- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to Wisecracks. I am traveling, which
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'll be coming back. By the time you guys see this,
- 0:07Speaker 1: I will be back in Vegas. But Randy, you are
- 0:12Speaker 1: on the Arizona-Nevada border, is that correct?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Yep, that's correct. Back here down in the Lofflin area,
- 0:20Speaker 2: enjoying the record high heat. Supposed to be 110 again today.
- 0:27Speaker 3: So you guys had that up there, 110 up in
- 0:28Speaker 3: that area? In that area there?
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's even warmer than Vegas here.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't even know.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I am up in the mountains of Pennsylvania where it's
- 0:40Speaker 1: been perfect, 75 to 80 degrees, just God's country. Why
- 0:45Speaker 1: am I here, you may ask, people may ask? Sports betting,
- 0:49Speaker 1: because I have to leave. I have to leave the
- 0:51Speaker 1: sports betting capital of the world, supposedly Nevada, to make legal, listen,
- 0:59Speaker 1: to make legal sports bets. When Westgate closed up, Randy,
- 1:02Speaker 1: that hurt me for player props.
- 1:04Speaker 3: So I came to bet a lot of player props.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And I'm finding, there's like so many casinos within, I
- 1:13Speaker 1: wrote them all down earlier.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I put them on my notepad in case I wasn't
- 1:16Speaker 3: going to mention them now. So ready for this? So
- 1:19Speaker 3: you have Hollywood Sports, Valley.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Forge, Wind Creek, Parks, Rivers, Mount Airy, Resorts World, Mohegan Sun.
- 1:28Speaker 1: All within an hour and a half drive of one
- 1:31Speaker 1: another or something like that. Um, some are actually much closer.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I try to go to the centralized area, but, uh, yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I had to come up here anyway. I think my
- 1:40Speaker 1: tax is done.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I file an extension.
- 1:42Speaker 1: So I figured I would, um, do a little prop
- 1:45Speaker 1: trip and, and I hope I'm going to be given
- 1:48Speaker 1: the same limits I was given this weekend.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Even if you lose sometimes, you.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Know, that they may change their mind the next week
- 1:54Speaker 1: you go in and they may cut you down in
- 1:56Speaker 1: half or third or fourth or whatever it may be.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Um, So you're betting in person, but you're already using
- 2:02Speaker 2: the app too?
- 2:03Speaker 3: In person.
- 2:04Speaker 1: No, app's going to throw you out. App's going to
- 2:06Speaker 1: limit you. The ones that do have apps. So I've
- 2:09Speaker 1: been going to most of the in-person books here.
- 2:12Speaker 2: That's a very good note for the viewers too. You're
- 2:16Speaker 2: better off betting in person. Then they kind of know
- 2:19Speaker 2: who you are. You'll get bigger limits. You can always
- 2:22Speaker 2: ask a little bit more. And the apps will be
- 2:26Speaker 2: more comfortable. But if you start to get good at this...
- 2:30Speaker 2: they limit you to $ 20. So, yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 1: So even I went on DraftKings last night to check
- 2:35Speaker 1: it out to see, and, uh, yeah, there were 90,
- 2:38Speaker 1: 90 bucks, which, you know, 90 bucks is that's the,
- 2:41Speaker 1: you know, less, that's more than the average bet in
- 2:43Speaker 1: the country.
- 2:43Speaker 3: So it's good for most people. That's good.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Um, you know what though, Randy, when you visit different
- 2:49Speaker 1: parts of the country, I really enjoy it sometimes too.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I've been in Vegas for a while. I really don't
- 2:55Speaker 1: leave too often. Um, It's like the movie My Blue Heaven.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You ever see that with Steve Martin? I mentioned it
- 3:02Speaker 1: this morning. He plays a mob guy. I think Vinnie
- 3:05Speaker 1: something gets put in the witness protection program and gets
- 3:08Speaker 1: relocated to like upstate New York somewhere. And everyone's so
- 3:12Speaker 1: different than living in New York or whatever it may be. Well,
- 3:14Speaker 1: it's the same thing than living in Las Vegas.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Come here.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I'm up here in a little town. My buddy lives
- 3:20Speaker 1: in Troop Dunmore, but let's just call it Scranton, the
- 3:23Speaker 1: Scranton area. And Scranton, Pennsylvania, up in the mountains, God's country.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Everybody's so friendly and people wave to you. Like, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 1: people on porch springs, porch swings. I'm looking at the
- 3:34Speaker 1: American flags everywhere. People, you know, there's a blue collar,
- 3:39Speaker 1: hardworking area. People are proud of their country. Proud of,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I miss that. You know, I said, my dad grew
- 3:45Speaker 1: up on the Ohio river, a little country town and
- 3:48Speaker 1: everyone waves to you. And it's just so friendly and
- 3:51Speaker 1: it's just a nice, nice area. compared to a lot
- 3:55Speaker 1: of the craziness in this country today. They almost got me.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Two little girls were on a porch swing. They waved
- 4:02Speaker 1: to my friend who was in his car. I was
- 4:04Speaker 1: in my car. I didn't know what to do. Didn't
- 4:07Speaker 1: know what to do. I even called my wife. What
- 4:10Speaker 1: the F is wrong with me?
- 4:11Speaker 3: Wave back.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You're so nervous.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You're so nervous to wave to kids or anything. They
- 4:17Speaker 1: got this media that makes you go so crazy. I
- 4:19Speaker 1: was like, I was embarrassed for a minute. And I wave,
- 4:22Speaker 1: of course I wave back. So it's harmless.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I like to go up there and go to the
- 4:27Speaker 2: Pocono race one of these times. I'm sure you're pretty
- 4:29Speaker 2: close to that race track.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Is that the Pocono for the NASCAR?
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we are.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I don't think you're far away from that.
- 4:37Speaker 3: No, no, no. I'm right there. I'm right there. But,
- 4:40Speaker 3: you know, it's funny. I talked about this on Visa
- 4:42Speaker 3: this morning.
- 4:43Speaker 1: When you go to these areas here, the little different
- 4:46Speaker 1: dialects and the way they say like wash. Like, yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you gotta wash your clothes. They say warsh. They put
- 4:51Speaker 1: a W-A-R in there, warsh. And they have, it's like
- 4:54Speaker 1: you go to like certain parts of Brooklyn and instead
- 4:58Speaker 1: of saying the toilet, they say the turlet.
- 5:00Speaker 3: And they put an R in there, the turlet. Uh, yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 3: which I, I love it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It's, it's unique, uh, dialect. Randy, where you're from, you
- 5:08Speaker 1: have that, I'm sure, right? You have people, uh, don't
- 5:11Speaker 1: you guys like eat those certain kind of fish? I've
- 5:14Speaker 1: seen a couple of specials, um, like the, the ice
- 5:17Speaker 1: fishing and different things like you, you have.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Uh, that might be that might be northern minnesota i'm thinking.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah you know north dakota has only in lena
- 5:26Speaker 2: and the ludafisk and.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Less uh that's it ludafisk is it that's.
