- 0:04Speaker 2: John Jay and Richie. What's crackin' like? And this is
- 0:07Speaker 2: the big boss dog, Snoopy Deagle Double Jizzle.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Bang, boom.
- 0:11Speaker 1: What you gonna do?
- 0:11Speaker 4: John Jay and Richie.
- 0:12Speaker 5: We're not talking about Ren 1010.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We're not talking about Lassie.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's the one and only dog, y'all.
- 0:17Speaker 6: The classiest, lastest.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Big Snoopy Deagle Double Jizzle.
- 0:20Speaker 5: In your face to me and in the place to be.
- 0:22Speaker 2: And you're listening to John.
- 0:23Speaker 5: Jay and Richie.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Wake your ass up, fool.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Rich, today is National what?
- 0:27Speaker 2: National Chocolate Covered Insect Day. Ew. So, I mean, who's
- 0:31Speaker 2: down for a chocolate-covered cricket?
- 0:33Speaker 7: You have.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I've eaten one on this show before.
- 0:35Speaker 5: You have.
- 0:36Speaker 6: They're not bad.
- 0:36Speaker 2: They're not bad. It's also Be Bald and Be Free Day.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 0:40Speaker 2: So, you know, rip off the toupee, I guess. And
- 0:43Speaker 2: it's National Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day.
- 0:46Speaker 8: Cute. Aww.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Hello. Good morning, John Jay and Rich. Can I help you? Hello? Hello.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Who's this?
- 0:54Speaker 2: This is Shannon.
- 0:56Speaker 1: What's up, Shannon?
- 0:59Speaker 9: I was trying to see, have I got the right number?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yes, you do. Oh, Shannon.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Shannon.
- 1:11Speaker 1: You know what's funny is that obviously you heard an
- 1:13Speaker 1: accent there. I'm so excited because I was hoping that
- 1:16Speaker 1: a foreigner would call us because I saw this article.
- 1:19Speaker 1: There's a list of habits that Americans have while dining
- 1:23Speaker 1: at restaurants that are mind-boggling to people from other countries. Mind-boggling.
- 1:28Speaker 10: Let's hear an example.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Ordering one entree to split.
- 1:32Speaker 10: Oh, yeah, that's a big one. They don't do that overseas? Oh,
- 1:35Speaker 10: you want to know why?
- 1:36Speaker 4: Because portions here in Arizona, or I guess in America
- 1:40Speaker 4: in general.
- 1:40Speaker 10: Are huge.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Rich and his wife do that quite a bit. I mean,
- 1:43Speaker 2: that's all we do. We'll like one app and one thing,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and we split it.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I can't. I'm from here, but I don't understand that
- 1:49Speaker 1: because I want my own meal, and I want half
- 1:51Speaker 1: of yours. So these are habits that are mind-boggling to
- 1:55Speaker 1: other people. When Americans say, I'll do the... When ordering
- 1:59Speaker 1: from a menu. It's such a strange choice of phrase.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Or when people say, gimme, when ordering. I'll do the.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'll do the. That's interesting.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Some people say it's bad manners. We could say, may
- 2:09Speaker 1: I please have, or can I please have, and then
- 2:12Speaker 1: thank them afterwards. But anyway, so apparently these are things
- 2:15Speaker 1: that are baffling. expecting service in a restaurant to be
- 2:19Speaker 1: immediate and having your server be exactly on your schedule
- 2:23Speaker 1: so you don't have to wait. I'm guilty of that.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I definitely feel like in Europe you are kind
- 2:27Speaker 6: of sitting around and enjoying, you know, banter.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but they also bring out things.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Because they dine. Hold on, maybe she's calling back. Hello,
- 2:36Speaker 1: John Jane Rich, can I help you?
- 2:37Speaker 10: Is this Kiss FM?
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yes, is this Shannon? Yeah. You have the right number.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Yes, you have the right number.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I was going to ask you, so you're on the air. Well,
- 2:45Speaker 1: first of all, what can we do for you? I
- 2:47Speaker 1: have some questions for you.
- 2:49Speaker 10: Okay.
- 2:50Speaker 7: Am I really on the air? Yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Where are you from?
- 2:54Speaker 9: I'm from Australia, but I live in Los Angeles.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Oh, what are you calling us for?
- 2:58Speaker 9: I thought it was for the Jingle Ball ticket.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Well, hey, let me ask you this first. Do you
- 3:08Speaker 1: think it's weird that Americans will order food and split
- 3:13Speaker 1: one entree?
- 3:15Speaker 6: No.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 3:18Speaker 1: According they say. Well, that's just for Europeans. She's from Australia.
- 3:22Speaker 1: This is probably totally normal for people in Australia. What about,
- 3:25Speaker 1: there's an article about American dining customs that baffle foreigners.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So I thought I'd kind of, I could hear an accident,
- 3:31Speaker 1: so I thought I'd bounce some of these off you.
- 3:33Speaker 7: Sure, go for it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: All right. Finishing all your meal 100%. In some countries,
- 3:38Speaker 1: it means you didn't get enough and your host has
- 3:40Speaker 1: let you down.
- 3:40Speaker 9: No.
- 3:42Speaker 7: Not in my country.
- 3:44Speaker 9: Right.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Okay. What about expecting service in a restaurant to be
- 3:49Speaker 1: immediate and having your server be exactly on your schedule?
- 3:53Speaker 7: I mean, some people are, but I'm pretty easygoing.
- 3:57Speaker 9: I mean, if you are like half an hour to take.
- 4:00Speaker 7: My order, I think that's not good service, but You
- 4:05Speaker 7: don't have to, like, walk in the door and take
- 4:07Speaker 7: my order straight away. But, again, I'm not everyone.
- 4:11Speaker 1: What about blowing your nose in public? Apparently, people and
- 4:14Speaker 1: foreigners don't really get that. Why do Americans do that?
- 4:19Speaker 9: Good Lord.
- 4:22Speaker 7: I do, but I try to do it in, like, privately.
- 4:27Speaker 7: But I don't do it, like, you know. Yeah, that's
- 4:32Speaker 7: a tough one.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's a tough one, Shannon. What were your questions about
- 4:36Speaker 1: Jingle Ball?
- 4:37Speaker 7: I just got onto the radio. My daughter really wants
- 4:40Speaker 7: to go, and I thought you were giving away tickets.
- 4:43Speaker 1: We are. You've got to keep listening. We're paying your bills.
- 4:46Speaker 1: When you listen for the keyword, you hear your bills,
- 4:49Speaker 1: time to listen for the keyword, and you're thrown in
- 4:51Speaker 1: the hopper if you win to go to Madison Square
- 4:54Speaker 1: Garden to go see Jingle Ball in New York City. Oh,
- 4:56Speaker 1: my gosh. I know.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Wow.
- 4:58Speaker 7: Okay, so I've got to listen for the key word.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Keep listening, Shannon. Thank you for listening. Thanks for calling me.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And welcome to America.
- 5:07Speaker 9: I've been here for 15 years.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's why it's not weird for her to split a meal.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you, Shannon. Yeah, there was a bunch of,
- 5:19Speaker 1: a couple of things on here. It says, someone said,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I like what, the thing I like about Americans visiting
- 5:24Speaker 1: is how friendly they are with strangers. In my country,
- 5:26Speaker 1: locals are often, look like they're constipated. So that random
- 5:29Speaker 1: smiling and chatting is very welcome. Anyway, just some fun
- 5:34Speaker 1: stuff there.
- 5:35Speaker 6: Hey, what's the vibe for Horoscopes today? Okay, so we
- 5:45Speaker 6: are right in, like, full-blown spooky season, so I'm letting
- 5:47Speaker 6: you know exactly the kind of person you are when
- 5:50Speaker 6: your zodiac sign goes to a haunted house. If it's
- 5:53Speaker 6: your birthday today, you are a Libra, and you share
- 5:55Speaker 6: a birthday with Usher and Jay Pharoah. So, Kyle, I
- 5:58Speaker 6: know you're a Libra in the room, so I'm just
- 6:00Speaker 6: going to start off with you. I have totally suggested
- 6:02Speaker 6: doing a Try It Tuesday at a haunted house, and
- 6:04Speaker 6: you have shut me down.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Very true.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Accurate.
- 6:10Speaker 4: So my personality is not there.
- 6:12Speaker 6: Well, yeah, you're kind of the accidental prop victim. Because
- 6:16Speaker 6: it is your season, you will spend 45 minutes kind
- 6:18Speaker 6: of picking out the perfect outfit for the perfect vibe.
- 6:21Speaker 6: You are going to flirt with a guy holding the
- 6:23Speaker 6: fake axe because he's totally hot. And then you might
- 6:26Speaker 6: walk into a wooden wall trying to look cute, but
- 6:28Speaker 6: you're also scared out of your mind.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:30Speaker 6: Yeah, probably. Pretty accurate.
- 6:32Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Trish. Good morning, Trish. What's
- 6:35Speaker 1: your sign?
- 6:36Speaker 2: I'm a Virgo.
- 6:37Speaker 6: John Jay. For Virgos, you guys are the prop inspector.
- 6:42Speaker 6: And also, this is kind of the vibe that you
- 6:44Speaker 6: guys have for your haunted house and the energy, right?
- 6:47Speaker 6: You guys are like, you loudly point out like all
- 6:50Speaker 6: the visible like wiring and fake blood to prove that
- 6:53Speaker 6: you aren't scared. Like you're looking through all the nooks
- 6:55Speaker 6: and the cranes. You're like, yep, scare actor coming up
- 6:57Speaker 6: on your right. And you're most of the time pretty right.
- 7:00Speaker 6: Quite honestly, you ruin the vibe for everyone.
- 7:02Speaker 8: Good.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I hate haunted houses. I do not like them at all.
- 7:06Speaker 1: All right. How about you, Trish? You agree?
- 7:08Speaker 8: Um, sadly, yes.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Well, thanks for calling in.
- 7:12Speaker 6: I mean, make it realistic.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I want you to really kill me.
- 7:16Speaker 10: All right.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Have a great day, Trish. Thanks for listening.
- 7:19Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 7:20Speaker 11: You too.
- 7:20Speaker 8: Bye.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Hi, Tawny. What's your sign?
- 7:23Speaker 3: Good morning, Aquarius.
- 7:24Speaker 6: Okay, Aquarius, the kind of vibe and the energy that
- 7:28Speaker 6: you bring when you go to a haunted house, you
- 7:30Speaker 6: will completely check out of the horror. You will give
- 7:33Speaker 6: all of the, like, scare actors a weird thumbs up
- 7:35Speaker 6: and then lecture your friends on the psychological history of
- 7:38Speaker 6: fear and what it does to your body.
- 7:42Speaker 8: Oh, I don't do haunted houses.
- 7:45Speaker 6: No one does haunted houses.
- 7:46Speaker 7: I should have been that cool.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Well, somebody must. They're always crowded.
- 7:50Speaker 12: Standing in line.
- 7:53Speaker 3: To like be yelled at by a clown sounds silly.
- 7:57Speaker 8: I agree with you.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's fun.
- 8:00Speaker 8: Have a great day, guys.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Thanks, Tani.
- 8:05Speaker 1: How about for Pisces?
- 8:07Speaker 5: Okay, Rich.
- 8:08Speaker 6: You, like, of all times, are trying to, like, romanticize
- 8:11Speaker 6: the vibe. So when you have the scare actors, you are, like,
- 8:14Speaker 6: making up their sad and tragic backstories as you're tripping
- 8:17Speaker 6: over all of the props. You are, like, you are
- 8:21Speaker 6: just causing chaos in the haunted house. And, yeah, somebody
- 8:24Speaker 6: walks up to you, you're like, oh, I feel really
- 8:26Speaker 6: bad for you.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You probably miss your dad. Screaming in the insane asylum?
- 8:29Speaker 2: You must have had some problems growing up.
- 8:30Speaker 6: You're, like, diagnosing them, yes.
- 8:32Speaker 2: That's true.
- 8:33Speaker 5: That's you.
- 8:33Speaker 1: How about Leo's?
- 8:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm a Leo. For us, we are treating the
- 8:37Speaker 6: strobe lights like a high-fashion photo shoot, and people are
- 8:40Speaker 6: getting really upset with us because we have our flashlight
- 8:42Speaker 6: on to get the video of all of the things. Also,
- 8:45Speaker 6: we're checking our makeup in the dark, making sure that
- 8:47Speaker 6: our mascara hasn't ran.
- 8:48Speaker 1: All right, if we can get you a sign, I'll
- 8:50Speaker 1: post it on our website, johnjanerich.com. Hey, I'm reading this
- 9:02Speaker 1: story and I'm having a problem understanding it. I feel
- 9:04Speaker 1: like I understand half of it. And I thought I
- 9:06Speaker 1: could bounce it off you guys.
- 9:07Speaker 6: Okay.
- 9:08Speaker 1: It says folks online are talking about societal shifts in
- 9:13Speaker 1: their lifetimes that no one talks about anymore. They're older folks.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So these are things that no one talks about anymore.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And I'm reading them and I'm like, I don't understand.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Like the prevalence of unmarried couples living together. This person says,
- 9:27Speaker 1: when I was a kid, This was considered scandalous. Now
- 9:30Speaker 1: it's just assumed that a couple move in together at
- 9:32Speaker 1: some point, whether or not they intend to get married.
- 9:35Speaker 6: I would argue that that is probably a healthy thing
- 9:38Speaker 6: to do. I had a friend that didn't live with
- 9:40Speaker 6: her husband until they got married and it did not
- 9:42Speaker 6: end up well because they didn't know each other's habits.
- 9:45Speaker 6: They didn't. They actually ended up hating each other.
- 9:48Speaker 1: That is a good point to this subject. But what
- 9:50Speaker 1: is this article talking about?
- 9:51Speaker 10: I know, I'm trying to figure it out too.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Beyond that, I need another example. Tattoos.
- 9:56Speaker 1: This person said, if my 70s self were transported to today,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I'd be amazed at so many motorcyclists and former sailors
- 10:03Speaker 1: were walking around these streets. Okay. What does that mean?
- 10:06Speaker 4: I think this article is like, What are these young
- 10:09Speaker 4: whippersnappers doing these days?
- 10:13Speaker 2: I'll give you one that's a little more modern, I think.
- 10:15Speaker 6: The things that older people will hate on younger people.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Societal things that have changed now, back in the day.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Like for me, if the doorbell rings or somebody knocks
- 10:24Speaker 2: at the door, I think it's common for most of
- 10:26Speaker 2: us to not answer it at all. But your parents
- 10:29Speaker 2: and our grandparents would never do that. They would always
- 10:31Speaker 2: go to the front door and be surprised by who's there.
- 10:34Speaker 2: But we don't because we don't want to get, you know, stabbed.
