- 0:00Genesis Chapter 9, let us pray. Our Father who's in heaven, we
- 0:08thank you God for another day to come and worship you in spirit
- 0:12and truth. We thank you God for life and
- 0:15life eternal. We thank you God that we press
- 0:17towards the city. Lord that you have built the new
- 0:20Jerusalem. God, we speed the day.
- 0:24Lord, we press towards the light.
- 0:26God, we ask that you will supernaturally enable us, us to
- 0:30wait. Well, help us to beat your hands
- 0:32and feet today in this world. Help us to know what to do,
- 0:35Father, Help us to know how to do it.
- 0:38God, help us to know when to stay still and help us to know
- 0:41when to move. Lord, you are mighty in battle.
- 0:45God, you've never lost a battle. You are a conqueror, Father.
- 0:49You've made us more than conquerors.
- 0:51So, Lord, we thank you. We thank you for all the many
- 0:55blessings that you're pouring out on us even now.
- 0:58Lord come, Father, come, we pray in the mighty name of Jesus.
- 1:02Lord Maranatha, come, Lord, yes and Amen.
- 1:06We make ourselves ready. We fill our lamps, Lord, we trim
- 1:10the Wicks. Lord, we are the wise virgins,
- 1:13Father, and we await our bridegroom.
- 1:16Lord, come and capture us, God, Come, Lord, and rapture us,
- 1:22Father, unto yourself, for we are yours.
- 1:26Lord, we pulsate, Lord, towards the light.
- 1:28Lord, we yearn, Father, for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 1:34But while we wait, Father, help us to be the answer to this
- 1:39world's questions. All of the problems, Father, I
- 1:43pray that Christians, Lord, will step up and step out God, and
- 1:48we'll actually do the work of an evangelist, actually do the
- 1:51things that you've called us into the hardest places, the
- 1:54darkest places, not loving our lives so much as to shrink from
- 1:58death, but actually overcoming the evil one with the blood of
- 2:02the Lamb. Lord, the words of our
- 2:04testimony, Father, for you are worthy and you are, you are
- 2:09everything. You're the breath, You're the
- 2:11life God, You're the truth and you're the way.
- 2:14And so, Lord, we come up under the yoke of Jesus.
- 2:17We say yes and Amen to all of his ways.
- 2:20We love you, Yeshua, and it's in your mighty, powerful and
- 2:27awesome name that I pray. Amen.
- 2:34Well let's start in verse one and God bless Noah and his sons
- 2:42and said to them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the
- 2:46earth. We see this is another one of
- 2:50God's commandments to Noah, as he said to Adam, and this is a
- 2:57new creation, friends, and He's going to do a new thing in our
- 3:01day, in our hour. The second destruction is by
- 3:04fire. He promised to never flood the
- 3:06earth again. However, we know that we await
- 3:09the day where He was going to make heaven and earth pass away,
- 3:14and we know that not one of His words will pass away, but He
- 3:18makes all things new. And I just want you to know,
- 3:22friends, that we can see it mirrored and modeled after the
- 3:26flood that God's heart is for Noah and his three sons to
- 3:32repopulate the earth. And it's very, very similar.
- 3:37You see the same kind of verbiage that you saw back in
- 3:42the creation account. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you
- 3:48shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every fowl of the
- 3:52air, upon all that move upon the earth, and upon all fish of the
- 3:56sea, for your into your hand are they delivered.
- 4:01So you see here that the relationship between man and
- 4:04animal has shifted. Perhaps prior to the flood there
- 4:08was peace between man and animal.
- 4:10Perhaps it'll be a lot like the thousand year reign of Christ,
- 4:14the millennial earth, but you need to know that after the
- 4:17flood things had a shake up and now animals are fearful of
- 4:24mankind. So when mankind comes into their
- 4:28arena, they run, they flee, they give chase and it makes sport
- 4:34out of them for us where it is not just easy, they don't just
- 4:38walk up to us. And that is God's intention and
- 4:41design here. Verse 3.
- 4:44Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you, even as
- 4:47the green herb. Have I given you all things.
- 4:50So we see the diet change from the beginning whenever God was
- 4:56talking to Adam and Eve and He told them to eat from the green
- 5:00herbs and that would be meat for them.
- 5:03Now we see that animal life is now for our meat.
