Latest / ACC Football Addiction (Atlantic Coast Conference) / FSU Source EXPOSES Major PROBLEM in Seminoles vs Miami Hurricanes Game
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's get into, I I'm, you know, usually you eat
- 0:03Speaker 1: your vegetables first. That's what we're doing here today. Florida state,
- 0:06Speaker 1: Miami down in Miami gardens, uh, 7 PM on ESPN.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It is presented by prize picks this preview of canes
- 0:14Speaker 1: and Seminoles. I've talked about this game a ton already.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And so I don't, I don't know that I have
- 0:20Speaker 1: too much different to say. So I kind of want
- 0:22Speaker 1: to get your thoughts on it. And then I'm happy
- 0:25Speaker 1: to answer any questions you have from the Florida state
- 0:27Speaker 1: or Miami perspective. But I think people mostly know what
- 0:30Speaker 1: I think about this. But I want to hear what
- 0:32Speaker 1: you think, Cole.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Well, it's a bye week that you're coming off of
- 0:35Speaker 2: if you're Miami. So how do you respond following an
- 0:37Speaker 2: extra week of rest? And then if you're Florida State,
- 0:40Speaker 2: how do you make sure that that performance that you
- 0:41Speaker 2: had in the first quarter against Louisville can be sustainable
- 0:44Speaker 2: for three and a half quarters against Miami? Because bottom line,
- 0:48Speaker 2: I don't think Florida State is winning this one. I
- 0:49Speaker 2: don't think there is a shot in hell. Florida State
- 0:51Speaker 2: is winning this one the way that Miami is playing football.
- 0:53Speaker 2: But you can at least make it competitive if you
- 0:55Speaker 2: play the way that you did in that first half
- 0:57Speaker 2: against Louisville. Because remember, it was 14-0. Nearly was 21-0.
- 1:01Speaker 2: If you would have taken the points, it would have
- 1:03Speaker 2: been 17-0. But going forward on that fourth down, momentum
- 1:06Speaker 2: should be right in favor of Louisville from here on out.
- 1:09Speaker 2: They went on a 28-0 disadvantage. So for Miami at
- 1:12Speaker 2: this standpoint, can you kind of look at what was
- 1:14Speaker 2: the formula that didn't work early against Florida State in
- 1:19Speaker 2: that Louisville matchup to be able to go ahead and
- 1:21Speaker 2: set the tone? Number one. The rushing attack is just
- 1:24Speaker 2: going to have to be, I think, the bell cow
- 1:25Speaker 2: this game. I mean, Mark Fletcher Jr., when he's healthy,
- 1:27Speaker 2: he is the premier running back in the ACC. Arguably
- 1:30Speaker 2: the second, maybe he is the best running back. Nate Shepard,
- 1:32Speaker 2: I think, has a case for it. But bottom line,
- 1:35Speaker 2: last week we saw Isaac Brown, Lincoln Keenholz, and two
- 1:37Speaker 2: other guys run for over 350-plus yards and five touchdowns.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I mean, like, if you're giving up that many explosive plays,
- 1:45Speaker 2: Mark Fletcher Jr. should be able to have his way
- 1:47Speaker 2: with this Florida State defensive line. So how does Florida
- 1:49Speaker 2: State fill in the gaps? How does Florida State be
- 1:51Speaker 2: able to win defensively at the point of attack to
- 1:53Speaker 2: be able to take away the rushing game and kind
- 1:55Speaker 2: of force Darian Mensah to beat you through the air,
- 1:58Speaker 2: which I hate to be the bare bad news to
- 1:59Speaker 2: Tony White and company, that's actually probably the bread and
- 2:02Speaker 2: butter of what makes Miami such a lethal team is
- 2:04Speaker 2: the fact that Darian Mensah is as surgical as he
- 2:07Speaker 2: has been this season. He has, in my opinion, been
- 2:09Speaker 2: the second best quarterback in college football. Everything that he
- 2:11Speaker 2: does from his pre-snap motion, the call out of audibles,
- 2:16Speaker 2: the line of scrimmage, the consistency of being able to
- 2:18Speaker 2: go through a seven-step drawback, not really miss his target downfield.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It's elite-level stuff. That's what you're going to continue to see.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And doing so at Hard Rock, I think is another
- 2:30Speaker 2: major element toward the success. With the way the offense
- 2:33Speaker 2: is working, do maybe you have like that other receiver
- 2:35Speaker 2: that can step on up and be a difference maker?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Because we know what Tony can do. We know what
- 2:39Speaker 2: Barkay can do. Is this a game where maybe you
- 2:41Speaker 2: figure out, hey, Elijah Lofton's a lot better than what
- 2:43Speaker 2: we expected him to be because of he is just
- 2:45Speaker 2: consistently picking you apart on second down. Do you have
- 2:48Speaker 2: another wide receiver, whether it be one of the freshmen
- 2:50Speaker 2: or whether it be Van Jacobs, the South Carolina transfer?
