- 5:10that. So let's go for a goal of 30

- 5:25You can join in, ask some questions, hang out with us and
- 5:29let's have some fun here. We're going to get this party
- 5:31rocking and rolling with one of the guys who has crossed both
- 5:34platforms when it comes to rock music as well as professional
- 5:36wrestling. I've known this guy for some
- 5:38quite, quite some time. He is.
- 5:40He is absolutely one of the biggest sweethearts in the
- 5:42scene. He is so goddamn hardworking and
- 5:45so humble. I've been following him since
- 5:47his Backbreaker days and he's been making appearances a lot of
- 5:50other places. I believe there was PPW at one
- 5:52point in time. He was there for a little bit.
- 5:54He did. He he's he's he's all over the
- 5:55place. Northeast Pennsylvania born and
- 5:57Braves. Awesome guy.
- 5:59Let's bring him in. Without further ado, the one,
- 6:01the only squid. Sterling.
- 6:04What's going on, bud? A BJ.
- 6:06What's going on, man? Thank you for having me brother.
- 6:10Not a problem dude. So you we had a conversation on
- 6:12camera before it was at a Backbreaker show but this is a
- 6:15little different now. Different.
- 6:17Different place this that. A little different platform.
- 6:21Oh here you go. Let's just say that Squid 100%
- 6:26showed the world who he was at Smash Master Classic show.
- 6:29Keep an eye out for Squid Sterling.
- 6:31Dude this. So that's where I want to start
- 6:33as well is you've always had the intangible things that you need
- 6:38to be have in this business, you, you, your work ethic is
- 6:41very good, your attitude is very good.
- 6:43You're very humble, you're very giving, you're very you just you
- 6:47want to help other people around you.
- 6:50And then during I would say end of pandemic going into this
- 6:55year, maybe even a little bit before, you can correct me if
- 6:58I'm wrong, you have really worked on your physical
- 7:02appearance. You've been hitting the gym
- 7:03hard. You, you're, you're taught,
- 7:05you're tightening up the body. You're putting some mass on like
- 7:08squid sterling four years ago is not the squid sterling now.
- 7:11You're getting a little get a little beefy, boy, you know what
- 7:13I mean? Like.
- 7:14I'm I'm trying. If I'm being honest with you, I
- 7:18ain't going morbid right off the bat, but the going into the gym,
- 7:22aside from like the kick in the ass to really like want to look
- 7:25the part and not just play the part.
- 7:27I use it as a coping mechanism for when my mom died, she
- 7:31passed. I didn't know what to do with
- 7:33myself. So I'm just like workout, just
- 7:36get keep the mind busy workout and that became a lifestyle
- 7:41because it's not just like going to the gym like I spend my time
- 7:44like one of my favorite. I go to ban and I research the
- 7:49books to learn like the science behind muscle building and I'm
- 7:53always learning. There's so much more that that I
- 7:55can learn, but I trying to. Learn about all the nutrition
- 7:59and everything that you have to do to make it and maintain that
- 8:04lifestyle. If this question is too much or
- 8:08you don't want to disclose it, you don't have to say, but we'll
- 8:12just say you have a gym partner. It looks like a lot in your
- 8:15video, in your photos when you're at the gym I.
- 8:17Do. Yes.
- 8:19So so it's so you're, you know, the loss, the loss of one of the
- 8:23most important women of your life and then obviously has led
- 8:25to the gym and it looks like you guys are doing it together,
- 8:28which looks like a very beautiful thing where you're
- 8:30you're almost motivating each other and you're, you know what
- 8:33I mean? Like I don't know.
- 8:34I I just think the overall thing of what you're trying to go for,
- 8:36I think it's just super healthy and I think it's really dope for
- 8:38you. Thank you.
- 8:40Yep, she's my soon to be fiance. She knows already if she's
- 8:46watching. Getting no surprise?
- 8:48Yeah, breaking new LA VJ. I have gratefully had her by my
- 8:55side through the whole thing cuz she keeps you motivated like cuz
- 8:57there's definitely days where you don't want to be there and
- 9:00like you're slugging, you know, you had a long week at work,
- 9:02whatever. And she's just keeps pushing,
- 9:05keeps pushing me and I do the same for her cuz it's like a
- 9:08personal journey for her too and we're just trying to do it
- 9:11together. I love that.
- 9:12That's that's insanely motivating and it's sweet to
- 9:15hear. I love that Lindsay and JS
- 9:18Michaels in the chat, they both just started their little
- 9:20podcast experience. Go check those guys out.
- 9:22And then what we talked about earlier Rosh go support my boy.
- 9:26Rosh go go a little banged up right now.
- 9:28So make sure you go to a smash mouse wrestling.
- 9:30Go buy his merchandise and help the boy out.
- 9:33Once again, if you're here new, just make sure you hit those
- 9:35likes, hit those likes if whatever you're watching on our
- 9:37our goal is 30 likes for this video.
- 9:39So let's get it going and hit that share button.
- 9:41Do it. It's free.
- 9:42Cost nothing. Oh, look at Crispy Boy in here,
- 9:45too. Everyone's here tonight.
- 9:46Look at everyone's here for squid, baby.
- 9:49I love to see Y'all. Thank you.
- 9:51So let's let's let's ask if the The Most Notorious Question on
- 9:55Wrestling podcast. But when did you fall in love
- 9:58with this business? When was your earliest memory of
- 10:00being like, holy shit, I'm a pro wrestling fan, let's get this
- 10:04done. I I definitely fell in love with
- 10:08the business early. He opened that so I it was my
- 10:15sister that initially got me into it because she was watching
- 10:21her VHS of WrestleMania 17 and I I was tuning in and out through
- 10:28the whole thing. I was sitting there watching it
- 10:29with her, and then stone Cold and the rock came on and as soon
- 10:35as the glass shattered. That was my first introduction
- 10:39to Stone Cold and I just. I couldn't stop watching.
- 10:42I I just couldn't and I fell in love ever since then.
- 10:46And aside from that, my cousin Jerry, ever since I was a little
- 10:50kid, he would always take me to like local indie shows and
- 10:53everything around the area. I wish I remembered a lot of
- 10:56them like like names and and work as that I saw from back
- 10:59then but we used to do that all the time and it it was ever
- 11:03since that WrestleMania. Moment that made me feel Fall in
- 11:07love with the glass shatter and stone cold.
- 11:09So are you always the Northeast PA scene?
- 11:12Like, is that where you've kind of been born and raised?
- 11:15Yeah, I've been born and raised here my whole life.
- 11:19I don't necessarily want to stay here in my whole life, but I'm
- 11:21here and I rock it and I support it and I'm gonna do that for as
- 11:25long as I'm here. I love that.
