Latest / The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson / An American Democrat Operative in Canada

- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, Bionna, the justices in this case have sided with
- 0:03Speaker 1: the Trump administration. First, to give you a little bit
- 0:06Speaker 1: of context, this dates back to this executive order that
- 0:09Speaker 1: was issued by President Trump in March that, as you said,
- 0:12Speaker 1: really was focused on election integrity, election security. Every American
- 0:18Speaker 1: who the federal government believes is eligible to vote in
- 0:21Speaker 1: federal elections, they were then directed to send those lists
- 0:24Speaker 1: eventually to the state's to help the states then cull
- 0:27Speaker 1: their voter rolls looking for non-citizens or anyone else who
- 0:32Speaker 1: is ineligible to vote. Of course, that ties back to
- 0:34Speaker 1: the president's longstanding claims that there is widespread voter fraud
- 0:38Speaker 1: in this country.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Good Saturday morning.
- 0:44Speaker 4: So nice to have you with us on the 47
- 0:46Speaker 4: Morning Update.
- 0:47Speaker 3: And we've got two big stories for you.
- 0:49Speaker 4: First up, in a shocking news story, we are now
- 0:52Speaker 4: learning that Democrats are actually working with Canada to undermine
- 0:57Speaker 4: President Donald Trump and his tariff negotiations with our northern neighbor.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So how did they get away with it? We'll expose
- 1:06Speaker 3: it all.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Up next, a very interesting move by the president, using
- 1:10Speaker 4: ICE agents to help protect our election integrity with the
- 1:14Speaker 4: midterms coming up. Plus, also screening people from other countries.
- 1:19Speaker 4: It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 1:24Speaker 4: I want to get you up to date on what's
- 1:25Speaker 4: happening with Canada right now. And there's something very weird, odd, strange, unique,
- 1:31Speaker 4: and honestly, not surprising, all at the same time happening.
- 1:36Speaker 4: And that is, it looks like Liberal Democrats are now
- 1:41Speaker 4: working with Canada to undermine President Donald Trump. Now, the
- 1:47Speaker 4: Canadian Prime Minister Carney appointed a longtime Democrat political operative
- 1:53Speaker 4: who to a newly created senior position in his government.
- 1:57Speaker 4: The latest action in a long history between prominent Democrats
- 2:01Speaker 4: colluding with the country's leaders to oppose the Trump administration.
- 2:06Speaker 4: The two countries are now embroiled in a tense back
- 2:09Speaker 4: and forth, years in the making that threatens American interests
- 2:13Speaker 4: on trade as well as national security. Now, in mid-July,
- 2:17Speaker 4: Carney appointed Johnson as chief operating officer of the prime
- 2:22Speaker 4: minister's office. The position is the equivalent of the White
- 2:26Speaker 4: House chief of staff, and she is the first person
- 2:28Speaker 4: to hold the title in the Canadian government. Johnson also
- 2:33Speaker 4: concurrently serves as senior special advisor for, quote, United States
- 2:38Speaker 4: stakeholder strategy, a post she was hired in February of
- 2:42Speaker 4: this year to have as well. Now, what makes this
- 2:45Speaker 4: arrangement unusual is as an American citizen, Johnson, yes, you
- 2:51Speaker 4: heard that right, as an American citizen, Democrat operative, Johnson
- 2:56Speaker 4: is forbidden from top secret security clearance. As Carney's top deputy,
- 3:01Speaker 4: it's unclear what access Johnson receives to classified or secure materials. Now,
- 3:08Speaker 4: there was also no official announcement of the hire on
- 3:12Speaker 4: the prime minister's official website, which makes this even more
- 3:15Speaker 4: interesting because normally you would publicize something like this unless
- 3:19Speaker 4: you're trying to downplay it on purpose. Now, Johnson's professional
- 3:24Speaker 4: history is lined with connections to Democrats in America. Remember,
- 3:28Speaker 4: this is an American citizen. In 2016, for example, she
- 3:32Speaker 4: was listed as director of scheduling. for the failed Hillary
- 3:35Speaker 4: Clinton presidential campaign in 2020. She also worked for Michael
- 3:40Speaker 4: Bloomberg's now-defunct hawkish political consulting firm. and provided quote-unquote strategic
- 3:48Speaker 4: consulting services to the Biden campaign from August through December
- 3:53Speaker 4: of 2020. Now, when I say this is a top-level
- 3:56Speaker 4: American citizen democratic operative who's now the chief of staff
- 4:01Speaker 4: in Canada for the prime minister, yeah, you should all
- 4:04Speaker 4: be saying, what in the world's going on?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Now, that's not all she's done. Let me also just
- 4:09Speaker 3: tell you, she also took a position.
