- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: balance life chiropractic. And it's April and we ain't a
- 0:05Speaker 1: fooling How you doing doing good?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Are you? John?
- 0:07Speaker 1: Very very good? This is again I cannot believe that
- 0:10Speaker 1: it's already April. How did that happen?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Like time just starts flying by.
- 0:14Speaker 1: More and more When you get older, like I am,
- 0:16Speaker 1: it gets quicker. So I don't know exactly why. But
- 0:19Speaker 1: I read a story about why that is, and I
- 0:21Speaker 1: don't know. It didn't make any sense to me. Maybe
- 0:23Speaker 1: I was just not comprehending. But today we're going to
- 0:26Speaker 1: talk about kids. Which kids are kind of cool, aren't.
- 0:29Speaker 2: They talk about time going by fast? Yeah, I know
- 0:31Speaker 2: a lot of parents you have to say, like blinking,
- 0:33Speaker 2: they go from a birth to eighteen.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and my daughter's getting married this summer. I remember
- 0:38Speaker 1: when she was born the other day, is what it
- 0:40Speaker 1: seems like? So exciting.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It is exciting.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But there is no age that's too young for chiropractic,
- 0:47Speaker 1: and there's no age too old for chiropractic, So you
- 0:50Speaker 1: can literally be a chiropractic patient even as a newborn.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yeah, we do adjust, I know, Like there's chiropractors out
- 0:58Speaker 2: there that have adjusted their brand baby at like minutes old,
- 1:01Speaker 2: as soon as they're out, they adjusted them. Most times,
- 1:05Speaker 2: it's you know, within a few days or even a
- 1:07Speaker 2: few weeks. Especially when I tell moms, it's like, whenever
- 1:09Speaker 2: you are comfortable and wanting to get out of the
- 1:13Speaker 2: house and ready to get baby.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Checked out, and think about what they've just gone through.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I mean that that's a bit of trauma that will
- 1:22Speaker 1: never go through that same experience again, thank goodness. But
- 1:26Speaker 1: so that I could see why it would make sense
- 1:28Speaker 1: to get an adjustment there.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Right, A lot of people like, wait, why do babies
- 1:30Speaker 2: need an adjustment? What do they have going on? But yeah, exactly.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Birth is very hard on mom. It is also very
- 1:36Speaker 2: hard on those little babies, you know, regardless of how
- 1:39Speaker 2: they're born, if it's you know, kind of the normal birth,
- 1:43Speaker 2: or if it's a C section any other type, it's
- 1:45Speaker 2: still a lot of pressure and forcing put on their
- 1:48Speaker 2: head and their neck. And what's the first thing they
- 1:50Speaker 2: tell you to do when you hold a baby.
- 1:52Speaker 1: For me, They say, don't drop that baby.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I mean that's a good one, yeah, but support their head,
- 1:57Speaker 2: hold their head because their neck can't hold their head
- 1:59Speaker 2: up so it you know, it's even if we have
- 2:01Speaker 2: like assisted bursts with like forceps or vacuums or hands
- 2:03Speaker 2: or anything that that's putting even more twisting and pulling
- 2:06Speaker 2: on their necks. So we can actually get misalignments or
- 2:09Speaker 2: you'll hear me call them sublxations as well at birth
- 2:13Speaker 2: because of all of that force being applied there.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Now there's we spend most of our life after that
- 2:20Speaker 1: phase of our life because that's just at the very beginning.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But we spent you know, eighteen years being a child,
- 2:26Speaker 1: some of us even longer than that. But this this
- 2:29Speaker 1: is a good time for people to make the good
- 2:32Speaker 1: choices in life and the right decisions in life. And
- 2:34Speaker 1: that starts with health as well.
- 2:35Speaker 2: It can start right from birth. You know, if we
- 2:37Speaker 2: can get babies adjusted right away, it's going to help
- 2:41Speaker 2: their nervous system to function at its one percent best
- 2:44Speaker 2: capacity and that's only going to help them with reaching
- 2:48Speaker 2: their developmental goals, you know, every couple of months as
- 2:51Speaker 2: they're growing in to their new body. And you know,
- 2:54Speaker 2: the biggest things we see with babies especially is you know, eating,
- 2:57Speaker 2: if they're collicky or burping or you know, reflux, a lot.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It can really help with that. Or if they're not
- 3:04Speaker 2: sleeping very well, or they're you know, ky he always
- 3:07Speaker 2: waking up cranky, digestion if they haven't been very regular,
- 3:12Speaker 2: or you notice days where they don't go to the
- 3:14Speaker 2: bathroom and then suddenly you have a blowout, you know,
- 3:16Speaker 2: any type stuff like that. You know, those are the
- 3:18Speaker 2: biggest things with babies. You want to helm, eat, sleep
- 3:20Speaker 2: and poop.
- 3:21Speaker 1: There you go, and and that's kind of life in general,
- 3:24Speaker 1: but that's definitely what your baby.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's kind of all they got go before
- 3:28Speaker 2: them and as well as.
- 3:29Speaker 1: They don't have to worry about tax, doesn't other.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Things you know of note like toward a cullis. If
- 3:34Speaker 2: you notice they're always kind of holding their head in
- 3:35Speaker 2: one direction, or they don't want to turn their head,
- 3:38Speaker 2: or maybe they are a little late in some of
- 3:40Speaker 2: those developmental milestones, or they're having a hard time with
- 3:42Speaker 2: like tummy time or something like that. Those can be
- 3:45Speaker 2: indicators of needing an adjustment in their neck because things
- 3:48Speaker 2: aren't moving quite like they should.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And you want that alignment. So your brain is communicating
- 3:54Speaker 1: with the whole body and it's not having any issues
- 3:57Speaker 1: getting there and back because again, that's going to help
- 3:59Speaker 1: in every way you can imagine definitely.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And as they're developing, their cervical, thorastic and lumbar curve
- 4:05Speaker 2: start developing. So that tummy time where they're lifting their
- 4:07Speaker 2: head up, working on that headstrength, that's developing their neck developmentally,
- 4:12Speaker 2: and their curve in their neck. You know, as they're
- 4:14Speaker 2: getting into crawling, that's going to develop that lumbar curve.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So those are all important steps to make sure that
- 4:21Speaker 2: your baby is going through.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So if somebody either has or knows somebody that has
- 4:25Speaker 1: a new baby or an old baby. I don't know
- 4:26Speaker 1: how many old babies there are, but if somebody has
- 4:28Speaker 1: a baby in general, how do they connect with you
