- 0:01Speaker 1: This is Ben and Ashley I almost famous in depth.
- 0:04Speaker 1: All right, we're back with an in depth episode with
- 0:08Speaker 1: one of, if not our favorite from this season, who
- 0:12Speaker 1: you know was released before first. Yeah, she's the first
- 0:16Speaker 1: we personally know. That's true. Yeah, it's hard not to
- 0:19Speaker 1: like somebody, get to know them. We got Jess Gerard
- 0:24Speaker 1: here with us. Jess to kick us off. We've heard
- 0:28Speaker 1: a rumor that you live in Florida. What part of
- 0:29Speaker 1: Florida are you in? Yeah, so I'm in Orlando, Florida.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Ooh nice. Do you go to Disney World and Universal
- 0:36Speaker 1: on the rag or not? I am not a Disney girl.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I actually really am not a fan of Disney. But
- 0:44Speaker 1: why please tell us more? Probably sister our big Disney fans.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So when I was like probably in the middle school,
- 0:52Speaker 1: maybe elementary school, I don't even know when they took me.
- 0:55Speaker 1: It's like scarred, Like my mom knows the story. They
- 0:57Speaker 1: took me and it was like one of the parades
- 0:59Speaker 1: and they were like jumping up and down and screaming,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and I was so embarrassed. I was like, oh and
- 1:06Speaker 1: so from then on board, I was like I won't
- 1:08Speaker 1: go back, Like my mom has sister ruined it for me.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I was like I I was like, you guys are
- 1:13Speaker 1: jumping up and down at mascots. Basically, I was like,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I can't do it. I like, can't do you feel
- 1:18Speaker 1: like this is a common like feeling from a lot
- 1:22Speaker 1: of people that live in Orlando. Um, honestly, a lot
- 1:25Speaker 1: of people that live here, they really do like they
- 1:28Speaker 1: have like annual passes. I'm a Universal girl, Like, I
- 1:31Speaker 1: love Universal. I'll go there all the time, Like it's
- 1:34Speaker 1: the roller coasters are fun, like it's you know, it's
- 1:37Speaker 1: acted you're viewing stuff. But Disney, I'm just it just
- 1:40Speaker 1: feels off me. I'm with you, Jazz Universal over Disney.
- 1:45Speaker 1: When it comes to theme parks, it's far more thrilling there.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Maybe maybe, but yeah, I don't think you can. You
- 1:54Speaker 1: can drink an epcop. I know that I've never drank
- 1:56Speaker 1: an Epcot, but I hear it's epics. Yeah, it's very fun,
- 2:00Speaker 1: you know, Jesse, I was just in Orlando a few
- 2:03Speaker 1: weeks ago playing in a golf tournament, which I talk
- 2:04Speaker 1: about now all the time because that's all I everyone
- 2:06Speaker 1: would do at Lake Nona. Yeah, very nice. It's very nice. So, Jesse,
- 2:13Speaker 1: are you from Orlando? Yes? I'm from Orlando, like born,
- 2:17Speaker 1: born and raised, born and raised in Orlando, yep. And
- 2:20Speaker 1: do you live at home still? So? Um? I was
- 2:24Speaker 1: in West Palm for the past year and then when
- 2:27Speaker 1: I got on the show, um my least was up.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So I was like, so I didn't resign it. Um,
- 2:35Speaker 1: so now I'm back. I've only been here for a
- 2:36Speaker 1: few months, but just waiting waiting for the show to
- 2:40Speaker 1: end and move in with some girls. Story of our
- 2:44Speaker 1: lives Yeah, like I'm not wasting money when I'm shooting
- 2:48Speaker 1: a show. Yeah. Yeah. Ashley and I both have done
- 2:50Speaker 1: the move back home with our parents during this stuff.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It's great, it's the best. It's nice, it's it's comfortable,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but it's also like I'm going crazy because when you
- 3:00Speaker 1: live on your own and then you come back, you're like, oh,
- 3:04Speaker 1: now I'm back, but temporary. So so tell us about
- 3:08Speaker 1: your family dynamic. Do you have any siblings? What kind
- 3:12Speaker 1: of household did you grow up in? Give us a
- 3:13Speaker 1: picture of this. Yeah, so I have an older sister.
- 3:17Speaker 1: She is six years older than me, so she just
- 3:19Speaker 1: turned thirty. And my mom and my dad are divorced.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That got divorced when I was going into high school,
- 3:27Speaker 1: so I'm a lot closer to my mom. I live
- 3:30Speaker 1: with my mom. My sister moved out when I was
- 3:33Speaker 1: like eleven or twelve, so we definitely have a really
- 3:38Speaker 1: good relationship, but very separate lives. When you're kind of
- 3:43Speaker 1: that young and your sister's gone and dating and living
- 3:46Speaker 1: with her boyfriend, you don't really see her that much.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So but I have a Puerto Rican family. I'm one
- 3:53Speaker 1: hundred percent Puerto Rican. I don't look it, and I
- 3:55Speaker 1: can't speak Spanish, but my hope. Even my sister's first
- 3:59Speaker 1: language is Spanish, so growing up she had a hard
- 4:03Speaker 1: time learning English. So when I was born, my mom
- 4:06Speaker 1: did the opposite and didn't speak as much Spanish in
- 4:09Speaker 1: the house around me, so that I just grew up
- 4:12Speaker 1: hearing more English. But if you were to meet my parents, like,
- 4:16Speaker 1: they have a strong accent, they look Spanish, they look
- 4:19Speaker 1: at your like, they look very like. We get European
- 4:21Speaker 1: a lot. Like when we go to Europe, people think
- 4:25Speaker 1: we're from there, with my family's from there. So yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 1: so your family's close, You're closer with your mom, you're
- 4:33Speaker 1: living with your mom currently, you have grown up in
- 4:38Speaker 1: the Orlando area. You went on to university. Correct. I
- 4:43Speaker 1: think I saw to Florida State. Is that correct? Okay?
