- 0:54Speaker 2: Kevin McCullough.
- 0:55Speaker 3: All right, welcome, it's Tuesday. It is time for Radio
- 0:59Speaker 3: Night Live. That means she's Linda Parillo, I'm Kevin McCullough,
- 1:03Speaker 3: and here we are talking travel all things related to it.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And uh, I should say the cover girl for stock
- 1:10Speaker 3: photoshoot Weekend. Yeah, you didn't tell me anything, But first
- 1:15Speaker 3: she didn't tell me you had columns coming out in
- 1:18Speaker 3: the papers. Second, you didn't tell me about the book signings.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Now you're not telling me about your photos. Are you
- 1:22Speaker 3: just trying to exclude me from everything you're doing? And
- 1:25Speaker 3: so I can't promote it for you.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's like a bad marriage, right.
- 1:31Speaker 3: With me? You don't tell me what you're doing. It's
- 1:35Speaker 3: crazy anyway. So what was with the photo shoot? What
- 1:38Speaker 3: was that? What was that? Was that a connection to
- 1:40Speaker 3: the article or what?
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yeah, the one from Stroll magazine. Yeah, so I was
- 1:45Speaker 4: on the cover of Stroll magazine and the disaster that
- 1:47Speaker 4: will ran.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Around twenty two. I might add like eight kids, my hey, kids,
- 1:52Speaker 3: that's funny.
- 1:54Speaker 2: That's how I'm supposed to look like a kids, you
- 1:56Speaker 2: know what.
- 1:57Speaker 4: But the story is there was a mix up with
- 2:00Speaker 4: the pictures did not come out great, and I'm like
- 2:03Speaker 4: a freak because I never looked good in pictures. So
- 2:08Speaker 4: we didn't like the pictures. Christine agreed with me. We
- 2:10Speaker 4: didn't like there was not a lot of Am.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I going to start to phrase a lot on this show?
- 2:14Speaker 4: Well Christine's oh yeah, yes, well Christine's But the point
- 2:19Speaker 4: I'm making is that they said, no, you can't edit them.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I said, what, what do you mean we can't edit.
- 2:25Speaker 2: There's no photoshop. This is a magazine in twenty twenty six.
- 2:28Speaker 4: So the long and short of it is, nobody told
- 2:31Speaker 4: me the photographer was a freelancer, right, so I had
- 2:34Speaker 4: to buy the pictures from him, and then I could
- 2:39Speaker 4: have edited them the way I wanted and sent them
- 2:42Speaker 4: off to the magazine. This was a total thing. We
- 2:46Speaker 4: didn't even know any of this. So what did lind
- 2:48Speaker 4: to do. I bought like three pictures that I could
- 2:51Speaker 4: edit pretty well, and I put them on the Facebook
- 2:54Speaker 4: post and I made it look like it was all, oh,
- 2:56Speaker 4: it was good.
- 2:57Speaker 3: No, it looked really good. I was like, he gets.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Smart, Yeah, he gets start to get smart.
- 3:04Speaker 3: You got to get up early to get around Linda.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I mean, you do je mom of eight, because that's
- 3:08Speaker 3: just that's your your out match right now.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You're always thinking he always met any mom amy too,
- 3:13Speaker 2: Like you're always.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Thinking on your feet. How am I going to troubleshoot
- 3:16Speaker 4: this and fix this? It's like, okay, give me a
- 3:18Speaker 4: hot second.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I will tell you got it. We got It'll tell you.
- 3:22Speaker 3: She is not very pleased with with what's it called
- 3:25Speaker 3: face tune? Is that what they do now?
- 3:27Speaker 4: They face tune, Well, I'm stupid, so it's the only
- 3:31Speaker 4: thing I know how to use.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Really, two times in the last year we've had mutual
- 3:37Speaker 3: friends that have taken a picture of her and when
- 3:40Speaker 3: they published or sent that picture to other people, it
- 3:45Speaker 3: had been face tuned. And she is very sensitive about changing,
- 3:50Speaker 3: like she works very hard to look at the way
- 3:52Speaker 3: she looks right, and so she doesn't want people changing things.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But but two times in the last year, people that
- 3:59Speaker 3: took pictures of her did that. She's like, if you're
- 4:03Speaker 3: going to do it, at least tell me you're going
- 4:05Speaker 3: to do it, don't you at least it?
- 4:06Speaker 4: And then you know two schools of thought there, Kevin,
- 4:10Speaker 4: face tune, if someone else is in the picture with you,
- 4:12Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 4:13Speaker 2: How to.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Had ostracize somebody in the picture or just myself and
- 4:20Speaker 4: isolate myself and just fix me. I don't know how
- 4:22Speaker 4: to do that. So everyone else ends up ends up
- 4:25Speaker 4: saying the same thing. They're like, you face tuned me too.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Pat says it all the time.
- 4:29Speaker 4: He goes, I'm a guy, I need to look like
- 4:32Speaker 4: I'm face tune. I'm like, I know, but I had
- 4:35Speaker 4: to do it for me, So you had to take
- 4:36Speaker 4: the hit for the team.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:39Speaker 3: On Mother's Day, part of the day traditionally we always
- 4:45Speaker 3: do this is try to take some family pictures because
- 4:48Speaker 3: everybody gets dressed up. And I took us to a
- 4:53Speaker 3: new location this year, place that I had thought about
- 4:56Speaker 3: taking photos for a long time but had never done it,
- 4:58Speaker 3: and she was kind of tired to the old place.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I said, hey, let's go try this new spot. So
- 5:04Speaker 3: we did and they turned out phenomenal, which was fantastic.