- 2:53Speaker 2: that can just go ahead and win against the nickel
- 2:54Speaker 2: defense and really be able to put kind of like
- 2:57Speaker 2: a good consistent role of, hey, gain of 17, gain
- 3:00Speaker 2: of 18. And can you consistently win on third down
- 3:02Speaker 2: and maybe even kind of slow down the clock where
- 3:05Speaker 2: early on in the game, maybe you're able to go
- 3:07Speaker 2: ahead and strike and it's 14-0 affair. But let's take
- 3:10Speaker 2: it to your third drive. Maybe be methodical with it.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Burn seven to eight minutes off the clock. Because then
- 3:14Speaker 2: what you do is that you tire down that Florida
- 3:16Speaker 2: State defense in the way that your defense has been
- 3:18Speaker 2: playing at the line of scrimmage, in the secondary, open
- 3:21Speaker 2: field tackling, underneath Corey Heatherman. You can probably get a
- 3:24Speaker 2: three and out, and you can double the score simply
- 3:27Speaker 2: by getting Florida State back out there after tiring them.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So can you win with consistency on that standpoint? This
- 3:33Speaker 2: is really, I think, a game of where... If you're Miami,
- 3:37Speaker 2: you should feel mightily confident. You're healthier. You got a
- 3:40Speaker 2: bye week to be able to really kind of look
- 3:42Speaker 2: at the things you didn't like and it didn't really
- 3:44Speaker 2: matter because if you've been the most complete team in
- 3:46Speaker 2: the ACC and you'll be right back to, you know,
- 3:49Speaker 2: right back to being who you are. This is a
- 3:51Speaker 2: game I think more so that's important for the status
- 3:53Speaker 2: of Mike Norvell because bottom line is that he's probably
- 3:55Speaker 2: getting fired. It's just when does the athletic staff want
- 3:59Speaker 2: to pull the trigger? Is it enough to say in
- 4:01Speaker 2: this game, hey, they gashed us for 500 yards. We
- 4:03Speaker 2: scored 13 points. We had four turnovers. We weren't able
- 4:07Speaker 2: to run the football. The offensive line got blown back.
- 4:10Speaker 2: We can't keep doing this. Like, there still is a
- 4:12Speaker 2: pride factor of what we have. And I know that
- 4:15Speaker 2: we've gone 2-10 and 5-7 the last two years, but
- 4:17Speaker 2: watching the way this team has now kind of given
- 4:20Speaker 2: on up, which is a really big deal, how they
- 4:23Speaker 2: could give on up. If they do, what's the point
- 4:25Speaker 2: of waiting for the end of the season just to
- 4:27Speaker 2: go ahead and pull the plug on the Mike Norvell
- 4:28Speaker 2: experience that we know is already coming.
- 4:30Speaker 1: To an end? Yeah, I wonder how they play it, too,
- 4:34Speaker 1: because I've talked to a couple people about this already.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Sorry if you've seen me on other shows or listened
- 4:39Speaker 1: to shows, but I'll be a little repetitive here. In 2024,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I think they played this the right way. They knew
- 4:46Speaker 1: that they were significantly undermanned. And they played this in
- 4:50Speaker 1: a way to not get blown out. They were playing safeties.
