Latest / DUH It Down / DUH Goes Dorm Daze: Part Two – Lost at Sea & Transylmania
Transcript
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Previously on Duh It Down, Todd, Vale, and Lummox welcomed actor Tony Denman back to the show.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Not sure why he agreed to return to discuss one of Hollywood's most questionable cinematic achievements, the Dorm Days trilogy.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: If you missed part one, go back and listen now because things are about to get even more ridiculous.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Tonight, Tony returns as we dive even deeper down the Dorm Days rabbit hole first.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: We take the college experience out to sea with dorm days two, a college at sea.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Because apparently the only thing more dangerous than putting these idiots in a dormitory is putting them on a cruise ship.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: And then comes the grand finale, Dorm Days Three, or as Hollywood decided to call it Transylvania.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: A movie so outrageous they apparently decided the best marketing strategy was to pretend it wasn't part of the trilogy.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Three movies, two titles that actually match, one actor brave enough to discuss all of them.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: So grab your popcorn, crack open a natty light, and join us for Duh's Dorm Days, part two.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to Duh It Down.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: So the the whole premise of the second one is you guys are on this cruise ship because you're having some kind of contest.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: You've got people put on a trying to like put on a competition for different plays or something.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Uh but on the there's always a side story, right?
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: In the first one, we had the gangster with the with the cash, the the archaeologist who's smuggling the the diamond, the giant diamond around, you know, to get to get that sold.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: And then you've got uh somehow Jasmine St.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Clair works into the whole thing where everybody on the boat is basically trying to fuck her.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: It's kind of your classic uh, you know, lost at sea college movie, you know, tale as old as time, basically.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: And there's a monkey, can't don't forget the monkey.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's right.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: And and there is a monkey who uh who steals everything, and apparently monkey bones will get you high.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: That's what they say.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Frog venom, it's the frog venom of monkeys.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: So it it turns so it starts out, and you got the of course, you got the teacher who turns out that he is also the smuggler, he's the archaeologist smuggler guy that's that's trying to uh use the the cruise to hook up with some nefarious people and sell the diamond and get all of his money.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: He hid the diamond in like this little like tiki totem pole thing that had a unique way to open the secret compartment.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: You you had to you had to take a glass dildo and shove it in the mouth of the tiki statue, which would light the eyes up and eject the diamond out of its crotch.
- 3:11unknown: Yeah.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, of course, right?
- 3:17SPEAKER_05: Of course, yeah.
- 3:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, where else are you gonna hide it?
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: It's ancient.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: And you know, who needs who needs a key, right?
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: No, you don't need a secret key or that.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: We're gonna you we're gonna use a glass dildo.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Is that that's perfect?
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: It was the first skeleton key, for sure.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: The first skeleton key, yep.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: So and then you've got I I noticed that there was a theater.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: The captain, he was a well-known actor, and I think the dean was also he's passed away recently, but I think he was he's been in a lot of things.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: The guy who played the role of the dean.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, and I think that is one great thing that these movies did, and you know, a lot of B movies or whatever, you know, National Lampoons movies.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: What they had to do is get some sort of star names in there so they could, you know, you would think that it would help with the selling of the movie or whatnot, but lots of different cameos, like for instance, Kato Kalen.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: Yes, so we all got to meet him, but we were prefaced beforehand, no questions about OJ at all.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: Basically, we just didn't even like want to talk to him.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: We were just like, Oh, nice to meet you, man.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Because of course, all we want to ask is like, what happened?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Who has the glove?
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Well, then you also had a Dr.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Joyce, this the sex therapist.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: She was on there as one of the judges.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: And you was it Isaac from the Love Boat?
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the Love Boat guy was on there.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: It was the other judge.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: So you you had you had multiple college, I guess, or you know, college groups on there.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: They were putting on their own plays, right?
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: So people were you know organizing theirs.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Your particular group was doing like a like a whodunit with the with the diamond and the with a fake diamond that just happened to be the same size as the diamond that was getting smuggled around.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: That was you know, that was quite interesting that that was that was there.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: But I really enjoyed the other group who had the three women come out and just take their tops off and say, These are my breasts, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: And that was the whole play.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: That was like this is the best play I've ever seen.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that didn't go over your head at all.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: No, uh well worth the price of admission, maybe, huh?