- 5:09Speaker 3: She wore this like blue color that looked really stood
- 5:12Speaker 3: off against the green of the surroundings and so forth,
- 5:16Speaker 3: and it just it ended up looking really really well.
- 5:19Speaker 3: But we got into this whole discussion about you know,
- 5:23Speaker 3: editing and so forth, and she's just not she's just
- 5:26Speaker 3: not a fan of the post edit. She wants she
- 5:29Speaker 3: wants everything to look proper and right, and I think
- 5:32Speaker 3: it's but she has told me from a long long
- 5:35Speaker 3: time there are rules about family photos, and the family
- 5:38Speaker 3: photo rules, according to her, kind of go like this.
- 5:42Speaker 3: The mom should look like the center of the photo,
- 5:46Speaker 3: and everything in the photo should be built around the mom.
- 5:50Speaker 3: So the kids the day, everybody kind of like they
- 5:53Speaker 3: are they are the peripheral. You know, they're not unimportant
- 5:58Speaker 3: to the picture, but you work on getting making the
- 6:00Speaker 3: mom look good when you're posing and setting up the
- 6:02Speaker 3: shot and everything else. Make sure the mom looks good first,
- 6:05Speaker 3: and then pose everybody around her. And she doesn't do
- 6:09Speaker 3: that because she's vain. She does that because evidently that's
- 6:13Speaker 3: like what the royal family and other people have done
- 6:15Speaker 3: through generations of photographic practice. So if you think about
- 6:21Speaker 3: those really goofy like and everybody's seen them, like on
- 6:25Speaker 3: Facebook or Instagram where they say, you know, horrible family
- 6:29Speaker 3: pictures from the sixties and seventies, and there's like a
- 6:31Speaker 3: whole batch of them. It's always the mom looking schlumpy
- 6:35Speaker 3: or off to the side or something that makes the
- 6:38Speaker 3: picture look so bad. So she's like, see, if you
- 6:41Speaker 3: made the mom look good, here the whole compositive picture changes.
- 6:45Speaker 3: So I think that's a good practice. And I'm not
- 6:48Speaker 3: too much of a man to say, you know, hey, no,
- 6:50Speaker 3: we can't do that. You can't be vain. Moms have
- 6:54Speaker 3: the kids they kick They carry him around for nine
- 6:57Speaker 3: months each they kick him out of their bodies. They
- 6:59Speaker 3: put up with all all the sleepless nights and all
- 7:02Speaker 3: the feedings and everything early on. It's right they've earned
- 7:05Speaker 3: the right to be the queen of their own family photo.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I agree with you, Kevin. I'm all about it.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna let my kids know that today we're going
- 7:14Speaker 4: to have a family meeting about the next set of
- 7:16Speaker 4: family Well.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so anyway, but I thought, I thought just the
- 7:22Speaker 3: solo pictures of you looked really good. And if people
- 7:25Speaker 3: haven't seen them and they want to go see them,
- 7:26Speaker 3: what's your Facebook?
- 7:27Speaker 2: It's just Linda Perillo Colinda on Facebook.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we're because Instagram is really where the kids are
- 7:33Speaker 3: at now. Actually, the kids are all on TikTok. I
- 7:35Speaker 3: don't know who's on Instagram, but there's a lot of
- 7:37Speaker 3: people on.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Instagrama Linda Perillo. Yeah, and I got to fix that,
- 7:41Speaker 4: damn TikTok. I am so not video. I just I
- 7:44Speaker 4: don't know what I'm doing. It's you know, you got
- 7:47Speaker 4: to find the nine year old say okay, mom here.
- 7:49Speaker 2: In thirteen seconds. It's like you did that, yeah, mom,
- 7:54Speaker 2: thirteen seconds.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Like Devin says to me, stop with the long cuts.
- 7:58Speaker 4: He calls them the long cut because there are short
- 8:01Speaker 4: gods to seas like you're always using the long.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Does he mean that the video itself is too long?
- 8:08Speaker 2: No, everything I do on my phone and this bring
- 8:12Speaker 2: just takes my phone. Just give me the phone. I'm
- 8:14Speaker 2: sorry you got her.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So the thing about this, like, I've been researching the difference,
- 8:20Speaker 3: So I've looked up, you know, plausible, workable theories for
- 8:25Speaker 3: the purposes of the different social media audiences and how
- 8:29Speaker 3: the audiences react differently and do things which I'd never
- 8:33Speaker 3: thought about, every one of them being a separate audience.
- 8:35Speaker 3: And like, I just think, if you if you follow me,
- 8:37Speaker 3: you just follow me. But if you follow me on TikTok,
- 8:41Speaker 3: you probably have a different level of patients for the
- 8:43Speaker 3: length of the cut and everything else. So I'm friending
- 8:45Speaker 3: it better at all that. But when I when I
- 8:51Speaker 3: asked the Google about what the best practice was, it
- 8:53Speaker 3: was yeah, short videos five to ten seconds. Yeah, I'm like,
- 8:57Speaker 3: oh my.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Gosh, because that's all any what he's freaking attention span
- 9:01Speaker 4: is of this generation.
- 9:03Speaker 3: To a syndicated talk radio host and talks for three
- 9:06Speaker 3: hours a day.
