- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Almost Famous Podcast with iHeartRadio. Hi, everybody.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's Trista, and we are back, me and Deanna.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hi, Dee. Hey, girl. I hope you have plenty of
- 0:14Speaker 1: time today because this was my favorite episode by far,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and I plan on rambling for like two hours, but
- 0:21Speaker 1: I will try my best to keep it to a
- 0:24Speaker 1: solid minimum because I have lots of thoughts. I mean, same, same.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And obviously, we are here to talk the most dramatic
- 0:32Speaker 2: dance floor ever with Dancing with the Stars. Season five,
- 0:37Speaker 2: their latest episode, I think it was episode four or, no, sorry,
- 0:40Speaker 2: it was season five. Can you imagine season five? That
- 0:45Speaker 2: was like 2006, you know? Trista, we would be young, tight.
- 0:52Speaker 1: We would be so young and have no... Fresh faced.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd have little tiny babies that I miss so much.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Anyway, season 35, episode 5 last night. And you're right.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It was full of.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Goodies that we are so excited to talk about. I
- 1:11Speaker 1: literally texted you last night, goody, goody, goody. Yeah. I
- 1:15Speaker 1: was wondering what that meant too at the time. I
- 1:18Speaker 1: was like, so many, so many goody moments. I hope
- 1:21Speaker 1: you are buckling up for today so much. I'm like
- 1:24Speaker 1: a thirsty old woman.
- 1:26Speaker 2: So the theme of the episode last night was Mariah
- 1:30Speaker 2: Carey and she started out the show with reading a
- 1:34Speaker 2: teleprompter i'm sure you you noticed i so i follow
- 1:37Speaker 2: i don't follow this guy but every wednesday morning i
- 1:42Speaker 2: open instagram to this guy who his wife records him
- 1:47Speaker 2: i need to get his instagram account his wife records
- 1:51Speaker 2: him and he it's like his commentary throughout the show
- 1:54Speaker 2: And he was like, Mariah, you could have tried a
- 1:57Speaker 2: little with the teleprompter.
- 1:59Speaker 1: That is not it. That's not her strong suit. The
- 2:04Speaker 1: high notes and the low notes are her strong suit.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Let's give the queen a break, okay? Right, I know.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I mean, the high notes especially. She's just a force.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Like, she's had more single, I think, singles that she's
- 2:19Speaker 2: written than any other. Like, this is compared to Taylor Swift.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So, I mean.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And I will say, Julianne, I was watching on Instagram
- 2:28Speaker 2: yesterday all about this dress. Did you hear about the
- 2:32Speaker 2: dress before? Like, Ezra brought it up after he danced
- 2:37Speaker 2: with Julia. But her dress that she wore last night
- 2:40Speaker 2: is actually Mariah Carey's dress that they found on The RealReal.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Okay, I heard her mention that towards the end of
- 2:47Speaker 1: the episode. But now that I'm a critic of Dancing
- 2:52Speaker 1: with the Stars... in all of my professional opinions. I
- 2:56Speaker 1: didn't like the way they skirted over it. And the
- 2:58Speaker 1: way she kind of stuck it in there was like, oh,
- 3:02Speaker 1: she forgot to do it in the episode. So she
- 3:04Speaker 1: threw it in there real quick and then she got
- 3:05Speaker 1: all flustered and then she had to pick up with
- 3:07Speaker 1: another question. They didn't spend enough time really talking about
- 3:11Speaker 1: that because that's iconic. If I could fit a thigh
- 3:16Speaker 1: in a dress that Mariah Carey wore once, I'd probably
- 3:21Speaker 1: sleep in it, eat in it, go to lunch in it,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and clean house in it. And she was fire last night.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Julianne looked amazing.
- 3:30Speaker 2: And I guess the inspiration of her long hair last
- 3:32Speaker 2: night was that Giselle did a cover in that same
- 3:36Speaker 2: dress on a magazine. I think it was Vanity Fair
- 3:39Speaker 2: or something. And so her look was inspired by Giselle.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And honestly, like I told you guys last night on
- 3:45Speaker 2: our text thread, she was giving me young Joan vibes.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I know. You said that. Joan from The Golden Bachelorette.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's who Trista thinks that Julianne looked like last night.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And I will tell you, as the show went on,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I couldn't unsee it when I was looking at her.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And listen.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Julian is like, she is so fire. She's so cute.
- 4:07Speaker 1: She's got that bubbly personality, you know, her dancing, everything.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I actually like her with shorter hair. I think the
- 4:16Speaker 1: long hair aged her. It's interesting.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I feel like I love that she has this short hair,
- 4:24Speaker 2: but I love that she changes her hair constantly. Like
- 4:27Speaker 2: we have seen her go through so many changes and
- 4:30Speaker 2: I think she changes it up because she just likes it.
- 4:34Speaker 2: The change, the newness of a new cut, and the
- 4:37Speaker 2: kind of fashion and style around it. I do love
- 4:42Speaker 2: her with long.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Hair, though, I have to say. She looked so hot
- 4:45Speaker 1: last night.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Not that she isn't beautiful every single episode.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Always. Always, right? I'm hooked now, Trista.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah, good.
- 4:53Speaker 1: It took me a few episodes, you know what I mean?
- 4:55Speaker 1: And you know how I am.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I'm loyal.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I like all the things. I need to be like,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I need to like really... be down by like episode
- 5:03Speaker 1: two and this was a little slow growing for me
- 5:08Speaker 1: until last night and i am so down with a
- 5:13Speaker 1: mariah carey night you know what i mean yeah this
- 5:16Speaker 1: was so nostalgic to me i loved her growing up
- 5:20Speaker 1: i went through this phase when i was like i
- 5:22Speaker 1: don't know 10 11 12 that i was going to
- 5:23Speaker 1: be a singer and my mom was still alive and
- 5:26Speaker 1: she would just like sit in the living room in
- 5:28Speaker 1: her hospital bed and like watch me sing and i
- 5:30Speaker 1: would try to sing mariah carey And you know, now
- 5:33Speaker 1: we know being a mom, like she was like, oh
- 5:34Speaker 1: my God, my sweet little girl. She was, how were
- 5:37Speaker 1: her ears not bleeding? But I carried on with this
- 5:41Speaker 1: dream for some time. Well into my twenties, I took
- 5:43Speaker 1: voice lessons. I was convinced that I wanted to be
- 5:46Speaker 1: a singer, but I have terrible stage fright. Isn't that
- 5:48Speaker 1: so funny? says the girl who goes on reality TV
- 5:52Speaker 1: and now podcasts. You know what I mean? I had
- 5:54Speaker 1: terrible stage fright. I cannot even do karaoke. Like I
- 5:57Speaker 1: can't stand in front of people and I have a
- 6:00Speaker 1: relatively decent voice, but her octave range is impeccable. Like
- 6:07Speaker 1: you can't compare it to anyone else. And her stage
- 6:11Speaker 1: presence is And I loved that they showed some of
- 6:15Speaker 1: the old clips of her from the early 2000s where
- 6:19Speaker 1: she's like, the lighting is not good in here. Don't
- 6:21Speaker 1: film me. She just can't be bothered. She is so
- 6:25Speaker 1: true to who she is. And as a woman, I
- 6:29Speaker 1: really admire that. I wish at that age I had
- 6:34Speaker 1: that kind of confidence. I did not. I didn't. I
- 6:38Speaker 1: remember going into The Bachelorette and they were like, you
- 6:39Speaker 1: have to wear bikinis. And I was like, absolutely not.
- 6:41Speaker 1: My body was banging 20 years ago. You know, like
- 6:45Speaker 1: the way that Mariah Carey just exudes confidence and royalty
- 6:52Speaker 1: really And can still do that today. Like, I was
- 6:56Speaker 1: so stoked last night. I was all in my feels
- 6:58Speaker 1: with all of the songs, with all of the dreams,
- 7:00Speaker 1: with all of the memories, with the clothing. We're going
- 7:04Speaker 1: to get into that. But yeah, did you love it?
- 7:07Speaker 1: I loved it. I loved it.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I was a little skeptical going into it, thinking Mariah
- 7:11Speaker 2: Carey night. I mean, I love Mariah Carey songs, but
- 7:13Speaker 2: I didn't know how they were going to, you know,
- 7:16Speaker 2: make it work. I would have loved to see her
- 7:18Speaker 2: in the ballroom, but whatever.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I mean, right?
- 7:22Speaker 2: Um, so we should get on to, uh, the dances
- 7:26Speaker 2: because you know, that's what we're here for.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Um, so we started. Right. Thanks Trista.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Well, you know, Heather is writing in the chat.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on. See, we, this is why the
- 7:38Speaker 1: people love us. There was so much commentary on the
- 7:41Speaker 1: social media, the social media. I'm so old. last week.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And I love that our listeners are engaging with us
- 7:50Speaker 1: and watching the show with us. You know, I have
- 7:53Speaker 1: so much fun doing this with you because you're my
- 7:55Speaker 1: friend and I have so much fun podcasting, but it is,
- 7:58Speaker 1: it has been really fun to dive into a show
- 8:01Speaker 1: that is like not my thing. And I know it's
- 8:03Speaker 1: your thing, Trista, and just kind of learn as I go.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And I'm, I'm like, I'm having so much fun. I
- 8:09Speaker 1: love it. I'm so, that makes me so happy. Just
- 8:12Speaker 1: bring another girl to my side. Um, Yes, I love it.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Okay, so Sierra and Brandon were first. And I thought
- 8:21Speaker 2: it was a jazz piece. They did it to emotions.