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Well, as as we said earlier, they they really upped the the TNA in in number two.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: And when you've got well what was the uh the name of the movie, the the adventures of Captain Bluebush and Jasmine St.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Clair, which when she was in that, you know, you need you need your star power, right?
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: So why not just get you know one of the one of the best porn stars on there?
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: And the producer of that movie, who was a friend of mine, uh became friends with and then you know was good friends with after and whatnot.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: He said they asked him, like, hey, do you want to do like a cameo in the movie?
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: And he's like, No, no.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: And they're like, Okay, well, you know, any part, what what any part, just a little part.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: And he goes, Okay, well, isn't there a flashback of a porn scene in the guy in a hot tub with Jasmine?
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: And they're like, Yeah.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: He's like, I'll take the guy in the hot tub.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, that was him?
- 6:45unknown: Yeah.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: When you're the producer of the movie, you can pick that part for you.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: And I I looked it up.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: I was gonna try to buy the adventures of Captain Blue Bush, but that movie doesn't exist, but it's actually based off an adult comic.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: But I was a little I was a little upset because I was I went on Amazon looking for the adventures of Captain Blue Bush.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: Uh, that's incredible.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Well, hey, another AI side quest for us.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: There we there we go.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: We need we need we need to make a full-length uh feature of Captain Bluebush.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, yeah.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: We we will definitely consult with you, and you can anything you need to put in there, we'll definitely get that in there.
- 7:22SPEAKER_05: Uh but that movie that movie didn't help you out too well on your uh date there.
- 7:27SPEAKER_05: Things kind of went sideways.
- 7:29unknown: Yes.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: Well, I got a lot of bad advice.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: My character was never one for reading the room or being a very clever guy, you know.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: But somehow it always kind of worked out for him.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: And he's got he was kind of the Winnie the Pooh kind of character, just like dum-dee-dum his way through everything, you know.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, you I don't know how they decided to like cast Vitaguerra with me or Numar, you know, because she yeah, I just think like that was the whole joke, like that Newmar's getting like the hottest tail, you know, out of anybody.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: You know, she was the the most popular cover girl for those really sleazy men's magazines back in the day, you know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, she was she was hot, but I was I was excited for you.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: I was excited for your character.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: I was rooting for you in this one.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: Like he he's already got the chick, and she's awesome, you know.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: She didn't have to go out and buy sausage, he didn't have to convince anybody.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: He's already starts the movie off hooked up with this chick.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: He learned a thing or two from the first one for sure.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Or or did he learn it in Vegas?
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: We'll never know.
- 8:45SPEAKER_05: We don't know.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Uh Brittany the Snake teach him a thing or two.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 8:51SPEAKER_04: Or or or did you learn from barely legal on how to make a porn?
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Wow, cross, we're like doing parallel, you know.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, Todd, you're multiversing.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Multiversing.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, don't don't multiverse, Todd.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Stay on target.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: We're only one drink in.
- 9:11unknown: Yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_05: I will say though, I I laughed.
- 9:15SPEAKER_05: That dude that was running back and forth from the play to the captain's room, you know, so he could get in line and have sex with the captain's wife or the the porn star.
- 9:29SPEAKER_05: That was pretty funny on that guy going back and forth and back and forth.
- 9:33SPEAKER_05: That had to be fun for him to play that part.
- 9:35SPEAKER_05: I I enjoyed watching that.
- 9:38SPEAKER_05: That was funny.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Well, the the one scene he did where he's under her dress hiding, and his face is in her ass.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: It's like I would have messed that scene up like a thousand times.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Okay, take number 92.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: All right, all you gotta do is get under the dress, make sure none of your body parts, oh no, his hand, you can see his hand.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Take 96.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: All right, do I need to put my face back in her ass?
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: All right, I'll try.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: You know what I would have fucked that, I would have fucked that up so many times just to reshoot that one.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's why you weren't cast.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they knew about me, right?
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he took the part.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: That was my buddy Orin Schoog.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: He ended up taking the like Patrick Renna great Hambino part because Pat didn't come back.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: So, like, yeah, like maybe three or four people didn't come back for the next one.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: I don't know why.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: People thought maybe it would hurt their career when I don't think anybody, you know, has had I don't think it it didn't hurt or help anybody's career.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: I think it just was.
- 10:43SPEAKER_04: That character Vale stole your drink.