- 9:07Speaker 2: This is right, very at it, very different, very different.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, coming up, we're gonna talk travel. The
- 9:13Speaker 3: hantavirus is making news everywhere mom's everywhere are all freaked
- 9:17Speaker 3: out about it. We're gonna talk about that, there's a
- 9:19Speaker 3: new way to get around New York City that has
- 9:22Speaker 3: literally taken off in the last few days. Just a
- 9:25Speaker 3: little hint there. And there's some other fun things that
- 9:29Speaker 3: we're going to work in tonight, including airfares that may
- 9:31Speaker 3: be as low as thirty eight dollars that Linda will
- 9:34Speaker 3: tell you about, and our Perilla's pointers before we're done.
- 9:37Speaker 3: But all that coming up. If you miss any of it,
- 9:39Speaker 3: get the podcast. It's real simple. Just go online to
- 9:42Speaker 3: that kevinshow dot com and under the section of bonus
- 9:45Speaker 3: ceial you get to the travel Tuesday section. She's Lynda.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I'm Kevin, and we're coming right back.
- 9:56Speaker 2: What a little moonline can do. It's Radio Night Live,
- 10:00Speaker 2: Kevin recolor.
- 10:02Speaker 3: A little more welcome back. It's Traveled Tuesday. She's Linda.
- 10:06Speaker 3: She's Kevin, I'm Linda. That's that's the way it works. No,
- 10:09Speaker 3: it's been a long day, had lots of meetings today.
- 10:12Speaker 3: The president of the company, David Centrella, called all the
- 10:15Speaker 3: syndicated guys in his office, so I don't know, you know,
- 10:18Speaker 3: it's very serious stuff. Anyway, Speaking of serious, like, so
- 10:24Speaker 3: it's in the news for like two weeks and nobody
- 10:25Speaker 3: pays attention to it. And then all of a sudden,
- 10:28Speaker 3: this last weekend, my bride pulled herself away from the
- 10:31Speaker 3: food and fashion portion of the internets to see some
- 10:35Speaker 3: headlines about this thing called hantavirus, and she started asking
- 10:38Speaker 3: me like, every five minutes do you think this is
- 10:41Speaker 3: going to be bad? What do you think it's going
- 10:42Speaker 3: to be? How bad is it going to be? Is
- 10:43Speaker 3: it going to be like COVID to go through stuff again?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Shut stuff down? At what's going to happen to d
- 10:48Speaker 3: And she started reading and then she'd asked me when
- 10:50Speaker 3: she'd find some new facts. She'd asked me about that
- 10:52Speaker 3: fact that I'd be like, I don't know. I didn't
- 10:53Speaker 3: know anything before when you asked me five minutes ago,
- 10:55Speaker 3: so I don't know anything. So it's like that was
- 10:58Speaker 3: that was literally much of the weekend was what do
- 11:01Speaker 3: you think about han hantavirus? And she this is one
- 11:06Speaker 3: of the reasons, Linda, she will never never, never, never, never.
- 11:13Speaker 3: She went on one since we've been married, and that
- 11:16Speaker 3: was that was she had her filled. That was it.
- 11:18Speaker 3: That was good. She need to do it. Ever again.
- 11:20Speaker 3: But yeah, cruises freak her out because she says, practically
- 11:25Speaker 3: on every cruise there's some form of neuro virus that's
- 11:27Speaker 3: already there, because the way neuro virus is made is
- 11:30Speaker 3: just you know, fecal and food, and at some point
- 11:33Speaker 3: in time, if you're in a if you're in a
- 11:35Speaker 3: floating box and that stuff's all contained contained in the box,
- 11:39Speaker 3: then at some point you know something's going to come
- 11:41Speaker 3: into contact with something. So that freaks her out to
- 11:43Speaker 3: begin with. But then with COVID and now with hanta,
- 11:47Speaker 3: you have this, uh, these breakouts of these super weird viruses.
- 11:51Speaker 3: So what's your take on it? You do a lot
- 11:53Speaker 3: of travel, you're also a mom. You care for this stuff.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Hantavirus quotes.
- 11:58Speaker 4: So you know who died of hand of virus, right,
- 12:01Speaker 4: Gene Hackman's wife.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Remember that's when I suicide.
- 12:06Speaker 4: No, this is when I first heard of hantavirus. She
- 12:10Speaker 4: had been looking up on Google all her symptoms and
- 12:15Speaker 4: they did No, they were not murdered. She died of
- 12:19Speaker 4: hantavirus on her own.
- 12:22Speaker 2: In the house.
- 12:22Speaker 4: She tried to self medicate, and then he died because
- 12:27Speaker 4: he had Alzheimer's and didn't have her to take care
- 12:29Speaker 4: of it.
- 12:29Speaker 3: He died of car and around them together.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's it. But they different clothes of death.
- 12:35Speaker 4: So it is a disease carried by rodent feces. Okay,
- 12:40Speaker 4: this is the first time I heard of it was
- 12:41Speaker 4: when she died.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Tell y'all.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yeah, So you know, listen, Kevin, I've been on this
- 12:47Speaker 4: earth almost fifty nine years, and I think it's quite
- 12:49Speaker 4: a good thing that this is the first time I'm
- 12:51Speaker 4: hearing about handa virus. So anybody that has been interviewed
- 12:55Speaker 4: about hand the virus and the ship because we'll get
- 12:57Speaker 4: to that in a second, has said any of these
- 12:59Speaker 4: diseases specialist has said.
- 13:01Speaker 2: There is not going to be a pandemic.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Why because it does not transfer from human to human
- 13:10Speaker 4: very easily.
- 13:12Speaker 2: It's not like a COVID. It's as transfer.
- 13:17Speaker 4: So I think you have to come in actual contact
- 13:20Speaker 4: with the feces. Now here's another thing. We live in
- 13:23Speaker 4: northern New Jersey. I've lived in the woods of Saddle River.
