Latest / FPL Pod / S7 Ep32: FPL Pod: Chips pay off after last minute twist
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: There's been a lot happened since our last pod. We
- 0:03Speaker 1: reflect on a Bonker's build up to Double Game Week
- 0:05Speaker 1: twenty four how that's affected our chip strategy going forwards,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and Jules and Sam have a sort of heated argument
- 0:11Speaker 1: about Brentford. Hello, it's Thursday, the sixth of February. It's
- 0:20Speaker 1: an FA Cup weekend ahead of us. But what a
- 0:22Speaker 1: week it has been since we were last with you
- 0:24Speaker 1: on the FBL pod. Juliender on Sam Bonfield and myself,
- 0:27Speaker 1: Kelly Summer's back with you, and it feels like a
- 0:29Speaker 1: week ago when we sat here planning for the excitement
- 0:32Speaker 1: of Double Game Week twenty four. Twenty four hours later, Sam,
- 0:36Speaker 1: everything was kind of ripped up, not ripped up, but
- 0:38Speaker 1: just turned on its head, completely ripped in my book,
- 0:41Speaker 1: because you know, I sat here last week and said, oh,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I'm not going to play.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Any chips and I'm really worried about it, and they're no.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Not twenty four hours day I had a chip active.
- 0:49Speaker 2: And feels very different now, doesn't it. But good week
- 0:52Speaker 2: so far, but yeah, it has thrown my chip strategy
- 0:55Speaker 2: into complete disarray.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Okay, so myself and Sam ended up playing our assistant
- 0:59Speaker 1: manager on different managers. Sam went for David Moyes. I
- 1:03Speaker 1: went for honest slot Jules for the first time every
- 1:05Speaker 1: on this podcast, so I can say you did exactly
- 1:08Speaker 1: what you said you were going to do last week.
- 1:10Speaker 1: You went through with it. But that wasn't necessarily through choice.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Don't really no, because as I said, I wanted to
- 1:15Speaker 3: play the Triple Captain chip on Mosala, which I activated
- 1:19Speaker 3: very early on in the week, which is n't like me.
- 1:21Speaker 3: But I thought, imagine if I forget again or something
- 1:24Speaker 3: like that, so I played it then. I didn't even
- 1:27Speaker 3: know there's been an announcement. It's only when when we
- 1:29Speaker 3: put in our WhatsApp group that's something happened.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I was like, what what happened?
- 1:32Speaker 3: I didn't even know, so you you and Sam explained it.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I was like, damn, I've pled the Triple Captain. I
- 1:37Speaker 3: want to play the Assistant Manager chip now and I can't.
- 1:40Speaker 3: And Sam taught me something new and every day it
- 1:43Speaker 3: was cool there. I guess I didn't know that the
- 1:45Speaker 3: Triple Captain and the bench Boost is the same. You
- 1:48Speaker 3: could activate it and disactivated as long as it's before
- 1:51Speaker 3: the deadline. So I was like, oh, brilliant, thank you. Sam,
- 1:54Speaker 3: this is going news. Now I can play my assistant
- 1:57Speaker 3: manager Chip, except that I couldn't because then I realized
- 2:00Speaker 3: that had literally Zeroon finds zero million in the bank,
- 2:03Speaker 3: leads all my money is gone. You know, Christmas had
- 2:05Speaker 3: been there. I had one of the kid's birthday party.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I had no money. I don't I could not even
- 2:10Speaker 3: sign my dad if I wanted to, so Indian and
- 2:13Speaker 3: I went back to Mosala. I'm my best friend triple
- 2:15Speaker 3: captain him and actually he did really well.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it did do really well.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And as it stands, jewels on one hundred and one,
- 2:20Speaker 1: but with a minus four, so I'm not putting you
- 2:22Speaker 1: in the one hundred club.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You're on ninety seven.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Well, no, I also am on ninety four, but I
- 2:26Speaker 1: took a minus four, so I consider myself to be
- 2:28Speaker 1: on ninety. Sam, on the other hand, one hundred points,
- 2:32Speaker 1: no hits, So David Moy's assistant manager. That's gone pretty
- 2:36Speaker 1: well for you. How's the rest of your game week gone?
- 2:37Speaker 4: Well?
- 2:37Speaker 1: I mean, one hundred points tells us it's gone well.
- 2:39Speaker 2: But just talk us through it, Okas it has gone
- 2:41Speaker 2: well except for the benching of a langa which is
- 2:44Speaker 2: haunting me and Will continue to haunt me until this
- 2:47Speaker 2: game week ends, which I've got another week until that happens.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So every time I logain to the app and I
- 2:52Speaker 2: see him sat there on my bench, it's so point.
- 2:55Speaker 2: How many joels please do we have to do? We
- 2:58Speaker 2: have to do this and.
- 2:59Speaker 3: More than fifty around fifteen, which.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I know right it's my lucky number as well, which
- 3:09Speaker 2: is really annoying. But yeah, I think I made the
- 3:11Speaker 2: decision quite late because I just I had him playing
- 3:14Speaker 2: all week and then thought I can't bench Morgan after
- 3:16Speaker 2: his hat trick in the Champions League. But I should have
- 3:18Speaker 2: remembered that Aston better normally not great in the league
- 3:21Speaker 2: straight after the Champions League. But anyway, benched and Anger.
- 3:24Speaker 2: But other than that, it was a decent week. So
- 3:26Speaker 2: returns for Trent and Salah, a nice monster hal for
- 3:29Speaker 2: Chris Wood, who I know, did you sell him Jews?
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:33Speaker 4: But the wig.
- 3:36Speaker 3: For something for Gap I think, yeah, But I like
- 3:42Speaker 3: there was nothing I could do yet I saw him
- 3:44Speaker 3: scoring hadrick and I was like, oh, yeah, of course
- 3:46Speaker 3: as soon as I said him it's because another hat
- 3:47Speaker 3: trick or a hat trick or something like that. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 3: but you know, scored two go go penalties, so it
- 3:53Speaker 3: was not too bad India and you could have been
- 3:54Speaker 3: far away.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I have I had Mateta and Wood
- 3:57Speaker 2: and then and they're the two that have kind of
- 3:58Speaker 2: really boosted my game week up this, so plenty of
- 4:01Speaker 2: opportunities to steal go Obviously, I've got my three Liverpool
- 4:03Speaker 2: assets if Trent makes it for the game against Everton
- 4:07Speaker 2: next week and then David Moy's I decided in the
- 4:11Speaker 2: end with the possibility that if Arsenal had turned it
- 4:13Speaker 2: around in the league up, that I wouldn't swap Raya
- 4:16Speaker 2: for Pickford just in case then Arsenal had a double
- 4:18Speaker 2: n twenty five. Now, as it happens after last night,
- 4:21Speaker 2: I should have done that switch. But it's fine Raya.
