Canada’s new high-speed rail project, Alto, is being sold as a nation-building investment.

But when you actually look at the map… most of the nation isn’t even included.

With a projected cost between $60 billion and $90 billion, this project connects just a handful of cities in Ontario and Quebec, while leaving the rest of Canada watching from the sidelines.

Experts are now questioning whether this is truly a national project at all, pointing out that it has a limited scope, serves a specific corridor, and is not part of a broader national transportation strategy.
