  Speaker 1: So we are in Matthew the Gospel of Matthew chapter two.

  Speaker 1: To Worship Jesus. Ooh, I love me some worship. It's

  Speaker 1: actually one of my favorite parts. And I've worshiped idols,
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: I've worshiped I worshiped alcohol, I worshiped.

  Speaker 2: Drugs, and those things never loved me back.
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: Even it's close, not even close to how Jesus loves me.

  Speaker 2: With the Holy Spirit being able.

  Speaker 1: To just be able to breathe and be in harmony

  Speaker 1: and to be clarity over chaos. I remember waking up

  Speaker 1: in headache sweats. I mean, I can get into it.

  Speaker 1: And this is following Jesus in recovery episode as well.

  Speaker 1: And I have two years and two months in a
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: few days of no alcohol or no hardcore drugs, but
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: I have twenty years to make up. I promised myself
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: one thing tonight that I would not reach out to
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: somebody in particular. I'm making those promises to myself now
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: instead of to others. And when we're getting into wise
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: men come to worship Jesus because.

  Speaker 2: There is no better other person to worship. He was perfect.

  Speaker 1: There was many iconic leaders that came close, but they
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: were never perfect like Jesus was.

  Speaker 2: So let's get into it. Matthew.

  Speaker 1: Chapter two, Verse one states Jesus was born in a
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: town called Bethlehem in Judah.
• 3:16
  Speaker 2: King Herod ruled Judah at that time.
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: After Jesus was born, some wise men came to Jerusalem
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: from a country in the east verse two. When they
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: arrived there, they asked people, where is the baby who
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: has been born as the king of the Jews.
• 3:36
  Speaker 2: We saw his special star.
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: When it first appeared in the sky, so now we
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: have come here to worship him. Like these people knew
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: that there was a king that was being born that
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: was going to change the whole trajectory of the world,
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: especially as he got into his ministry, and even as
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: a baby he was worshiped.
• 4:04
  Speaker 2: Think about this, and there was a.

  Speaker 1: Big star that directed people basically right where he was at.

  Speaker 1: That's why it's so beautiful to look up in the
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: sky sometimes and see all the stars and to see
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: what's really out.

  Speaker 2: There in the galaxy.

  Speaker 1: It's so amazing what God has created, not only just
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: the Earth, but the galaxy.

  Speaker 2: Space and the lights camera action. Here we go. The

  Speaker 1: So verse three Matthew chapter two states when King heard

  Speaker 1: heard what the men said, he was very upset. All

  Speaker 1: the people in Jerusalem were afraid too. Thenhirod asked all

  Speaker 1: the leaders of the priests and the teachers of God's
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: law to.

  Speaker 2: Meet with him.

  Speaker 1: He asked them where will God's Messiah be born? They replied,

  Speaker 1: This is verse five. The Messiah will be born in
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: Bethlehem and Judah. This is what the prophet wrote about it.

  Speaker 2: Verse six.

  Speaker 1: People who live in Bethlehem, your town is a very
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: important town in Judah. A person born in your town
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: will become a ruler of my people Israel. He will
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: lead my people like shepherd who leads his sheep.

  Speaker 2: Deep.

  Speaker 1: Jesus is the leader that was born. So you can

  Speaker 1: imagine all the attention that Mary and Joseph got and.

  Speaker 2: Received by gifts and just all.

  Speaker 1: After this took place, Verse seven, then Herold Herrod secretly
• 6:20
  Speaker 1: told his wise men to come to meet with him.
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: They told him the time that the star had appeared.
• 6:27
  Speaker 2: Verse eight.
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: Herod sent the men to Betheheim. He said to them,
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: go and look everywhere for this child. When you find him,
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: come back here and tell me where he is. Then
• 6:40
  Speaker 1: I can go and worship him too. Now here's the
• 6:43
  Speaker 1: thing too, and we're gonna get into verse nine and
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: verse ten. You can also imagine how difficult this was
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: for Mary and Joseph.
• 6:54
  Speaker 2: Having.
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: A child that was put in Mary's stomach by the
• 7:03
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. You can imagine the amount of pressure, the
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: amount of caution that they had to take right with
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: people coming into worship. Were they coming to worship or
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: were they coming to steal. That's the thing that when
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: we really look back in the biblical part of it,
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit was already there in the stomach right
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: of Mary, and then it was in Jesus. So Jesus
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: was divinely protected by those that worshiped him at a
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: young age.
• 7:42
  Speaker 2: Verse nine, Verse ten.
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: After the men had heard the king, they left to
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: go to Bethlehem. They could see the same star that
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: they had seen before. They were very happy when they
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: saw the star. It moved along in front of them.

  Speaker 1: Then it stopped above the place where the child was staying.

  Speaker 2: Verse eleven. Then men went into the house and they
• 8:08
  Speaker 2: saw the child. He was with Mary, his mother.

  Speaker 1: They went down on their knees in front of the
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: child and they worshiped him. Then they opened their bags.

  Speaker 1: They took out valuable gifts, and they gave them to
• 8:20
  Speaker 1: the child. The gifts for gold, incense called frankinsense, and
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: also mirth.
• 8:29
  Speaker 2: After that, this is verse twelve.
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: In Matthew chapter two, God said to them in a dream,
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: do not go back to her Rod again. So the
• 8:40
  Speaker 1: men traveled on a different road to return to their
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: own country verse twelve. I kind of already seen this coming, right,
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: because anybody can say anything like they said that they
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: wanted to see Jesus as the baby.
• 8:57
  Speaker 2: They wanted her Rod wanted to worship.