- 8:25Speaker 2: And I felt like it's really interesting to me because
- 8:28Speaker 2: this show started. And I would love to know the
- 8:33Speaker 2: statistics of how long this went on.
- 8:36Speaker 1: But they did not.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Jazz was not a genre that they had celebs perform.
- 8:43Speaker 1: It was always ballroom genres.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So it was cha-cha, it was tango, it was the waltz,
- 8:49Speaker 2: it was rumba, it was all these very traditional ballroom
- 8:52Speaker 2: or Latin.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Genres.
- 8:56Speaker 2: And jazz is not ballroom per se. And it's usually
- 9:04Speaker 2: saved for the freestyle, which is at the very end
- 9:08Speaker 2: on the finale. You can do whatever genre you want
- 9:11Speaker 2: if you want to do contemporary. They have thrown in contemporary,
- 9:15Speaker 2: but I feel like it was also strange. Season 15,
- 9:18Speaker 2: they started allowing them to do these different genres.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Thank you, Heather.
- 9:23Speaker 2: So they were doing jazz in season 15, 20 seasons ago,
- 9:28Speaker 2: which is crazy to even say out loud. But I just,
- 9:32Speaker 2: I feel like as someone who was there in the beginning,
- 9:36Speaker 2: I would love to go back to where it was
- 9:38Speaker 2: just ballroom.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Pieces. I don't know.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I feel like Jazz just, it was her and Tatiana
- 9:47Speaker 2: that did Jazz last night. And Sierra got amazing scores
- 9:53Speaker 2: and really great feedback from the judges. But I just,
- 9:57Speaker 2: I don't get drawn in. And please, I love Jazz.
- 10:00Speaker 2: as a dancer. I also have a daughter who that's
- 10:03Speaker 2: probably her strongest genre of dance.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And I love jazz.
- 10:09Speaker 2: But I just don't know, how did you feel as
- 10:11Speaker 2: kind of someone new to watching Dancing with the Stars
- 10:14Speaker 2: with the jazz element?
- 10:17Speaker 1: All right, I thought she did amazing last night, so
- 10:19Speaker 1: I have lots of feels when we get to the
- 10:21Speaker 1: end of this episode. I'm not going to spoil anything
- 10:23Speaker 1: for anyone, but I thought she did amazing. But what
- 10:28Speaker 1: I heard you just say is that it was like...
- 10:31Speaker 1: the freestyle is at the end. For someone who does
- 10:34Speaker 1: not know a lot about dance, Trista, it felt like
- 10:36Speaker 1: a freestyle to me. I didn't see jazz. I didn't
- 10:39Speaker 1: see jazz. I thought it was great. And I love
- 10:42Speaker 1: that Carrie Ann said it was her best dance so far.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I thought it was really, really great. She felt connected.
- 10:48Speaker 1: She dances really well. She's got great personality. You know
- 10:51Speaker 1: what I mean? But it felt very freestyle to me.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I didn't see jazz, but I thought she did good.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And I love to see, and I've said this, I
- 10:59Speaker 1: think in every single podcast, podcasts that we have recorded
- 11:02Speaker 1: so far. I have seen improvement in her every week.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And that's kind of why I'm watching. I've said that.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I don't mean to see, you know, the Jenna Dewans improve.
- 11:12Speaker 1: She's incredible. But like, Sierra has improved. every single week.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And she danced her heart out last night. I thought
- 11:20Speaker 1: it was really good.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Jazz, I don't know, but I thought it was really good. Well,
- 11:25Speaker 1: let me clarify.
- 11:26Speaker 2: So at the very end of Dancing with the Stars
- 11:28Speaker 2: on the finale, they do a freestyle routine, meaning that
- 11:32Speaker 2: they don't, they're not given a one specific genre. So
- 11:36Speaker 2: they can blend genres. They can do the tango and
- 11:40Speaker 2: the cha-cha if they wanted to. Like, Or they can
- 11:42Speaker 2: do hip hop or they can do a jazz piece.
- 11:45Speaker 2: So when I say freestyle, it's just in terms of
- 11:49Speaker 2: the Dancing with the Stars, you know, quote unquote, use
- 11:52Speaker 2: of freestyle. But I think what you're saying is it
- 11:55Speaker 2: just seemed like improv, you know, like that they were doing,
- 11:59Speaker 2: you know, like any kind of dance, but it wasn't
- 12:02Speaker 2: very specific. So I just feel like it wasn't, maybe
- 12:06Speaker 2: it was just the choreography that I wasn't crazy about,
- 12:08Speaker 2: but I thought Sierra did a great job last night.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought she did a great job. She got
- 12:14Speaker 1: a 21 out of 30, which I thought was really deserving.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And I like to see that the scores are getting higher.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I know you told me this would happen. So I
- 12:21Speaker 1: am like, I feel like I'm just like mentally preparing
- 12:23Speaker 1: for all of the things. But yeah, 21 out of 30.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I thought it was very well deserved. You know what
- 12:29Speaker 1: I mean?
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah, she did.
- 12:31Speaker 1: She did well.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So pretty. Someone else who does really well. And as
- 12:36Speaker 1: your friend, I know this is still your pick to
- 12:38Speaker 1: win is Ezra and Daniela. I, I fell in love
- 12:44Speaker 1: last night. I mean, there is, I told you I
- 12:48Speaker 1: have so much to unpack in the short period of
- 12:49Speaker 1: time that we have today, but like the way he moved,
- 12:53Speaker 1: I had a couple of things that I was kind
- 12:55Speaker 1: of like, I didn't really need that. And for everyone listening,
- 12:58Speaker 1: we have a little side text chain going on. And
- 13:01Speaker 1: there was this little like dip at the end of
- 13:06Speaker 1: Ezra's dance and Like this little, like, I don't even
- 13:10Speaker 1: know what to call it because I'm very untrained, but
- 13:13Speaker 1: this little like... move at the end where he like dips. I,
- 13:19Speaker 1: it felt very weird and unfitting to me. I didn't
- 13:22Speaker 1: need it. You know what I mean? Because he did
- 13:24Speaker 1: so great. The way he dances is incredible. And to
- 13:29Speaker 1: do that, you know, with everything he has, I, he
- 13:33Speaker 1: moves so well, his hips, the way he glides, the
- 13:36Speaker 1: way he was manhandling his partner and leading her. He's phenomenal.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 1: He is phenomenal.
- 13:45Speaker 2: It truly, and what I loved, this was, to me,
- 13:52Speaker 2: really said so much about their partnership. In the middle
- 13:56Speaker 2: of the dance, they were doing the cucarachas where they're
- 13:59Speaker 2: like standing face to face and they're like moving their hips,
- 14:03Speaker 2: you know, kind of like this. And Danny is had
- 14:07Speaker 2: the biggest smile on her face when she turned to
- 14:10Speaker 2: like go into a new movement. At least that's how
- 14:13Speaker 2: I remember it. And I could see the pride in
- 14:17Speaker 2: her eyes. Like, you just did that. And you could
- 14:21Speaker 2: tell that it was something they worked so hard on.
- 14:24Speaker 2: And she was so proud of him.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And you could see it. It was all over her face.
- 14:31Speaker 1: And it just made me so happy.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Like it just, and I got chills and, and I
- 14:38Speaker 2: will tell you as someone who appreciates dance, you don't
- 14:42Speaker 2: have to be a dancer to appreciate dance, but I
- 14:45Speaker 2: feel like any of the dance shows that I've watched
- 14:47Speaker 2: over the years where the, whether it's, so you think
- 14:49Speaker 2: you can dance or world of dance or dancing with
- 14:51Speaker 2: the stars. Whenever I see a number that is just
- 14:57Speaker 2: out of control.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I get chills and I got chills with this dance.
- 15:02Speaker 2: It was just, it makes you feel something. And I
- 15:07Speaker 2: was blown away by him. He looked hot last night
- 15:10Speaker 2: in how his hair was and everything. He is just
- 15:14Speaker 2: a total inspiration.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I love him. He still is my pick to win.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And I think that a lot of hearts would break
- 15:23Speaker 1: if he were ever kicked off the show. I am
- 15:38Speaker 1: also starting to see the skill in the pros. You
- 15:41Speaker 1: know what I mean? You can just tell the ones
- 15:44Speaker 1: who have been on the show for a while and
- 15:47Speaker 1: are just further into their craft and their career. It
- 15:51Speaker 1: truly shows. Obviously, some of our celebrities have some skill
- 15:55Speaker 1: that's already there and we expect that. But I am.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I am seeing the skill set in the pro. You
- 16:04Speaker 1: know what I mean? The celebrity, they're doing their job
- 16:07Speaker 1: and I commend them for it. But also like, let's
- 16:09Speaker 1: give a round of applause to the pros as well,
- 16:12Speaker 1: because the way that they are able to teach these
- 16:15Speaker 1: people in a short period of time, not just the
- 16:18Speaker 1: dance and the steps and the counts, but also the faces,
- 16:22Speaker 1: the connection, the chemistry. Yeah. That's like, that's all the pros.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It just goes to show that they are worth every penny.
- 16:29Speaker 1: They're worth every penny. Yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I mean, we'll get to that when we come to
- 16:32Speaker 2: Maura and Mark, because I think he's probably the best pro.
