- 0:00Happy Thursday morning from a nice warm hotel room in West
- 0:08Yellowstone. So every day I've been outside
- 0:14putting on a show for all you. Yesterday it was 17° and snowy.
- 0:21I decided that I would do it from my hotel room on this
- 0:26Thursday morning. Kim's getting ready.
- 0:31Today is our day off, but we are going to take a Canyon tour.
- 0:36So there will be a handful of us getting on, getting on a coach,
- 0:40and we're going to go see the Canyon, I guess kind of a
- 0:45miniature Grand Canyon here in Yellowstone.
- 0:50Yesterday was fantastic. I need a lot.
- 0:52I need all of you to respond right here, man.
- 0:55I'll tell you what, you know, I guess I've been, I've been like
- 0:59a horse with blinders on. I had no idea that Yellowstone
- 1:04sat on top of Volcano. I just did.
- 1:07Hey, sometimes you just know no things.
- 1:10I told everybody that on social media, you know, put some
- 1:14pictures out last night and everybody's treating me like a
- 1:17baby. What do you mean you didn't know
- 1:19it sat on top of Volcano? Do you know that if that
- 1:22Yellowstone volcano goes off, we all going to die?
- 1:27I'm like, damn, I don't like hearing that.
- 1:31But no, I had no idea that. Basically the way I put it, in
- 1:37redneck terms, since we're all NASCAR rednecks now, Yellowstone
- 1:45is constantly farting. Old Faithful, the old geyser it
- 1:49goes off every 80 minutes and he goes then you go everywhere else
- 1:56is maybe that's maybe that's why it won't totally pop off or
- 2:03praise the Lord it don't it don't pop off.
- 2:08Maybe just farting all the time. No need to pop off no need for a
- 2:11volcano because it just constantly farting.
- 2:16That's the way my mind thinks. OK, changing subjects, you know,
- 2:27Johnny Gibson, that works for World of Outlaw Racing.
- 2:31He's got, he's a great announcer.
- 2:34And when you go local dirt racing, you don't say on the
- 2:38pole, 'cause, you know, for years we said that, you know, I
- 2:42guess on the pole. Now respond right here on the
- 2:45pole, Man, a horse was running the pole.
- 2:49Is that what I heard? I don't know.
- 2:51Respond right here. Tell me so you know you'd sit
- 2:56well now I want to say it. Johnny Gibson with the World of
- 2:59Outlaws, he would say QuickTime and then like 1010 drivers later
- 3:07another driver would say QuickTime and go QuickTime and
- 3:11kind of had squeaky voice. But when I went NASCAR or I was
- 3:17in ASA, it was always man, we're on the pole.
- 3:21And people would say to me that didn't know a lot about race.
- 3:24And they say, what does that hurt?
- 3:26Being on a pole made me laugh. So anyway, yesterday, on
- 3:37Wednesday night, we locked in two cars on the front row for
- 3:41the Daytona 500. And QuickTime goes Kyle Busch in
- 3:48the number 8 car. How about that?
- 3:51You know, you want to say to yourself, oh, well, that's good
- 3:54because he's been struggling. You know, that's a story right
- 3:59there. Why is it that Americans, it's
- 4:03changed in my opinion, they all say all America loves a winner.
- 4:09I'm like, I I think that's changed because in NASCAR, when
- 4:12you win too much, they start booing you.
- 4:15And, and I mean, it's like Jimmie Johnson won all the time,
- 4:18but nobody liked him because he was vanilla Jimmy.
- 4:21Jimmie Johnson, too corporate. So that always shocked me.
- 4:27It's like, I don't get it. What?
- 4:28What do you all want? Oh, you want the perfect person.
- 4:31You want him to win. You want him to be perfect.
- 4:34But what is perfect? So Kyle Busch on the pole, he
- 4:38starts front row for the Daytona 500.
- 4:43And on his outside is Chase Briscoe.
- 4:47Now, this Chase Briscoe is a hell of a story in my book.