- 13:26Speaker 4: I live in the woods here in Madison. We've had mice.
- 13:29Speaker 4: We've had mice in the house knock Wood. We're still alive.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Nobody's sick. I think my personal opinion is first of all,
- 13:38Speaker 4: when when they find something like this, a disease like
- 13:41Speaker 4: this that gets people sick and people die, right, it
- 13:46Speaker 4: becomes a focal point for a story, and they're going
- 13:49Speaker 4: to carry this story as far as they can probably,
- 13:52Speaker 4: this is my guest.
- 13:53Speaker 2: And then it will.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Evaporate like everything else evaporated, like COVID, Like you know,
- 13:58Speaker 4: I mean COVID became a pandemic.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I get it. This will not be a pandemic.
- 14:03Speaker 4: So, second of all, yes, do you take a risk
- 14:06Speaker 4: when you're going on a cruise ship. We know this neurovirus,
- 14:10Speaker 4: like you said, is omnipresent. It's there, Okay, So they
- 14:14Speaker 4: do make you follow certain protocol.
- 14:16Speaker 2: They do make you wash your hands constantly.
- 14:18Speaker 4: There's there's all kinds of hand sanitizers across the ship.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And yes, is it a chance that you take when
- 14:24Speaker 4: you go on a cruise ship. Yes, but there's a
- 14:27Speaker 4: chance that you take every single day going out into public.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Are there certain circumstances like being like people will say, well,
- 14:36Speaker 4: I'm on a cruise ship, right, I'm enclosed quarters.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Right, Technically you're a squarium, a floating aquer.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Youre are in a floating aquarium. You're right, so, I
- 14:46Speaker 4: mean you do have to keep that in mind. But
- 14:48Speaker 4: I've been on so many cruises. I got sick once
- 14:51Speaker 4: once in how many years, how many cruises, So I
- 14:55Speaker 4: don't think that's going to negate my next opportunity to
- 14:59Speaker 4: go on a cru And should we be aware, yes,
- 15:03Speaker 4: we should be aware. But there are viruses all over
- 15:05Speaker 4: the place, Kevin, that are that we don't.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Even know have about deng gay fever. How about all
- 15:10Speaker 2: these things that in Africa. The other thing is, let
- 15:13Speaker 2: me ask you a question.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I would never have taken this cruise ship, the Envy
- 15:19Speaker 4: Hondias with ocean I think it's oceanic or something. They
- 15:23Speaker 4: are like they were headed to Antarctica. They started out
- 15:29Speaker 4: in South Africa. I mean, these are places I would
- 15:33Speaker 4: never be anyway. These people were not taking a luxury
- 15:37Speaker 4: liner that is cleaned and disinfected like lunatics.
- 15:44Speaker 2: So that's my take on it.
- 15:46Speaker 3: You knew I'd have an episode, So what kind of
- 15:47Speaker 3: cruise is this? Then? Were people taking it for actual transportation?
- 15:51Speaker 3: Were they?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Now? I think they were taking it.
- 15:53Speaker 4: It started out in Ushaia in the far south of Argentina,
- 15:58Speaker 4: and the stops included Antarctica and several here's the keyword,
- 16:03Speaker 4: isolated South Atlantic Ocean islands. So we're not mainstream cruising here,
- 16:11Speaker 4: okay either, And I think that has something to do
- 16:14Speaker 4: with it.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Now, you go back in.
- 16:16Speaker 4: The day, Kevin on ship's early ocean liners that did
- 16:20Speaker 4: transatlantic crossings, you know, for example, like.
- 16:24Speaker 2: The Andrea Doria.
- 16:25Speaker 4: My ancestors came over on that ships like the Titanic,
- 16:30Speaker 4: they had viruses. Those guys were dying of scurvy and
- 16:36Speaker 4: all different kinds of rodent infested things. It's just unfortunately
- 16:39Speaker 4: ships have this profile. But when you go to weird places,
- 16:42Speaker 4: you get weird stuff.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Well, evidently it looks like the ship sets off April first,
- 16:49Speaker 3: as you said, from the far southern tip of Argentina,
- 16:52Speaker 3: going to Antarctica, stopping at several of those isolated South
- 16:56Speaker 3: Atlantic Ocean islands. A seventy year old dutch Man gets
- 17:00Speaker 3: off had gone sightseeing in Ushaia, and he and his
- 17:05Speaker 3: wife board the ship and he starts having fevers and
- 17:10Speaker 3: headaches and other problems. He develops the respiratory distress and
- 17:14Speaker 3: dies on board. But he's seventy years old, right Again,
- 17:19Speaker 3: elderly people more susceptible to viruses than of course, the
- 17:23Speaker 3: rest six people joined the crews on April fifteenth, when
- 17:27Speaker 3: the ship stops at the remote archipelage arch again these
- 17:32Speaker 3: isolated questions where manuals live, and the dutch man's body
- 17:36Speaker 3: remains on board, so they didn't even they didn't even
- 17:40Speaker 3: get the.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Dead guy goods really good.
- 17:43Speaker 3: April twenty fourth, So he dies what he dies on
- 17:45Speaker 3: the eleventh, and his body's still on there. On April
- 17:48Speaker 3: the twenty fourth, taking me as disgusting at the island
- 17:52Speaker 3: of Saint Helena, part of the British territory. His wife
- 17:54Speaker 3: does some embarks, as do more than two dozen other
- 17:57Speaker 3: passengers that were probably all in contact with her who
- 18:00Speaker 3: had no doubtedly been in contact with him. Right, So
- 18:06Speaker 3: the Dutch woman has symptoms. On the twenty fifth, takes
- 18:09Speaker 3: a commercial flight.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Oh that's so good, I'm so glad.