- 4:53Speaker 1: My buddy Danny said they were playing safeties in the
- 4:55Speaker 1: parking lot to not let Cam Ward beat them. And
- 4:59Speaker 1: Miami's athletes won out. That was one of the ugliest
- 5:02Speaker 1: games I've ever seen in my entire life. Just boring,
- 5:04Speaker 1: ugly Miami, you know, Florida state said, we're not your,
- 5:08Speaker 1: your have 70 yards, a rush. We're fine with it,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but we're going to slow this game down and we
- 5:13Speaker 1: are not going to lose. They took all the time
- 5:14Speaker 1: off the play clock. They tried to limit possessions. They
- 5:18Speaker 1: played it the right way to try to have some
- 5:22Speaker 1: myriad of hope. And they held Miami down. It's the
- 5:25Speaker 1: only game that year that Cam Moore didn't have a
- 5:27Speaker 1: passing touchdown in. He ironically had a receiving touchdown in it.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And I thought they played that game stylistically the way
- 5:34Speaker 1: that you need to. Last year, they did the complete opposite.
- 5:36Speaker 1: They said, you are not going to run the ball
- 5:38Speaker 1: on us. Mark Fletcher is not going to beat us.
- 5:40Speaker 1: We're going to make Carson Beck beat us with his arm.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And he did. But I think that was the right
- 5:44Speaker 1: plan of attack. You certainly weren't going to stop the–
- 5:49Speaker 1: there was no reason to try and let Mark Fletcher
- 5:52Speaker 1: beat you. How do they play it this time? Because
- 5:55Speaker 1: I think there's a scenario where if you're Mike Norvell,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and I will say credit to Mike Norvell, they went
- 6:01Speaker 1: into Tuscaloosa and he tried to win that game. And
- 6:04Speaker 1: his team responded well. They played fairly well offensively. No,
- 6:08Speaker 1: really well offensively. And they were competitive, and I was
- 6:12Speaker 1: happy that they didn't go play that game to not
- 6:14Speaker 1: get blown out. I probably would have preferred them to
- 6:17Speaker 1: get blown out, knowing all things that we know now.
- 6:19Speaker 1: But I like that he went and tried to take
- 6:21Speaker 1: the game. I'll get right back to chatting with Cole
- 6:24Speaker 1: on the Power 2, but first I want to give
- 6:25Speaker 1: some love to PrizePix. Go check out the PrizePix app.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Use our code HMA. You'll get $ 150 in lineups instantly
- 6:31Speaker 1: if you win your first $ 5 lineup. using that code.
- 6:36Speaker 1: We picked some of the things on the screen. In fact,
- 6:37Speaker 1: on our live show, we picked all of the things
- 6:39Speaker 1: on the screen. I'll give you a little preview, but
- 6:41Speaker 1: you got to go check out the live show to
- 6:42Speaker 1: get all of our picks. We like Jeremiah Smith to
- 6:45Speaker 1: score a touchdown. We like the less on Hoover's fantasy score.
- 6:50Speaker 1: That's all you're getting for today. Go check out the
- 6:52Speaker 1: live show to get the rest of our picks. Get
- 6:55Speaker 1: on the price picks app, set your own lineup, $ 5,
- 6:58Speaker 1: use code HMA, win that, get $ 150 in lineups instantly.
- 7:01Speaker 1: We appreciate price picks for their support. There's a scenario
- 7:04Speaker 1: where you lose this game respectively and you coach the
- 7:08Speaker 1: next week or in two weeks when Clemson comes to town,
- 7:11Speaker 1: there's a scenario where you get blown out in this
- 7:13Speaker 1: game and you are no longer the coach at Florida state.