- 10:36Speaker 1: So it's the way the article is labeled. What's the
- 10:39Speaker 1: societal shift over your lifetime that no one talks about?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Another one is going to the gym. They say almost
- 10:44Speaker 1: everyone I know works out now. I go to a
- 10:46Speaker 1: community gym and it's mostly seniors, at least during the day. Like,
- 10:49Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 10:50Speaker 6: It's just things that I guess were, like, super popular
- 10:53Speaker 6: and relevant. Then that might not be now.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Or opposite. Like here, this part. Kids' sports are now
- 11:00Speaker 1: an industry. In the 70s, no one took lessons or
- 11:03Speaker 1: went to summer camps.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That's true.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Now kids are basically groomed from a young age to
- 11:07Speaker 1: excel at a sport.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 11:09Speaker 1: It's pretty wild.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You just sign up and play something and you practice
- 11:12Speaker 2: on your own time.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Less interaction. You can walk past someone and they don't
- 11:16Speaker 1: notice because they're locked on their devices and are always
- 11:18Speaker 1: in a rush. Yeah, that's true. That's one thing when
- 11:21Speaker 1: I go hiking. People always say hi when you pass
- 11:23Speaker 1: each other out.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Sure.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And if they don't say hi, this friend of mine,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I go hiking with him, yell at him.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Hello.
- 11:28Speaker 10: Good morning.
- 11:31Speaker 1: We don't talk on the phone. We text, DM, Zoom, FaceTime, email, Snapchat,
- 11:35Speaker 1: but we don't just call to talk, which used to
- 11:37Speaker 1: be something a lot of people did routinely.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Well, sure. And they had home phones. Nobody has a
- 11:40Speaker 2: home phone.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I tell you, my wife, she can talk on the
- 11:43Speaker 1: phone all freaking day. There's very little smoking in public places.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I love that.
- 11:48Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 11:49Speaker 6: See, I get that. But then again, sometimes you've had
- 11:52Speaker 6: a few with your friends. You want to just spark
- 11:54Speaker 6: up a ciggy.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I get it.
- 11:55Speaker 6: And it's really annoying when they tell you no.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's terrible if you walk outside to go get
- 12:00Speaker 2: some air out of a bar and everybody's like... huddle
- 12:02Speaker 2: around smoking in the parking lot.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Teach their own that's my kind of party public profanity
- 12:07Speaker 1: is much more common that's true yeah knowing your neighbors
- 12:10Speaker 1: we used to know them well and take care of
- 12:12Speaker 1: their kids when they came over to play with your
- 12:13Speaker 1: kids if you needed to borrow a tool have at
- 12:16Speaker 1: it needed a hand i needed a hand doing something
- 12:18Speaker 1: happy to help i say hello to my neighbors now
- 12:20Speaker 1: and they look at me like i just asked them
- 12:21Speaker 1: to hand over their wallet That's true.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I get that.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I don't talk to my neighbors.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel like my meme is almost too hands-on
- 12:27Speaker 6: with our neighbors because right now we're taking care of
- 12:30Speaker 6: every house on each side of us. And I'm like,
- 12:32Speaker 6: why are you signing up for this? Well, I love
- 12:34Speaker 6: my neighbors.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Oh, snowbirds?
- 12:36Speaker 10: My kids would never go over to my neighbor's house.
- 12:38Speaker 6: I'm like, it's so annoying. Yeah, and they got us
- 12:40Speaker 6: all on the cameras watering their plants.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Men are much more involved in their kids' lives and
- 12:46Speaker 1: more comfortable talking about their feelings and trauma.
- 12:48Speaker 6: That's a good one.
- 12:49Speaker 1: That's true. That didn't happen.
- 12:50Speaker 10: You should change diapers.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That didn't happen back in the day.
- 12:53Speaker 10: It's just evolution.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:54Speaker 6: Men weren't allowed to have emotions or feelings then.
- 12:57Speaker 1: You're right. It was uncool. Sign of weakness. I saw
- 13:02Speaker 1: this thing from BuzzFeed. Again, I love BuzzFeed. They do
- 13:05Speaker 1: some really fun articles. And I'm just going to go
- 13:07Speaker 1: around the room and share stuff. And I don't even
- 13:09Speaker 1: know how, if you're listening and you want to participate,
- 13:12Speaker 1: that'd be great. But it says, have you ever wondered
- 13:14Speaker 1: about asking your doctor a silly question? Yes. You have? Sure.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I've wondered about that before.
- 13:21Speaker 1: You've asked them a silly question?
- 13:22Speaker 10: What type of silly questions?
- 13:24Speaker 2: Like something that you should probably know or something that,
- 13:26Speaker 2: you know, like, you know.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Like BuzzFeed collected stories from doctors and health care workers
- 13:30Speaker 1: that shared the moments when their patients did something unbelievably dumb.
- 13:34Speaker 1: For example, a man removed a knife from his torso
- 13:38Speaker 1: and called 911. Their first piece of advice was to
- 13:41Speaker 1: not pull the knife out.
- 13:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 1: So before paramedics arrived, he put the knife back in.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Oh, no. Re-injured himself. But did it re-plug up the wound?
- 13:54Speaker 6: I hope it did.
- 13:54Speaker 2: I hope it was worth it.
- 13:56Speaker 1: A mother brought her healthy three-month-old baby into the emergency
- 13:59Speaker 1: room because, quote, he was laughing inappropriately.
- 14:02Speaker 2: What?
- 14:03Speaker 1: It's probably gas.
- 14:05Speaker 6: Right.
- 14:06Speaker 10: He was all scared. He's possessed.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Okay, so has everyone in here been in an MRI machine?
- 14:12Speaker 1: You ever take an MRI?
- 14:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 1: When you get in the machine, you go in and
- 14:17Speaker 1: it'll go.
- 14:18Speaker 2: It's so unusually loud, you almost think it's funny, like
- 14:20Speaker 2: it's a joke.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Yeah. And so what they'll do sometimes, they'll give you
- 14:24Speaker 1: earplugs for the MRI machine.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I just did it for my knee.
- 14:27Speaker 1: So a man was handed earplugs for his MRI and
- 14:29Speaker 1: he immediately swallowed them.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Oh!
- 14:31Speaker 10: That wasn't candy. It wasn't a treat. I thought they
- 14:34Speaker 10: were pills or something.
- 14:37Speaker 1: He was like, oh, thank you very much. A patient
- 14:40Speaker 1: had to take some pills before his eye surgery. He
- 14:43Speaker 1: was worried about how he was going to get the
- 14:45Speaker 1: pills into his eyes. And these are real things that
- 14:49Speaker 1: doctors have shared. Some of the dumbest thing their patients
- 14:51Speaker 1: have ever done. I had to take this shot every
- 14:54Speaker 1: once in a while, by the way. I just thought
- 14:55Speaker 1: of this for me. You ever seen those shots? It's not, it's,
- 14:59Speaker 1: you've seen it on TV, like the Ozempic shots. They
- 15:01Speaker 1: make them for you, right? But this wasn't Ozempic. This
- 15:04Speaker 1: was this thing I did. I had to take some
- 15:05Speaker 1: heart medicine for a while. And you take it, you
- 15:06Speaker 1: take your thumb and you just push it in. I
- 15:09Speaker 1: had it the reverse way. And when I pushed it,
- 15:11Speaker 1: the injection, all the medicine went into my thumb. And
- 15:14Speaker 1: my thumb turned into this huge bubble for like 45 minutes.
- 15:17Speaker 1: And I had to call my doctor and go, oh
- 15:19Speaker 1: my God, I did this wrong. I should have taken
- 15:21Speaker 1: a picture of it.
- 15:21Speaker 6: Was it an EpiPen?
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like an EpiPen.
- 15:23Speaker 7: Yeah, okay.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It's like an EpiPen. But now the EpiPens are like
- 15:26Speaker 1: ozepics in there, testosterone's in there.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they're like.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. One man didn't understand how vasectomies worked,
- 15:34Speaker 1: so he asked his doctor if he can keep him
- 15:36Speaker 1: once they finished the surgery. I think he thought it
- 15:38Speaker 1: was his testicles. A pregnant teen insisted she couldn't be
- 15:44Speaker 1: pregnant because she ate an apple the day after sex.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Someone was messing with her.
- 15:52Speaker 1: A woman and her boyfriend were both taking her birth
- 15:55Speaker 1: control pills because they thought that's how it worked.
- 15:57Speaker 6: There's other forms of birth control for men now.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I feel like the woman was like, if I'm taking this,
- 16:01Speaker 1: you're taking this. That's funny. A patient complained... that he
- 16:06Speaker 1: coughed whenever he inhaled water in the shower. Doctor said, drowning.
- 16:11Speaker 1: That's called drowning.
- 16:14Speaker 10: Don't inhale the water in the shower.
- 16:15Speaker 1: There's like a whole list of them.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I know, but this made us feel really smart today,
- 16:19Speaker 2: and I appreciate that.
- 16:20Speaker 1: In fact, click on the list. If you got any more,
- 16:22Speaker 1: if you're in the medical field, please share with us.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Or whatever field you're in, just the dumb things that
- 16:28Speaker 1: people said to you. God, there's a whole bunch. I
- 16:32Speaker 1: worked as a medical assistant and OBGYN patient called to
- 16:35Speaker 1: make an appointment because she needed a fallopian tube. I
- 16:37Speaker 1: was confused. I asked her, she meant that she wanted
- 16:39Speaker 1: to get her tube stopped. She said, no, I'm trying
- 16:41Speaker 1: to get pregnant. So I need to get a fallopian tube. Definitely.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Just order one of those. There's a whole bunch of these.
- 16:48Speaker 1: These are great. So anyway. If you got something you
- 16:50Speaker 1: can share, please text us or call us at 877-937-1047.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Time for Stacks and Hacks. I have stacks of information
- 17:02Speaker 1: and Rich has live hacks. I like to start off
- 17:05Speaker 1: with something pretty interesting. We always talk about AI and
- 17:08Speaker 1: how bad it is. Listen to this. AI researchers are
- 17:14Speaker 1: taking up smoking. They're smoking cigarettes.
- 17:17Speaker 6: Why?
- 17:18Speaker 1: Do you know why?
- 17:19Speaker 8: No.
- 17:19Speaker 10: We just asked why.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I'm glad you asked.
- 17:21Speaker 13: Why?
- 17:22Speaker 1: This is crazy because they're so confident that AI is
- 17:26Speaker 1: going to cure cancer.
- 17:27Speaker 9: What?
- 17:28Speaker 1: Listen to this. This is true.
- 17:29Speaker 14: I think there's a profound truth to Pascal saying that
- 17:32Speaker 14: every human has a God-shaped hole in their heart. Many
- 17:34Speaker 14: of these folks in Silicon Valley who are building this
- 17:36Speaker 14: technology have filled that hole with the machine god of AGI.
- 17:40Speaker 14: So many AI researchers have started smoking cigarettes. As a
- 17:43Speaker 14: way of signaling to other researchers how much they believe
- 17:46Speaker 14: in AI.
- 17:47Speaker 1: What?
- 17:47Speaker 2: That makes no sense. I believe so much.
- 17:50Speaker 14: In AI that it's going to cure cancer. So I'm
- 17:53Speaker 14: showing you my chips.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Are all in. Crazy, right?
- 17:56Speaker 6: That's a really interesting logic.
- 17:58Speaker 2: And I wonder if they know something about, because I
- 18:01Speaker 2: was reading somewhere that either Japan or China, they can
- 18:04Speaker 2: like replace AI. cells that are cancer cells with ai
- 18:08Speaker 2: generated cells like just stick them in there so maybe
- 18:11Speaker 2: they know something that we don't know yet.
- 18:12Speaker 1: They do they know that they're going to cure cancer
- 18:15Speaker 1: all right so here's a poll people online asked you
- 18:18Speaker 1: are asked to cross a large cemetery in the middle
- 18:22Speaker 1: of the night okay what do you take with you
- 18:27Speaker 1: kyle one thing you take one thing with you um
- 18:32Speaker 1: A cross.
- 18:33Speaker 2: That's good.
- 18:35Speaker 1: 1% of people said they would do it with a
- 18:36Speaker 1: religious symbol, a cross or holy water. Holy water, yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 1: What would you take?
- 18:40Speaker 6: I was going to say holy water, but that was one.
- 18:42Speaker 1: You can't because I know. I know. So come up with.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Something else. What's the question again?
- 18:47Speaker 1: Okay, never mind. Rich, your turn.
- 18:48Speaker 2: A psychic that can get evil spirits off me.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Oh, a psychic.
- 18:50Speaker 10: Yeah, a friend.
- 18:51Speaker 1: A psychic. 17% of people said they would do it
- 18:55Speaker 1: without anything. They would just do it. No big deal. 10%
- 18:57Speaker 1: said they would take a weapon.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Most people said they take a flashlight, a headlamp, or
- 19:02Speaker 1: a torch.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Oh, a flashlight's a good choice.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Website called The Takeout defines boomer candy as candy that
- 19:10Speaker 1: stood the test of time.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Snickers.
- 19:13Speaker 1: So they came out with a list of the top
- 19:15Speaker 1: ten boomer candies for Halloween.
- 19:17Speaker 6: Smarties.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Smarties number eight.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Snickers.
- 19:20Speaker 10: Like what Rich said, yeah, Snickers.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Snickers.
- 19:22Speaker 10: It's been around forever. What about bazooka gum?
- 19:24Speaker 1: Strawberry bonbons, beer barrels, cinnamon discs, butterscotch, starburst, cinnamon jawbreakers,
- 19:31Speaker 1: milk duds, Laffy Taffy, and the number one boomer candy
- 19:35Speaker 1: is Werther's originally.
- 19:36Speaker 10: Oh, yeah, the caramel.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Werther's.
- 19:38Speaker 10: Those are good.
- 19:41Speaker 1: There's a company that has developed a new allergy-free peanut butter, okay?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Because you always hear about people with allergies peanut butter, right?
- 19:48Speaker 1: Which they want to get on shelves next year. But
- 19:50Speaker 1: it's not intended for people with allergies because they can't
- 19:53Speaker 1: guarantee it's safe to eat.
- 19:55Speaker 2: They contain peanuts.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:57Speaker 6: So is that one of those things like we talked
- 19:59Speaker 6: about how non-alcoholic beer actually.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Has alcohol in it? Oh, yeah. All right. Now think
- 20:04Speaker 1: about this. I think we've talked about a good cure
- 20:06Speaker 1: for hiccups probably in hacks, life hacks.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Many times. Many different cures.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Do you guys know what the best cure for hiccups is? What?
- 20:12Speaker 1: The best cure.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Holding your breath and swallowing.
- 20:15Speaker 13: Nope.
- 20:15Speaker 1: That's a good one. But before I give you the answer,
- 20:18Speaker 1: would you guys be willing to try it?
- 20:19Speaker 6: Sure.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You have to get up. We have to, we'd have
- 20:21Speaker 1: to go in pairs though. So pick, pick a partner.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'll go with Peyton.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Okay. All right, Kyle. So then when we do this, Kyle,
- 20:28Speaker 1: then you, you do it to me or I do
- 20:30Speaker 1: it to you. What do you want to do?
- 20:31Speaker 6: Whatever, whatever.
- 20:32Speaker 10: I don't know what it is.
- 20:33Speaker 6: So you pick.
- 20:33Speaker 1: But you pick.
- 20:34Speaker 10: I'll do it to you.
- 20:35Speaker 14: Okay.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I love that. That's exactly what I want. The most
- 20:38Speaker 1: effective cure for hiccups, according to doctors, is inserting a
- 20:41Speaker 1: finger into the rectum. Oh, my gosh.
- 20:42Speaker 6: I don't want to play. Don't take it back.
- 20:44Speaker 10: You can't take it back.
- 20:45Speaker 13: No.