- 18:13Speaker 3: She back to South Africa and she's around h passengers
- 18:17Speaker 3: on that plane. Yeah, she dies in South Africa on
- 18:21Speaker 3: April twenty sixth.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Oh, she died too. So they were intimate.
- 18:26Speaker 4: They were saying, like, you have that very very consistent
- 18:30Speaker 4: intimate contact with somebody, so it's not easily transmissible like COVID.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Right, coked er market.
- 18:38Speaker 3: And get right came through the air and you could
- 18:41Speaker 3: breathe on each other.
- 18:41Speaker 4: This is not This is not the same and was
- 18:44Speaker 4: Here's the other question too, Was this guy infected from
- 18:49Speaker 4: being in another weird place before he got on the ship.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Because it lies dormant.
- 18:55Speaker 3: They think he picked it up in Ushea when he
- 18:57Speaker 3: was touring before they launched the ship. She's Kevin, don't
- 19:01Speaker 3: go anywhere from New York.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's Radio Night Life with Kevin McCullough.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Welcome back. It's Travel Tuesday. She's Linda Perillo of v Perillos.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I'm Kevin McCollum. Or maybe you saw her big cover
- 19:18Speaker 3: Girl spread and Stroll magazine or her article in the
- 19:23Speaker 3: Daily News over the weekend. She's you know the miss
- 19:27Speaker 3: press these days of all things. Yeah, it's me, that's it.
- 19:31Speaker 2: You're that's me.
- 19:33Speaker 3: You're like to tell me I never get to bug anymore.
- 19:36Speaker 3: So it's all all. It's good on you. We're talking
- 19:39Speaker 3: about this hantavirus and he got it most likely before
- 19:43Speaker 3: the ship even launched.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Oh for sure.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Well, the incubation period, you're right, they say the incubation
- 19:49Speaker 4: period could be up to forty two days. Isn't that crazy?
- 19:53Speaker 4: I mean, just when you just when you know what,
- 19:56Speaker 4: it was safe to go back in the water, like
- 20:00Speaker 4: days later.
- 20:01Speaker 2: What the unbelievable.
- 20:03Speaker 4: But I think that this and I don't know, Kevin,
- 20:06Speaker 4: you can opine on this as well. I think this
- 20:08Speaker 4: will be in and out. I think this is just
- 20:11Speaker 4: a story to hook on too today because it's health
- 20:16Speaker 4: and I think the circumstances are so weird.
- 20:19Speaker 3: And this is the problem. And the problem is this.
- 20:21Speaker 3: They ruined all of us with COVID, right correct. They misreported,
- 20:27Speaker 3: they biasedly enforced coverage, They took sides on things that
- 20:33Speaker 3: they shouldn't have. They should have the press should have
- 20:35Speaker 3: been objective reporting facts, not citing with Fauci or against Fauci,
- 20:40Speaker 3: just telling what facts were and proving what they could
- 20:43Speaker 3: and not not just taking government's word for anything else.
- 20:46Speaker 3: So what's happened? And I said this back during COVID
- 20:49Speaker 3: and at the end and now since when we found
- 20:52Speaker 3: out that basically everything we thought was a conspiracy theory
- 20:56Speaker 3: wasn't like that. They like Fauci really was crooked and
- 20:58Speaker 3: he really was doing bad stuff, and the vaccines didn't
- 21:02Speaker 3: prevent anything. And like all the stuff that we thought
- 21:05Speaker 3: that's now been proven true that has messed with our brains.
- 21:10Speaker 3: So now, yes, I don't know if I'm hearing a
- 21:12Speaker 3: TV network oh, virus virus, virus virus, if I'm all
- 21:16Speaker 3: of a sudden all that concerned about it, And how
- 21:19Speaker 3: do I know if you're not just lying to me
- 21:21Speaker 3: again now anyway, that's why, that's why I have to
- 21:24Speaker 3: be honest with you a wellness night where we have
- 21:26Speaker 3: doctor Siegel and some others of actual medical profession that
- 21:30Speaker 3: I have come on and actually tell us this stuff
- 21:33Speaker 3: because I'm not going to take government's word for it
- 21:35Speaker 3: ever again, Like it's just not going to be the
- 21:38Speaker 3: way I'm gonna roll. I'm going to talk to medical
- 21:40Speaker 3: people about medical things, and then I'll talk to the
- 21:42Speaker 3: government about taxes and national defense. That's how I'll deal
- 21:45Speaker 3: with that.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Well, this is typical.
- 21:48Speaker 4: We have discussed this before, right, This is so typical
- 21:51Speaker 4: of the press in twenty twenty six. Right, they latch
- 21:54Speaker 4: onto something so negative and then they just start, for me,
- 21:59Speaker 4: you know, rambling on they yes, they do, and then
- 22:03Speaker 4: they come out with all different kinds of theories and
- 22:06Speaker 4: conspiracy theories.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And meanwhile I have listen. Do you hear it and
- 22:10Speaker 2: you get a concern? Of course you do.
- 22:12Speaker 4: But I've been following some of these infectious disease doctors
- 22:15Speaker 4: that have said, this is not going to be a pandemic.
- 22:18Speaker 4: This is isolated. The hanta virus is rare, It is
- 22:22Speaker 4: not rampant. This is how you get it, this is
- 22:25Speaker 4: how it happens. These people were in strange places, like
- 22:29Speaker 4: enough enough, go on, and what are you gonna do?