- 4:48Speaker 1: And then I mean, you're not that far out of
- 4:51Speaker 1: college at this point in your life, So tell us
- 4:55Speaker 1: about the little like gap between college and the show.
- 5:00Speaker 1: What was happening? Why was the show you know, perfect
- 5:04Speaker 1: timing for you? Yes? So, um, right after college, I
- 5:08Speaker 1: moved to West Palm to go after my first job.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I was actually doing recruiting, um, which is not what
- 5:14Speaker 1: I intended on doing, but it was kind of fresh
- 5:17Speaker 1: off COVID getting a job is really hard during my
- 5:21Speaker 1: my graduation period. Um. So. I also went to South
- 5:26Speaker 1: Florida for my college boyfriend at the time, And um,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I really when I date someone, Um, I don't date
- 5:36Speaker 1: around I ever had dating apt before. I don't even
- 5:38Speaker 1: think I've even had like a like a one time date.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I think every guy I've gone a date with I
- 5:42Speaker 1: actually becomes my boyfriend, um two times. Um. So it's
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm very like intentional on my date and like if
- 5:56Speaker 1: I fall for someone, like I kind of just stick
- 5:58Speaker 1: to it, which isn't always a good trait to have honestly,
- 6:02Speaker 1: so which I've learned that now, but kind of moved
- 6:07Speaker 1: towards South Florida for him, and he didn't really want
- 6:11Speaker 1: Like I was like, you know, I want to be
- 6:13Speaker 1: married by this age, and I want to do this
- 6:15Speaker 1: and this, and like I'm gonna live with my friends
- 6:17Speaker 1: for this long and then we'll live together. And he
- 6:20Speaker 1: was very very traditional and was like that is. He
- 6:23Speaker 1: was like, I'm not getting married until I'm like thirty,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and I was like we're twenty three, Like what like what?
- 6:29Speaker 1: So we were very different people, but because I love
- 6:32Speaker 1: so hard and you know, I thought he was my person,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I stayed longer than I should have. And when we
- 6:37Speaker 1: ended up breaking up, I was a wreck and I
- 6:41Speaker 1: was just not well. And my friend signed me up
- 6:43Speaker 1: for the Bachelor. And I actually got a call on
- 6:46Speaker 1: his birthday. No way, Yeah, I swear like I'm not lying,
- 6:50Speaker 1: like on everything. I was in my best friends. I
- 6:53Speaker 1: was in my best friend's room and I was like
- 6:55Speaker 1: really upset because I was just like we weren't speaking,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and I was like, it's just so weird to have
- 7:00Speaker 1: a best friend and then you don't speak anymore. And
- 7:02Speaker 1: then I get a call and I actually decline it
- 7:05Speaker 1: because I was like, I don't know this area code.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And I got a text and I was like, we
- 7:10Speaker 1: just start screaming, Like we didn't speak for like five minutes.
- 7:12Speaker 1: You're just screaming and jumping up and down. And I
- 7:15Speaker 1: was like, you know what this is aside from God,
- 7:17Speaker 1: like even if I don't, because at the point, I
- 7:19Speaker 1: was like, there's no way I'm going on the show,
- 7:21Speaker 1: Like they're not gonna want me. So I just remember
- 7:24Speaker 1: being like, this is just my sign that there's someone
- 7:27Speaker 1: out there for me and I need to stop holding
- 7:29Speaker 1: on to something that's not meant for me. And when
- 7:33Speaker 1: I came here, so wow, that's so cool. So did
- 7:37Speaker 1: you ever watch the show beforehand? Because a friends signed
- 7:40Speaker 1: you up. Yeah, No, I have watched the show. I
- 7:44Speaker 1: watched Sprinkles here and there. But the seasons that I've
- 7:46Speaker 1: actually watched through from start to finish was Hannah be
- 7:50Speaker 1: and Peters Seated Sea. Yeah, those are really good seasons. Sorry,
- 7:56Speaker 1: I didn't want to hear guys, it's okay. You're born
- 7:58Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety nine. We are before your time. We
- 8:01Speaker 1: know it's okay. I'm hurt, that's fine. Yeah, yeah, those
- 8:09Speaker 1: are the seasons I watched the most. But I watched
- 8:12Speaker 1: Sprinkled here and there, but um, I just never really.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I know, I know that on paper I am young,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and so there was no part of me that was like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: you guys like the bachelor would accept me. So I
- 8:25Speaker 1: just didn't think that. And my friends obviously, you know,
- 8:28Speaker 1: my biggest supporters, and they were like, just do it,
- 8:30Speaker 1: like why not? And so my friends signed me up
- 8:33Speaker 1: and the rest was history. So you've you've mentioned, you know,
- 8:39Speaker 1: I don't think you're that young for this show. In fact,
- 8:41Speaker 1: I don't think you're young to find love in general.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I found my wife and met her when she was
- 8:47Speaker 1: twenty four. He had turned twenty four. Actually, so now
- 8:53Speaker 1: we're married and it's working out pretty good. But she h.
- 8:59Speaker 1: But you've mentioned a few times just about your faith.
- 9:02Speaker 1: In fact, on a previous episode that you did with us,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you mentioned that when you found out that Charity I
- 9:07Speaker 1: was going to be the bachelorette, you shared devotional with her.