- 16:36Speaker 2: But Danny is doing such an incredible job with Ezra.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Just their partnership is something to watch. I look forward
- 16:47Speaker 2: to it every single week. And that's not to say
- 16:50Speaker 2: that I don't look forward to seeing other people on
- 16:53Speaker 2: the show, but I feel like they are the people
- 16:55Speaker 2: that I'm like... Oh, yay.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Here comes their routine. I'm so excited. Yeah. I just
- 16:59Speaker 1: love them. Well, it showed, Trista. They got a 24
- 17:02Speaker 1: out of 30 last night. I mean, I was like, oh, yay.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Big scores. Big scores. I like this.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Big scores. She was so happy. He was so happy, too.
- 17:11Speaker 2: But I love just seeing their joy. So they deserved it.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Harry and Jenna were next.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And we have to point out that Amber Riley, who
- 17:20Speaker 2: was on Glee with Harry.
- 17:22Speaker 1: sang the song.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And I didn't realize that until after Alfonso, you know,
- 17:27Speaker 2: recognized that and introduced her afterwards. But how special is that?
- 17:32Speaker 2: That he got to dance to one of his friends
- 17:34Speaker 2: singing the song.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Like, that's so cool. That's really cool. I love it.
- 17:39Speaker 2: This is another, I would hope that you would agree,
- 17:44Speaker 2: pro situation where Jenna just is a consummate pro and
- 17:50Speaker 2: she shows, and yes, Harry came with some dance talent,
- 17:54Speaker 2: but she has truly taken him to the next level
- 17:57Speaker 2: and shown him all about what ballroom is about. And
- 18:01Speaker 2: I just, I can't get away from the fact that
- 18:04Speaker 2: she is such a stunning dancer, but also has brought
- 18:08Speaker 2: him up to be right there next to him, right
- 18:13Speaker 2: there next to her.
- 18:14Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah. I, I, if I
- 18:17Speaker 1: did not know that he was like married and had
- 18:20Speaker 1: his own family and his whole life going on, I
- 18:23Speaker 1: would absolutely believe the chemistry that the two of them
- 18:26Speaker 1: have going on, the connection that they have. And like,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm not an actress, Trista, nor am
- 18:31Speaker 1: I a professional dancer, but like I don't know if
- 18:35Speaker 1: I could fake it. I don't know if I could
- 18:37Speaker 1: fake it. And they all do it really well. I mean,
- 18:40Speaker 1: they're all really attractive. Let's get on, let's get really honest. I,
- 18:44Speaker 1: I need to work on my abs and my thighs
- 18:46Speaker 1: and everything else after watching Dancing with the Stars. But like,
- 18:50Speaker 1: they're all so attractive and what feels like inside and out.
- 18:55Speaker 1: And I know, and here's a good question that I
- 18:58Speaker 1: thought of last night that I have for you. How
- 19:03Speaker 1: much of their rehearsals is like scripted-ish? I know some
- 19:09Speaker 1: of it, you know what I mean? Like their little
- 19:10Speaker 1: talks on the couches and stuff like that, like that
- 19:12Speaker 1: has to be rehearsed for segments of the show. But
- 19:15Speaker 1: how much time do they actually get in the studio
- 19:18Speaker 1: to rehearse, have time alone without cameras where they are
- 19:22Speaker 1: truly just like working on the craft of dance? Is
- 19:25Speaker 1: it like just one day? And what if they really
- 19:28Speaker 1: just like don't like each other?
- 19:29Speaker 2: No, it's not just one day. They are rehearsing every
- 19:32Speaker 2: day and almost at every moment that they can. And
- 19:37Speaker 2: it's probably up to them how long, like how much
- 19:40Speaker 2: sleep they need, when they want to get some food,
- 19:43Speaker 2: you know, all of those things. They are rehearsing so much.
- 19:47Speaker 2: And I loved this pack. with Harry and Jenna that
- 19:51Speaker 2: it's showing him going back and forth to his real,
- 19:55Speaker 2: not real job, but his Grey's Anatomy job to rehearsing
- 20:00Speaker 2: with her and having to rehearse in tiny spaces, in
- 20:04Speaker 2: his trailer at Grey's, and then in the behind-the-scenes areas
- 20:09Speaker 2: of Grey's Anatomy. Like, that was cool to see, too. Like,
- 20:13Speaker 2: just envisioning him putting on his coat, getting ready for
- 20:17Speaker 2: whatever he has to do. I can't even imagine because
- 20:20Speaker 2: it's not like he doesn't have a big part in
- 20:23Speaker 2: Grey's Anatomy. He is one of the lead actors in
- 20:25Speaker 2: that show. So, he's got to have So many lines.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So not only is he memorizing lines for Grey's Anatomy,
- 20:32Speaker 2: but he's memorizing dance moves.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He's all, let's intubate the trachea. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Doctor, next.
- 20:39Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, how is he keeping
- 20:40Speaker 1: it all straight? Like, that's what my chaotic mind would be, Trista.
- 20:44Speaker 1: No way.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I mean, thank God he's young because there's no way
- 20:47Speaker 2: I could do that now. Like, I love multitasking, but
- 20:50Speaker 2: no way I could do that. So anyway, I thought he...
- 20:55Speaker 2: Totally deserved all of the eights. And I will say
- 20:58Speaker 2: they didn't rip open his shirt on the dance floor,
- 21:01Speaker 2: but he had it open before they got on the
- 21:04Speaker 2: dance floor when they announced that he was going to
- 21:06Speaker 2: be dancing next.
- 21:07Speaker 1: His abs are insane.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Like, my husband has some pretty damn good abs. I
- 21:13Speaker 2: was like, whoa, I don't know that I've ever seen
- 21:16Speaker 2: abs like that.
- 21:17Speaker 1: There were lots of abs last night. Lots of abs.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Lots and lots and lots of abs. It was real
- 21:24Speaker 2: fun to watch.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Like, are they all just like eating lean turkey and
- 21:29Speaker 1: doing sit-ups day in and day out? Yes.
- 21:32Speaker 2: And I don't think you really even have to do
- 21:33Speaker 2: that when you are dancing... all of these dances for
- 21:36Speaker 2: hours and hours and hours and hours a day. You know,
- 21:39Speaker 2: like you really don't have to work out. You just
- 21:42Speaker 2: go to rehearsal.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Okay. So what you have taught me is that I
- 21:45Speaker 1: want to be on Dancing with the Stars just to
- 21:48Speaker 1: refine my 44-year-old body. Excellent. Right. Great. Yes. Let's get
- 21:54Speaker 1: you on. Okay. Next up is Jenna and Val. And
- 21:58Speaker 1: I have said.
- 22:00Speaker 2: In the last couple episodes that she just hadn't drawn
- 22:03Speaker 2: me in and that I wanted to see her doing
- 22:07Speaker 2: a slow dance, right?
- 22:08Speaker 1: Because she had done.
- 22:09Speaker 2: All these really fast, really high energy numbers, which are
- 22:14Speaker 2: great because she's really good at them. But I wanted
- 22:17Speaker 2: to see her depth as a dancer and her abilities
- 22:20Speaker 2: in other dances that showcase her technique. And when you're
- 22:27Speaker 2: asked to do something slowly, right? It can be a
- 22:30Speaker 2: little harder. It can be a little more difficult. And
- 22:33Speaker 2: I thought she freaking crushed it. Like she drew me
- 22:38Speaker 2: in last night. And even though I have said that
- 22:42Speaker 2: I don't see her necessarily in the final because I
- 22:47Speaker 2: didn't know if she would connect with people who are
- 22:50Speaker 2: voting from home, she.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Has the ability.
- 22:53Speaker 2: She obviously would win the show and could have won
- 22:56Speaker 2: the show from the very first episode because of her talent.
- 23:00Speaker 2: and her chemistry with Val, but I just didn't know
- 23:03Speaker 2: if people would connect with her. And I felt like
- 23:05Speaker 2: I connected with her more last night because she did
- 23:09Speaker 2: open up a little bit about how it is really
- 23:11Speaker 2: hard and how she loves it. But also I think
- 23:16Speaker 2: we saw a little softer side of her and I
- 23:18Speaker 2: loved seeing it.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it was nice to see the emotion on her face.
- 23:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I saw like her tear
- 23:24Speaker 1: up and I just appreciated that. It's almost like we
- 23:27Speaker 1: need to see them as human. Exactly.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I want to connect with their story. I want to
- 23:33Speaker 2: learn more. It's like why I love reading books. I
- 23:37Speaker 2: love the character development, right? And so I loved seeing
- 23:42Speaker 2: a little slice of her that we haven't seen yet.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And I hope that continues more and more, that she
- 23:48Speaker 2: opens up, that she's more vulnerable. Maybe she shares about
- 23:52Speaker 2: her kids and her life.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Her daughter was in the audience last night that she
- 23:55Speaker 1: shares with Channing Tatum. Did you see? Yes. Yeah. Yes. Amazing.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I need to believe that they're like my friends, Trista. Totally.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I need to believe that like, since I am invested
- 24:07Speaker 1: into this show, they are also invested in me. Yep. Totally. Yes.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I mean, you know, they know exactly who we are, Deanna.