- 4:11Speaker 4: With Bloomberg L.P., It's unclear if she worked for the
- 4:15Speaker 4: Biden-Harris campaign in 2024, and the FEC records do not
- 4:20Speaker 4: show expenditures connected to her. She did, though, contribute to
- 4:23Speaker 4: the campaign via the radical organization ActBlue. Am I painting
- 4:29Speaker 4: a good enough picture for you now? Yeah, it's pretty damning, right? Now,
- 4:33Speaker 4: Johnson's ties to Bloomberg serve as the thorough way to
- 4:36Speaker 4: Carney and the web of the Democrats who enjoy access
- 4:40Speaker 4: to the prime minister in Canada. As UN Special Envoy
- 4:44Speaker 4: on Climate Action and Finance, Carney focused on developing tools, guidance,
- 4:51Speaker 4: and products for investors that will combine positive social and
- 4:55Speaker 4: environmental outcomes with strong risk-adjusted returns, quote-unquote. That according to
- 5:01Speaker 4: a biography from the World Bank. Now, Carney served in
- 5:04Speaker 4: the position beginning in 19, following stints as governor of
- 5:08Speaker 4: the Bank of England and the Bank of Canada. Now,
- 5:11Speaker 4: in his U.N. role, Carney co-chaired the Glasgow Financial Alliance
- 5:16Speaker 4: for Net Zero.
- 5:18Speaker 3: And guess what?
- 5:19Speaker 4: The American, who's now the chief of staff in Canada,
- 5:22Speaker 4: provided him with research and support.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah, all of this, you get my point. Now you
- 5:29Speaker 3: know just how bad it is.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Now, when the American citizen Johnson joined the Canadian government,
- 5:34Speaker 4: her portfolio focused on U.S.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Stakeholder strategy. And Canadian-U.S. relations.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Carney and Canada's Liberal Party has hosted a number of
- 5:44Speaker 4: establishment Democrats, and this is where it gets really interesting.
- 5:49Speaker 4: A great example of the radicals they host in Canada,
- 5:52Speaker 4: Alex Soros, has also made visits to Canada twice just
- 5:56Speaker 4: this year. while former President Barack Obama gave a speech
- 6:00Speaker 4: at the Canada 2020 Gala in Toronto, showing Carney's success,
- 6:05Speaker 4: bringing them to Canada to strategize against President Donald Trump. Now,
- 6:10Speaker 4: another connection between Washington Democrats and Carney. is Gerald Butts,
- 6:16Speaker 4: the former political advisor and strategist to the Prime Minister
- 6:19Speaker 4: Justin Trudeau. Now, he is well known in Canada as
- 6:23Speaker 4: the architect of liberals' climate and net zero policies, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 4: the Green New Deal, making him a natural ally, yet again,
- 6:31Speaker 4: for Carney.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Now, this isn't the only big connections.
- 6:35Speaker 4: We also now have learned that Carney and Butts also
- 6:38Speaker 4: hold significant ties to John Podesta, You'll remember that name
- 6:42Speaker 4: because he's the longtime Democratic power broker, dating all the
- 6:45Speaker 4: way back to the Clinton administration, where he served as
- 6:47Speaker 4: White House chief of staff. Podesta chaired the Hillary Clinton
- 6:50Speaker 4: campaign in 2016 and would later serve in multiple climate
- 6:54Speaker 4: related roles in the Biden administration. You know, when Solyndra
- 6:58Speaker 4: and all those things were going on, where they wasted
- 7:00Speaker 4: your tax dollars by the billions and billions of.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Dollars, you know, during that time.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Now, Hillary Clinton was a featured speaker at a Canada
- 7:08Speaker 4: 2020 conference and also in 2014, an event that also
- 7:12Speaker 4: served as a fundraiser for the Liberal Party of Canada.