- 5:30Speaker 2: It norwegian yeah yeah.
- 5:32Speaker 3: It's norwegian my wife is half norwegian my.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Wife is nor my wife is uh half norwegian yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 2: She my mom's side was pretty much 100 or pretty
- 5:42Speaker 2: close to it and then my mckay side is uh
- 5:44Speaker 2: pretty mixed. We even got Native American blood in us. Wow.
- 5:48Speaker 1: So you could probably get to bet in those Native
- 5:50Speaker 1: American casinos before me.
- 5:51Speaker 3: That's wonderful. Randy, what kind of fish, what is that fish?
- 5:56Speaker 3: It's a, it's like a, it's a, it's a acquired taste.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Am I saying it right?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Ludafisk. Yeah. It's a different kind of tasting fish.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Of course. Do you eat it? We really like the
- 6:10Speaker 2: walleye and the pike.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Walleye pike.
- 6:13Speaker 2: The walleye is really a, the greatest fish they're freshwater
- 6:17Speaker 2: fishers i think eating perch as well is very good
- 6:21Speaker 2: northern pike have have a little bit more bones but.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Uh now will you you'll go out fishing for that
- 6:26Speaker 1: though and you'll eat it grill it up and like
- 6:28Speaker 1: my grandmother used to take it and cut it and
- 6:30Speaker 1: slice it up through on the grill.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah in fact if you bring a pan just cook
- 6:34Speaker 2: it right up there on the shore even.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That's my that's my dad's side they would cook the
- 6:38Speaker 3: shore lunch.
- 6:40Speaker 1: That's exactly right. How can it get fresher than that? Well, Randy,
- 6:44Speaker 1: speaking of fresh, we got a fresh loss last week.
- 6:47Speaker 3: J.H. was at the game, Northwestern game.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And after that game, I seen a couple people say something,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and I actually said something I haven't said to you yet.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I don't blame you if you don't ever want to
- 6:58Speaker 3: give out a pick again. And we just talk shop.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I don't blame you because it's a– It's just that
- 7:05Speaker 1: the business is, it's a thankless business. You're doing it
- 7:10Speaker 1: for nothing, trying to help people out, trying to have
- 7:12Speaker 1: a better view than they do because you're winning sports
- 7:15Speaker 1: better in lifetime. And we know that from just getting
- 7:19Speaker 1: eliminated or banned from different sports books. But yet some people,
- 7:23Speaker 1: they just have nothing to do. They want to go
- 7:25Speaker 1: after us. So that was one of the terrible beat
- 7:28Speaker 1: for me, for us. I think they were down by nine.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Late in the game, taking 13 and a half and
- 7:35Speaker 1: even 14 and a half at game time. Down by nine,
- 7:39Speaker 1: kicking a field goal on the 20-yard line. And with
- 7:42Speaker 1: a minute change left, they missed a chip shot, 35
- 7:45Speaker 1: or 38-yard field goal. Missed a field goal. And the
- 7:49Speaker 1: other team's trying to run the clock out. First place
- 7:51Speaker 1: in the scrimmage breaks an 80-yard run.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Wow. Wow.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I personally think that was even a worse loss. I
- 8:00Speaker 2: had Western Michigan money line at Kelsey. Have you heard
- 8:03Speaker 2: of that debacle this week?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, of course.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I got the $ 50 rebate because they paid me to start.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They gave me $ 50 good, good faith money or whatever,
- 8:14Speaker 2: since they paid me. But, uh, so I think that's
- 8:18Speaker 2: a worse beat because we missed the field goal and
- 8:21Speaker 2: they had the big long run, which we could have
- 8:23Speaker 2: caught them and tackled them. Then the game would have
- 8:26Speaker 2: been over, uh, then the Hail Mary that, uh, and
- 8:30Speaker 2: the extra second, that Western Michigan lot. So I took,
- 8:33Speaker 2: and that was almost back to back going on simultaneously
- 8:37Speaker 2: when that happened. So, uh, took two of those in
- 8:40Speaker 2: a row. So, uh, that was a little rough stretch
- 8:44Speaker 2: to my Saturday there had an all right winter there
- 8:47Speaker 2: with Idaho state and Tarlington as well. So, uh, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 2: a couple of nice ones to start the day, but, uh, Unfortunately, uh,
- 8:55Speaker 2: we still have one FCS play here against, uh, uh,
- 8:59Speaker 2: number one. Uh, we're going to take number one, uh,
- 9:02Speaker 2: Montana state here traveling to our favorite place, Reno, Nevada.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Unfortunately, uh, crack and I love Reno, Nevada, but, uh, Reno,
- 9:13Speaker 2: Nevada doesn't always like us anymore with the offers and stuff.
- 9:17Speaker 2: We used to get there was really good at one time, but, uh,
- 9:21Speaker 2: beautiful area like tahoe recommend.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I love tahoe oh yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah one of the nice place on earth in the
- 9:29Speaker 2: united states in fact along with deadwood south dakota which
- 9:33Speaker 2: you haven't been to but uh so we're taking montana
- 9:37Speaker 2: state small favorite number one ranked montana state minus two
- 9:41Speaker 2: and a half against a bigger school okay wolf pack so.
- 9:46Speaker 3: When does that game go randy when does that go.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Saturday Saturday night, Saturday night around five o'clock, I believe.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Okay.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Well, there's another play. You come right out with a play.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I was going to save that for the end to
- 9:57Speaker 1: see if you wanted to even do it.
- 9:58Speaker 3: But of course.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Randy, last night's game here, we're in Pennsylvania where I am.
- 10:03Speaker 1: There were my friend down that that's I'm staying in
- 10:07Speaker 1: his house. He took three and a half at Penn
- 10:10Speaker 1: national on his app. So Penn national must be an
- 10:12Speaker 1: app because he took it on his app plus three
- 10:15Speaker 1: and a half. There was three and a half out
- 10:16Speaker 1: there yesterday, two o'clock in the afternoon and six hours
- 10:19Speaker 1: before game time. Of course, there was minus threes all
- 10:23Speaker 1: over the screen too. I seen four, three and a half.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So I seen hard rock.
- 10:26Speaker 3: I think it was rivers. I seen plenty of three
- 10:28Speaker 3: and a half.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Nobody should have lost that game, that opening game last night. Nobody,
- 10:33Speaker 1: because that at worst, you're supposed to push the game.