- 20:45Speaker 15: Can I wear a glove?
- 20:45Speaker 1: We're going to go into a song right now.
- 20:46Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 20:47Speaker 1: We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be
- 20:49Speaker 1: right back.
- 20:49Speaker 10: We'll be right back.
- 20:49Speaker 5: We'll be right back.
- 20:50Speaker 1: We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be
- 20:51Speaker 1: right back.
- 20:51Speaker 6: We'll be right back.
- 20:52Speaker 5: We'll be right back.
- 20:52Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 20:52Speaker 6: We'll be right back.
- 20:53Speaker 2: We'll be right back. We'll be right back.
- 20:55Speaker 6: We'll be right back.
- 20:55Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 20:56Speaker 5: We'll be right back.
- 20:57Speaker 6: We'll be right back.
- 20:58Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 20:59Speaker 11: We'll be right back.
- 21:00Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 21:01Speaker 16: We'll be right back.
- 21:01Speaker 1: We'll be right back. We'll be right back.
- 21:03Speaker 5: We'll be right back.
- 21:03Speaker 2: We'll Uh, have you guys heard of pumpkin CPR? It's
- 21:07Speaker 2: a thing that's, uh, trending online. Like when you carve
- 21:09Speaker 2: your pumpkin a little bit too early and then you
- 21:12Speaker 2: set it out and then it starts to get a
- 21:14Speaker 2: little wilty.
- 21:14Speaker 6: Oh, it gets all rotted.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Not rotted. I'm talking just a little wilty right around,
- 21:20Speaker 2: you know, the time that you want it to be
- 21:21Speaker 2: looking sharp. So you can try this and it works.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Fill a cooler or a tub, I guess, with cold water,
- 21:29Speaker 2: add a little bit of ice and And give that
- 21:31Speaker 2: little sad pumpkin a 20 to 30-minute soak because your
- 21:35Speaker 2: pumpkin's just dehydrated. The water can actually help plump it
- 21:38Speaker 2: all back up. Now, it's not going to save a
- 21:41Speaker 2: rotten pumpkin like Peyton was talking about, but it will
- 21:44Speaker 2: revive a wilted one. So carve it. Carve it early.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And when it gets a little wrinkly, stick it inside.
- 21:50Speaker 2: It's like a little moisturizer.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It's like what Peyton's family does with a Christmas tree.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Throw it in the pool.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Throw it in the pool so it stays, yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
- 21:58Speaker 6: It stays hydrated.
- 21:58Speaker 2: That life hack and many more can be found at JohnJaneRich.com.
- 22:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:04Speaker 2: All for you.
- 22:11Speaker 6: OK, did you guys see the story that this business owner,
- 22:14Speaker 6: he fired his employee for missing work. And then when
- 22:17Speaker 6: the employee went to go tell his mom, his mom
- 22:20Speaker 6: called his boss to argue his case on why he
- 22:23Speaker 6: should have never been fired.
- 22:25Speaker 10: That's amazing.
- 22:27Speaker 8: Yes.
- 22:28Speaker 6: Yeah, but no, the son was kind of like, no,
- 22:31Speaker 6: like this is a complete lack of boundaries, like completely overstepped.
- 22:35Speaker 6: And it kind of reminded me of the new Carrie
- 22:37Speaker 6: series that's out on Prime because one of the big
- 22:40Speaker 6: storylines is how her mom continuously goes to her school
- 22:43Speaker 6: to try to handle her problems.
- 22:45Speaker 10: Okay, real quick.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Do we know what the actual reason was that he
- 22:48Speaker 4: got or he wasn't at work?
- 22:49Speaker 6: He just kept missing. He kept calling out.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Is he a child?
- 22:52Speaker 1: But still. Is he like 16, 17, 18?
- 22:55Speaker 6: He's an adult.
- 22:56Speaker 2: He's like 25 years old.
- 22:58Speaker 8: Oh, my God.
- 22:58Speaker 2: That's terrible.
- 22:59Speaker 4: At that point, mom should probably let go a little bit.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 23:02Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 2: You need to make him pay for an apartment. He's
- 23:05Speaker 2: probably living at home.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 23:06Speaker 2: So he doesn't need to work to pay for rent.
- 23:08Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And they're not friends. Mom's not friends with.
- 23:10Speaker 2: The young man.
- 23:11Speaker 6: Not friends with the owner. Literally just was in her
- 23:13Speaker 6: feelings that her son got let off from her job.
- 23:16Speaker 6: And it just made me think like sometimes parents, they
- 23:18Speaker 6: do too much. They overstep and they probably do something
- 23:22Speaker 6: a little bit out of pocket that was not necessary.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Like they cross over boundaries.
- 23:26Speaker 6: Yes.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Or have none.
- 23:27Speaker 10: Or have none.
- 23:29Speaker 7: All right.
- 23:29Speaker 8: Okay.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So what did your parents do for you? And they
- 23:33Speaker 1: meant well, right? They meant well. Yeah, they mean well.
- 23:36Speaker 1: They're there to protect the baby. But you were way
- 23:37Speaker 1: too old. You're an adult. You can handle it.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. Kind of like my wife going all the way,
- 23:41Speaker 1: taking my son to the emergency room when he's 20
- 23:43Speaker 1: years old.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I think that's okay.
- 23:45Speaker 10: I think that's enough. I don't think that's a cost boundary.
- 23:47Speaker 10: I'm just trying to understand.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm just trying to understand.
- 23:49Speaker 10: It would kind of be like.
- 23:50Speaker 2: It would be like your mom doing your paper route
- 23:52Speaker 2: for you.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Hey, I was 16.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, that's a little different.
- 23:57Speaker 1: I was 16.
- 23:58Speaker 2: What were you doing when she was doing the paper route?
- 24:00Speaker 1: I was sitting in the car. Madeline, good morning.
- 24:03Speaker 6: Good morning.
- 24:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 24:04Speaker 1: What happened to you? What'd your parents do?
- 24:06Speaker 12: That's my mom. I am 33 years old.
- 24:10Speaker 10: I am married.
- 24:12Speaker 12: And my mom apparently hired some woman off of Facebook
- 24:17Speaker 12: to flirt with my husband to see if he would cheat.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 24:22Speaker 1: And did he?
- 24:25Speaker 10: No, he did not.
- 24:26Speaker 12: I do not need that protection. She showed up in
- 24:30Speaker 12: his gym. This lady shows up at his gym. She
- 24:32Speaker 12: starts hitting on him. He rejects her. And so she
- 24:37Speaker 12: told my mother that my husband was probably gay. My
- 24:42Speaker 12: mother freaks out.
- 24:44Speaker 3: She has a total meltdown.
- 24:46Speaker 12: She called me and she's crying because she thinks my
- 24:50Speaker 12: husband is secretly gay.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Does she not like your husband or she's just like, like,
- 24:55Speaker 4: why is she so worried about.
- 24:56Speaker 10: You with him?
- 24:58Speaker 12: I don't even know.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Not only did she go and hire someone to hit
- 25:03Speaker 6: on your husband, but when he didn't bite, it wasn't like, oh,
- 25:06Speaker 6: he's being loyal to my daughter. It was, oh, he's gay.
- 25:09Speaker 10: I'm surprised she didn't go hire a dude then.
- 25:11Speaker 5: It gets worse, though.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Oh, it does?
- 25:15Speaker 5: Okay.
- 25:16Speaker 12: The woman she hired sent me the invoice because my
- 25:20Speaker 12: mom ghosted her on Facebook and didn't pay her.
- 25:25Speaker 10: How much did she charge her?
- 25:28Speaker 3: It was 250.
- 25:29Speaker 1: You know what? You know what? There's a show I'm
- 25:31Speaker 1: watching right now. It's called War on HBO. There's two
- 25:35Speaker 1: episodes out. And this exact scenario is being played out
- 25:38Speaker 1: on this show. But the guy slept with the girl.
- 25:42Speaker 1: A woman thought her husband would be cheating, so she
- 25:44Speaker 1: hired her friend. And if she's paid and she sleeps
- 25:48Speaker 1: with him, your mom could have been charged with prostitution
- 25:54Speaker 1: because your mom paid this woman to sleep with him.
- 25:58Speaker 1: If he would have slept with her, your mom could
- 26:00Speaker 1: be go to jail.
- 26:02Speaker 3: But she didn't actually pay her.
- 26:03Speaker 1: No, I know what I'm saying. That's what's actually happening
- 26:08Speaker 1: right now in episode two of war right now. So
- 26:11Speaker 1: I'm not, yeah. So anyway, your husband didn't take the bait. Yeah,
- 26:14Speaker 1: that's right. You got a good guy there, Madeline. Thanks
- 26:17Speaker 1: for sharing that story with us.
- 26:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Thank you very much. 877-937-1047. What did your parents do
- 26:25Speaker 1: for you? They were way too old, way too old,
- 26:27Speaker 1: and they crossed all kinds of boundaries. We'll get into
- 26:30Speaker 1: it next. It's John Gene Rich. Pate was talking about
- 26:39Speaker 1: the TV show Carrie. And on this show, Carrie, the
- 26:43Speaker 1: mom oversteps her boundary, goes to the school.
- 26:45Speaker 6: Yeah, and basically, I mean, it's never good when your
- 26:48Speaker 6: mom pulls up to school because now even more eyes
- 26:50Speaker 6: were on Carrie. And you know the story of Carrie.
- 26:52Speaker 6: Things went bad.
- 26:53Speaker 14: Right.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And then you said there's a story about a guy
- 26:56Speaker 1: who got fired at work for not showing up. Just
- 26:58Speaker 1: going out. He's an adult. And the mom was calling
- 27:01Speaker 1: the boss and trying to say, why did you fire
- 27:03Speaker 1: my son?
- 27:04Speaker 10: Basically pleaded to.
- 27:05Speaker 6: Him like, no, you shouldn't have fired him. This is
- 27:07Speaker 6: why he's so great.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So what did your parents do for you that you
- 27:11Speaker 1: were way too old for? You're a grown ass person,
- 27:14Speaker 1: but your parents still stepped in. Sammy, what happened to you?
- 27:18Speaker 8: My mom has never gotten over the fact that I
- 27:21Speaker 8: didn't go to prom. I also just didn't care. I
- 27:24Speaker 8: didn't care that I didn't go to prom. But so
- 27:26Speaker 8: it's my 30th birthday party. And she told me she
- 27:29Speaker 8: was throwing me a surprise birthday. And she's rented out, like,
- 27:33Speaker 8: an entire ballroom. She's, like, hired a DJ. She bought
- 27:39Speaker 8: me a corsage. And she's invited people that I haven't
- 27:43Speaker 8: seen since high school. She's, like, a Facebook fiend. So she, like,
- 27:49Speaker 8: stalked and, like, found people. the guy I had a
- 27:52Speaker 8: crush on in 2014, who like, by the way, didn't
- 27:55Speaker 8: know that I had a crush on him and asked
- 27:58Speaker 8: him to be my prom date.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 28:01Speaker 8: He brought his wife. And so I was like, it was,
- 28:05Speaker 8: I mean, my mom made like made us take pictures together.
- 28:07Speaker 8: I was just like, I have two children. I am
- 28:10Speaker 8: too old for this.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Wow. Do you regret not going to prom yourself?
- 28:14Speaker 12: No, I've never thought about it.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Because I've heard that. I've heard that, that if you
- 28:21Speaker 1: don't go to your prom, you regret it. But I
- 28:23Speaker 1: kind of don't agree with that, even though I went
- 28:25Speaker 1: to my prom, so I don't know. So you don't
- 28:27Speaker 1: regret it at all?
- 28:29Speaker 8: Not at all. I was like, Mom, it sounds like
- 28:31Speaker 8: you have some prom trauma.
- 28:32Speaker 2: That you have. How was your 30-year-old birthday prom? Was
- 28:37Speaker 2: that fun, other than your married date?
- 28:39Speaker 8: I mean, it was like, it was like, it was
- 28:41Speaker 8: like a throwback vibe that I think people were having fun.
- 28:44Speaker 8: So I was like starting to settle in, but I
- 28:45Speaker 8: was just like at the, I was like, oh my God,
- 28:47Speaker 8: this is like a step and repeat. I was like,
- 28:49Speaker 8: I can't believe this is happening.
- 28:51Speaker 1: You know, let me ask you this. Let me shift
- 28:53Speaker 1: gears for a second. Is there anything in here anybody regrets?
- 28:55Speaker 1: Cause I currently regret something. I don't, it's not the
- 28:58Speaker 1: prom thing, but something very similar that I regret. And
- 29:01Speaker 1: I'll tell you what it is. My high school reunion
- 29:04Speaker 1: was three weeks ago and I didn't go and I
- 29:07Speaker 1: didn't think I'd care. And then I saw pictures and
- 29:09Speaker 1: I saw like five of my friends that I always
- 29:11Speaker 1: hung out with. and they sent me the pictures, and
- 29:15Speaker 1: I was so bummed I wasn't there.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Really?
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really weird. You had FOMO? Is that FOMO?
- 29:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:21Speaker 1: FOMO is like if you're missing out on what is happening, right?
- 29:23Speaker 10: It can also be post-FOMO.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it can also be afterwards.
- 29:26Speaker 1: It's kind of weird because I grew up here, but
- 29:29Speaker 1: I graduated from high school in San Diego, right? Now,
- 29:33Speaker 1: my high school reunion here is in two weeks, and
- 29:36Speaker 1: I'm going to go to that, but it's not the
- 29:38Speaker 1: same as the high school I actually graduated from. from.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 29:41Speaker 6: The high school reunion that you go to is the
- 29:44Speaker 6: school that you graduate from.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Right, but I grew up here. I grew up here,
- 29:48Speaker 1: and then I left before I graduated high school. But
- 29:50Speaker 1: all my friends, so I still get included. So I'm
- 29:53Speaker 1: going to go to this graduation. Everybody at this graduation
- 29:55Speaker 1: I'm going to, I know them all. They're great, whatever.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I see them all the time. The people that I,
- 29:59Speaker 1: the actual graduation that I missed, I have a regret
- 30:03Speaker 1: that I missed it. I think I have very few regrets.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Right, so do you guys have any?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Of a lot of regrets in life.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Like what?
- 30:12Speaker 1: It's funny, but I saw this, I just saw this article,
- 30:15Speaker 1: I'm going to try to find it, of the people's
- 30:17Speaker 1: biggest regrets.
- 30:18Speaker 10: But is it just specifically from like school days?
- 30:20Speaker 1: No, from anything, from anything. Oh, anything, okay. You know,
- 30:22Speaker 1: like probably, Peyton, it was that outfit you wore the
- 30:24Speaker 1: other day.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 30:26Speaker 6: No, actually, I shop ugly and make a cute, so
- 30:29Speaker 6: stop hating.
- 30:29Speaker 10: You do.
- 30:31Speaker 6: For me, it would probably be like, I regret a
- 30:34Speaker 6: lot of my dating history when I was living in Portland, Oregon,
- 30:37Speaker 6: because my now husband knows a lot of the people
- 30:39Speaker 6: that I was kind of like hanging out with. And
- 30:41Speaker 6: I hate that he knows that about me. You know,
- 30:45Speaker 6: like it keeps me up at night sometimes.
- 30:47Speaker 10: That's hilarious.