- 7:16Speaker 1: And so are you going to go for it? Because
- 7:19Speaker 1: I don't think, I don't think Florida state has a very,
- 7:24Speaker 1: the path is very, very narrow for them to win
- 7:26Speaker 1: this game. And I think that if Florida state played
- 7:28Speaker 1: their a plus game, it would still take Miami doing
- 7:32Speaker 1: some things. that allow you to win it. I don't
- 7:35Speaker 1: know that Florida State, just athlete-wise, can match up with Miami,
- 7:39Speaker 1: even if they play their very best.
- 7:41Speaker 2: This isn't a game that you're saying, hey, we're going
- 7:44Speaker 2: to win because we just played A +. You're going
- 7:47Speaker 2: to need Miami. Darian Metz is going to have to
- 7:50Speaker 2: throw two picks. You're going to need to stop the
- 7:52Speaker 2: run and play A +. And that's just to go
- 7:54Speaker 2: ahead and be... It's not like Oklahoma last week in
- 7:57Speaker 2: Red River, where anything is possible. This is a game where...
- 8:01Speaker 2: it's going to be a lot of Miami messing up
- 8:02Speaker 2: and you being perfect.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah. And when you're counting on that much, do you
- 8:09Speaker 1: really have a chance? I don't think this is as
- 8:11Speaker 1: lopsided as 2024 was from a talent perspective, but it
- 8:16Speaker 1: ain't far off. Like you just look at every matchup
- 8:19Speaker 1: on the field and there's not one that you would say, Oh,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I like Florida state here. And so if you're Mike Norvell,
- 8:24Speaker 1: do you kind of play this to not get blown out?
- 8:26Speaker 1: Like if, cause I think if Florida state loses this
- 8:28Speaker 1: by 20, he's probably the coach for Clemson. If they
- 8:31Speaker 1: lose by 40, he might not be. So the way
- 8:35Speaker 1: that they approach this will be interesting to me. I
- 8:37Speaker 1: also just, I mean, just as a general fan of
- 8:39Speaker 1: college football, I don't like the idea of playing a
- 8:41Speaker 1: game to not get blown out. I think 2024 was
- 8:44Speaker 1: a very specific set of circumstances where you had a
- 8:47Speaker 1: quarterback injured, you had a couple of offensive linemen out,
- 8:49Speaker 1: like you knew you weren't going to be competitive, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: they didn't want a repeat of the Orange Bowl happening
- 8:52Speaker 1: in the same stadium. So the way they approach it's
- 8:56Speaker 1: interesting to me. If they lose by 30 or more,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'm not telling you that I think he's certainly fired
- 9:02Speaker 1: because my thoughts on that seem to change by the week.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Before the season, I would have told you if they
- 9:07Speaker 1: lose this game by 30, he'll be fired. Just assuming
- 9:09Speaker 1: they're not coming in undefeated or something. But yeah, I
- 9:12Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know what it means for Mike
- 9:14Speaker 1: Norvell's tenure. I think it will probably end the Mike
- 9:17Speaker 1: Norvell tenure if they get embarrassed, but I don't know
- 9:20Speaker 1: that that'll be this week.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Okay, but let me ask you, if you are Mike Norvell,
- 9:24Speaker 2: what do you have to lose at this point? Because
- 9:26Speaker 2: if you swing for the fences and you actually like,
- 9:28Speaker 2: let's say it's early on in the game, midfield, go
- 9:31Speaker 2: for it on fourth down. What's the difference? Okay, well,
- 9:33Speaker 2: if you win this one and you get the play,
- 9:36Speaker 2: then guess what? You have an opportunity to score. and
- 9:38Speaker 2: there's no harm no foul. You may end up still
- 9:40Speaker 2: losing by 20+, but at least you go for it.
- 9:43Speaker 2: If you send the house on Darian Mensah and try
- 9:45Speaker 2: to get a coverage sack downfield, I mean, try to
- 9:48Speaker 2: get a sack that pushes them to third and 17,
- 9:51Speaker 2: what's the difference? I mean, that's kind of where I am.