- 10:36Speaker 1: There's no one that should have lost. Unless you're betting
- 10:38Speaker 1: money line, New England. There's really nobody that should have
- 10:42Speaker 1: lost that game. If you're betting the spread, if you did,
- 10:45Speaker 1: you're really limiting yourself to a sports book.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Where you should have multiple sports books if you're betting.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I'm going to say if you're betting $ 50 or over
- 10:53Speaker 1: a game, $ 100, absolutely you should have more than one out.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Shame on you if you don't. Do you agree?
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you have Penn National? Actually, it's a very
- 11:01Speaker 2: good app for incentive program. I recommend people getting that.
- 11:05Speaker 2: They offer a lot of free bets. They're with the
- 11:08Speaker 2: score now. They were with Barstow. That's how I won
- 11:11Speaker 2: my last vehicle, was betting through Barstow, thanks to Dave
- 11:15Speaker 2: Portnoy and company there. That was how I got my
- 11:18Speaker 2: last Mercedes through betting.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Give us an example. Give the people an example.
- 11:24Speaker 1: How did you get that car?
- 11:26Speaker 3: So much volume?
- 11:30Speaker 2: They were giving away too much incentive for betting on
- 11:34Speaker 2: the app there that you could accrue so many points.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Penn National was set up with them and you could
- 11:39Speaker 2: accrue so many points by betting. They had it way
- 11:43Speaker 2: too high. You can give them your free play too
- 11:46Speaker 2: on your on your card through betting. And, uh, I,
- 11:50Speaker 2: I accrued enough, you know, they were letting me bet
- 11:53Speaker 2: pretty big limit back then. And I bet enough volume that,
- 11:56Speaker 2: and with my casino player at the Ameristar in the,
- 12:00Speaker 2: in the place where I was in Colorado, I was
- 12:02Speaker 2: able to get a free lease for a, for a year.
- 12:06Speaker 2: And then the second year I qualified again, they let
- 12:08Speaker 2: me buy the Mercedes at a nice discounted rate. Plus
- 12:12Speaker 2: they gave me extra free play. So, uh, Thanks to
- 12:15Speaker 2: Dave Portnoy. Like I say, Dave Portnoy's company got me
- 12:19Speaker 2: my latest vehicle, and that's what I'm driving around with now.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Okay, that's funny because he bet that yesterday at Penn National,
- 12:29Speaker 1: three and a half, and I thought he won. And
- 12:31Speaker 1: he decided to say, ah, I actually lost because I
- 12:33Speaker 1: parlayed it with a player prop.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I was like, wait, timeout.
- 12:37Speaker 1: What do you mean you parlay with a player prop?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Like this guy, he should know better too. Like he's
- 12:41Speaker 1: been around me 35 years. What are you saying?
- 12:45Speaker 3: He said, yeah, I watched it.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I watched the Portnoy on, I watched Barstool and that's
- 12:49Speaker 1: what I go by.
- 12:49Speaker 3: I had no.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Idea that the public really goes by the apps and the,
- 12:55Speaker 4: these apps like Barstool and different ones that, you know,
- 12:58Speaker 4: are recommending games and parlays and, It is.
- 13:03Speaker 3: What it is. I was pretty surprised by it.
- 13:05Speaker 1: If he's betting that, what chance does a non-educated public,
- 13:10Speaker 1: and I mean by non-educated, maybe they don't follow guys
- 13:12Speaker 1: like us, they don't follow advantage sports betting, positive EV.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So it just made me think, wow, that's just amazing
- 13:20Speaker 1: that he actually was rooting for New England, but he
- 13:22Speaker 1: didn't get Drake May over something. And that's the reason
- 13:25Speaker 1: why he lost. And it was kind of shocking to me, but.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah. It seems like the new world of betting is
- 13:32Speaker 2: addicted to the same game parlay so much that you hear,
- 13:36Speaker 2: that's all you hear about these companies and they're making,
- 13:39Speaker 2: you know, that's, that's where they're making that extra hold
- 13:42Speaker 2: is through the same game parlays really became popular. There's,
- 13:46Speaker 2: you know, some ways of finding some little bit of
- 13:49Speaker 2: edge doing same game parlays, but then again, the rake
- 13:54Speaker 2: on them are pretty high. So I, Stick with straight bets,
- 13:58Speaker 2: stick with two-teamers, but you tell people that and they
- 14:02Speaker 2: see the big payout and they just go crazy and
- 14:04Speaker 2: want to try to make small money into big money
- 14:07Speaker 2: that way.
- 14:07Speaker 1: 50% to 60%, 70% almost, one of the apps make
- 14:13Speaker 1: their money off parlays.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I was actually surprised to see my buddy do that.
- 14:19Speaker 1: It's funny here. As you can see, I'll give you
- 14:21Speaker 1: guys a tour around the room. My buddy's a mob historian.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I'll show you some stuff. Well, first off, that basketball
- 14:29Speaker 1: there is signed by Kobe Bryant. I actually got that sign.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Believe it or not, I gave him that. I got
- 14:34Speaker 1: him that basketball. One of the owners of Pinnacle Sports
- 14:37Speaker 1: gave him that. And after I introduced him, there is
- 14:41Speaker 1: the Sopranos. And you can see who's sitting right in
- 14:44Speaker 1: the middle of them. That's me next to Vincent Pastore.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Who just passed away. As you look at this table here,
- 14:51Speaker 3: three of them died here.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Tony Sirico. Vincent Pastor, James Gandolfini. That's me there with
- 14:57Speaker 1: the whole cast of the surprise. There's all their autographs
- 14:59Speaker 1: are on here too. I gave one, I just give
- 15:01Speaker 1: it to my, my buddy's a kind of a story.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And as you can see, he got Doyle Brunson and, and, uh,
- 15:07Speaker 1: look at all his stuff. His, this is all mob
- 15:09Speaker 1: books and books on poker. And I mean, this, this, this,
- 15:13Speaker 1: he is a real mafia historian here. Uh, as you
- 15:18Speaker 1: could see all these different things, there's him with, uh,
- 15:21Speaker 1: What's her name?
- 15:21Speaker 3: She played Janice on The Sopranos.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Anyway. I recommend anybody that takes a trip to down
- 15:27Speaker 2: in Vegas, go to the Mob Museum, spend a couple hours.
- 15:32Speaker 2: You know, you won't take it all in, but I
- 15:35Speaker 2: guess they got a Scoot Museum. They didn't have that
- 15:37Speaker 2: when I first went, but that Mob Museum is pretty
- 15:40Speaker 2: neat in Vegas as well.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You know, it's a shame today at the Mob Museum,
- 15:45Speaker 1: which I would love to see. It's funny that you're
- 15:47Speaker 1: mentioning that. Today at the Mob Museum, in Las Vegas. Um,
- 15:53Speaker 1: they have, is it today or tomorrow?
