Episode 124: Obsession (1976)
It’s a beautifully shot, very Hitchcockian thriller with fantastic Italian locations, a terrific Bernard Herrmann score and plenty of the themes De Palma would return to throughout his career. Geneviève Bujold and John Lithgow are both excellent, but I found Cliff Robertson’s performance frustratingly wooden. An interesting early De Palma film and a fascinating glimpse of the filmmaker he would become.