- 7:16Speaker 4: In 17, even a former speechwriter for conservative Prime Minister
- 7:20Speaker 4: Stephen Harper told the New York Post in 2015, quote,
- 7:24Speaker 4: Podesta and Butts clearly know each other, but Carney's campaign
- 7:27Speaker 4: has been very careful not to tie him to anyone
- 7:31Speaker 4: too specifically. Podesta reportedly helped facilitate a private meeting involving Carney,
- 7:37Speaker 4: Obama and Soros at the former president's May 2016 speech
- 7:41Speaker 4: in Toronto. This was followed several weeks later by another
- 7:45Speaker 4: private gathering in Nova Scotia. And that meeting included federal
- 7:50Speaker 4: industry ministers, as well as Soros' wife, Uma Abedin, a
- 7:54Speaker 4: longtime Hillary Clinton loyalist, and Frank McKenna, who currently serves
- 7:59Speaker 4: as the deputy chair of TD Bank Group and chair
- 8:02Speaker 4: of the Brooksfield Asset Management. Now, I tell you about
- 8:06Speaker 4: all this so you understand just how heavy the Democratic
- 8:10Speaker 4: Party is deep inside of Canada. And what are they doing?
- 8:14Speaker 4: Doing everything they can right now to undermine the president
- 8:18Speaker 4: of the United States of America. Even Stephen Moore, talking
- 8:22Speaker 4: about the tariffs on Fox Business Channel, had this to say.
- 8:26Speaker 5: But I do want to point out to the viewers
- 8:28Speaker 5: that China has, I mean, Canada has been cheating. They
- 8:32Speaker 5: are imposing very high tariffs on American farm goods, our
- 8:36Speaker 5: manufacturing goods, our technology products. And so they have been
- 8:40Speaker 5: imposing pretty high tariffs on the U.S. And what Trump
- 8:43Speaker 5: wants to do is force Canada to bring those down.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I think it's a wise strategy.
- 8:49Speaker 4: So the big question is this. If Canada has been cheating,
- 8:53Speaker 4: the question is for how long? And how long has
- 8:55Speaker 4: the Democratic Party been enabling Canada to take advantage of
- 8:59Speaker 4: the United States of America? This is, by the way,
- 9:02Speaker 4: why President Trump's 50 percent tariffs on roughly 20 billion
- 9:05Speaker 4: worth of Canadian goods that took effect on August the
- 9:09Speaker 4: 22nd on Saturday. Well, he did it after those negotiations
- 9:12Speaker 4: between us and Canada collapsed.
- 9:15Speaker 3: And he understands what I'm telling you now.
- 9:17Speaker 4: There are bad actors in Canada who represent America that
- 9:21Speaker 4: are somehow working on the side of Canada to undermine
- 9:24Speaker 4: Donald Trump. You think about how much liberals hate America.
- 9:28Speaker 4: They're willing to go work for the other team to
- 9:31Speaker 4: hurt Donald Trump. And that means they're hurting all of us.
- 9:35Speaker 4: By the way, the White House says Canada is discriminating
- 9:37Speaker 4: against American commerce. Where's the Democratic Party and why aren't
- 9:41Speaker 4: they standing up for American commerce? And if you look
- 9:44Speaker 4: at dairy and alcohol and automobiles, well, you look at
- 9:48Speaker 4: just how big of an advantage Canada has. You got
- 9:51Speaker 4: to ask yourself this question. Why would Democrats ever agree
- 9:55Speaker 4: to supporting Canada knowing what they're doing when it comes
- 9:58Speaker 4: to the double standard in trade? now trump has now
- 10:01Speaker 4: threatened another major escalation doubling tariffs on canadian cars trucks
- 10:06Speaker 4: and auto parts from 25 to 50 beginning january 1
- 10:11Speaker 4: And that would be especially significant because the U.S. and
- 10:15Speaker 4: Canadian auto industries have deeply integrated supply chains. What's clear
- 10:21Speaker 4: is the president of the United States of America, even
- 10:23Speaker 4: if he is having to fight Canada right now, well,
- 10:25Speaker 4: he's not afraid apparently to fight the liberals, to fight
- 10:28Speaker 4: the Democrats in this country who are now working to
- 10:32Speaker 4: undermine America on behalf of the Canadian prime minister.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Next, story number two.