- 30:48Speaker 6: Sometimes I regret dating girls because y'all are toxic.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 30:51Speaker 6: Whoa.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 30:53Speaker 1: That's good. These are good.
- 30:54Speaker 10: It's true.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I have a big one that you probably remember. It
- 30:59Speaker 2: was my kids were acting up and I'm like, you
- 31:01Speaker 2: guys got to straighten up or we're not going to Disneyland.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Oh, that was brutal, dude.
- 31:06Speaker 6: You didn't let him go?
- 31:07Speaker 2: I was like, you can't just not make.
- 31:11Speaker 10: Empty threats. You can't make empty threats as a parent.
- 31:13Speaker 2: And I'm like, keep it up. We're not going to Disneyland.
- 31:16Speaker 2: And they kept it up. And I'm like, not going
- 31:17Speaker 2: to Disneyland. And we did not go to Disneyland.
- 31:19Speaker 6: Hmm.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You followed through?
- 31:21Speaker 6: How did you follow through on that?
- 31:22Speaker 5: It was so hard.
- 31:23Speaker 6: But honestly, though, but valid, though, because I bet you
- 31:25Speaker 6: they never acted.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Up again when it was time to go to Disney. No,
- 31:28Speaker 2: you know, they never had any timeouts or anything.
- 31:30Speaker 1: After that, actually. They don't even talk to him anymore.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Oh, come on. That would have been a fun.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Weekend, actually.
- 31:36Speaker 2: That would have been a really fun weekend, and we
- 31:37Speaker 2: didn't do it.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I found the article. It says, a poll asks, what
- 31:40Speaker 1: is your biggest regret in life? And people said health, friendships, children,
- 31:47Speaker 1: whether that means having or not having. education, money, family relationships,
- 31:51Speaker 1: career or work. 15% of people said their biggest regret
- 31:54Speaker 1: is related to romantic relationships. 22% of people said, I
- 31:57Speaker 1: don't have any big regrets, which is a good thing.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say more or less, yes, that one.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Because for the most part, the things that you would regret,
- 32:07Speaker 2: they led to something better.
- 32:08Speaker 4: You know what I regretted and it has affected how
- 32:11Speaker 4: I am is in middle school, there was like the
- 32:15Speaker 4: fair was in town and my siblings, everyone was going
- 32:18Speaker 4: on the Gravitron. The Gravitron, it looks like spaceship and
- 32:21Speaker 4: it spins you around and you stick to the wall.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Oh, I hate that.
- 32:24Speaker 4: I got on the ride and I chickened out before
- 32:26Speaker 4: the ride even started. I literally made them stop. I
- 32:28Speaker 4: unbuckled myself. I got off and I waited for my
- 32:31Speaker 4: siblings to get off. When they got off, they were like.
- 32:33Speaker 10: That was the most fun ride in the planet.
- 32:35Speaker 8: We want to go get it.
- 32:37Speaker 10: And I was like, oh my gosh.
- 32:38Speaker 4: And then we didn't get to go on it again.
- 32:40Speaker 4: And so ever since then, I'm like, I got to
- 32:42Speaker 4: try every ride. I got to do the ride because
- 32:44Speaker 4: I'll regret not trying it because everyone said it was
- 32:47Speaker 4: so fun.
- 32:47Speaker 6: That ride was trippy because how did it... Stick us
- 32:50Speaker 6: to the wall.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Well, you'll be funny now. Now your mom's listening and
- 32:52Speaker 1: your mom sets it up.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 1: We can probably make that happen for you at the
- 32:56Speaker 1: state fair. We can get the Gravitron. We can get
- 32:59Speaker 1: all your siblings together.
- 33:01Speaker 10: I've ridden the Gravitron since.
- 33:03Speaker 1: We can wear tuxedos and get corsages like Sammy's thing.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Let's have your mom set it up, Sammy. Let's go.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Hey, Sammy, thanks for calling in. Thank you very much.
- 33:12Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Thanks, guys. All right, Sombra is performing tonight at Desert
- 33:22Speaker 1: Diamond Arena. We gave away tons of tickets to that show.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It's going to be a great show. Right now, though,
- 33:27Speaker 1: we are going to get into the whole Kelly Clarkson debate, right?
- 33:30Speaker 1: This little thing has blown up for her, right? She
- 33:34Speaker 1: goes into this toy store slash magic store, looks at
- 33:38Speaker 1: a giant bird that she wants to buy that costs $ 15, 000. Hello, bird.
- 33:44Speaker 1: The person at the store pretty womaned her.
- 33:48Speaker 2: According to her.
- 33:49Speaker 6: She.
- 33:50Speaker 1: tweeted about it. I think I saw this morning, I
- 33:53Speaker 1: was watching all that because there's video footage of the
- 33:55Speaker 1: whole interaction. I think they said she was in the
- 33:57Speaker 1: store for four minutes total.
- 33:58Speaker 10: Yeah, four minutes and 50 seconds.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:01Speaker 2: It wasn't like she was the only person in there.
- 34:02Speaker 2: There was traffic in there.
- 34:03Speaker 10: It was really busy.
- 34:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 1: But what's the update? Because we want to get into,
- 34:07Speaker 1: what do you want to get? Did Kelly turn into
- 34:09Speaker 1: a Karen? Is there, where do you stand on this debate?
- 34:13Speaker 1: Is she wrong? Was she wrong to use her platform?
- 34:15Speaker 1: Here's what the owner of the place said. We are
- 34:17Speaker 1: afraid for the safety of our shopkeepers. Kelly Clarkson has
- 34:20Speaker 1: put us in danger. Things changed when she used her
- 34:22Speaker 1: platform to attack us. It's just social warfare.
- 34:25Speaker 4: So I know there's been some confusion on whether or
- 34:28Speaker 4: not the bird was actually for sale or not. Johnjo,
- 34:32Speaker 4: you said you saw something where there was a $ 15, 000
- 34:35Speaker 4: price tag on it and then there wasn't. But apparently
- 34:38Speaker 4: that was not for sale. It's a rare, fine art
- 34:41Speaker 4: piece that apparently takes years to build. And for them,
- 34:45Speaker 4: it was one.
- 34:46Speaker 6: Of a kind.
- 34:46Speaker 4: They had told her there is a piece similar to
- 34:50Speaker 4: it for sale, $ 15, 000 elsewhere. But here in the store,
- 34:53Speaker 4: they had one, a different one that was like, more
- 34:55Speaker 4: like $ 2, 000.
- 34:56Speaker 10: Which I think maybe was where she felt pretty woman.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Like you may not be able to afford the $ 15, 000 one,
- 35:01Speaker 4: but we have one for $ 2, 000.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Could she have misunderstood?
- 35:05Speaker 6: Because that's what I was confused about. I'm like, where
- 35:07Speaker 6: did she feel that she was pretty woman? But that
- 35:10Speaker 6: makes sense if they offered her a lower priced bird.
- 35:13Speaker 6: So is she assuming that they just didn't know who
- 35:15Speaker 6: Kelly Clarkson was?
- 35:16Speaker 10: Maybe that's what she's assuming.
- 35:18Speaker 4: And they're probably like, well, we couldn't sell that one,
- 35:20Speaker 4: but we did have something for sale, but it was
- 35:21Speaker 4: cheaper and it was cheaper.
- 35:23Speaker 10: So I don't know. I can kind of see both sides.
- 35:26Speaker 4: But then I wonder, does Kelly Clarkson have a bigger
- 35:30Speaker 4: responsibility because of her platform.
- 35:32Speaker 10: To like maybe put out the whole story?
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yeah, she might have misunderstood.
- 35:37Speaker 4: She's got some really loyal fans and those fans will
- 35:39Speaker 4: just go to bat for her, which is what the
- 35:42Speaker 4: owner of the shop said. He's like, my employees are
- 35:46Speaker 4: receiving death threats. from Kelly Clarkson fans over this. It's like, whoa,
- 35:51Speaker 4: hold on a second. Like, was it really that big
- 35:54Speaker 4: of a deal to receive death threats over a singing bird?
- 35:58Speaker 1: Well, also, I don't think anyone ever thought they would
- 36:00Speaker 1: hear the sentence, Kelly Clarkson's put our lives in danger.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 36:04Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, the way he said that was like a
- 36:06Speaker 6: plea for help.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure they're getting lots.
- 36:10Speaker 14: Right.
- 36:10Speaker 6: I'm sure they're getting calls. Their reviews are probably trashed
- 36:14Speaker 6: right now.
- 36:14Speaker 1: My two cents. on it is I, I really, really
- 36:18Speaker 1: believe Kelly Clarkson. Maybe she, you know, perception is reality.
- 36:21Speaker 1: That was her perception. What happened? I also think that,
- 36:24Speaker 1: I think they saw that she tweeted maybe three minutes
- 36:27Speaker 1: after she left the store. She tweeted about what happened. Yeah.
- 36:30Speaker 1: If I think if she had to redo it again,
- 36:34Speaker 1: she probably would wait it a little bit. She probably
- 36:36Speaker 1: wouldn't have done it. If you're allowed to make mistakes, she's,
- 36:39Speaker 1: you know, trashing his little business.
- 36:41Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 36:41Speaker 4: The owner said when you have the platform, fame, money
- 36:44Speaker 4: and power that she has, you can't just try to
- 36:47Speaker 4: squash somebody like a bug and expect everybody to give
- 36:49Speaker 4: you a pass.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I guess that bird people are hot about it. That
- 36:52Speaker 2: bird's made by some guy who lives in the woods
- 36:54Speaker 2: like he's not from a warehouse. Or, you know, a
- 36:58Speaker 2: toy company. He's like a craftsman. One guy, you know,
- 37:00Speaker 2: like an Etsy dude.
- 37:02Speaker 4: I do kind of feel like also Kelly Clarkson was upset.
- 37:05Speaker 10: In that moment and just shared being upset.
- 37:07Speaker 4: But then also it's like Kelly Clarkson fans may have
- 37:10Speaker 4: a responsibility to be like.
- 37:11Speaker 10: Let's get the full story first.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Also, I heard that the bird is now for sale
- 37:15Speaker 1: for $ 15 million.
- 37:16Speaker 10: Oh, no way.
- 37:18Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 37:18Speaker 1: $ 15 million.
- 37:18Speaker 10: The owner's selling it?
- 37:20Speaker 1: The person who made the bird.
- 37:21Speaker 10: Oh, so he's got another one?
- 37:23Speaker 1: I guess. It's $ 15 million. So what that tells me
- 37:25Speaker 1: is the bird was for sale. I'm telling you, man.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Everything is for sale.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Controversy. Controversy. Speaking of controversy, I got into this. I
- 37:33Speaker 1: saw this article today about hobbies. I was with a
- 37:36Speaker 1: guy yesterday. It was my friend's birthday. And in a
- 37:39Speaker 1: weird fluke, we ended up spending the day together, me
- 37:40Speaker 1: and this friend of mine, Justin. And he collects cards,
- 37:44Speaker 1: baseball cards and comic books. And I went to this
- 37:47Speaker 1: guy's house that had, I've never seen anything like it.
- 37:51Speaker 1: He had the most amazing collection of baseball cards. And
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'm not even into it, but it was the way
- 37:56Speaker 1: that it was displayed. Like we went into his house
- 37:59Speaker 1: and there was a wall and you had to move
- 38:01Speaker 1: the wall. And then there was a huge safe with
- 38:03Speaker 1: a code. And you open the door and you walk
- 38:05Speaker 1: into this room that's bigger than all these studios put together.
- 38:08Speaker 1: And it was all baseball cards. It was all. And
- 38:11Speaker 1: I was so stressed for him because you buy a
- 38:14Speaker 1: card and then they flip it. They sell it. They're
- 38:16Speaker 1: making all kinds of money. And then there's one guy's
- 38:17Speaker 1: like keeping cards. And then I see today, what's a hobby?
- 38:21Speaker 1: That looks peaceful from the outside, but it's actually pure stress.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Alligator wrestling?
- 38:28Speaker 1: I don't know anyone that does that.
- 38:29Speaker 6: I'm like, anything that's like crocheting or sewing.
- 38:33Speaker 2: That's stressful?
- 38:34Speaker 6: Yeah, have you ever tried a crochet?
- 38:36Speaker 2: No, I have not.
- 38:36Speaker 6: It is very difficult to do.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you what's on, you know, along those lines, Peyton,
- 38:40Speaker 1: that's a good answer. Bonsai. People think it's all zen,
- 38:43Speaker 1: but the work on the trees is very intense. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 38:47Speaker 6: Those are beautiful trees.
- 38:48Speaker 1: If you've got a hobby that looks peaceful but is
- 38:50Speaker 1: actually stressful, call 877-937-1047. Fish tanks. It says fish tanks,
- 38:55Speaker 1: especially reef tanks, planted ones and saltwater ones. Yeah, because you.
- 39:00Speaker 10: Have to keep the pH of the water just right.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Oh, what about like gardening in general? Like keeping up
- 39:05Speaker 6: with your plants and making sure that they don't die
- 39:08Speaker 6: and that the pests aren't eating your stuff. Yeah, that
- 39:10Speaker 6: would make sense. Yeah, it could be a little stressful.
- 39:11Speaker 6: And plus, people love their plants.
- 39:13Speaker 1: I don't see gardening on here, but I do see
- 39:15Speaker 1: sewing on here, which is brought up earlier. It's just sewing.
- 39:17Speaker 1: One person said sewing is great as long as you
- 39:18Speaker 1: don't tell anyone you sew. Others added knitting and crocheting.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Among other things, people ask for things not realizing how
- 39:24Speaker 1: time-consuming and expensive it can be. So sewing.
- 39:27Speaker 10: Beekeeping.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Beekeeping. is a hobby that is very stressful. It consists
- 39:31Speaker 1: of trying to keep your hive alive. And if you're
- 39:34Speaker 1: too successful, half of them F off and leave. Raising chickens.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Raising chickens is a hobby that is very stressful. Chickens
- 39:46Speaker 1: are chaotic and vicious. Dylan, your family raises chickens, and
- 39:49Speaker 1: Dylan's not there. Dylan's not there.
- 39:51Speaker 2: They do.
- 39:51Speaker 4: And she said that her mom, like, goes all out
- 39:53Speaker 4: with the chickens, like, has a chicken palace.
- 39:55Speaker 10: Each one of them has fancy names.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Cluckingham Palace.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:59Speaker 10: That's so funny.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Good morning. Hi, Dylan's not here answering phones. Can I
- 40:04Speaker 1: help you? Who's this?
- 40:05Speaker 3: Oh, hi.
- 40:06Speaker 10: Yes, hi.
- 40:07Speaker 3: My name is Sarah.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Hi, Sarah.
- 40:10Speaker 6: Hi.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Hi, I, oh, and Kyle and Peyton.
- 40:14Speaker 10: Hi, Sarah.
- 40:16Speaker 14: Hi.
- 40:17Speaker 3: I wanted to call in to say a stressful hobby, coloring.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Why is that stressful?
- 40:26Speaker 3: Because when you have an ADHD brain like I do,
- 40:30Speaker 3: how are you supposed to know what color to pick?
- 40:32Speaker 3: Like there's so many color markers and then you got
- 40:36Speaker 3: to make sure that like, okay, if this color's for this,
- 40:38Speaker 3: then what's this color.
- 40:39Speaker 6: Going to be?