- 11:27I love that. So when did you transition from
- 11:29watching wrestling and and then saying like this is what I want
- 11:32to do, this is the path I want to take take on and and what was
- 11:36that process like and how did you find your your school.
- 11:39Well, so funny story about that it to me, I believe whenever you
- 11:44get down and then I'm something bad happens.
- 11:46Like, it's always going to propel you to something better.
- 11:50I sure hope so. And I promise it will.
- 11:54When I I was working as an assistant manager at This is
- 11:58wait, this is before wrestling. I was just, I was coming out of
- 12:02my teens, coming out of college. And the GameStop was a dream
- 12:05job. Like, you get to just rip the
- 12:07games open, brand new, midnight release, take it home and play
- 12:09it, bring it back, sell it as brand new.
- 12:11Oops. Didn't mean to give the secret,
- 12:13but I love that job and I ended up losing that job and I wasn't
- 12:20ready for that mentally or like financially nothing.
- 12:23So I kind of went into to panic mode, turmoil and I went into a
- 12:28depression. And I'm not normally like that.
- 12:32And and I felt weird and I'm like, I have to do something to
- 12:35get out of this. And I've been saying for years
- 12:38and years and years that I wanted to wrestle.
- 12:39Like I just, I just wanted a taste of it to see if I could do
- 12:42it. And shortly before I got let go
- 12:47Kit Raff came into GameStop getting some games off me and he
- 12:51told me about backbreakers. And he's like, yeah, they do
- 12:53tryouts every now and then blah, blah, said OK.
- 12:56I never. I always kept that in the back
- 12:59of my head. So then when the time finally
- 13:01came, I didn't have the job. I had no responsibility at the
- 13:05moment. I just said fuck it.
- 13:06And I messaged Justin Glory and I'm like Mr. Glory.
- 13:11I I'm ready to put myself through this.
- 13:13Like I need to do something. I've been wanting to do this,
- 13:16you know, let's make this happen.
- 13:19We did. And the rest is history from
- 13:22there. Yeah.
- 13:23So when before you like growing up or in there another Were you
- 13:27athletic? Did you play sports growing up?
- 13:29Did you ever experience those football, basketball, 23A days?
- 13:33Like, did anything in your path prepare you for your first hell
- 13:39week of professional life? Not a damn thing.
- 13:44Not a thing. The only thing I did I like
- 13:47legitimately consider doing sports wise, that I tried was
- 13:50with baseball, but that was a Little League.
- 13:52That was years ago. So from the time I got out of
- 13:55that and through high school, I never did any sports.
- 13:57I was always music. And when I I went to wrestling
- 14:03training, thinking I I'm, I'm an idiot.
- 14:05I I thought this was going to be easy.
- 14:07I don't know what made me think that.
- 14:10But when I stepped in that ring, 30 minutes went by and I was
- 14:15puking on the bathroom floor. I was just, I was puking my guts
- 14:19out. I was so out of shape.
- 14:20I had no cardio. I did not know what I was
- 14:23getting myself into. But it's just something there.
- 14:26Just. I loved it still.
- 14:28And I I picked my sorry puking ass up and I got back in the
- 14:32ring, wiped off first, got back in the ring and and finished it
- 14:36out. And I told myself that I was
- 14:37going to keep doing this. How many people in your training
- 14:41class are still actively in the business?
- 14:45Oof. In my class, I don't think.
- 14:51I think I'm the only one. Wow, my personal class, because
- 14:55there you have Erin Rocks is. Who was the class before me?
- 14:58I I guess you could say we're we're around the same there.
- 15:01Yeah. And Adina Steele, she was in the
- 15:04class after me. And I I I really think that
- 15:09that's all that really stuck around.
- 15:11Wow, that's crazy. Any other familiar faces on the
- 15:14scene that were there your first week of training that that
- 15:18you're still close with? That were stare the 1st.
- 15:23Week of training? No, not really.
- 15:25Most of them are all gone, but like, you know, Dean is there,
- 15:28Brad Brad was there, and Johnny Toxic.
- 15:32They're around for. I don't know if they were there
- 15:33on my first day or not, I I truthfully don't remember.
- 15:37But they're all there mentoring and helping us from the
- 15:40beginning. Yeah, other than that, most of
- 15:46them, seriously, most of them quit.
- 15:47But by the time it came to that time, and I don't like to hear
- 15:51like obviously that that question isn't asked to say how
- 15:53many people quit. It just kind of shows people who
- 15:56are listening that may not be professional wrestling fans of
- 15:59how extremely difficult this industry can be on just your
- 16:02mental and your physical because there's a lot to it.
- 16:05But that for walk me through the first time you you're hitting
- 16:08ropes and you're taking bumps, what?
- 16:09What does it? What does it do to a body?
- 16:13It it doesn't make it feel very good.
- 16:17Taking bumps that truthfully for me, like maybe it's just how I
- 16:21was taught. I felt like the teaching was
- 16:24very well done on how to take bumps.
- 16:28That wasn't the worst until we had to start taking them over
- 16:32and over. And then you start taking bumps
- 16:34next to each other and bumping at the same time to get your
- 16:37timing down and if. Soon as one person hits that mat
- 16:40and the other one's just an inch above that ground, you're
- 16:43getting stiff so hard and you're you're going to feel that for a
- 16:45week. The ropes, the ropes, we've
- 16:48bruises everywhere, all on your back, on your arm, your armpit.
- 16:52And I, I'm not the tallest guy on the scene, man, let's be real
- 16:55here. So that that's getting right up
- 16:58in my pit half the time and it looks terrible.
- 17:01It It's fun. In some sickening, sadistic way,
- 17:07it is fun. Well man, it don't always feel
- 17:10good, Eric Pinhat says. His graduation photos came
- 17:13across my memories of their day, and I'm pretty sure he's right
- 17:15and he's the only one left. My God, I remember being nervous
- 17:19for those photos because that was before I really had my
- 17:25character or had a really decent understanding of the business.
- 17:30I'm like, Oh my God, what promo photos like.
- 17:33What is gonna work? What's not gonna work?
- 17:35Like I crossing like this and I'm like, I look at it now.
- 17:38You did the punk. You did the punk?
- 17:40Yeah, I did the punk thing with The Drum 6 coming across my face
- 17:43and cringe. So, So, since the start, have
- 17:48you always adapted the name Squid Sterling and the persona
- 17:51of the Rock'n'roll Wrestler? Yep, that was my, that was my
- 17:55intention right from the start and still rocking with it and.
- 18:02Evolving, you know, you know as time goes on in this business
- 18:06especially, you have to just you have to continue to evolve and a
- 18:09lot faster than then. Sometimes I anticipate too.
- 18:13Yeah, but I will. I will say what your character
- 18:16you come out to good music, you come out looking like a rock
- 18:19star. You can't.