- 5:08So what an amazing thought friends, that God knows how to
- 5:13take care of us, and before the fall we were created to live
- 5:19forever, but after the fall of mankind He says, I will not put
- 5:23up with man for more than 120 years.
- 5:28So now we have to eat in order to survive, which was not in the
- 5:32original design for, but flesh with the life thereof, which is
- 5:39the blood thereof, you shall not eat.
- 5:41This is a prophecy of the coming Messiah, that there is life in
- 5:45the blood and there is no forgiveness of sins without the
- 5:49remission. There is no remission of sins
- 5:53without the shedding of blood, friends.
- 5:55And that is what is referenced here.
- 5:58He's talking about the Lord Jesus Christ. 5 And surely your
- 6:03blood of your lives will I require at the hand of every
- 6:06beast will I require it? And at the hand of man, at the
- 6:09hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
- 6:13So here you can see that if you are to kill something, make sure
- 6:18you honor that life by actually consuming it.
- 6:21We don't just kill it for the fun of it and leave it laying by
- 6:25the wayside. Also, we see capital punishment
- 6:29here, and God is for life, for life.
- 6:32He's for the people who take life for their life to be taken,
- 6:38friends, and that is a hard concept.
- 6:41But we would not see as much of the crime.
- 6:43We would not see as much of the murder that we see in the land,
- 6:47friends. If this was taken literally, if
- 6:51we knew the power of justice immediately, then we would not
- 6:56have all of the things that are happening in the world today.
- 7:02Six, Who so sheds man's blood? By man shall his blood be shed?
- 7:07For in the image of God he made man.
- 7:09So that is, the reason that we do not murder is because God is
- 7:13made in the image of man. We cannot just place human
- 7:17beings into a subhuman category. You need to know that every
- 7:23single person on planet earth is made in the image of God and
- 7:27that is why we have the sanctity of life friends.
- 7:30And that is why we are anti abortion friends.
- 7:34We cannot kill the children in the womb.
- 7:37What a complete disgusting satanic attack on human life.
- 7:43And you also need to know that when Jesus said if you live by
- 7:47the sword, you're going to die by the sword, here is a little
- 7:51snapshot of that, that when people take up arms, it is no
- 7:56wonder whenever their life is demanded from them. 7 And you be
- 8:03fruitful and multiply, and bring forth abundantly in the earth,
- 8:07and multiply in it. There's another one of God's
- 8:10commandments towards mankind to be fruitful and multiply and
- 8:15blessed is the one who has a quiver full of them.
- 8:19And we need to be raising up warriors for Jesus Christ.
- 8:23We do not need to be living selfishly.
- 8:26We do not need to just be thinking about what we want out
- 8:29of this life. There is a wonderful blessing
- 8:33with a person with a large family and that traditionally
- 8:37has gone by the wayside. And we are actually living in
- 8:41one of the least populated young adult generations that we've
- 8:52ever seen. And we're buying the lie of this
- 8:55overpopulation of the world and all of the emissions and all the
- 9:00garbage that gets propagated. We're buying into it, friends,
- 9:04and we need to know that God himself wants us to have a
- 9:09quiver full of children of warriors for his name's sake.
- 9:15Be fruitful and multiply. 8 And God spoke unto Noah and to his
- 9:20sons, with him, saying, 9 And I behold and behold, I establish
- 9:24my covenant with you, and with your seed after you.
- 9:27So here is the Noah, Noah covenant.
- 9:31Here is where we see God making a promise to Noah, to the earth,
- 9:36and to the animals. What an amazing covenant. 10 And
- 9:39with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, the
- 9:42cattle, every beast of the earth, with you, from all that
- 9:46go out of the ark to every beast of the earth. 11 And I will
- 9:49establish my covenant with you. Neither shall all flesh be cut
- 9:53off anymore by the waters of a flood.
- 9:55Neither shall there be any more flood to destroy the earth.
- 10:00So here God is not just making a promise to or to Noah.
- 10:04He's making a promise to the animals.
- 10:06He's making a promise to the earth.
- 10:09And he's going to hang his bow up in the clouds and point it
- 10:12towards heaven. And you need to know that the
- 10:15second destruction is by fire. But who will never flood the
- 10:19earth again? And we're going to see how
- 10:21ridiculous it is for Nimrod to build a tower thinking that God
- 10:27would flood the earth again. But by and large, here is a
- 10:31promise and that all that's all that a covenant is.