- 40:40Speaker 3: And if it's not, like, a color by number, then
- 40:42Speaker 3: I'm just, like, this is too much.
- 40:44Speaker 9: For my brain.
- 40:45Speaker 6: I get that, though. Even though I know they say, like,
- 40:47Speaker 6: coloring is really supposed to help you, like, decompress, but
- 40:50Speaker 6: not you, Sarah.
- 40:50Speaker 1: You got to stay in the line.
- 40:51Speaker 8: It is.
- 40:53Speaker 3: It is. It is. But, yeah, if it's, like, the
- 40:55Speaker 3: color by number, I'm okay. But if it's, like, a
- 40:58Speaker 3: big coloring thing and then you have, like, 40 different
- 41:00Speaker 3: colored markers, I'm like, okay, I got to, like.
- 41:02Speaker 9: Really, I got to plan it out.
- 41:04Speaker 6: Are you a Libra by chance?
- 41:07Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 41:07Speaker 9: I'm a Taurus.
- 41:08Speaker 8: Mm.
- 41:09Speaker 2: You feel like Taurus in general color with purpose?
- 41:12Speaker 6: No, I feel like Libras struggle with making decisions in general.
- 41:15Speaker 6: So that would be difficult to pick a color.
- 41:16Speaker 9: Yeah, I think that's just like ADH brain in general.
- 41:21Speaker 9: Like it's that it's the executive function and the executive
- 41:25Speaker 9: decision making that you struggle with. And that's just what
- 41:29Speaker 9: that is in general.
- 41:31Speaker 3: People ask me where I want to go to Quito.
- 41:32Speaker 7: I'm like, I don't know.
- 41:33Speaker 3: This is too difficult.
- 41:34Speaker 9: You pick, and I'll just meet you there.
- 41:36Speaker 1: So let me go over a couple of these other
- 41:38Speaker 1: hobbies with you, Sarah. By the way, Peyton, I apologize.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Growing roses is on there. Because you said gardening. It
- 41:44Speaker 1: isn't a hobby. It's a horticultural masochism. Swing dancing. It
- 41:49Speaker 1: gets very competitive and clicky very quickly.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Clicky? Who knew? The swing dance crowd.
- 41:53Speaker 1: It says painting. So I'm going to put coloring on it.
- 41:55Speaker 1: It says painting. You want every single stroke to turn
- 41:57Speaker 1: out perfect because there's no simple undo button. I don't
- 42:00Speaker 1: know what this is. Rock hounding. You end up with
- 42:02Speaker 1: a bunch of boxes of cool rocks and nowhere to
- 42:04Speaker 1: put them. And telescopes. Telescopes is. Anyway, Sarah, thank you
- 42:09Speaker 1: for listening.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you guys.
- 42:12Speaker 9: Have a wonderful day.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Have a great day. Okay, we need a contestant for
- 42:15Speaker 1: Minute to Win at 877-937-1047. Dylan, I asked her to
- 42:20Speaker 1: come in here to stay in here because we were
- 42:23Speaker 1: talking about hobbies that are stressful. One of the top
- 42:25Speaker 1: hobbies that are stressful is raising chickens. And you have
- 42:28Speaker 1: a bunch of.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Chickens, right?
- 42:29Speaker 16: Yes, we do have a bunch of chickens. I will
- 42:31Speaker 16: say my mom takes the kind of reins of it all,
- 42:34Speaker 16: but we do have like, I think, 12 chickens.
- 42:36Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Is it stressful?
- 42:38Speaker 5: It's a lot, I will say.
- 42:40Speaker 16: So we started out with four and it was just
- 42:42Speaker 16: like a wire fence, no top, like in the corner
- 42:45Speaker 16: of our backyard. And two of them flew out and
- 42:48Speaker 16: got killed by our dogs.
- 42:49Speaker 2: They flew to kill. Oh my God.
- 42:51Speaker 6: That's pretty stressful. Yeah, it was a learning moment.
- 42:54Speaker 16: Now we have literally, I've sent you guys the picture,
- 42:56Speaker 16: like the whole coop, it's literally a mini version of
- 42:59Speaker 16: our house with like... cover a sea, like everything that
- 43:03Speaker 16: you could need. My grandpa is like a master carpenter.
- 43:06Speaker 16: So like my mom has literally thought of everything.
- 43:08Speaker 1: But are the chickens like, cause now you have 12,
- 43:10Speaker 1: would it start from the, did they just reproduce or
- 43:13Speaker 1: did you go buy more chickens?
- 43:14Speaker 5: We buy more.
- 43:15Speaker 16: So like, she'll get like four at a time, the
- 43:18Speaker 16: little chicks and then they live on our laundry room
- 43:20Speaker 16: counter and you can hear them like.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Peep, peep, peep, peep in the morning. Oh, that's so fun.
- 43:23Speaker 10: They kind of smell bad after a while.
- 43:25Speaker 16: So then they move outside, and then they have to
- 43:27Speaker 16: live in a little dog crate next to the chickens,
- 43:30Speaker 16: because chickens are actually really mean to each other.
- 43:32Speaker 1: But how come they go buy chickens? How come you
- 43:33Speaker 1: don't just make them since you have chickens? Don't have
- 43:35Speaker 1: a rooster?
- 43:35Speaker 6: Well, yeah, we don't have a rooster.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Oh, well, you need one of those.
- 43:37Speaker 16: Because you're not allowed to in the city limits.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Oh, you're not allowed to have a rooster. Oh, because
- 43:41Speaker 1: they cock-a-doodle-doo.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Mm-hmm. Because they cock-a-doodle-doo. Because they cock-a-doodle-doo.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Exactly that.
- 43:45Speaker 10: Yeah, and your neighbors are going to be like.
- 43:46Speaker 5: Zip it, rooster.
- 43:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Rooster would like to hang out in that neighborhood, though.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Speaking of neighbors, I got to tell you, I posted
- 43:54Speaker 1: part of the video on my Instagram yesterday. So, you know,
- 43:56Speaker 1: we got cars and canines. It's a big event happening
- 43:58Speaker 1: on Saturday, right? And it's going to be Saturday at
- 44:01Speaker 1: D-Pet Hotel in North Scottsdale. And it's a really, really
- 44:04Speaker 1: cool event. And you can see, if you're into these
- 44:05Speaker 1: luxury cars, there's like Ferraris and Lamborghinis and McLarens, stuff
- 44:09Speaker 1: that you, like, you know, you don't really get to
- 44:11Speaker 1: sit in these cars and see them ever. So you
- 44:13Speaker 1: get to see them close up and not have to
- 44:14Speaker 1: worry about People look at the owner coming out going,
- 44:17Speaker 1: don't look at my car. So Luxury Auto Collection lets me,
- 44:21Speaker 1: they want me to drive a car. They put me
- 44:23Speaker 1: in a car. I drive it. I promote it because
- 44:24Speaker 1: I'm promoting the event on the Saturday. So I was
- 44:27Speaker 1: driving this Lamborghini for a day or two and I
- 44:30Speaker 1: traded it in yesterday. And they tell me, pick out
- 44:33Speaker 1: whatever car you want. But that's stressful. Talk about a
- 44:36Speaker 1: stressful hobby.
- 44:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:37Speaker 2: So you don't want to, you don't want to like,
- 44:39Speaker 2: like even scratch or anything.
- 44:41Speaker 10: Some of their cars are worth like $ 600, 000.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Like even just like all it's going to take is
- 44:46Speaker 4: like a rock. You leave the place in a rock
- 44:49Speaker 4: shooting up and doing some damage. That's going to cost
- 44:51Speaker 4: you now.
- 44:52Speaker 1: So they go. So I said to them and I
- 44:53Speaker 1: was in a group text. I said to John, the owner,
- 44:55Speaker 1: I go, just pick one out for me. So I just,
- 44:57Speaker 1: and I can, I don't want to stress with it.
- 44:58Speaker 1: I just pick one out. So he picks out this
- 45:01Speaker 1: Ferrari that costs $ 550, 000.
- 45:01Speaker 6: Okay.
- 45:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 45:05Speaker 1: And it's sitting in the driveway for me to pick up.
- 45:09Speaker 1: When I get in the car, it is the loudest
- 45:12Speaker 1: car I've ever heard in my life. And I tried
- 45:14Speaker 1: to put it on Instagram, but the sound doesn't compute.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I went from their dealership to go to Lucy's to
- 45:21Speaker 1: have something to eat, which is a mile and a
- 45:23Speaker 1: half away. And my ears hurt so bad that I said, hey,
- 45:27Speaker 1: I got to turn this car back in. And I
- 45:29Speaker 1: felt like back in the day, Rich used to punch
- 45:31Speaker 1: my man card. And I was like, man.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I still have it right here. I can punch it
- 45:35Speaker 2: for you right now.
- 45:40Speaker 1: That's not it. Not anymore.
- 45:41Speaker 8: There you go.
- 45:41Speaker 1: So I had to like go, I am so sorry.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I have to give you this car back. I cannot
- 45:47Speaker 1: drive this car for a day. I just can't.
- 45:50Speaker 2: They used to not put radios in Ferraris because they
- 45:52Speaker 2: think you should listen to the engine.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I think it was one of those. I don't think
- 45:54Speaker 1: there was a radio. Like I had, my friend was
- 45:57Speaker 1: with me. We had to use his phone for navigation.
- 46:00Speaker 1: He had to hold it up because there's none of
- 46:01Speaker 1: that in this car. And I'm like, 550,000, there better
- 46:04Speaker 1: be a freaking navigation screen.
- 46:06Speaker 2: There's no track in it.
- 46:07Speaker 6: What?
- 46:08Speaker 14: What?
- 46:08Speaker 6: There's like no tech in the car at all.
- 46:10Speaker 1: No, it's just a beautiful car. And it was so loud.
- 46:12Speaker 1: So anyway, talk about neighbors, the chickens waking up the neighbors,
- 46:14Speaker 1: the Ferrari. So I said, plus when I start this car,
- 46:17Speaker 1: but three o'clock in the morning, it's going to wake
- 46:19Speaker 1: up my whole street. Oh yeah.
- 46:20Speaker 10: You're going to hear from Judith.
- 46:23Speaker 1: So I had to turn it back in.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Was it fun to drive for a minute?
- 46:28Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie to you.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Did you like it?
- 46:30Speaker 1: I did not like driving it. It was so stressful.
- 46:32Speaker 10: You know what he did say?
- 46:34Speaker 4: Because we were talking about it yesterday before you texted John.
- 46:38Speaker 10: And you're like, what should I say? What should I get?
- 46:40Speaker 10: Maybe something with some pizzazz. It did have pizzazz.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I mean pizzazz when you look at it.
- 46:46Speaker 4: When you looked at it on the inside and the outside,
- 46:49Speaker 4: it had pizzazz.
- 46:49Speaker 10: But maybe you had to have an asterisk. But also,
- 46:53Speaker 10: I need to be able to hear.
- 46:55Speaker 1: So this car will be at Cars and Canines. on
- 46:58Speaker 1: Saturday at 8 a.m., I encourage you to come out
- 47:00Speaker 1: and hang out. There's gonna be food trucks, there's gonna
- 47:02Speaker 1: be coffee, all that stuff, and cars, and canines.
- 47:07Speaker 10: So did you trade it, or did you just say,
- 47:09Speaker 10: I'm good?
- 47:10Speaker 1: No, I traded, and they put me in a $ 550, 000
- 47:11Speaker 1: Rolls Royce. Dear Lord. Does it have the stars on
- 47:16Speaker 1: the sky? Yeah, I posted it on my Instagram.
- 47:18Speaker 10: Do you feel like a Kardashian when you're driving?
- 47:20Speaker 1: I feel like somebody that shouldn't be in that car.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I watched some video on YouTube of how they make those,
- 47:25Speaker 2: and it takes them five months to make that car
- 47:27Speaker 2: because everything's done by hand.
- 47:28Speaker 1: So those cars will be on display. You can see
- 47:30Speaker 1: them this Saturday, 8 a.m. at Cars and Canines. And
- 47:33Speaker 1: then after that, after that event is over, then you
- 47:36Speaker 1: go to Glendale, go to Sanderson Ford, Starts at 5 p.m.,
- 47:39Speaker 1: Trunk or Treat. Priscilla's going to be here with the
- 47:41Speaker 1: KISS crew. Just trunk or treating, face painting, a whole
- 47:44Speaker 1: cool event for your whole family. That starts at 5
- 47:47Speaker 1: at Sanderson Ford. All right, let's play Minute to Win It.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Good morning, Joanna.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Joanna, tell us a little fun fact about yourself. I
- 47:56Speaker 1: think that's a big thing I've been doing. We hit
- 47:57Speaker 1: a home run.
- 47:58Speaker 13: Yeah, fun fact about myself.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, fun fact about yourself. I don't know.
- 48:03Speaker 13: I'm an artist.
- 48:04Speaker 1: What kind of artist?
- 48:06Speaker 12: Painting, mostly.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Oh, that fits in with this painting. Very stressful. Is
- 48:09Speaker 1: painting stressful at all, Joanna?
- 48:12Speaker 12: Yes, because perfectionism.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Well, who's your favorite artist?
- 48:19Speaker 12: Gosh, that's a good question.
- 48:23Speaker 7: Cezanne, I think.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Trayvon?
- 48:25Speaker 13: I like impressionism.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Oh, like someone who does voices?
- 48:32Speaker 2: What do we got here? A painting?
- 48:35Speaker 1: Do Picasso painting.
- 48:36Speaker 2: This is going to be beautiful.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Here we go. Let's play.
- 48:42Speaker 4: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000 cash for you from
- 48:45Speaker 4: Peoria Ford right now.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Minute to win it.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Joanna, here we go. 60 seconds on the clock. Let's
- 48:51Speaker 2: get you $ 1, 000. What character's name do you have to
- 48:55Speaker 2: say three times to summon him to a Tim Burton
- 48:59Speaker 2: movie starring Michael Keaton?
- 49:01Speaker 12: Beetlejuice.
- 49:04Speaker 2: What social media platform uses a little blue bird as
- 49:07Speaker 2: its logo? Oh, there you go. Before becoming X. In
- 49:13Speaker 2: what casino card game are you trying to get as
- 49:15Speaker 2: close to 21 as possible?
- 49:18Speaker 1: Oh, my God. What is.
- 49:22Speaker 14: It?
- 49:23Speaker 8: Is it?
- 49:27Speaker 1: What is it?
- 49:28Speaker 6: What is it?
- 49:28Speaker 1: What is it?
- 49:28Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Blackjack. What cheese has traditionally crumbled on a Greek salad?
- 49:35Speaker 6: Feta.
- 49:36Speaker 8: Feta.
- 49:38Speaker 2: What is Dia de las Muertas in English mean?
- 49:42Speaker 7: Day of the Dead?
- 49:44Speaker 2: What mineral is added to toothpaste to help prevent cavities?
- 49:48Speaker 6: Fluoride.
- 49:50Speaker 2: What gemstone is the traditional birthstone for October?
- 49:54Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 49:59Speaker 3: That one's a good one.
- 50:04Speaker 6: We ran out of time.
- 50:06Speaker 10: It's an Opal, right?
- 50:07Speaker 2: It is an Opal, Kyle. You are correct.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Did you Google that or you knew?