- 18:19You have your drumsticks you got, you got everything you need
- 18:22there. But like when you wrestle that,
- 18:25I don't know, I'm not saying it's a good or a bad thing, but
- 18:27that kind of the character rock side vanishes.
- 18:32And then when you get in the ropes, that's when the wrestler
- 18:34begins and then you become more of that heart and soul style
- 18:38wrestler because you're the undersize, the shorter guy, you
- 18:41are putting muscle mass on, but you always, you have that fight
- 18:44from behind attitude and and everything like that.
- 18:46So like you're rock'n'roll until the hit the rope and then you do
- 18:51your pose and then when the bell rings, you're now it's not rock.
- 18:54It's right, it's it's it's fighting time, you know what I
- 18:56mean? And I think that's a cool idea
- 18:58to your character. Like, you're not really, you
- 19:01don't really do much when it comes to it.
- 19:03Like maybe sometimes you'll do the drumstick spots where you
- 19:05hit like, you know what I mean? But like, for the most time,
- 19:07most of your stuff is just like, it's just wrestling.
- 19:10There's not a lot of crossover. Like, you know what I mean?
- 19:12Like there's it's. It's hard to explain.
- 19:14Sometimes that sometimes I like it like that because I I really
- 19:19do. I love getting in there and and
- 19:21putting on just a wrestling match, but I do love getting in
- 19:25there and. And putting a little bit of that
- 19:28flares, like there's something we have that cowbell spot every
- 19:31now and then. I love having that cowbell up
- 19:34near someone's face and ringing their literally ringing their
- 19:37bell. Yeah, you know, it would be a
- 19:39good one. Like, you know, the tent.
- 19:41Over, O'Malley said. That's, that's a high spot in my
- 19:43head. Oh yeah, hit anybody.
- 19:45I I feel like if you're a rock star, like that's got to be like
- 19:47the is hitting somebody with a guitar.
- 19:49I don't. I don't ever want to be hit with
- 19:50one, but. It was invigorating.
- 19:54That's like the way it is. So fun.
- 19:56You know what you should do. I don't know if you've ever you
- 19:58probably have done it already. I'm I'm probably not original in
- 20:01this but like the this the the old school classic.
- 20:03Throw them in the corner. Climb up 10 punches right.
- 20:06But instead of the punches you should be doing the Pete
- 20:08Townsend like bang like you like you're strumming like like you
- 20:12know what I mean? Like the strum punch.
- 20:13Like it? Hasn't happened yet.
- 20:16There you go. You can have that.
- 20:17You can have that. Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 20:20Boom. And then and then jump off or
- 20:24something, I don't know. Fun Little Rock incorporation.
- 20:28How did you? Yeah, get my ass power bombed.
- 20:31Yeah, or like instead of I don't know if your your gear is
- 20:35prepared for but instead of like you know when you do the the the
- 20:39the lucha spot where you know one jumps over like just like a
- 20:42a stage slide like a need slide underneath their legs Oh my God,
- 20:48thinking about that makes me nervous.
- 20:50Yeah, because your legs stick and then you they don't.
- 20:52And then you take it. A crotch right to the face.
- 20:59You get your nose broke by someone's wean.
- 21:01It would be horrible, yeah. How did you come up with the
- 21:06name Squid Sterling? Where does that come from?
- 21:08What? What was your your your idea of
- 21:10the name? So I feel like the name Squid.
- 21:15I I didn't choose the name. The name chose me.
- 21:18I love that I've had that name for literally as long as I can
- 21:22remember from being a kid. But I can truthfully tell you
- 21:26it's not too much of A secret anymore.
- 21:27It came from Rocket Power. How many on here?
- 21:31No, from that. I loved it when I was a little
- 21:35kid. I talked about it a lot.
- 21:36And my sister Tanya, she just came up behind me one day.
- 21:40I was talking about my friends and she just called me Squid and
- 21:42everybody around me thought it was hilarious and it just stuck.
- 21:46So everybody throughout my life, professors, teachers, my
- 21:49parents, family, friends, everybody called me Squid.
- 21:52So I felt like it was only right.
- 21:55So So what you're saying is we need a we were kind of talking
- 21:59off camera for the podcast started.
- 22:01So you need a rocket Power inspired squid.
- 22:03Sterling logo? Yes, money I would.
- 22:10We might know some people in here that can make that happen.
- 22:12If you, I'll get you their deeds.
- 22:15I'm looking for those deets. Yeah man.
- 22:19So early on your career obviously you're at
- 22:21backbreakers. You're you're doing that.
- 22:23How long of your training before your first match where they were
- 22:27glory or anybody at the school was like hey man, we're going to
- 22:29put you in there and we're going to you're you're ready to go
- 22:32think it was about 10 months, 10 months of training.
- 22:37I went three days a week religiously.
- 22:40I don't think I I seriously don't think that I missed a day
- 22:45of training before I graduated three days a week.
- 22:50I would only be allowed to participate in maybe one class.
- 22:53Like at first there's a beginner's class so you learn
- 22:55your bumps and all your fundamentals.
- 22:58And I went to that participated. And then on Tuesday was the
- 23:03advance class and Thursday was open ring.
- 23:05And I would just go and watch. And I would sometimes I'd sit at
- 23:09the end of the ring, sometimes just sit in the chairs and I
- 23:11would just take everything. And you learn in just as much by
- 23:14by watching, listening as you do by doing.
- 23:17And eventually I was allowed to go to, I bumped up to advance
- 23:23and I was allowed to go to the open ring.
- 23:26And I I just never stopped going to the beginners.
- 23:30If I had a place to go right now, I'd still be doing that
- 23:33because you you can never get enough of that, you know?
- 23:35Always. I believe there's a church you
- 23:37can go to. There's some guys you could hit
- 23:38up. They're always doing some stuff
- 23:39there. Once I once that vehicle's
- 23:42rolling, Hell yeah, I've been watching real bad because
- 23:45they're. They're training A lot there of
- 23:47information sitting in that building up at Sanctuary.
- 23:50There really is. It is a goldmine of information
- 23:52and character development in everything that I believe that I
- 23:56need to be real. Yeah, kinda.
- 23:58Start hanging first Friday, man. You get a ride to come hang out
- 24:01with us. We love having squid at the
- 24:03church. So when when, when did you have
- 24:07that? So your first match.
- 24:08That's why I wasn't. Yeah.
- 24:09Your first match. You're you're you're about to go
- 24:11out there. Was it Did you get your
- 24:12traditional six man tag? Was it a rumble spot?
- 24:15What was your first match? It was a it was a one-on-one,
- 24:20which is yeah. And I'm very I'm thankful for it
- 24:23Because even still to this day, it was some of the most fun that
- 24:25I've ever had. You know something you never
- 24:28forget is your first time out there.