- 4:25Speaker 2: At least you know he picked up three, which is
- 4:27Speaker 2: not as many as Pickford were, particularly when he got
- 4:29Speaker 2: that assist early on. I was like, oh, man, why
- 4:31Speaker 2: didn't I do that? Was so annoying. But I also
- 4:35Speaker 2: knew that I wanted to move my assistant managership off
- 4:38Speaker 2: David Moyes at the end of this game week, so
- 4:41Speaker 2: I needed to save a transfer in order to be
- 4:43Speaker 2: able to do that.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Sam come off the Raya hype train. Honestly, it's so
- 4:47Speaker 1: much less stressful nine you've got just that little bit
- 4:49Speaker 1: less invested in a goalkeeper. Don't get me wrong, In
- 4:51Speaker 1: a few weeks I'm going to be cursing the fact
- 4:53Speaker 1: that I've got Jordan Pickford.
- 4:54Speaker 2: But it just feels best.
- 4:56Speaker 1: To now I don't have a premium because when you've
- 4:58Speaker 1: got a premium there's such press sure almost if they
- 5:01Speaker 1: don't return, you're like, oh, why have I spent that money?
- 5:02Speaker 1: That money could have gone on upgrading a midfielder. It's
- 5:05Speaker 1: a nice feeling, do it? Are you're going to still have?
- 5:07Speaker 1: You still got plans to well?
- 5:08Speaker 2: The problem is, so I didn't make a transfer last
- 5:10Speaker 2: week on the basis that I needed one to move
- 5:12Speaker 2: Moise this week to whoever whichever manager is doubling. So
- 5:16Speaker 2: I'm hoping that Spares made the cut final and I
- 5:19Speaker 2: can go to Pasta Cogley. That's the plan. But obviously
- 5:22Speaker 2: if they don't then it will be Emery and Villa
- 5:24Speaker 2: that I go to instead for their double game week
- 5:27Speaker 2: if it's Liverpool in the final, so I needed to
- 5:29Speaker 2: transfer for that. I'm so uninvested in Bournemouth that it's
- 5:35Speaker 2: actually ridiculous given the fixtures they have coming on, so
- 5:37Speaker 2: I have to prioritize some Bournemouth transfers. So Ray is
- 5:41Speaker 2: just going to keep getting stays of execution, I think.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah. To be fair, I've kind of I've had Kirkis
- 5:45Speaker 1: for a while and I bought in Cliver last week
- 5:48Speaker 1: just as a bit of a makeweight for Anthony Gordon
- 5:50Speaker 1: to kind of enable me to sort out the rest
- 5:52Speaker 1: of my team or particularly the forward line, to be honest,
- 5:55Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm pretty happy with my team and it
- 5:58Speaker 1: feels like my team feels like it's quite nicely for
- 6:00Speaker 1: the next few weeks, and I went with something it's
- 6:02Speaker 1: interesting actually, just a quick word on the assistant manager
- 6:04Speaker 1: you went with Moys. Is that literally because you were
- 6:06Speaker 1: already trebled on Liverpool and the table bonus existed.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So yeah, I was trebled on Liverpool and I didn't
- 6:12Speaker 2: want to sell one of them. I just felt that
- 6:14Speaker 2: that could easily backfire.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And it was bond because there was a lot of people,
- 6:17Speaker 1: a lot of other content creators and a lot of
- 6:19Speaker 1: people saying that they were going to sell a Liverpool
- 6:21Speaker 1: ass I saw people that were selling das I do
- 6:24Speaker 1: understand with Dias a little bit.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I think Gakpo is a bit bolder.
- 6:27Speaker 1: But it seemed it seemed mad to do it for
- 6:29Speaker 1: a points here as well, which is what people were doing.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Lots of people were and I think in part that
- 6:34Speaker 2: was because I think most people are expecting, potentially that
- 6:37Speaker 2: it's a Liverpool Newcastle final in the League Cup, and
- 6:40Speaker 2: therefore you could get four games out of slot in
- 6:42Speaker 2: two weeks without taking without making a change to your manager.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Whereas for me, I was like, well, I'm trebled on Liverpool.
- 6:49Speaker 2: If they end up with a double game week again
- 6:51Speaker 2: in twenty five, then I've still got those three players
- 6:53Speaker 2: doubling again in game week twenty five, so it's not
- 6:56Speaker 2: like I'm at a disadvantage from that perspective. The only
- 6:59Speaker 2: negative is that I'll have to move the assistant manager,
- 7:01Speaker 2: Chip Off Moyse if I want to target the second double,
- 7:04Speaker 2: and I just I knew if I sold a Liverpool
- 7:06Speaker 2: asset it would massively backfire on me. It just felt
- 7:09Speaker 2: like such a sideways thing to do, so it wasn't
- 7:11Speaker 2: something I was ever going to do. Had I had
- 7:14Speaker 2: the free slot, I think I would have still gone
- 7:15Speaker 2: for Moys to be honest, because you've got that ability
- 7:18Speaker 2: for huge upside, like it only takes a draw in
- 7:21Speaker 2: the Merseyside Derby next week and moys is absolutely hauling.
- 7:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I think I would have still gone with
- 7:29Speaker 2: him anyway, to be honest, even knowing that I'm going
- 7:32Speaker 2: to have to move it and I'm probably gonna end
- 7:33Speaker 2: up owning three managers over the course of the next
- 7:35Speaker 2: three weeks.
- 7:36Speaker 1: For me was obviously, when we spoke on the pod
- 7:39Speaker 1: last week, I hadn't brought in my third Liverpool planer
- 7:41Speaker 1: and that actually paid off in a way because it
- 7:43Speaker 1: gave me the flexibility to go with Slot or with
- 7:46Speaker 1: Moyes the whole way through with this assistant manager, I've said,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I want to play it for the table bonus. So
- 7:50Speaker 1: I do look on a little bit enviously, and I
- 7:52Speaker 1: am quite scared of you and Everton potentially getting a
- 7:55Speaker 1: drawer in that Merseyside Derby. But for me, because I
- 7:58Speaker 1: couldn't quite get to Gakpo or another Liverpool player that
- 8:00Speaker 1: I wanted, it was go with Moy's and just two
- 8:03Speaker 1: Liverpool players, or go with.
- 8:07Speaker 3: We no go.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, why can I not explain, no, no, no,
- 8:13Speaker 1: But Jewels, I still would have gone with Moys. It
- 8:14Speaker 1: would have been Mois and Liverpool players. I wouldn't have
- 8:16Speaker 1: been tripped. Yeah, I confuse myself, but I understand why
- 8:18Speaker 1: you were going. Yeah, I would have ended up with
- 8:20Speaker 1: Moys and two liverpoolayers. I wouldn't have been trebled on Liverpool.
- 8:23Speaker 1: This was the only way I could treble on Liverpool
- 8:25Speaker 1: as such. And then I brought in and I knew
- 8:27Speaker 1: I wanted to bring in Pickford, so I had some
- 8:29Speaker 1: Everton cover. It just felt like if I went in
- 8:31Speaker 1: with only two Liverpool plays in the double game and
- 8:33Speaker 1: can potentially a back to back double, it would be
- 8:35Speaker 1: a bit of an oversight. So yeah, it's kind of
- 8:38Speaker 1: gone all right so far, although Moys has outscored Slot,
- 8:41Speaker 1: but then I've had picked I had Pickford as well,
- 8:43Speaker 1: so and let's not.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Forget as well that Moys is zero point five when
- 8:47Speaker 3: one point five, so there's a million difference there.
