- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Those are just a few examples.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Now, for most authors, it's many books in one major core message.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Now you might say, what about the books that aren't tied to an author's core message?
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Well, most of the time, those books are tied into the core message in one way or another.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Now, what about you?
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: What's your core message?
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: If you can't yet articulate it, that's okay.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: It takes time and writing and a lot of words before you figure it out.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Your core message gets more clear and more authentic the more that you write.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So here's today's challenge.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: As best as you can articulate it, write down your core message as an author.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Then ask three people who know you well to see if they agree.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: A big thanks to today's sponsor, The Word Wizard.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: You may have written a great book, but it's not ready for publication until it's been in the hands of a master editor.

- 2:10SPEAKER_00: A great editor doesn't just correct grammar and spelling, they also correct wordiness, shifts in tone and voice, the overuse of particular words, and they also enhance transitions, clarity, and accuracy.
