- 0:03Speaker 1: time and tap the preset button.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Now. Now back to the Mark Simone show on woor.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hey.
- 0:12Speaker 1: You know the CBS network we would mentioned earlier in
- 0:16Speaker 1: the program, there are going to be a lot of
- 0:17Speaker 1: layoffs today over at CBS News. You know, they have
- 0:20Speaker 1: CBS News and they do the newscast on television, but
- 0:23Speaker 1: you know there's also the CBS Radio network News. And
- 0:28Speaker 1: if you used to listen to the old WCBS Radio,
- 0:30Speaker 1: remember at the top of the hour they go to
- 0:33Speaker 1: the network CBS Radio News and top of the hour
- 0:36Speaker 1: they would do the news. Well, a lot of stations
- 0:37Speaker 1: around the country would carry the CBS Radio News as
- 0:43Speaker 1: their news source, and the top of the hour the
- 0:45Speaker 1: network newscast was just announced. Hard to believe. CBS management
- 0:52Speaker 1: just put out this statement today. We informed our CBS
- 0:55Speaker 1: News Radio team and our approximately seven hundred affiliates that
- 1:02Speaker 1: we will end the service on May twenty second, twenty
- 1:05Speaker 1: twenty six. No more CBS Radio News, no more CBS
- 1:09Speaker 1: News Radio, closing down the whole thing, not just eliminating
- 1:13Speaker 1: some jobs, shutting down the whole CBS News radio service.
- 1:17Speaker 1: It will not exist it's been around one hundred years.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Edward R. Murrow was on CBS News Radio, Walter Cronkite, Lowell,
- 1:24Speaker 1: Thomas dan Rather, Mike Wallace. It's gone May twenty second.
- 1:30Speaker 1: What's that like? Two months? You have to do that,
- 1:32Speaker 1: by the way, because you have seven hundred affiliates. You
- 1:35Speaker 1: can't just shut it off Monday. You have to give
- 1:38Speaker 1: all your affiliates time to find another network to use.
- 1:41Speaker 1: But that's interesting. Let's go to Stuart in South Carolina. Stuart,
- 1:45Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Hey?
- 1:46Speaker 4: Mark? You know, I want to mention about these speed
- 1:49Speaker 4: cameras and red light cameras. You know, I've been a
- 1:51Speaker 4: police officer next year'll be fifty years, and I believe
- 1:53Speaker 4: they are completely unconstitutional. And the reason is that when
- 1:58Speaker 4: an officer arrests, say for a misdemeanor, which is, you know,
- 2:02Speaker 4: running a red light or speeding, he has to witness
- 2:05Speaker 4: that that infraction to make an arrest. And the ticket
- 2:09Speaker 4: is actually an arrest, but you're you're being released on the.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Camera takes a photograph. That's kind of a witness.
- 2:16Speaker 4: It does. But the problem is, Mark, that you have
- 2:19Speaker 4: to have an individual and officer witness that infraction, and
- 2:24Speaker 4: when you have a camera. A camera cannot testify in
- 2:28Speaker 4: court to your speed or that you ran a red light.
- 2:31Speaker 4: That's why people wear monkey masks and bags over their heads,
- 2:34Speaker 4: and they change their license plates and put covers over them.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I don't believe we have them in the South.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Maybe quicker just to go to the speed limit, wait in
- 2:44Speaker 1: line and distorted, buy a monkey mask and hey, let
- 2:47Speaker 1: me ask you off the record question. It's speed limit
- 2:50Speaker 1: to fifty five now, guys going on sixty one miles?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Then would you pull them over for that?
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:55Speaker 4: No, I allowed fifteen miles over and most officers down
- 2:59Speaker 4: here too.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yeah whoa, oh absolutely yeah yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Even on we have Highway one here, which is forty
- 3:08Speaker 4: five or fifty five. A lot of times we'd allow
- 3:10Speaker 4: about sixty nine or seventy wow. Yeah, and then a
- 3:13Speaker 4: lot of times if the people are nice, we would
- 3:15Speaker 4: break it down to say fifty nine and fifty, which
- 3:19Speaker 4: is a two point ticket. As long as you don't
- 3:21Speaker 4: have any other tickets, it doesn't make your insurance go up. Yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 4: So there are ways of doing things.
- 3:26Speaker 1: All right, great call as always, Stuart. Let's go to
- 3:28Speaker 1: dan Port Jefferson, Dan, how you doing Mark?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Great?