- 24:17Speaker 1: They know. Obviously. I know my boy, Tyler Cameron, is
- 24:20Speaker 1: listening to this podcast every single week and he's like, oh, Deanna,
- 24:24Speaker 1: if only I had known 20 years ago. Oh, Deanna. Oh, Deanna. Oh, Deanna.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I am delusional, y'all, and I can't help it. But
- 24:32Speaker 1: my boy, Tyler, did phenomenal last night. I've just been
- 24:35Speaker 1: waiting for Trista to get to this point. And for
- 24:39Speaker 1: those of you listening, you don't know that my producer, Heather,
- 24:42Speaker 1: is also on board with Tyler Cameron. And listen... He
- 24:48Speaker 1: did so great last night. I'm so proud of our guy.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I'm so proud of our guy. He danced well. Last
- 24:54Speaker 1: night was the first night that I saw him not
- 24:56Speaker 1: look like the Jolly Green Giant on the dance floor.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I can't... And then, oh my God, I know I
- 25:03Speaker 1: texted you this, but like, you guys... When he at
- 25:08Speaker 1: the end took his rose and went over to his fiance,
- 25:11Speaker 1: he's cheating on me, by the way, with his fiance
- 25:14Speaker 1: and gave her the red rose and kissed her, I
- 25:16Speaker 1: was like, swoon. I swoon and he's not even mine.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I don't even know this man. And I was like, oh.
- 25:23Speaker 1: He's just so dreamy. I want that. But last night
- 25:27Speaker 1: was the first time I really, truly saw the connection
- 25:30Speaker 1: between him and Shauna as well. I believed it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Shauna.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Yes. Shauna. Thank you. Thank you. No, it's all good.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I believed it too.
- 25:39Speaker 2: And I felt like it was a great dance. I
- 25:42Speaker 2: feel like when he gets in frame, like, I don't know,
- 25:45Speaker 2: it takes away from us staring at the pancake hands
- 25:48Speaker 2: and that sort of thing. So this dance was good
- 25:51Speaker 2: for him.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Tristan, when he started the dance and he grabbed her
- 25:54Speaker 1: chin and lifted her, that is like a dream for
- 25:57Speaker 1: a man to do that to me. When he did that,
- 25:58Speaker 1: I was like, that's it. 10, 10, 10, 10. He
- 26:01Speaker 1: gets 10s all around. Thank God Tyler Cameron is on
- 26:04Speaker 1: Dancing with the Stars.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I will say also, I, and I put this in
- 26:10Speaker 2: our group chat, I love seeing his emotions, like him
- 26:13Speaker 2: talk about how he lost his mom and sharing that.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I didn't love hearing him talk about that.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I loved that.
- 26:19Speaker 2: We got to see his emotional side. You know, he's
- 26:23Speaker 2: super silly and charismatic, but seeing him be vulnerable about
- 26:29Speaker 2: losing his mom was really heartwarming. And it just, it
- 26:35Speaker 2: brought me in more. I loved seeing Ari and Lauren
- 26:39Speaker 2: out there on the dance floor, not on the dance floor,
- 26:42Speaker 2: but in the audience and, And little note, me and
- 26:45Speaker 2: Blakeslee and three of her friends are going to be on.
- 26:49Speaker 1: We're going to the next episode. I'm sorry you didn't
- 26:52Speaker 1: invite your friend here. I'm only your co-host, Trista. Please
- 26:57Speaker 1: make all of my dreams come true and just take...
- 27:00Speaker 1: I just need one photo with Tyler Cameron. His fiance
- 27:03Speaker 1: can even be in the photo. She can stand in
- 27:06Speaker 1: the middle. How can you not take your girl?
- 27:10Speaker 2: I mean, maybe I'll write Dina today and see if
- 27:12Speaker 2: you can come.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Well, listen... Listen, I'm going to start like trimming my
- 27:17Speaker 1: hair and things. I mean the head up. Oh, my God.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I was like, wait, what? I'm flustered now. I mean
- 27:23Speaker 1: the hair on my head and find a cute dress
- 27:26Speaker 1: and like just fangirl so hard. Maybe it's best that
- 27:30Speaker 1: you don't bring me so that I don't embarrass your daughter. Oh,
- 27:36Speaker 1: my God.
- 27:37Speaker 2: No.
- 27:37Speaker 1: All right, Dina, right now once we get off and
- 27:40Speaker 1: see if you can come. Okay. Okay.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Maybe we can even get in the press line at
- 27:46Speaker 1: the end. Oh, my God. Trista. Trista. You are like.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Nick Vial has the Vial Files.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Susie Evans does like she's in the press line as
- 27:57Speaker 2: their podcast. You know, she has like a Vial Files
- 28:01Speaker 2: microphone in the press line.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Okay. Well, I see where our future is going here.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You call your people and I will call my people
- 28:09Speaker 1: and really like, I just need to get close to
- 28:12Speaker 1: like Tyler Cameron. If we could just go and I
- 28:16Speaker 1: could just take one for the team for all of
- 28:18Speaker 1: our listeners out there, you know, for all my girls
- 28:21Speaker 1: and just, you know, get a picture with Tyler. I
- 28:25Speaker 1: promise not to be weird or creepy in any way.
- 28:29Speaker 1: He's probably just a picture that we could use for
- 28:33Speaker 1: forever of me and Tyler Cameron. Because, you know, he's
- 28:38Speaker 1: just a phenomenal dancer.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the only thing you're thinking about. He
- 28:46Speaker 2: did a really great job. He got all sevens. And
- 28:49Speaker 2: I think at the beginning, like, Sharna was shocked.
- 28:53Speaker 1: She was like... What? Yay.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Like we're finally, we're finally here. We're getting solid sevens.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I thought he deserved it. I thought he, his frame
- 29:03Speaker 2: was amazing. The partnership was amazing.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 29:06Speaker 2: But we also have to bring this up because I
- 29:08Speaker 2: said it in the chat. And then Heather was like,
- 29:11Speaker 2: I think I heard that too.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Bruno called him Taylor. What is wrong with these people?
- 29:16Speaker 1: I don't know. This has happened multiple times now in
- 29:21Speaker 1: this season where they have mistakenly called him Taylor. Taylor
- 29:25Speaker 1: instead of Tyler.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Or Dylan. Taylor or Dylan. His name is Tyler. It's
- 29:31Speaker 2: not that hard. It's not that hard, people.
- 29:33Speaker 1: How could you confuse him with another? Give the man
- 29:38Speaker 1: his name. due respect. He got a 21 out of
- 29:42Speaker 1: 30 last night. His dance was amazing. Yeah, he did
- 29:46Speaker 1: a great job.
- 29:47Speaker 2: And I love that Carrie Ann said that his mom,
- 29:51Speaker 2: I'm sure, was proud of him, which that has to,
- 29:54Speaker 2: you know, be really sentimental to him, really important to him.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Okay, next up, Maura and Mark.
- 30:12Speaker 2: And I said in the chat, once again, she stuns
- 30:17Speaker 2: once again. She is such a beautiful dancer that was
- 30:22Speaker 2: not a dancer prior to, like, not even close to
- 30:25Speaker 2: a dancer prior to doing this show.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And she's such a beautiful dancer.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I'm going to say this until the very end of
- 30:31Speaker 2: the show, Dancing with the Stars. He is a phenomenal pro.
- 30:38Speaker 2: He can take anyone and shape them into the dancer
- 30:45Speaker 2: that he wants them to be on the dance floor.
- 30:47Speaker 2: And I think that is such a talent. If you
- 30:49Speaker 2: follow him on Instagram, yesterday he put out a video
- 30:54Speaker 2: because they had... A part in the routine where she
- 30:58Speaker 2: does like two pirouettes, like two.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Turns into like, you know, like she puts her arm out.
- 31:05Speaker 2: And they showed like the progress of kind of how
- 31:09Speaker 2: she started, you know, in the exact same spot. They
- 31:12Speaker 2: just did it over and over and over again. And
- 31:15Speaker 2: his patience with her, he just seems like such a
- 31:20Speaker 2: wonderful teacher. And I have to give him props for that.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I mean, she is an amazing dancer. She got the
- 31:27Speaker 2: first nine of the season, which I actually felt like
- 31:30Speaker 2: Jenna should have gotten the first nine for her dance earlier.
- 31:32Speaker 1: No, I'm going to disagree with you. I'm sorry to
- 31:34Speaker 1: interrupt you. I'm going to disagree.
- 31:36Speaker 2: No, it's all good.
- 31:37Speaker 1: And I only disagree because Mara has no dance skill. Yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I'm sorry. No prior. Previer.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 31:46Speaker 1: She moves like an elegant dancer. dancer. Like when I
- 31:52Speaker 1: see her, she is just flawless on the dance floor.
- 31:56Speaker 1: And again, part of this is because of Mark and
- 31:59Speaker 1: their friendship and the trust that they have between each other.
- 32:02Speaker 1: But the way she moves on a dance floor, I
- 32:07Speaker 1: would dare to say that she is better than Jenna.
- 32:11Speaker 1: She looks more elegant. With her arms, and listen, these
- 32:16Speaker 1: are layman's terms here, the way her posture and she
- 32:20Speaker 1: holds her arms, she looks like she's been doing this
- 32:23Speaker 1: for 20 years. Her hands, I believe that she's a dancer.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I don't watch her as like one of the celebrities.