- 10:46SPEAKER_04: Did you get catch that one?
- 10:47SPEAKER_04: The rusty remedy.
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the rusty remedy.
- 10:51SPEAKER_04: Remedy, it's a morning drink, and it has Eva Clear in it when he tries to give it to the girls and they throw it in his face.
- 10:59SPEAKER_04: So back in college, Vale would be bent behind the bar, and a rusty veil would come out, which was everything that was left, and just push it in the drink.
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: And like I said at the end of the night, at the end of the night, we didn't have much left of what people brought.
- 11:15SPEAKER_05: So there would be like mad dog there, there would be tequila, there would be scotch, and so I would just pour it on the one cup and just call it the rusty veil.
- 11:26SPEAKER_05: People drink it.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: It's a great name.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: It is a great it has some good double entendre to it.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: The rusty veil.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: You remember the girls came?
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: This is the best drink I ever had.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: What's in it?
- 11:38SPEAKER_04: I'll show you.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so that was funny.
- 11:47SPEAKER_04: I was laughing at that.
- 11:48SPEAKER_04: The rusty remedy morning drink with ever clear in it.
- 11:52SPEAKER_04: It's awesome.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, it's it's funny because it's true.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: So on the on this boat, was everything downhill?
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Because when the teacher dies and he goes and he's in the wheelchair, he spends like 15 minutes roaming the boat in his wheelchair as if everything's just going downhill.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Everything has to be pitched a little because when the water gets on it, it's got a snow.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: So plus you're hitting some waves, yeah.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: To add to the drama.
- 12:25SPEAKER_05: And they did the weekend at Bernie's montage there with him.
- 12:28SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Well, they they stole Tony's scene, they put him in the shitter.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: He was he was in the they was in the shitter with the two other guys in the middle stall.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: So that'll be the whole thing is he loses the diamond, the diamond goes all over the crew the crew the ship.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: But of course, the monkey at the end is the one who ends up with with uh what was it called?
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: Like the the hoax heart or something like that.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: It was the name of the diamond.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: He ends up with this giant diamond that everybody was was going after.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: What the in the beginning, when there's some guy chasing the the teacher, dude, was that the captain?
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Was he was he the one that was the you never saw his face, you just saw like the cloak and the gloves, and he was he the one that was chasing the captain?
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: You know, or was there another mystery to this?
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, I gotta now you've stumped me.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: You I feel like I have to rely on you guys.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: You you've seen it the most poor.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: I signed an NDA and I can't really tell.
- 13:32SPEAKER_05: That's a lie.
- 13:34SPEAKER_05: Well, how about this?
- 13:35SPEAKER_05: Okay, so when they're doing the play, and whatever the one guy really dies, or whatever, and then they you know they shut the curtains, and then you come out and you sit in the chair and you have your little sock puppet and you're you're talking.
- 13:49SPEAKER_05: Was was that scripted, or were you just imp improving it?
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: Totally.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: They said, Okay, you need to do a monologue.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: And I said, What?
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: They said, We didn't really write anything, but like we need you to just come out and do something.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: And I was like, What the fuck?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: So I like made those two puppets, and I just yeah, I was just riffing, basically.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Right, good job.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: That's I mean, it looked like you were improving, so perfect.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: Then again, same thing happened was before with that unicycle scene and and the stripper scene from the first one.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: So we'd be on the boat in the meantime, in between scenes, they'd be shooting a lot, and you know, all of the characters are throughout the movie, but there were many times where we would either maybe not work for two or three days, but we were just called to set.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: And on that ship, there was a bar uh as well, and so everyone would just hang out at the bar.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: And the producer who was in the uh bluebeard porno hot tub would sit at the bar with everybody and just buy everybody drinks, and he just wanted to hang out.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: So that particular day I had been there and probably had I was very uh dehydrated before and after, I'm sure.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: And then suddenly I get the call, hey, go to set, they're doing that, you know, your monologue scene.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: And I was like, What?
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: It's not even written.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: They pulled me into set, and yeah, I just had to kind of like wing something.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: I put that together in probably 20-30 minutes.
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: But you pulled some socks out of your laundry, I literally took out a sock sock that I was wearing and just made some puppets out of them, and then yeah.
- 15:27SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna draw some eyes on here.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: At least like the suit the sock susie from the first movie.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh yeah, the the Suzy sock.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Susie sock.