- 8:48Speaker 4: That is not easy really.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I mean, I know, I joked I had nothing in
- 8:51Speaker 3: the bank obviously, which is never good.
- 8:54Speaker 4: But some people might just have the zeropon five or one.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Your talent and planning, John, no, no, no.
- 8:59Speaker 4: No, give me that because we didn't know.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because I would have if I'd known, if we'd
- 9:04Speaker 1: all known it was coming, I think we would have
- 9:06Speaker 1: all been over the last few weeks putting some money.
- 9:09Speaker 1: We've all sat on this podcast for absolutely weeks, all
- 9:11Speaker 1: three of us jews has been A particular sickly vocal
- 9:14Speaker 1: person said I'm going to leave it to the last
- 9:15Speaker 1: few weeks. I'm going to leave it, and I love
- 9:17Speaker 1: leaving a chip to the last few weeks. So I
- 9:18Speaker 1: was going to do exactly the same. And I know
- 9:20Speaker 1: it seems mad that I've managed to avoid slot on
- 9:22Speaker 1: one point five million, but I was point one short
- 9:25Speaker 1: of the other transfers involving Gagpo getting him in, So
- 9:29Speaker 1: for me it made more sense. I couldn't get one
- 9:31Speaker 1: point five if I if I'd had one point six,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I would have gone gackpo. I know it sounds mental,
- 9:35Speaker 1: but it does make a lot of sense. I spent
- 9:37Speaker 1: a lot of time doing it.
- 9:38Speaker 2: If you don't have the Gapo transfer case, would you
- 9:40Speaker 2: have still done this sistant manager or do you tiple
- 9:42Speaker 2: Captain Seller? I would have.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I was obsessed with doing the assistant manager. For me,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I cannot see it was the right time. I could
- 9:48Speaker 1: not see a better point in the assistant manager.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I was that I didn't play, I could not play.
- 9:52Speaker 1: To me, And also like we obviously don't know we're
- 9:54Speaker 1: recording on Thursday morning. We don't know what's going to
- 9:56Speaker 1: happen between Liverpool and Spurs tonight. But if Liverpool do
- 9:59Speaker 1: get through, then I'm really, really, really happy with it
- 10:02Speaker 1: because i won't have to change, I won't have to
- 10:04Speaker 1: use a transfer.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, it was the right thing to do,
- 10:08Speaker 3: to be fair, He's just I think he must have.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Caught a lot of the managers by surprise.
- 10:13Speaker 3: And then what do you do because if you'd already
- 10:15Speaker 3: made your transfer, if you had already planned for something else,
- 10:18Speaker 3: then it's hard to turn around and do something different
- 10:20Speaker 3: just to play the asset of managership.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, if you are listening to this, guys, then
- 10:24Speaker 1: you're in a bit of a quandary and you think,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I wish I'd done this, I wish I've done that.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You're not the only one. There was no perfect solution
- 10:30Speaker 1: last week. I don't know anyone that went into the
- 10:32Speaker 1: game week thinking I'm.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Really happy with this.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Jeles was wishing he'd got his assistant manager chip On
- 10:37Speaker 1: couldn't I was wishing that I could have gone moys
- 10:39Speaker 1: and trebled up on Liverpool and made my Liverpool transfers earlier.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Sam probably didn't want the three Liverpool players that you.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Ended up with. I don't know, and I wanted Pickford
- 10:46Speaker 2: instead of and Lee didn't have any he liked Geors.
- 10:49Speaker 2: He had no money in the bank and he'd already
- 10:51Speaker 2: made a transfer because when I was rising the day before,
- 10:53Speaker 2: and so he had literally nothing and was like, I'm
- 10:56Speaker 2: not taking a minus four to take out exact players
- 10:58Speaker 2: I want. So he didn't play at all, and so
- 11:01Speaker 2: that's obviously, isn't it. Well, he'd already played his triple captain,
- 11:04Speaker 2: so he couldn't. He played that on Salo against s
- 11:06Speaker 2: Athampton a few weeks ago, which actually went well for him.
- 11:09Speaker 2: So he's gone into it with no chip and so
- 11:10Speaker 2: he was like, I'm going to tank my rank this
- 11:12Speaker 2: week because everyone else has got a chip active. So
- 11:14Speaker 2: I don't think anybody was in a position where they
- 11:17Speaker 2: were like, really like I'm one hundred percent on the
- 11:19Speaker 2: right strategy at the moment, because it was so quick
- 11:21Speaker 2: that decision making process.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and also we've still got game week twenty five
- 11:25Speaker 1: to thirty eight to play. All of these chips to
- 11:27Speaker 1: do these things, and there's and there's going to be
- 11:28Speaker 1: another double that you can capitalize on. So if you're
- 11:30Speaker 1: likely and didn't play a chip, maybe look at game
- 11:33Speaker 1: week twenty five and it's the same for you. We'll
- 11:35Speaker 1: talk about chips in just a moment, but I just
- 11:37Speaker 1: wanted to check in on the FPL Pod Mini League.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Max Little Prowd remains top ninety four points or just
- 11:42Speaker 1: like me so far this game week, Max did activate
- 11:45Speaker 1: his assistant manager Chip like me as well on Slot
- 11:47Speaker 1: and like everyone else in the top ten, captained most Salad.
- 11:50Speaker 1: If you didn't captain Mosala, wow you are bold. Max
- 11:53Speaker 1: did sell Gakpo to bring in Slot. He brought in Vissa.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I didn't know Max diad this, but that's exactly what
- 11:58Speaker 1: I did. Maybe maybe I'm a better manager than I thought.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I'm the same mugs. My partner's called Max Fi. I'm
- 12:03Speaker 2: not Max.
- 12:03Speaker 3: No.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Charlie Shepherd holds his place in second. He took a
- 12:06Speaker 1: minus four this week to bring in Cliver, something I
- 12:09Speaker 1: also did see. I'm a kindred spirit with all these
- 12:12Speaker 1: top managers, just unfortunately don't always make these just a
- 12:15Speaker 1: million Yeah, Charlie's also played the assistant manager Chip. He
- 12:19Speaker 1: gave it to Moy's Charlie Is eight points by Max.
- 12:22Speaker 1: A real battle at the top of these chips could
- 12:24Speaker 1: make all of the difference. Jake Pilowski remains third, Michael
- 12:26Speaker 1: Williams and Aaron Quan climbing into tide fourth spots. So
- 12:30Speaker 1: tight at the top. Both Jake and Aaron have triple
- 12:33Speaker 1: captain most salah are reminder the code for that mini
- 12:36Speaker 1: league is Q seven y C zero. Okay, then one
- 12:40Speaker 1: double almost done, not completely done, because of course we've
- 12:43Speaker 1: got the most side derby and then there's another double
- 12:46Speaker 1: ahead of us. That is, of course because of the
- 12:48Speaker 1: results of the League Cup semi finals, moving some of
- 12:51Speaker 1: the games that would have been played in game week
- 12:52Speaker 1: twenty nine, bringing them forward into double game week twenty five.