- 50:10Speaker 5: It's my birthstone.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 4: And I always felt like I got Opal and my
- 50:14Speaker 4: sister was born in April and she got diamond. And
- 50:16Speaker 4: I'm like, what the heck?
- 50:16Speaker 6: That sucks.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Well, Joanna, we're going to send you the gift card to,
- 50:21Speaker 1: where is it? Del Taco. Del Taco. Okay. All right.
- 50:23Speaker 13: Thanks, Joanna.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 50:25Speaker 8: Thank you for listening. Bye-bye. Bye.
- 50:28Speaker 1: It's funny because I'm in September. I don't know my birthstone.
- 50:33Speaker 4: I don't know what September's birthstone is either.
- 50:35Speaker 6: Let's see.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Is that something everyone should know? Is that something everyone
- 50:38Speaker 1: should know?
- 50:39Speaker 6: Your birthstone? September birthstone is a sapphire.
- 50:43Speaker 1: What is that?
- 50:43Speaker 10: Ooh, that's the blue one. I love sapphires.
- 50:45Speaker 11: Nice.
- 50:46Speaker 6: Yeah. Blue.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Hey, earlier we were talking about regrets. Regrets. Listen to this.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Gen Z is giving the lower back tattoo a rebrand
- 50:57Speaker 1: because if you think about tattoos, a lot of people
- 50:58Speaker 1: get regrets from getting a tattoo, right? So... We know
- 51:03Speaker 1: it as the tramp stamp. But now Gen Z wants
- 51:07Speaker 1: to change it. Here's some of the options. Booty mark.
- 51:11Speaker 2: Like that.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Hey, weren't you talking about getting a tramp stamp or something?
- 51:14Speaker 6: I think I was not talking about that, but I
- 51:17Speaker 6: would maybe be down.
- 51:18Speaker 1: You never brought it up? I feel like you brought
- 51:20Speaker 1: up a tramp stamp.
- 51:20Speaker 6: I probably have.
- 51:22Speaker 2: I think you said they were coming back.
- 51:23Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 51:23Speaker 6: Or maybe they're coming back.
- 51:26Speaker 2: I was like.
- 51:27Speaker 1: But I did not. There's booty mark. There's discount tag,
- 51:30Speaker 1: bumper sticker and Jersey plate or bumper stickers.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 51:33Speaker 6: Bumper sticker.
- 51:36Speaker 1: All descriptive, but maybe not the nicest. So Gen Z
- 51:39Speaker 1: wants to officially change the name of tramp stamp to
- 51:43Speaker 1: cake topper.
- 51:45Speaker 6: Cake topper cake. That's funny because it's on top of
- 51:49Speaker 6: your cake.
- 51:50Speaker 2: I can see that catching on.
- 51:51Speaker 6: Yeah, but I still like champ stamp. There's just something
- 51:53Speaker 6: nostalgic about it. It rhymes.
- 51:54Speaker 15: Yeah, it does.
- 51:55Speaker 10: It's easy to say.
- 51:56Speaker 1: It does rhyme.
- 51:56Speaker 4: I feel like if you found something that rhymed, I
- 51:59Speaker 4: feel like it could be a good contender to replace it.
- 52:02Speaker 6: Until then, I don't know.
- 52:05Speaker 1: All right, so I got this email and I posted
- 52:12Speaker 1: it on my Facebook. It says, what's up, guys? And
- 52:14Speaker 1: good morning. My name is Adam, and I just got
- 52:16Speaker 1: into an argument with a friend of mine over the
- 52:18Speaker 1: fact that I don't understand what she does for a living.
- 52:22Speaker 1: She made me feel like a dumb a-hole for not
- 52:24Speaker 1: understanding what a market analyst does.
- 52:26Speaker 8: Oh.
- 52:27Speaker 1: I'm an electrician. I don't expect to understand how I
- 52:29Speaker 1: put in a lighting fixture, replace a refuse box. And
- 52:31Speaker 1: when I told her that, she said, yes, but I
- 52:33Speaker 1: know that's what you do. She told me she works
- 52:36Speaker 1: on a team to analyze market, and then he gets into.
- 52:38Speaker 11: It all, right?
- 52:38Speaker 1: And he goes, so now I'm an a-hole for not
- 52:40Speaker 1: understanding what she does, and why is it such a
- 52:42Speaker 1: big deal? She's not my girlfriend. We're just friends. So
- 52:45Speaker 1: I posted up there and I was like, it reminded
- 52:46Speaker 1: me of Chandler. I remember on the show Friends, people
- 52:49Speaker 1: never knew what Chandler did for a living, right? So
- 52:52Speaker 1: then there's quite a few comments. But one comment I thought,
- 52:56Speaker 1: this is interesting. It's from someone named Amber. Amber says,
- 52:59Speaker 1: I've been married 15 years. I have no idea what
- 53:03Speaker 1: it is my husband actually does for work. I know
- 53:06Speaker 1: his title and it means nothing to me, LOL. I'm
- 53:09Speaker 1: not even sure he knows what he does. And then
- 53:12Speaker 1: she goes, your friend is a little self-important is what
- 53:14Speaker 1: she said.
- 53:14Speaker 2: And I was.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Just like, is that, does anybody understand? Is that, is
- 53:18Speaker 1: that real? Like, does there other, anybody else that is
- 53:21Speaker 1: in that situation?
- 53:22Speaker 6: You know, it's fair.
- 53:22Speaker 10: I have a friend who like, we, we would ask
- 53:24Speaker 10: what her husband does.
- 53:25Speaker 4: She's like, I don't really know how to explain it,
- 53:29Speaker 4: but like, they say like, you know, the title is
- 53:31Speaker 4: venture capitalist. Nobody knows, but that's what her husband did.
- 53:36Speaker 4: And she's like, I don't really understand.
- 53:38Speaker 1: I know two people that are venture capitalists and they
- 53:40Speaker 1: say it so fast. I don't know if they're, venture
- 53:42Speaker 1: capitalists or adventure capitalists?
- 53:45Speaker 10: That one sounds more fun.
- 53:46Speaker 1: That does sound fun. So you're an adventure capitalist? That's right.
- 53:50Speaker 2: If you're going to jump out of a plane, I
- 53:51Speaker 2: make money.
- 53:52Speaker 1: I'm the guy. I don't understand that. So I just
- 53:55Speaker 1: thought that 877-937-1047, if that's something that is very common,
- 54:00Speaker 1: you don't know what your husband does or what your
- 54:01Speaker 1: wife does, I just don't know. Meanwhile, food news. What
- 54:05Speaker 1: do we got for food news? And now, John Jay
- 54:09Speaker 1: and Rich present.
- 54:12Speaker 5: Food News.
- 54:13Speaker 6: Food News. John Jay and Rich have Food News.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Oh, Peyton, you're going to be so excited about this.
- 54:20Speaker 2: You know what's making a huge comeback in the liquor-getting-drunk world?
- 54:24Speaker 6: Ooh, tell me, what?
- 54:25Speaker 2: It's the Appletini. It is the drink, the iconic 90s drink,
- 54:30Speaker 2: is fall's trendiest drink. It's vodka, sour apple pucker, in
- 54:34Speaker 2: lemon juice, shaken over ice. And apparently, in bars across
- 54:37Speaker 2: the land, that's what people are drinking at restaurants and
- 54:40Speaker 2: bars more than anything else.
- 54:42Speaker 6: That sounds delicious.
- 54:43Speaker 2: I've never heard you mention an Appletini, though.
- 54:45Speaker 6: I love a good martini. Any kind of teeny.
- 54:47Speaker 2: So I would definitely love an Appletini. Appletini's on the run.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Taco Bell letting celebrities pick your dinner now for National
- 54:53Speaker 2: Taco Month. They're offering favorite orders from Kevin Hart, Paris Hilton,
- 54:57Speaker 2: and Doja Cat. Each meal, four bucks.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Who's this?
- 55:00Speaker 2: Who's this? This is Taco Bell. So Doja Cat, Kevin Hart,
- 55:03Speaker 2: Paris Hilton. Did I miss one there?
- 55:05Speaker 1: You know, if those are real, I would really, really
- 55:09Speaker 1: be into that if it's really.
- 55:11Speaker 4: I'm into it because it's a $ 4 meal.
- 55:13Speaker 1: But if a $ 4 meal is great, but if you
- 55:15Speaker 1: tell me that's literally what Doja Cat gets, I would
- 55:17Speaker 1: be so jacked to get her food.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. And as I said, there's going
- 55:21Speaker 2: to be a special $ 1 Tuesday deal for rewards members, too.
- 55:24Speaker 2: So you could get the $ 4 meal for $ 1. So
- 55:26Speaker 2: you might grab that app. And finally, John Jay, I
- 55:29Speaker 2: think this is kind of interesting for us. I'm a
- 55:31Speaker 2: big chili person this time of year. But who makes
- 55:34Speaker 2: the healthiest chili? Wendy's or Culver's?
- 55:38Speaker 1: Well, I've had Wendy's many, many times. I've never had Culver's,
- 55:40Speaker 1: so I'm going to go with Wendy's.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Okay, so Wendy's chili, 280 calories. And let's see, Culver's,
- 55:48Speaker 2: 310 calories. Culver's has more protein, but Wendy's has way
- 55:54Speaker 2: more salt, 1,000 milligrams of salt. And, oh, wait, I
- 56:00Speaker 2: take that back. Actually, 1,500 milligrams of salt in Culver's.
- 56:05Speaker 2: So Wendy's wins, but neither one is shy with the salt.
- 56:08Speaker 2: If you're looking for your salt intake, go get some
- 56:10Speaker 2: chilies from either Wendy's or Culver's. And that is your
- 56:12Speaker 2: food news.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Did you guys even notice how cold it was today? Yeah.
- 56:17Speaker 2: This morning?
- 56:18Speaker 4: Literally yesterday, Scott, you know my husband loves the weather.
- 56:20Speaker 4: He's like, the weather has turned.
- 56:22Speaker 1: It sure has. It was 58 degrees. I went outside
- 56:25Speaker 1: this morning. 58 degrees.
- 56:27Speaker 6: Oh, so that means it's going to be a little
- 56:28Speaker 6: chilly on Halloween night.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:30Speaker 6: That's what I was thinking too. Which I always low-key
- 56:33Speaker 6: was so irritated when Halloween was a little cold because
- 56:35Speaker 6: it totally ruined my outfit. I know.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but you should want it to be a little cold.
- 56:40Speaker 2: You know, you should want a little chill in the air.
- 56:41Speaker 6: A little chilly, but not enough where it's going to
- 56:43Speaker 6: ruin my outfit and I need a jacket.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Well, like it was, I went to the Suns game,
- 56:47Speaker 1: preseason game on Saturday. And it was 80. And I
- 56:50Speaker 1: was like, I better wear a jacket.
- 56:51Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 56:54Speaker 1: That's how it is here. That's how it is here.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Now it's 58 this morning. I'm like, dang, man, I'm freezing. Like,
- 56:59Speaker 1: it's cold. But it's such a, it's like when I
- 57:03Speaker 1: walk outside and I feel the cold and I breathe
- 57:05Speaker 1: in the air, I'm like, this is why I live here.
- 57:07Speaker 1: This is awesome. And then I miss the heat when
- 57:10Speaker 1: you walk outside.
- 57:12Speaker 2: That does feel good out of this building.
- 57:14Speaker 1: We should just pick our own weather.
- 57:17Speaker 2: I mean, we're pretty good in Arizona. You get like, what, six,
- 57:20Speaker 2: five months of pretty nice.
- 57:21Speaker 10: And this is like, this is the best time of
- 57:23Speaker 10: the year.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Right now. Yeah, I think so.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Now through spring. A Halloween, my wife, and you know,
- 57:28Speaker 1: we've talked a lot about Mahjong. This game, it's just
- 57:31Speaker 1: blowing up, right? I mean, Kyle, you guys are doing
- 57:33Speaker 1: a Mahjong thing pretty soon, right?
- 57:34Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 57:36Speaker 1: My wife got so excited because she got invited to
- 57:38Speaker 1: a witch-themed Mahjong party on Friday. Witch-themed party. and with
- 57:44Speaker 1: apparently some people that are really good at Mahjong. So
- 57:46Speaker 1: she felt that she upgraded her game, that the fact
- 57:48Speaker 1: that she got invited to this party and I've never
- 57:51Speaker 1: played Mahjong. I've looked at it. It seems extremely complicated.
- 57:54Speaker 1: I don't want to know how to play it. And
- 57:55Speaker 1: I go, so when you say witch theme, what exactly
- 57:57Speaker 1: does that mean? I go, you guys dressed as witches.
- 58:00Speaker 1: She's like, no, when you go down to play the Mahjong,
- 58:04Speaker 1: there's going to be like a hat rack. That's going
- 58:06Speaker 1: to have witch hats on it.
- 58:08Speaker 2: That's it.
- 58:08Speaker 1: I'm like, That's it?
- 58:09Speaker 2: She goes, yeah.
- 58:11Speaker 1: You get all dressed up. And I'm like, that's it. Huh?
- 58:13Speaker 6: You get all dressed up.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Like a witch?
- 58:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 8: No.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Not here.
- 58:16Speaker 10: She said you just wear the hats.
- 58:18Speaker 1: I don't even think you wear the hat. Well, maybe
- 58:20Speaker 1: you wear the hat.
- 58:20Speaker 2: There's a hat rack.
- 58:21Speaker 10: Why would you not wear the hat?
- 58:23Speaker 1: I'm just telling you what she told me. She said
- 58:25Speaker 1: there's a hat rack with witch's hats on it.
- 58:28Speaker 4: What if she goes there and everyone's all decked out
- 58:31Speaker 4: and she just has the hat?
- 58:32Speaker 1: What if? There's a thousand what.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Ifs. That's as confusing as Mahjong itself.
- 58:39Speaker 1: I don't know if you can play Mahjong and dress
- 58:41Speaker 1: as a witch. Maybe the nails get in the way.
- 58:43Speaker 10: She needs to bring a cloak and have it in
- 58:44Speaker 10: her trunk just in case.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Is Mahjong the game that they're playing in Crazy Rich Asians?
- 58:49Speaker 2: The mom's playing?
- 58:50Speaker 1: I believe so.
- 58:50Speaker 2: That's the one?
- 58:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 58:51Speaker 2: That looks complicated.
- 58:52Speaker 6: When you go.
- 59:00Speaker 1: There's a debate going on with Kyle and her friends,
- 59:01Speaker 1: but this is a perfect segue. Jess, who is the
- 59:06Speaker 1: executive director of Love Pop and Love Up, and she's
- 59:09Speaker 1: also a marathon runner and Olympic person. Superstar. And going
- 59:13Speaker 1: to be in the world trials and represent us. She's amazing, right?
- 59:16Speaker 2: One of our best humans.
- 59:17Speaker 1: She just texted me something, and I said, you've got
- 59:20Speaker 1: to jump on there with us. She just texted me
- 59:21Speaker 1: because we were talking. Well, Jess, good morning. Hi, Jess.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Hello.
- 59:25Speaker 9: Hi.
- 59:25Speaker 15: How are you guys?
- 59:26Speaker 1: Great. Hey, can you just explain to Peyton, Rich and
- 59:30Speaker 1: Kyle what you just texted me, please?