- 24:30But yeah, it was a one-on-one match.
- 24:32Lost the match, who'd you work? His name.
- 24:35It was one of the kids that I came up with.
- 24:38And his. It was also his first match.
- 24:41So it was a double debut and it was Cinderella man.
- 24:44Chris Harsh. He's no longer in the business
- 24:48anymore, but we worked twice. My second match was also a
- 24:51rematch with him and yeah, that's that's pretty much how
- 24:58that went there. Yeah, so I when by the time I
- 25:02started learning the backbreakers and started going
- 25:04there and consuming their content, you were essentially A
- 25:07staple there at that point in time.
- 25:09You were there. What championship was it?
- 25:13It was like their Was it like their lightweight champion or
- 25:15like their for? At first I ended up getting
- 25:20their heavyweight championship and had to give up that because
- 25:24I dislocated my elbow. So I was out for a few months
- 25:28and then it was a cruise away championship.
- 25:30Cruise I I came around for your cruise Away run, yeah and
- 25:35technically I'm I'm a two time champ, but I had to give the
- 25:39first one up due to injury because I dislocated my knee.
- 25:43I was there. I was there for the night when
- 25:46you hurt yourself and you couldn't compete and you had to.
- 25:48You had to hand it in. I that that was an awful night.
- 25:53I did not have fun that night. But but yeah, I held that in
- 25:59total. I mean, I didn't defend it too
- 26:01much because COVID happened. I had it all through COVID, but
- 26:04there was no show. So like, does that really count?
- 26:08If it counts, if it counts and it's long as raining and it's
- 26:12going on about three years. Yeah, up until Backbreakers
- 26:17folded in and I just handed it back.
- 26:19Yeah. Christy said there's a church
- 26:21you can get all that in. Christian says who looking
- 26:23forward to Friday night. What's going on Friday.
- 26:25Is there something cool happening Friday.
- 26:27I know there's a there's a show at the at the sanctuary this
- 26:29Friday, if that's what you're talking about.
- 26:31I'm looking forward to it. And then Finco says hey man, how
- 26:34are you? I'm good.
- 26:35Thank you for coming. Hanging out, Finn.
- 26:38Yeah. So.
- 26:39And then also you you got the team up with you had a little
- 26:41bit of a of a manager situation there.
- 26:43You had a little CR O'Malley who I did get your message.
- 26:46CR you are on the list. I promise I'm not.
- 26:51He's busted my ass about that. You are on the list.
- 26:55Your boys. Just your boys just going
- 26:57through some stuff. But I definitely have your,
- 26:58your, I have both your forms. So I preach one of the only ones
- 27:01who's actually filling the forms out.
- 27:03So I I you're on the list, I swear to God.
- 27:06But how did used to team up and start doing stuff?
- 27:10We we just started driving together like when we started
- 27:14getting our footing because like he never managed me in back
- 27:17Breakers. Yeah, I don't think he's ever
- 27:18done it in back Breakers. Hit me up, squid.
- 27:21I'll pick you up on the way. Ah, you know what that is?
- 27:24That's great, but that's great. But terrible.
- 27:27It's great that you're coming to the Sanctuary, but it's terrible
- 27:30because Ricky Price going to be there too.
- 27:32That is. What a wow, what a double edged
- 27:35sword that is. I'm going just to see that feud.
- 27:39I want. I want to see that play out.
- 27:42But we, we just started being travel partners and you know
- 27:47when we started getting booked, you know he's managed coming
- 27:50with me. So I would always ask for like
- 27:52hey, like if you're going to use me like who use him to like you
- 27:56know, we could do whatever spot you want comedy or if you want
- 27:58to be serious, face healed, whatever.
- 28:01He was always more fun and it just kind of started to
- 28:06organically happen like that. And then we started like
- 28:09especially up in like the New York, like the Six O 7 area up
- 28:13there. We're paired together a lot.
- 28:15It's kind of like almost like a package deal.
- 28:17I love that. How actually that's that's
- 28:19that's what I love. That's interesting to me because
- 28:22a lot of a lot of times in the industry a lot of people get
- 28:25stuck in that 1520 mile, 30 minute, 30 mile bubble of where
- 28:29they live and where they work. How was it your first time
- 28:32breaking out of that? I don't know anyone in the
- 28:35locker room. I'm going to go to a promotion.
- 28:37I don't maybe know anyone here and and stepping into.
- 28:41Unfamiliar territory and going in and just getting that
- 28:43working. Absolutely Nerve wracking.
- 28:47Sometimes I might come off as an extrovert, but like, this boy's
- 28:50loaded with social anxiety and I I can mask it.
- 28:53And when you put me in mask, baby, mask it.
- 28:56When you put me in a room with a bunch of people that I have no
- 29:00idea. Especially when you're coming up
- 29:02in the business and you're taught like, oh, you need to
- 29:04watch what you say, you need to, you know, you can only talk so
- 29:07much with someone. Spoken to, Yeah.
- 29:11So I'm like, am I even allowed to talk?
- 29:14Like, what's going on here? Like how do I work this?
- 29:17Eventually, you know, you get to know the guy and they're all
- 29:21welcoming. I I really don't have,
- 29:23thankfully, I don't have a lot of negative experiences when it
- 29:26comes to that kind of stuff. Yeah, but 607 seems very
- 29:29welcoming, bringing me in there. And it got easier as time goes
- 29:33on. Now I think I might be able to
- 29:35go somewhere and be a little more confident in, you know, and
- 29:40and just getting my feet wet in there and making the
- 29:41connections. But for a while.
- 29:43Oof. Who's that nerve wracking?
- 29:45Yeah, it's scary. I I'm lucky.
- 29:47Everywhere I went out of the PA scene, I've always been with
- 29:51Pete Delong, so I've always had him as my crutch.
- 29:55Yeah, it's it's good to roll with somebody.
- 29:58So when was that moment in your career?
- 30:01Where you had that click right now, it could happen at your
- 30:04home promotion. But I feel like a lot of times
- 30:06it happens when you're on that road or you're away from
- 30:09everyone in your immediate circle.
- 30:10Because everybody in your immediate circle is going to,
- 30:12they're going to be honest with you.
- 30:13But it's like almost like listening to your parents,
- 30:15right? Like your parents can give you
- 30:17all the best advice, but then when you leave the nest and then
- 30:20the advice that they've been saying comes from somebody else
- 30:22and then it you're like, oh, this makes sense.
- 30:26What was that moment for you as professional wrestler?
- 30:28I can pinpoint that we were talking about it earlier,
- 30:33definitely when I had my match with HC Loke and that was at UW
- 30:39up in New York. And the reason why was because
- 30:43that was the first match that I went in with almost other than
- 30:48the normal anxiety, like before you step out of the curtain,
- 30:51like you know the jitters. As soon as I stepped out of the
- 30:56curtain, it's it just all went away.