- 9:54Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, you play not to lose, but why
- 9:57Speaker 2: not just play like this is the last time that
- 9:59Speaker 2: you're ever going to play a football game? Like, I
- 10:01Speaker 2: remember my sophomore year of high school, our team wasn't good. Like, we,
- 10:06Speaker 2: I think we were like two and eight that year.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And the seniors just said, if we're going to go out,
- 10:11Speaker 2: and this is our last high school football game, let's
- 10:15Speaker 2: play like we have nothing to lose. And they ended
- 10:17Speaker 2: up still losing by 10 points, but This was the
- 10:20Speaker 2: worst team in district, and they just sent the house,
- 10:23Speaker 2: and they went on verticals, and they went for the explosive,
- 10:26Speaker 2: and they weren't afraid to go ahead and take a
- 10:27Speaker 2: late shot if they needed to, just to try to
- 10:29Speaker 2: go ahead and pull away with the difference. If you're
- 10:32Speaker 2: Mike Nerval, do you not try to do that? Because
- 10:34Speaker 2: let's be real, the writing is on the wall. You
- 10:36Speaker 2: are not going to be Florida State's next head coach
- 10:39Speaker 2: in 2027, bearing incredible things that would happen.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Well, okay, so I'll push back on that a little bit,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and I don't want to. Trust me, as a fan,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I want him fired. I was glad that Louisville ran
- 10:49Speaker 1: it up. I think if he loses this game by
- 10:52Speaker 1: 20 because he plays it safe, and then he goes
- 10:54Speaker 1: out and beats Pitt without a quarterback, and he beats
- 10:56Speaker 1: NC State, who stinks, and he beats Boston College, who stinks,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I think there is a scenario where he gets close
- 11:03Speaker 1: to seven wins, and they do bring him back. Now,
- 11:06Speaker 1: that's a very... bad reality for Florida state fans to
- 11:09Speaker 1: have to hear that. But yeah, my, my mind is
- 11:11Speaker 1: kind of, I don't think the cake is fully baked.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So if you're Mike Norvell and you're thinking about your
- 11:16Speaker 1: paths to 2027, lose this game by 20, which is
- 11:21Speaker 1: respectable enough. That's what the spread is, right? Lose this
- 11:23Speaker 1: game by 20, pick up some wins down the stretch
- 11:26Speaker 1: against bad teams. And I'm back or go for it.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Mensa pick you apart, your defense, not be able to
- 11:34Speaker 1: perform your offense, not be able to perform your and
- 11:37Speaker 1: you lose by 40 and you're fired on Sunday and
- 11:40Speaker 1: you don't even have a chance to go play those
- 11:41Speaker 1: bad teams next month. I think now I completely agree
- 11:44Speaker 1: with you. I be a man, grow some balls, go
- 11:47Speaker 1: play to win. Like we deserve that as college football fans,
- 11:50Speaker 1: not even just Florida state fans, but just college football
- 11:53Speaker 1: fans in general.
- 11:54Speaker 2: In rivalry games. Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 1: We deserve to see you play to win. I don't
- 11:59Speaker 1: think they can win, but I do think there's, it's
- 12:01Speaker 1: gotta be in the back of his mind. Do not
- 12:03Speaker 1: get blown out, get to the Clemson game, And take
- 12:06Speaker 1: your chances there. Like take your chances against Clemson. Try
- 12:09Speaker 1: and be that team. Cause if you beat Clemson, then
- 12:12Speaker 1: I think we're probably looking at the last month of
- 12:13Speaker 1: the season saying NC state pit, Boston college, Florida. If
- 12:18Speaker 1: you've just beaten Clemson with everything going on wrong at
- 12:21Speaker 1: Florida right now, and the problems, those other three teams
- 12:23Speaker 1: have It's conceivable that you could win each of those
- 12:27Speaker 1: games individually. Certainly, in no world am I predicting they
- 12:30Speaker 1: go 5-0 down the stretch. But it is conceivable that
- 12:33Speaker 1: they could win each of those games individually. So it's
- 12:35Speaker 1: got to be in the back of his mind. Don't
- 12:37Speaker 1: get blown out. Make it to the Clemson week. I
- 12:39Speaker 1: don't know. So I can kind of see both sides
- 12:41Speaker 1: of it.
