- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to another episode of Grace Explained.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Today we're going to talk about rightly dividing the word of truth.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: We discussed the last few weeks about how right division can save us from hell, how right can right division can save us by hope, how right can right division can save us from heresy.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: But today we're going to look at what rightly dividing the word of truth is.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: So if you will look at uh 2 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 15.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: In 2 Timothy 2.15 he says, study thou show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: The Apostle Paul talks to us about rightly dividing the word of truth and how that we need to rightly divide the word of truth.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: So if Paul is telling us that we should rightly divide the word of truth, he's probably going to be the one to show us how to rightly divide the word of truth.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: If you will, um 1 Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 11, in 1 Corinthians 10 11, the Apostle Paul understands that the whole Bible is the Word of God, and the whole Bible is important for us, and it's important for us for our faith.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: And he says in 1 Corinthians 10 and verse 11, he goes, Now all these things happen unto them for examples that it that they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So the things that are written before the Apostle Paul, the things that are written in the scriptures are very important.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: They're written as examples and they're written for admonition.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: They're written for us to learn by, they're written for us to understand by.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: See, the reason God gave up the Gentiles is because the Gentiles were ungodly.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: And who was the Gentiles?
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: It was the whole world.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: And out of all the world, all the people on the earth, all the people that were that were doing whatever they wanted to do, do everything that they wanted to do against God, God said, I'm giving them up, and I'm gonna call out one person, Abram.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: And Abram, who becomes Abraham, I'm going to make a great nation out of him, and I'm going to work through that nation, and that nation is going to be my people, and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to have through his seed the nation of Israel, which is whom I will work through.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: And again, they're going to be a great nation.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And so he gives up the rest of the world and he calls out Abraham.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: If you look back in Genesis chapter 12, Genesis chapter 12 and verse 1 and 2, he says, Now the Lord hath said unto Abraham, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee, and I will make thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and I will make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: So what he's saying to him is, guess what?
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: I'm going to, out of the nation, out of you, Abraham, I'm going to make out of you a great nation.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: And you're going to be a blessing.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: They're going to be a blessing.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: But the problem was, and why is this?
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: It's because he gave up the Gentiles because of their ungodliness.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: And so all the promises that he gave to the nation of Israel, all the blessings he gave to the nation of Israel, all the hopes and covenants and everything that he has with the nation of Israel, the Gentiles don't have.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: They don't have it in times past.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: They don't have it back then.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: It's not given to them because God gave them up.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: But then he says in Ephesians 2.13, but now.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: See, there's a change.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: I mean that word, you have that word, but there's going to be a change.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: If you have somebody say, hey, hey, you're doing great, but you know, you hate to hear that, oh, well, you're doing great, but, well, that means there's you're you're getting ready to tell me something that's not great.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Well, this is exactly what happened.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: He says, but now there's a change.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Now, not in the past.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: In the past you were given up.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: In the past you didn't have anything.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: But now, in Christ Jesus, ye who sometimes were far off and are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: You see, now, as Gentiles, you're made close.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: That word nigh means close, near.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: You're made close.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Now, the people that I gave up, the people that I gave up thousands of years ago, now you're close.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Now I have a purpose for you.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Now there's a reason.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: And now I need you.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: And why is that?
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Well, the same reason that God gave up the Gentiles is pretty much the same reason that the Gentiles are made close.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Because now He's going to give up on the nation of Israel.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: He gave up the Gentiles and brought in Israel.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Israel didn't want to choose their God.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Israel didn't believe Jesus was the Christ, was the Messiah.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: They didn't believe that He was God, manifest in the flesh.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: They had him hung on a cross and killed.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And now God says, I'm giving up on the on the nation of Israel.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And instead of there being two separate groups, the Gentiles down here and Israel up here, I'm just going to give up on the nation of Israel, and they're just going to be brought down where the Gentiles are.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: And now I'm just, I'm have, I have you all on the same level.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: You're all on the same playing field.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: One is not higher than the other.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: And why did this happen?
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: Romans chapter 11.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Look at Romans chapter 11 and verse 11.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Romans chapter 11 and verse 11, he says, I say then, have they, he's talking about Israel, have they stumbled that they should fall?
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: God forbid, but rather through their fall, salvation has come unto the Gentiles.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: For to provoke them to jealousy.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: You see, I used, I was told my ministry was not to the Gentiles, but to the to the nation of Israel.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: My ministry, I told the disciples and the apostles not to go to the Gentiles, but only go to the nation of Israel.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Well, guess what?
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Now I'm going to bring my message, my gospel to the Gentiles.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: To provoke Israel to jealousy so that Israel will say, What is it that we need to believe?
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: What is it that we need?
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Look at verse 12, Romans 11, 12.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Now if they now if the the fall of them be the riches of the world, so he talks about them falling.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: You've got to remember, God forbid, but rather through their fall, salvation is coming to the Gentiles up in verse 11.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: So the nation of Israel has fallen in God's eyes, spiritually.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Now, if the fall of them be the riches of the world, guess what?
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Because now the nation of Israel has fallen and God sees us all on the same plane level, he sees us all on the same playing field, he sees us all leveled in the same spot, he says, now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them be the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fullness?
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Guess what?
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Because of their fall, the Gentiles can now receive blessings.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: The Gentiles can now receive the things that God was doing for them.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: The Gentiles can now receive salvation.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: For I speak to this is a very important verse, Romans 11, 13.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: For I speak to you, Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: I magnify mine office.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Real quick, he doesn't say he magnifies himself, he magnifies the position of the apostle of the Gentiles.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: So who is the apostle of the Gentiles?