- 30:59I didn't have to think about what I was going to do or my
- 31:03strategy or anything like that. I just went in there and we
- 31:06worked and I felt it. And it's a testament to him
- 31:09because man, I he he's a blast to work with, one of my favorite
- 31:15guys to work with. I love him to death that.
- 31:19He spent that he spent on you. No.
- 31:21Yes, he did. He did.
- 31:23He. Yes, he did.
- 31:26He spit all that water in my face like he was Triple H Yeah.
- 31:31And that whole time I was like, I was really sad that he spit in
- 31:38my face. But I was also like, this is
- 31:40kind of cool shit. Yeah, yeah, you're gonna get,
- 31:42you're gonna get a feet. You're gonna get a you're gonna
- 31:44get spit on and you're probably gonna get a top rope not grab,
- 31:47throw off top rope or something along those lines.
- 31:50I didn't get I didn't get one of those.
- 31:53He he told me look out for it, but it didn't happen.
- 31:56Yeah. And the reason why I was such
- 31:59like an aha moment is look, he he looks at me beforehand he's
- 32:03like, here, take this kid and he gives me a shot of rock.
- 32:07He's like, just loosen yourself up.
- 32:09You look too damn nervous And I'm like, OK.
- 32:11A lot of love took that, and I was like, Damn, he's right,
- 32:15loosen up. But that that loosening up just
- 32:18allowed me to to to get in there and feel it for what I think is
- 32:24probably the first time. And I've been wanting to do it
- 32:28like that ever since. It's like you said, it's like
- 32:31aha moment, like that's what I want out of it.
- 32:33Loke is the epitome of keep it simple stupid.
- 32:39His matches are if you if like, you're going to get a loke
- 32:42match. When you get a loke match or get
- 32:44a Loke match, he's gonna, he's gonna do the greatest hits.
- 32:46You're going to, it's like it's like going to see your favorite
- 32:48band. You're going to you're going to
- 32:49see the greatest hits. He's going to part.
- 32:52He's going to get the crowd participation in.
- 32:54He's going to get the crowd involved in the match.
- 32:56You're going to leave just how you came in, insanely safe,
- 32:59insanely protected, and it's going to look like he kicked the
- 33:02ever living shit out of you or he gets the ever living shit out
- 33:05of you. And he can spell that too.
- 33:08He's he's a, he's a gangster man.
- 33:10And there's a reason why he's has accomplished as much as he's
- 33:13accomplished in his building, in this business.
- 33:15And his students that he has come up around him are some of
- 33:18my favorite people in this industry.
- 33:20Man, it's not even fair. Those kids are phenomenal.
- 33:23There's two They're two good, dude.
- 33:24They first time I said at the Sanctuary, I was like, well,
- 33:26what is happening? Phenomenal.
- 33:29They're on the list as well for future podcast stuff, because I
- 33:31love those guys at Death as they should.
- 33:33So good. Yeah man.
- 33:36So was that like your first name or established person that
- 33:40you've worked? I I think so.
- 33:43I I at that point, yeah. I think that would have been the
- 33:45first established worker. Who was any other ones after
- 33:49that I asked for? Like, wildly established, Not so
- 33:54much. OK, I've not in front of a live
- 33:58crowd anyway, You know a lot of seminars and and have been
- 34:03grateful to be an opportunities to be around a lot.
- 34:05Of Were you at the seminar for PPW when they were in
- 34:08Battlefield or when they were at Broadheadsville?
- 34:11Which one? I've done a few for PPW.
- 34:14I feel like I was there for your one second.
- 34:15Were you were there? Were you there for the Jay
- 34:16Lethal? No, I wasn't.
- 34:19I wish I was. I was so mad I missed that one.
- 34:21Who were you there for? I was there for Billy Gunn.
- 34:24I did. Dean Malenko.
- 34:27Luke Gallows. Luke Gallows, when they were in
- 34:29Broadheadsville. Yeah, I remember.
- 34:33Yeah, you were there for that one.
- 34:36That was a good one cuz he treated it like if you were
- 34:38going to a WB tryout. I talked about it before in the
- 34:42podcast, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating myself for people who
- 34:44listen every episode, maybe two of yous.
- 34:47But I loved when he told everyone to take their shirts
- 34:49off and they're just like, what? And he's like, they looked at
- 34:52him like a deer in a headlights, like you want me to.
- 34:56Yeah. And a few people were like, and
- 34:57he's like do it. That's this is exactly what
- 35:00they're going to do with WE. And then he was just like that.
- 35:03Is that the body you'd want to see on TV?
- 35:05And they're just like, but you need that in this business.
- 35:08You need that. We really do.
- 35:11Even comments on my body too, because at that time I had no
- 35:14meat on me, man. I was skinning bones and he he
- 35:18told me I needed to to beef up. And it took me a bit, but I
- 35:21finally took your advice, brother.
- 35:23Yeah. And and listen, you were at, you
- 35:25were at a Monday Night Raw and the crowd was chanting your name
- 35:27and you weren't even in the ring.
- 35:29Oh my God. Don't, don't even, don't even.
- 35:33When I look and I saw you down there, I was like, what the?
- 35:37So I I was graciously given floor seeds to a Monday Night
- 35:41Raw 35 minutes before it happened.
- 35:44And we're all like going around and Bp's like go to squid.
- 35:48And I was just like, let's go squid.
- 35:50Squid, Sterling or Chan. And he's just like he you just
- 35:53stopped. And you're like, it took me.
- 35:55Like, I don't even think I was not paying attention.
- 35:56Like, I think I was in my own little trance, too, and it broke
- 35:59me out of it. I'm like, why is this happening
- 36:01here? No what?
- 36:03And then I took a picture of you and sent it to you and you're
- 36:05just like and you spot on it. That's like that's like where is
- 36:09this? It was a good time.
- 36:13So listen, the the wrestling thing we can we can swing back
- 36:15to. If you have any stories or
- 36:16anything we can get back to because there is some stuff I
- 36:18want to talk about most recent stuff that you have done.
- 36:21But I want to kind of shift gears here on this.
- 36:24It's root beer, It's Lions Head, but it's root beer.
- 36:26I'm not drinking on the job. You can drink on the job.
- 36:29I'm just mad I don't have beer to drink with you.
- 36:32Once again, if you are here, make sure you hit those likes
- 36:34and subscribes and those shares. Were the goal for tonight's
- 36:37episode is 30 likes or hearts or whatever we can get so we can
- 36:42hit that 30 mark? That'd be absolutely insane.
- 36:44And make sure if you're on the Facebook side or YouTube hit
- 36:46that share button and get more people aware of the ABJ podcast.
