for that long.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_00: What does that look like?
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_01: It takes a lot.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_01: Like, it takes a lot.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_01: Like you've you've got you've gotta have uh you've gotta have a lot of consistency over time, you know.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_01: You're willing to truly commit to something and say, all right, like this is what the fuck I'm gonna do.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_01: Um outside of that, you know, you've gotta have a plan and you've gotta stay consistent, day out with your plan and your approach.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_01: Um and I imagine, you know, as an actress, like it's it's uh I I wanna say it's probably she's probably at the point now where it's like easy to turn off.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_01: But I bet you she probably had to get to a point where you know she felt like she could turn it off and on.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_01: For real, you know what I mean?
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_01: So like I bet you it's different stages of of uh of that profession, you know, that you kind of get to.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, man, just consistency over time is like, you know, as simple as it sounds, it's one of the hardest things to do.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_00: But like even doing this, bro.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, even doing this, you know what I mean?
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_00: Like, I so I get it completely.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_00: I think this is a big year for her.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_00: Obviously, her New York Knicks won the NBA championship too.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I'm a Boston Celtics fan, so I'm not, you know, we we feel a way about that, but you know, harassing the New York Knicks about it.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_00: Let me ask you this, OB.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right, because you you pay attention socially, what's going on?
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you ever see yourself hosting something like that?
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_00: OB hosting the Emmys.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know about the Emmys.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_01: I think I could I got a better chance with like something maybe even uh I could do the Emmys.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_01: Fuck it.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's do it.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: Let's do it.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_01: Fuck it, dude.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: Hell yeah, I can do it.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_01: Hell yeah.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_00: Let him host what's it called, bro?
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the NFL Awards.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_00: What's it called?
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_00: NFL Honors Awards.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_00: What's the other one we do?
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_00: What's the other one?
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_00: Man, I'm making a campaign, man.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_00: I'm making a website and everything, shirts made and all that.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, put me up.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_01: What's it, man?
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_00: What they do for all sports leagues, bro.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_01: We come together, SPs.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: Let OB host the SPs, man.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: I would love to like that's some shit I think I will really fucking enjoy.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_01: I would really enjoy talking shit to people in the crowd.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_00: You get your jokes on.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_00: You get your jokes on.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_00: I get my jokes.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_00: Yo, people be sitting up there upset.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they'd be like, holy shit, this dude don't shut up.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_00: You know, man, I uh, you know, I man, man, turn turn to the conversation, man.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_00: You know, um this uh this past week, uh obviously on 9-11th, you know, I uh you know, me being from New Jersey, that is such a it's one of the one of the things that still give us chills talking about it, man.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_00: They got this uh we got this little thing up in Jersey, it's called Eagle Rock, where they had all the names of the lives that were lost during 9 11th.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_00: And it's such it's such a uh a chilling, a chilling, um, chilling thing when whenever people bring it up.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_00: Obviously, growing up 25 minutes outside of New York City is still something that Close to home.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: I remember being pulled out of school, yeah.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_00: Obviously, when that when that took place, and yeah, um, I I um you know I remember even going to I was at a Bengals game opener against the Jets a couple years back, 2016.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, 2016, I was at that game.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_00: AJ Green went for like almost 200 yards on Darrell Reeves.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_00: And um just you know, just just knowing how much that means, man, to you know, people, uh people all all across America, of course, but definitely it hits different, bro.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_00: Being being if you're from the East Coast, it hits it hits entirely different.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_00: But Obi, you got your own personal story, man, with that.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_01: I do, man.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_01: You know, um, man, 9-11 uh when when that happened, I was in school too.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_01: Um I remember uh, you know, obviously the when they let us know, and and my mom came and got me and my my brother.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_01: Um at the time my dad was going through the lawsuit um with the NFL, so he was in New York.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_01: And um he was in the hotel connected, you know, to the World Trade Center or right across the street from it, you know, that Hilton right there.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_01: And so uh when it initially happened, man, that was, you know, at the time, I think I might have been only five or six years old, but that that was like the first thing that came to my mind was man, my dad's in New York.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_01: You know, I wonder if like if it's close to that.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_01: And you know, it turns out obviously it was.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_01: But um sharing my dad's story, man, uh it's it's one of the craziest things ever.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_01: Because my dad was one of these people, right?
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_01: Like, he grew up in Washington, D.C.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_01: in the 70s and 80s, bro.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_01: Like he didn't seen, like he saw some shit.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like he like he seen shit.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_01: Like he seen shit.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_01: And the way that he would talk about 9-11 is crazy.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_01: And and uh, you know, I think for me, like it spoke on the significance of the event.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_01: Obviously, it's like so many lives were lost.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_01: But at that time, I think the way that I I I digested it emotionally, you know, as a five or six-year-old kid, like knowing kind of what he had been through and the stories that he had already told me, hearing him talk about this event, like it helped it like wow.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: It hit differently at that time, obviously in my adulthood.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_01: I understand the significance.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_01: But um so, you know, he he shared a story with me, and and there's an article somewhere we had to find.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_01: But um the the first plane hits, he's in his hotel, and he says he looks out the window and he sees smoke, and you know, he's like, What the fuck going on?
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: And the fire alarms going off in the hotel.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_01: And so he's like, What the fuck?