- 15:39SPEAKER_04: The uh the get your friend dies and they pull the curtains, but no one cares that he was dead.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was shocking.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Nobody liked him.
- 15:49SPEAKER_04: No one liked him.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: And then the the then the kid who the kid who actually killed him because he drugged him, he's just hanging out.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Like you would have been and anything else, you've been arrested, you'd have been you know, putting in the put in the gallows till you got back to land and the authorities could take you, but he's just hanging out, and they're like, you know, you did a pretty bad thing, but it's okay.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: You know, the rules are a little vague.
- 16:16SPEAKER_05: Todd, you would definitely be the dude that was up and doing the lights.
- 16:20SPEAKER_05: Oh with with the two bottles of alcohol up there with him.
- 16:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that would be Todd.
- 16:25SPEAKER_05: Just taping it up, going on, yeah, just duct taping the lights up when they break.
- 16:31SPEAKER_04: It was like I forget his name, like what was it, Fred or something?
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Fred, come Fred, the lights, the lights.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: Why are you yelling?
- 16:38SPEAKER_04: He's already down there when he was supposed to be up in the raptors.
- 16:42SPEAKER_04: That was funny, too.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: That would be 100% Todd.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: All right, so between between Dorm Days One and Dorm Days Two, what was your what was your favorite scene?
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: You're asking me?
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: Oh god, what was my favorite scene?
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, the first one I thought that the uh the the stripper uh, you know, the hooker scene was really good.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: I thought that was probably the most fun to play.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Just it was really funny and they shot it really well.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: The second one, God, I don't even remember what was I doing on that.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: There was a lot of time at that bar on the second one.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: What scenes I have to ask you, what scenes did you what scenes did you like?
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: You seem to have a good time at the end when you were in bed with your girlfriend.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: Well, I was trying to be gentlemanly.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: That definitely was a great scene for sure to shoot.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: When she takes the like nurse's outfit off or something, yes, yes, yeah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: No, that was you know, that was my favorite scene.
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: Okay, you got me.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: But you you you didn't get in line for the uh captain's wife?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: I didn't have to.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 18:05SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 18:07SPEAKER_05: The captain's wife at the end.
- 18:09SPEAKER_05: The one guy's like, take a number, he's I'm 29.
- 18:12SPEAKER_05: He goes, sweet.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna score after a bunch of other guys.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: It's like something like me with some butthead put it or something.
- 18:25SPEAKER_05: I like the scene too, Tony.
- 18:27SPEAKER_05: When you guys were, I guess when you were all in the room, everybody came into your room.
- 18:31SPEAKER_05: What's going on in here?
- 18:32SPEAKER_05: What are you two doing?
- 18:33SPEAKER_05: And then that dude's hanging over the top of the thing.
- 18:39SPEAKER_05: That was a funny scene, that whole thing, both up top and below.
- 18:44SPEAKER_05: They even threw in those three chicks that did the other play, and they're like, pull, pull.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: I remember there was one scene they had us do where like we get off the boat, and I think they're like we're like in this like little market, like this village market thing, and they wanted me, and it was like sand and rocks and stuff, and they wanted me to try to ride the unicycle all like down there.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: They were gonna do this scene like that.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: And I remember trying to do it, and I like hit a rock and bit it like really bad.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: And I thought that that would be pretty funny, but they never ended up putting it in the movie.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: That was pretty good, though, because I like hit this curb and I caught like air on the unicycle, and then I like fall over.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: That's when you guys went, you guys went to town, and the the two guys, two guys, was it Wang and somebody else were looking for the looking for the drugs, and the first the first drug dealers they go into that I think they try to sell them a giant block of shit.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: And they're like, no, that that doesn't look good.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: And then they went to the other place, and he that's when they sold them the monkey bones.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: That's pretty good.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: A giant block of shit.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: I feel like I've bought that a couple times in the past.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: Oh boy, yeah, it's got a very like Harold and Kumar kind of vibe to it, you know.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: Yep, yeah, again, stuff, a lot of stuff going on all at the same time.
- 20:15SPEAKER_04: You got the play going on, everyone's in it, everyone's trying to get abroad, or the two girls again, or cock blocking everything.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: So, again, a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff going on.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: And you know, I don't think that like these movies ever would have done very like better than they did, but I think it was very confusing, and any stoners that were watching these movies were probably like, what the fuck is going on?