- 10:39Speaker 4: U.S. immigration officers, we now are being told, have been
- 10:43Speaker 4: reassigned to screen South African refugees and find unlawful voters.
- 10:50Speaker 4: This is big breaking news as all U.S. immigration officers
- 10:54Speaker 4: working for a key anti-fraud unit have been reassigned by
- 10:59Speaker 4: the Trump administration to focus on screening South African refugees
- 11:03Speaker 4: and alleged unlawful voters. The Fraud Detection and National Security
- 11:08Speaker 4: Directive immigration officers have been shifted full-time onto two high-priority initiatives,
- 11:15Speaker 4: that according to the internal correspondence seen by The Guardian.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Leaving U.S.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Citizenship and Immigration Services, known as the USCIS, unable to
- 11:25Speaker 4: provide officers to train asylum officers in the near future.
- 11:29Speaker 4: But this is designed on purpose to make sure that
- 11:33Speaker 4: America stays safe. The USCIS is inside the Department of
- 11:37Speaker 4: Homeland Security, which has led Donald Trump's immigration crackdown during
- 11:41Speaker 4: his second term. The processing of asylum claims has largely
- 11:46Speaker 4: ground to a halt during Trump's administration. leaving many seeking
- 11:50Speaker 4: asylum in limbo. And why is that happening? Because of
- 11:54Speaker 4: the countless number of legal immigrants that the Democratic Party
- 11:57Speaker 4: allowed to come across our southern border. So if you're
- 12:01Speaker 4: angry about this chaos and limbo, if you're a liberal
- 12:05Speaker 4: out there, just know this could have all been avoided
- 12:09Speaker 4: if you didn't have wide open southern borders for countless years.
- 12:14Speaker 4: The immigration officers have been reassigned, we're being told, full
- 12:18Speaker 4: time to these high priority initiatives. South Africa refugee screening
- 12:23Speaker 4: and then unlawful voter screening as well. The message sent
- 12:27Speaker 4: on Monday said because of this, we will not have
- 12:31Speaker 4: the ability to assign immigration officers to the training portfolio
- 12:35Speaker 4: for the near future. Now contacted for comment, the USCIS
- 12:39Speaker 4: spokesman said the directorate works on different vetting portfolios to
- 12:43Speaker 4: combat fraud, maintain the integrity of the immigration system, which
- 12:47Speaker 4: clearly we had completely lost in the Biden administration, and
- 12:51Speaker 4: then also detect national security and public safety threats, saying, quote,
- 12:55Speaker 4: this mission set includes a number of those priorities, including
- 13:00Speaker 4: election integrity, and refugee screening. Now, the FDNS is the U.S.
- 13:07Speaker 4: CIS unit responsible for detecting fraud and national security concerns
- 13:12Speaker 4: in immigration benefits applications, including asylum claims. Its officers work
- 13:18Speaker 4: with asylum offices to identify cases requiring what they describe
- 13:22Speaker 4: as further investigation. refer matters to law enforcement, and help
- 13:26Speaker 4: asylum officers identify potential fraud and other red flags. Now,
- 13:32Speaker 4: the reassignment marks a significant diversion of FDNS personnel. The
- 13:38Speaker 4: message addresses only the agency's ability to provide officers for
- 13:41Speaker 4: asylum officer training. It does not say whether routine FDNS screenings.
- 13:47Speaker 4: of pending asylum applications has also slowed or stopped altogether. Now,
- 13:53Speaker 4: a disruption to training would limit specialized instruction for asylum officers,
- 13:58Speaker 4: and a broader slowdown in casework screening would have more
- 14:02Speaker 4: direct consequences, they say, for pending applications. But here's the
- 14:07Speaker 4: part that's really important. The refugee screening priority is part
- 14:11Speaker 4: of the Trump administration's bid. They say to sharply curtail U.S.