- 10:34And God will never lie. He'll never go back on his
- 10:38promises. He means what he says.
- 10:40He says what he means. He holds himself to these
- 10:43covenants well, and God said this is the token of the
- 10:47covenant which I made between me and you and every living
- 10:51creature that is with you for perpetual generation.
- 10:54So what an amazing God we serve. He's going to bring us all the
- 10:58way to the end. He's going to get us in the
- 11:01boat. He's going to make sure we're
- 11:02safe in Christ Jesus and he can do it.
- 11:05He can perform it. God is able.
- 11:07His arm is not too short to save and it is in his personality,
- 11:13friends. It's in his character to save
- 11:16those who love him. You see it with Lot, you see it
- 11:19with Noah friends, you see it with Elijah, You see it with
- 11:23even Enoch. You see that God is able to save
- 11:26those who are sold out completely to him.
- 11:29And that is my admonition to you today is sell out to the Lord
- 11:32God Almighty. Make sure that you are not
- 11:35living duplicious. Make sure you are not a
- 11:38hypocrite. Make sure that you're not just
- 11:40playing the part. Make sure you're actually sold
- 11:43out to our Lord and our God and our Savior and dwell with the
- 11:48Holy Spirit and you will be there with Him in the end.
- 11:52And He can do it and He will do it.
- 11:54And you can bet your bottom dollar on it.
- 11:56You can build your whole life on it.
- 11:58You can bank on it, friends. You can take it to the bank that
- 12:01He is going to perform all of the things that He's told us in
- 12:05this good book. 13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall
- 12:12be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
- 12:16So he takes his war bow and he hangs it up and it's pointing
- 12:20towards heaven. And when he shoots the arrow the
- 12:23next time, it's going to Pierce Jesus Christ.
- 12:26And that is what this is referencing.
- 12:28This is a prophetic act. And of course, we know that
- 12:31whenever the mist comes down, when the rain comes down and the
- 12:35sun hits it, it makes this prism.
- 12:37And that's a beautiful picture. And God even puts the rainbow in
- 12:42his throne room to remind himself of this covenant that he
- 12:45made with mankind. 14 And it shall come to pass when I bring
- 12:52a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud.
- 12:56What an amazing thought that whenever we look up into the sky
- 13:01and we see the rainbow, that it is a creation from God to remind
- 13:09himself and to remind us of this cataclysmic event that actually
- 13:16happened on planet Earth. And this Earth bears the scars
- 13:20of this judgment. And you can walk around and you
- 13:24can see that this worldwide flood happened.
- 13:29And there are so many different people groups that have a flood
- 13:33story, and it all corroborates. And it is pointing to the
- 13:39infallibility and the inerrancy of Scripture that we can trust
- 13:43it, and that we know that it is alive and active, and it's
- 13:46reading us as we try to read it. 15 And I will remember my
- 13:52covenant, which is between me and you, and every living
- 13:56creature of all flesh. And the water shall no more
- 13:59become a flood to destroy all flesh.
- 14:03What an amazing promise from God that we never have to worry
- 14:06about him flooding the earth again. 16 And the bow shall be
- 14:10in the cloud, and I will look upon it, that I may remember the
- 14:14everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all
- 14:19flesh that is upon the earth. So here God is making this
- 14:23promise to mankind that He's never going to flood the earth.
- 14:27He hangs his war bow up in the clouds, and we can bank on it.
- 14:32We can trust that God is going to hold to his word. 17 And God
- 14:38said to Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have
- 14:41established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. 18
- 14:46And the sons of Noah that went forth of the ark were Shem Ham.
- 14:49Japheth Ham is the father of Canaan.
- 14:52So we're going to see that this Canaan is cursed.
- 14:54We're going to see that even where Palestine is today, that
- 14:58is where Canaan was. And we could see that the
- 15:02Israelites rightly went in and overtook that land, the promised
- 15:06land, the land flowing with milk and honey.
- 15:08Joshua, the great commander of the Lord's army, he goes in to
- 15:13the place, and God fulfills the curse that he pronounced on
- 15:16Canaan. 19 These are the three sons of Noah, and of them was
- 15:22the whole earth overspread. So the entire earth was
- 15:27repopulated from Noah's three sons.