- 12:42Speaker 2: My only problem is that I can tell you right
- 12:44Speaker 2: now because if he played in this game, Mario Cristobal
- 12:47Speaker 2: does not care about what the score is. Mario Cristobal
- 12:49Speaker 2: does not care about what you're going through. Mario Cristobal
- 12:52Speaker 2: does not care about, hey, let's go ahead and wait
- 12:54Speaker 2: to take it easy because if this is a game
- 12:55Speaker 2: that we know we got locked on up... He is
- 12:57Speaker 2: going to send a message because that is what teams
- 13:00Speaker 2: do when they're trying to prove that they are built different.
- 13:03Speaker 2: So if you're going to go swing, might as well
- 13:05Speaker 2: go ahead out like a man if you're Mike Norvell.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Because as a Florida State fan, I can walk away
- 13:11Speaker 2: and respect you that you left no shred of doubt
- 13:15Speaker 2: that was the best performance that you could have put
- 13:17Speaker 2: out there and you left no stone unturned to try
- 13:19Speaker 2: to win this football game. Then go play it safe
- 13:22Speaker 2: because if you want to be here next week for Clemson.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Because yeah, you're here for Clemson. But yeah, what happened to, okay,
- 13:27Speaker 2: what if Clemson is the one that comes on in
- 13:29Speaker 2: and they beat you by three scores? So all we
- 13:31Speaker 2: did was delayed the inevitable and came down the road
- 13:34Speaker 2: just for you to go ahead and lose bad, bad
- 13:35Speaker 2: games to teams that we used to dominate against. So
- 13:38Speaker 2: bottom line, I get it. I understand that there's a
- 13:41Speaker 2: lot of ways you can go about this. Regardless, Florida
- 13:44Speaker 2: State ranks 114th in passing and pass defense. Miami is
- 13:48Speaker 2: top five in passing offense. Florida State is 90th in
- 13:53Speaker 2: run defense. Miami's top 30. in rushing offense. Third down
- 13:57Speaker 2: for conversions. Miami's been elite this year. Florida State's been average.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Every scenario you look at, there's no way unless literally
- 14:06Speaker 2: implosion beyond compare happens. Florida State is winning this football game.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I think Miami wins. I think Miami covers. I think
- 14:14Speaker 2: it is a 20-point differential. And even if it is
- 14:17Speaker 2: a blowout, I think Mike Norvell still is coaching in
- 14:20Speaker 2: week eight or week nine after the bye when Clemson
- 14:23Speaker 2: comes to town. I think they're waiting until the.
- 14:24Speaker 1: End of the season. Florida State is last in the
- 14:28Speaker 1: power four at first contact yards allowed. They give up 3.02
- 14:35Speaker 1: yards per rush before someone is touched. Opposing teams, on average,
- 14:43Speaker 1: are a third of the way to the first down
- 14:44Speaker 1: before Florida State even lays a hand on them. I
- 14:48Speaker 1: don't know how you play this. It is pick your poison.
- 14:50Speaker 1: If you're FSU, do you want Mark Butcher to beat you?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Or do you want Darian Mensah and Tony and Barkay
- 14:55Speaker 1: and loft and these other guys to beat you? There's
- 14:57Speaker 1: no good strategy defensively. It's kind of like craps. You
- 15:02Speaker 1: need to guess right a lot. And the plays you
- 15:05Speaker 1: think Miami may run, you need to play the run.