- 12:56Speaker 1: If Spurs be Liverpool tonight, then they're fixture with Fulham
- 12:59Speaker 1: will give those teams a game week twenty five double.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Sound looks nervous. If Little All beat Spurs, then their
- 13:04Speaker 1: fixture with aston Villa would be rescheduled into game week
- 13:07Speaker 1: twenty five, giving both of those teams a double. They
- 13:11Speaker 1: also explained that Arsenal would have their fixture with Chelsea
- 13:13Speaker 1: rescheduled if they overturned the League Cup semi final in
- 13:15Speaker 1: the second leg that of course, was played on Wednesday night.
- 13:18Speaker 1: And we now know that Newcastle and Palace will blank
- 13:21Speaker 1: in Game week twenty nine. There will not be a
- 13:23Speaker 1: double game week in twenty five out of this fixture.
- 13:26Speaker 1: We don't yet know when that fixture will be played.
- 13:28Speaker 1: To keep an eye on Fantasy dot, Premier League dot com,
- 13:30Speaker 1: all of the Premier League channels for news on that one.
- 13:34Speaker 1: We said it through our Game Week twenty four plans
- 13:36Speaker 1: into disarrangels. You've had a bit of time to digest it.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Now what does this mean for you for Game week
- 13:42Speaker 1: twenty five? Are you tempted at all to maybe use
- 13:45Speaker 1: your assistant manager? Are you still going to wait till
- 13:49Speaker 1: the end of it's?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Got no money?
- 13:50Speaker 4: Still still have money to be fair?
- 13:53Speaker 3: So I need to wait and also I need, I
- 13:55Speaker 3: need I think I need to wait and free transfers
- 13:58Speaker 3: to pylon again.
- 13:59Speaker 4: You know my free transfer that I get.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Regularly from the Premier League.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Is there any chance Sam?
- 14:05Speaker 3: I can't really remember to be fair? So forgive me
- 14:07Speaker 3: for asking, could we have back to back double game
- 14:11Speaker 3: week again later in this season? Or could we have
- 14:13Speaker 3: at least two double game week in three game weeks
- 14:16Speaker 3: like I don't know thirty four, and then.
- 14:18Speaker 2: You're trying to find the best three week block.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, because really, as we've said, the idea was
- 14:22Speaker 3: to do this one because we knew there was at
- 14:24Speaker 3: least two of the three.
- 14:27Speaker 1: So I was just wondering, desperately, wondering.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Yeah, is there thirty four and thirty six or is
- 14:33Speaker 3: it thirty three and thirty six?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Thirty three and thirty six, thirty yes and thirty four.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It's going to be the blank, So it's not likely.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I thought, like I don't think any of us were
- 14:44Speaker 2: necessarily thinking they bring these fixtures forward. But obviously the
- 14:47Speaker 2: way that Europe's gone and how well the English teams
- 14:50Speaker 2: have done qualifying for the next stages in European competitions
- 14:54Speaker 2: means that it actually does make sense for it to
- 14:56Speaker 2: be now, because you know, they didn't have to play
- 14:59Speaker 2: well the exception of City, and they didn't have to
- 15:01Speaker 2: play in the qualifiers. So yeah, I don't think it's
- 15:05Speaker 2: likely that we'll get another double but double double anyway,
- 15:08Speaker 2: but you never know. I think stranger things have happened,
- 15:11Speaker 2: and you know, the fact that that Newcastle and Palace
- 15:15Speaker 2: don't have European football might go in your favor. But
- 15:19Speaker 2: I suspect that we'll probably go into thirty three. So
- 15:23Speaker 2: it's not likely, but it's not completely impossible.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think I guess a lot of people
- 15:30Speaker 1: will be wondering that.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah, there might be more options if you wait for
- 15:35Speaker 3: a double gamewick where there's more teams doubling to play,
- 15:38Speaker 3: to play the assistant managership and have more options of
- 15:41Speaker 3: what manager you want to put it onto for the
- 15:44Speaker 3: ones who will have two games.
- 15:45Speaker 4: For example, in some game week. So I think I'll wait,
- 15:47Speaker 4: I won't play it next.
- 15:48Speaker 2: The other thing is, though, you know, we've seen that
- 15:50Speaker 2: even this week that the single game week managers have
- 15:54Speaker 2: done really well. Again, So wasn't it, Vita Pereira, if
- 15:59Speaker 2: you'd triple captain him, I think you would have got
- 16:00Speaker 2: like twenty points or something.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Not.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't, you can't travel captain manager.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I spent too much time talking about fancy my thoughts.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, and so and we've had this before
- 16:16Speaker 2: with like Ariola earlier on in the season, and we
- 16:19Speaker 2: said last week, didn't we that had you been able
- 16:20Speaker 2: to play on Pickford the week before this, you'd have
- 16:23Speaker 2: got an absolute haul out of him as well, So
- 16:26Speaker 2: I think it made sense to play it for the
- 16:27Speaker 2: double double. But it also isn't the end of the
- 16:31Speaker 2: world if you end up getting four games instead of
- 16:34Speaker 2: five games, because if it's on the right manager. Plus also,
- 16:37Speaker 2: maybe unlike with me where I now have to realistically
- 16:41Speaker 2: have to move it if I want to target the
- 16:42Speaker 2: two double game weeks, you could pick a manager where
- 16:46Speaker 2: you could get the table bonus twice back to back
- 16:48Speaker 2: and not have to move it and therefore save the transfers.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And we know you love to save a transfer, So it's.
- 16:53Speaker 4: All about planning.
- 16:54Speaker 2: You know, what are you thinking of doing some ships? Well,
- 16:59Speaker 2: obviously obviously use my triple captain and now I've used
- 17:01Speaker 2: my assistant managership, so I haven't actually got that many
- 17:04Speaker 2: now to worry about wild card benchbuch free here. So gosh,
- 17:08Speaker 2: we've got so many chips, haven't we. Yeah, you need
- 17:11Speaker 2: to hurry up and play them. You're turning into me.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I suppose you have played your triple caps and actually, well,
- 17:16Speaker 2: yeah this week, so he'll be all right because he's
- 17:18Speaker 2: got time. Like the fact that it's the fact that
- 17:21Speaker 2: this takes very much time. I was going to say,
- 17:23Speaker 2: we're going to come out of this in game week.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Game week twenty seven will be the first time I
- 17:27Speaker 2: can play another chip, that's right. And then so I've
- 17:30Speaker 2: only got eleven game weeks to play three chips.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Yeah, that's your dream, isn't it. That's absolutely dream.
- 17:35Speaker 1: You can chips give me anxiety tools.