- 15:30And we can actually trace our lineage, we can trace our
- 15:33genealogy, we can trace our ancestry back to one of these
- 15:37three sons. What an amazing thought. 20 And
- 15:40Noah began to be a husband men and he and at a vineyard.
- 15:44So here we're going to get into a little section of the Bible
- 15:48that is very interesting and we can try to guess at all kinds of
- 15:52different things. But the Bible tells us what it
- 15:55wants us to know, and we actually read the text, and we
- 15:59believe the text, and we applied the text, and we try not to go
- 16:03off the rails and try not to be super extra biblical with all
- 16:07kinds of different theories and all kinds of different thoughts.
- 16:12But even in the original language, friends, when you go
- 16:16back and you search it, it reads exactly the way that God
- 16:20presents it here in our Word. 21 And he drank of the wine, and he
- 16:26was drunk, and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the
- 16:30father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and he
- 16:34told his two brothers outside. So here we can guess that Pam
- 16:39went in, he saw his father's nakedness, and he made light of
- 16:43it. He went out and made fun of what
- 16:47his father had done, falling asleep naked after getting
- 16:50drunk. 23 And Shim and Japheth took a garment and laid it upon
- 16:57their shoulders, and went backward and covered the
- 17:00nakedness of their father, and their faces were backward, and
- 17:03then they saw not their father's nakedness.
- 17:06They had reverence, they honored their father.
- 17:10They would not even look upon his nakedness because they had
- 17:13so much respect for Noah, 24. And Noah woke from his wine, and
- 17:18he knew what his younger son had done to him.
- 17:23So this is where a lot of people get turned around because they
- 17:26look at this, what he had done to him.
- 17:28But the only thing that Ham did to Noah was to make light of the
- 17:35situation. 25 And he said, cursed be Canaan, a servant of
- 17:39servants shall he be to his brother.
- 17:41So notice that he did not curse Ham, he cursed Canaan.
- 17:44And this was a foreshadowing, this was a fourth telling.
- 17:48This was a prophecy of the conflict that Israel would have
- 17:53with the Palestinians, and you see it even playing out today.
- 17:5926 And he said, blessed be the Lord God a shem, and Canaan
- 18:02shall be a servant. So here you can see that even
- 18:08the Canaanites would be subject to Shem, and that is where we
- 18:14get the Jewish nation coming in. 27 God shall enlarge Japheth,
- 18:19and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem, and Canaan shall be his
- 18:23servant. So here you can also see that
- 18:26the Gentiles are going to come in, in the same way that the
- 18:29Jews must come in, which is through a Jewish Messiah named
- 18:33Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He is the way, the truth, and
- 18:37the life. There's no other way and we
- 18:39can't skirt, we cannot get around it.
- 18:41There is no other salvation apart from Jesus.
- 18:44That's what his name means is salvation.
- 18:47Hosanna in the highest, and you need to know that here.
- 18:51Japheth and the lineage of Japheth and the lineage of Ham
- 18:55and the lineage of Shem, they all must come through the
- 19:00Messiah that came through Shem's line. 28 And Noah lived after
- 19:07the flood, 350 years. We'll end on 29.
- 19:12And all the days of Noah were 950 years, and he died.
- 19:16What an amazing thought, Francis, that God repopulated
- 19:20the whole earth. He told us the prophecy that
- 19:22would be fulfilled even to today, that we see it in the
- 19:26land today. Isn't this an amazing book that
- 19:29you hold in your hand and it goes all the way back to the
- 19:32beginning? We're in Genesis, which is the
- 19:34book of beginnings, and you see how so much of what God talked
- 19:39to about to us in Genesis is still relevant, still fluid for
- 19:45our current day, still current news, mainstream politics, it's
- 19:50still going on today. And that's how you know that the
- 19:53Bible is trustworthy and true. I hope you've been blessed by
- 19:58this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 20:01I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 20:04of you. I love you, God loves you.
- 20:14Stay prayed up today, stay blessed up today.
- 20:19Get in the Word, let the Word get into you.
- 20:24God has many more things that He wants to show you As you get in
- 20:28the Word. Hide it in your heart so that
- 20:33you might not sin against God. He's so worthy, He's so holy,
- 20:38He's so beautiful. Look upon him today.
- 20:42God bless you. See you back here tomorrow.