- 9:11Speaker 1: That's sounds like a big piece of your life, a
- 9:13Speaker 1: big piece of what makes you you. Do you mind
- 9:16Speaker 1: expanding on that a little bit. Yeah, So in high school,
- 9:21Speaker 1: I was a youth group leader. That was pretty much
- 9:24Speaker 1: all I did. I was very dedicated to my church,
- 9:29Speaker 1: and you know, I never drank in high school. I
- 9:32Speaker 1: didn't go to really any parties, and I kind of
- 9:36Speaker 1: I think that's kind of why my personality is the
- 9:38Speaker 1: way that it is today because of that experience. So
- 9:44Speaker 1: good or bad to whoever, whatever people's opinions are. But
- 9:48Speaker 1: that was just my perspective. And you know, my faith
- 9:52Speaker 1: isn't perfect. It's rocky, and you know I questioned God
- 9:57Speaker 1: all the time, but I am a woman of faith,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and I do believe everything happens for a reason. I
- 10:02Speaker 1: believe it was God's plan for me to be here.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And you know, I do get a lot of comments
- 10:07Speaker 1: about my age, and you know, all I can say
- 10:10Speaker 1: that a is like, I don't think age means anything,
- 10:14Speaker 1: and I think it's how it's when you're ready, and
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean I am ready. I would never put myself
- 10:22Speaker 1: in this position with the amount of like hate you
- 10:26Speaker 1: can get from this experience, oriented or not. And so
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know, I'm kind of a sensitive person and I
- 10:34Speaker 1: wouldn't put myself in that position. But what I liked
- 10:37Speaker 1: about The Bachelor was, you know, because I don't really
- 10:40Speaker 1: date around, I'm terrified too, and you don't know a
- 10:43Speaker 1: man's attentions, they'll they won't be upfront with you about
- 10:47Speaker 1: it obviously when are they and with the Bachelor, like,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you know that man is ready, you know what he's
- 10:54Speaker 1: looking for, you know what he wants. So I think
- 10:56Speaker 1: with this experience, I was like, that's so refreshing to
- 11:01Speaker 1: meet someone that is ready for that, because how often
- 11:04Speaker 1: do you find a twenty six year old man that
- 11:07Speaker 1: can compidently say he wants to get engaged in a
- 11:11Speaker 1: month or two, you know. So it was definitely something
- 11:14Speaker 1: that I was very intrigued and interested in. It's interesting
- 11:19Speaker 1: you say this. I wonder if you can at all relate.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Told Ashley this before, but before I was on the Bachelorette,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I was working a job out here in Denver. I
- 11:28Speaker 1: wasn't dating, I didn't really have any friends, but I
- 11:34Speaker 1: didn't know what to do about saying yes or no
- 11:37Speaker 1: to going on the show, and so I just say
- 11:38Speaker 1: it set a simple prayer. I said, God, if this
- 11:41Speaker 1: is not meant to be close one door, my friendships
- 11:45Speaker 1: tell me not to, my family tell me not to,
- 11:48Speaker 1: or my workplace tell me not to. And all three
- 11:50Speaker 1: of them flew the door wide open, like, did not
- 11:53Speaker 1: stop me. They said, take us about a cool you
- 11:56Speaker 1: can keep your insurance, go have fun. My family's like,
- 11:58Speaker 1: this is super exciting and cool for you. My friends
- 12:00Speaker 1: are like, it'd be funny to watch you and so,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and then I find myself on the show. Did you
- 12:07Speaker 1: pray or did you consider this or did this just
- 12:12Speaker 1: seem right? As soon as they asked, oh yeah, I
- 12:17Speaker 1: struggled with with it so so much. I mean like it.
- 12:21Speaker 1: It would depend on the day you would ask me
- 12:22Speaker 1: if I was gonna do it or not. One day
- 12:24Speaker 1: I'd be like yes, when they'd be like no. Um.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I think part of that was protecting myself of rejection
- 12:30Speaker 1: if you know that if the franchise decided to go
- 12:34Speaker 1: a different direction and not include me, and I didn't
- 12:35Speaker 1: want to get my hopes up. I think the other
- 12:37Speaker 1: part was also, you know, is this God's plan for me?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Like this requires me possibly quitting my job, This requires
- 12:43Speaker 1: me not resigning a lease and coming back home. This,
- 12:47Speaker 1: you know, when I'm just starting my career. So it
- 12:50Speaker 1: was a lot of things that I was having to
- 12:52Speaker 1: really think about. And my family has never watched this
- 12:56Speaker 1: show before. My mom had no idea what this was.
- 12:59Speaker 1: When I flew from my interview, my mom was like terrified.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I was gonna like be kidnapped, and she didn't think
- 13:04Speaker 1: it was real. So I was very, very soloed independent
- 13:10Speaker 1: with figuring this out. Of course, I had my friends,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and obviously your friends are gonna they're living through you
- 13:15Speaker 1: and they want to do it. But when you have
- 13:19Speaker 1: your friends saying yes and your family saying this is
- 13:21Speaker 1: really scary for me. I had to turn to God
- 13:24Speaker 1: a lot of times to just figure out, okay, like
- 13:27Speaker 1: take out all the outside noise, what is meant for me?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Like what direction should I go? Because I'm risking so much.
- 13:34Speaker 1: But before the show, I knew I had so much
- 13:37Speaker 1: growing to do, whether it was loving myself, whether it
- 13:41Speaker 1: was speaking up more or you know, all the things
- 13:44Speaker 1: I knew I had to do that I knew I
- 13:46Speaker 1: had to, you know, put myself out there because it
- 13:49Speaker 1: takes me a while to do that. And I was
- 13:52Speaker 1: just like, what's the worst that could happen? I'm gonna
- 13:56Speaker 1: leave stronger than I was before. So they kind of
- 14:00Speaker 1: did kidnap you in a way like you kind of
- 14:02Speaker 1: just disappear for three months or two months or ever longer. There.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I was honestly, I was like, if I'm kidnapped to
- 14:09Speaker 1: like my mom was right like that you show up
- 14:15Speaker 1: live in a house so you can't talk to anybody
- 14:17Speaker 1: outside of it. Yeah, yeah, right, that's like kind of scary.