- 59:33Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 59:33Speaker 13: So my high school friends were a good time. We're
- 59:37Speaker 13: all super fun, but had the great idea of because
- 59:41Speaker 13: we realized like none of us knew what each other
- 59:43Speaker 13: did for work. We'd all be like, oh, yeah, like Haley. Actually,
- 59:47Speaker 13: I don't know what Haley does. And Lauren's a physical therapist,
- 59:50Speaker 13: I think. So we all got together.
- 59:52Speaker 8: It was like.
- 59:52Speaker 13: Probably 15 of us. And we put like five to
- 59:55Speaker 13: eight power slips. like PowerPoint slides together each and presented
- 59:58Speaker 13: our jobs to each other. It was like a happy hour.
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: So it was super fun.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Here's what I do. That's what, that's what your PowerPoint was.
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: I love that.
- 1:00:06Speaker 10: That's so funny.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:06Speaker 10: Because there are three of my friends and I don't
- 1:00:08Speaker 10: know what they do.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Right. Oh yeah.
- 1:00:11Speaker 13: Like three of my friends are like, Had just like crazy,
- 1:00:13Speaker 13: you know, I won't say badass on air, but like crazy.
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: Awesome jobs.
- 1:00:17Speaker 13: And we were like, oh my God, I had no
- 1:00:18Speaker 13: idea you worked for like the department of agriculture. It
- 1:00:21Speaker 13: was super fun.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: So you're talking about, cause I was talking, I get
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: that this person didn't know what their friend did for
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: a living and she got all upset. And so I
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: was like, uh, is this relatable and absolutely 15 friends
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: and you know what they do how would we do
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: that here's what we do for a living do a
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: radio show yeah.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Let's host a morning radio show it's like morning announcements
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: in high school explain.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: What you explain to us what you do for a
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: living what explain to us what you do for a living.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Well i mean i guess i'm two things i'm.
- 1:00:55Speaker 13: The executive director of a few nonprofits. And I also
- 1:00:58Speaker 13: am a professional runner, but sometimes a professional running is
- 1:01:01Speaker 13: a little weirder to explain. So, um, but yeah, you fun.
- 1:01:07Speaker 13: Am I on air right now?
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:10Speaker 13: Oh my God.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: That's what we do for a living. Jess, we do
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: a radio show, which you are, you are intimately familiar with.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: I would think.
- 1:01:20Speaker 15: Oh my gosh.
- 1:01:21Speaker 13: But yes, I, so I help with both the love
- 1:01:24Speaker 13: up and love put foundations, which is the best job ever.
- 1:01:27Speaker 13: We have family fast coming up. So I get to
- 1:01:29Speaker 13: wear like multiple hats with, you know, event planning and
- 1:01:33Speaker 13: business development and sponsorship relations.
- 1:01:36Speaker 8: And, um, just the best job ever.
- 1:01:38Speaker 13: And then, yeah, when I'm not doing that, I'm running
- 1:01:41Speaker 13: in circles all over town professionally.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: We have not done yet. And I've pitched this so
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: many times. Like I think because Jess is a professional runner, um,
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: And she also represents Love Pup. We should have a
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: race like a schnauzer. See who wins.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: She would be the schnauzer.
- 1:01:56Speaker 10: She would win.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: No way could she be the schnauzer.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: So Jess just brought up Love Pup Family Fest. We'll
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: give the details. Family Fest is November 7th. Vitrucio Farms
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: in Mesa starts at 4 p.m. A free show with
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Gavin DeGraw live in concert. Also, Gino Plager from America's
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Got Talent. ASU student magician is going to be performing.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: The Rich Bear Band. The biggest dog rescue adoption event
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: in the Valley with over 20 plus dog rescues on site.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Bring your furry friend. Find a new one to take home.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Admission is free with a dog donation, like leashes, puppy pads, whatever.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: So it's coming up November 7th. Thanks, Jess.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Thanks, guys.
- 1:02:30Speaker 13: I didn't know I was actually live.
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: One more thing. Have you already run this morning?
- 1:02:36Speaker 13: I just got done with 14 miles, so now I'm responding.
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: To some emails.
- 1:02:41Speaker 13: Got to blow up John Jay's computer here in a minute.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I'm touching it so much. All right, Jess, have a
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: great day. Thanks for jumping on the air with us.
- 1:02:48Speaker 8: Bye, you guys.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Speaking of friends.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I'm in the middle of a debate.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: And you guys know me, like, when it comes to arguments,
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: I like to see, like, devil's advocate. I like to
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: see both sides of the coin. And now I'm, like,
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: literally in the middle. So a couple of my girlfriends
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: went to dinner. It was, like, a $ 65 dinner.
- 1:03:05Speaker 10: And I wasn't there.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: But one of them paid for dinner and told the
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: other friend, hey, don't worry about it. Okay, so here's
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: where things get sticky. So the other friend didn't worry
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: about it. And then the original friend who paid is
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: now going, how rude. I'm actually really mad at them
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: for not even offering to pay me back. It was
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: like at the time, don't worry about it. I got it,
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: but you should still pay me back.
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Well, for me, I'm kind of siding with the other
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: friend because if you're telling me, like, Kyle, if you
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: and I went to dinner and you were like, oh,
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: I got it. I'd be like, all right, cool. She's
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: got it. I got it next time.
- 1:03:41Speaker 13: Right.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: And then I would leave it at that.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: And here's where I can see both sides in it. Like,
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: I definitely understand that point of view. But then also,
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: if it were me and you paid for my dinner,
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: I would feel like, okay, well, then I have to
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: pay her back in some way. Like, maybe next time
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: I'll get it or something like that. But apparently that
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: hasn't happened.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I think for me. What was the exact phrase?
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: She said, don't worry about it.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: I got it.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Okay. So you say, don't worry about it. I got it.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I think the person's got it. I'm good. But maybe
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: they need a little bit. Don't worry. If you expect
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: to get paid back, don't worry. I got it. Get
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: me later. Something like that.
- 1:04:14Speaker 10: She needed that.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: She needed that.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: You get the next one or I'll get the next one.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: What about you? So it almost sounds like to me,
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: if I'm trying to see both sides, the only reason
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: the other friend would be mad is if maybe there
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: was some discussion about, The other one asked them to
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: dinner and maybe they didn't have their, their, their money handy.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: So it's like, don't worry about it. So that means
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: don't stress about it, but pay me back when you
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: can is what that means. So I would assume there
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: was a little further conversation.
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: But I don't think we know everything. Like we're, we're
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: not getting the full.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: I don't think we are.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. They say, don't worry about it.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I think that means don't.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Worry about it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I forgot. Like,
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: don't worry about it. Kind of means like, don't stress
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: about it. But if you're going to pay me back,
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: pay me back.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: So I feel like advice wise, I have to be like,
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: You said don't worry about it. If you wanted to
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: get paid back, you should have said like what you said,
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: John Jay. Maybe just get me next time or get
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: me later or whenever you have the cash.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Isn't that kind of the dude rules? Like, I got it.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: You can get the next one. Isn't that kind of
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: like what we do?
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: I feel like a lot of friends kind of move
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: and operate like that.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: It's easier to put one card.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: The problem is, is this one friend is like, like,
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: she's like a penny pincher. So it might have been
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: a risk to accept.
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: The don't worry.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: Also, I feel like if you know that about your
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: friends and you should know your friends, a penny pincher,
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: and you should probably just Venmo her hat anyways when
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: you get home.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're going to hear about it.
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: Let's take one step ahead.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: You say don't worry about it. Then you're making the
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: person worry about it because you're expecting to get paid back.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: It's almost like you go, I got it. It's my treat.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: And then everything's handled.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I got you.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: It's my treat. Then you don't need to expect to
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: be paid back. But don't worry about it means like
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I'm covering for you because you don't have your cash.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Pay me later.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: But you're saying to you. you pay them back.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: It sounds like that's what she's saying when she's saying,
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: don't worry about it. That means for right this moment,
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: but pay me back when you can is what she said.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Don't worry about it to me means don't worry about it.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Right for this moment. You're saying, don't worry about it.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I say, Hey, don't worry about it for this moment.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: There should have been an asterisk. Otherwise she's a liar.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: You are supposed to worry about it.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: I think if you're your friend's snug with a buck,
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: she's looking to get, get paid back.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Remember the other day, speaking of friends, And neighbors, I
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: was talking about, and we did this all in the air,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: the phone number neighbor.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Right, where you call a number off of your phone number,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: and that's your phone number neighbor. It was really fun,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: and my wife, she heard, she listened to the whole thing,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: and she thought it was the greatest thing we've ever done.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: It was really fun because it was really exciting to see,
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: were they going to be good neighbors or not?
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Amy, you have a number neighbor story?
- 1:06:49Speaker 15: Hi, yes, I do, from years ago.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: What happened?
- 1:06:54Speaker 15: OK, so I wanted to remember something. So I text
- 1:06:59Speaker 15: myself so that I would remember to go back to it.
- 1:07:02Speaker 15: I can't remember exactly what it was, but it it
- 1:07:05Speaker 15: didn't really make sense because it was just kind of
- 1:07:07Speaker 15: a quick reminder for me. And I was in the
- 1:07:10Speaker 15: middle of doing something. And then I got a text back,
- 1:07:13Speaker 15: which I didn't see right away. And it was like,
- 1:07:15Speaker 15: who is this? So now maybe it's an hour or
- 1:07:18Speaker 15: so later I respond and I'm like, oh, I'm so sorry.
- 1:07:21Speaker 15: I was texting myself something to to remind myself and
- 1:07:25Speaker 15: I must have just pushed one number wrong. And the
- 1:07:28Speaker 15: person text back and was like, oh, well, I know
- 1:07:32Speaker 15: you're so and so your address is so and so,
- 1:07:36Speaker 15: you know, is this and then like text one other thing.
- 1:07:39Speaker 13: And I'm like, oh, my God.
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: And it was right.
- 1:07:41Speaker 13: It was my name. It was my address. And I
- 1:07:43Speaker 13: was like, oh, my God, who is this?
- 1:07:45Speaker 15: And he said, I'm a private investigator. And when you
- 1:07:47Speaker 15: text me and it was kind of weird, like I'm
- 1:07:50Speaker 15: really funny about, you know, who calls my phone because
- 1:07:53Speaker 15: of my job. And so I looked you up and
- 1:07:56Speaker 15: you really need to do better about making yourself private.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: I don't like that. I don't like that at all.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: I mean, if that was a decent person, they would
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: be like, hey, you missed text. I'm one number off.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: But explaining all that, I do not like that at all.
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: Like he kind of like got you scared for a
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: little bit.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: It was a little threatening. Don't you feel like that?
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Is there more? No.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: So basically I was like, oh, my God.
- 1:08:20Speaker 15: So apparently he gets pretty weird about people texting his
- 1:08:24Speaker 15: phone because of his job.
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: So.
- 1:08:26Speaker 15: When I didn't respond right away, he looked me up.
- 1:08:30Speaker 15: But I was like, oh my God, what can I do?
- 1:08:33Speaker 15: And so he did give me tips on, I think
- 1:08:37Speaker 15: I just had Facebook at the time, but about making
- 1:08:39Speaker 15: myself private and removing certain things. So I did all
- 1:08:43Speaker 15: of that so that I wouldn't be so, I don't know,
- 1:08:47Speaker 15: open online. But after that, he was nice. I did
- 1:08:50Speaker 15: save his number just in case I needed a private investigator,
- 1:08:53Speaker 15: which I never did. And then I got a new
- 1:08:55Speaker 15: phone and I don't know which number neighbor he was.
- 1:08:58Speaker 15: So I don't know now, but.
- 1:09:00Speaker 13: Yeah, he freaked me out. Do you wish.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: You had his number still? Do you wish that you could,
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: you just had him on the back burner in case
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: you need to.
- 1:09:07Speaker 8: Wow.
- 1:09:08Speaker 15: Yes, I had it for years.
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: Just like, I don't know.
- 1:09:11Speaker 15: He just seemed so knowledgeable. So I'm like, maybe I
- 1:09:13Speaker 15: can just be like, hey, remember me?
- 1:09:15Speaker 10: I have this question.
- 1:09:16Speaker 15: But I never ended up needing him.
- 1:09:18Speaker 13: So I wish I had it, though.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Very cool. I'm glad you called, Amy. That's a cool
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: number in every story. Thank you so much. Have a
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: great day. Thanks for listening.
- 1:09:25Speaker 15: Thanks for taking my call.
- 1:09:26Speaker 7: Bye, guys.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Bye.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: We got tickets to the Fastball Comedy Festival still later
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: on today. Charlie XAX tickets in about 20 minutes. And
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: also tomorrow, New Music Friday, we got brand new Tate McRae, Housewife.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: We're going to play that all morning long. For New
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Music Friday. But we got entertainment news coming up. Like?
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: What's coming up?
- 1:09:43Speaker 10: I'll tell you which celebrity sold part of their body.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Friday, not tomorrow. Tomorrow's Thursday.
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: My bad.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I have all this information in front of me,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: you guys.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: I know you meant.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: So Friday is New Music Friday.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: I'm going to tell you which celebrity actually sold part
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: of their body for $ 75, 000.
- 1:09:56Speaker 10: Next with John Jay and Rich. You know, I was.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Talking about not knowing what your friend does for a living.
- 1:10:05Speaker 14: Right.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: And we got a text. Because I say that's what
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Chandler from Friends, no one knew what he did for
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: a living, right? There's a text that says, John Jay,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: everyone knows that Chandler from Friends does statistical analysis and
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: data reconfiguration. Duh.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Sincerely, Kent.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Parentheses, Friends super fan.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Obviously.
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: Thanks, buddy.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Thanks, Kent. You can always text us. You text JJR,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: whatever you want to say, to number 96893. Kyle Payton,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: what is trending in the entertainment world?
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: When Michael Jackson performed at the Super Bowl, he basically
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: changed halftime shows forever. His legendary 1993 performance is now
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: getting its own documentary.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Oh, that's cool.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: I think they're realizing there's Michael Jackson hype right now.
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: Let's take advantage of this. It's going to be called
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: Spectacle Michael Jackson at the Super Bowl. It's going to
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: include never before seen footage and stories about how the
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: whole performance came together. It will come to Hulu and
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: ESPN in February. Convenient timing because that's right before the
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: big game.
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: That would make sense and smart of them to hop on.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if you remember that, but
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: that was so unreal because he just appeared on stage. Well,
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: actually way up top. and just stood there for a
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: minute and a half, and people were screaming their heads off.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Weren't there a bunch of them?
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: There's no music, no nothing, but when he showed up,
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: just a minute and a half of straight applause.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Wasn't he, like, popping up all over the place?
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: Yeah, and I'm.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Actually wondering if they were waiting for this announcement to
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: announce who's actually performing at the halftime show, because we
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: usually have the artist by now, like, end of September, mid-October,
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: so the announcement could be any day now, of course.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: The rumored celebrities are Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Harry Styles.
- 1:11:37Speaker 10: But again, we just have to wait and see.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll see. Okay, we talked about it a little
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: bit yesterday. But Olivia Rodrigo and Chapel Roan, they kind
- 1:11:45Speaker 6: of teased that they might have a collaboration coming up.
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: And it was confirmed. We are officially getting their very
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: first music collaboration. It's going to be a remix of
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: Olivia's song, Expectations. The music video and the song both
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: drop tomorrow on October 15th. This is also Chapel Roan's
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: first feature on any song ever. So this is going
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: to be.
