- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Writer, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: So you failed.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: You messed up.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: You didn't do what you said you were going to do.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: You didn't get the writing done, or you failed to live up to your own expectations, or worse yet, somebody else's.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Well, the truth is that we've all been there, and it's nothing new in the world of writers and artists and creatives.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: The good news is that tomorrow is a new day.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: You have a chance to start over again and recommit to the work that is so important to you.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Better yet, tomorrow is not just a chance to start fresh.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: You can also begin tomorrow as a person who's just a little bit wiser because of what you learned today.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, Finish every day and be done with it.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: You have done what you could.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt, crept in.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Forget them as soon as you can.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow is a new day.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: You shall begin it well and serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Well, those are wise words for writers for sure.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: And there's no use worrying about the things that you didn't do today.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: You can't go back and change them.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: So you're only wasting time and emotional energy when you focus on the regret that you're feeling from your failures.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Life is kind of like a giant chalkboard.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Every day you get a chance to wipe it clean and start fresh.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: So get busy learning from today's mistakes and recommitting to a fresh start starting tomorrow.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Hey, thanks so much for checking out today's episode.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: If you've been listening to this show any length of time, you know that one of the four practices of a great writer is creativity.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: And in order to stay creative, you've got to have great input.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And that is where writing prompts come in.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: A writing prompt is a short sentence or two that helps you break through creative blocks, brainstorm new ideas, and get back into a state of flow.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: They're also a fantastic creative tool for journaling, storytelling, masterminds, teaching, social media posts, podcasting, and so much more.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Every day for the whole next year, you can get an email with a writing prompt.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: We have a limited time pricing of only five bucks a month, which is an amazing deal for a creative tool that can inspire you every single day.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: You can check it out at dailywriterlife.comslash writing prompts.