- 14:20Speaker 1: You have to make sure you say mom, dad, I'm
- 14:23Speaker 1: with the producer. They have a nice hotel room ready
- 14:27Speaker 1: for me. Jesse, you are also a believer in Taylor Swift. Yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 1: you mentioned it in your ABC bio and you have
- 14:46Speaker 1: that amazing moment when you were doing the witchcraft in
- 14:51Speaker 1: Europe about what did you say? You said things you
- 14:55Speaker 1: really love? Is that what it was? And you said
- 14:57Speaker 1: Taylor Swift? So it was Zach everything you'd want in
- 15:01Speaker 1: a Taylor Swift song. Oh you know, I think he's
- 15:08Speaker 1: everything that I wanted him to be. But I don't
- 15:12Speaker 1: think Taylor. He's Taylor Swift approved for me. Doesn't it
- 15:15Speaker 1: mean he's not Taylor Swift approved for whoever he could
- 15:18Speaker 1: be with. But for me, I think I need more
- 15:22Speaker 1: sparks flying. So ah, great, pun I was gonna say, like, like,
- 15:28Speaker 1: is he kissing in the rain and all of those
- 15:29Speaker 1: dreams from You're You're glad that you saved those moments
- 15:32Speaker 1: for another guy? Yeah, I mean the big question there
- 15:35Speaker 1: then the fall up to that would be, you know
- 15:38Speaker 1: when you heard Zach was gonna be When you're asking
- 15:40Speaker 1: me on the show, did you know Zach was going
- 15:42Speaker 1: to be the bachelor? Um? You know when I was interviewing,
- 15:47Speaker 1: I know that the talk was like it was like
- 15:50Speaker 1: between like four guys. I actually have a video or
- 15:54Speaker 1: a photo of I went to my best friend's house be.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I didn't even get my flight yet they announced. I
- 16:01Speaker 1: don't know if it was final Rose. I don't remember
- 16:03Speaker 1: how they announced it was Zach, but at that point
- 16:05Speaker 1: I still didn't know. It wasn't confirmed. And there's this
- 16:08Speaker 1: photo of me sitting on the ground looking at the
- 16:10Speaker 1: TV like waiting for Jesse to like announce who it was.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And it's so sweet because it's like, you know, before
- 16:16Speaker 1: I even knew anything. And I'm glad my friend. Every
- 16:19Speaker 1: one to have a friend that captures these like candid moments.
- 16:22Speaker 1: But so it's a sweet memory to have. But I
- 16:24Speaker 1: had no idea who it was going to be. I
- 16:26Speaker 1: was definitely hoping it was Zach, but it was never confirmed.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I feel like Charity, there was like talk here and there,
- 16:32Speaker 1: and but was Zach, Like I thought there was multiple
- 16:36Speaker 1: people that they were talking about. So I didn't know
- 16:39Speaker 1: and then literally find out it's him, and then a
- 16:42Speaker 1: day or two water I get on a flight and
- 16:43Speaker 1: I'm gone. So it was very quick and also exciting
- 16:47Speaker 1: because I was like, I don't want to sit here
- 16:50Speaker 1: and like google him and anything. I want to just
- 16:52Speaker 1: go and meet him. So did you have a backup pick?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Like it wasn't going to be Zach? Who else? Did
- 16:56Speaker 1: you want to pay? Not necessarily, I don't really go
- 17:02Speaker 1: for I know this is cliche and I feel like
- 17:06Speaker 1: everyone says this, but I don't really go. I don't
- 17:08Speaker 1: want to have like a type necessarily. It's more such
- 17:12Speaker 1: a personality and how someone makes me feel and like
- 17:15Speaker 1: I would need to be comfortable. So it was I
- 17:19Speaker 1: was hoping it was him because he had kind of
- 17:20Speaker 1: a calming, sweet presence and he is like physically someone
- 17:25Speaker 1: that I would go after, but I was open to
- 17:29Speaker 1: any other of the options for sure. Before we wrap
- 17:32Speaker 1: up with you, I know that we talked about it
- 17:34Speaker 1: during the Women Tell All episode that we had you on,
- 17:37Speaker 1: but I think we should talk about it again, just
- 17:39Speaker 1: like you know your your moment, which was you talking
- 17:44Speaker 1: to Zach about the one on one day and how
- 17:46Speaker 1: you hadn't had one and how that made you upset
- 17:48Speaker 1: and it made you feel like you couldn't open up
- 17:50Speaker 1: to him because you needed that extended period of time because,
- 17:53Speaker 1: like you told him, You're like, I get really nervous
- 17:56Speaker 1: with guys that I like, and I can relate to
- 17:58Speaker 1: that so much, Like I need so much warm up
- 18:01Speaker 1: time to really show my true self, and I think
- 18:05Speaker 1: I'm a bachelor. It was frustrating, and just like in life,
- 18:08Speaker 1: it was always frustrating for me because it was like
- 18:10Speaker 1: I get so clammed up when I would be around
- 18:14Speaker 1: a guy that I liked, But I was like, please, please,
- 18:16Speaker 1: please let him give me enough chances and enough time
- 18:19Speaker 1: for my real personality to come through. So was there
- 18:24Speaker 1: anything anything besides what we saw on TV that you
- 18:30Speaker 1: want to discuss about your relationship with Zach and just
- 18:34Speaker 1: that night? I mean, of course conversations were shortened, but
- 18:39Speaker 1: every conversation we had like he was very, very reassuring.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Leading up to our breakup, we did have a private
- 18:47Speaker 1: conversation where he did address his concerns about his hesitations
- 18:52Speaker 1: about my nerves and me not being vulnerable, and that
- 18:57Speaker 1: was when I was it was still the same kind
- 19:01Speaker 1: of misunderstanding that we had in our breakup, but it
- 19:03Speaker 1: kind of like sparks that idea and going into of
- 19:07Speaker 1: like okay, like I see where he's coming from, like
- 19:10Speaker 1: let me work on it. That Estonia which date was
- 19:13Speaker 1: very uncomfortable for me because I am Christian and I've
- 19:16Speaker 1: never practiced which craft, and you know, I kind of
- 19:20Speaker 1: looked at it as like, this is a really cool
- 19:22Speaker 1: experience to learn about the Estonian culture and you know
- 19:26Speaker 1: all that stuff. And when I was going into that
- 19:29Speaker 1: conversation with Zach, I was going to open up about
- 19:32Speaker 1: my faith and I did. I talked about me being