- 3:33Speaker 5: You know you're talking about Democrats or left people saying
- 3:38Speaker 5: people finding it hard to get IDs, they can't get
- 3:40Speaker 5: IDs to Are those people we want electing our officials.
- 3:45Speaker 5: We really want them voting. If they can't get an ID.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Everybody can get an idea. It's just the democratic racism.
- 3:52Speaker 1: They're so racist. They actually say that all minorities, well
- 3:55Speaker 1: they would that wouldn't know how to get a photo.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's the most racist thing imaginable. Rich Beach, Rich, how
- 4:00Speaker 1: you doing?
- 4:02Speaker 3: Hey?
- 4:02Speaker 2: You know Stuart there is right because the Myrtle Beach.
- 4:04Speaker 2: We got this main highway thirty one, which saysha from
- 4:06Speaker 2: South Mortal Beach and North Myrtle Beach about twenty five
- 4:09Speaker 2: miles and then speak limit there sixty five and people
- 4:12Speaker 2: are passing me at seventy five and they let you
- 4:14Speaker 2: go to almost eighty, which is about fifteen over. And
- 4:17Speaker 2: I wonder if Stuart has the same pine problem, a
- 4:20Speaker 2: pine pole and problem we have here because right now
- 4:23Speaker 2: it's pine pollen season where everything is covered in a
- 4:26Speaker 2: green dust as the pine trees are all starting to
- 4:29Speaker 2: release their pollen. Single, what's that?
- 4:32Speaker 1: That sounds good?
- 4:34Speaker 2: So it's unbelievable. Your eyes are irritated your alergies come up.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Everything is covered in a green dust until we get
- 4:41Speaker 2: a heavy rain of wave.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Don't leave New York, stay in New York. Rich thanks
- 4:45Speaker 1: for calling. Oh, let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent.
- 4:49Speaker 3: How you doing, I'm doing good. Mark. If I were
- 4:52Speaker 3: to yowder of that, what'd you say to Christie? I
- 4:55Speaker 3: would immediately call my exterminator, have a new one inspection sticker,
- 5:01Speaker 3: a certificate dawn of the kitchen and the bathroom in
- 5:06Speaker 3: the restaurant, because guaranteed, before this weekends over, somebody from
- 5:12Speaker 3: the state Health Department in Arkansas is going to pay
- 5:16Speaker 3: a visit to that restaurant, and magically they're gonna find
- 5:21Speaker 3: mice and rats, feces in the kitchen, in the food
- 5:25Speaker 3: prep area, some dead cockroaches, and they're going to close
- 5:30Speaker 3: that restaurant down. As you said, Mark, I noticed that
- 5:35Speaker 3: blue cities in Blue States. Man Dommy's what he did
- 5:38Speaker 3: the other day is a perfect example. Yesterday you were
- 5:42Speaker 3: talking about how he took out the criminal prosecution of
- 5:47Speaker 3: any person on a bicycle committing a traffic infraction. Now,
- 5:53Speaker 3: if you look at all these e riders, these door
- 5:56Speaker 3: dash riders, grub Hub, look at them. Most of them
- 5:59Speaker 3: are Indians Pakistani Southeast stations. Those are his large part
- 6:06Speaker 3: of those people are his voting base, and he's protecting
- 6:10Speaker 3: all his homeboys. And in other instances, the city passes
- 6:16Speaker 3: laws where you got to hire people who work in
- 6:23Speaker 3: his voting block. For example, last year they passed the
- 6:26Speaker 3: law that it didn't apply to me, but certain people.
- 6:29Speaker 3: If you have a brick or mercenary parapet on your building,
- 6:36Speaker 3: you have to have that inspected. I didn't. I have
- 6:39Speaker 3: a wooden corners. So with us to the people who
- 6:43Speaker 3: worked those trades, Mark I, immigrants, You're not the Aaans
- 6:49Speaker 3: in the Irish Va fifty sixty years ago. So in
- 6:53Speaker 3: one end he's pulling liability away from them, and on
- 6:58Speaker 3: the other end he's steering business with them.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Vincent, we gotta go. We gotta do the newest Vincent.
- 7:03Speaker 1: But thanks for calling. Great call. When we come back,
- 7:07Speaker 1: Charlie Gasparino, he'll be with us next on seven ten
- 7:11Speaker 1: wor