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: It was so complicated, it was like overly complicated all the time.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: And then at the end, wow, that was a good movie.
- 20:52SPEAKER_04: There were a lot of stuff going on, yeah.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: And so there's a cliffhanger on this one, too.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: We don't do the does the monkey ride off with the diamond, never to be seen again?
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Does does somebody grab it from him and meet you back in Vegas?
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: You know what happens?
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: We'll never know, I guess.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: That NDA is pretty thick.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: So I I know at the beginning I said we were gonna discuss the dorm days trilogy with an asterisk, and that's because they're never the dorms day three wasn't really dorm's day three, it became Transylmania.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Right, and the the movie is so good that nobody streams it and you can't purchase it anywhere.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: So we have no idea what went on in that movie, and we're gonna have to rely on whatever you're allowed to disclose from your NDA to fill in the gaps for us.
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: I have seen it, and it was on Tubi last month, but I guess I don't know why they would take that off in October.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: You'd think they would leave that on just because it was Transformania, but yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: I but I have seen that one before.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 22:03SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't know if I should congratulate you or feel bad for you, but either way, congratulations.
- 22:09SPEAKER_05: I I I thought it was, you know, like all the other ones, I thought it was good.
- 22:12SPEAKER_05: I enjoyed it.
- 22:13SPEAKER_05: But I enjoy these type of movies.
- 22:14SPEAKER_05: They make me laugh.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: Well, that movie, they it was originally they started it as Dorm Days 3, but they realized that maybe because the second one did not do well.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: The first one didn't really do well, but it did enough to get a second one.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: And the second one did way worse.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: And then once they realized, well, we can't keep selling something that's doing worse and worse, so we're gonna change the movie, complete the title, but keep all the same character names and everything.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: And Transylmania actually won an award as well, but it won an award for like the least profitable movie in like like 20 years or something like that.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: It was shot for like maybe seven or eight million.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: We went on location in Romania.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: They did like eight to ten million on like marketing for this movie, they put it in theaters, but then the weekend it came out was one of the biggest snowstorms like across the US.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: I think it was like in January or some winter month, and nobody went out to see the movie.
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Like literally nobody, like nobody was going out of their house, but then nobody saw the movie.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: So they pulled it after two days, and I think it lost it basically only made like$250,000 out of like a$14 million budget.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: Oh no, yeah, you know, between the first one and the last one, we it's you know, Razzies are awards too, basically.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So what is the uh Bill?
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: You maybe you can tell us what is what's the premise of Transylmania?
- 23:51SPEAKER_05: It's been a while since I've seen it, but I will say that the the one guy, well, I know that when they when they go over the one guy, kind of like looks like the vampire that's that's there.
- 24:04SPEAKER_05: And I don't remember a lot in the middle of the movie, but there is there there still is you know some nudity in this one, a lot of antics, kind of the same stuff going on, but just a different premise because they were over there.
- 24:19SPEAKER_05: But it but it's been a while since I seen it.
- 24:21SPEAKER_05: So Tony, you have to fill us in more on it.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: It was like, you know, dorm day is like like a day, and you know, the first one was the only one that was like one day.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: Right were like over the course of like a week or a lot, a lot longer period of time.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: But then the second one was like semester at sea, and then the third one was like semester in a castle or something weird, right?
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: So it's like semester abroad, and so the same characters going to Romania to study, and they think they're gonna hook up with like hot Romanian chicks, the other guy who played the great Hambeat Orin, the guy whose butt hit the portal, you know, yeah, horny guy.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: He ends up looking exactly like some vampire that they unearth in one of these castles.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: Mistaken identity, you know, everything goes awry.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Numar again is just kind of like got some hot girlfriend that he's trying to he gets this like secret sex book.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: So I end up having like all these like sex scenes with her.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: It's called like the the Codex Eroticon or something like that, you know.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: It's what what's that book?
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: The Kama Sutra.
- 25:35SPEAKER_02: It's like a Kama Sutra, version of that, somehow, you know, and somehow they end up like killing the vampire and you know getting away.
- 25:45SPEAKER_02: But yeah, it was pretty wild, pretty ridiculous.
- 25:49SPEAKER_04: And now you're older.
- 25:50SPEAKER_04: The first one started in 2003.