- 32:31Speaker 1: When she's on the dance floor and she and Mark
- 32:35Speaker 1: are doing their dance routine, I believe it. I would
- 32:39Speaker 1: bet that she has years and years and years of
- 32:42Speaker 1: experience dancing.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I will say that she, on the flip side, like
- 32:47Speaker 2: Jenna was given all these high-paced energetic dances for the
- 32:52Speaker 2: past few episodes. Maura has been given more dances that
- 32:58Speaker 2: are more serious and more elegant. She hasn't had the
- 33:05Speaker 2: like cha-chas and sambas and those sort of dances. And
- 33:09Speaker 2: I'm really looking forward to seeing her doing those dances.
- 33:13Speaker 2: dances because I feel like I want to see if
- 33:17Speaker 2: she's able to do as well in those dances as
- 33:21Speaker 2: Jenna did with the slow dances.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 33:25Speaker 2: So I want to see her ability in all genres
- 33:30Speaker 2: of ballroom because I think that'll show us a lot.
- 33:35Speaker 2: But I felt like she did deserve the nine. I
- 33:37Speaker 2: just felt like Jenna did amazing and I felt like
- 33:41Speaker 2: she deserved a nine also. But Mara and Mark just
- 33:45Speaker 2: constantly blow me away. She is a beautiful dancer and
- 33:49Speaker 2: he is an exceptional partner.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Well, listen, I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.
- 33:53Speaker 1: So shall the time come, Trista, I will say that
- 33:57Speaker 1: you are right and whatever. But for now, for now.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Mara is at the top of the list for me.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And I believe that she was very deserving for that
- 34:08Speaker 1: nine last night. And if you saw her at the
- 34:11Speaker 1: end when they were giving her scores, when she dropped
- 34:14Speaker 1: to the floor in pure shock, I loved that. That
- 34:17Speaker 1: brought tears to my eyes because I would, it's a
- 34:20Speaker 1: safe bet that they work really hard all week to
- 34:23Speaker 1: do these dances. They all seem to be enjoying it
- 34:27Speaker 1: and wanting to be there. I'm sure the paycheck is nice,
- 34:29Speaker 1: but like, I do feel like their hearts are in it.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And when she dropped to the floor, I seriously got
- 34:35Speaker 1: like tears in my eyes. I was like shocked at
- 34:36Speaker 1: myself because it felt very deserving.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Totally. She is genuinely excited about every single moment that
- 34:46Speaker 2: she gets to spend with him on Dancing with the Stars.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:49Speaker 2: You can feel it from her. And I think that's
- 34:52Speaker 2: what everyone loves to see. is someone who's appreciative of
- 34:55Speaker 2: the opportunity. And I think she is. And she's learning
- 34:59Speaker 2: so much. I could see her doing something professional after
- 35:04Speaker 2: the show, you know, for someone to hire her for
- 35:08Speaker 2: either Broadway or I don't know. I just, I can
- 35:11Speaker 2: see her doing something after the show.
- 35:13Speaker 1: She's that good.
- 35:14Speaker 2: And I will say, like I have said, this has
- 35:15Speaker 2: not changed. I see her in the finale, for sure.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Her and Ezra are my two that they're definitely in
- 35:21Speaker 2: the finale. Harry and Jenna, I feel like they are
- 35:24Speaker 2: both so talented that they have the talent to be
- 35:29Speaker 2: in the finale. But I just wonder about the connection
- 35:33Speaker 2: of them with people who are voting from home.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Could you clarify something for me since I've not watched
- 35:40Speaker 1: a full season before? By the time we get to
- 35:43Speaker 1: the finale, is it just two? No.
- 35:46Speaker 2: It is, I think, three, maybe four people in the finale.
- 35:50Speaker 2: They cut it down within the finale, and they end
- 35:53Speaker 2: up with two. And then there's two people standing on
- 35:58Speaker 2: either side of Alfonso and Julianne, usually. And then they
- 36:02Speaker 2: announce the winner from those two. So there will be
- 36:06Speaker 2: two in the finale, but I believe they start the
- 36:09Speaker 2: finale show with either three or four.
- 36:11Speaker 1: It'll depend.
- 36:12Speaker 2: And I don't know that that doesn't change from season
- 36:17Speaker 2: to season, depending on who they have. But I don't
- 36:20Speaker 2: know that there's a specific format. You can correct me
- 36:22Speaker 2: if I'm wrong, Heather. But I feel like there's definitely
- 36:26Speaker 2: at least three in the finale, if not four, and
- 36:30Speaker 2: then two at the end. Yeah. Okay.
- 36:33Speaker 1: All right, thanks for the clarification. So, and obviously, I
- 36:36Speaker 1: don't know that.
- 36:38Speaker 2: I'm not the expert on their format, but maybe we'll
- 36:42Speaker 2: get an answer before we finish the show. Okay, so
- 36:45Speaker 2: Guillermo and Whitney were on, and he continues to be
- 36:50Speaker 2: given the opportunity. I do feel like he's appreciative of
- 36:53Speaker 2: the opportunity, so I love to see that. But we
- 36:57Speaker 2: said last week it was his time to go, and
- 36:59Speaker 2: he's still... After this number, he got two fours and
- 37:03Speaker 2: a five. Whitney, you know, as she has been doing,
- 37:07Speaker 2: dances around him and is great about the choreography because
- 37:11Speaker 2: she knows dance is not his strong suit. So she's
- 37:14Speaker 2: going to have him do like the funny things, whatever.
- 37:18Speaker 2: But I feel like it's his time to go. It
- 37:21Speaker 2: probably was this week. He got a 13 out of 30.
- 37:24Speaker 2: 13 out of 30 was generous.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah. It was generous. You know what, this is, when
- 37:32Speaker 1: you compare him to the other people, the conversation that
- 37:35Speaker 1: you and I are having right now with the other
- 37:38Speaker 1: dancers on this show, the celebrities and their pros, it
- 37:42Speaker 1: is not comparison to me. It is, I am almost
- 37:45Speaker 1: like astounded that he is still on the show. And
- 37:50Speaker 1: it is nothing against him. He is joyful, happy, and free.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And that makes me so happy. But like I mentioned
- 37:55Speaker 1: this to you, that even on Instagram last week, I
- 37:58Speaker 1: was seeing some reels pop up where some of the
- 38:00Speaker 1: other you know, couples, is that what I call them?
- 38:03Speaker 1: The teams, they are doing fun reels where they are
- 38:07Speaker 1: dancing their heart out. And I'm thinking of one with
- 38:09Speaker 1: Val and Jenna in particular, and Guillermo's just standing in
- 38:13Speaker 1: the background, like not, he doesn't even like pop and lock.
- 38:16Speaker 1: He doesn't even try, you know, and they are dancing
- 38:18Speaker 1: their heart out. We are past the point that there
- 38:21Speaker 1: is even a piece of comparison here. Whitney danced last night.
- 38:26Speaker 1: He did not. And this is called Dancing with the Stars.
- 38:30Speaker 1: He should dance. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I agree. I
- 38:36Speaker 1: feel like, you know, like you said, nothing against him.
- 38:41Speaker 2: I love his joy and his gratitude for being there
- 38:45Speaker 2: and being included.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And I love Whitney.
- 38:48Speaker 2: She is a consummate pro as well.
- 38:51Speaker 1: She's one of my favorites.
- 38:52Speaker 2: But yeah, I feel like the show is getting more
- 38:57Speaker 2: and more serious.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 38:59Speaker 2: And I feel like we want to see more content.
- 39:04Speaker 2: We want to see more dancing.
- 39:06Speaker 1: So I'm going to take you back to our Instagram
- 39:09Speaker 1: post of last week. I love that people are writing
- 39:14Speaker 1: us and having discussions. And I read every comment. Is
- 39:21Speaker 1: it rigged? Is ABC keeping Guillermo on there just because
- 39:26Speaker 1: he's on a fellow ABC show? Is that why he
- 39:29Speaker 1: gets to stay? And I don't know if you got
- 39:31Speaker 1: a chance to read some of the comments, Trista, but
- 39:33Speaker 1: people were popping off about how, yeah, some people are
- 39:37Speaker 1: saying because they're getting paid by the network or that
- 39:39Speaker 1: it is rigged, that there is no, you know, there's
- 39:42Speaker 1: no real voting on the show. They're not really listening
- 39:45Speaker 1: to people. There was some real conversation going on on
- 39:49Speaker 1: our Instagram feed last week about And I have to
- 39:53Speaker 1: admit that I might now stand with the people. That
- 39:58Speaker 1: you think it's Rick. I don't know. I don't know
- 40:03Speaker 1: how he can stay. That's the thing. And I take
- 40:06Speaker 1: it back to what I just said to you. There
- 40:08Speaker 1: are people on that show last night that freaking danced. Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 1: And I still stand. He did not dance. Whitney danced. Yeah.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I saw her skill set last night. Yeah. He did
- 40:25Speaker 1: not move. He went from point A to point B
- 40:28Speaker 1: on the ballroom floor last night, and that was it.
- 40:30Speaker 1: There was not even like a shuffle to get to
- 40:33Speaker 1: point B. He moved from one point to another while
- 40:36Speaker 1: she danced around him. Yeah.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Okay. Here's, I'm going to say something. So Heather just
- 40:43Speaker 2: put this in our chat for Zoom. Hannah Brown posted
- 40:46Speaker 2: that she voted for Guillermo last night.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I don't understand. So.