- 1:12:05Speaker 10: Huge for the pop world. I feel like they're a
- 1:12:07Speaker 10: little power duo.
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I think so too. I think people are going
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: to eat that up for sure. Chris Brown and Usher,
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: they have pulled the plug on four upcoming shows for
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: their R & B tour. They're canceling stops in Baltimore, Cincinnati, Columbia,
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: and Indianapolis. So their tour promoters are saying that this
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: is because the crew is getting sick and the intense demand.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Their clones are sick.
- 1:12:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: No, but it like conveniently lines up with Chris Brown's
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: upcoming UK court sentencing in London. So fans that are
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: affected by these ticket dates are kind of scrambling for refunds.
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: But the tour is going to pick back up in
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: Atlanta this November.
- 1:12:43Speaker 10: Yeah, it's not. It's not canceled completely, so I guess
- 1:12:45Speaker 10: that's good news.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: Just some shows to see if Chris is going to
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: get locked up or not.
- 1:12:49Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: We'll see.
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: They may have to cancel runs, depending on what happens there.
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: William Shatner may have the weirdest celebrity charity donation ever,
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: and it all started with a phone call.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: I get a phone call from a Canadian gambling company.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: He said to me on the phone, we'll buy your
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: kidney stone. And I thought... This could be you. The
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: bloody kidney stone has been thrown away a week ago.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: So I went to the doctor. I said, have you
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: got a kidney stone?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: He handed me your kidney stone. And I gave it
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: to them. They auctioned it off for $ 75, 000.
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: Why don't you be so mad if you're the one
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: that pays $ 75, 000 for William Shatner's kidney, only to find
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: out it's like just a kidney stone of a random
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: person that was just that weak. But William Shatner said, listen,
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: that money ended up helping build an entire Habitat.
- 1:13:37Speaker 10: For Humanity house.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: That dude, he's like in his 90s.
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: He's 95.
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty insane.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: It's been 30 years since the murder of Tupac, and
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: now someone has finally been sentenced. Keefty was found guilty,
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: and yesterday they laid this down.
- 1:13:55Speaker 11: As to the first degree murder portion, you are sentenced
- 1:13:57Speaker 11: to 20 years to life. As to the deadly weapon enhancement,
- 1:14:01Speaker 11: you are sentenced to a mandatory consecutive 20 years to life.
- 1:14:04Speaker 11: The aggregate sentence is 40 years to life. You have
- 1:14:07Speaker 11: 731 days credit time served toward that sentence.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: You are hereby remanded.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: The judge then told him, you just can't take someone's
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: entire future away and walk away from it. There's a
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: little bit of backlash. Saturday Night Live, Shane Gillis, he hosted,
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: and he dropped an F-bomb. Apologize for that, but that's
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: not what is causing the controversy. He made a joke,
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: and since then, S-Creek star Dan Levy called him out
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: for being misogynistic. If you missed it, this was the
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: joke he made.
- 1:14:35Speaker 16: Also, I haven't been to the gym in so long,
- 1:14:37Speaker 16: I didn't know women just dress like s * * * now.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Look, I'm sorry, there's no other way to describe. I said,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: have you seen it? I've seen it, the shorts.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: And now other celebrities are hopping on with Dan Levy,
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: like Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
- 1:14:53Speaker 10: They are backing Dan up.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: Weirdly enough, Travis Kelsey is somehow also getting dragged because
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: of this, because he ended up liking Shane's monologue. And
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: that was part of the monologue. And everyone's like, oh,
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: so you support this. And so there have been no
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: apologies issues yet from Shane or SNL, but I kind
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: of imagine there won't be.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Charlie XCX will be in the Valley next week. We
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: got your tickets right now. 877-937-1047. We're going to play
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: a game called Noise Machine. We'll do it after Justin Bieber.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Pretty excited. I just saw my son Kemp, his fantasy football.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: He's number one. He's undefeated five weeks in a row.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Dang, yo.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: That's pretty great.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Which, since I fund that, that money comes to me
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: if he wins.
- 1:15:49Speaker 6: Does it? Or is he going to pocket it?
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: He can't.
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: Oh, is it on like an app or whatever?
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: It's a Venmo thing through my wife, so it'll come
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: back to me. Thank God. Plus, he's, you know, living
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: at home, so that's my rent.
- 1:16:01Speaker 8: Anyway.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: All right. We got tickets to Charlie XCX. Caitlin's our contestant.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Good morning, Caitlin. Good morning. Nick, what are we playing?
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: You guys are playing Noise Machine today. It's spooky season.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Who's ready for Halloween?
- 1:16:14Speaker 6: I am.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: Cool.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: It's my favorite.
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: I'm going to quiz you guys on monsters today. I'm
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: going to play a clip. You tell me what that
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: monster is, who that monster is.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: And you get a point.
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: Does that sound good?
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:25Speaker 15: Perfect.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Let's start with John Jay.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Sounds good. Is that a T-Rex from the Jurassic movies?
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Can I guide you a little bit? It's a monster.
- 1:16:41Speaker 5: T-Rexes were real.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: This is a fictional movie.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: T-Rexes were real. Okay, okay. Well, that's good because, you know,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: there's a show on Netflix called Monsters of God, which
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: is all the reptiles. So, okay, a monster. So then
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: it is Godzilla.
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: Godzilla is exactly what we're looking for, John Jay.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Good job.
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: One point on the board already today.
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: Rich? It's alive!
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: It's alive!
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: It's alive!
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Um, that is, so that is not the monster. That
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: is the doctor who created the monster. So I'm going
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: to say Frankenstein's monster.
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: Dr. Frankenstein is actually the correct answer, but that's Frankenstein's
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: monster would have also been accepted. So good job, Reg.
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: One point for you. Peyton.
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: God will run down his face with his decapitated.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: What? I got it.
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: Okay, let me hear it again.
- 1:17:36Speaker 8: God will run down his face with his decapitated.
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: That's Hamilton.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Hamilton. Hamilton.
- 1:17:43Speaker 5: You go with Hamilton for your monster?
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: It's given singing.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:17:46Speaker 6: I've never seen Hamilton. Maybe he's a bad guy.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: Anybody else?
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Rich.
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: Yeah, go ahead, Rich.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: That's from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That is the Van Helsing musical.
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a Dracula musical.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: That's good.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I thought maybe Rocky Horror Picture Show. That was good.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: Yeah, we were looking for Dracula, so it's okay.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Oh, that's all right. I'll take that, Elle.
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: Nice try, Peyton.
- 1:18:07Speaker 6: Kyle!
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Everybody know.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 1:18:14Speaker 10: But it's supposed to be fictitious.
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: Not necessarily.
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: Okay, so that.
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: I know it.
- 1:18:23Speaker 10: Is that okay? I thought it was Kanye, but if
- 1:18:26Speaker 10: you know it, Caitlin.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: You go.
- 1:18:28Speaker 8: Oh, well, yeah, Kanye.
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: Yeah, it is Kanye.
- 1:18:31Speaker 6: It is.
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Kanye.
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: Good job.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: I didn't hear Kyle say it.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: No, that was Kyle.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: That was all Kyle. Good job, Kyle. All right. So
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: one point for everybody thus far. Caitlin, it is now
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: your turn.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: Is that your favorite?
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: Oh, my.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. I don't think I know this one.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: Can I hear it again?
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:18:45Speaker 6: If I told you, they all float down here.
- 1:18:47Speaker 8: What?
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: One point for John Jay.
- 1:19:11Speaker 8: Sounds like a creepy clown.
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: Yeah, it is a creepy clown.
- 1:19:15Speaker 6: You're right.
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: How about we go with Pennywise from the It franchise?
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: I thought maybe it was from Monsters, Inc. For real.
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 1:19:24Speaker 13: Monsters, Inc.
- 1:19:25Speaker 8: The cute little monsters?
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Monsters, Inc.? I mean, I was wrong, but I just thought.
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: You guys get ready for round two.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: That's a great clip.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: All right. So after one round, everybody on the board
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: at one point. John Jay starts round two.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Peter, Peter, Peter, no good deed goes unpunished. Oh, oh, oh, oh,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: that's Goblin.
- 1:19:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Goblin. We're going to take Goblin, Green Goblin.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: So John Jay now takes a commanding lead.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: Rich.
- 1:19:57Speaker 16: One, two, three, time for you.
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: Well, that's from Nightmare on Elm Street. That's Freddy Krueger.
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: Yeah, Freddy Krueger.
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: Two points for Rich Berra.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Peyton Whitmore.
- 1:20:10Speaker 15: Oh, no.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: With me.
- 1:20:18Speaker 6: Ah, stop. I'm actually scared. That's going to make me cry. Okay,
- 1:20:22Speaker 6: so that is Tiny Tim tiptoe from Insidious, that red, evil,
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: scary monster.
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: I've never seen the movie. It scares me too much.
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: I'm literally crying right now. That did not.
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: Payton, I talked about that movie this weekend.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: Insidious is unnerving.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: Said how much he liked it. So there you go, Payton.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: There you go. One point.
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: You're officially on the board just for that reason.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Cause she's crying now. Oh my God. What's happening.
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: All right. So, uh, John Jay, rich Peyton tied up Kyle.
- 1:20:52Speaker 6: I'm watching you, Nasty. Always watching.
- 1:20:57Speaker 10: Now that's from Monsters, Inc.
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: That is from Monsters, Inc. Roz in particular is what
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: we are looking for. Kyle with two points. If you
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: can get this, Caitlin, don't think too hard about it,
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: but I will give you ten points.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 1:21:20Speaker 8: Am I just bad at horror movies?
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: Don't think too hard about it. If you hear something
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: howling at the moon and they've changed.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I thought you were going Cujo. Yeah, I had that.
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: I had that on my list too, but I was like,
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: I can't do Cujo and a werewolf. And so that's
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: why the game went off. Off the rails a little bit, guys.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: The noise machine can drift a little.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 1:21:48Speaker 8: Great game.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Right, Kayla, you're going to go see Charlie XX. Congratulations.
- 1:21:52Speaker 8: No way. Thank you, guys.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: We didn't even do that great. I appreciate it.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: We always win here. Unless you play Minute to Win.
- 1:21:59Speaker 7: Yay.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Hold on, Kayla.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Kyle, what's coming up and what we need to know?
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: Chat GPT is about to get a lot more useful.
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: I'll tell you what you need to know next with
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: John Jane Rich.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: Give up.
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: This is John.
- 1:22:15Speaker 7: Jay and Rich.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: Some really concerning news about Pope Leo. He's 71 years
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: old and has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He had
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: surgery yesterday to remove part of his right lung. The
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: Vatican says the surgery was successful with no complications. He
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: had a peaceful night in the hospital and is expected
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: to spend about a week recovering.
- 1:22:36Speaker 10: Which I feel like it should be longer.
- 1:22:38Speaker 6: Like, they removed part.
- 1:22:39Speaker 10: Of his right lung.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's got God on his side, and he
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: will be healed quickly.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: True.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I know a guy that had, like, open-heart surgery, and, like,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: two days later, he was golfing.
- 1:22:46Speaker 6: That's insane.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Like, the human body is amazing. But also, Pope Leo, if,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: you know, I saw that the Catholic Church held a
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: special mass.
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: That's awesome.
- 1:22:54Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: Think about that. How powerful prayer is. And so you
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: have like millions and millions of people praying just for
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: you at one time is incredible. Also, if it didn't
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: work out, I'm sure you didn't have to wait in line.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: It goes right up to, right?
- 1:23:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure you get a fast pass to heaven.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he probably does.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: You know how you ask ChatGPT to help you do
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: something and sometimes it just gives you like a bunch
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: of instructions?
- 1:23:16Speaker 10: Well, that is starting to change.
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: A new feature lets ChatGPT actually build things like interactive
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: calculators right inside your conversation.
- 1:23:25Speaker 10: So you can use them without opening up another app.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: This is a, it's going to be part of their
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: paid and business users first.
- 1:23:32Speaker 10: So if you have the free version, you're not.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Going to be able to see this, but I feel
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: like we're getting closer to ChatGPT just doing like our
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: entire to-do list.
- 1:23:39Speaker 10: They're like, we want this to be more useful. Like
- 1:23:41Speaker 10: you don't want you to have to exit for any reason.
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: No, that's actually valid because I do pay for chat
- 1:23:46Speaker 6: GPT and I've been getting a lot of notifications where
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: it's asking me like to connect my email, connect my
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: bank account, to connect all these things, to give me
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: a breakdown of what I need to get done for
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: the day. And I haven't done it yet.
- 1:23:57Speaker 10: I know, it makes me nervous.
- 1:23:59Speaker 6: Literally, I'm up right now and it says, turn your
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: ideas into a website. Build a site for a project, portfolio,
- 1:24:05Speaker 6: or idea.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: And it's just going to create it.
- 1:24:07Speaker 10: You're like, hold on, I don't know.
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: How much water is this using? I feel really bad.
- 1:24:12Speaker 14: I know.
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: Imagine being on a cruise and wanting to get off
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: so badly that you actually just jump into the ocean.
- 1:24:18Speaker 10: So this is literally what happened.
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: This 44-year-old woman on a Royal Caribbean cruise near Greece,
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: she jumped off the boat with a little life, like
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: one of those little circle life things.
- 1:24:29Speaker 10: And just floated by.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: Herself for almost an entire day, 20 hours. She was
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: in the ocean alone until a cargo ship spotted her,
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: brought her in. She survived. They're like, oh, my gosh,
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: how did you fall off the ship? She's like, I
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: didn't fall off.
- 1:24:43Speaker 10: I jumped in.
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: I had to get off that boat. I don't know
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: exactly why or what was going on.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Is that like people on airplanes freak out now? People
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: on boats are freaking out.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: Perhaps.
- 1:24:53Speaker 6: Maybe she saw something that like wasn't supposed to be there,
- 1:24:56Speaker 6: an alien or like something that was super.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: I'd rather deal with that than what's under the water.
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: I know. It was very scary.
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: So, guys, we are 10 days away from the Phoenix
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: Suns home opener that goes down October 24th. And apparently
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: they are making some big changes that have nothing to
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: do with basketball.
- 1:25:13Speaker 10: They're getting a whole new food lineup.
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: The team just revealed a bunch of new things to
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: eat at Mortgage Matchup Center this season. And honestly, sometimes
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: I'm just excited to see what ridiculous food they're serving
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: as I have to like watch the game. So this
- 1:25:26Speaker 4: should be fun, a fun foodie adventure if you're at
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: the home opener or any games this season. Now, this
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: I think is pretty incredible, and it's like getting national attention.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: There was this man and his dog inside a van
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: near Prescott. This tree, they're just sitting there in the
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: parked car, and this tree literally comes crashing down onto
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: the car. Turns out he had an igloo cooler in
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: the back that took the brunt of the tree's fall.
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: The man and his dog survived perfectly. No, like unscathed, unscathed,
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: like total, like sort of miracle. But like, I feel
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: like igloos should somehow use this in their ads of
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: some sort, like powerful and sturdy enough to stop a
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: falling tree.
- 1:26:08Speaker 10: Pretty amazing, but definitely happy that they're okay. And that's
- 1:26:10Speaker 10: what you need to know.