- 15:55Speaker 3: No, it's the 12th. It's the 12th.
- 15:57Speaker 1: That they have, um, this guy that wrote the book,
- 16:00Speaker 1: the Westies and the Westies, uh, Irish book on the Irish,
- 16:05Speaker 1: on the Irish gang.
- 16:06Speaker 3: And it's really, really an amazing thing that.
- 16:09Speaker 1: They're having, uh, September 10th.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Is there free for all members here? And it's TJ
- 16:16Speaker 1: English who wrote the Westies book. He's going to be
- 16:18Speaker 1: at the mob museum today, uh, Mob historian. Boy, I
- 16:23Speaker 1: would have loved to have seen this guy today. I
- 16:28Speaker 1: never got to meet him, but I read a couple
- 16:29Speaker 1: of his books. This one is respected organized crime historian T.J.
- 16:35Speaker 1: English returns to the subject of his first book, The
- 16:38Speaker 1: Bloody Saga of the Westies Irish American Gang that became
- 16:41Speaker 1: one of New York's most notorious underworld outfits under the
- 16:44Speaker 1: leadership of Jimmy Coonan and Mickey Featherstone. Jimmy Coonan is
- 16:48Speaker 1: trying to get himself out of jail right now. But, yeah,
- 16:52Speaker 1: there's the guy I'm talking about, T.J.
- 16:53Speaker 3: English there.
- 16:55Speaker 1: And, you know, that book was so good. And I'll
- 16:58Speaker 1: tell you why it's relative to me. I lived in
- 17:00Speaker 1: a little town called Kingsburg, New Jersey. And Kingsburg, that
- 17:04Speaker 1: Jersey Shore boardwalk town, they had a house there. Jimmy
- 17:08Speaker 1: Coonan and his wife was renting. I think they were
- 17:10Speaker 1: renting a house on Forest Avenue right where my grandfather
- 17:14Speaker 1: lived next door. And I remember my mom saying that
- 17:19Speaker 1: she used to see Edna, his wife, pushing a baby
- 17:22Speaker 1: carriage up. And we got to live in a little
- 17:24Speaker 1: one-mile small town, Irish, Catholic, Italian, Jewish town. Really great,
- 17:31Speaker 1: great town to live in when I was a kid.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I absolutely loved it. We knew everyone. Boardwalk, beach town. But, yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 3: they lived in that town.
- 17:38Speaker 1: They used to actually, you know, go to Hell's Kitchen
- 17:41Speaker 1: from there. And I knew a lot about that, the Westies.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So that book was so good. I appreciated it so much.
- 17:49Speaker 1: It was one of the members of the Westies lived
- 17:52Speaker 1: right on my block. Two blocks away is where Coonan lived.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Of course, we didn't know how deadly of a people
- 17:59Speaker 1: they were. Paul Castellano actually hired them to work for
- 18:03Speaker 1: the Gambino family. That's how Ruthless they were. And like
- 18:07Speaker 1: I said, he's trying to he's actually trying to get out.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Of jail now, though.
- 18:10Speaker 1: So, yeah, Mob Museum really shocked me to how good
- 18:13Speaker 1: it was. I think the Mob Museum, they did such
- 18:15Speaker 1: a great job with that. I thought it was going
- 18:17Speaker 1: to be kind of like, you know, gimmicky and not.
- 18:21Speaker 3: I love the Mob Museum.
- 18:22Speaker 1: They the self-guided tour, the audio tour and the different
- 18:26Speaker 1: things they have in there. You can make a whole
- 18:28Speaker 1: day of that if that's your if that's your thing. Uh,
- 18:31Speaker 1: it's a, it's a great, great thing to do. Randy,
- 18:34Speaker 1: I'm going to talk some subjects with you before we
- 18:35Speaker 1: get into some picks. Did you hear what happened at
- 18:37Speaker 1: stations casinos with their $ 70 million stock giveaway?
- 18:41Speaker 3: You hear about that?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah. The Fertitta's like to take care of their employees and, uh,
- 18:47Speaker 2: they're really good about doing that. And I, I heard
- 18:50Speaker 2: a little bit about it. A friend of mine used
- 18:52Speaker 2: to work there. He, uh, he put it in one
- 18:54Speaker 2: of our chats. So I heard a little bit about it, but, uh,
- 18:57Speaker 2: fill me in.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Yeah. So I'm looking, I'm just, uh, I'm looking here
- 19:02Speaker 3: to see what the amount is. $ 70 million. Okay.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Workers will receive $ 1, 000 in stock.
- 19:06Speaker 3: For every year of service.
- 19:07Speaker 1: With longtime employee Ida Johnson set to receive $ 49, 000 for
- 19:13Speaker 1: her 49 years of working. Nearly 10,000 employees are partaking
- 19:20Speaker 1: in this 50th anniversary. The award comes after Supreme Court
- 19:24Speaker 1: rejected Red Rock's appeal over obligation to recognize and bargain
- 19:27Speaker 1: with the Culinary Union.
- 19:28Speaker 3: So, yeah, so.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Very, very, very, very interesting here that they have given
- 19:36Speaker 1: all this money away. I had multiple texts. Multiple people
- 19:39Speaker 1: have texted me on this, as you can see here.
- 19:42Speaker 1: They also honored some team members who have been there
- 19:46Speaker 1: since the company since the 70s with additional gifts.
- 19:49Speaker 3: But, yeah, pretty cool. though look at that.
- 19:50Speaker 1: That's uh i mean i talk good and bad i
- 19:54Speaker 1: listen they don't take my bets over the app which
- 19:56Speaker 1: i'm sure they don't take your bets over the app
- 19:58Speaker 1: or they give you one bet a day or some
- 20:00Speaker 1: kind of rule uh but good good for these long-time
- 20:03Speaker 1: employees good good for them um I'm Warren sharp texting
- 20:10Speaker 1: me right now. Do you have access to FanDuel?
- 20:12Speaker 3: You're in Pennsylvania, but I don't, I'm not on the app.
- 20:14Speaker 1: So I will say later. I will, I may go
- 20:18Speaker 1: out and see some, but I don't have access. I
- 20:20Speaker 1: really don't bet on the app.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I heard FanDuel is okay on the don't, I'm just
- 20:27Speaker 1: telling them, don't worry. Just release it.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 1: So Warren, Warren has some good, some good information.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Too bad about stations. They should give us a hundred
- 20:37Speaker 2: dollars free play for every year. We've been a member.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Wow. That would be the way, you know, that's the
- 20:43Speaker 3: smart thing.
- 20:44Speaker 1: They would, they would definitely be getting.
- 20:47Speaker 3: A portion of the money, a large portion of their
- 20:49Speaker 3: money back. How about that?