- 36:49We're trying to grow. We just hit 700 subscribers so
- 36:52we can hit that 800 that would be amazing on the quote.
- 36:56The quest of 1K that'd be amazing but music music wise you
- 37:02carry drumsticks but what what what do you do for music What
- 37:05what instruments do you Instruments I'll give you.
- 37:08I will say if you can play more than one or or or front man what
- 37:11do you do in the music scene and and.
- 37:13Has has the music and the wrestling been hand in hand this
- 37:17entire time? So for me it has always been
- 37:20hand in hand. I'll get to that soon.
- 37:24But musically I I do just a lot myself right now.
- 37:29Solo stuff. I don't have a band.
- 37:31I did when I was for years at a band called Life After Misery,
- 37:34when humanity remains and we used to do some cool stuff.
- 37:39I was a front man. I was just a singer slash
- 37:42screamer for that at the time. I didn't want to be tied down on
- 37:47stage with an instrument. I like being free.
- 37:50I like running around and acting crazy, as you could probably
- 37:53tell from the ring stuff. But I have been playing guitar
- 37:59for How old am I? Oh my God, like 1617 years now.
- 38:08Drum drumming wise, I've been playing for a couple years.
- 38:13Safety with bass. One instrument I'd love to learn
- 38:16is piano. Can't play piano to save my
- 38:19life. Wish I could I.
- 38:21Think we got rated on Twitter, on Twitter, on Twitch.
- 38:25Appreciate that. I've never been.
- 38:27I've never been rated before. I'm on Stream Yard, so I can't
- 38:30see when I get rated. But my little brother, Captain
- 38:32Butler's here, who's also on Twitch.
- 38:35Go follow him. He plays a lot of MLB The Show.
- 38:38So, yeah, if we got rated. Thank you so much.
- 38:40That's a huge help. I'm trying to, I'm really close
- 38:42to that. I think it's like affiliate
- 38:44status or whatever it is. So, yeah, thank you.
- 38:48Yeah, and aside from that, we back in high school I I had the
- 38:55opportunity to open up for a few national international acts like
- 39:00motionless and white, Sleeping With Sirens.
- 39:04We came as Romans Sepatora. Most of this happened at Eleanor
- 39:09Rigby's when that was open and it turned into 3 kings.
- 39:14So those are good times. We were on the Allstar Festival,
- 39:19I think that was 20 2012, 2013. Don't smoke weed, kids.
- 39:26Did you don't? Remember or do or do as as I
- 39:29wear my But yeah, lately though it I I haven't been doing too
- 39:39much other than just sitting down and writing my my own
- 39:42material and learning how to learning how to record it and
- 39:49produce it myself. Which is a train wreck of
- 39:52knowledge that I need to get because it is, it is so much.
- 39:57We you need a car and I need you to bring, I need you to bring to
- 40:01this side of the 570 because if you need to get in contact with
- 40:04musician people. I have so many talent musician
- 40:07friends that I can link you up with and you you can do some
- 40:11cool shit, man. What was the name of your band?
- 40:15My brother said. Band was life after Misery when
- 40:20we when we broke up. It was just a lot of like
- 40:28animosity within the band, a lot of different music styles.
- 40:32The one do you put a lot of our stuff on lock, but you could
- 40:34still find stuff out there if you search hard enough.
- 40:38Videos. And there's one recorded
- 40:40material. I have no physical copies.
- 40:42I don't even have a digital copy, but it does exist.
- 40:46There's an EP out there with my voice somewhere.
- 40:48I love that. I think.
- 40:50I think when you were saying the band names if I'm not mistaken
- 40:53my brother was a big we came as Roman fans.
- 40:55So I think when you said that is theirs picked up, I heard them
- 40:58on like every band you said right now was all like bands.
- 41:01I heard on like the Punk Goes albums.
- 41:04Yeah, yeah, it was all around that era too, like when they
- 41:07were all hot and people were freaking out over that, so, so
- 41:11they were coming off of a big high.
- 41:12Plus Warped Tour. Warped Tour was real popular at
- 41:14the time, so that was probably at their height and it was for
- 41:18We Came as Romans. It was their OG singer before he
- 41:21tragically passed. Yeah.
- 41:24It also wonderful people, every single one of them in the band.
- 41:27We're we're great to hang out with.
- 41:29I would support them for life. I love that.
- 41:31I love that. So have you really tried to
- 41:33balance that lifestyle of touring musician as well as a
- 41:36touring wrestler? Has that has that been a a big
- 41:39thing that you have as I have you have.
- 41:41You've experienced, as you said, you're you're still struggling
- 41:43to try to find a band, but have you had that band life as well
- 41:47as touring, wrestling? Not at the same time.
- 41:51At first. That was my goal.
- 41:54And I I got away with that just because I I put so much in the
- 41:58wrestling. When I started training like I
- 42:01before I started, I I truthfully didn't realize how much time and
- 42:04sacrifice of other things that I need to do is going to have to
- 42:07go into this. But the sacrifice is real.
- 42:10And I just stopped all of my my musical projects at the time to
- 42:15really to really dive deep in the wrestling.
- 42:18But. That is something I want to do.
- 42:21I want to start juggling that. I just need to get my footing
- 42:24for it, you know, baby steps. Absolutely.
- 42:28So we are getting closer. Here we are.
- 42:31We're getting hit that 45 minute mark.
- 42:32We try to keep it around there or an hour.
- 42:35If anyone has any questions in the chat, please get them in now
- 42:37so we can get those prepared for everybody.
- 42:39I did have one, Finn says. Do you think Randy Orton will
- 42:43ever wrestle again? He wants, he wants to know from
- 42:45you. Squid, what's your thoughts on
- 42:47Randy Orton? I love her, Andy Orton.
- 42:50I hope he does, man. I hope he goes back.
- 42:52I hope he comes back. I hope his his back holds up and
- 42:55he's safe to do what he loves to do.
- 42:58So I'm gonna, I'm gonna let you know a little secret, Finn.
- 43:00I'm gonna pull back the curtain of wrestling when when a
- 43:03wrestler comes out and their families come out and they start
- 43:06talking about that, they had career ending, ending injuries
- 43:11nine times out of 10. Now, sometimes there's truth to
- 43:13it, like when Stone Cold broke his neck, it's like, OK, he
- 43:15broke his neck. But nine times out of 10, when
- 43:17the reports start coming out that they may be done as a
- 43:20wrestler, that means they're close to coming back.
- 43:24Adam Cole was going to be done with wrestling.
- 43:27He returned. Athena was going to be done with
- 43:28wrestling. She returned all like that.
- 43:30So I think if you're a Randy Orton fan, I think you're pretty
- 43:34close to a return sooner than later.
- 43:37Fingers crossed, fingers crossed, we get the Viper back.