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_01: So he starts gathering his stuff.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_01: And I guess he was at the time, like I said, because they were kind of handling a lawsuit out there, he was pretty much staying out there.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_01: So he had, you know, all his clothes, closet, jewelry, um, I mean, so many personal belongings in this hotel.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_01: And so he's gathering everything.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_01: And within that time, the second plane hits.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_01: And so when the second plane hits, he's just like, fuck it, I'm leaving everything.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: The thing that always intrigued me is like after the first plane, I would have been the fuck out of there.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: I'm like, hold on, what the fuck you was thinking?
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know what the I don't know what he was thinking.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_01: I I I guess it would have I guess it was that much stuff in there.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_01: Like, I can't remember the off the top of my head how much money of things that were worth were in there.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_01: But uh I would have left after the first play, personally.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_01: But like I said, he done seen some shit, so he like fuck it.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_01: I ain't tripping.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I'm gonna gather my stuff and get out of here when I can't.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_01: But uh second play hits, and he tells a story of running out the room, he's in his underwear and shoes.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_01: I'm like, of course.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, this guy's six foot eight, 360 pounds, black dude, yeah, hair on his chest, tattoos and shit, running around New York and Air Force Ones and some draws.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: And draws, right?
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: In draws.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, so he tells a story of how he runs out the room, realized the elevator isn't working, uh, which I always found funny too, because it's like, Dad, what the fuck would the elevator be working?
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_01: Like, you see what's going on.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right, right.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_01: I guess he said he couldn't see, but um, so he he says, you know, he realized the elevator's not working, so he takes the stairs all the way down, he gets to the bottom.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_01: And this is always what like intrigued me, it's fucked me up.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_01: Uh, but he said, uh, you know, like my dad seen dead bodies and shit, and seen people shot to death and things like that growing up in BC.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_01: Um, but he he said, you know, he was seeing people jump out the World Trade Center and their bodies exploding on the ground like watermelons.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_01: And that like, that really like that fucked me up because I'm like, damn, like, bro, that's a that's a scary fucking type.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_01: Um, and so, you know, he he he shared with me, like, you know, he gets out, he gets out of the hotel and obviously there's people scrambling everywhere and debris falling and smoking things like that.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_01: Uh, and he says he just sees, he keeps seeing these bodies fall, you know, two or three bodies fall.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_01: And so uh, you know, he runs, runs a block away.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_01: Um, and like I said, he's in his drawers in Air Force Ones, and I guess on the way out, he grabs some cash.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_01: So he's got like$5,000 in cash in hand, and he sees a taxicab driver.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_01: Taxicab driver has people in it, and he says to the taxi cab driver, I got$5,000 in cash.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_01: I need to get the Baltimore to my kids.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_01: You need to get these motherfuckers out of your car and take me to Baltimore.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_01: And so sure enough, these people got out of the car.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_01: I think my dad gave them a few thousand.
- 1:11:15SPEAKER_01: He gave the driver the rest, and the driver drove him to Baltimore.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_01: Remember, I uh I'm chilling in my room playing probably GameCube or something with my brother, and my dad walks in the house, he's all got debris on him, and he's in his drawers and Air Force Ones in the living room.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's my 9-11 story, you could say.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_01: Um, but uh, but yeah, no, man, it's a very unfortunate event, obviously.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_01: For I'm glad that my my dad was able to make it make it out safe, safely.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_01: Um, but for the people that did lose a loved one, uh, man, I I just I couldn't imagine, you know, the the type of pain and and uh frustration that something like that event would cause.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_00: For sure, man, for sure.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_00: Uh incredible story, too, man.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_00: I say.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, uh, again, man, being from Jersey, that it's still a surreal feeling.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_00: My mom was working in the United States Post Office.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_00: And uh the way it was kind of set up was she walks out of her building, she can you can see the the Twin Towers.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_00: You can see the World Trade Center, and they saw both planes hit.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_00: I remember her getting us out of school early.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_00: I remember all of that.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_00: So it was kind of just surreal, man.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_00: But man, yeah, um, the thoughts are always with those that have lost loved ones.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_00: Um it's one of them days when they they literally the slogan is never forget.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_00: We never will forget, obviously.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_00: It's one of those that rocked us to our core for sure.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_00: Um, touching on another heavy topic, obviously, September is um men's, uh, you know, I'm sorry, not men's, but suicide prevention uh awareness month, man.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_00: I just want to um, you know, just let let people know you're not alone.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_00: You know, you are not alone.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_00: Mental health is a real thing.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_00: People go through it.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_00: It is an extremely real thing, man.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_00: And um, I always want to make mention of that, obviously.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_00: That's something that hits home for me personally.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, just just just talk to someone, talk to someone, you know, getting your feelings out there, sharing your feelings with with whether it's uh uh a friend, significant other, loved ones, you are not alone.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_00: Speak up.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_00: We all deal with uh, you know, our different challenges.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_00: We all deal with different things throughout our daily lives, different things that are going on, but it's important to speak to someone, it's important to talk to people so that way you know you're not in it alone as well.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_00: OB, if there's anything you want to touch on is regarding um, you know, mental health awareness month as well.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_01: No, man, it's important for people to know uh that they aren't alone.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_01: Uh I've found, as I've grown older, a lot of peace in being able to, you know, share things with, you know, my girlfriend or teammates.
