- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Real Talk with Mike D. Alright, welcome back
- 0:07Speaker 1: to Real Talk with Mike D. I am the one,
- 0:09Speaker 1: the only, and the original Mike D. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:14Speaker 1: I have a good one for you today. I am
- 0:18Speaker 1: going to share something with you that I have never
- 0:20Speaker 1: shared with anybody in my entire life. And I have
- 0:25Speaker 1: to know, are you prepared for what you are about
- 0:30Speaker 1: to hear. I can't hear you. Are you prepared? Ladies
- 0:38Speaker 1: and gentlemen, I, Mike D, want to be rich and famous.
- 0:45Speaker 1: There you have it. I said it. I want to
- 0:50Speaker 1: be rich and famous. I want the money. I want
- 0:54Speaker 1: the recognition. I want people to know my name. And
- 0:57Speaker 1: you know what? I am not ashamed of that at all.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Because I think sometimes we're taught that wanting money or
- 1:04Speaker 1: wanting fame automatically makes you shallow, selfish or materialistic. But
- 1:10Speaker 1: I don't think it's that simple. Because sometimes when somebody says,
- 1:14Speaker 1: I want to be rich, what they're really saying is,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I'm tired of struggling. And when somebody says, I want
- 1:21Speaker 1: to be famous, sometimes what they're really saying is, I
- 1:26Speaker 1: want somebody to finally hear me. And that is exactly
- 1:30Speaker 1: where I'm coming from. Now, let's start with the money.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I want to be rich because I know what it
- 1:38Speaker 1: feels like to worry about money. I know what it
- 1:41Speaker 1: feels like to look at your bills and wonder how
- 1:43Speaker 1: everything is going to get paid. And I know what
- 1:46Speaker 1: it feels like when your paycheck comes in and before
- 1:48Speaker 1: you even get comfortable seeing that money in your account,
- 1:52Speaker 1: it's already spoken for. Could be gas, credit cards, Or
- 1:57Speaker 1: maybe an unexpected expense. Something always seems to come up.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Sometimes you're not trying to live some extravagant lifestyle. You're
- 2:07Speaker 1: just trying to breathe. That is the difference. I don't
- 2:13Speaker 1: necessarily dream about having a million dollar house just so
- 2:16Speaker 1: I can tell everybody. I have a million dollar house.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I dream about having enough money that an unexpected $ 500
- 2:23Speaker 1: expense doesn't ruin my entire month. I want financial freedom.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I want security and I want the ability to help
- 2:31Speaker 1: my family without having to destroy myself financially to do it.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I want to be able to say, don't worry about it.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I got it. That's what money represents to me. Freedom, options,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but most importantly, it represents peace of mind. Now, let's
- 2:53Speaker 1: talk about fame. Fame is a completely different animal because
- 2:58Speaker 1: some people hear the word famous and immediately think red carpets, Lamborghinis,
- 3:03Speaker 1: mansion cameras, people screaming your name. And yeah, I'm not
- 3:07Speaker 1: going to lie, that sounds pretty damn cool. But that's
- 3:12Speaker 1: not the whole reason I want it. I want people
- 3:15Speaker 1: to know real talk with Mike D. I want someone
- 3:19Speaker 1: to hear my voice and say, that guy gets it.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I want somebody sitting alone in their car after a
- 3:26Speaker 1: horrible day to turn on this podcast and feel like
- 3:28Speaker 1: somebody understands what they're going through. I want somebody who
- 3:33Speaker 1: is struggling to hear me say, you're not the only one.
- 3:38Speaker 1: That's what being known means to me. Not just having
- 3:42Speaker 1: people recognize my face, having people recognize my message. Because
- 3:50Speaker 1: here's the thing, everybody has a story. Some stories are glamorous.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Some aren't. Some people grow up with everything and other
- 3:59Speaker 1: people had to fight for everything they have. Sometimes you
- 4:04Speaker 1: can go through years of your life wondering, does any
- 4:07Speaker 1: of this even matter? The struggles, the mistakes, the disappointments,
- 4:12Speaker 1: the times you felt like giving up, the people who
- 4:14Speaker 1: walked away, the people who didn't believe in you. times
- 4:21Speaker 1: you looked in the mirror and didn't recognize the person
- 4:24Speaker 1: looking back at you. Maybe all of that can eventually
- 4:27Speaker 1: become something. Maybe the things that hurt us can become
- 4:31Speaker 1: the things that help somebody else. That is what I
- 4:35Speaker 1: want this podcast to be. A place where I can
- 4:39Speaker 1: take the good, the bad, the ugly, the embarrassing, and
- 4:42Speaker 1: the painful, and the funny parts of my life and
- 4:46Speaker 1: turn them into something meaningful. You know what? I'm going
- 4:51Speaker 1: to be completely honest with you. Part of wanting to
- 4:55Speaker 1: be successful comes from wanting to prove something. Not necessarily
- 5:00Speaker 1: to the people who doubted me. Although, yeah, there's probably
- 5:06Speaker 1: a little bit of that in there as well. But
- 5:09Speaker 1: more than anything, I want to prove something to myself.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I want to prove that I can still dream. I
- 5:17Speaker 1: want to prove that I can still build something. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: want to prove that age doesn't automatically mean your best
- 5:23Speaker 1: days are behind you. Because sometimes society tells you that
- 5:28Speaker 1: once you reach a certain age, you're supposed to settle down.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You're supposed to stop dreaming, stop taking chances, stop chasing
- 5:38Speaker 1: something bigger, just go to work, pay your bills, go home,
- 5:42Speaker 1: go to sleep, and repeat. And I'm sorry, but I
- 5:47Speaker 1: am not ready to accept that. I still have dreams.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I still have things I want to accomplish. I still
- 5:55Speaker 1: have things I want to sing. And I still believe
- 5:59Speaker 1: there's much more ahead of me. Well, ladies and gentlemen,
- 6:04Speaker 1: that is going to do it for today's episode. If
- 6:10Speaker 1: any of you out there have a dream, want to
- 6:14Speaker 1: do something big, what's stopping you? Go for it. What
- 6:21Speaker 1: do you have to lose? I'm doing this because I
- 6:26Speaker 1: love it. Yes, I want to be rich and I
- 6:30Speaker 1: want to be famous. And yes, I want to be heard.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And yes, I want my voice to be recognized. But
- 6:41Speaker 1: I also want to help people. I want people to
- 6:44Speaker 1: know they are not alone. And there's someone out there
- 6:49Speaker 1: has gone through, or is going through, exactly what they are.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But anyhow, if you like this episode, please leave a comment, like,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and subscribe. And as always, I will see you all
- 7:09Speaker 1: on the next episode. Peace! Thank you.