- 20:52Speaker 1: Like you've seen a couple of weeks ago when I
- 20:53Speaker 1: put that on my Twitter, I got a couple million
- 20:55Speaker 1: views on treasure Island. They were trying to do that
- 20:57Speaker 1: for a week, but they did it for the first
- 21:00Speaker 1: weekend on the first week only.
- 21:01Speaker 3: You didn't get that at all. Randy.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I wasn't able to make it to Vegas. I didn't
- 21:05Speaker 2: figure it was worth the special trip to Vegas out
- 21:07Speaker 2: of my way to get there for that and wait. Well,
- 21:10Speaker 2: I wouldn't have to wait because you said you could
- 21:12Speaker 2: have swiped at the kiosk.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah, if you had an existing card. If you had
- 21:17Speaker 3: an existing card, I'm told you could have swiped at
- 21:19Speaker 3: the kiosk.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Now, they need to do something, but of course, old
- 21:23Speaker 2: Ruffin there, he's not the best, most generous casino owner.
- 21:27Speaker 3: That was a good... That was a big thing. That
- 21:29Speaker 3: was a big thing. Hey, did you see.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Usually I'm not paying attention to these type of things,
- 21:34Speaker 1: but some like multiple people said something to me and
- 21:37Speaker 1: I looked at the whole video. Did you see Sydney
- 21:39Speaker 1: Sweeney's ad for Novig? I think it's called Novig. Did
- 21:44Speaker 1: you see that yesterday?
- 21:46Speaker 2: I have not seen that. No.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Did you hear about it even or anything?
- 21:50Speaker 2: I heard a little bit about it. Yeah. She's a,
- 21:52Speaker 2: you know, attractive lady. She is. She is.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I mean, Yeah, look at her sitting on top of
- 21:59Speaker 1: the basketball court there. Oh, did she sit on there?
- 22:02Speaker 1: She's sitting on a basketball hoop naked. Some of the
- 22:08Speaker 1: things that she did on this video, I mean, obviously, guys,
- 22:12Speaker 1: people love pretty girls on ads. This one actually surprised me.
- 22:18Speaker 1: She kept on talking about sports and sports betting and
- 22:21Speaker 1: wearing very little. My mother used to say, My old-fashioned
- 22:26Speaker 1: Italian mom, she said, Billy, they leave nothing to the imagination,
- 22:30Speaker 1: like they're supposed to.
- 22:32Speaker 3: She is right.
- 22:32Speaker 1: This was very... But anyway, yeah, so her ad campaign
- 22:37Speaker 1: of working for, I guess, No Big. I don't have
- 22:39Speaker 1: No Big, but I heard of it. I just don't
- 22:42Speaker 1: know really what it is. Obviously, it's a prediction market.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Am I right? Is that what No Big is?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it is No Big. Yeah, there used to be
- 22:50Speaker 2: low VIG, which was with BetOnline. I get them mixed up,
- 22:54Speaker 2: but now there's a no VIG. That's one of these
- 22:56Speaker 2: prediction markets, which I'm starting to use a little bit
- 22:59Speaker 2: more this year.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Oh, good.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Arizona. And I'll keep you guys updated. But so far,
- 23:05Speaker 2: so good with them. Helps me not have to find
- 23:11Speaker 2: extra people to use some of these ones where we're
- 23:14Speaker 2: getting limited all the time.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Okay. In a spot to sure make a lot of people, men.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Blush, the actress scantily clad, using basketballs, footballs, and other
- 23:24Speaker 1: sporting equipment to cover this from being an X-rated video.
- 23:29Speaker 3: So there you have it. I noticed that.
- 23:32Speaker 1: All right, Randy, next subject. Sharp money fades Seahawks as...
- 23:37Speaker 1: the Circa sees Patriots action. This was last night. So
- 23:42Speaker 1: sharp bettors were backing New England and then Seattle went
- 23:45Speaker 1: down to three. We talked a little bit about this earlier,
- 23:48Speaker 1: but I wanted to talk about Circa in general. Circa
- 23:51Speaker 1: faces over a million dollars in Raiders liability, but remains
- 23:55Speaker 1: unconcerned about a championship payout.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I don't think they have to worry about the Raiders winning.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I don't know your, your buddy, J JT, the brick.
- 24:04Speaker 2: He came after me last week.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah. He got upset. Not at you though. Did
- 24:09Speaker 3: he get upset at you?
- 24:10Speaker 2: A little bit. He says, says, remind that guy that
- 24:14Speaker 2: you have on crack, man, that the Raiders have this, this,
- 24:17Speaker 2: this player.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Oh, he did.
- 24:19Speaker 2: You know, it was fun. I like JT. I like it.
- 24:22Speaker 2: But I know he's, ultimate Raider fan.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Oh, he called, he's on the sideline. He knows everyone
- 24:29Speaker 3: on the team. I mean, he interviews them all. So yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Um, I responded to him, but he hasn't, he hasn't
- 24:36Speaker 2: responded to me back. I.
- 24:39Speaker 3: I think he asked for your, he asked where you live.
- 24:41Speaker 3: He asked for your address.
- 24:41Speaker 2: So, all right, let's come on now. JT. Well, uh,
- 24:47Speaker 2: We'll have dinner together and talk about the Raiders.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Nice, nice, nice, nice.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 3: So anyway, there was in the sharp money backs, the
- 24:58Speaker 3: Patriots here.
- 24:59Speaker 1: So I bet you the books didn't do good on
- 25:01Speaker 1: that game last night because there was three, when it
- 25:04Speaker 1: lands on three and the line is three, they had
- 25:07Speaker 1: three and a half in the afternoon, the day before
- 25:10Speaker 1: and four, they opened up five and a half.
- 25:12Speaker 2: So, That's a guillotine punch to them right at the start.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 2: You have to get out that change bucket.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I got that bucket back in Vegas.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I can pull it out and I'll see what I
- 25:25Speaker 1: can collect for the bookmakers.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Kind of feel bad for them in general.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Play some Alice Cooper.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yep.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Since you don't like to go to rock concerts anymore,
- 25:37Speaker 2: I invite you to.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Alice Cooper I've seen open up for I think they
- 25:43Speaker 1: opened up for Motley Crue when I seen him. I
- 25:45Speaker 1: think he was very good. He opened up for Motley Crue.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I seen him open up like 10 years ago.
- 25:51Speaker 3: It was great.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Did he do the Guillotine Act?
- 25:54Speaker 1: Yeah, he did.
- 25:55Speaker 3: He had it on stage. Yep, he had it on
- 25:56Speaker 3: stage for him.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yep, yep. That's when you said it. Friday morning's game
- 26:00Speaker 1: in Australia, which will be tonight for us. They have
- 26:03Speaker 1: a game September 10th. 8.35 p.m. on Netflix tonight. I
- 26:10Speaker 1: just realized that. 5.35 your time. So that game is tonight,
- 26:15Speaker 1: and it's in Melbourne.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Do you have anything on that, by the way, Randall?