- 40:50Speaker 2: That's why he's staying is there are people like Hannah
- 40:54Speaker 2: that are voting for him, even though he's getting the
- 40:57Speaker 2: lowest scores. There are people who are connected to him
- 41:01Speaker 2: because he's been on Jimmy Kimmel for how many years?
- 41:05Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 41:05Speaker 2: Like they're connected to him and his personality and.
- 41:09Speaker 1: And that he's funny.
- 41:11Speaker 2: The funny person is always someone that people want to
- 41:15Speaker 2: stay in this competition.
- 41:16Speaker 1: That doesn't make him a dancer. Yeah, but it doesn't matter.
- 41:19Speaker 1: It's like about who.
- 41:21Speaker 2: A lot of people have said this, that it's like
- 41:23Speaker 2: a popularity contest or whatever. And I think he's pretty popular.
- 41:26Speaker 2: So I feel like that's why he's sticking around. We'll
- 41:29Speaker 2: see if that continues past next week. But because, spoiler alert...
- 41:38Speaker 2: He makes it through to next week.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I can't. I'm so angry. I'm so angry. I can't.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I can't, Trista. I know. I've been holding it deep
- 41:48Speaker 1: down and I'm like choking on it here because I
- 41:53Speaker 1: am like genuinely upset.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I think like I'm fine with it because I feel
- 41:59Speaker 2: like he's funny. He's, I like to, I like hearing
- 42:03Speaker 2: about his story and the fact that he said that
- 42:06Speaker 2: he like wakes up and he's like, you know, that's
- 42:09Speaker 2: all you dream about. I mean, when you do something
- 42:13Speaker 2: all day long, that's all you think about, even when
- 42:15Speaker 2: you're dreaming. So I feel like, you know, it's in
- 42:19Speaker 2: him now that he is focused on trying to learn
- 42:23Speaker 2: and trying to be better. And I give that up
- 42:27Speaker 2: to him. I feel like people love it for whatever
- 42:31Speaker 2: reason that they're voting, they're voting, and we'll see if
- 42:34Speaker 2: they vote next week.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Let me say... Last thing and we can move on.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I am not discounting that he seems very happy to
- 42:43Speaker 1: be there.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:44Speaker 1: That he is likely trying. You know, that the showmanship
- 42:47Speaker 1: is still a factor. I'm not discounting any of that.
- 42:50Speaker 1: But here we are, five episodes in, and when we
- 42:55Speaker 1: see people dancing their hearts out like Jenna, Ezra, Harry,
- 43:01Speaker 1: even Sierra at the top of the show. Even my
- 43:04Speaker 1: boy Tyler. Yeah. Yeah. In comparison, this is a dance
- 43:10Speaker 1: competition show. Yeah. So that's just where I'm at. You
- 43:14Speaker 1: asked me to dive in and get attached and girl,
- 43:16Speaker 1: I'm attached. I know. So if we are, if I
- 43:19Speaker 1: am not discounting the fact that he is a joy
- 43:22Speaker 1: to watch on the screen and I love Jimmy Kimmel
- 43:24Speaker 1: and I love him on Jimmy Kimmel. I love his personality.
- 43:27Speaker 1: That aside. Yeah. Isn't it a dancing competition show? Yeah,
- 43:32Speaker 1: I know it is. So you, you should probably dance.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I agree. I agree. I'm right there with you.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I just am pointing out that I think he's just
- 43:40Speaker 2: getting the votes from people who want to keep him
- 43:43Speaker 2: in the competition. They want to see his growth, you know,
- 43:47Speaker 2: and whether or not he's growing is something that people
- 43:51Speaker 2: can opine about or have their own opinion about.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Well, I can't wait to see what people have to
- 43:58Speaker 1: say on our social media this week. I really enjoyed
- 44:00Speaker 1: reading it all last week and I love the engagement.
- 44:03Speaker 1: I love knowing that people... are just as obsessed as me.
- 44:09Speaker 1: So keep commenting, you guys. Keep listening. Keep telling us
- 44:11Speaker 1: your thoughts because I'm with you. I'm with you. I
- 44:15Speaker 1: read them all. And I at least am happy to
- 44:17Speaker 1: know that I am not alone, Trista. Oh, definitely not.
- 44:21Speaker 1: There are millions of us, right? Okay.
- 44:25Speaker 2: So Jackson and Emma are next. It was his birthday.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Happy birthday to Jackson.
- 44:28Speaker 1: He's 19? Yeah. Yeah, right. No, he's not 19. I
- 44:33Speaker 1: got very confused. I was like, he's just a little baby.
- 44:36Speaker 1: And if he's 19, that means I was already graduated
- 44:40Speaker 1: and well into college by the time he was born.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I was very confused. There's no way. That has to
- 44:44Speaker 1: be a joke, right? They said he's 19. I feel
- 44:48Speaker 1: like it was a joke. He was just joking. Like,
- 44:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 44:52Speaker 2: If you're 19... That's how old Max is. He just
- 44:55Speaker 2: graduated from high school. I don't think he just graduated
- 44:58Speaker 2: from high school.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Okay. Our producer Heather is schooling us. He's 29. Thank God.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I'm not so creepy. I'm not as creepy as I thought.
- 45:05Speaker 1: I originally last night text the ladies and was like,
- 45:08Speaker 1: this is, I just feel dirty watching them. I just
- 45:11Speaker 1: feel dirty. You know what I mean? Okay. He's 29.
- 45:13Speaker 1: It's safe now. We're all safe. We can gawk and
- 45:17Speaker 1: fawn and whatever it looks like. So, um, You know,
- 45:20Speaker 1: his dance was interesting, and I know you have lots
- 45:25Speaker 1: of feels about it, Trista, because we were having a
- 45:27Speaker 1: whole side conversation. Sloppy, huh?
- 45:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I just thought it was a little sloppy. I mean,
- 45:35Speaker 2: here's a perfect example. The move where he's spinning Emma
- 45:42Speaker 2: around on the floor, like holding her hand, and then
- 45:45Speaker 2: he goes to pick her up and bring her to him.
- 45:49Speaker 2: And like half of her body, like you said, like breaks,
- 45:53Speaker 2: you know, her top half is against him.
- 45:54Speaker 1: There's no way that was a real dance move. There's
- 45:56Speaker 1: no way. She broke her back last night, y'all. I
- 45:58Speaker 1: don't know how she stood.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Up right after that. It was a real dance move.
- 46:01Speaker 2: It just wasn't executed properly. So either he didn't get
- 46:06Speaker 2: enough power bringing her to him or they were too
- 46:11Speaker 2: far apart or something happened. And I just felt like, yeah,
- 46:16Speaker 2: it can be one mistake, but I felt like there
- 46:18Speaker 2: were other, that was just one example of the sloppiness
- 46:20Speaker 2: that I felt like. Derek did say to fix his
- 46:24Speaker 2: hand placement because it's true. Like hands are so important
- 46:28Speaker 2: in dance as is every part of your body. But
- 46:31Speaker 2: I feel like I am most drawn to like hands
- 46:35Speaker 2: and feet and then appearance, you know, he, he loves
- 46:38Speaker 2: being there. I just, I wasn't, This wasn't my favorite
- 46:43Speaker 2: dance of the night. And he did get a 21
- 46:46Speaker 2: out of 30.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Which was another very generous score, Trista. Yeah. Yeah. I
- 46:52Speaker 1: thought so. I think it's two different dances what he's
- 46:54Speaker 1: doing when he's performing in a baseball stadium. You know,
- 46:57Speaker 1: he's doing cute TikTok dances and we don't need him
- 46:59Speaker 1: to be like on point and get tens, right? When
- 47:02Speaker 1: he's in the baseball stadium, he is, he's playing baseball.
- 47:05Speaker 1: And I am, listen, that takes a whole lot of
- 47:07Speaker 1: skill too, to be good at a sport and and
- 47:09Speaker 1: then perform and entertain at the same time. Those guys
- 47:12Speaker 1: must be so overstimulated and exhausted when they come off
- 47:16Speaker 1: of the baseball field. It is on my list. I've
- 47:18Speaker 1: told you this. I want to see a bananas baseball game.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I really want to do that. For me, it's not
- 47:26Speaker 1: translating to the dance floor. And I cannot with Emma.
- 47:30Speaker 1: I hope she's okay today. I hope that she can
- 47:32Speaker 1: walk and she doesn't need like a chiropractor because I
- 47:36Speaker 1: was really shocked by that move last night, the way
- 47:40Speaker 1: she bent in half backwards. I thought there's no way
- 47:43Speaker 1: this is a legit dance move. There's no way this
- 47:46Speaker 1: is something that has a real name.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Right?
- 47:49Speaker 1: I mean, what do we call that? It is, it does.
- 47:51Speaker 2: They could, I bet they will do a parody of it.
- 47:54Speaker 2: If I were her, I would do a parody of
- 47:56Speaker 2: it or something on her Instagram because she's super, you know,
- 47:59Speaker 2: engaged in Instagram and TikTok. I bet they could show
- 48:03Speaker 2: how it's done perfectly. And they probably had it done
- 48:06Speaker 2: perfectly in rehearsals, but it just so happened that when
- 48:09Speaker 2: they performed it live, it just didn't, it wasn't executed properly.