- 22:33Speaker 4: keV Are you gonna walk out of your house every
- 22:35Speaker 4: day and be worried that you're gonna die of hantavirus?
- 22:39Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not that concerned. The concern is like
- 22:43Speaker 4: a one on a scale of one to one hundred.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Be aware, yeah, be aware, but like be overly concerned
- 22:51Speaker 4: that you're not gonna leave your house or travel on
- 22:53Speaker 4: a ship or do anything.
- 22:54Speaker 2: You can't live like that.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Thing else like Washington. Well, the basic commons stuff, and
- 23:02Speaker 3: that will cover about ninety five percent of what you
- 23:04Speaker 3: need to worry about. Wash your hands before you eat,
- 23:08Speaker 3: before you handle food, before you do anything else, wash
- 23:10Speaker 3: your hands. Get wash your hands a lot. Don't go
- 23:13Speaker 3: into places you know if you're if you're immune, susceptible.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Don't go to places that are crowded anyway, Like give
- 23:19Speaker 3: yourself lots of fresh air, you know, be in places
- 23:22Speaker 3: where you're not you know, cooped up with things. And
- 23:25Speaker 3: if that means you don't get to go on a
- 23:26Speaker 3: cruise some subpar you know, lame cruise both that goes
- 23:30Speaker 3: to the isolated South I Cantic Islands, then just don't
- 23:34Speaker 3: do that. Like that's that hard, Like I have no
- 23:38Speaker 3: desire to go on those kinds of criss.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I would never be on that thing for in my life.
- 23:43Speaker 4: No way, you kind of get what you pay for.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I don't know, yeah, but.
- 23:51Speaker 3: You know that you're probably they were probably like in
- 23:54Speaker 3: some sort of markets in Ushaia before going on there.
- 23:59Speaker 3: And I'm sorry the whole thing about how viruses start,
- 24:04Speaker 3: Like we were told no fauci had nothing to do
- 24:07Speaker 3: with it, no gain of function, and what turned out
- 24:10Speaker 3: to be true. We probably paid money to the clinic
- 24:14Speaker 3: for them to try the thing that made the virus,
- 24:17Speaker 3: and everything they told us was a lie, and everything
- 24:20Speaker 3: that we thought didn't sound right turned out not to
- 24:22Speaker 3: be right. And just common sense, friends, common sense, talk
- 24:26Speaker 3: to your doctor, talk to if you if you're immune, challenge.
- 24:29Speaker 3: You should be talking to your doctor anyway. And sometimes, like,
- 24:32Speaker 3: there's still people around me that make fun of people
- 24:34Speaker 3: that wear masks. I don't do that personally because I'm like,
- 24:37Speaker 3: you know what, if wearing a mask helps that person
- 24:40Speaker 3: feel like they're more in control of their own health,
- 24:43Speaker 3: or maybe they do have a breathing issue, or maybe
- 24:45Speaker 3: there is.
- 24:45Speaker 2: An immunity, Yeah, exactly.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Let them wear it, but you're not making me wear
- 24:50Speaker 3: one again, so good luck with it, no way.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, we'll go from there. I agree.
- 24:56Speaker 3: We're already to.
- 25:00Speaker 2: We are in too deep, keV.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, too deep, in deep. Yeah, we got to take
- 25:04Speaker 3: a break and we're coming right back.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Back to Kevin McCulla and Radio night Life from New York.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Why don't we get a week all right.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Kevin mckella. Linda Perillo, Yes, the superstar. Your payment method
- 25:24Speaker 3: has been declined, the author of that phenomenal, funny, touching, heartwarming,
- 25:30Speaker 3: very honest, very revealing read from Linda Perillo. It's worth
- 25:35Speaker 3: it's worth checking out. And do you have a book
- 25:38Speaker 3: signing this week?
- 25:39Speaker 2: No? Thank god, No I don't.
- 25:42Speaker 3: In the last two weeks, of course, I tell me
- 25:44Speaker 3: about him in time for us to promote him for you.
- 25:46Speaker 3: And now I'm asking if we can promote I don't.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Even think to tell you. I don't right now, I
- 25:50Speaker 4: don't even think to tell you.
- 25:52Speaker 3: If people want to sorry you externally, is it Lindaperillo
- 25:56Speaker 3: dot com.
- 25:58Speaker 4: No, actually, we're going to change that. I think right
- 26:00Speaker 4: now it's the other woman dot shop. But I think
- 26:03Speaker 4: if you google because that it had a.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Whole different concept when I revamped the website.
- 26:08Speaker 3: However, connotation in that name looking.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Up Linda Perillo, doc.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Lindaperillo dot com belongs to a very beautifully talented opera
- 26:20Speaker 4: singer by.
- 26:21Speaker 2: The name of Linda Perillo. And it's not me. I'm
- 26:24Speaker 2: telling you me.
- 26:27Speaker 4: And then I think there's a Linda Perillo realtor out
- 26:30Speaker 4: there to him, like, please change your name so I
- 26:33Speaker 4: can have my website back.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I can't.
- 26:36Speaker 3: We would think what did Caesar say to or what
- 26:39Speaker 3: did what did Alexander the Great say to that kid
- 26:42Speaker 3: that was a terrible fighter? Change your name or change
- 26:46Speaker 3: your change wave fighter, change your name because he was
- 26:49Speaker 3: named Alexander too.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Anyway, Oh god, well are you all right?