- 17:37Speaker 2: We know that. I think in answer to your question
- 17:39Speaker 2: Cals twenty what happens tonight between Spurs and Liverpool is
- 17:44Speaker 2: going to be quite important in terms of Chip strategy
- 17:46Speaker 2: because game week twenty nine at the moment looks manageable
- 17:52Speaker 2: for me because I've got two Newcastle and planning to
- 17:55Speaker 2: sell one of them this week.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Anyway, Sam, just to reiterate in twenty nine as it's stands, Yeah,
- 18:00Speaker 1: the teams that will blank are Newcastle one of Spurs
- 18:05Speaker 1: or Liverpool, so it will be and Crystal So Crystal
- 18:08Speaker 1: Palace and Newcastle will blank because Newcastle playing in the
- 18:12Speaker 1: Big Cup final. And then it will be either Liverpool
- 18:15Speaker 1: and Aston Villa or Spurs and Fulham. So if it's
- 18:19Speaker 1: Spurs and Fulham with Newcastle and Palace, then it's quite
- 18:23Speaker 1: easy to manage because I'm going to sell a Newcastle
- 18:25Speaker 1: player this week anyway, so i'll have two from Newcastle
- 18:28Speaker 1: and Crystal Palace, one from each team. I don't have
- 18:31Speaker 1: any Spurs players weirdly, and then i'll just have one Fulham,
- 18:35Speaker 1: so i'll only have three that are blanking. So ideally
- 18:38Speaker 1: that's the same what I want like, not just from
- 18:41Speaker 1: a Spurs perspective, but from an FPL perspective. That's what
- 18:44Speaker 1: I would like, because if it's Liverpool and Aston Villa,
- 18:47Speaker 1: then I've got my three Liverpool assets plus Morgan Rogers,
- 18:50Speaker 1: and then I got four from that game two from
- 18:52Speaker 1: the other games, so then I'm at six. So that
- 18:56Speaker 1: might mean I start thinking about whether it's worth playing
- 18:59Speaker 1: the free hit in twenty nine to keep those assets.
- 19:02Speaker 1: But then in reality, I don't really want to pay
- 19:04Speaker 1: the chip there because I'm expecting the blank later to
- 19:06Speaker 1: be bigger and so therefore I want to make sure
- 19:09Speaker 1: that I can cover that one out if possible, or
- 19:11Speaker 1: in an ideal world, i'd really now I've got a
- 19:13Speaker 1: free double game week. From a CHIP perspective, i'd ideally
- 19:16Speaker 1: like to move the free hit into that because then
- 19:18Speaker 1: you can maximize the double, which playing it aggressively is
- 19:21Speaker 1: ideally what you would want. I'm really surprised that Georgs
- 19:23Speaker 1: hasn't got his notepad out and isn't sitting there making
- 19:25Speaker 1: loads of notes on this.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Look, the part is there already, and this was already
- 19:30Speaker 3: written in there. You know.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I thought you'd be taking notes on what Sam was.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Going to do.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I've written everything, I'm preparing yesterday for that.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Sam just said you just listen to that later, Kelly.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I'm writing down then.
- 19:39Speaker 1: So I'm guessing at this point, Georgy, you haven't quite
- 19:41Speaker 1: worked out your chip stretch.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I'm completely lost anyway because in the final. But then no,
- 19:48Speaker 4: I'm like, it's just too complicated.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it was almost quite a bad result for us
- 19:51Speaker 1: in terms of double game week win last night. Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: assistant manager then Sam stick or twist, I'll be twisting. Yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 1: I think you play it in a double. For the
- 20:02Speaker 1: double double, you have to then get a manager that's
- 20:05Speaker 1: got a double Like for me to go into it
- 20:07Speaker 1: with Moys against Palace doesn't make any sense.
- 20:09Speaker 3: So you said, though you can have a single game, no.
- 20:19Speaker 2: No, no table bonus. So I will be because both
- 20:23Speaker 2: teams won, didn't they that we have you kept some
- 20:25Speaker 2: money in your bank to be able to upgrade Moise. Yes,
- 20:28Speaker 2: that's good, so planning.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I spend all my money all the time anyway.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah, So the plan is either moved to Emory if
- 20:40Speaker 2: it's aston Villa doubling because I'll get the table bonus
- 20:43Speaker 2: against Liverpool again. Then I seem to like targeting table
- 20:45Speaker 2: bonuses against Liverpool, but you know that's where we are,
- 20:48Speaker 2: or move it if it's Spurs to possa coglu and table.
- 20:53Speaker 2: You are desperate for that in so many ways, so
- 20:57Speaker 2: many ways. I don't broke my dreams already if.
- 21:02Speaker 1: You were on the assistant manager because a lot of
- 21:05Speaker 1: people actually will activate it potentially for this game, yes,
- 21:08Speaker 1: I agree, or they may be moving on to another
- 21:10Speaker 1: assistant manager. Firstly, Sam, quickly, would you recommend if you
- 21:13Speaker 1: haven't activated your asistant manager, is this a good week
- 21:15Speaker 1: to do it? Another double?
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah?
- 21:17Speaker 1: Okay, Jules, if you were expecting your assistant manager, who
- 21:21Speaker 1: would be a good option outside? Would you agree with
- 21:24Speaker 1: Sam on those ones?
- 21:26Speaker 4: I think so I would have.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I would have done slot to play safe, not Moys
- 21:30Speaker 3: in this one like you like like RKS and for
- 21:35Speaker 3: twenty five I would hope that's first qualify. So I
- 21:40Speaker 3: could play on Posta Cooglo because I think Postacogloo makes
- 21:43Speaker 3: a lot of sense with his with his double in
- 21:45Speaker 3: twenty five, more really than anybody else I think. So
- 21:50Speaker 3: I think that's the right strategy if you can, if
- 21:52Speaker 3: you can afford the extra zero point five I guess
- 21:55Speaker 3: for Postal Coogloo, and then the transfer obviously.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Okay, so we've talk about the double game week twenty five.
- 22:01Speaker 1: We also talked about game week twenty nine and blank
- 22:05Speaker 1: Game Week twenty nine is what we have to call it.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 22:07Speaker 1: We have to call it that. It sounds so serious
- 22:08Speaker 1: and so scary. There are three clubs, and I only
- 22:11Speaker 1: guarantees playing twenty nine have a good fixture, but also
- 22:13Speaker 1: have on paper good fixtures in the build up to
- 22:16Speaker 1: the blank game week. These are potentially the teams that
- 22:18Speaker 1: we should be investing in, but we may not now
- 22:21Speaker 1: as we're all obsessed with the double in twenty five.
- 22:24Speaker 1: They are Bournemouth, Everton and Brentford. Now Bournemouth for me,
- 22:28Speaker 1: Jules feels an absolute no brain. I've had Kirkis for
- 22:31Speaker 1: a while, I've got Cliver. Would you recommend that managers
- 22:34Speaker 1: have to be going in with at least one Bournemouth player.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so. I think it would be very smart.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Okay, they suppose there, which is a fixture.
- 22:42Speaker 4: That you never really know exactly.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody beats them, but also they are capable of
- 22:47Speaker 3: beating anybody on their day. And there's Brighton before that,
- 22:51Speaker 3: which again you could look at it and saying, Okay,
- 22:53Speaker 3: they've been dreadful lately, but there is potential in that team.
- 22:57Speaker 3: But the rest is so good for them, so Someton
- 23:00Speaker 3: or Wolves, they would have Branford.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Ip switched West up. All of that is great.
- 23:04Speaker 3: So considering the form that they're in, because they were
- 23:06Speaker 3: even I think unlucky to lose against Liverpool, you could
- 23:10Speaker 3: go for Watara, you could go for Clover like you
- 23:12Speaker 3: did kirkerz Zabani, a defender. Maybe I would personally go
- 23:15Speaker 3: for an attacking player Semeno, who was really everybody's favorite
- 23:20Speaker 3: at the start of the season and rightly so. But yeah,
- 23:24Speaker 3: what are Clover semenial for me? Are probably more than Brooks,
- 23:28Speaker 3: or more than one of the two midfielders Adams or
- 23:31Speaker 3: or Christy. I would go for target one of those
- 23:34Speaker 3: three because I think there are there are points there
- 23:35Speaker 3: that would be picked up Bourmother?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Are interesting, aren't they?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Sam?
