"1560 Geneva Bible Deuteronomy 1: YHWH Details His Disappointment"

Dr Naomi Wolf Reads the Geneva Bible · May 22, 2026 · 1h 43m

"The Children of Israel are still encamped on the plains outside the Promised Land. YHWH explains that He is appointing leaders from among the people for their next mission into the Promised Land, and again reflects on His intense disappointment with the people when they listened to the scouts who had made it as far as Eshkol and returned with a deliberately demoralizing message. Once more, YHWH asks His people to trust in Him and His plans, even when, in human terms, things look impossible."