- 25:53SPEAKER_04: This one's 2009, so you're six years older, too.
- 25:58SPEAKER_04: So you've seen a little bit more.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: A little bit more, but I haven't learned very much, except for the photo erotica, maybe.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: Did you take any life lessons from that book back to you in your in your real life?
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, stretch, definitely.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: Stretch.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Don't pull a hamming.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: You don't want to go down.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, drink drink enough water beforehand for sure.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: So you got you guys were on location in Romania?
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was incredible, super fun.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: And again, like it was you know, we were probably at that point like 27, 28, you know, still young, dumb, and full of college enthusiasm.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: And just a group of us in different hotels, and just you know, it was pretty cool because you'd get you know per diem and stuff.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: So on the days you're not filming, you'd get to go out and just like roam around the city.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: And one day, Jim Jimmy DeBello, the guy who plays Cliff, so he's in all three movies.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: And in the third one, he he actually like does something crazy.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: I forget.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: No, he like saves the day, becomes like a vampire hunter, but he was just a wild man in general and decided to go to like Budapest one day and was like, Yeah, I think I can get there, I'll get the train, okay.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go see like a DJ and then I'll come back.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: I don't have to film the next night.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: Well, he got stuck in Budapest, uh he lost his passport, couldn't get back, and had to like film the next day.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: And uh someone they had to send like a special like chauffeur service to go and get him from Budapest.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: Everybody was pretty upset.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: But you know, just those kind of like stupid antics that you think I can get up to when you're on location in Romania on a movie.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Well, I guess I gotta I have to keep my eyes out on on the tubi to see if it ever if it ever comes back to to avail being available.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: But I made it through dorm days one, made it through two.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: I was looking for the third one and I could not find it anywhere.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: And the other reason it didn't do very well is because so they named it Transylmania, but they put on the poster like a guy shirtless.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: New more.
- 28:21SPEAKER_04: You're on the poster.
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean it was my body, but this like six-pack, like kind of like athletic body, and he's holding you know college stuff, whatever, textbooks, uh basketball, and then he's got like uh like a stake that you would kill a vampire with, but you just see that like that like torso, and everyone thought it was a gay porn, they thought it was Transylmania, and you know, it definitely had a certain audience, but that was another reason that just I think the marketing was like completely thrown off as well.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: Todd would have watched it.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: He like he likes he likes to the I mean it had a certain audience, you know.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna watch it, of course.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well they all did see it, so I don't know why I did see it.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: He wants to watch it again.
- 29:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but it it's funny because I I remember watching dorm days two and then this movie came on right after it.
- 29:25SPEAKER_05: But see, that was that was on like dorm day dorm days two has not just on like the tube, but it's been on like stars and stuff like that.
- 29:35SPEAKER_05: Like they have those on the movie channels all the time, dorm days two.
- 29:39SPEAKER_05: You can find it all the time on there, and then but for whatever reason, I guess back when I watched it, they had dorm days two, and then right after was Transylmania.
- 29:48SPEAKER_05: So I just watched them back to back, is what happened.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: You were one of the few.
- 29:54SPEAKER_05: He was the 17th viewer.
- 29:56SPEAKER_05: You never know it.
- 29:56SPEAKER_05: That snowstorm never happened.
- 29:58SPEAKER_05: I probably would have been out at the theater watching it.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Bless your heart, Bill.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: With a with a bottle of rumplements, yeah.
- 30:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, rusty veils for everyone.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, three veils.
- 30:13SPEAKER_05: In the winter, I would have had eggnog, spiked eggnog.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: I don't think it was a Christmas movie though, this one.
- 30:22SPEAKER_02: More of a Halloween movie.
- 30:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's why I'm surprised it's not on now.
- 30:27SPEAKER_05: Just because of the name.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: Good point.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: Good point.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: Could have been like the most popul.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: You know, you could see like Halloween, the movie, and then Transylmania, you know.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Going straight from Michael Myers to uh Newmar.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: Newmar.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Your worst nightmare, Newmar.
- 30:51unknown: Yeah.
- 30:55SPEAKER_04: Oh, funny.
- 30:55SPEAKER_04: Now, did you do Barely Legal before dorm days?
- 30:59SPEAKER_04: Or yes.
- 31:02SPEAKER_04: Yes, I like Barely Legal.
