- 0:03Speaker 1: the day, and it's been a great day. It's been fun.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Thank you for listening to us, writing with us, rolling
- 0:10Speaker 1: with us every single morning. Junior, before we get out
- 0:13Speaker 1: of here, I know you have a question for Steve.
- 0:17Speaker 2: You know unc people. Uh you said you have no
- 0:21Speaker 2: faith in people. None.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I told y'all, going, so you want to bring that?
- 0:32Speaker 3: I told y'all, I told you I got them glasses
- 0:35Speaker 3: gave him a level of intelligence. That's what he was
- 0:37Speaker 3: hoping for, Junior got. But they look really nice though.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Junior got nice pair of glasses on. They look exactly
- 0:47Speaker 3: like the pair of Carl and Monica got on. Let
- 0:51Speaker 3: me see the side of them, Jr. Let me see
- 0:53Speaker 3: you turn to the side. Hey man, let me see it.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Let me see it without the hat, so I could
- 0:59Speaker 3: see what asking a lot? Asking a lot? Take the
- 1:02Speaker 3: head off here, different different, you just you just went
- 1:09Speaker 3: into an insect commercial. If this ain't John sat He
- 1:15Speaker 3: don't look like he could be on the raid commercial
- 1:17Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But at least he can see now, least he can
- 1:23Speaker 1: I can see now.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yes, it's good, so so so, Junior, what's the question again?
- 1:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:31Speaker 2: When you when you put your faith in people, they'll
- 1:34Speaker 2: let you down and you feel some type of way
- 1:36Speaker 2: because you wouldn't do that, you wouldn't do it, And
- 1:42Speaker 2: what it feels some type of way about it too.
- 1:44Speaker 2: You feeld it, you do.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Well. You know what I think, all of us, all
- 1:50Speaker 3: of us on this radio show, who I've known for
- 1:52Speaker 3: a number of years, is like family to me. You
- 1:56Speaker 3: know when you sit on the radio as much as
- 1:58Speaker 3: we do with each other, through every commercial break, every song,
- 2:03Speaker 3: all of it, every down to every technical difficulty, we
- 2:08Speaker 3: have spent an enormous amount of time talking. I mean,
- 2:12Speaker 3: we know each other's kids, grandkids, We know where each
- 2:17Speaker 3: other everybody go to school. We know graduations, we know
- 2:20Speaker 3: big events. We know Tasha was in Macy's Day parade.
- 2:23Speaker 3: We know about each other. We know how long Tasha
- 2:28Speaker 3: been in cheer. We watched Tommy's kids grow up, go
- 2:34Speaker 3: to college. We watch that. Y'all have watched my life.
- 2:38Speaker 3: We know each other and you're not gonna find another you,
- 2:46Speaker 3: and you can quit looking for you. That has been
- 2:50Speaker 3: so disappointing to me in my life till I finally
- 2:54Speaker 3: had to learn, Steve, stop looking for another you that
- 2:58Speaker 3: are no more. And if you keep looking for another you,
- 3:01Speaker 3: you're gonna be disappointed over and over and over how
- 3:05Speaker 3: you would do a person. It's gonna be very hard
- 3:08Speaker 3: to find people that would do you the same way.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's hard, man, now, and especially in family, you could
- 3:15Speaker 3: just throw that out the window because you don't get
- 3:17Speaker 3: to pick them now. I have some friends who I
- 3:20Speaker 3: have picked over the years that I choose to associate
- 3:23Speaker 3: myself with, who are more like I am, who call
- 3:29Speaker 3: and check on me, what ain't nothing wrong? Hey man?
- 3:32Speaker 3: I got three dudes that if I picked the phone
- 3:35Speaker 3: up right now and I said, hey man, I got
- 3:38Speaker 3: a problem with this cat down here, man, But I
- 3:40Speaker 3: can't do nothing because you know my situation. I'm on
- 3:42Speaker 3: a plane, man, and they'll get on a plane. I
- 3:46Speaker 3: know three people right now I can call and say
- 3:50Speaker 3: I can tell them anything, and they coming without question.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But they've been tested in true over a number of years.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I have a friend that I've been friends with for
- 4:01Speaker 3: sixty four years. He has proven nothing to be nothing
- 4:05Speaker 3: except my friend. I'm down, he coming, he down, I'm coming.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Everybody else, man, I don't really count on people to
- 4:14Speaker 3: be like me. And a lot of times, especially if
- 4:17Speaker 3: you're the chosen one, if you're the one in your
- 4:20Speaker 3: family that made the breakthrough, which all of you are
- 4:23Speaker 3: on this show, Mississippi Monica included, all of you are
- 4:27Speaker 3: on this show. Do you know how many times you're
- 4:29Speaker 3: gonna be disappointed? Do you know how many ways you're
- 4:32Speaker 3: gonna get pulled in? I need this, I want that
- 4:36Speaker 3: because they know and they think you got it and
- 4:38Speaker 3: you do have it, but you don't have it for them,
- 4:42Speaker 3: and you have to distance yourself from family. Sometimes it's
- 4:45Speaker 3: people that's my family. I'm ride or die. No, no,
- 4:49Speaker 3: because you will end up not riding, but dying often
- 4:54Speaker 3: because with family, often times up comes a very very low,
- 5:01Speaker 3: low level of appreciation. They just don't because they remember
- 5:05Speaker 3: you winning. You know, man, you got all that money.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I remember when you ain't had nothing. I used to man,
- 5:12Speaker 3: I used to have to let you drive my car.
- 5:14Speaker 3: You remember that time? Hey, man, do you know do
- 5:17Speaker 3: you know man? A guy? Let me get this story
- 5:20Speaker 3: straight because it just threw me off. Man. Oh, a
- 5:25Speaker 3: guy that I knew before I got into comedy. We
- 5:29Speaker 3: started a business together. It was a carpet cleaning company,
- 5:34Speaker 3: and he bought a Clark machine at a pawn shop
- 5:40Speaker 3: with the big brush on it. It was a carpet shampoo.
- 5:44Speaker 3: That carpet shampoo at the pawn shop was two hundred
- 5:48Speaker 3: and thirty five dollars. He bought it and we started
- 5:51Speaker 3: cleaning carpets like that. Do you know I have not
- 5:55Speaker 3: talked to this guy in years. He called me and
- 5:58Speaker 3: now he wants to open up a club in Florida
- 6:03Speaker 3: and asked me for the money to open the club
- 6:06Speaker 3: in Florida. Because if you remember when you had nothing,
- 6:10Speaker 3: I gave you the money to start your carpet cleaning company.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Two hundred and thirty five dollars is what we open
- 6:18Speaker 3: the business with. You know how much he won't four
- 6:22Speaker 3: hundred thousand, and he equated it to the two hundred
- 6:25Speaker 3: and thirty five dollars. Boy, what y'all have a good
- 6:32Speaker 3: day today. Stop expecting people to be like you because
- 6:36Speaker 3: they ain't talk to God today. You love to hear
- 6:38Speaker 3: from your peace.