- 23:39Speaker 1: Because there is so many good attackers. We know they've
- 23:41Speaker 1: got so many injuries in those foward positions. Who now
- 23:44Speaker 1: being out ever, Nielson, they're big money Sigmoning being out
- 23:46Speaker 1: as well. I went for Clive last week, but it
- 23:48Speaker 1: was a difficult decision and there's a few in there,
- 23:50Speaker 1: really nice price points. Who would you say is the
- 23:52Speaker 1: best option?
- 23:53Speaker 2: I mean, I think what you've just said is absolutely
- 23:55Speaker 2: on the money. Kenny is literally who could you afford? Like,
- 23:58Speaker 2: if you've got unlimited budget and you can afford any them,
- 24:00Speaker 2: then I'd pick Cliver because he's got penalty responsibilities and
- 24:05Speaker 2: obviously that he's only won five point eight million as well.
- 24:08Speaker 2: So while we're talking about a lot of money, but what.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I think this highlights is there is a lot of
- 24:12Speaker 1: budget options, but it is only five point eight million
- 24:15Speaker 1: just to.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's five point nine. Now I think
- 24:18Speaker 2: he's yes, so extra little bit there, So yeah, you've
- 24:22Speaker 2: got him. Obviously he's a little bit more expensive than
- 24:25Speaker 2: Semono who is five point six, and you've got Ataro
- 24:27Speaker 2: who's five, So you kind of can go in at
- 24:29Speaker 2: any price point. And I think, you know, if you're
- 24:32Speaker 2: like Jewels and you need to find a bit of
- 24:33Speaker 2: money for an assistant manager at some point, then this
- 24:36Speaker 2: is potentially the club where you can just strip point
- 24:40Speaker 2: nine out of it. You don't have to have go
- 24:42Speaker 2: gone for Cliver And that point nine obviously is like
- 24:46Speaker 2: that's two different bands of assistant manager pricing right, all
- 24:50Speaker 2: three really, so I think from a from a budget perspective,
- 24:54Speaker 2: it's important. I think if you've got, if you've got
- 24:57Speaker 2: the money to spend, then I would go for Cliver
- 24:59Speaker 2: like I say he's got. He's got eleven attacking returns
- 25:02Speaker 2: since game week thirteen. That's only bettered by most Salah
- 25:05Speaker 2: of the midfielders. Now obviously a lot of them have
- 25:07Speaker 2: come from the penalty spot, but obviously some of Salders
- 25:09Speaker 2: have as well. He's had twenty nine attempts on goals
- 25:13Speaker 2: since game week thirteen. That gaming thirteen is when Bourne
- 25:15Speaker 2: has really started to pick up in terms of us
- 25:18Speaker 2: looking at them from investment perspective. That's one few of
- 25:21Speaker 2: them Altara, and it's significantly less than Semnio who's had
- 25:24Speaker 2: thirty nine of them. So in terms of goal threats,
- 25:26Speaker 2: se Menu is up there as the most threatening of
- 25:29Speaker 2: them all. But yeah, I think for me, so I'd
- 25:34Speaker 2: kind of rule out Semnu on the basis that he's
- 25:36Speaker 2: the middle price. He's just the middle priced one. So
- 25:38Speaker 2: I think if you've got the money to go point
- 25:40Speaker 2: three more, i'd go for Cliver. And if I haven't
- 25:42Speaker 2: got that money to get Cliver, I just go for
- 25:44Speaker 2: the cheaper option and go for Aatara instead.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So do you think it's the best to have those ones?
- 25:49Speaker 1: Because I was very tempted to go Watara when I
- 25:51Speaker 1: bought in Cliver because of that, And I said it
- 25:54Speaker 1: before Old Clover. It's only I mean, I think it
- 25:56Speaker 1: was five point six or five point seven when I
- 25:58Speaker 1: bought him, but I know he's not expensive. But I
- 26:01Speaker 1: was like, I could go for the five million what
- 26:02Speaker 1: but I didn't want to be blinded by the really
- 26:05Speaker 1: good performance in game Week twenty twenty three.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and there's that one guy by the way who
- 26:10Speaker 3: told put captain him on that Greg exactly what. Yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 3: And I think Semnio is the best player of the
- 26:17Speaker 3: three as a footballer, I mean overall.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 4: But Sam makes a great point.
- 26:21Speaker 3: It's like you could if you can go to Clover
- 26:24Speaker 3: simply on penalties and the form that he is on
- 26:26Speaker 3: right now, go for him. Otherwise it's probably wise to
- 26:31Speaker 3: just save more money, especially if you are thinking about
- 26:33Speaker 3: playing your assistant manager ship. At some point you go
- 26:36Speaker 3: for who really has a center forward.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I know he's not.
- 26:41Speaker 3: A center forward by but that's not his real position.
- 26:44Speaker 3: He played there because everybody else is injured. But he's
- 26:47Speaker 3: the closest to goal of the three really because he's
- 26:49Speaker 3: the most forward. So what should be having the best
- 26:54Speaker 3: chances and should be the one always in the box
- 26:56Speaker 3: trying to finish those chances more than Clover and Semnual,
- 27:00Speaker 3: who obviously start from deeper on the pitch. So yeah,
- 27:03Speaker 3: I think it's a really interesting debate to have probably
- 27:07Speaker 3: Clover still if you could afford him.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Otherwise it's definitely what.
- 27:10Speaker 2: He's also created the most chances of those three, So
- 27:13Speaker 2: in terms of creativity and likelihood of assists, there is a.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Scenario where I, because I've already got Cliver and Kirkz,
- 27:18Speaker 1: there is a scenario where I still watch mylasa. He's
- 27:20Speaker 1: currently benchwarming, he's not going to play in twenty nine.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I could potentially double up on that Bournemouth midfield. Yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 1: and go with Dango because again that saves me a
- 27:30Speaker 1: little bit of money to go elsewhere. Some which players
- 27:33Speaker 1: are you actually looking to transfer in for Bournemouth for
- 27:36Speaker 1: that twenty nine? Which one your shopping list?
- 27:38Speaker 2: So I'm going to end up with the defender and
- 27:41Speaker 2: a midfielder, so I'll probably do I'll do a Lewis
- 27:44Speaker 2: Hall this week out for well, it's either going to
- 27:47Speaker 2: be ideally Kirkaz because he's got the attacking threat. I
- 27:51Speaker 2: just need to just need to really firm up my
- 27:54Speaker 2: strategy for moving forward with the assistant manager Chip and
- 27:57Speaker 2: work out which manager I want, just to make sure
- 27:59Speaker 2: that I have the money in the bank for that.
- 28:01Speaker 2: So what happens tonight is going to be quite important.
