Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: So here's the deal.
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: I'm not trying to promote you to become a criminal or do criminal things.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: This is more like that fantasy thinking that you have to except for the thing.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because being even around somebody who steals, I'm like, mm-mm.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: No, I don't want I don't want anything to do with that.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: But ple yeah, exactly.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I don't want guilt by association or or be guilty by association.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: But this guy in in Florida, he goes into a TJ Maxx clean's house, luggage, uh, Michael Kors sandals, uh oh, the list went on and on.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: Seven, what'd you say?
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: $728 worth of stuff?
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Just about$800 worth, yeah.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Which uh so they got him.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: The cops got him and this and that.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: But then it brought up an interesting question.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: It actually brought up two interesting questions.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: One was with the love affair that women have with TJ Maxx, can you name, is it the experience of going in and wandering, or can you name one thing that you know all in the fantasy world that we'd be living in that you just steal right away?
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: And that's the harder question because My perfume would fit really easily in my bra.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, I mean, there's that.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: But also, am I not right?
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: That's a let's go in and wander store.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, it is.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: It's uh it's comfort shopping.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: You don't some okay, you know what?
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: There are times you go to TJ Maxx when you need a pot or a pan, and you're like, I'm going here, or I'm going to Home Goods because, well, quite frankly, I don't want the Walmart experience, but I know it's some quality, but yet I know where it is, you know?
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: And I want a false-smelling candle and a scrub daddy.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that happens too.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: So I'm finding it more difficult to name for people to name the one thing at TJ Maxx they would, well, basically, you know, sticky fingers out with.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: I'm surprised.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Uh well in my fantasy world, yeah, I can name something.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: You were able to name the perfume, and and again, all fantasy world, you were able to name the perfume.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: But again, being a wandering store, it's not built like that.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: You know, you're where you're like, I'm going in to steal that television from Walmart.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: It's telling me what to buy.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Speaking of Walmart, what?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: A friend of mine, he was the slickest clepto I have ever met.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Um, one day he tells me, he's like, I need a ride to Walmart.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, fine, that's that's cool.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Just don't steal anything, okay?
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm going in.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: He goes, Well, I just I can stay in the car.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna be down here.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And then like two minutes later, like the gas station.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: I'm like, all right.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: So we have two bottles on the inside of his hand.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: And then he pulled out two more bottles somehow.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know where, but altogether had six bottles of liquor in his hand.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: His pants must have been good haul.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: At his knees.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Liquor is a very heavy bottle.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know how he did it, but was it the like the Mr.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Boston's and it's the the flask-size ones?
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the only alcoholics drink.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: And three, two, one.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: You're listening to Scott and Allie.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Scott and Allie's big three.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: Alcoholics drink or steal.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: The big three brought to you by E and V Energy.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: We're getting to that point.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, it is now, you're at the you're at the the starting line here of fueling your home for the summer.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: They have kerosene, propane, uh, fuel oil.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Give them a call at ENV Energy where they can deliver no delivery charges, and you'll talk to a real person.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: A 15-year-old girl will remain in custody after being charged with first-degree murder.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: She pushed a 29-year-old guy from a moving Chicago red line.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: He was just returning home from his job, died after hitting the third rail, and struck by another train.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: Police believe three people were involved.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: No other arrests have been made.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Have you ever seen the story about the person who got um they got saved from somebody who like jumped down?
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: But that's super risky to do.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, and very hard.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Because of all the electrons.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: That happened in New York City, actually.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And France's hottest summer is really hitting winemakers, well, right in the grapes.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: It's harder to produce champagne that has these really strict classifications and guidelines.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: So officials are actually making an exception this year because of this very hot summer, allowing the drink to have a higher alcohol content.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: In other words, boozy brunch just got boozier.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say you got a little more booze in that champagne.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: And for the first time since July, the Federal Reserve will meet tomorrow to discuss interest rates and announce its decision Wednesday.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you, it's not gonna change.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: Most analysts expect a rate hike.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Oh God, are you serious?
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: Yes, after there's been some high inflation.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: My mortgage is going up.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: We're going into heating season.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Wait, wait, and one other thing.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Groceries aren't cheap.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Did you see gas prices?
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Oh God, they're this morning.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: I passed a gas station and it was$4.25.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: Cost me$52 to fill up a hybrid yesterday, people.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: I am so glad.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's usually what it costs me to fill up my little four-door sedan.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I usually or I I'm glad that I bought that plane ticket, and I said that last week too.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: I'm like, something tells me that things are gonna start going up, and I'm so glad.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: Hey, on the bright side, we all might get five thousand dollar checks worth.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: Sorry, well I want to talk about that in the next big three.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: So be here in an hour and we'll talk about the five thousand dollar payments.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Okay.
