In northern Nevada, a bold new program is turning food insecurity into a health solution: Prescription Pantry links food banks with doctors, handing out “food prescriptions” to patients battling chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease. The results? A 13% drop in ER visits and fewer missed appointments—because when people get healthy groceries, they stay healthier.