- 43:41What do you what are some things you have going on now that you
- 43:43want people to check out? Or where can people see you
- 43:45work, whether it be music or professional wrestling?
- 43:49Right now, wrestling wise, absolutely come out to smash
- 43:53master wrestling. We need your support now more
- 43:56than ever. Just don't deny yourself a good
- 44:00time. It's a damn good time.
- 44:02It's. They're really good time.
- 44:03Yeah. But June?
- 44:0517th That's that Classics in Scranton, PA in the West side.
- 44:08Any little I miss. I missed the last one because I
- 44:10was hosting an open mic night that night.
- 44:13So I did miss the last Smash show.
- 44:16But maybe I'll bring my speaker and host another open mic after
- 44:21the show. Who knows?
- 44:22And you could bring your guitar and hop.
- 44:24It could be. It could be all the talented
- 44:25musician wrestlers who could just sing a couple songs after
- 44:28the show. We'll we'll just have a family
- 44:30jam. Yeah, I love that.
- 44:33Aside from that, another smash show July 2nd that's happening
- 44:36in troop. I'm going to be at NTW at the
- 44:41Lycoming County Fair. That is a Monday night that's
- 44:44going to be July 17th. I have August 4th and 5th coming
- 44:49up, but I can't say that one yet.
- 44:53But there will be a time and that's exciting.
- 44:55I can't wait to say that, but I got to keep shutting down.
- 45:01But as As for right now, off the top of my head, that's what I
- 45:04have. If I can get down to Excite, I'm
- 45:07not booked on Excite, but I love those guys.
- 45:10They're all fantastic locker room, fantastic wrestlers, love
- 45:14Moose. Check them out too.
- 45:16If you're in the area and you want to see some damn good
- 45:19shows, they got two of them coming up well.
- 45:21High tension, high tension. Wrestling with the shout out
- 45:24earlier on saying about how you impress them at at Classics.
- 45:28I know they have a show coming up on the 10th.
- 45:30It's a prom, it's a it's a wrestling prom.
- 45:33So I've never actually been to Prom, so this is be the first
- 45:36time for me. But maybe, maybe maybe make a
- 45:40Prom appearance? I could I I can get spiffy if I
- 45:44wanna. Yeah man.
- 45:48So I got one question in the chat from Hunter and it says if
- 45:50you could write a letter to your younger younger squid Sterling,
- 45:54what would it say? Just just keep working.
- 46:00Not because it don't get easier. It it doesn't get easier and
- 46:05that's OK, accepted that. But just keep working and try
- 46:10not to bitch about it. I that's what I got to work on.
- 46:13Not bitching. I got to keep my mouth shut more
- 46:15too. That's that's my problem.
- 46:17My Italian Irish kicks in and then I get in trouble.
- 46:20Who are some people on the scene that Squid Sterling want to lock
- 46:24up? Who are some people you want to
- 46:25work, team up with, whatever it may be?
- 46:28Let's start speaking stuff into existence.
- 46:30Who's on the radar for squid? Sterling I.
- 46:34Ricky Price is a guy that I want to lock up with.
- 46:37We had one tag match, but we never even touched each other.
- 46:40I don't even think I'd touch anybody in that match.
- 46:42I screwed my partner. Screw it.
- 46:44Anyway, it was Joey P Joey Perfect okay.
- 46:50Screwed him. Lost our tag belts.
- 46:52Then joined the same team that won the tag belt.
- 46:54So like it's kind of weird. But yeah, I I'd love to lock
- 46:59horns with him. I want to have a one-on-one
- 47:02match with TJ Epics. Got to work him in a three-way
- 47:05with Sear and Rain and had a blast.
- 47:09He hits. How did he not get dizzy work in
- 47:10those three or those two? I never said that.
- 47:14I never said that, he no, I said you work, you worked a three-way
- 47:20with Serin and TJ, right? In that match, I never said I
- 47:28didn't. Yeah.
- 47:23How did you not get like dude, they're quick, they're
- 47:25everywhere. How did you not get?
- 47:29Oh, OK. They they ran me for my money.
- 47:34That was a good time. But yeah, they're oh guys.
- 47:38I want a lot of horns at Mike Skyrose.
- 47:39He's the guy I've been watching, Ricky Price says.
- 47:42You guys can do that Friday night.
- 47:46You're speaking my language, Ricky Price.
- 47:47Oh, did we? Just possibly.
- 47:49I mean, Trosky's got to approve it, but I don't think he's gonna
- 47:51hate it. I I hope you don't hate that
- 47:55because I don't hate that. There you go, we hard to hear on
- 47:58the ABJ podcast enough. You just gotta.
- 48:00I want to come watch it live on on YouTube or live in Hazelton.
- 48:03Come see the first ever Ricky Price Squid Sterling match this
- 48:06Friday, 1st Friday at the Sanctuary.
- 48:09God, I hope we're not false advertising now.
- 48:12We'll make it happen. I'll give Trotsky a couple beers
- 48:16over here, a couple gay beers. That's our that's our new thing
- 48:18is the gay beers we bring, we bring, we bring Bud Lights, and
- 48:23it's our gay beers. As you should, yes any any any
- 48:29other names out there. Off the top of my head.
- 48:35So you put me on the spot. It's my Skyros.
- 48:39I want to work with him. Kobe Riddick is a guy that has
- 48:45popped back up that I've been wanting to work.
- 48:47I actually was thinking Jacoby from the smash shots.
- 48:50I'm like because, like a lot of the guys are saying are quick.
- 48:52Something like that though, yeah.
- 48:54I think. I think you guys can just keep
- 48:57feet planted and just beat the dog shit out of each other.
- 48:59I think that'd be fun to watch. I didn't be fun to do.
- 49:02Yeah. God, I honestly I would like on
- 49:07a pure wrestling sense, I I want to work Matt Turner.
- 49:11One-on-one local legend guy knows his shit and I I don't
- 49:17even care if I get my ass kicked.
- 49:18I at least learn something good. I love that.
- 49:21That's another good one. I love that a lot.
- 49:23Promotions that you have never worked, that you would like to
- 49:26jump into. Promotions.
- 49:28I would love to get out to wrestle pro.
- 49:33I would. I would definitely like to.
- 49:36I know high tension was in there.
- 49:38I'm wanting to get on the high tension show.
- 49:39I'd love to come down and help out.
- 49:43And put in my my use word, it could be used, you know, for
- 49:48lack of a better word, tongue tie.
- 49:51Other than that standalone wrestling, I I would like to get
- 49:55involved in there with pro wrestling After dark.
- 49:57They have a lot of cool things going on.
- 50:00I'd love to get in with Create a Pro.
- 50:04There there's a lot battlefields.
- 50:06I haven't been down to battlefields yet.