- 48:13Speaker 2: So yeah, but I feel, I think you said it Perfectly.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Like it's not translating. It's just not, I don't know. I,
- 48:21Speaker 2: I'm just not as drawn in as I love Emma and,
- 48:26Speaker 2: and I want it. I, I still want to like
- 48:29Speaker 2: love their partnership and their dances, but I'm just not
- 48:34Speaker 2: as into their dances as I am with other people. Yeah. Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Um, Tatiana and Jan were up next and they
- 48:44Speaker 2: did a jazz routine just like Sierra in the beginning.
- 48:47Speaker 2: She did have a wig on. And at first I
- 48:50Speaker 2: kind of liked the bangs. I was like, maybe you
- 48:51Speaker 2: get the bangs, but Heather was saying that she wasn't
- 48:54Speaker 2: a huge fan. Um, uh, uh, you know, to each
- 48:57Speaker 2: their own, whatever. Um, I just, this one fell short
- 49:02Speaker 2: for me too, but I think it's because of the
- 49:04Speaker 2: jazz part of it. And maybe, maybe it's the jazz.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Maybe like if.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Another choreographer had choreographed it, that it would have been
- 49:11Speaker 2: more exciting, but I just felt like it was really,
- 49:14Speaker 2: it was slow.
- 49:16Speaker 1: It wasn't like, I felt like, I needed more. I
- 49:23Speaker 1: needed more.
- 49:24Speaker 2: It was not the transitions. I think Derek said the
- 49:28Speaker 2: transitions were wobbly and she is a great storyteller, but
- 49:32Speaker 2: the moves just.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Weren't hit very hard. It was soft. It wasn't, it
- 49:37Speaker 1: wasn't exciting to me. So here's what I found interesting
- 49:40Speaker 1: is that Carrie Ann said, you know, such a good
- 49:43Speaker 1: storyteller was what she said. It kind of missed for
- 49:46Speaker 1: me last night too. And what I said was, it
- 49:49Speaker 1: was like they were at a sock hop. Did you
- 49:51Speaker 1: ever go to a sock hop in school? I haven't,
- 49:53Speaker 1: but I know what you're talking about. Okay. Well, my
- 49:55Speaker 1: middle school, that's what they did. It was just like
- 49:56Speaker 1: the middle school dance and you got to wear your
- 49:58Speaker 1: socks and you got to dance. That's like, that's what
- 50:02Speaker 1: it felt like to me last night. It felt very juvenile.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I did not think like why couldn't we have just
- 50:07Speaker 1: had like traditional jazz and put them in like a
- 50:09Speaker 1: traditional jazz costume and have them perform that way like
- 50:15Speaker 1: the desks and the cutie like we're in high school
- 50:17Speaker 1: kind of thing just didn't quite fit for me the
- 50:20Speaker 1: whole thing the whole thing I and I'm not touching
- 50:24Speaker 1: on any other skill because I think she also has
- 50:26Speaker 1: improved a lot she has yeah yeah just the whole
- 50:29Speaker 1: thing didn't quite fit for me but she got a
- 50:30Speaker 1: very generous score too she got 20 out of 30. Yeah.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I mean, it was one of the lowest scores.
- 50:35Speaker 2: I think she was tied for third from the bottom
- 50:38Speaker 2: or something like that last night. So yeah, I mean,
- 50:41Speaker 2: I love seeing her improvement. I love that she's sharing
- 50:44Speaker 2: with people on Instagram about her body and how she
- 50:48Speaker 2: feels about her body and how people are relating to her.
- 50:52Speaker 2: So I love her vulnerability there. This dance just wasn't...
- 50:58Speaker 2: It just felt very amateur compared to all the other dances.
- 51:01Speaker 2: The other dances feel like professional, and hers felt very amateur.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, moving on. Connor and Riley.
- 51:08Speaker 2: So we were talking about how they were on the
- 51:11Speaker 2: couch in the beginning, and it was like, oh, should
- 51:13Speaker 2: I be watching this?
- 51:14Speaker 1: Because they are really young. I know. I legit was like,
- 51:19Speaker 1: I was like, are they in high school? Like they,
- 51:22Speaker 1: he was talking about like grinding and like, I get it.
- 51:26Speaker 1: You know what I mean? When you're like 14 and
- 51:29Speaker 1: the first time you touch a girl's butt, you know
- 51:31Speaker 1: what I mean? And then when he stood up and
- 51:33Speaker 1: showed her how he was grinding, I was like, unnecessary, unnecessary.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 51:39Speaker 2: It was interesting that they chose that to be part
- 51:41Speaker 2: of their package, to be quite honest, because I, you know,
- 51:44Speaker 2: I think it was brought up. Riley, was that something
- 51:47Speaker 2: you did back in Utah? I think she's a Mormon.
- 51:51Speaker 2: She's like, no, I've never had a boy do that
- 51:53Speaker 2: to me before ever.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I mean, the whole thing just felt like a little
- 51:57Speaker 1: filthy to me, like them on the couch together. It
- 52:00Speaker 1: was also like oddly rehearsed for me.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:06Speaker 2: And then you flash forward to after they finished their
- 52:08Speaker 2: dance and We get them, you know, they're being interviewed
- 52:12Speaker 2: by Julianne and Julianne's like, okay, like, can you do
- 52:15Speaker 2: the body roll or the grinding or whatever she called it?
- 52:18Speaker 2: And like, Riley was like, I'm not even going to
- 52:20Speaker 2: do this with you. And then she started to, and
- 52:23Speaker 2: everyone is like dying laughing.
- 52:25Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, these poor kids. These poor kids. That's
- 52:28Speaker 1: what you said. So that was my thoughts. Exactly, Trista.
- 52:32Speaker 1: These poor kids. Kids. Right? They have done really well
- 52:39Speaker 1: in the competition so far. But last night was the
- 52:41Speaker 1: first time that I really saw the age difference between
- 52:44Speaker 1: them and some of the other kids. uh teams on
- 52:47Speaker 1: the show you know what i mean like poor kids
- 52:50Speaker 1: these poor kids.
- 52:52Speaker 2: She is beautiful and a gorgeous dancer i felt very
- 52:57Speaker 2: similar to guillermo and whitney last night connor and riley
- 53:01Speaker 2: it seemed like riley was just dancing around him like
- 53:04Speaker 2: he wasn't like doing a lot he wasn't like a
- 53:06Speaker 2: leading man even though they talked about how he needed
- 53:09Speaker 2: to be a leading man was he feeling more of
- 53:11Speaker 2: the leading man and i was like know that I
- 53:14Speaker 2: saw the leading man come out there, but you know,
- 53:16Speaker 2: I'm not on the judges.
- 53:18Speaker 1: They talked a lot about his hands too. And I
- 53:20Speaker 1: know that I know nothing about technique, but I did
- 53:22Speaker 1: see that. So, you know, maybe I'm becoming a professional
- 53:25Speaker 1: now that I'm commenting on Dancing with the Stars, but
- 53:27Speaker 1: I did see it several times. And I know that
- 53:30Speaker 1: you notice it every single time. But with him in particular,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I did see his hands. There were several turns where
- 53:35Speaker 1: like his hand was just like there. It was just
- 53:37Speaker 1: like there, not doing anything. A way of Carrie Ann say,
- 53:40Speaker 1: I think she called it dead hands, right? Dead hands.
- 53:42Speaker 2: And he needs to have energy in his hand. Like
- 53:46Speaker 2: it has to be throughout your body. And I think
- 53:49Speaker 2: she was right. She's right dead on with a dead hand.
- 53:53Speaker 2: They even showed like a clip of him with his
- 53:56Speaker 2: hand kind of on his hip while his other hand
- 53:59Speaker 2: was doing the movement with her.
- 54:01Speaker 1: And she was completely spot on. Can I just tell
- 54:05Speaker 1: you before we move on that our producer, Heather, just
- 54:08Speaker 1: schooled us. He is far from a kid. He is
- 54:10Speaker 1: 31 years old, Trista. So maybe we're not so filthy.
- 54:17Speaker 1: He is far, far from a kid. He's 31, okay?
- 54:22Speaker 1: He's 31. Okay, Connor. Fine. Grind away, my friend. Grind away. 53-year-old. Okay,
- 54:38Speaker 1: we're moving on to Julia and Ezra. And, you know,
- 54:42Speaker 1: I have been team Julia since the beginning of the season.
- 54:46Speaker 1: And I will hate to even say it out loud, Trista. Oh, no.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 54:52Speaker 1: This is where she kind of slipped for me last night,
- 54:55Speaker 1: you know, and I love her. I love a redeeming story.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I love that she is coming out here and she
- 55:02Speaker 1: is being honest and she is showing, you know, that
- 55:04Speaker 1: softer side of herself as an actress and doing Dancing
- 55:07Speaker 1: with the Stars. But yeah, she's another one for me
- 55:11Speaker 1: that it just didn't line up last night. I don't
- 55:14Speaker 1: know what you think.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's the same for me. It's been
- 55:19Speaker 2: that way. In previous episodes where I love her, I
- 55:23Speaker 2: love their partnership. I just am not fully engaged when
- 55:27Speaker 2: I'm watching their routines. She did get a good score,
- 55:31Speaker 2: at least compared to like Connor and Guillermo and Tatiana.
- 55:36Speaker 1: She got a 21 out of 30. So three sevens.
- 55:39Speaker 2: I hate, I can relate to her so much in
- 55:43Speaker 2: terms of like the negative thoughts that she, that pop
- 55:46Speaker 2: in her head. And I'm glad that she's sharing that.
- 55:49Speaker 2: And so that we all can relate to her because- Human.
