- 0:19begin with an update to Saturday's homicide on
- 0:21Howe Avenue. The Sacramento County Sheriff's
- 0:24Office announced the arrest of 28 -year -old
- 0:26Xander Burnside in connection with the June 6th
- 0:29fatal shooting at a business located on 1050
- 0:31Howe Avenue. Deputies responded to the scene
- 0:35shortly after 1120 a .m. and found a 31 -year
- 0:38-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the
- 0:40chest. Despite life -saving efforts by deputies
- 0:43and fire personnel, the victim was pronounced
- 0:45deceased at the scene. Investigators say the
- 0:49suspect fled before deputies arrived, but through
- 0:51witness interviews and surveillance video, detectives
- 0:55identified Burnside as the suspect and obtained
- 0:58a murder warrant. On Tuesday, detectives located
- 1:02and arrested him in Pinole, California, without
- 1:05incident. He was transported to Sacramento County
- 1:07Main Jail and booked on murder charges. Authorities
- 1:11say he is ineligible for bail. In other public

- 2:08the Sacramento Police Department is adding a
- 2:10new emergency... evacuation tool to its fleet.
- 2:15Newly built patrol vehicles are now being equipped
- 2:17with high -low warning sounds designed specifically
- 2:20for large -scale evacuations during major disasters.
- 2:24Unlike the traditional police siren, the high
- 2:28-low alert will only be used during widespread
- 2:31emergencies such as wildfires, levee failures,
- 2:34dam breaches, and other situations requiring
- 2:37immediate evacuation. Police officials say the
- 2:42system serves as a backup when power outages
- 2:45damage infrastructure, smoke or communication
- 2:49failures limit effectiveness of cell phones,
- 2:52internet alerts, radio broadcasts, or other notification
- 2:56systems. Residents are encouraged to familiarize
- 3:00yourselves with the distinctive sound so that
- 3:03you can recognize it if it is ever activated
- 3:06during a real emergency. You're tuned in to The