- 26:19Speaker 3: Nothing really?
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yep, that's one of my plays. Plus four, San Francisco.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Oh, we can't get that out in time.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I thought we were going to do the show yesterday
- 26:28Speaker 2: when it was plus four.
- 26:29Speaker 3: We were going to. Is there fours out there right now?
- 26:32Speaker 3: I don't have the lines in front of me.
- 26:33Speaker 2: There might be one or two rogue ones. Okay. I
- 26:37Speaker 2: still like it. You know, we're doing the mob theme here. Uh,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I don't know if you know, but the Bosa brothers, great,
- 26:44Speaker 2: great grandfathers, Tony Ocardo.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 26:48Speaker 2: He was second to Al Capone. So, uh, you know,
- 26:52Speaker 2: he's very famous. He's very famous for being a clean mobster.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Never got accused, never spent one day in prison for
- 26:59Speaker 2: his whole, for his whole tenure in the mob. So, uh,
- 27:04Speaker 2: so he got away with everything and, uh, No, but
- 27:07Speaker 2: I like it here. I think they have the travel advantage.
- 27:10Speaker 2: They talked a lot about that. And this is when
- 27:13Speaker 2: you're going to get them totally healthy in the division game.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And then we've got an overpriced Rams team here coming in.
- 27:20Speaker 2: They're going to be overpriced to begin the season in
- 27:22Speaker 2: a lot of these spreads. So I like the division
- 27:26Speaker 2: rival here. I like getting the points. And hopefully we
- 27:29Speaker 2: get another game like we did last night. I think
- 27:32Speaker 2: it will be more high scoring than last night. Exactly.
- 27:35Speaker 2: no low scoring, and hopefully the quarterbacks stay healthy. You know,
- 27:40Speaker 2: that Darnold injury was, you know, kind of deflating for
- 27:43Speaker 2: Seattle betters and me to start the game. But, you know,
- 27:49Speaker 2: that's key to having a good backup. Worked out pretty
- 27:52Speaker 2: well there. So, no, I like San Fran plus four,
- 27:56Speaker 2: and that's my first play of the week here.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 27:59Speaker 2: In the mob matchup. Hopefully we turn out like Al
- 28:03Speaker 2: Capone and not like Bugs Moran.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Uh, Al Capone recruited a Cardo into his crew. He
- 28:09Speaker 1: was one of his top hit men and he was also,
- 28:11Speaker 1: his nickname was known as Joe batters. So, uh, even
- 28:14Speaker 1: though you said in his spending time in jail, I'm
- 28:17Speaker 1: sure he did one or two things that.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Might've been a little unethical in his life.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Uh, yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 3: So that, that's kind of interesting. You mentioned that.
- 28:24Speaker 2: They say when he was in charge, him and Paul Rica, that, uh,
- 28:29Speaker 2: that he used to go in the Cubs locker room
- 28:31Speaker 2: before the game and said, boys, you're not winning today.
- 28:35Speaker 2: wow too much money on the cubs or whatever or
- 28:37Speaker 2: the white socks either or probably and said boys uh
- 28:41Speaker 2: you're not gonna win this game today.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Randy how do you know all this stuff you're a
- 28:46Speaker 1: mob historian we didn't even know you.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Were i like the chicago mob and i like some
- 28:50Speaker 2: of the new york you know the stuff with lefty
- 28:54Speaker 2: left our lucky luciano and uh You know, some of
- 28:57Speaker 2: that stuff I've studied quite a bit, so I know
- 29:00Speaker 2: a little bit about it.
- 29:00Speaker 1: All right, Randy, I want to get your opinion on
- 29:02Speaker 1: this week's weekly WagerWire segment.
- 29:04Speaker 3: WagerWire.com on the WagerWire app.
- 29:07Speaker 1: This is a three-teamer, $ 25 to win $ 9. 55 over on
- 29:11Speaker 1: the WagerWire marketplace. Original odds are plus 38 to 1.
- 29:16Speaker 1: The first two legs have cashed of this segment.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Minnesota Timberwolves, he had in the game versus Atlanta. He
- 29:22Speaker 3: won that one.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And then Arizona to reach the final four. Those two
- 29:26Speaker 1: are favorites, though. Minus 245, minus 135. The last leg
- 29:31Speaker 1: is the Toronto Blue Jays to win the World Series,
- 29:35Speaker 1: which is going.
- 29:36Speaker 3: To have a tough time with that one. So the original.
- 29:40Speaker 1: bet of $ 25 to win $ 9.
- 29:42Speaker 3: 55.
- 29:44Speaker 1: The cash out offers $ 21, offering him a $ 4 loss. However,
- 29:48Speaker 1: WagerWire giving a little bit of a profit.
- 29:51Speaker 4: $ 32.
- 29:52Speaker 1: So as you could see, the current Toronto World Series
- 29:57Speaker 1: odds is actually up from the 16-1 that he took,
- 30:01Speaker 1: or 15-1 he took it at.
- 30:03Speaker 3: You can get a lot better now on that.
- 30:06Speaker 1: So the question becomes, does this guy cut his losses
- 30:08Speaker 1: and be happy? He can essentially, let's just call it,
- 30:11Speaker 1: break even on his original stake. Or does he ride
- 30:13Speaker 1: it out and hope Toronto is able to snag the
- 30:16Speaker 1: last playoff spot?
- 30:17Speaker 3: Now, right away, I say....
- 30:21Speaker 1: If you can cash it out and get even, you
- 30:23Speaker 1: could probably get better than that 15 to 1. Am
- 30:25Speaker 1: I thinking right, Randy? So that's what you'd probably do.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That's my suggestion. I'm sure it's going to be Randy's too.
- 30:32Speaker 1: You're not chugging a beer in the middle of WagerWire, right?
- 30:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 30:36Speaker 1: No.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Okay. Red Bull. There you go. All right. Oof. They're
- 30:40Speaker 3: tough too. Can't do them. Anyway.
- 30:41Speaker 2: All right.
- 30:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 30:43Speaker 3: All right. Cheers. More power to you. or my dear
- 30:47Speaker 3: park water. Uh, but anyway, all right.
- 30:49Speaker 1: So anyway, I would think to cash this out, if
- 30:52Speaker 1: you can, if you could sell this and maybe you
- 30:54Speaker 1: want to put something to saw buck or a double
- 30:56Speaker 1: saw buck on the current Toronto blue Jays, which I
- 30:58Speaker 1: don't think have a chance to win the world series.
- 31:00Speaker 1: In my own opinion, you have, you think anything about Toronto?