- 19:34Speaker 1: a Christian, and I think that's when he mentioned he
- 19:37Speaker 1: was Catholic and I was trying to get more into that,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and then it switched on over right to our conversation.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So you know, it was tough because I felt like
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was trying to be vulnerable and you know, give
- 19:49Speaker 1: him what he what we previously discussed, and so I
- 19:55Speaker 1: thought that's kind of like the biggest part that like
- 19:57Speaker 1: no one really got to see was it I was
- 19:59Speaker 1: really really trying. And that added to my confusion of
- 20:03Speaker 1: like I'm confused why this is happening. So I would
- 20:09Speaker 1: say talking about religion is definitely an intimate conversation. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 1: I thought it was so. Yeah, And you're confused because
- 20:17Speaker 1: it felt like, what, there's a disconnect, like there wasn't
- 20:20Speaker 1: an intrigue or interest back from his side. Um, not necessarily.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I didn't go into that expecting, like I didn't, you know,
- 20:29Speaker 1: even though as a Christian you should be dating someone
- 20:31Speaker 1: that is strong in their faith. Honestly, every man updated
- 20:36Speaker 1: hasn't been. But I wasn't going into that trying to
- 20:40Speaker 1: get that out of him. I just wanted him to,
- 20:43Speaker 1: you know, understand why that Witchcraft date was a little
- 20:46Speaker 1: bit weird for me, and kind of getting insight of like, oh, well,
- 20:49Speaker 1: this is why it was weird for me, let me
- 20:50Speaker 1: explain to you. And I did have a conversation with
- 20:53Speaker 1: the witch privately, and we talked about my confidence and
- 20:56Speaker 1: I was really excited to share that with him. When
- 20:58Speaker 1: the when the kindle light and out, we got to
- 21:01Speaker 1: discuss what I was talking with the witch and she
- 21:04Speaker 1: told me, you know, it might go out sometimes, but
- 21:06Speaker 1: when you ReLit, it's it's the start of a new chapter.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And I was excited to share it out with him,
- 21:12Speaker 1: you know. After we had a private conversation that about,
- 21:15Speaker 1: you know, our relationship, and I was excited to be like, well,
- 21:19Speaker 1: now there's a new chapter that we can we can
- 21:22Speaker 1: start on. And so it was. It was definitely tough
- 21:25Speaker 1: because I was trying to get there, and then the
- 21:28Speaker 1: disconnect that we had from that private conversation led into it.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So okay, So this brings up a whole other thing.
- 21:35Speaker 1: It brings up a theme. Why does Zach get so
- 21:39Speaker 1: freaked out when there's some sort of disconnect. You're always
- 21:44Speaker 1: going to disconnect with anybody, even the most perfect person
- 21:47Speaker 1: for you. You're going to have an argument where you
- 21:49Speaker 1: don't see eye toy. That doesn't mean you should just
- 21:52Speaker 1: let the person go. Do you feel like this is
- 21:54Speaker 1: a trend um? I mean yeah, it has a no.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I mean I feel like, you know, the disconnects that
- 22:05Speaker 1: he's had with other women. I don't know if he
- 22:07Speaker 1: necessarily sent him home right away because of it. I
- 22:09Speaker 1: think it added to it. I think kind of like
- 22:13Speaker 1: what I was saying before was he could have been
- 22:16Speaker 1: more sensitive, but he already knows that. That's like, if
- 22:19Speaker 1: he knew I wasn't his person, you know, why continue on?
- 22:24Speaker 1: And maybe he just wanted to get right to the point,
- 22:27Speaker 1: but I definitely he could have been more sensitive for sure.
- 22:31Speaker 1: But Jess, it's weird because then later on that night
- 22:34Speaker 1: you walk into your one on one conversation with him
- 22:36Speaker 1: and he says, I'm really confident about us. Then you
- 22:40Speaker 1: have the meat of the sandwich, and then at the end,
- 22:43Speaker 1: on the other side of the bread, he goes, I'm
- 22:45Speaker 1: not confident anymore. Goodbye. Yeah, it's it's a very strange situation.
- 22:51Speaker 1: You know. I don't think in reality I even caught
- 22:55Speaker 1: on him saying that, or else I probably would have
- 22:57Speaker 1: been like you just said that, yeah, honest. But I
- 23:01Speaker 1: think it's funny because later that episode he goes on
- 23:04Speaker 1: that one one with Ariel. Then he says, this time
- 23:06Speaker 1: together is what like I got to know you more
- 23:09Speaker 1: and like you're awesome, and it's I remember watching that
- 23:12Speaker 1: like yeah, like that like me too, and any other
- 23:15Speaker 1: woman too, Like that's what happens when you spend time
- 23:18Speaker 1: with people. You get to know them and you fall
- 23:20Speaker 1: for them or you don't. And I think for me
- 23:23Speaker 1: it was one of those things where it was like
- 23:24Speaker 1: I like I really thought me and Zach would click.
- 23:28Speaker 1: So it's like, give me that time to show you
- 23:31Speaker 1: more of me if that's what you want to see.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But when it was happening, I was like, I'm not
- 23:36Speaker 1: going to beg for you to understand my perspective if
- 23:38Speaker 1: you don't want to understand it, like that's on you,
- 23:41Speaker 1: Like I'm not gonna sit here and keep trying to
- 23:44Speaker 1: make you understand. Well, I think at that moment you
- 23:46Speaker 1: inspired a lot of girls just by saying the line
- 23:49Speaker 1: like I'm not gonna beg it for your Would you
- 23:52Speaker 1: say you're not gonna beg for your what I'm not
- 23:54Speaker 1: gonna beg for you or things? I said, yeah, And
- 23:57Speaker 1: you're just not gonna beg for him. To see what
- 24:00Speaker 1: you're trying, it's like you're just not going to fight. Yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 1: there's a different seen fighting for somebody and then like
- 24:05Speaker 1: begging for someone. So I was actually scared when I
- 24:08Speaker 1: said that because I was like, does he want me
- 24:11Speaker 1: to get back for him? Like I don't even know?