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: You were in that one much more because there's only three main characters, but Dorm Days were good, but Barely Legal I liked better, I think.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think the quality of that film was a higher quality movie.
- 31:17SPEAKER_04: I still laugh at the boom thing.
- 31:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: Good, they were good though, both the Dorm Days.
- 31:29SPEAKER_04: They were I liked them.
- 31:31SPEAKER_04: Similar movies, you know, shenanigans all around, tons of people, tons of stuff going on everywhere.
- 31:39SPEAKER_04: So yeah, it's good.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Like the second one, I'm a big fan of Captain Blue Bush.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll see that AI version.
- 31:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we have to work we have to work on that.
- 31:51SPEAKER_05: What you like, Lumex, was that guy's suitcase full of porn movies.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: Did did you did you check out the titles of some of those movies?
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: So I paused it to see what to see what was in his his suitcase.
- 32:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: So he had he had Tits Ahoy, he had The Adventures of Captain Bluebush, which we've talked about.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: He had one, it was called Where's My Slut, but I I don't know if there was anything after it because the guy's hand was in the way.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: I couldn't see anything after that.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: There was Sunrise's Most Amazing Blowjobs.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: There was Hollywood Orgies, and the last one that I could make out was Anal Mania.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: So those were those were the ones I could make out that was in his briefcase.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: It was yeah.
- 32:39SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 32:40SPEAKER_05: That was like somebody's backpack, you know, little backpack thing they had and barely legal.
- 32:45SPEAKER_05: They pulled it out, burned it in.
- 32:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 32:48SPEAKER_05: That was impressive.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: There's definitely a running theme here.
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure.
- 32:55SPEAKER_02: You know, for the kids.
- 32:57SPEAKER_02: For the kids.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: It's a it's a it's a family movie.
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: It's a family movie.
- 33:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, literally, it's how you make a family movie.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: By by putting the sausage in her ass.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: Why would I put why would I pay you to eat my sausage?
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: My sausage.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: And she's offended, you know.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: The only other thing I thought they were gonna do is when they were they were hinting in the second one that the two the two girls were interested in each other, I thought that they would end up hooking up by the end of the movie, but they didn't.
- 33:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:32SPEAKER_04: The girl meets world check.
- 33:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: I thought I thought that I thought I thought that's where that was going, and you know, by at some point at the end, you know, they would they would they would make out or hook up with each other, but they didn't do that.
- 33:49SPEAKER_02: Well, you still got your you still got your opportunity to be the hot tub guy in one of these.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: We're gonna AI the shit out of that.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: So so Tony, we've got we've you know, I again appreciate you coming on.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: We we tackled the uh the dorm days trilogy here, and in season one, we talked about you know, barely legal.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: What's what's the next Tony Denman movie that we need to watch?
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Well, I think if we stay in a similar vein, sorority boys is a great movie.
- 34:25SPEAKER_02: I think that's a actually a pretty high-quality movie as well, about three guys that get kicked out of a fraternity and have to dress up as women to live in the sorority so that they can keep attending college.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: And that's got a great cast as well.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Harlan Williams, Michael Rosenbaum, Barry Watson, and a bunch of other like really talented like actors in that.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: That one's pretty good.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: Sorority boys.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Sorority boys?
- 34:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: Poor white trash is pretty good.
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: That one probably again, another great cast in that, but that one might not hold up as well.
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: I'd say sorority boys would be your next watch for the Tony Denman collection.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: Is there a sorority boys too, or is this just is this a single hitter?
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: It's a single hitter.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 35:14SPEAKER_02: One and done.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: And I play like a uh in the fraternity, it's like my first year, so I'm like a little brother to one of the guys.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: He's like my big brother in the fraternity, and I just play this like absolute horn dog that's just trying to get laid the entire time.
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, my name's Jimmy, and I'm yeah, pretty much a sleaze bag in that.
- 35:38SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: Todd, Todd, put that put that on the list.
- 35:41SPEAKER_04: Put it on the list.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: Vale, have you seen it?
- 35:44SPEAKER_05: I have not.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, he hasn't seen it already?
- 35:47SPEAKER_05: No.
- 35:48SPEAKER_05: I know about it, but I didn't watch it yet.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, of course he knows about it.
- 35:54SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's awesome.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, I'm gonna look it up real fast just so we know if it's if it's watchable.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think.