- 14:15Speaker 4: refugee resettlement. while also prioritizing admissions of South Africans, primarily
- 14:23Speaker 4: from an area where U.S. officials say they face racial
- 14:26Speaker 4: discrimination and quote unquote white genocide, which the South African
- 14:30Speaker 4: government has, quote, rejected as unfounded and politically motivated. Now,
- 14:35Speaker 4: the most recent refugee report from the U.S. State Department
- 14:38Speaker 4: detailed that of the 10,258 refugees admitted to the U.S.
- 14:40Speaker 4: between October 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026, 1,255 were
- 14:42Speaker 4: from South Africa. The remaining three were Afghans that were
- 14:44Speaker 4: admitted in November. Now, the second priority identified in this
- 15:00Speaker 4: clear message, the screening for, quote, unlawful voters, that appears
- 15:05Speaker 4: to be part of the broader administration's effort to identify
- 15:08Speaker 4: non-citizens alleged to have registered to vote in U.S.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Elections.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Now, experts have expressed a lot of concern. Now, President
- 15:17Speaker 4: Trump has expressed a lot of concern about this being
- 15:21Speaker 4: a significant problem. And that's part of the reason why
- 15:24Speaker 4: clearly the resources are being moved to deal with our
- 15:27Speaker 4: midterm elections that are coming up. Now, the USCIS has
- 15:30Speaker 4: already moved to bar naturalization for green card holders who
- 15:34Speaker 4: voted or registered to vote, showing that if you skip
- 15:38Speaker 4: out on the system or abuse the system and you
- 15:41Speaker 4: think you're going to become an American citizen under this administration,
- 15:44Speaker 4: you are dead wrong. DHS Secretary, for example, Mark Wayne Mullen,
- 15:49Speaker 4: said in July that the department has identified over 250,000
- 15:55Speaker 4: potential non-citizens illegally registered to vote in California, in Nevada,
- 16:02Speaker 4: in New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Now, this is a shocking number.
- 16:08Speaker 4: And the point is the president has made it clear
- 16:11Speaker 4: what his agenda items are. He wants to make sure
- 16:15Speaker 4: that our elections are secure. He wants to make sure
- 16:18Speaker 4: that if you're in this country taking advantage of this country,
- 16:20Speaker 4: especially on a green card, that you will be held accountable.
- 16:24Speaker 3: For your abusing the system.
- 16:27Speaker 4: And he wants to make sure that if you do
- 16:29Speaker 4: ever vote in an election illegally and you are a
- 16:31Speaker 4: green card holder or trying to become an American citizen,
- 16:34Speaker 4: that you will never receive that incredible gift. Now, if
- 16:38Speaker 4: you just go back to the very basics here, one
- 16:42Speaker 4: thing is very clear. This president is saying he is
- 16:46Speaker 4: going to trust but verify when it comes to our
- 16:49Speaker 4: election system. He's making sure that there are actually checks
- 16:53Speaker 4: and balances, not just a bunch of people looking the
- 16:56Speaker 4: other way. And one thing's for sure, you cannot trust
- 17:00Speaker 4: the Democratic Party with these elections at all. They will
- 17:04Speaker 4: lie to your face and tell you that the border
- 17:06Speaker 4: is secure while millions of Americans are coming across the
- 17:10Speaker 4: border illegally. They will also tell you that our election
- 17:13Speaker 4: system is secure, even while you know that there are
- 17:17Speaker 4: actually documented cases of of illegal immigrants who have registered
- 17:22Speaker 4: to vote and have voted in our prior elections. So
- 17:27Speaker 4: this will be a very important moment, a moment where
- 17:31Speaker 4: the president of the United States of America is saying,
- 17:33Speaker 4: I am going to make sure that whatever happened before
- 17:37Speaker 4: doesn't happen again. And if there is cheating, we're going
- 17:41Speaker 4: to find it and we'll hold those accountable for it.
- 17:44Speaker 4: And if there's no cheating, great, then we're doing our
- 17:47Speaker 4: job exactly the way that we should be.
- 17:50Speaker 3: So here's the.
- 17:50Speaker 4: President letting those bad actors know less than 70 days
- 17:55Speaker 4: out from the midterms that we are paying attention to
- 17:59Speaker 4: our elections like never before.