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I would, I would probably just cash it out
- 31:09Speaker 2: and move on from it. I think is the best,
- 31:11Speaker 2: probably the best option. You know, we don't usually recommend
- 31:14Speaker 2: cashing out, but, uh, You know, that one, if you
- 31:17Speaker 2: can break even on it, you know, I don't– the
- 31:20Speaker 2: current odds of Toronto making the playoffs is probably, you know,
- 31:24Speaker 2: a little too far for that. And like you said,
- 31:27Speaker 2: just to– if you like Toronto that much, just cash
- 31:29Speaker 2: out and re-bet it and you're getting a better deal.
- 31:31Speaker 1: That's what I would– right away, that's what I would say.
- 31:34Speaker 1: So there's a suggestion from me, both me and Randy
- 31:36Speaker 1: and I, Cash that out. If you want to throw
- 31:39Speaker 1: something back on the current odds, shop around. You can
- 31:42Speaker 1: get some pretty good odds there. WagerWire.com, WagerWire app. Randy,
- 31:47Speaker 1: let's go to our next subject here. A disgruntled gambler
- 31:51Speaker 1: who went into a casino, pointed a gun at the
- 31:54Speaker 1: staff after a massive loss in Cincinnati, was sentenced to
- 31:58Speaker 1: 52 years in jail. They are looking to give this
- 32:02Speaker 1: guy a, they're making an example out of him. Devin
- 32:05Speaker 1: O'Connor wrote this article for casino.org. When I seen this,
- 32:09Speaker 1: I was taken back a little bit. 52 years just
- 32:14Speaker 1: for going in the airport. look, granted, I'm, I'm all
- 32:17Speaker 1: for it. You want to, you can't let people get
- 32:19Speaker 1: away with this. It'll give other people examples. Um, Cincinnati
- 32:22Speaker 1: man spent in the next 52 years in Indiana prison
- 32:24Speaker 1: for holding up a Hollywood casino, Lawrenceburg at gunpoint.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Uh, and it even says taking a hostage. So, um,
- 32:33Speaker 3: at this standoff.
- 32:34Speaker 1: So yeah, this, this guy, and he looks just like, wow,
- 32:37Speaker 1: you could just doesn't look like a guy that you,
- 32:40Speaker 1: that that's going to hold up a casino. So they, uh,
- 32:45Speaker 1: They obviously have him there, as you can see. That's what, yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 1: he held up, that's one of the employees. He's the
- 32:52Speaker 1: guy in the black holding up one of the employees.
- 32:54Speaker 1: This article, I'm going to send JH a link there. Yeah, no,
- 32:59Speaker 1: this is an out-of-control gambler here that they're making an
- 33:04Speaker 1: example of him for sure. So that's something I wanted
- 33:07Speaker 1: to share too. Randy, this is slots for you and I.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Last subject before we get into your picks.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I'm going to add some to that. When was the
- 33:14Speaker 2: last public hanging? In the 1910s or whatever?
- 33:18Speaker 3: Randy, you probably know more about that than me. They're
- 33:20Speaker 3: always in there over in Deadwood.
- 33:22Speaker 2: They should probably bring some public hangings back into society,
- 33:27Speaker 2: even though they wouldn't allow it today. But that would
- 33:30Speaker 2: maybe stop some of this stuff.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Randy, I want to go. last thing I want to,
- 33:39Speaker 1: last subject matter. This is about the near misses on
- 33:42Speaker 1: slot machines. So like, let's say you get like a
- 33:46Speaker 1: red seven, red seven, red seven right.
- 33:48Speaker 3: There on the last reel.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Red seven, red seven, red seven down, red seven up,
- 33:52Speaker 1: just missing by one. This is, it's bothersome to me
- 33:57Speaker 1: when I see this and it should be more of a,
- 34:02Speaker 1: I know it's, you asked the question, aren't slot machines
- 34:05Speaker 1: supposed to be random? Well, Random doesn't mean every symbol
- 34:09Speaker 1: has the same chance of appearing. That just gives you
- 34:14Speaker 1: the false sense into our brain of, hey, you're getting close,
- 34:20Speaker 1: which is total bullshit.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I got something for you.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Go ahead. I knew you were looking for something on
- 34:24Speaker 3: your phone. What do you got?
- 34:27Speaker 2: So I don't know. You're not going to probably be
- 34:28Speaker 2: able to see this, but this is a $ 10 million
- 34:31Speaker 2: scare where I hit the first four megabucks on this
- 34:35Speaker 2: machine here and the fifth one didn't come in.
- 34:38Speaker 3: So, no, that's the megabucks. I know the game, but.
- 34:42Speaker 2: There's those little megabuck symbols that's on there with the
- 34:46Speaker 2: wolf run.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Where are they at?
- 34:50Speaker 3: Just point to them so we can see them. Because
- 34:51Speaker 3: I even know that game. Oh, is it the little.
- 34:53Speaker 1: I see it, I see it. I just seen it
- 34:54Speaker 1: when you pulled it away. Yeah, put it up a
- 34:57Speaker 1: little bit. Yeah, I see them. So, you missed by one.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I missed by one on the last one. On
- 35:04Speaker 2: the last one. It didn't pay anything for the first four. Wow.
- 35:08Speaker 3: First four, you get nothing. Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 2: So that might be one of those teaser type deals
- 35:14Speaker 2: because I did get that a little bit later as
- 35:17Speaker 2: well on that same machine. I'm like, dang, I'm one
- 35:20Speaker 2: off of 10 million.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Now you could see what they did here. They, they,
- 35:23Speaker 3: they put rats to do it, to do an experiment.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Uh, 2011 neuroscientists, uh, at Oxford built a literal rack casino,
- 35:31Speaker 1: three flashing lights, replacing slot reels, uh, Three lights and
- 35:34Speaker 1: they got a jackpot and a pellet of food.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Anything else was zilch.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Pressing the lever after the non-wind triggered a time penalty
- 35:42Speaker 1: because even the rats needed consequences. The rats did something
- 35:46Speaker 1: very human. They hammered the level after near misses.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Two lights, even though it punished them. Why?
- 35:52Speaker 1: Because their dopamine neurons treated it almost like a win
- 35:57Speaker 1: to them. So when drugged with these dopamine-boosting compounds, the
- 36:01Speaker 1: rat chased the near-misses even harder. Strangely enough, birds didn't
- 36:05Speaker 1: fall for the scam. And this team of neuroscientists at
- 36:09Speaker 1: the University of Florida ran the same concept with pigeons.
- 36:11Speaker 1: They didn't care about the near-misses either. They actually avoided them.
- 36:15Speaker 1: But yet, the unbelievable, the mammals... evolved the delusion almost
- 36:21Speaker 1: winning when the birds did not. It's very interesting how
- 36:25Speaker 1: this just shows you when there's near misses, you say.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Man, the machine's hot. It's hot though. I feel it.