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: I'm a Gentile.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Who's my apostle?
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: The Apostle Paul.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: If I was a Jew today, guess what?
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: I have fallen.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: The nation of Israel spiritually has fallen, and they're on the same level as the Gentiles.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Guess what?
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: I'm considered a Gentile.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: So even as a Jew, who's my apostle today?
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: The Apostle Paul.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: The Apostle Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: And the nation of Israel has been brought down to the level of the Gentiles, and now they're the same.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: God sees them as the same as the Gentiles.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: He doesn't see them as this great nation.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Look at Acts chapter 13 and verse 46.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: There's three, just as we saw three different times, God gave up the Gentiles in Romans chapter 1, 24, Romans chapter 1 and verse 26, and Romans 1.28.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Well, we're going to see three areas in the book of Acts where God tells Paul, the hey, you're going to the Gentiles.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Forget about the nation of Israel, you're going to the Gentiles.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: And there's something about it, it happens three times.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Acts 13 and verse 46, then Paul and Barnabas wax bold, hear the preaching, and they're getting ridiculed, and they're getting people arguing with them, and they're and they're people not understanding.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: And people wanting to kill him, I mean just people wanting to throw him in prison, all these things.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: He says, and they waxed bold and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: But seeing ye put it from you, again, he's talking to the Israelites here, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: You see, he says, You guys don't want eternal life.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: You guys killed the Messiah, you killed the Son of God, you killed God manifest in the flesh as the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: I'm offering you and telling you how that through his death you can have eternal life.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: You don't want to hear it, you want to kill us, and guess what?
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: We're going to forget about preaching to you now, and lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: We're going to focus on the Gentiles.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Look at Acts chapter 18 and verse 6.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Acts chapter 18 and verse 6.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: And when they opposed themselves and blasphemed, he shook his raiment.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: So again, Paul's preaching to the to the Jews in another city.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: And he says, Listen, you guys, you don't want to hear it.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: You're even blaspheming God, and the things you're saying are blasphemous.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: And he shook his raiment at them, and he said unto them, Your blood be on your own hands.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: I am clean.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: Henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Because you don't want to hear it.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: You're my brethren.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: He was Paul, Paul was a Jew.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: And he goes, I'm trying to tell you how to have eternal life, and you're mocking me, you're blaspheming God.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: I can't do anything for you.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: You don't want to listen to the message.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I'm going to the Gentiles.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: And then look at Acts chapter 28 and verse 28.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Be it known therefore unto you that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles and they will hear it.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: You know why Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles?
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: It's because the nation of Israel didn't want to hear it.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: You know why Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles?
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Because the nation of Israel is the same level as the Gentiles.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: They're all one level.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: So in times past, the Gentiles had no hope, they had no promises, they had nothing with God.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: But now they're made close, they're made near by the blood of Christ.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: And now, because of Israel's fall, salvation is coming to the Gentiles.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Now, because of Israel's fall, they're on the same level as the Gentiles.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: And now, instead of there being twelve apostles for twelve tribes of Israel, there's one apostle for the world, which are considered the Gentiles.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: And that's the apostle Paul.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Why do I spend so much time in Romans to Philemon?
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: Because those are the books that Paul wrote.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: That's why.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Look back at Ephesians 2 7, he goes, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace and his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: If you look in Ephesians 1, God has a purpose in heaven and earth.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And that the passage, you know, a lot of people are very focused on the end times and the tribulation and the rapture and and and the millennial and all the things that are that are that are going to happen.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: And they're focusing on Hebrews to revel to revelation.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: And those are all prophetic books written about events that are going to happen in the future.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: That's the ages to come.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: But there's something very important that's a mystery about the ages to come that we're a part of.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: And he says in Ephesians chapter 1, verse 9, having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are in earth, even in him.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: I'll just tell you, I'll tell you the end of it right now.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: The end is that the nation of Israel is inheriting the earth.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: The nation of Israel is inheriting land.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: Because God promised it to them.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: And God's going to give the nation of Israel that land.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: God's going to give the nation of Israel his purpose on the earth.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: There is a purpose on this earth with God.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: He's going to have Israel run it, he's going to have Israel rule it, and it's because he said, I'm going to set up my kingdom on this earth, and they're going to be a part of his kingdom.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: But in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Guess what?
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: There's a ruling and reigning in the heaven.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: And you know who's going to rule and reign in the heaven?
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: We are.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: As members of the body of Christ, the Gentiles, the people that Paul has been speaking to, those Gentiles are going to, as members of the body of Christ, are going to rule and reign in the heavenly places.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: And because he's got the earth and the and the and the ruling and reigning of the earth through the nation of Israel here, and he has the ruling and reigning of the heavenly places through the body of Christ, us, and the heavenly places, and it's all done because of who?
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Because of Christ.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: Christ is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Christ is going to rule and reign on the throne on the earth with Israel, and and we're going to rule and reign in the heavens with Christ as our head.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Because Christ is the head of the body.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: And that's going to happen in the ages to come.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: So there, in a very quick way, is how the Bible is broken down in the past, present, and future.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: And that is what is called dispensational Bible teaching or study, or what we call rightly dividing the word of truth.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: If you never trusted Christ as your Savior, remember that Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: And if you believe in that and that alone, you'll have the free gift of eternal life.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: If you'd like to write us, you can write us at GraceExplained at gmail.com.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Until next time.