- 24:13Speaker 1: So I was like nervous, but it's why, I don't know,
- 24:16Speaker 1: It's what I felt. So well, if he did want
- 24:19Speaker 1: you to beg for him, he ain't worth it. So
- 24:22Speaker 1: you did, all right? You did? Okay, Well, you know,
- 24:27Speaker 1: for as limited amount of time as Zach took took
- 24:31Speaker 1: advantage of spending with you. We have been able to
- 24:34Speaker 1: spend a lot of time with you, and it's been
- 24:36Speaker 1: awesome to get to know you. And I think the
- 24:38Speaker 1: future is very bright for you. Again I said earlier,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I think we're going to see a lot of you
- 24:43Speaker 1: on television and it's gonna be awesome to see your
- 24:45Speaker 1: story play out. So as we sit here now, woman,
- 24:50Speaker 1: til all has aired, you don't know if you're going
- 24:54Speaker 1: to be on TV again. Your time on the Bachelor
- 24:56Speaker 1: franchise up until this point is done. Who knows what
- 24:58Speaker 1: happens in the future. What is next for you as
- 25:02Speaker 1: you sit here today, What have you learned about yourself?
- 25:04Speaker 1: What are you looking forward to in the future. What
- 25:06Speaker 1: is next for Jessica? Yes, so I am really focused
- 25:12Speaker 1: on my career right now and moving, which is what
- 25:16Speaker 1: I don't think we've mentioned it yet. What is your career? Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: so I do merchandizing, e commerce merchandizing, so working for
- 25:22Speaker 1: you know, big corporate companies and kind of like you know, buyers.
- 25:27Speaker 1: It's like a period of fashion merchandizing basically, and then
- 25:31Speaker 1: I also do marketing on the side for a small company.
- 25:34Speaker 1: So kind of just in the direction of just the
- 25:37Speaker 1: fashion industry. But I love Florida. I would love to
- 25:42Speaker 1: raise a family here, but I feel like I want
- 25:45Speaker 1: to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone.
- 25:47Speaker 1: And as of right now, my goal is to move
- 25:49Speaker 1: to California. I've only been there for this show, so
- 25:53Speaker 1: I but I've always wanted to go, and I've always
- 25:55Speaker 1: wanted to live in like a cute, little small beach town.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I don't only think Alla's my vibe, but definitely somewhere
- 26:01Speaker 1: that's just like, yeah, like a small beach town. So
- 26:05Speaker 1: that's my goal. A few of us on the show
- 26:07Speaker 1: I want to move together. Um So right now just
- 26:09Speaker 1: kind of figuring out how I can get myself there.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Um But you know, the world's might oyster. So wherever
- 26:15Speaker 1: I end up, I'm sure I'll make the most of it.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Should I do five random I would like to so
- 26:31Speaker 1: I was hoping you did. Here's here's an interview here.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I'm just I'm interested in this question mostly personally. Most
- 26:40Speaker 1: people maybe wouldn't be. But your faith is so much
- 26:43Speaker 1: of who you are. You've talked about it a lot,
- 26:45Speaker 1: You've gone into detail. You mentioned it to zach Um
- 26:48Speaker 1: coming off the show now has has what are the
- 26:52Speaker 1: big questions around around you in your relationship with God
- 26:57Speaker 1: and what this was all about? Like do you have
- 27:00Speaker 1: any questions swirling around your head? Or do you feel
- 27:02Speaker 1: pretty peace of mind about all this experience? Oh my gosh,
- 27:05Speaker 1: I always have questions. Um. You know, I think a
- 27:09Speaker 1: question I've had before and after the show is like
- 27:15Speaker 1: like do I need like should I stop going after
- 27:18Speaker 1: men that aren't a faith? Um? And also like who
- 27:23Speaker 1: am I to make that judgment if my faith is
- 27:26Speaker 1: not at its best place as it used to be. Um.
- 27:30Speaker 1: That's like one of my questions for myself that I
- 27:33Speaker 1: struggle with. UM. And I think, Um, this franchise really
- 27:40Speaker 1: really likes big personalities, and UM, I'm not gonna cry,
- 27:46Speaker 1: so I don't want to cry. Mum. I don't know
- 27:52Speaker 1: why I'm crying on a podcast. There. I've cried many
- 27:57Speaker 1: times here, You're fine, this is a space wow. Um. Anyway,
- 28:03Speaker 1: So this franchise really likes really big personalities and I
- 28:09Speaker 1: never thought that not having that would be a fault. UM.
- 28:17Speaker 1: So it's been a lot of like although like you know,
- 28:20Speaker 1: looking back on this show, I've loved myself in terms
- 28:22Speaker 1: of with like men and stuff, but like not begging,
- 28:26Speaker 1: and I'm proud of myself for that. But also there's
- 28:29Speaker 1: another take of like is there like a fault and
- 28:37Speaker 1: should there be a fault of not being a big
- 28:40Speaker 1: TV personality and does that make me not worthy enough?
- 28:43Speaker 1: So it's like it's it's been a lot, you know,
- 28:46Speaker 1: just being a girl and going in my own head
- 28:48Speaker 1: and stuff. But so that's a lot of conversations that
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'm having of just like figuring out like what I
- 28:54Speaker 1: bring to the table and like it being enough. So well,
- 28:58Speaker 1: you know, the worst thing and Eboul can do is
- 29:01Speaker 1: tell you how you should feel or tell you what's
- 29:04Speaker 1: wrong or right here. But I think if you did
- 29:07Speaker 1: watch my season back when you were probably in middle school,
- 29:13Speaker 1: you would see that you and I are very similar,
- 29:17Speaker 1: and that you would see that you and I both
- 29:20Speaker 1: were probably not made to be on TV. But here's
- 29:23Speaker 1: a piece of advice I want to share with you.
- 29:24Speaker 1: And I don't know if he's going to help her her.