- 26:53Speaker 3: So? Uh, this last week and I saw, I saw
- 26:56Speaker 3: the first day that they went into operation. There new
- 27:00Speaker 3: stories running all over the place flying air taxis in
- 27:04Speaker 3: New York seven minute flights like out to the airports
- 27:08Speaker 3: or in from the airports. But these things are basically
- 27:13Speaker 3: a one, two, three, four, five five bladed helicopter that
- 27:21Speaker 3: just hovers and lands and fills up and takes off
- 27:23Speaker 3: and goes back across. And I am dying to ask
- 27:26Speaker 3: Linda Perillo, Yeah, would you use them?
- 27:30Speaker 4: Absolutely not. I will, oh, Kevin, I will be a
- 27:36Speaker 4: regular helicopter. I'm afraid of helicopters. I'm afraid of helicopters,
- 27:41Speaker 4: and I'm afraid of small planes. And I would never
- 27:46Speaker 4: do it because I think the next thing you're going
- 27:48Speaker 4: to hear is, oh, the next phase is the crash
- 27:51Speaker 4: of the of the air taxi that killed sixteen people
- 27:56Speaker 4: on the ground and the pilot and the I mean,
- 27:58Speaker 4: are these things going to be like the cars with
- 28:01Speaker 4: no people in them? I drove, I was in one
- 28:03Speaker 4: of those in San Francisco.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Weird.
- 28:06Speaker 4: It's like a ghost. It's like the ghost is driving
- 28:09Speaker 4: the car.
- 28:10Speaker 2: This is going to be strange. But my concern was
- 28:14Speaker 2: where do you land?
- 28:15Speaker 4: You say, well, I need to be at you know,
- 28:17Speaker 4: forty second and Lex and then they just trot be
- 28:20Speaker 4: on the core.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Oh, I think there are To answer that question, I
- 28:23Speaker 3: think there are predetermined yes, landing pads throughout many yes,
- 28:27Speaker 3: that they can do reach. Some of them may be
- 28:29Speaker 3: like on top of buildings, some of them are on
- 28:31Speaker 3: the ground. I think there's a combination of where they
- 28:33Speaker 3: may be. But to your point, here's the thing. You've
- 28:39Speaker 3: had helicopter tours of the city forever. And you know
- 28:44Speaker 3: on the West side there's a whole stretch of landing
- 28:47Speaker 3: pads there and they take off and land and they
- 28:49Speaker 3: probably do dozens each Each one of those helicopters probably
- 28:53Speaker 3: does dozens of flights per day. You know, up for
- 28:56Speaker 3: a few minutes. They take a family around the city.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Hey there's there's Trade Hey there's Empire State Building. You know, hey,
- 29:03Speaker 3: look there's Yankee Stadium. And they go to the fly
- 29:05Speaker 3: Oh there's the Brooklyn Bridge. And then they fly her
- 29:07Speaker 3: back around and land. Say there's your tour of there's
- 29:09Speaker 3: your there's your aerial tour of New York. Those tours
- 29:12Speaker 3: have been going on for decades. And how many crashes
- 29:17Speaker 3: have they had over the years. I can think of
- 29:19Speaker 3: one in the last ten to fifteen to twenty years
- 29:23Speaker 3: that we've been here that I that I remember, and
- 29:25Speaker 3: it was that family for about a year and a
- 29:26Speaker 3: half come but it was it was a questionable weather situation,
- 29:32Speaker 3: and you know, they was not it was not wise.
- 29:36Speaker 3: I think we've had one plane crash around New York
- 29:40Speaker 3: City in the length length of time that I've been here,
- 29:43Speaker 3: not counting like things like nine to eleven, which was
- 29:45Speaker 3: done intentionally, but and that was the plane that landed
- 29:49Speaker 3: on the Hudson River and Sully Sullivan got out and
- 29:53Speaker 3: got everybody on the wings and they got everybody safely home,
- 29:56Speaker 3: and that was a yeah. So I'm like, you know,
- 30:00Speaker 3: for all the years that there's been air traffic around
- 30:04Speaker 3: New York, there really hasn't been. I mean there's been.
- 30:06Speaker 3: You take that set those same amount of numbers of years,
- 30:09Speaker 3: and you've had millions of car crashes literally like if
- 30:12Speaker 3: you know, they run into something small or if it's
- 30:14Speaker 3: a major accident, you've had millions of those. So that
- 30:18Speaker 3: seems like a pretty safe ratio. And I'm going to
- 30:20Speaker 3: guess that these that these pilots are going to have,
- 30:24Speaker 3: they're going to have credentials up to wazoo and back
- 30:26Speaker 3: in order to be able to do this because no
- 30:28Speaker 3: insurance company is going to ensure a company that would
- 30:31Speaker 3: be doing this, and they wouldn't be able to operate.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Cityven New York wouldn't let him operate without some sort
- 30:35Speaker 3: of insurance behind them. So I'm thinking these are probably
- 30:39Speaker 3: going to be pretty diligent pilots with pretty good records,
- 30:43Speaker 3: and they're going to get people too and from in
- 30:45Speaker 3: very safe standards, back and forth. I don't think I
- 30:48Speaker 3: would be that nervous about it.
- 30:50Speaker 4: You could say that, Kevin, all you want, and you're
- 30:52Speaker 4: still never going to convince me that it's.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Okay to say.
- 30:55Speaker 3: I'm not saying I have to take you. But you
- 30:57Speaker 3: said you wouldn't go. I think I would, so you know,
- 31:00Speaker 3: we all be there.
- 31:01Speaker 4: I'll come with you for a site visit and you
- 31:03Speaker 4: could get on the taxi and then.
- 31:05Speaker 3: You can film me taken them.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I'll be waiting for you.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll be Kevin. I loved you so much I did.