  Speaker 1: Jesus baby Jesus, did he though, or did he want
• 9:09
  Speaker 1: to know exactly where he was located to take him out?
• 9:16
  Speaker 1: And here's the thing about being a chosen one as well.
• 9:19
  Speaker 1: The enemy knows something before you do, and not all
• 9:30
  Speaker 1: of us have gotten the same exact kind of protection
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: that Jesus got, especially if you come from an up
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: spring of people that don't necessarily follow Christ. Yeah they
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: go to church sometimes. Yeah, they believe in God and everything.
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: And they might be Roman, they might be Baptists, they
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: might be Christian, but they don't have.
• 9:53
  Speaker 2: The Holy Spirit.
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: And there's a lot of people, including myself, I believe,
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: that have gone through that this and have had to
• 10:02
  Speaker 1: go through some very tough spiritual battles as a child,
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: as a teenager, as a young adult, and you have
• 10:10
  Speaker 1: to obtain your own level of faith.
• 10:14
  Speaker 2: Let's get into it a little deeper, though.
• 10:16
  Speaker 1: Joseph takes Mary and Jesus to Egypt verse thirteen. We're
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: ten minutes ten after the men had gone away, Joseph
• 10:26
  Speaker 1: had a dream. In the dream, he saw one of
• 10:29
  Speaker 1: the Lord God's angels. The angel said to him, her
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: Rod will look for the child so that his soldiers
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: can kill him. You must get up and take the
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: child and his mother with you. Go immediately to Egypt.
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: I will tell you when you can return again. You
• 10:50
  Speaker 1: must remain there until then. You can imagine how vivid
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: this dream was to Joseph, because this had to take place,
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: because imagine if baby Jesus was killed, baby Jesus was
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: taking him, and it's just there's so many different things
• 11:08
  Speaker 1: that could have happened, and God would have had to
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: have done this again. And that's what makes this gospel
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ so magnificent that we don't take into
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: consideration all the precautions, the precautions, however you want to
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: say it that Joseph and Mary had to take and
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: not only them, the people that knew that they had
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: to protect that child, just like we protect our children
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: right from strangers. Think about this for a second. We're
• 11:51
  Speaker 1: gonna go deeper. We're gonna go deeper verse fourteen. So
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: Joseph got up and he took the child and his
• 11:58
  Speaker 1: mother with him. They start on the journey to Egypt
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: that night verse fifteen. They all remained in Egypt until
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: Hurrod died.
• 12:09
  Speaker 2: Who knows how long that was.
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: Right, this happened so that the words of the prophet
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: would become true. The Lord God had said, by his prophet,
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: I have called my son to come out of Egypt. See,
• 12:24
  Speaker 1: it doesn't really state, and we can do our research, right,
• 12:27
  Speaker 1: how long did Mary and Joseph really have to stay
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: in Egypt until Hurrod died.
• 12:35
  Speaker 2: Who knows.
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: But the thing about being divinely protected by God, he
• 12:42
  Speaker 1: will tell you just like they just like in dreams,
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: just like in visions, just like in intuition, will tell
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: you when to move.
• 12:49
  Speaker 2: They'll always show you.
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: A way out. And he must listen. We have to listen.
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: This is how we're applying these verses to our lives.

  Speaker 1: That intuition got check. It ain't off, it ain't off,

  Speaker 1: and sometimes we go against it.

  Speaker 2: Right.

  Speaker 1: We give people places, things the benefit of the doubt.
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: But it's not necessarily just about feeling uncomfortable. It's about
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: feeling uneased. It's about feeling that tug. It's a tug
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: at your gut, it's a tug at your intuition. That's
• 13:22
  Speaker 1: when it's time to leave. That's when it's time to
• 13:25
  Speaker 1: really stay. Let's get it. He Ros soldiers killed the
• 13:31
  Speaker 1: young boys in Bethlehem, and this is probably while they're
• 13:35
  Speaker 1: looking for Jesus, Jesus in Egypt, verse sixteen, and then
• 13:38
  Speaker 1: we'll close out. When the wise men did not return
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: to he Rod, he was very angry. He knew that
• 13:48
  Speaker 1: they had deceived him, so he sent his men to Bethlehem,
• 13:52
  Speaker 1: he said to He said to them, kill all the
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: young boys, and but Bethlehem, kill the boys who live
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: near there too.
• 13:58
  Speaker 2: Kill all the boys who are two years old or
• 14:02
  Speaker 2: younger than that.
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: The wise men had told he Rod how long ago
• 14:09
  Speaker 1: they had first seen the special Star. So he decided
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: to kill the baby boys of that. It's just hoping
• 14:16
  Speaker 1: that one of them was Jesus. Think about how sick
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: this world.
• 14:20
  Speaker 2: Was before Jesus came in.
• 14:24
  Speaker 1: It was dark, it was very sinful, and we still
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: live in a world where there is a lot of darkness.
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: There is a lot of light too. You have to
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: choose which side do you want to be a part of.