- 29:25Speaker 1: There's two things that have been said to me since
- 29:27Speaker 1: my time on the show that have changed the way
- 29:30Speaker 1: I see what's next. The first is from the former
- 29:33Speaker 1: host of the show, Chris Harrison. We get off the show,
- 29:37Speaker 1: and we're sitting at a bar. If share this story
- 29:39Speaker 1: many times, long story short, We're having a glass of
- 29:41Speaker 1: whiskey and he has been what is this all about?
- 29:44Speaker 1: For you? Like, what are you gonna do with this?
- 29:46Speaker 1: You know the world is your oyster. You have just
- 29:48Speaker 1: been the Bachelor. What are you gonna do with it?
- 29:52Speaker 1: I was like, man, I don't know. I'm not made
- 29:54Speaker 1: for this right. Relevancy feels exhausting to me, and the
- 29:58Speaker 1: spotlight is at times very anxiety driven for me. I
- 30:01Speaker 1: don't know what this looks like. And he said, Okay,
- 30:04Speaker 1: here's my piece of advice. Use this thing that you
- 30:08Speaker 1: just did to enhance the life you've already had, not
- 30:11Speaker 1: change your life completely. The second piece of advice was
- 30:15Speaker 1: for my best friend, because I was asking the same
- 30:18Speaker 1: questions that you were asking yourself right now. I was
- 30:20Speaker 1: feeling very insecure about the fact that I was not
- 30:22Speaker 1: the biggest personality and that some would say I was boring,
- 30:25Speaker 1: and that some would say that, you know, I wasn't
- 30:29Speaker 1: made for this, and I wasn't. Who said, then, this
- 30:34Speaker 1: whole thing has never meant to be about you. It's
- 30:36Speaker 1: always meant to be about something bigger. It took the
- 30:40Speaker 1: pressure off and it's changed everything I do, and so
- 30:44Speaker 1: take it, leave it. I think you were made for it,
- 30:47Speaker 1: and I think there's a reason that you're on this show.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And I think the reason is for who you are,
- 30:53Speaker 1: and not for who you can become or what you're
- 30:55Speaker 1: going to change into, just for who you are, so
- 31:00Speaker 1: to get to know who you are a little bit better.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Ashley always ends this in the most fun way. Um,
- 31:07Speaker 1: oh my gosh, Jesse, you are the sweetest. You're the sweetest,
- 31:10Speaker 1: and your personality it's shown. It's shown here on these
- 31:17Speaker 1: podcasts and in your moments on the Bachelor. So I
- 31:21Speaker 1: just want you to do Sorry, it's not expecting to
- 31:25Speaker 1: tear up, but Jessica, I bet eighty five percent of
- 31:31Speaker 1: our in depths, we either cry or the guest cries
- 31:35Speaker 1: in Like, I just want you know. That's like very common.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Like it does feel better. It does not make me
- 31:40Speaker 1: feel weird. In fact, I go finally, like we're getting
- 31:42Speaker 1: some real stuff here. We're not talking about dating on TV,
- 31:45Speaker 1: like we're gonna know her. Yeah, yeah, fulfilled. It's very
- 31:49Speaker 1: fulfilling when we're like not talking about sex week. Yeah yeah, okay,
- 31:55Speaker 1: all right fun of fact time, if you had to
- 32:00Speaker 1: choose a celebrity lead to have led your season besides Zach,
- 32:06Speaker 1: what guy would you want it to be? Okay, well,
- 32:10Speaker 1: I have one guy from Bachelor Nation, but I will
- 32:12Speaker 1: take that. No, that's the next question. That's who do
- 32:17Speaker 1: you want to see in Paradise? Oh, I'll answer that
- 32:19Speaker 1: one next. Okay, so the lead, I would say, oh,
- 32:25Speaker 1: I don't know. Um, he has no celebrity crushes, but
- 32:28Speaker 1: she does have bachelor crushes. I don't think I'll say
- 32:31Speaker 1: the Bachelor one because he would never go. But I
- 32:34Speaker 1: would say maybe like, um, Harry Styles. Okay, good answer,
- 32:42Speaker 1: such an ease. Yeah, the same answer my wife would give.
- 32:46Speaker 1: It's the same answer. Jeez, he's he's hot. Right now,
- 32:50Speaker 1: there's a guy from the last no Vikings Valhalla. I
- 32:55Speaker 1: don't know his name, but he is so cute. I
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't know his name, but he's like I think he's
- 33:00Speaker 1: Scottish or something, but I'm like, he's he might be
- 33:03Speaker 1: the most handsome man. I remember I didn't know his
- 33:05Speaker 1: name because that would have been different from him. I
- 33:07Speaker 1: just finished that show, and I know exactly what you're
- 33:09Speaker 1: talking about because I point him out to my wife.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I was like, isn't that dude handsome? Like, yeah, he
- 33:15Speaker 1: knows I'm talking about that guy. Okay, okay. I feel
- 33:20Speaker 1: like you're saying that it's tyler Ce, that you would
- 33:22Speaker 1: like to see him Paradise and that you don't think
- 33:24Speaker 1: would ever come. I mean every girl would say that,
- 33:27Speaker 1: like he's he's a cutie, you know, yeah, and he
- 33:32Speaker 1: is up everything. I don't know. Maybe Okay, Well, will
- 33:37Speaker 1: you be upfront with us if you do meet so
- 33:40Speaker 1: and so in Paradise he would never go, well, I
- 33:45Speaker 1: mean really like your pick would never go you're saying
- 33:47Speaker 1: never ever go? Oh? I mean I am so excited
- 33:52Speaker 1: to meet any guy that goes to Paradise. God's good. Okay, okay, okay,
- 33:59Speaker 1: A more answer answerable question for you. What is your
- 34:03Speaker 1: favorite Taylor Swift album? Oh? Easy folklore? Oh folklore? So
- 34:08Speaker 1: you like more offbeat? I like very like you no
- 34:12Speaker 1: sweet slower songs. But my friends think I'm in my
- 34:15Speaker 1: reputation era, so that's I might be that might be
- 34:19Speaker 1: my album right now. So, I mean that moment that
- 34:22Speaker 1: you had was pretty reputation. Yeah. I feel like Taylor
- 34:25Speaker 1: Swift is very close to starting her own religion, like
- 34:28Speaker 1: the way that Ashley talks about well, I know you
- 34:32Speaker 1: also believe in Taylor Swift. Oh my gosh. The amount
- 34:35Speaker 1: of girls that have DM me over me saying Taylor
- 34:38Speaker 1: Swift Like, yeah, girls have been like I love you
- 34:41Speaker 1: because you love Taylor Swift, and I'm like, I'm glad
- 34:44Speaker 1: that's the reason. Thank you. I'm always like when people
- 34:47Speaker 1: tell me that too, I'm like, but don't we all like?