- 15:06Speaker 1: And the plays that you think Miami may pass, you
- 15:09Speaker 1: need to play the pass. And hopefully you're not getting
- 15:11Speaker 1: that wrong because you can't go up and line up
- 15:13Speaker 1: against them when you are right, let alone when you're
- 15:16Speaker 1: in a wrong coverage or a wrong, you got the wrong,
- 15:19Speaker 1: you know, alignment out there or personnel. Sorry. Right. Florida
- 15:23Speaker 1: State does not do a good job of getting to
- 15:26Speaker 1: guys when they are running the ball. They're getting over
- 15:30Speaker 1: three yards of carry or giving up over three yards
- 15:33Speaker 1: of carry as far as the contact yards that they're allowing. Teams, again, worst,
- 15:41Speaker 1: tied with Rutgers, worst in the country. Miami is 17th
- 15:45Speaker 1: in the power four at 2.14 yards. yards per rush
- 15:49Speaker 1: before they're contacted. So Miami's top half, top quarter of, uh,
- 15:53Speaker 1: of the power for pretty good at it. Georgia's elite 3.40. Um,
- 15:58Speaker 1: but yeah, that is a strength for Miami. It's a
- 16:00Speaker 1: weakness for Florida state. Every other advanced statistic that you
- 16:03Speaker 1: can find, but shout out to my guy, Graham, Graham
- 16:05Speaker 1: coffee over at dog central that created that, that metric
- 16:09Speaker 1: and put it all together. You can go check it out.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Dog central.com slash trenches. Um, you look at pressure rate
- 16:14Speaker 1: and pressure rate allowed again, top of the country. bottom
- 16:17Speaker 1: of the country for Florida State. It's going to be
- 16:20Speaker 1: 48-13 is my prediction. I don't think the Seminoles have
- 16:23Speaker 1: a chance in this one.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to go 44-17. It's going to be
- 16:30Speaker 2: a little nicer. Late touchdown. Here's the problem. Darian Metz
- 16:34Speaker 2: is not playing all four quarters. When you don't have
- 16:36Speaker 2: your quarterback out there for four quarters, Malachi Toney can
- 16:38Speaker 2: kind of sit and rest in the fourth. It's the
- 16:40Speaker 2: ultimate sign of, guys, you're going to go ahead and
- 16:43Speaker 2: have to realize that this is over. If you haven't already...
- 16:46Speaker 2: This is the nail in the coffin. Here's just a take.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I think it's really, really dire. And Florida State fans,
- 16:52Speaker 2: you may laugh at this. TJ, have you ever seen
- 16:54Speaker 2: the episode of South Park where Kyle Broflovsky's cousin, Kyle,
- 16:58Speaker 2: comes in to check the naughty and nice list for
- 17:01Speaker 2: Eric Cartman?
- 17:02Speaker 1: I've seen clips from it. I've never seen the full episode.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Okay. So there is a moment where Kyle's cousin says
- 17:09Speaker 2: to Eric, even if you cured cancer and solved world peace,
- 17:14Speaker 2: you still would owe Santa three gifts. Tony White would
- 17:17Speaker 2: have to call the most elite game of elite games
- 17:20Speaker 2: and still would need to find a way to get
- 17:22Speaker 2: like 10 points offensively. That is a trouble in itself.
- 17:25Speaker 2: That's where Florida State is right now. It's the exact
- 17:27Speaker 2: same formula.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to get ugly. My question is how
- 17:31Speaker 1: quickly does it get ugly? I could see it being
- 17:33Speaker 1: a close game for a half. I could see Florida
- 17:35Speaker 1: State sticking around for a half. I don't predict it.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I could see it for a quarter. I think Florida
- 17:40Speaker 1: State will script something up on the opening drive and
- 17:42Speaker 1: have some success. We've seen that in games. Bama, Louisville.
- 17:45Speaker 1: They've done this on the road. how quickly does the
- 17:49Speaker 1: table turn? How quickly does Miami figure out what they're
- 17:52Speaker 1: doing and adjust to it? And Miami say, we ain't
- 17:56Speaker 1: looking back from here, boys. I think again, it does
- 17:58Speaker 1: happen pretty quickly.
- 17:59Speaker 2: They got to run a marathon and they're sprinters.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Good luck.
- 18:02Speaker 2: That's what it is. They blow it within the first mile.
- 18:05Speaker 2: All right, cool. Now it's game over.