- 4:53I just think Chase Briscoe is one of those drivers that snuck
- 4:57up on me. But that Joe Gibbs, you got to
- 5:01give him credit. Well, I'll be damn look right
- 5:04here as I speak. I'm not going to show you.
- 5:06Don't worry there. Oh, well, damn it.
- 5:10They just they just had Kevin Harvick come on Fox News and I
- 5:13missed it. How about Harvick?
- 5:17Harvick. Well, let me just go and start
- 5:21what I wanted to. I saw Jimmy Johnson was lined up
- 5:2428th and he turned 50 years old I think yesterday or today's his
- 5:30birthday. Respond right here.
- 5:32Straighten me out. By the way, that's another thing
- 5:36everybody's been making a big deal out about me saying respond
- 5:39right here. I've been saying respond right
- 5:41here for four years. I just I don't think a lot of
- 5:44you have made it deep enough into the videos.
- 5:48Coffee with Kenny is about all of you responding and and all of
- 5:51us making ourselves smarter. So when did Jimmie Johnson, our
- 5:57seven time champion, when did he turn 50?
- 6:01And that is the second. Oh, let me back up a little bit.
- 6:07Justin Allgar and Corey Heim are the other two that have locked
- 6:12themselves in. So once again we got we got Kyle
- 6:17Busch and Chase Briscoe front row locked in, but the other two
- 6:22drivers that got locked in on speed, Justin Algaer and Corey
- 6:27Heim, now Corey Heim. Now Justin said this is his last
- 6:31year on Kenny conversation. If you go back and watch the
- 6:34Kenny conversation that I had with Justin Algaer, I don't
- 6:40know, 5-6 months ago, Justin said this is his last year, that
- 6:44he's moving back to Springfield, IL to run Hoosier Tower Midwest.
- 6:49His dad, his Mama, you know, Gator and little Mama Gator.
- 6:55Dorothy, she you know, they're, they're getting older.
- 6:58And so it only makes sense for Justin to go back and take over
- 7:03the family business. OK, so that that brings this
- 7:07subject matter up. Jimmie Johnson, 50 years old.
- 7:15How old's Harvick used to be a day a little bit ago where you
- 7:20had all these drivers Retirement 42.
- 7:24And you know, of course, when you, you look at all these
- 7:26drivers, you know, what age do you retire at?
- 7:29Now, listen, I don't care about my age, but I I have a strategy.
- 7:34I'm a philosopher and I'm into psychology.
- 7:37I've always been that way. You got to get people before
- 7:41they get you. So there was a day when
- 7:44everybody would just always ask the the NASCAR drivers when they
- 7:48got in their 40s. It was an ongoing question.
- 7:52When you going to retire? Hey, when you going to retire?
- 7:55Hey, when you going to retire? And then you get to be 50 and
- 7:58that's hey, old man, hey old man.
- 8:00So now I just always say I'm old just, you know, to have fun with
- 8:04people. And I think it was a couple days
- 8:07ago somebody said why you always talk about your age?
- 8:10I said, so you won't just, you know, hey, get done with it,
- 8:17right? The moral story is this, it does
- 8:22surprise me that Jimmie Johnson with all those championships,
- 8:28you know, they, they say when you've done it all, you're
- 8:30retired and you're done. You know, like a Michael Jordan
- 8:35said, oh, I haven't shot a basketball in six years.
- 8:39That's because he's great. There was always a theory that
- 8:43the great ones don't race anymore when they're done.
- 8:48That is not true anymore. You look at Tony Stewart, 3/4
- 8:52time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart has literally won
- 8:55everything and he's still racing and he run in the truck race.
- 8:59What is that tonight or tomorrow night?
- 9:02Respond right here. You look at, you know, Kevin
- 9:07Harvick, we know he's going to he's he's racing right now.
- 9:09I just I got done out running this boy.
- 9:13I think Harvey's going to run a couple truck races with that Ram
- 9:17truck people. So respond right here.
- 9:20Why have the old drivers, why have they kept racing?
- 9:25Have a great Thursday.