- 34:51Speaker 1: Does that make me unique? I feel it makes me
- 34:53Speaker 1: less unique because she's my favorite, Like I feel pretty basic.
- 34:56Speaker 1: But I'm if I find someone that doesn't like Taylor Swift,
- 34:59Speaker 1: I'm like, something wrong with you? But all right, to
- 35:01Speaker 1: each their own. Okay, how about this question? How do
- 35:06Speaker 1: you feel about mustard on pancakes? Would you eat them? No?
- 35:10Speaker 1: I would never them. What is your favorite food? Um?
- 35:17Speaker 1: I love seafood, So I think I'm still trying to
- 35:21Speaker 1: figure out my favorite my favorite food because you know
- 35:23Speaker 1: that trend where it's like what would you eat on
- 35:25Speaker 1: your death row? Like what would your death row meal be?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Were you picked last food? And I have I don't know.
- 35:31Speaker 1: My answer to that is different every time, but what's
- 35:33Speaker 1: always consistent is sushi. I love sushi. Love sushi too.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Prison sushi sounds really good? Yea, how it would have
- 35:43Speaker 1: crossed like an ice cream Sunday or some okay, sounds good.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Sounds good. So then when you were going through your
- 35:50Speaker 1: suitcase while you're at the mansion and while traveling, how
- 35:53Speaker 1: did you pick which dresses to wear? When Oh, gosh,
- 35:58Speaker 1: you know what, Honestly, I picked my worst every time
- 36:03Speaker 1: because I didn't think he was like. I just was.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I was believing what he was telling me. So I
- 36:08Speaker 1: was like, I'm fine. So um that was like my
- 36:13Speaker 1: biggest thing. When I came home, I was like, I
- 36:14Speaker 1: didn't get to wear my favorite dresses because I literally like, oh,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I was so thrown off. Oh, Jess, I'm more heart
- 36:21Speaker 1: heartbroken for you now I know. And it's funny because
- 36:24Speaker 1: everyone tells you wear your best first. Yeah, I feel nothing.
- 36:29Speaker 1: It's funny that you feel for her. I feel nothing.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I'm like, that makes sense. She had a good strategy.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It didn't play out. We're fine, Oh she did. She
- 36:34Speaker 1: had a great strategy with the amount of reassuring he
- 36:37Speaker 1: did with her. But yeah, you definitely go best first.
- 36:40Speaker 1: It was a funny story. So the night that I
- 36:42Speaker 1: went home a woman's intuitions everything. Then I went home.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I knew I was getting sent home. I had like
- 36:48Speaker 1: obviously I was still blindside. I know people were like,
- 36:49Speaker 1: how are you blindsided? But then you knew you were
- 36:51Speaker 1: going home. We're women, That's what happened. So I was like,
- 36:54Speaker 1: something's going to happen tonight. And I actually wore Cat's
- 36:57Speaker 1: dress and I wanted to the dress that I was
- 37:01Speaker 1: saving for a one on one and I was like, no,
- 37:04Speaker 1: but I'm gonna save that for the one on one.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I'm not gonna wear that tonight. I was like, I'll
- 37:07Speaker 1: wear your dress tonight, and I remembered like in my interview,
- 37:12Speaker 1: I was like, I want to take this off. Like
- 37:13Speaker 1: I was like I don't want to wear this dress,
- 37:15Speaker 1: Like I don't want to wear it, and like we
- 37:15Speaker 1: had to leave and they're like you have to keep
- 37:17Speaker 1: it on, like let's go, and I was like I
- 37:18Speaker 1: don't want to wear it. I was like, I'm gonna
- 37:19Speaker 1: get dumped in this dress. And then I got dumped
- 37:22Speaker 1: in the dress, and I really was like I should
- 37:25Speaker 1: a warred my one on one dress, Like damn, how
- 37:29Speaker 1: did you get it back to her? Um? You you
- 37:33Speaker 1: hand it off to a producer. Yeah, yeah, okay. My
- 37:37Speaker 1: final question is a two parter. Which of your Bachelor
- 37:41Speaker 1: castmates would you feel would best help you survive on
- 37:46Speaker 1: an island. I'm not asking you who you'd get along
- 37:48Speaker 1: with best, but who would best help you survive? Katie?
- 37:52Speaker 1: Why's that? I just well, I love her so I
- 37:57Speaker 1: would never get annoyed with her on an island a loan,
- 38:00Speaker 1: and she just I just she really just knows so much,
- 38:05Speaker 1: like she's so knowledgeable her aerial. Actually, I feel like
- 38:07Speaker 1: they both are very, very knowledgeable, and I feel like,
- 38:12Speaker 1: you know, they would know how to survive, and they
- 38:14Speaker 1: would they would know some tricks up their sleeves. I
- 38:17Speaker 1: don't know, Okay, who would flounder? Who do you definitely
- 38:21Speaker 1: not want to be because you be the one pulling
- 38:23Speaker 1: all the way. Kat Okay, Cat would agree with me too.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I think she knows that she would not. I think
- 38:33Speaker 1: she would be like freaking out and I would have
- 38:35Speaker 1: to like hit her with a coconut or something. All right, Oh,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you are the cutest. Thank you for answering all your
- 38:42Speaker 1: questions of being so vulnerable. Thank you. I appreciate it.