- 28:04Speaker 2: But if I can afford him, then I'll go Curcause
- 28:06Speaker 2: at the back, and then the plan eventually would be
- 28:09Speaker 2: probably not annoyingly this week, even though they've got a
- 28:12Speaker 2: great fixture because also Morgan Rogers has a great fixture
- 28:14Speaker 2: and so does may Double, and so does Lewis Das
- 28:17Speaker 2: and may Double. But next week then I'll go for
- 28:20Speaker 2: Cliver in that midfield in replacement of one of those two.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Okay, it makes a lot of sense. The other team
- 28:26Speaker 1: that I mentioned one one of the two other teams
- 28:27Speaker 1: that I mentioned are Everton, and we've had a lot
- 28:30Speaker 1: of chat about.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Them recently, Jules.
- 28:32Speaker 1: We saw a very good performance from them last weekend
- 28:34Speaker 1: as well. Are you feeling a bit more enthused outside
- 28:38Speaker 1: of just defensive assets or because and Die is another
- 28:41Speaker 1: one that people are now looking at and they're scoring goals.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I don't want to bribe, but obviously
- 28:45Speaker 3: I will so and I was my differential.
- 28:48Speaker 4: We don't talk about that now because I won't again, you.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Haven't one yet, it hasn't finished yet.
- 28:53Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying for that for now.
- 28:56Speaker 2: You can't leave one yet.
- 28:58Speaker 4: We're halfway through fifty percent.
- 29:01Speaker 2: It's halftime.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I know, But still am I a
- 29:04Speaker 3: bit more positive? I don't think better I could do
- 29:08Speaker 3: this again and again.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Like you know, I think he's a good player. He's
- 29:11Speaker 4: a limited player. At some point.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I think a lot of people message me, by the way,
- 29:14Speaker 1: after I'd jokingly said.
- 29:20Speaker 3: It is better than this act for example, So I
- 29:22Speaker 3: don't know. I think the Pickford Mikaelenkle defensively, you can
- 29:25Speaker 3: go there. We've said that before. I think this day
- 29:28Speaker 3: they are safe. Bet they're sure to play. I think
- 29:31Speaker 3: will make this thing better defensively, even.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Better than the dish.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Attacking wise, it's a little bit more difficult, but the
- 29:38Speaker 3: core has been a bit of an FPL cult hero
- 29:40Speaker 3: and legend for many seasons for a lot of us,
- 29:43Speaker 3: and his parents Bonn and Bread obviously, which helps. But Ni,
- 29:48Speaker 3: I think, of all the attacking possibilities that you can
- 29:51Speaker 3: have from an Everton point of view, is still your best.
- 29:53Speaker 2: But Sam, where are you on Everton? I've only got
- 29:56Speaker 2: Moy's at the moment, so obviously that a lot strong.
- 30:00Speaker 2: No exactly, Mikkelenka, I think is still my preferred Everton
- 30:06Speaker 2: assa I think, or Pickford. And part of the reason
- 30:09Speaker 2: I like Mikalenko is because he's very easy to bench
- 30:11Speaker 2: in the difficult fixtures and obviously plays in twenty nine,
- 30:14Speaker 2: which is the important thing here, So you can have
- 30:15Speaker 2: him in for the west Ham game in game week
- 30:18Speaker 2: twenty nine, and then if you don't want to play
- 30:19Speaker 2: him against Brentford, say in twenty seven, because you think
- 30:22Speaker 2: Brentford are going to score, it's very easy to move
- 30:23Speaker 2: him to the bench because he's so cheap that he
- 30:25Speaker 2: fits in that fourth or fifth defender slot, so he
- 30:29Speaker 2: looks like a really nice option. If you want to
- 30:31Speaker 2: go for an end ie and you want to change
- 30:33Speaker 2: up your strategy so that maybe he's your third forward
- 30:36Speaker 2: and therefore you can invest more money in midfield, then
- 30:38Speaker 2: I also don't hate that as a strategy. But I
- 30:41Speaker 2: think because because Bournemouth are so cheap in terms of
- 30:44Speaker 2: those midfield are sorts, you probably can afford to have
- 30:47Speaker 2: three slightly more expensive attackers and therefore that would be
- 30:53Speaker 2: the priority for me. So probably I'd still be Everton defense.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Okay, we might have to review this conversation after the
- 30:59Speaker 1: Merseyside dear being next weekend, because maybe ever single score
- 31:01Speaker 1: for and I'll get a hat trick or something.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Can well all I got to get him in would
- 31:06Speaker 2: be ridiculous.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Gosh, I hope that doesn't won the game.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and what about Brentford then, because their fixtures are
- 31:16Speaker 1: west Ham, Leicester, Everton Villa Bournemouth.
- 31:19Speaker 2: They've had a slightly.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Tricky run, they've had horrendous injuries. We all sold Brian
- 31:22Speaker 1: and we're probably all now Joels wanting Brian and my
- 31:26Speaker 1: backs do we are not?
- 31:29Speaker 4: Do you know? I love Brian and Bomo.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Why not? Why would you not want him back?
- 31:34Speaker 3: I was very disappointed by the last game west Ham away.
- 31:37Speaker 3: I don't think it's an easy picture. I mean Brentford
- 31:40Speaker 3: are not good away from one and they're true are
- 31:43Speaker 3: not very.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Good at home anymore either. We saw against they played
- 31:47Speaker 4: the well.
- 31:47Speaker 3: To be fair against Spurs and Spurs we're very not
- 31:51Speaker 3: like Angeboard and we're not very good.
- 31:53Speaker 4: But they still won't, which I.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Think is is a good indictment of when maybe where
- 31:57Speaker 3: this Branford team is because they used to play well
- 32:00Speaker 3: before and one at home and now they're playing well
- 32:03Speaker 3: at home against Liverpool and they lose against person, they
- 32:06Speaker 3: lose and then away from home is a struggle.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Okay. They were better against Palace the.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Week before, so okay, the Lester fixture and maybe Everton
- 32:15Speaker 3: that home is good. After that, they've got Villa Bourne
- 32:16Speaker 3: with newcast Or, Chelsea Arsenal, Brentford Forest United. No, I
- 32:21Speaker 3: don't think it's for me. If you fancy Brandon Bomo,
- 32:25Speaker 3: go for him, Wesa all of it.
- 32:27Speaker 2: You wouldn't go near any you wouldn't go near any breath.
- 32:29Speaker 1: At the moment. No, wow, Okay, I do understand the logic,
- 32:32Speaker 1: Sam try and counter that for us.
- 32:34Speaker 2: He's got seventeen attacking returns this season, eleven of them
- 32:36Speaker 2: have come in home matches. Fourteen goals is only better
- 32:40Speaker 2: buy Salas in the league so far. He's been very
- 32:43Speaker 2: clinical in front of goal. His goal conversion rates twenty
- 32:45Speaker 2: eight point six. That's better than any other regular starting
- 32:48Speaker 2: midfielder in the game. Sala's gold conversion rates at some
- 32:51Speaker 2: context is twenty three point three. Palmers is sixteen point five.
- 32:55Speaker 2: So I think in terms of his ability to score goals,
- 33:00Speaker 2: I don't think that there's a much better option than him,
- 33:02Speaker 2: and then alongside you've got Whisa as well. Also think
- 33:06Speaker 2: he's a good investment for this fixtures only. He's one
- 33:09Speaker 2: of only nine forwards in the game to have already
- 33:10Speaker 2: registered more than one hundred points so far this season.
