- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, February 6th.
- 0:11Wisdom that stands out. Have you ever met someone who
- 0:14didn't have to announce themselves, didn't have to
- 0:17dominate the room, yet somehow their presence was impossible to
- 0:21ignore? They weren't loud or flashy, but
- 0:24there was something solid about them, something steady,
- 0:27something different. That's the kind of wisdom
- 0:30Scripture talks about today, the kind that doesn't shout for
- 0:33attention but quietly stands out because of how it lives.
- 0:38Proverbs chapter 10, verse 8 says the wise of heart will
- 0:41receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
- 0:45Wisdom starts with humility. It listens.
- 0:48It receives instruction. It doesn't rush to talk just to
- 0:52be heard. Foolishness, on the other hand,
- 0:54keeps talking, keeps reacting, keeps pushing its own way, and
- 0:58eventually trips over its own words.
- 1:01In a culture that rewards opinions and constant
- 1:03commentary, wisdom looks like slowing down and letting God
- 1:07shape your responses. Psalm 15 gives us a picture of
- 1:11what that wisdom looks like in everyday life.
- 1:15It talks about someone who doesn't slander with their
- 1:17tongue, who doesn't do evil to their neighbor, who refuses to
- 1:21tear down a friend. This kind of wisdom shows up in
- 1:25conversations, group chats, jokes that never get told, and
- 1:29rumors that never get repeated. It's integrity in how you treat
- 1:33people when it would be easier to blend in and go along.
- 1:37Then we see wisdom lived out in Acts chapter 6 through the life
- 1:41of Stephen. Acts chapter 6 verse 8 says that
- 1:44Stephen was full of grace and power, doing great wonders and
- 1:48signs among the people. What's striking is that Stephen
- 1:52wasn't chosen because he was the loudest or most impressive
- 1:55speaker. He was chosen because of his
- 1:57character, his faith, and his closeness to God.
- 2:02His wisdom wasn't just something he knew, it was something he
- 2:04lived. Grace flowed from him, power
- 2:07followed him. His life backed up his faith.
- 2:10This matters so much for us because real wisdom isn't proven
- 2:14by how much scripture you can quote or how strong your
- 2:17opinions are. It's proven by how you listen,
- 2:20how you speak, how you treat people, and how you stand firm
- 2:24when pressure comes. Wisdom stands out when you
- 2:27choose kindness over sarcasm, truth over gossip, obedience
- 2:31over impulse, and humility over pride.
- 2:34You don't have to be the loudest voice in the room to make an
- 2:36impact. When you stay close to Jesus,
- 2:40when you let His Word shape your heart, your life begins to speak
- 2:43for itself. And just like Steven, people may
- 2:47not always understand where your confidence comes from, but
- 2:50they'll notice the grace, the courage, and the power that flow
- 2:53from a life rooted in God. Let's pray.
- 2:57Heavenly Father, thank you for showing me that true wisdom
- 3:00begins with listening to you. Teach me to receive Your Word
- 3:03with a humble heart and to let it guide how I speak and how I
- 3:07treat others. Guard my tongue, strengthen my
- 3:10character and help me to live with integrity.
- 3:13Fill me with grace and courage like Stephen so that my life
- 3:17reflects your truth and love wherever I go in Jesus name,
- 3:21Amen. What if the way you pray changed
- 3:24because you truly knew who God is?

- 4:48heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.
- 4:51Psalm chapter 15 World English Bible a Psalm by David Yahweh,
- 4:56who shall dwell in your sanctuary, who shall live on
- 4:59your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and
- 5:01does what is right and speaks truth in his heart.
- 5:04He who doesn't slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his
- 5:07friend, nor cast slurs against his fellow man, in whose eyes a
- 5:11vile man is despised, but who honors those who fear Yahweh.
- 5:15He who keeps an oath even when it hurts and doesn't change, He
- 5:19who doesn't lend out his money for usury, nor take a bribe
- 5:22against the innocent, He who does these things shall never be
- 5:25shaken. Acts chapter 6 World English
- 5:28Bible Now in those days when the number of the disciples was
- 5:32multiplying, A complaint arose from the Hellenists against the
- 5:35Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily
- 5:38service. The 12 summoned the multitude of
- 5:41the disciples and said, It is not appropriate for us to
- 5:44forsake the Word of God and serve tables.
- 5:47Therefore select from among you brothers seven men of good
- 5:51report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may
- 5:54appoint over this business. But we will continue steadfastly
- 5:57in prayer and in the ministry of the Word.
- 6:00These words please the whole multitude.
- 6:03They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit,
- 6:06Philip, Procorus, Niconer, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a
- 6:10proselyte of Antioch, whom they set before the apostles.
- 6:14When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
- 6:16The word of God increased, and the number of the disciples
- 6:19greatly multiplied. In Jerusalem a great company of
- 6:22the priests were obedient to the faith.
- 6:25Stephen, full of faith and power, performed great wonders
- 6:28and signs among the people. But some of those who were of
- 6:31the synagogue, called the Libertines and of the Sirenians,
- 6:34of the Alexandrians and of those of Silesia and Asia, arose
- 6:38disputing with Stephen. They weren't able to withstand
- 6:41the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke.
- 6:44Then they secretly induced men to say, We have heard him speak
- 6:47blasphemous words against Moses and God.
- 6:50They stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and came
- 6:53against him and seized him, then brought him into the council and
- 6:57set up false witnesses, who said, This man never stops
- 7:00speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the
- 7:03law. For we have heard him say that
- 7:05this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and will
- 7:08change the customs which Moses delivered to us.
- 7:11All who sat in the council fastening their eyes on him saw
- 7:15his face like it was the face of an Angel.