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: Sorority, sorority boys.
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: Sorority boys.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: Originally called Dog Eaters.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: Or dog, no, not dog eaters.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: Dog haters, dog haters, or something like that.
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: Because the girls were the DOGs, was their like sorority name, the dogs.
- 36:22SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, there it is.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: You played, you played Jimmy.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: How do I watch it?
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, rent or buy on Amazon Prime.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: I can go and get it there.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: Done.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: That's definitely doable.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: We can do that one.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: So this is strapped for cash, three fraternity playboys make one last attempt to live the high life cheaply by masquerading as girls, but their chauvinistic ways come back to haunt them as they get a crash course in the opposite sex.
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: Sounds like a winner.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: Sounds like sounds like dyed down material right there.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we'll have to round the round off the trilogy of you know watchable movies of mine with that one for sure.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: No, absolutely.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: Well, Tony, we we do it, we definitely appreciate you taking time to come on here and down with us.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: Anything that you want to uh ask us or say to us as we close out tonight's recording here?
- 37:30SPEAKER_02: You know, I just want to say thank you guys.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: It's you know, it's a big compliment.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: I always I always walk away feeling like I've learned something from spending time with you guys.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: I'm a brighter, wiser person.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: Would you would you be able to say have you learned anything at all from watching the uh you know the cinematic experiences of the Tony Denman collection?
- 37:54SPEAKER_05: Vale, what have you learned?
- 37:56SPEAKER_05: I've learned that there's a lot of drinking in these movies.
- 38:00SPEAKER_05: Well, some of them, and a lot of women, uh a lot of fun.
- 38:04SPEAKER_05: So yeah, I've learned a lot.
- 38:06SPEAKER_05: I've I've well, I don't think learned maybe I reminisced about our days back in college as I'm watching these movies.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I will say that I draw a parallelism sometimes as I'm watching these, about oh, it reminds me of the you know, the night at on Newton reminds me of that.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: But I have learned you always need to stretch before sex, you don't want to pull a hamming, and always make sure that your girl is into sausage before you waste your money on a big one.
- 38:39SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's funny.
- 38:41SPEAKER_05: And don't get don't get Everclear thrown in your eyes.
- 38:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it stings.
- 38:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it stings.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: That stings.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: And and just stay away from monkey bones.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: There's no there's no need to try it, there's no need to do it.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: You know, the the risk-reward ratio is not there.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but no shame to those who have smoked them either.
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: No.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: If if you smoked them and survived, God bless you.
- 39:09SPEAKER_01: No, I definitely like I definitely enjoy your movies, Tony.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: I I I like all the sorts of like national lampoons, slapstick, you know, you know, stupid humor kind of things.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: And when you can when you involve tits and ass, it just you know makes it a lot more enjoyable for a guy like me as well.
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 39:26SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 39:26SPEAKER_02: I'm glad to see the demographic, you know, is working.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: Yes, we're still alive and strong.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: Those of us that remember the old video days where you'd walk in and the adult nudie section was around the corner behind the drapes, and you had to like you know sneak back in there to get those movies.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Move like the hippie beads away.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: Yep, exactly.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: Get caught in them a little bit as you go through.
- 39:54unknown: Yeah.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: So, Todd, we're gonna put sorority boys on the list.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Yep, we got it.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: Make sure we do that.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: Um, and you know, uh as always, Tony, anytime you want to come back, even if it's you know, not not when we're talking about your movies or something.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: If you ever want to get involved in are you smarter than a Todd or any of the other crazy things that we do, you are always more than welcome to join us and down whenever you want.
- 40:20SPEAKER_02: I'm a stay.
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for sure.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 40:24SPEAKER_02: Happy to be here, and I look forward to the next one.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Todd, anything else from you for tonight?
- 40:30SPEAKER_04: I just want to see Hollywood get on that unicycle again, see him ride around, go around the yard.
- 40:36SPEAKER_04: That would be hilarious.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: Do you do you still have the skill set?
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: Can you still do it, Tony?
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: Or is that is that long gone?
- 40:44SPEAKER_02: Well, there's an X-rated video of it that I'll share with you guys later on.
- 40:48SPEAKER_04: Whoa.
- 40:50SPEAKER_04: Please switch.
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: On that note, Addie O's got his gone.