- 33:13Speaker 2: In the last four games he's had more shots than
- 33:14Speaker 2: Earlan Harlan, Cody gakpro E Sak. He's got eleven goals
- 33:19Speaker 2: and two assists over the course of the season so far.
- 33:21Speaker 2: I think with the fixtures that they have coming up,
- 33:24Speaker 2: Brentford make absolute sense for investment. To me the fixture
- 33:28Speaker 2: into I know that the fixture in twenty nine isn't
- 33:30Speaker 2: the best fixture given that it's against Bournemouth and they're
- 33:32Speaker 2: playing incredibly well at the moment, and I wouldn't touch
- 33:37Speaker 2: the Brentford defense, but the attack is I would. I
- 33:40Speaker 2: don't think that. I mean, Jed Spence did an absolute
- 33:43Speaker 2: job on enbo mode last week and most teams won't
- 33:46Speaker 2: do that so.
- 33:49Speaker 4: On going in these last five games in a competition,
- 33:51Speaker 4: I know, but.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I still think when you look at the underlying numbers,
- 33:54Speaker 2: he'll come good again. I would absolutely prioritize buying him.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Could you, But if maybe you couldn't get to him
- 33:59Speaker 1: or maybe with field slots, I feel at a premium,
- 34:01Speaker 1: could you cover him? Would you be tempted to cover
- 34:02Speaker 1: him off with a visa or someone like that?
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you absolutely can do that, and he's
- 34:08Speaker 2: cheaper and he takes up a forward slot. But I
- 34:10Speaker 2: think the problem most managers are going to have is
- 34:12Speaker 2: that you're likely to want to hold a sak even
- 34:15Speaker 2: with a blank. I don't think anyone's going to want
- 34:16Speaker 2: to get rid of him. If you've got Chris Wood,
- 34:18Speaker 2: you're clearly not going to sell him on the back
- 34:20Speaker 2: of the hat trick. That he's just scored. Even with
- 34:22Speaker 2: the fixtures that they have coming up. Mateta just brace
- 34:26Speaker 2: you're not going to get rid of him if you've
- 34:27Speaker 2: got him. So if you're if that's your front three,
- 34:29Speaker 2: that's going to be quite difficult to sell. If you're
- 34:31Speaker 2: front three, isn't that's if you've bought in and die
- 34:34Speaker 2: for the Everton fixture this week, then you're probably also
- 34:37Speaker 2: unlikely to want to move him on quickly because the
- 34:40Speaker 2: fixtures remain nice for them. So I guess it depends
- 34:43Speaker 2: where you are. If you've got like a problem slot
- 34:46Speaker 2: like you're say, for example, you've got jar Pedro and
- 34:48Speaker 2: you read what I had and that's why I went
- 34:50Speaker 2: to Visa. I think that makes perfect sense, and it
- 34:53Speaker 2: means you don't have to change up the midfield you
- 34:54Speaker 2: can you can do that instead, so I like that.
- 34:57Speaker 2: The thing I like about them also Whistle in particular,
- 35:00Speaker 2: is that he's cheaper, so if you don't want to
- 35:03Speaker 2: play him every week, you don't have to. So in
- 35:05Speaker 2: those games that George is saying, I'm not sure I
- 35:06Speaker 2: have a fancy that like you cant bench him, It's
- 35:09Speaker 2: not the end of the world to have to do that.
- 35:10Speaker 2: So maybe I'm a bit more hot on Brentford than.
- 35:13Speaker 4: George's going in the last five games as well.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I'm just saying, I'm not saying no, I'm just saying,
- 35:19Speaker 3: I'm just saying that they are.
- 35:20Speaker 4: They are also facts.
- 35:24Speaker 2: I thought you said you said I swear.
- 35:28Speaker 4: I thought, no, no, no, facts. I didn't like I
- 35:30Speaker 4: know all the other liing stars that I can't mention.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Did you know space, we both.
- 35:36Speaker 3: I never swear anyway, we never swear, especially not on
- 35:39Speaker 3: shure that a lot of children listen to family show exactly.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I'm just saying that, you know, we size as we
- 35:46Speaker 3: know Paris born and bred, so he's obviously very special.
- 35:49Speaker 3: But one going in five and one going in five,
- 35:51Speaker 3: I'm just not sure, even if the other and the
- 35:54Speaker 3: lining starts are good, how quickly this christchange.
- 35:56Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. It's not like in the best
- 35:58Speaker 4: of forms.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Okay, it's not of sense, and it's quite nice sometimes
- 36:01Speaker 1: well you to disagree a lot, but it's quite nice
- 36:03Speaker 1: when it happens, and it provides balance to every debate
- 36:06Speaker 1: we've got. But I'm seeing Brentford because I brought hivis. Okay,
- 36:10Speaker 1: we're going to leave the pod there this week slightly
- 36:12Speaker 1: shorter from us because of course there's no FPL deadline
- 36:14Speaker 1: this weekend. It is FA Cup fourth round weekend. We've
- 36:18Speaker 1: still got the final double game Week twenty four fixture
- 36:21Speaker 1: to be played. Of course, the Merseyside Derby is next
- 36:23Speaker 1: Wednesday night. Will be back on Thursday morning. Well, it'll
- 36:26Speaker 1: be in your ears by Thursday afternoon to look back
- 36:28Speaker 1: on that Merseyside Derby and properly preview double game Week
- 36:31Speaker 1: twenty five. We will also know by then who plays
- 36:34Speaker 1: twice in game week twenty five and who blanks in
- 36:37Speaker 1: game week twenty five, so we can continue that conversation
- 36:40Speaker 1: as well. Juels, you're off for an exciting weekend.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm going skiing in France or if any
- 36:45Speaker 3: of the listeners are in sham Money, then come and say.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Hello, yes, and don't break your leg or anything.
- 36:51Speaker 4: As you know, it could have been.
- 36:55Speaker 2: It could have been an Olympic.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Skier, but he chose to be broadcast next. And what
- 36:59Speaker 1: you do this weekend?
- 37:01Speaker 2: No, I'm not going skiing. Well, I don't even know
- 37:04Speaker 2: what I'm doing this week. Oh Lee's away, So I've
- 37:06Speaker 2: got a fun weekend with just my kiddies, which I'm
- 37:08Speaker 2: very excited about.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Okay, we'll have a brilliant weekend. I'll be here, there
- 37:10Speaker 1: and everywhere on the Fa Cup. Some of us guys
- 37:12Speaker 1: have got to work. Actually, though, Sam, I'm going to
- 37:14Speaker 1: say that sometimes looking after kids is harder than the
- 37:17Speaker 1: other work that So, yes, yeah, Jeels is just escaping
- 37:20Speaker 1: once again, and we'll have a great weekends. Jewels, Sam,
- 37:23Speaker 1: whatever you're doing at home, enjoy the Fa Cup action,
- 37:26Speaker 1: enjoy the Mersey Side derby next Wednesday, and we're back
- 37:28Speaker 1: on Thursday.
- 37:29Speaker 2: See U.