- 36:30Speaker 1: It's hot because of those near misses. And it's just
- 36:33Speaker 1: a dopamine scare. It's total BS. Nice article here by
- 36:37Speaker 1: Corey Levitan, who is a great writer, another writer that
- 36:41Speaker 1: I really appreciate. So Um, Randy, I guess I am
- 36:45Speaker 1: ready for you. What do you got for us for
- 36:48Speaker 1: football for this weekend?
- 36:49Speaker 2: Well, I gave away the San Fran. I gave away
- 36:51Speaker 2: the Montana state. That'll be the college play of the week.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:55Speaker 2: And then I gave the San Fran. That was one
- 36:57Speaker 2: of my NFL. I have two more NFL for you.
- 37:00Speaker 2: If you want to hear the explanation of why I
- 37:02Speaker 2: like here. And, uh, one might've moved again. And yesterday
- 37:08Speaker 2: I thought we were doing the show and, uh, I
- 37:11Speaker 2: actually drove across the border here to get this play,
- 37:14Speaker 2: and one advantage of me living here on the border
- 37:17Speaker 2: of Arizona and Nevada is I can quickly drive over
- 37:20Speaker 2: to Nevada and get Carolina plus three and a half
- 37:23Speaker 2: against the Chicago Bears.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Okay. Carolina's a very tough home team, and they're competitive
- 37:31Speaker 2: when they play these supposedly higher-up, better teams that should
- 37:39Speaker 2: beat them. Especially at home, they have a very good
- 37:42Speaker 2: home record in this situation. And we're getting a home
- 37:45Speaker 2: dog here in the first week. And I'm mostly betting
- 37:49Speaker 2: against the Chicago team that I'm down on this year.
- 37:52Speaker 2: You know, their offensive line had a retirement in it.
- 37:57Speaker 2: And they're ranked one of the lower offensive lines in
- 38:00Speaker 2: my rankings. And that could regress that powerful offense that
- 38:04Speaker 2: they need to have because their defense is one of
- 38:08Speaker 2: the worst defenses. in the league that exceeded last year
- 38:12Speaker 2: only because of turnover luck and a lot of, a
- 38:16Speaker 2: lot of turnovers. They, I think they were one of
- 38:18Speaker 2: the top teams of plus minus. So I think that's
- 38:22Speaker 2: going to regress for them as well this year, along
- 38:25Speaker 2: with a tougher schedule. So mark me down the Carolina
- 38:29Speaker 2: Panthers plus three and a half and a close game
- 38:31Speaker 2: there in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Okay. That's good. You got it. You got, um, you
- 38:38Speaker 3: got one more.
- 38:38Speaker 2: You said, Yep, and, you know, I would have had
- 38:42Speaker 2: Seattle last night to give out to the crew, but
- 38:45Speaker 2: they already pushed for us, so we don't have to
- 38:49Speaker 2: worry about that one. We're going to move on to
- 38:52Speaker 2: what would have been my fourth play here, and that's
- 38:54Speaker 2: the New Orleans Saints. Now, you might get better than
- 38:58Speaker 2: this at post, but right now it's seven flat. You
- 39:02Speaker 2: might get a seven even money. You might even get
- 39:04Speaker 2: that rogue seven and a half in this game. because
- 39:07Speaker 2: people like the Detroit lions coming into the season, but
- 39:11Speaker 2: what they don't realize here, we got, uh, a hot
- 39:15Speaker 2: team in new Orleans who all performed expectation last year
- 39:19Speaker 2: and covered seven out of their last games, eight games
- 39:23Speaker 2: going into, uh, the season last year. And I see
- 39:26Speaker 2: that momentum continuing for this team. And, uh, Detroit had
- 39:30Speaker 2: to reshuffle their offensive line. You know, they have a
- 39:34Speaker 2: new offensive coordinator as well. They did draft an offensive lineman,
- 39:39Speaker 2: but having to reshuffle this offensive line could pose trouble
- 39:43Speaker 2: for their statute quarterback, Jared Goff. And they have a
- 39:47Speaker 2: very shaky back end to their defense. And their defense
- 39:51Speaker 2: is rated a little low for me. So that could
- 39:56Speaker 2: contest well for us getting plus 7, 7.5 with a
- 40:01Speaker 2: team that could win this game outright and destroy some
- 40:04Speaker 2: hopes here for the Detroit Lions fans to start the season.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Pesky New Orleans team, which I'm kind of high on
- 40:11Speaker 2: this year, getting plus 7 in this situation. Looks like
- 40:15Speaker 2: a good spot here in the Mortar City.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Okay, cool.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Randy, I heard something on VSIN this morning. Elio Fustel
- 40:25Speaker 1: was saying about teasers. It's a good segment. If you
- 40:28Speaker 1: get to watch it later on, he was saying how
- 40:30Speaker 1: they're more playable than people think.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Did you hear that this morning after I was on?
- 40:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I listened to Elihu.
- 40:37Speaker 3: What'd you think about that? That was interesting. I always
- 40:40Speaker 3: think how bad teasers are.
- 40:41Speaker 1: I don't really look at it, but from his standpoint, he,
- 40:44Speaker 1: he showed some math behind certain teasers can still be good.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:49Speaker 2: He's kind of expanding in the little, uh, traditional Wong
- 40:53Speaker 2: type teaser thing. And that was a very good segment.
- 40:56Speaker 2: In fact, Gil could have probably had him on for
- 40:57Speaker 2: a second segment there.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I like him. They should have him on for 30 minutes.
- 41:03Speaker 2: That guy is a, exceptional at what he does and
- 41:07Speaker 2: worked at Pinnacle and very, very well respected by me
- 41:11Speaker 2: and many others in the business.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Sure.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Definitely. Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 1: He had some interesting things to say, what percentage you
- 41:19Speaker 1: need to win one of the sides to beat teasers.
- 41:21Speaker 1: But he also said, Certain sports books have certain kind
- 41:26Speaker 1: of teasers that are more beatable than others and expanded
- 41:28Speaker 1: on that. I recommend anyone look at this. It's only
- 41:30Speaker 1: a 10 minute segment. I recommend anyone go back and
- 41:34Speaker 1: take a peek at that.
- 41:34Speaker 3: That was, it was that, it was that good.
- 41:36Speaker 1: But well, Randy, I appreciate you coming on here, giving
- 41:40Speaker 1: out some plays to the, to our guys and look
- 41:43Speaker 1: forward to have you back next week.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I am heading back to Vegas, buddy. All right. I'll
- 41:47Speaker 3: talk to you.
- 41:48Speaker 2: All right. I'll see you next week back in Vegas
- 41:50Speaker 2: and good luck everybody out there this week.