- 55:54Speaker 1: How can you? Human.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:55Speaker 1: She's showing us that she's human. Right. And I love-
- 55:59Speaker 1: love that.
- 56:00Speaker 2: I love being able to feel like I'm not alone
- 56:03Speaker 2: because other people are talking about what I struggle with.
- 56:06Speaker 1: So I love that she's sharing that.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Um, but I just feel like, um, I don't know
- 56:12Speaker 2: if it's the pro cause I think Ezra is amazing,
- 56:16Speaker 2: but like when you compare Maura and Mark to Julia
- 56:21Speaker 2: and Ezra, like whether Mark is just an like the
- 56:26Speaker 2: perfect pro and he can bring anything out of anyone
- 56:30Speaker 2: or if mara just had this technique in like pushed
- 56:35Speaker 2: down so far that she could only have it brought
- 56:37Speaker 2: out by him or if it's just like julia's ability
- 56:42Speaker 2: compared to mara's i don't know but i'm just when
- 56:45Speaker 2: we compare which is what we're doing essentially on this
- 56:48Speaker 2: show by giving um you know marks for their judging
- 56:54Speaker 2: i feel like Yeah.
- 56:56Speaker 1: I don't know how much longer she'll be around.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I think there's the other part of the show where
- 57:01Speaker 1: like I, whatever, I've said it several times. People are
- 57:05Speaker 1: improving and I am seeing improvement. And when you have
- 57:08Speaker 1: a night like last night where you see several exceptional dances,
- 57:14Speaker 1: if you aren't on that level at this point, you
- 57:18Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 57:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:22Speaker 2: All right, last but certainly not least is Amber and Pasha. And, yeah,
- 57:29Speaker 2: I love that the skating community is kind of rallying
- 57:31Speaker 2: around her, that they loved her dance from last week.
- 57:34Speaker 1: She danced to Hero, which is one of, like, the
- 57:36Speaker 1: all-time favorite. I know, weren't you just like, when a
- 57:39Speaker 1: hero comes along? I was like, oh. So good. Love, love, love.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Such a good song.
- 57:45Speaker 2: I felt like she got great scores. She got two
- 57:48Speaker 2: eights and a seven. I felt like you, and the
- 57:51Speaker 2: way I described it on our chat last night is
- 57:53Speaker 2: you could see her thinking about what's coming next. And
- 57:57Speaker 2: I don't want to see someone thinking about what's coming next.
- 58:00Speaker 2: I just want to see what's coming next.
- 58:02Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 58:02Speaker 2: I felt like you could, especially when she was preparing
- 58:05Speaker 2: for when she, like her head was down and her
- 58:09Speaker 2: foot was like.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Straight up in the air. A very interesting move, I'll
- 58:14Speaker 1: have you know. It breaks it up. Like, it's like,
- 58:17Speaker 1: it doesn't, there's no flow.
- 58:18Speaker 2: There's no transition. Like, her transition, she was just standing there.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Right, and she had to take a beat to kind
- 58:23Speaker 1: of catch her balance before she was able to pull.
- 58:26Speaker 1: It was... I don't think I could do that, Trista. Well,
- 58:30Speaker 1: definitely no. I mean, maybe I'll try it after we
- 58:33Speaker 1: hang up on the wall here in my living room, but...
- 58:36Speaker 1: Please don't. Please don't. We don't want to have the ambulance.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Her skill, right? Her skill, her flexibility, her... I didn't
- 58:45Speaker 1: like how at the end of the dance, it was
- 58:47Speaker 1: this whole setup... Yeah. There were several beats where I
- 58:51Speaker 1: was like, is something wrong? Right. And then she pulled
- 58:55Speaker 1: the elegant move, which is not something that I have seen.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Just why? I know.
- 59:03Speaker 2: I know. And even when she pushed out, he was
- 59:12Speaker 2: holding her while she was leaning outward.
- 59:16Speaker 1: It was a little stumble. And it just wasn't pretty
- 59:19Speaker 1: to me. I don't know.
- 59:20Speaker 2: And I'm looking for pretty when I see the girls dancing.
- 59:26Speaker 2: these slower ballroom genres. Like, I don't know. I, I
- 59:30Speaker 2: really do like her, but I, this dance, like I want,
- 59:35Speaker 2: I don't want to see you thinking about it.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I want to just see you dance. So I noticed
- 59:39Speaker 1: that Carrie Ann said she wants to see more connection
- 59:43Speaker 1: between the two of them. And I would say that
- 59:46Speaker 1: is lacking for me, especially when we see it so
- 59:48Speaker 1: apparently in people like Mara and Mark and Tyler and,
- 59:52Speaker 1: and Sharna. Yeah. Yeah. Theirs is not apparent to me.
- 59:57Speaker 1: And maybe that is, she has said from the get-go
- 59:59Speaker 1: when she is on the, on the ice skating rink,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: like she's all by herself. She doesn't have to worry
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: about a team teammate to perform with or making that connection.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: She is used to doing things on her own. And
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I think that is apparent in her dancing too, because
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I don't really see, you know, the connection and the
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: chemistry between the two of them. Like I see it
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: in other members on the show. And so, yeah, it'll
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: be interesting to see how far she goes, you know?
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: And I'm glad you kind of prepped me for Dancing
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: with the Stars in our first episode because I am
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: seeing the growth and the progress in their skill and
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: their skill set and the dancing and the, you know,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: the higher scores and everything else. I'm seeing the way
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: the show progresses and And I think I'm able to
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: kind of see where I'm not so sure some of
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: these other celebrities will be able to to show up. Yeah, no,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: I agree.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: So top of the leaderboard last night was Maura and Mark,
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Ezra and Danny and Harry and Jenna.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Not shocking.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: And then the bottom was Tatiana, Connor and Guillermo. I mean,
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I said, spoiler alert, Guillermo didn't go home, even though
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: we were thinking he was going to go home. And shockingly,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: if you turn on Instagram and you follow anyone from
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars, you will see reels pop up
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: where people are.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Just shocked that Ciara went home. I am right there
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: with you. You know what I mean? I honestly was
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: kind of mad because we're at this point, I've said
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: it again, we're at this point in the show where
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: we need to see some real skill. And when you
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: think about the two of them together, Guillermo, I'm sorry,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Guillermo and Sierra, the skill that was shown last night
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: is on another level between the two of them. I
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: don't believe that Sierra deserved to go home. And what
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: we are doing is a competition show, right? It is
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: dancing with the stars. Yeah. She danced. Guillermo did not. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm alone here, if I should
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: be leaning more into his sportsmanship and his attitude and
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: how he's just out there having a lot of fun.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: But I feel like she worked really hard. She showed
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: up every week. She improved. And I don't agree with this.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I don't agree with this. Maybe people will call in
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: 8445 almost and let us know if you agree. I
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: honestly was kind of upset, Trista. Yeah.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: No, I think a lot of people share that. that
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: sentiment that she shouldn't have gone home. I think she
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: definitely shares that sentiment.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: I think that that's probably, you know, last week we
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: were talking about when Britt and, or maybe it was
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: the week before when Britt and Taylor left and why
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: were people crowding around Britt and what were they saying?
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: And I think they were just offering up sympathies, but
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I also feel like there's probably a lot going on
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: in the ballroom where people are probably like, shocked that
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Guillermo isn't going home.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I'm sure Guillermo is shocked that he hasn't gone home,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: you know? Yeah. I wonder what the conversation was between
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: him and Sierra last night. Was he like, dude, I
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: am so sorry? Or was he just like, yeah, man,
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I'm here. Jimmy, I'm here another night. Like, can you
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: believe it? You know? I'm sure he is.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: And he has nothing to do with the fact that
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Sierra is going home. You know, they're all just waiting
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: to hear their fate. But it comes down to votes.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: So people have to vote. And I think, like I said,
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Guillermo has this fan base of a.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Really long time on Jimmy Kimmel.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: I don't know how long he's been on, but he's
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: been on that show for a long time as his sidekick.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: And people connect to him because of that show and
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Sierra is like new to not new exactly to the
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: scene but I think maybe people aren't just aren't voting
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: for they weren't voting for her they were either voting
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: for Connor or they were voting for Maura or you
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: know whoever they were voting for they weren't voting for
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: her so I feel like it just proves that people
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: have to.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Vote yeah I don't think that I could suffer through
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: another one of these like terrible eliminations Yeah.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like it'll be interesting to see what
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: happens in the ballroom this week. And if the votes finally,
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: the votes finally align with what.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: The judges are giving them for their votes.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: You know, like it's not just the judges votes, it's
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: the votes from the people at home. So even if
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: someone gets a 13 out of 30, like Guillermo did
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: last week or this last, last night, um, People are
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: voting for him.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: So you just got to vote. Okay. Get out there
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: and vote, people. Get out there and vote, people. For Taylor.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Get out there and vote for Taylor. You almost called
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: him Taylor. I know. I'm just as bad as our judges.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I cannot be trusted. I cannot be trusted. Oh man, Trista,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: this is, I am like really, really enjoying doing this
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: with you. And I am enjoying watching Dancing with the
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Stars and learning so much about this show and about
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: dance and everything else. Thanks for taking me along for
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: the ride. It's so fun. I love it. I loved it.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: And I'm not taking you along for anything. It's Almost
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Famous that's taking us both. So thanks for having us, guys.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Thanks for listening. Please keep tuning in and we'll talk
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: at you next week.