- 50:07I want to get. I want to get down to there.
- 50:09They put on a great product WX WC4I.
- 50:14That was the first I worked them once.
- 50:16It was my first ever. Are they still running?
- 50:19They are. I just saw the running in
- 50:21Sunbury. Oh, wow.
- 50:23Coming up, I I don't remember to date right offhand, but I I did
- 50:27just see that they're back, so that's somewhere where I'd like
- 50:30to get involved with. God, yeah, you got me on.
- 50:36You got me on the spot, brother. I love it.
- 50:38No, these are all great answers. I love that a lot.
- 50:41Yeah, man. So where can people find you?
- 50:43On social media? Our comes, our support.
- 50:45You buy merchandise, whatever it may be.
- 50:48Well, everything. Like all my Facebook, Instagram,
- 50:51Twitter, TikTok, YouTube. Excuse me, it's all squid
- 50:55sterling. Some of them you need the under
- 50:58score. I don't, I don't remember which
- 51:00ones need the underscores, which ones don't, but squid sterling
- 51:03on everything and pro wrestling teas.
- 51:06I got a design up on there. You can get some merch.
- 51:08Other than that I'm going to be posting some back merch that I
- 51:11have online soon. I want to clear some of that
- 51:15out, make room for some more stuff.
- 51:16So keep an eye out for that. Maybe some new logos coming.
- 51:20Hint, hint people in the chat. You may be getting a DM, aka.
- 51:25Wink, wink, wink, hint, hint. Hunter Dylan.
- 51:27Just saying Logos by Hunter on Instagram and Twitter.
- 51:33Yeah. Oh, he said creator pro guys
- 51:35come down to the sanctuary every once in a while.
- 51:36There you go. Creator Pros are the place to
- 51:38be. I actually fancy booked my last
- 51:41guest that was on with with Leo Sparrow.
- 51:43I said Leo Sparrow and Ricky Price would be a fun one to
- 51:45watch, but I think Leo you and Leo Sparrow would be another
- 51:48good one there too. I I.
- 51:49Love the work, Leo. I got a pleasure to meet him
- 51:51once. I was at a XW.
- 51:53That's a place where I would love to, you know, to show him
- 51:57what I can offer, yeah. Hopefully, maybe against Leo.
- 52:00Kai. Kai also a good logo designer.
- 52:02Maybe that rocket power one. Maybe something Kai would be
- 52:04like be into. So maybe that we can look at
- 52:06that. He liked he he's the he did the
- 52:08Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons one.
- 52:10I couldn't call it Simpsons, so it's called the ABJ Simp logo.
- 52:17Got to be careful how you name stuff.
- 52:18You get flagged, but any other questions in the chat, I don't
- 52:21think anything else came in. So anything that we didn't talk
- 52:25about, anything you want to plug, anything you want people
- 52:27to know about before we get out of here?
- 52:31For there's one thing that I that I wanted to say earlier.
- 52:35It slipped my head. It's a little story that I had
- 52:40the pleasure of being around so right before my first match.
- 52:46I had a great opportunity to sit down with Bob Backlund and I.
- 52:53Me and him, we just chatted for hours, like probably 3 or 4
- 52:57hours. We just sat there and talked and
- 52:59he gave me all this advice. And for anybody watching,
- 53:04whether you're a fan, whether you're you're worker, whomever,
- 53:08he gave me advice going into a match that I took and tried to
- 53:13translate it. Into everyday life and he said
- 53:18that you have a match no matter how many people are in there.
- 53:22But if one guy goes in there and his sole his sole purpose is to
- 53:32make the other guy look like $1,000,000, beat the shit out of
- 53:34him all you want, and make him look like 1,000,000 bucks.
- 53:36If both people go in there with that exact same attitude you're
- 53:41going to, you can't have a bad match.
- 53:44And I took that to heart. And I also put that into real
- 53:48life, too. Like if you put each other over,
- 53:51like if everybody had that attitude, man, nobody would ever
- 53:54lose. Nobody would ever lose.
- 53:55I totally agree and like I said, we are.
- 53:58We are very fortunate to be in an area in the 570 when it comes
- 54:02to local anything, local business, local artists, local
- 54:06creators, local wrestlers, local musicians.
- 54:09We're fucking talented in these in these coal mountains, man.
- 54:12There's a lot of really talented people and a lot of them are,
- 54:17you know what I mean? And and and we should be
- 54:19supporting each other and putting each other over because
- 54:21there's a lot of potential in this area.
- 54:23But man, I I don't think there's a better way to end it.
- 54:25Squid thank you so much for for doing this and coming and
- 54:28hanging out in the podcast. Like I said dude you're one of
- 54:31my favorite people on the scene. Your attitude the way you
- 54:33conduct yourself you're you're you're a class act dude and more
- 54:36people should be booking Squid Sterling and buying your tshirts
- 54:39and following you on social media.
- 54:40So let's make that happen with the A ABJ Nation.
- 54:43I don't know I don't have a name for my people.
- 54:45The BJ Ers. I think someone said the ABJ Ers
- 54:47I think someone said but we'll figure it out.
- 54:51We'll figure it out. The yeah, the ABJ Ers in the
- 54:53chat, but dude. I appreciate you man.
- 54:57Thank you for having me on here and just aside.
- 55:00Even not for me. Thank you for continuing to do
- 55:02this. And even if you're you're
- 55:05suffering like like in your personal life, you still keep
- 55:08this going to give us a plan. It's hard.
- 55:12I'm trying. And we love you and we
- 55:15appreciate you for that. Don't you ever forget that when
- 55:18you get down? Yeah, I I do.
- 55:20And that's why, honestly, that's what keeps me going, man, is
- 55:22this. I want, I want to have that
- 55:25voice for the people who may have a hard time getting their
- 55:27voice out there. So that that's what motivates me
- 55:29to keep this grinding and keep this moving is so more people
- 55:32can hear about people like you and the rest of the amazing
- 55:34guests I've had on this podcast. And yeah, that's that's what
- 55:38that's the motivating factor for me.
- 55:40Before we get out of here, though, Speaking of amazing
- 55:42people, to get your name out there, this Thursday will be
- 55:44live again. This will be the first week, the

- 56:48wrestling scene. And then a guy that we talked
- 56:50about on this episode will be on the 26th of June on a Monday, 8C
- 56:56Fucking Log will be on the podcast and I might be doing a
- 57:00shot of something with him before we start.
- 57:01To get our nerves down, I'm safe doing it virtually.
- 57:06I can't get spit on, you know what I mean?
- 57:09But but like I said, I have a lot more coming up July.
- 57:12I'll probably jump back on it again hard and get some more
- 57:14stuff. But I am also looking to start
- 57:17filming more interviews in person.
- 57:19I've been testing out the Gopros.