- 31:12Speaker 4: I don't know what I'll do without you, but enjoy
- 31:14Speaker 4: the flight.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Now you'll get on an airplane and fly over an
- 31:16Speaker 3: ocean for nine hours.
- 31:18Speaker 2: You know you sound like my son, my little guy goes.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Would you flying over an ocean. That doesn't scare you.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I'm like, no, it doesn't, And why is that? Maybe
- 31:27Speaker 2: the plane is bigger.
- 31:28Speaker 4: I have major claustrophobia, and I have some really funny
- 31:33Speaker 4: stories and that, but they were bad at the moment
- 31:37Speaker 4: that they happened.
- 31:38Speaker 3: But can I tell you you have the extended wings
- 31:42Speaker 3: on each side, So yeah, what does that do well?
- 31:47Speaker 3: So if they lose this is this little avionics for you.
- 31:51Speaker 3: If they if they lose power to the engines, having
- 31:54Speaker 3: a wingspan allows them unlike a normal helicopter that has
- 31:58Speaker 3: nothing and it just comes straight down. It allows them
- 32:01Speaker 3: to go into a glide mode. So if they needed
- 32:03Speaker 3: to land, you know, a softer landing without all or
- 32:06Speaker 3: some of their propellers, that it would it would enable
- 32:09Speaker 3: them to get back to ground at a softer rate
- 32:12Speaker 3: of flow than it would if they were just a
- 32:15Speaker 3: normal helicopter with with you know, nothing but the propellers.
- 32:18Speaker 3: When you come up and down, if you have some wingspan,
- 32:21Speaker 3: you can you can do a little bit of gliding,
- 32:23Speaker 3: which is going to be more helpful in the long run. Anyway,
- 32:26Speaker 3: I'm not here to convince you. I just think it's
- 32:28Speaker 3: a cool imber. The first American city to have them.
- 32:31Speaker 4: So and it's going to happen because this is the
- 32:34Speaker 4: way we're headache technology is why.
- 32:38Speaker 3: With the Skies.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Oh and that's another thing. I guess they're going to
- 32:42Speaker 4: have to have an app or something, right like Uber.
- 32:44Speaker 3: They already do. Yeah, yeah, right. She's I'm Kevin. When
- 32:48Speaker 3: we come back, she's got Perilla's pointers for you and
- 32:51Speaker 3: discounted airfare for the season. Don't go away.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Once again from New York. Here's Radio Night Life and
- 33:07Speaker 2: Kevin mccullaugh.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Welcome back, final few minutes of Radio Night Live. She's
- 33:13Speaker 3: Linda Parillo. I'm Kevin McCullough and it is Traveled Tuesday,
- 33:17Speaker 3: and Linda, tis the season to get the discounts. Where
- 33:20Speaker 3: are we looking this week?
- 33:22Speaker 4: Well, interestingly enough, we are looking at Southwest Airlines. Why
- 33:28Speaker 4: because they are partnering, interestingly enough with Disney.
- 33:32Speaker 2: So although we are not.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Used to Southwest out here, because we don't live in
- 33:37Speaker 4: the Southwest, Southwest originates in the Southwest. They're fairs even
- 33:43Speaker 4: from out there going to Orlando are incredibly cheap. Okay,
- 33:49Speaker 4: so they an average deal on the booking site was
- 33:52Speaker 4: one hundred and forty seven dollars round real trick.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Yep.
- 33:57Speaker 4: They have been found as low as thirty eight round trip,
- 34:01Speaker 4: and Southwest has had aggressive fair sales.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Now here's the thing with Southwest.
- 34:07Speaker 4: They are taking advantage of what I hate to say it,
- 34:10Speaker 4: it sounds so much.
- 34:13Speaker 2: They're cannibals.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, these airlines, these carriers are cannibals.
- 34:19Speaker 2: They'll just say, Okay, we'll eat you up and spit
- 34:22Speaker 2: you out. We're done with you, but we're going to
- 34:24Speaker 2: take your family with us. And that's pretty much what
- 34:27Speaker 2: they're doing.
- 34:29Speaker 4: So despite the rising fuel costs, right and the ongoing
- 34:33Speaker 4: war in Iran because everyone blames that, Okay, okay, okay,
- 34:36Speaker 4: you know guess taxes are coming down, right. So again
- 34:41Speaker 4: it's the dissolution of Florida based spirit that is really
- 34:47Speaker 4: kind of the catalyst for this so PS.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Long story short.
- 34:51Speaker 4: They talked about Europe too, because the flights, the flights
- 34:54Speaker 4: are cheaper, but I'd want to focus on Southwest because
- 34:58Speaker 4: they're really trying to get into the market with these
- 35:00Speaker 4: cheaper flights, and they're going to do it at a
- 35:03Speaker 4: time when Florida is really hot, so people don't go
- 35:08Speaker 4: as they would in the winter, Okay, And they don't
- 35:11Speaker 4: go like they would in the fall Columbus days. Another
- 35:14Speaker 4: very hot here because the temperature is hot. But a
- 35:18Speaker 4: lot of people will take advantage of this over the
- 35:20Speaker 4: summer with their kids and go to Disney and go
- 35:23Speaker 4: to the Seame parks.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Well, and if you know you need them, just book
- 35:25Speaker 3: them now for the dates that you're trying to get
- 35:28Speaker 3: and you could do a lot of good. Yeah, very interesting. Well,
- 35:33Speaker 3: we have not talked about Italy twenty twenty six yet tonight,
- 35:38Speaker 3: but friends, just a reminder if you are wanting to
- 35:41Speaker 3: go on this trip with us, these seats are dwindling
